We had problem with pur heat pump. We call our home warrant company and they sent out Fugate heating and cooling. After inspection they deemed the inside and outside unit needed to be replaced. www.2-10.com home warranties advised that they would only replace the outside unit. And since then the unit has not worked properly we have had a couple of contractors advice they would never work right together.

We have had a Maytag wash machine broken since before April 9th 2012, and today's date is May 14th 2012. 2-10 says they are going to replace the transmission and clutch and are waiting for the contractor to contact them. In the mean time we have been going to the laundry mat spending $ that we do not have to. I have even been told by one of the persons at the call center that they agreed to buy the washer out for $639.00, however when I call the story changes every time. I asked to talk with the CEO of the company but was not allowed to have his phone number. We feel that we have been dubbed by the 2-10 warranty company and wish someone would let us know something.

I am 17 years with 2-10 but had no problem. On April 25 I called because my refrigerator Year 1994 side-by-side stopped cooling. A contractor recognized by 2-10 came to look at it and suggested a new compressor and new coil but 2-10 did not believe him and made an appointment with Sears which took a week to come. The technician came to the same conclusion but was told to put in only refrigerant. 2-10 was charged $238.80 for that service. On May 26 the refrigerator stopped working again and after putting in a claim I was told that only Sears can fix it. I had to borrow a refrigerator because if you live in South Florida you need one fast.
Today May 31. the technician came to the same result, which would cost 2-10 $949.91 to repair which the technician was told to do. My Insurance plan includes $99.00 fee for replacement of appliance but 2-10 refused to do. With the money they have spend and are willing to spend on repair I would have had a nice new one.
WHERE IS THE LOGIC?

I have had 2-10 Warranty for the last two years.. The first time I used them they were good, I had a problem with a lemon Maytag dishwasher and it used 3 motors in less than a year...2-10 put in 2 of them...Then I had a leaky kitchen faucet, they would only put in the cheapest one they could find, I had to buy a new faucet myself, and they still charged me $50..and when that one leaked also after they put it in 2 weeks later, the guy came out, said he did'nt have the right parts and we never saw him again...Then our heat pump stopped, and they sent an "Inspector " out.. He said we needed a new one, it would cost almost as much to fix as a new one, so it should be replaced... But 2-10 would'nt hear of it, they sent another "inspector" who did'nt know crap about Heat pumps, and he said it only needs a compressor, and it did'nt need to be replaced He was just saying what 2-10 wanted to hear.( That was Chris from Sun Tech) So then I hired my own inspectors, 3 of them, they all said it was no good and had to be replaced... But 2-10 would do nothing, they would only put in a copmpressor, which all other inspectors said I did'nt need, but I need everything else...Then my refrigerator started making noise & would'nt shut off, I called them & they said they don't fix noises, say what? Something is wrong with it, but they won't come out, so now I am suing them for all the hassle, they figured they would stall until my warranty runs out in April I strongly suggest NOT getting a 2-10 Warranty

This company is terrible. I was first told that I could use my contractor if he became approved by them, the most helpful agent gave me a number for him to call so he could become approved. Wrong, next agent told me that this is a "lengthy process" and I needed to use their contractor. I stated I wanted my policy canceled now. I was told that it could only be done on line. I was given an e mail address. Of course no one responded to my e mail. I called again and ask about my cancellation and was told it could only be done by mail. It is impossible to reach any one by e mail or by phone. Guess it is this way because the service is so bad and they can avoid complaints. This policy has been totally worthless to me.

This company sucks. The contractor took forever to call and schedule maintenance. Then didn't show up to complete the project after they collected the service fee. We had to call and insist on a second contractor which was no better. Yesterday I submitted a claim on the A/C/Heat pump unit. Today I can't even get online as if the website has been taken down. So, this company's home waranty is a waste of money.
