Woolworths South Africa Caramel and chocolate cake

On Thursday 9th January 2020, I purchased a chocolate & vanilla caramel tray bake cake at Woolworths Canterbury store cnr Bram Fisher and Hunter Road. We were horrified when we ate a few pieces of cake and noticed human hair inside the cake. First my wife took a bite and pulled out a long strand of hair from her mouth while eating the piece of cake.
The second strand of hair was found by me taking a bite of the chocolate cake and a disgusting strand was pulled from my mouth.
This disgusting hair made us throw up and our guests were horrified at this sight which left us embarrassed at our dinner party.

Please accord this matter your urgent attention as we request this to be investigated.

Note: Photos and evidence can be submitted upon request. We will be also lodging a complaint with the store tomorrow and will be taking proof of the hair strands which are clearly visible inside the cake.

Regards

Woolworths South Africa Lizo and lwazi gushman swore at me, stopped other employees from assisting me

Lizo and the Store Manager Lwazi Gushman in a tight blue suit need customer service training as they have shamed the name of Woolworths canal walk yesterday. After querying a meat price with Fezile, Lizo came out the back, said he can't sell the sirloin steak to me, grabbed the steak product out of my hands and said to Fezile it needs to go on waste. He took the product, claimed it and told Fezile it is Lizo's and gave it to Fezile to take to the back. This upset me as I wanted to buy the product for that price and now Lizo was going to buy the product on a larger discount on their staff 'waste'. I took my Time to select the product that fit in my budget range. The fact that Lizo grabbed the product upset me as I could see he was eager to buy the product for himself on 'waste' as he called it. I told him that he is rude to grab it out of my hands and he swore at me and walked away. This made me very angry as I felt he was abusing his power. He walked around where I walked and told his colleagues to ignore me when I asked them for his name and to assist me to find the pudding section. The best part is when the store manager Lwazi Gushman came. He literally made me more furious. Lwazi Gushman introduced himself as the store manager, I said I am losing my [censored] because lizo has grabbed the product out of my hands and then he swore at me and is stopping the other employees from assisting me. Lwazis first words were "ma'am if you are going to swear at me I am going to walk away" I told him I said I am going to lose my [censored], I am not swearing at him, then Lizo stood behind Lwazi Gushman with a big smile on his face. The store manager was more interested in the word "[censored]" than in the actual incident. I tried to explain what happened but Lwazi Gushman was not interested to listen because Lwazi Gushman kept on saying "you are making a noise" over and over again. He did not once apologize, or say anything to calm the situation. Lwazi Gushman as the store manager of woolworths canal walk made it worse especially when he said he will need to get a statement from Lizo before he can see who was at fault. How would he be able to see who is at fault when he did not even get my side of the incident? A simple apology could have defused the situation. But Lwazi Gushman as the store manager was so offended by the word "[censored]" and not interested to even hear what happened. Lwazi Gushman refused to give Lizo's name. I had to go back to the store today to find out Lizo's name. Deeply disappointed in the way I was treated by the staff and the manager of Woolworths.

Woolworths South Africa Credit card paid up letter

Please assist, I had a credit card with Woolworth's, which I settled last months. I requested the paid up letter, see attached. The account number showing on this letter is different from the one that I have, on my Credit card. On my Credit card, I have [protected] number on my credit card, that I have with me, and it's the one that is showing on my credit profile. I need a letter showing my credit card number as per credit report.

On the letter that I got form credit card customer service, the account number that is written there is [protected], ofwhich to me, it doesn't help me at all. The number that is showing on my credit profile is the one, ending with 0011 and I need that on the letter

Woolworths South Africa Velamints spearmints

This is the first time I've ever complained about a product sold by Woolworths, but it's the second time I've purchased a few Velamints in the past 2 months, only to be completely disappointed and frustrated with the fact that one cannot properly open the containers as it used to, plus the fact that there's a printed piece of paper now stuck onto the container stating "Spearmint Flavoured".

I presume there might be a new supplier, as it is far from the product I've purchased for years, yet this is not acceptable.

I'd like to know what the issue is and why Woolworths is happy to put up with same and sell it to loyal Shoppers in this manner. I expect more from Woolworths.

Jacques Mizen

Woolworths South Africa Beef lasagne

Good day
I bougtht a beef lasagne on [protected] from Woolworths Doringkloof in the amount of R229.99 and what a disappointment.
It was mostly tomato puree and a dash of mince.
I actually want to share the photos on Facebook to see if someone had the same experience.
You should change the name to Tomato lasagne, the Vegetarians would love it.
I request a voucher to this purchase.
Can I forward you the photos?

