I stopped the gym toward the end of my Physical Therapy. I was looking specifically to continue exercises to reduce out of pocket medical costs. So I meet with a sales rep, Mike, and he tells me $32.05 a month with $100 down. Inclusive was supposed to be two training sessions a month.

I had three major concerns. I told him I was on a tight budget because of graduate school so I couldn't afford "hidden costs". I told him I was relocating at some point out of state, and wanted to ensure ease of cancellation. The most important concern was the ability to cancel if my orthopedic doctor felt it wasn't working out with that level of exercise. I was told to just email him at any time to cancel with no penalties.

Lie #1 was the 2 inclusive training sessions. I went to the first session and met with a trainer. The session was all I expected until the end when I learned that she expected $2, 000 a quarter for these semi-monthly training sessions. It seems that although advertised, this is not a service provided and is at this exhorbitant cost.

Lie #2 I was winging it on my own, managed to overdo it. The orthopedic said - no more gym after a month. I held onto the membership another 8 months hoping my medical situation would change. It did not - so I called Mike in December 2009 to cancel.

Lie #3 In addition, I am in the process of moving out of state for work. They claimed there is a gym close to where I was moving that would accept membership. I stopped by to try to cancel at the MD location and the address is a small office building and the doors were locked, even during regular business hours.

I email Mike with no response. I sent a letter to the NJ gym I joined with no response. I sent a letter to the MD business office with no response to the cancellation.

I filed a dispute with my CC company, and unless WOW acknowledges they are going to reverse my credit. I have really good terms and rates and don't want to cancel the entire credit card because of WOW.

If the credit card company allows yet a 3rd charge in March, I plan to take them to small claims court.

I had heard things about WoW but after going to the gym and seeing it for myself. I don't see what all the fuss is about. I joined at a great price for myself my husband and oldest daughter. I like the private room for women and that I can watch my two younger kids in the babysitting room while I work out. I have recommended a few of my girlfriend and they seem to really like it too. Im excited that there will be more locations soon.

Brought my family in and wanted them trained in how to use the equipment.
They promised me that would happen when I signed up.
They simply refused.
I am pondering how to respond to this.
Feel cheated.

I agree 100%. I went away this summer. Put my membership on hold and wanted to pay the $5.00 a month. That never happened. I was still charged the regular monthly fee. I was promised that I would have a problem with this. When I checked my bank account I discovered that the $5.00 fee never happened.
Called about it but that was a waist of time. Would not remberise me for the overcharge.
They checked computer to see if I was attending and realized I have'nt been there for four months. Still no results.

You left a lot out.

Sorry I can't give you any constructive advice. Since there's a lot left out I'm just going to assume that there was a miscommunication somewhere and it appeared that you thought they were refusing.
