My 15 year old daughter had got her first job at mcdonalds. They say they work around the kids schedule. That was a lie. They scheduled her to work a closing shift 2 to 3 times a week on a school night. She was told if she didn't work them she would be let go. So they let here go after working there a year. They said she didn't show for a couple of shifts, but we always watched our daughters shifts. Mcdonalds lies. Now my daughter is having a hard time finding a job. Now she's afraid of work. Thanks a lot mcdonalds.

i was waiting in the drive through for 10 mins then directed to the waitng area for another 10 mins then approached the counter asking how much longer the reply was it will be another 5 mins what was your order. i said how do you know it will be another 5 mins when you dont even know what my order was... i then asked for a refund...the drive through is supposed to be a speedy service well i beg to differ that resuarant is always slow and stuffing up the orders if your staff cannont forfull the job description well other staff should be hired that can do the assigned tasks

THIS IS THE BIGGEST SCAM ON RECORD! If you DID NOT enter to win something, how is Mcdonalds going to pick Sharisukumaram out of 7 Billion People? It's a SCAM. Don't fall for it, and for the love of god, don't send them money... Because they WILL ask!

Having been loate to buy from the Atterbury branch of McDonalds due to previous experiences, but feeling very peckish I decided to give them another chance. I ordered a small Big Mac meal with a medium strawberry milkshake instead of the coke and a medium Cajun chicken meal again with a chocolate milkshake instead of the coke from the intercomm system at the entrance to the drive through and then progressed reasonable quickly past the pay station until 3rd in line to be given my order. After 1015 minutes I eventually turned off my cars motor and waited probably another 5 to 10 minutes before progessing a spot. While waiting a young blonde female came to the window (from a car that had just come into the parkng area) to complain that she had received a wrap instead of her burger. When this was eventually sorted out she left with the comment that the staff at Macs 'should wake up'...Thanks to her I checked my order when I eventually received it and found the instaed of 2 milkshakes I had been given a coke and the chocolate shake. I then insisted on speaking to the manager and suggested that he reply the assistant at the window because she was obviously utterly useless.

6/27/2011 Yesterday my sister and I ate plain cheeseburgers from McDonalds and only three hours later we were both nauseous with upset stomachs and diarrhea. This is the second time in two weeks this has happened. This has only ever happened at this location. 2801 CARLISLE BLVD NE in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

I have been a long term customer of MacDonalds and wondering why it costs me extra to get mac sauce on my burger but if I get just ketchup it costs me nothing!?! Some places charge 25 cents for a shot of mac sauce and then I was told they can't put it on a single burger anymore, but they have the time to put it in a cup for me. I don't understand the concept of time management on that one. You would think it would be easier to put it on the burger than put it in a cup. also lately I have noticed the customer service in this area sucks. When you go you end up with a teenage immature worker who has a bunch of friends hanging around and they mess up the order or they don't even care that you are there they continue to talk to their friends while I am giving my order. also the salt content has been a bit much lately. I have had to throw out numerous orders of fries and have complained to management at these places and it ALL remains the same. I find it extremely disturbing that MacDonalds would get a customer service award, it should be taken away immediately!

Saturday like so many other days they have about 5-6 people making the food and they mess up the sandwiches every time all day long. Also had one cashier going with three managers there. Taking five minutes for each person is to long to punch a registar. We ordered after standing in line 10 minutes and they over charged after telling the lady 4 times what we wanted...waited another 7 minutes while the manager tried to get to the regerstar to refund the money to us. Then I had to ask 2 times for our drink cups from the manager. Also asked for a plain cheesburger and got a cheeseburger with everything on it. Hubby got a Big Mac little lettuce and he didn't get that right either. After we sat for another 10 minutes the manager brought out the cookies for our g-daughter as there was none made and I had to ask for my g-daughters chocolate milk that we didn't get. While eating obsevered a gentleman with 2 little kids and he also didn't get the hamburgers that was suppose to be in the Kid's meal...he had to go and get them. We counted 4 people who went and tried to get ketcup out of the pump and there was none...the manager gave them packs of ketcup and after 15 minutes she finally told the guy who was supposly cleaning tables to check the ketcup. he did but after he checked it by changing something he squirted ketcup in a small pile on the plate under the pump and left the pile of ketcup. This happens every day ( 2 times a week) when we go there. As of today we no longer want to return to an unorganized resturant where you have to wait for fast food and always getting our order wrong. I have complained several times this year to the manager ( different ones ) and it still is not imprroving. I think these Managers and workers need a good meeting and told if not getting things done right...there ARE other people who are looking for a job. This does make people go to other buisnesses as it will us. Thanks for your time and hopefully something is done to improve this store as it is heading downhill instead of uphill like it should. Also a smile would not hurt from them either.