Woolworths South Africa David Jones classic collection clothing range

Dear Sir/Madam
Thank you for taking the time to read this serious complaint as I am sure that you are inundated with unnecessary complaints.
My daughter (Lara-Monique Solms-Coetzee) and my husband and I (D E A Simes) have been purchased ALL our clothing from Woollies for many, many years. However, the David Jones Classic Collection clothing range especially the Blue, Grey, Indigo and Black pants with the camel belt all fade (wash out). This is also applicable to the Black David Jones Classic Collection Black denims for men. We wash our clothing in cold water and iron it on the inside. We also use the Ariel washing powder for darker clothes. The three of us have spent thousands of Rands on these specific pants (we have two of each colour and my husband three) and we are very upset that after only wearing them a couple of times they fade and look old. My daughter and I both wear size 14 and my husband wears size 40 (79" length). The other colours namely white, light grey and pink are perfect). I also purchased a blue David Jones jacket which also faded.
I believe it is important that the David Jones Classic Collection clothing range specifically the darker colours should be investigated. What would you suggest what is the solution. Please take this matter as serious. If your require fotos, I can forward it to you. You are more than welcome to check our purchases in both South Africa and Namibia where my daughter is currently staying.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Kind regards D E A Simes (Elise)

Woolworths South Africa unavailability of specials on promotion

This is the second time that Woolworth's have advertised two products that were not available in stores.
The products ‘Creamy spinach potato bake' R 49, 99 and ‘spicy potato & spinach fritters' R52, 99.The first promotion i tried to get products from
Woolworths Lifestyle and Woolworths Clearwater in Roodepoort.
The second promotion is this week and we are in Umhlanga I tried Woolworths Lagoon Drive and I was advised by the store that I should visit a larger store as specials are not always delivered to smaller stores. I then went to Gateway shopping Centre and sure enough no stock once again after enquiry.
This is disappointing and not what I expect from any Woolies store. Regards Marina

Woolworths South Africa grilled chicken

Good afternoon

Just thought I will bring this under your attention. Was at your westgate mall, mitchells plains store on Sunday morning to get a whole grilled chicken for sunday lunch. Was told that the chicken came out recently. Was very dissapointed. It only looked nice, but it was very dry. My husband had cheese and rolls for supper even though I had chicken left over from lunch. I was so nauseous, due to the fact that I had to take the giblets out. dont your kitchen staff clean the chicken before roasting. I will never buy a roast chicken again at woolworths. I always bought at checkers, but thought lets have nice chicken for lunch. The quality of your food has dropped.

SO DISSAPOINTED, BUT NEVERTHELESS

Woolworths South Africa service from complaint lodged

Complaint ignored! Disgusted at Woolworths lack of customer service!
I purchased a punnet of strawberries 250gm for R44.99 at one of the Woolworths Food departments. They were sour!
I logged a formal complaint on HissyKitty about sour strawberries and received an automated response saying someone would contact me in 48 hours. It is now more than a week later and nothing!
I had to chuck the product away as the strawberries became moldy.
Woolworths advertisers how much they care - well talk is cheap!

Woolworths South Africa accounts department

I called to check my balance on my woollies card and credit card, and I was told since it is handed over to a collections agency, they can't give me the balance I have to call the agency...My problem is why your accounts people don't have the balance on their system or data base to just give the customers when they need it regardless of it being handed over?, you as the people I have the account with must have the details for your costumers when they need it. That make sense to me because I opened the account with you not some third part person...and calling these different agencies has wasted my airtime time and energy they take too long to answer and it sucks cause I already wasted enough time talking to your accounts department just to be referred to someone else again. I think you guys should have the information and be able to give the customer the balance for heavens sake then the details and repayment the customer can call your third part agency to discuss it. that would be most appreciated and fair to us as your customers.

