$100 rebate scam. After filling out the long applications and submitting the "original" UPC barcode label, they send an email indicating it is denied because the bar code was not sent in. Shop NBC is no help. Their copy of the documentation submittal shows the bar code but there is no phone number where to call. Their form letter gives you instructions for re-submitting application with the "original" bar code but of course, you no longer have it.

For a $40.00 Visa card on a WD Hard Drive from Worldwide Rebates:

Option one: Take the first offer to receive rebate straight away and they take 10% off the top, or
Option two: Wait for the full amount on a Visa card to arrive in the mail.

I took option two.

It has been three months and nothing. I have called several times to check on it. Today I was told there is 'no record' of me having called in the past and that that they never received my submissions that I had been very careful to do correctly. She talked over me so that I could not say anything. She challened me to remember the name of the person I had previously talked to. In the end, I gave up and now have a terrible taste in my mouth regarding rebates. I believe that I was scammed because I didn't accept their first option so they could make the CASH off of my rebate.

Wwr your company is a sick joke. I will now never do business w tiger direct or wwr ever again. Followed your directions to the t cut out my UPc and sent it in along w all the documents. Selceted the no wait rebate. Got my denial today for not providing the UPC funny how u scan the documents in so do I and I have documentation showing the UPC was included. Wwr people like me do not f**k around to say the least. I will report u to the bbb tmrw as well as file legal action against you. Process my claim no exceptions. Funny how so much negative information is on the internet about your company. This will all look good in a class action law suit. Claim # [protected] see you in court

I think we should go after the companies who sponsor this rebate company. I was a victim as well and I wrote to ASUS and told them I will never buy your product as long as you use this company. 4myrebate AKA Worldwide Rebates, Inc. sucks

Denied! This is a definite scam. Just got off the phone with one of their customer service reps and she sounded sooooo happy to be there! Tracking number is #[protected]. Submitted original to San Diego, they "lost" it. Re-submitted to Florida, denied, not the original UPC. DUH! Of course! It was sent to San Diego, whom conveniently lost it. And today, I just called their friendly [protected] and the lady was absolutely no help at all. Scam, Scam, Scam. World Wide Rebates, you ought to be VERY ashamed of yourself!

I bought a drive through tigerdirect with a $20 rebate, to be processed through worldwiderebates.com. they denied my claim for lack of reciept - the reciept was enclosed, they just didn;t scan it. I emailed it to them. they claimed it was an invoice, not a recept. tigerdirect only produces invoices...not reciepts. here's the kicker: Both TigerDirect.com and Worldwide Rebates are subsidiaries of Systemax, Inc.!

DO NOT ORDER FROM TIGERDIRECT AND DO NOT EXPECT TO GET YOUR VALID REBATE PAID BY WORLDWIDEREBATES.COM. CROOKS!

They received all documents they need BUT they can not find the invoice date on the invoice. I had to rescan the invoice and highlight the "date" for them with a pdf file. They replied and saw the date. BUT (again) they need the invoice date for 2nd invoice. This time they can't read pdf or jpeg attachment any more.

Don't know why?

yeah i forgot to mention that when i asked who issued the cheques i was told it was acholia bank. i checked online and it said something about a word bank. at this point i really dont know what to make out of that information the bank is either really obscure, not within american jurisdiction, or made up. it seems to me that the extra amount paid for products is put into accounts that are swollen and sometimes they decide to be generous and pay up. i forgot to mention that when i asked about my cheque that i was told it would be several more weeks even though the tenth week was almost up. clearly a lie without any doubt what-so-ever. no one is that stubborn and careless. right now im pretty pissed and my guarantee is no rebate no NCIX ever or tiger direct or other such subsidiaries, obviously no more world wide rebates. WWRs not giving me the rebate will result in loss of business to any company that goes along with its actions. i have typed so much all over 30 dollars based on what ive been hearing and the bad service i received by phone. just know i am going to follow protocol, after hillsboro BBB, i will than go to the FTC, all the while searching for a class action. i may be fun to push around but i am dead ###ing serious.