OMG! I really didn't realize how cheap McDonalds has actually become! We only have ONE McDonalds in this area, as it is a rural community and any other McDonalds is over thirty miles away in Douglasville Georgia! So.. not only are people getting laid off in this terrible economy...we NOW have to deal with INFERIOR products! My husband went to this McDonalds and ordered 2 biscuits with bacon, egg and cheese... when he got them home, I opened mine and it had just ONE HALF of a piece of bacon! I asked him to open his, as mine may have just been an oversight perhaps. Lo and behold his was exactly the same, that one little PITIFUL HALF PIECE of bacon! Now really, do you expect people to think that was a mistake? I know this sounds like a ridiculously little thing but it sure makes me NOT want to go to ANY McDonalds anymore and as you know... word of mouth spreads much faster than ANY advertising campaign, therefore you can be quite assured that I will be speaking against the McDonalds in Temple Georgia.
Signed Disilliusioned in Georgia!

My husband, son and I stopped in McDonald's this morning for breakfast. We ordered two sausage mcmuffin's w/egg combos and a sausage biscuit combo for my boy. There was no line when we ordered in the dining room and the cashier "Katelynn" who was a trainee was very fast and efficient.
My husband waited for our food while my son and I sat down.I noticed it had been ten minutes and my husband wasn't back with our food yet so I went to see what was going on.There was big line at this point and the poor cashier was doing everything(taking orders, making orders, drive-thru etc.) while five other people were just fooling around in the back of the kitchen.
We had all our food except the sausage biscuit and Katelynn came over and asked what we were waiting for.I said the sausage biscuit and she said "oh my God!Ok, I'll have for it for you in a second." She turned around and asked the cooks to make a sausage biscuit and they flat out said no to her.My husband started yelling at the cooks and demanded they make one and not have Katelynn do everything.
Also at that moment, customers were becoming angry and yelling at poor Katelynn who looked maybe 18 and she handled it very well. She went back to the kitchen and started making a sausage biscuit when her male co-worker yelled at her to get out.my husband yelled very loud for the manager and the manager "Karen" came up and started making excuses for everything and asking what Katelynn did.
My husband told her that Katelynn is the only one doing anything and that everyone else isn't working.Karen turned to Katelynn and gave her dirty look and my husband yelled obscenities to Karen and then we walked out of the restaurant without food or a refund but we figured if we asked for a refund poor Katelynn would start refunding our money and then get yelled at for her customer service skills by her good-for-nothing manager and good-for-nothing co-workers.
I am taking further action and hopefully this poor girl who is just trying to make money over her summer vacation will be treated better.

On September 27, 2007 @7:20am myself and, my husband went into the Mcdonalds @ 702 Washington St., Boston, MA for breakfast after we ordered our breakfast My, husband went to pay for it with his Debt card when the person working there said the machine does not work. So, I had cash on me. But, after about 10 mins a guy comes in and use his debt card with no problem. So, I seen it and went to the person working and, said why did you let that man pay for his with a debt card and, she said I did not know how to work it. First of all me and my husband being of color and, the guy that paid for his breakfast being a white man I was so upset. Not that I am prejustice it is the principle. My money spends like everybody us.

Thank you for your time!

On 5-21-08 I went to McDonalds and ordered the chicken sandwich combo with fries and coke. This was the all white meat chicken, but it was so terrible, it had no taste whatsoever, cooked too brown, and the fries, you could not even eat. I ate this sandwich but I would appreciate you sending me a refund or a certificate for another something to eat there. I will never eat a chicken sandwich again from your place. Also, it was so bland that my dog would not smell it.

The mc donalds in lexington tenn (the only one in lexington now) is the nastiest dirty restaurant, I have ever been in! The workers are rude mean and must not like there jobs or the public. They also are dishonest! And don't do there jobs well! My son and I had an order yesterday with them and we were charged 7.00 dollars for two plain burgers and didn't get our drinks or fries with our order the sack of burgers were sat on the counter and that was all! That is what happen when i went into the nasty stinking bath room that had no clean any thing in it and NO Tissue paper! I was so disgusted I just left. I will never go back there again I don't care if I am starving to death ill never order or eat there again they wont steal from me ever again.