Woolworths South Africa rude treatment by cashier at mall of africa

Sadly, I need to submit a personal complaint about a specific staff member at the mall of africa branch. On monday, 2 april 2018, I took my 6 year old daughter shopping for clothing at this branch. It was insanely busy due to the public holiday and so I was very disappointed to see only two cashiers on duty at the clothing section. The queue was terribly long, but as I was shopping for my daughter and not myself, I decided to endure the wait, even though I was time constrained. When I reached the cashier, a ms nomvula simelane, she asked me in a rather irritated tone if I had not noticed that the tags on the boots that I wanted to purchase were incorrect. Unfortunately, not being trained in woolworths' systems, I was obviously unaware of this issue when I picked up the items. I told her not to worry about the boots and that I would leave them as I was in fact in a bit of a hurry... Ms simelane rang up my other items and then without a word or any eye contact, grabbed the boots and marched off into the store to find another pair. She ignored me calling after her to tell her not to worry and after a good 15 minute wait, she came marching back past me to enter the store room. Again, I called after her as she walked directly next to me and again she completely ignored me. Even the other shoppers were watching her and shaking their heads or giving me a supportive half smile as they saw how she was blatantly ignoring me. Eventually after yet another wait, and the queue now doubling in length, she came back to inform me that the boots were incorrectly marked and that she could not ring them up. I expressed to her that I was not worried and that although I appreciated that she tried to find a replacement pair, I had right from the start asked her to please leave them. She looked up at me and rather indignantly and very irritated shouted "what?!" it was the first time that she had actually looked at me from the beginning of the whole transaction. I repeated to her that I had told her not to worry about the boots and said to her that she simply was not listening to me. She displayed a completely offish attitude and very roughly put through my payment for the rest of the goods. My 6 year old was astounded and kept asking me after what was wrong and why was the lady so angry. If I was buying for myself and not for my daughter, I would have left your store without my purchase. I think that ms simelane needs to be reminded what customer service is about and that not only is it polite to look your customers in the face, but that listening to their requests is quite expected as well. Just on a side note, your manageress who was standing by and witnessing the entire incident didn't bat an eye-lid and it would have been nice if she too took her role seriously and actually assisted. I would also have expected her to notice the now 20 person queue and maybe also try to assist on an extra till, or at least get my issue resolved to free up the only other working till on the day. I am terribly disappointed with this experience as I have only ever had friendly, helpful and excellent service at any other woolworths branch. One bad experience leaves a bad taste in the mouth and I will not be going back to this branch because of the rudeness with which I was treated. I was completely calm throughout the process. I never once was rude to ms simelane and I even expressed gratitude at her attempt to help me, even if I hadn't wanted her to. I did not deserve her disrespect and my daughter did not need to see that either.

Woolworths South Africa management at woolworths westgate mall, johannesburg

I went to Woolworths last Saturday to purchase clothes for my son and to also buy myself a cell phone, everything went well with the clothing department, I got the clothes I wanted and even with payment I had no problem, but my problem was when I had to buy the phone, I went to the stall where phones are displayed in a glass at around 15:20.. The sales assistant wasn't there and no manager on sight as well, I asked one of the ladies who works there to assist and she also vanished, after a good 45 minutes or so, the sales lady comes.. stressed as well with her manager, and the managers name is Khosi (Pam) and she apparently has the other set of keys to open the display if one wants to buy a phone, but she is never there when customers come, 3 customers before me left because of that, that very same day and 1 left as I stood there waiting for assistance.. the sales lady tried calling Khosi even went looking for her without any luck for about an hour or so! I don't think I have ever been so angry! until an old man, also a manager at the foods department Mr Japie came and once he found out what the problem was, he went in search for the other set of keys, in about 15 minutes he was back and they could open the display. Now what annoyed me the most is that as I was about to finish paying it was almost 17:00 and the "manager" comes... And she couldn't care any less about the inconvenience she had coursed us, pretended we weren't even there, even when she was asked where she was she just said she told everyone she was 'going out'.. when asked about the key, why she didn't leave it with other managers, since she has now inconvenienced us and has also lost the company about 4 customers, she said "bazoba strong" meaning we shall be strong, indicating that she really doesn't care! can this issue be dealt with please? you can't have a department manager who clearly doesn't care about her customers, I don't see how this works and I am certain I am not the only one complaining about this!.. I am really annoyed even as I am typing this, this is not how customer service should work.. at all! I would appreciate a response on this. thank you.

Woolworths South Africa non-issuing of my store card on two occasions

I applied for my woolworths store card online early in December 2016 and I immediately got a reply that my store card application is still being processed and I was surprised. Then I realised that I once applied for the Woolworths store card early in 2016 if my memory serves me right at the Woolworths Store at Wonderpark branch but did not go through with it as I forgot about submitting the required documentation (i.e. my salary advice and my bank statements). So I followed it up at the Woolworths Store on the 16 December 2016. They checked me on their system with my I. D Book and they even printed for me a temporary store card so that I can shop on that day and the consultant at the call centre promised me that my Woolworths Store Card will be delivered in two weeks but it was not issued and delivered as promised. I again went back to the Woolworths Store at Wonderpark branch and we contacted the Call centre again and I spoke to the Consultant and she promised me that they will issue me another store card, and deliver it in the branch, as it was delivered but to date I never received any letter with a store card from Woolworths, except only my Woolworths estatements. And I went and checked it again early in January 2017 and I still have not found it and I could not wait again for the shop assistants to call the Call Centre again for me. And I don't even know my account number as on my estatement is not complete. And this is hampering me to pay my account with ease, especially online payment, because Wonderpark is too far from where I stay.