i just wanted to chime in with my experience so far as a no nonsense consumer, not to complain but to share what I thought was craftyness on WWRs part. Okay, I gave them a call to check to see if they even sent the rebate yet as the tenth week approached. To get this out of the way by the second time I called to check if the first call was treated appropriately someone told me that the cheques took a little longer than ten weeks. But I was also told that the cheque was not even sent out yet and with no claim of assurance I am only left to guess (how can i even be impartial here) how long it would take for them to send it nevermind receive it. Of course they are not advertising as a business but since I waited so long I can only say that 8-10 weeks is a false claim rarely followed even within the written and not unspoken policy if you get my drift which im sure you all do one way or another. The first time I called I was put on hold after I simply said let me just get my tracking number handy as I clicked to enter the email with the number. She didnt even really ask to put me on hold then I was put back into rotation after getting my due priority. When I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor I was transferred to some office where no one was there. If this is the case than why transfer me, is it really possible that the supervisor or manager was out to lunch leaving the whole fraudulent appearing operation run by an operator. sure, of course i say. maybe there was no supervisor or perhaps they really did just step out as it said in the message. sorry moderator if this may offend you in any way but any form of policy that overlooks grievances as part of the business model is criminal and this whole response I get rates pretty high on my ### meter. I know how this works and I know BBB cant do much if anything so I will at the very least attempt to follow suit when I find someone making a real class action case. this isnt my fail safe method because this is what I think now and that is how I see things playing out. if you can help good but otherwise my search starts now however vain it may turn out to be. thank you for listening to my complaint.

What good does their phone numbers do? All you get is a computer answering, when you ask for an operator, they are always busy and then it hangs up on you, must be the poor dude is alone and on coffee break all day. I recieved the front part of my rebate, and the back was tore off, so either someone stole my rebate check or it got caught in a sorter somewhere. Tiger Direct will never get ANY of my business ever again! Such a rip off!

My name is Hope. I am the customer service supervisor at Worldwide rebates. I would be glad to assist you with your rebate submissions, questions and inquiries. I see a few postings where the claim was denied for the UPC barcode being missing or incorect. We make acceptions and we also re-decision claims daily. If it was the only UPC on the box we go to the manufacturer on your behalf to obtain an exception. We are rebate processors. We want to ensure our customers obtain their rebates. We work directly with the manufacturers to get exceptions and approvals.

Our rating with the BBB is a "C". In SanDiego our rating is a "B". Our correct name is Worldwide Rebates.

If there is any assistance needed please feel free to contact me at hope.wilkerson@worldwiderebates.com

I've sent a few rebate requests to World Wide Rebates. They've been denied. I fully expected a denial if I got any of the details of their instructions wrong and wasn't suprised at most of the denials, since its easy to make errors in a rarely practiced routine.

I thought it curious, however when my rebate was denied for having the wrong UPC barcode label attached. When I got the denial email, I retrieved the origional box (HIS HD 4850 ICEQ4
purchased from Micro Center) and found no other barcode labels on the carton. Even I couldn't have messed that up. There was only one choice, yet their email said I'd supplied the wrong one.

Is it possible they don't really award rebates? Would a reputable company such as Micro Center tolerate such action from a subcontractor?

I read an earlier posting by a person who said she was with WWR. Thinking she, or an associate, might be of help, I called the phone # she provided. I got a CG voice telling me that all customer service reps were busy, shuttled through their "options" list and then their system quit the connection.

Micro Center, after a few phone calls, now refers to me as "the rebate guy".

If you've read the other posts, you may agree that since WWR has "Hope", we do not. I don't wish to belabor the point, or use extreme language, although I certainly could at this point.

This particular rebate system seems to have, from the consumer's viewpoint, several profound flaws. The real question is if those flaws stem from logistics, and fraud protection, or by design of vendors who would prefer not to follow through on promises made to customers.

At least most people here got as far as submitting a rebate. I bought a video card from MicroCenter with the instructions on my receipt of going to worldwiderebates.com and getting the form to send in to claim my rebate. However, when I went to the site, I entered in the offer code and no accompanying rebate was found. After searching through a huge page of rebates available for video cards, I still could not find the offer MicroCenter stated was due me. I found one for a similar card, but the rebate period had expired and thus could not claim it. I sent them a couple of emails to which I've received no response. I might call one of the numbers listed above, but from the other complaints I've read here, it doesn't sound like I would receive a rebate without a great deal more hassle...and it would be questionable even then.

Received the same message after submitting a Micro Center rebate.
Your Rebate was not approved for the following reason(s)
- Copy of Receipt/Invoice or Packing List is missing

But I taped the UPC label to the form they create when you do the required preregister. They failed to scan that form when they sent the "received documentation. I believe they did this because I did not request the immediate payment (where they collect $ from the rebate). Seems like a conflict of interest to me. If I get a rebate they get extra cash. There should be a law against this.