After seeing the CBC documentary "Food Inc." on the passionate eye, I have only returned once to Macdonalds, only to get sick at the thought and the sight of their product.
Until Macdonalds cleans up it's act with the raising of cattle and other farm (or shoud I say, houses of horror, rather than farm) animals, so abhorent that the finsihed product has to be treated with amonia to reduce its toxic levels to marginally acceptable levels, I will never eat at these restaurants again. The cows / steers even have to be put on antibiotics from the time they are born to slaughter, in order to survive the force feeding of grain which is cheap but toxic to these creatures. There is an old saying that we are what we eat, and I dont thin Frankensteer makes the grade. Even the farmers who are force to raise their product's this way at the mercy of Macdonals dont agree with it have little choice to comply or get out of the business.

I know what you mean. Im 15 and they are terrible about my schedule. I understand its a fast food job, but the managers dont care if its a school night and you have to work till 12:30 AM. I told them i only wanted 10 hrs a week during school time because obviously education is more important than a high school job, and they gave me 16 hrs both of which are graveyard shifts. I told the managers and they said "its your problem", nooo...i already filled out a time availability sheet saying all the hours i work and that i couldnt work till 12 at night but they still give me those. I know that not everything can go your way, but all im asking for is for the managers to be understanding and empathetic. They couldve said, "we can try, " but instead they basically say they dont care. Employees should respect you based on how you respect them...not based on your authority.

McDonald's restaurant, beware when you get your money back always check because your money is less, the cashier will cheap you and the supervisor will cheat on the product you buy, will not give the right thing.check your food before leaving the restaurant Maybe the Owner of that McDonald's restaurant can't afford to pay them so there are making the money from customers and who knows the supervisor is making a cut from them. 12;50am April 7 2013 Location in Toronto Canada. Been working in mcdonalds for like 2 months now, I thought my last job has such ### scheduling but after working here...it's hell!
I made it specific that I would give closing shifts a try, for 1 weekend; The dumb manager put me on closing shifts for nearly the full 2months now. I'm so screwed in school, working 8-4a.m. fri-sun sucks donkey dick when you've got school Monday-Thursday at 6a.m. (College Student). I've complained like 50+ times already to the person in charge of scheduling but they just blow it off like nothing.

"Went through the drive thru and requested a lge coffee two cream"

"Note: A medium coffee is $1.45 plus tax = $1.67 at his store, so Coffee card, whuch covers a medium, plus 25 cents gives you a surplus of .02 cents, . The hostess was asking for .35 cents, the coffee is $1.90?"

so did you order a large or a medium? At first you stated you ordered a large, then you said it was a medium.

I worked at McDonald's for nearly 2 years (in high school). I didn't mind it all that much to be honest, i've heard some McDonald's horror stories but my place was actually pretty good to work at, most of the people were fun. That being said though, the store manager was a complete ###, treated everybody like Special Ed kids and having fun was basically banned whenever he was working. And despite the store getting busier during peak times, he CUT the amount of people working, making it increasingly stressful (especially since the burgers are now 'made to order') during peak times. There was also one employee who was a fat cow to put it nicely, she was rude to absolutely everyone (except managers, she sucked up to them). But overall it wasn't that bad in hindsight.

Hello Joan,

You should not have submitted your Telephone number on this American Complaints Board - now you will probably get calls from all sorts of Weirdo's !

This applies to ANY Forum / Complaints Board - I have known people to have to dispose of their Phone number / Buy a new mobile phone in order to stop the nuisance / weird calls - where their Mobile could not be unlocked to accept another SIM Card.

I have not seen an `Edit` facility on here - perhaps You can remove your number by Editing your Contact Information in your Profile - ?

I work at McDonalds in Australia. It is not as bad as people say, sure when it is busy it's hell (I work in the kitchen), you're expected to do so much at once, the pressure is insane. Some of my fellow employees are total bogans, the dregs of Australian society, and the way some of the managers treat you is completely dehumanising, they treat employees (trainees especially) like Special Ed kids.

But the upside of working at McDonalds is that it looks good on a resume, and you get paid. I know the pay isn't great (lets face it, it's minimum wage), but I live in a small town where there are virtually no other jobs available, so it's better than nothing.

As of 6/2012 I had to agree with some comments. Mc Donalds do not care much about who they leave in charge of the shop. My daughter is and has had a very hard time with immature managers in a shop in Kannapolis NC. Terrible place I know people who won't even go there anymore because of the childess and rude attitudes of managers and crew members. There is no way to complain because even the (suppose to be) grown up managers play the same childess game as the children. I am helping my daughter use this as a training tool on what not to do. Soon after she graduates I will help her get out of there...