It is especially irritating in that neither Micro Center nor Worldwide publicize an email address where you can send your followup complaint. If Micro Center really cared about customers it would display where to email consumer problems or questions.

I also submitted the rebate information and yes did get a confirmation that my rebate was approved. However, the offer is set-up to ensure that very few rebates are in fact granted. I ordered a 60" tv that came in a huge box. The original UPC required for the rebate is of course on the huge box that the product came, in which I trashed. I realized this requirement after going to the web site and reviewing the rebate instructions. Luckily trash in my neighborhood had not ran allowing me to rummage through garbage in the rain to retrieve the UPC. You would think your shipping and invoice would be sufficient. I was also pissed to find that my rebate would be sent in the form of a Visa check card. I expected a rebate check for re-deposit to my interest bearing checking account as that is how the item was paid for. I am bothered that I would be arbitrarily forced to spend my supposed rebate and that this form of payment is not mentioned in the tedious rebate application process! Yeah, be warned you will not receive a rebate check but rather a visa check for you spend on some other crap. Very misleading!

I went to the Thermaltake website to comment on the rebate decline and after I did so I was sent an automated commentary form from them which I filled out with a copy of my rebate submission timeline.

Consider going to the manufacturers, afterall it is they who hire the rebate companies in the first place. I have seen no response at all from either WWR or Thermaltake so far but I have been asssured by Newegg that they will fulfill the rebate if no one else does. Well that's fair...not!

I could understand them denying a rebate to someone who tries to deceive but clearly sending the required documents and defacing the box making a product return impossible only to be declined because of a postal error is not acceptable. People need to fight for these or absolutely avoid products with rebates. The dollar is the currency of the realm, discount the product directly and molest me not with the delays and unfair denials.

If I have to get the retailer to refund my money I am going to pitch this story to the local news as I have been keeping track of all rebates and this is one of a record number of problems, most christmas rebates seem to have been delayed or lost. Is it Postal Service incompetence or rebate company criminality? There is a story there.

Feeling like a number. Mine is #[protected] BTW...

I sent in a rebate for my girlfriend. It was for a ThermalTake V9 case. I sent all the stuff in to the dot, including taping the barcodes from the box to the rebate form. I wrapped the receipts in the rebate form and put it all in the letter. I just got word from my girlfriend that they declined the rebate because what I sent was a shipping label. The label I sent clearly read on it UPC and it had a number on it that matched the rebate form to the dot. They are now asking me to resubmit the UPC but I don't have it. They also seem rather shady because on the page they have scans of the receipts I sent but they did not scan the rebate form nor did they scan the label I sent. I am waiting to hear back from their support. I also wrote to The Watchdog at maximum pc. I have a picture of all the stuff I sent in the envelope. There is no way I forgot to put anything in there because the UPC was taped to the rebate form as they stated and they had to have gotten the rebate form and a label.

I totally agree with everyone here. My rebate was approved on 11/04/08 now it has been 10 weeks since then. I have tried calling for 3 days to see when I would receive my rebate. Finally I got through and I was told it would take another 2 to 3 weeks to get it. I should not have to wait that long since it states 8 to 10 weeks for rebate. 12 to 13 weeks is absolutely to long to wait and I believe I will contact the BBB. I believe it should expedited and sent to me as soon as possible since I already waited the time frame. Tracking number [protected].

My declined rebate is just a $10 rebate but it is my first with WWR and one of 3 so far I have sent in
to them. WWR is unique in apparently requiring the address label be cut out and taped to the envelope.
This proved to be a problem in case #[protected].

I bought a Thermaltake BlacX esata drive frame from Newegg on 10/31/08 which came with Rebate Offer: TRM-5923.
It was delivered on 11/04/08.

The first unit I was sent was defective and had to be returned so I did not cut the upc out of that one, it was replaced on 11/12/08 and it was on that date that I applied for the rebate and sent it in same day, very careful to include and check off each requirement.

On 12/18/08 I received an email from WWR stating that they had not gotten my paperwork and to submit it, I have the email and can post it. I called the phone number and found that they are also the first company I have dealt with that hangs up on you if the operator(s) are busy and they were twice so I was hung up on twice. You do not just call and get through, you navigate to where you have to enter your 16 digit code and check the status before getting an operator.

The same day 12/18/08 I got the returned letter from USPS with no address label. The tape came off along with the TO address so I tried to call again and got hung up on again so was going to simply write the address on the envelope but the rebate sheet hints that it might not be processed if the address is not taped on so I printed another rebate form and taped the address on again with strapping tape. I included a handwritten message explaining the reason for delay, this was mailed the evening of 12/18.

Then I got a personal email message from a customer service rep saying that nothing had been received. The first one was an automated email.

On 1/7/08 I got an automated email that my rebate had been declined due to a postmark outside of time limit. It welcomed me to reapply with missing paperwork but not if it is declined due to being outside the allowable dates.

So I tried to call just now and after navigating to the point of entering the 16 digit claim id I was told it was declined and after selecting to talk with a representative, of course, the operator(s) and by that I mean there are too few no matter how many there really are, I was hung up on.

So for $10 back on a $40 product, two stamps, wasted time and aggravation. I will be watching my other WWR rebates closely. Another $10 for the same product on a different offer and $20 for a videocard.

Confidence is higher as I have both confirmations so I know the tape held the address label.

I bought a $1500 television that came with a $100 rebate on 12-15-08...Today I got an email from them stating they have my information and I will be hearing from them with a decision shortly...Tonight I got an email saying the check is on the way...I am fortunate to not have any problems and I will buy products with them as the rebate processoe in the future. ...I hate SCAMS...but in this case I feel they did a fast, efficient and perfect job.

I have yet yo buy the stuff i want with these rebates from CompUSA, but after reading many forums about this SCAM! company, i dont think I will buy from CompUSA anything with a rebate.

I checked the BBB website. First this company is not a member of it(for obvious reasons). When you search for it, you get 4 different listing using different variations of the same name...but they all use the same website as worldwiderebates.com.

One had a C- Rating, the other three had big fat F's...in fact on had 15 unanswered complaints from the BBB..most likey the BBB tried to use the same bogus email that is their "customer service." The only reason this company is still around and not shut down is because they do in fact award your rebate...ONLY IF you get denied for some ### reason, then finally call them and hassle them. But they are betting on most people not either finding the real number to call or real email address, so they end up pocketing the money.

Seems the only people that finally got their money had to jump through hoops. They are a SCAM, fraud, probably some ### con-artist that doesnt give a ### about anyone but himself and wants to get as much money as he can while barely skirting the lines of the law.

No good calling the phonenumber - always get a "please call back" and hung up on. No answer to email - they have two thermaltake rebates from me, and the upc codes have been swapped - so of course they denied it.

On these two rebates, somehow the upc's got switched on them.

Bunch of rip off artists. I sent my rebate forms in over 2 months ago. 4 rebates in total. One was denied. I forgot to sign the form. I can sorta understand about not signing it. But like others have said it took so long for them to process it there was no chance of getting back it to them in time before the rebate time expired. Two were processed have yet to see a rebate check from them and one was just processed now over 2 months after sending it in. Now for that one it will take another 8 - 10 weeks. ### YOU world wide rebates. I will never ever buy another product with a rebate with out asking who is issueing the rebate 1st and I will refuse to do business with any company who uses them to process rebates. All be warned about these ###s.

Oh sorry i forgot to add that they dont answer their customerservice@worldwiderebates.com emails. Too busy denying claims to write emails. Also their domain is a private registration which is super shadey for a business. They must not want anyone being able to get a real working #, address, or name.

According to the law though... the reseller is responsible for the rebate. So I would start harassing whoever you bought your stuff from and possibly download some small claims lawsuit paperwork from their state website.

I submitted a rebate 4 months ago and those a-holes at worldwiderebates.com denied it supposively because it was from an unapproved vendor. Yet globalcomputers.com, the vendor i bought from is on their approved list. And it shows it right on the scan of my invoice. Totally a scam. A friend who worked at a rebate center said that the reviewers got more $ per rebate if they denied it than if they approved it. I really hope everyone at worldwiderebates.com end up having kids with cancer for their thievery.

Spent over a grand on parts and would make a decent amount back on my rebates. But where is the friggin' address to send them into? The only address I see is the WWR privacy branch which already has issues with customers sending rebates into them...which they send back stating sorry we don't process rebates, but of course they don't give you the proper address...that would be too helpful. All it says is to inquire the online rebate form as to the proper rebate processing facility whom you mail it to.

I just got notice that I failed to send in my invoice when it's clearly shown in the documents they scanned, they just failed to scan the reverse of the page which showed my item. I don't know if they have the capacity to turn the page over or if they scan and then destroy the letters? Regardless I scanned and printed out the packing slip and sent that in. Having to jump through these hoops is preposterous nonsense, it's only purpose clearly to deny these rebates to people for technicalities due to ignorance or illiteracy. The store should just offer a discount and be done with it.