I worked for mcdonalds for 3 years. I quit without notice at 17 due to CRAP working enviroment, nosey mgrs, lazy coworkers,
and being dogged and underappriciated. I got yelled at every single day, most of the time because I didnt follow their unwritten store policy and rules that they decided to make up on the spot. Nice One. On the day I quit(WHOOOAA!:)) They decided to illegally backdate my last paycheck with anotheron one of their stupid rules, and lower it .25 an hour. AND they would let me work at any other fast food place! All this place does is prepare for crap jobs with idiot, life sucking managers and rules. Maybe you should try treating others with respect and see how well your times improve. Dont worry... What comes around goes around as the saying goes; and I hope what bring Mcdonalds down down is a slow miserable death. Oh ..wait its already started- no one in those crap working conditions is going to want to go back and eat THERE.

Just a thought here but, when you're 15 and just starting out work and especially at a fast food place, is it EVER enjoyable? Very few people have pleasant "first job" experiences. I am now 20 and have had plenty of experience with the world of fast food work. It DOES get better. Chances are there are lots of things that go on that you don't know about. When I was 15 I lied to my parents about my shifts so I didn't have to go to a job where my boss treated me like crap. Some places are great and some places aren't. It has more to do with the management than with the actual franchise so grow up, stop blaming others, and allow your daughter to take some responsibility for herself. You whining and complaining will set a terrible example for her, is that what you want? If your daughter is old enough to work then she is old enough to deal with the management at HER job (again, not your job) so stop butting in or she will never be able to deal with conflict on her own. And I'm fairly certain you don't want a child with no conflict management skills, do you? You sound like you're 15, quit complaining. The work force is tough and we don't all get cushy office jobs at 15. Suck it up, or shut up.

McDonald’s employees seem to be rude no matter what the location. I am in TN and they are rude all the time. I had a huge order because I had my house warming party and everyone besides me was drunk; they ate all the food that was prepared before they drank and then wanted McDonalds. My purchase came to almost 50.00, which is a lot for that place and I asked for extra extra Ketchup. The woman at the window stated they had a 4 packet limit per fry no matter the size and a 12 pc. nugget was given 5. I kept asking for more ketchup because there was none at the house and I knew I was going to be dealing with drunks. The lady got rude with me and threatened me stating that she has kids my age and that she didn't like my disrespect, when I asked her how much they took out of her petty paycheck to pay for the packs. I was so mad and I pulled up and went in the store demanding a manager, the manager stated that she was right; if they have a limit and a price then it should be listed on the board, if not then they should give the customer what they want when there is a purchase made.

Needless to say, I got back to the house and the order was wrong and I had to call and speak to them again because I wasn't about to spend all that money on an order that wasn't made correct. Really, how much experience and common sense does it take to make a hamburger or count out nuggets and put them in a box? If they can count ketchups they should be able to figure out an order and make it right.

i have worked at mcdonalds for about 2 years now and boy does it SUCK! i agree with what everyone says here about their rude as hell managers, lazy teenagers who think the world owes them something and rude customers. HOWEVER..there is a plus side to this job ( a very small ) but still there plus side, you gain a HELL OF A LOT customer experience..working at this place you see it all and it really does prepare you. the pay is awful..i feel like we deal with too much and get paid too little. but, to the person who wrote this article..you should have went to the mcdonalds corporate office to discuss your daughters hours because they will actually agree and or help you UNLIKE managers who think they have the worlds greatest power or something. good luck to everyone that reads this that works at mcdonalds and HANG IN THERE ! I work at McDonalds now and I hate it but I just have to deal with it for now. The managers act like they're Gods and yes, they treat the team members like [censor]. They get so angry about orders that are messed up and some customers berate you for getting an order wrong. It's like they have no respect for you. It's hard to care for a minimum wage job when a lot of customers and managers have no respect and act like the world revolves around hamburgers. Really, I'm sick of being made to feel like crap over burgers and fries. I'm in nursing school and I can't wait to graduate. At least if I get yelled at in the future, it will be about something that matters like someone's life, not their lunch.

I'm really looking forward on moving up... And for those who call a job like mine a McJob, it ain't easy as you think, AT ALL. You have yo br fast, you have to multitask. I have to put coffee, hashbrowns, make orders, drinks, sometimes even take and charge the orders all at the same time... and even if you wanna runaway because of all the stress, you have to open that window, smile, be polite... McDonald's is a real challenge. But hey, I'm awesome, I can put up with all that and more. (;

Let me remind you McDonald's only prefers to promote married employees, Females, and old people. McDonald's only gives more hours to married employees, Females, and middle aged people. Older Males and Single Males have no future at McDonald's. I'm considering filing a complaint about this McDonald's and the regional supervisior to the state of Maryland for violation of civil rights and inhumane treatment.
