How responsive is Woolworths's customer service?

Very poor 🤒
We don't know much about how Woolworths handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. But until that happens, we ask reviewers to be cautious when dealing with Woolworths and using their services, and to carefully read the experiences of other customers on ComplaintsBoard, because who is warned is armed, you know! 💪

Woolworths chatswood branch issues

Hi,

Went to this store and it had nothing available, no cabbages, no whiskers cat milk, no aveeno moisturizer lotion. These were on special so went to get these. Then Hoki and chobani yoghurt were on special but had no labels so had to wait until checkout to see if they were on special as first thought. Staff didn't seem to know what was what.

Not a great day for Woolworths I'm afraid

Thx

Woolworths woolworths select corn cobbettes 425 grams

I purchased this product today 21/2/18. They have an expiry of 27/2/18. I washed them before boiling them in water, for dinner. After adding butter and salt I took a big bite and nearly spat it all over the table. They taste like they have been soaked in kerosene! I made my housemate taste them (in case I was having a moment) and they had the same experience. They have an extreme bitter and burning sensation (especially towards the back and sides of your mouth and throat) whilst trying to eat them! I'm very concerned about what chemical residue is on them, as they were thoroughly washed and the potential danger to others who could consume them. (Eg if parents force children to eat them without tasting them themselves)!

Woolworths rat eaten bread

Hi I bought a loaf of Alpine Breads this evening - got home to discover a quarter of the loaf has been eaten by what seems a rat which has broken though the packet and eaten the bread.
I did not notice in the shops and neither did the check out chick.
Disgusts me. Why are there rats or animals like that even in the warehouse or where the food is stored and transported in.
Puts me off buying bread again from woolworths. This has never happened at Coles before and I have been buying this brand of bread for years.

Woolworths white bread

I've purchased white bread yesterday from woolworths golden grove and I found a fly inside the bag and it's still alive... I'm very disappointed! I've checked the ingredients just to make sure that flies are not included!
Disgusted by what I saw as I always trusted woolworths products but from now on I have to be extra careful when it comes to buy anything from there.

Woolworths angus beef burgers sea salt & cracked pepper

I recently purchased 3packs of the above items to use as hamburger patties for dinner . We cooked them in the fry pan . They were tough, chewy, and even little fatty . My family were unable to eat them. This is really poor considering it is supposed to be quality meat and not cheap.
I would like a refund or a voucher for my next shop.

We have shopped at woollies all our lives.

I also kept a brocade from 1 of the packs.

It is [protected].

Was about to use it, checked date of use, it says use by 12/2017.

Checked on the shelf today, still all the bottles have the same date and on sale.

Is it good to use or it has expired.

Can you email back has the product expired and Woolworths has forgotten to remove the product.

Woolworths pre packaged meals

I bought two Proscuitto wrapped chicken with creamy mash and carrots. Was slightly disappointed with the first one as there was one square cm of prosciutto on chicken, not wrapped. As I had one previously, I was annoyed but I wasn't going to make a complaint, after some thought. Well imagine my face when I opened the second one to eat after a long day at 10.15pm tonight (no hope of any other food for me as I do not drive) I opened some sort of curry and rice. Once, okay.. twice in a row? you cannot be serious? I am starving and very angry with no recourse at this time of night, so I go to bed to try to sleep regardless of this mood I have been placed in. I am furious and getting angrier as I type. This is going on Facebook tomorrow morning as I have to sleep now for fear of getting angrier with each moment.

Woolworths unethical behavior from an older female employee serving me as well as (giving me a threatening serving) whilst getting my groceries put through.

Hello, I am writing this complaint not long after I have come home from Lithgow Woolworths shopping complex and packing my frozen's on a Saturday evening where I intended to enjoy the rest of the evening with my family. Instead the cupboard food is still bagged up waiting for me to unpack them on a evening we all were planning to have an easy one.

My experience I just received at the Woolworth's center was appalling from a women who seemed to be close to her 60 s, blond hard (I'd say died, classes, middle height, and not too slim, white skin) in description. I was served at 21.12 at store 1242 POS 007 Trans 7471 on the 17/02/2018.

I spent 113.11 $$$ from my hard earned work money and was not expecting what I received as a 45 year old respected member of my community I was born in. The issues started before I was served as I approached the small express counter (which was the only thing opened to serve my large order), I asked is this the only one open? The lady was packing away money and snapped at me for asking.

I approached the counter she told me to go to, and she told me to unload the items, (mind you there were lots). Let me tell you I had a pleasant shop prior to approaching the counter, interacting with other staff members quite pleasantly at the Deli and in the Isles, having a job with a staff member, and note I had my 6 year old twins with me whom I protect and keep from harm.

This women came over and started ordering me around, telling me where to put things, pick items up off the shelf part onto the serving part, meanwhile, she was flustered in communicating this to me, and was wanting me to be very, very, quick, as quick to keep up with her scanning my items. She would breath as if flustered, ect do you get the picture.

She packed my items in bags with soda bottles, and ice cream cones, and sponge and laundry items with light bulbs, and underpants with fruit, with 4 Litre milk cartons in one thin plastic bag that had a piece in it already, she slammed the items in the bags as she threatened me for being too slow, and told me to do things when I was still unpacking, her being flustered again at me, making me be too quick and basically wanting me out the door before I got served and serving the next customer ideology before they arrived to be next, get the picture.

The items were getting bagged up and the room was running out where she put the bagged items, and I was still unpacking and she was asking me to bring the items up and scanning before I could grab another item, and again making me feel like I am a [censor], so I said I was in bush time, I am going as quick as I can, I dont like jumping into others anxieties as its transparent, I then quickly went to get a trolley to fit it all as I had a smaller basket on wheels to put the bagged items in so she had room to put new bagged items there, she glared at me for doing that, breathing heavy again, she was, as if I was some mistake, and carrying on in body language, I said I am going as fast as I can, ect, and she just gave me lip for naming what was going on, denying her behavior.

Because I named what she was doing she started carrying on, I could not go faster but she expected me too. I was not treated fairly. She started complaining to me that she is not paid to serve customers like me, it was obviously some kind of discrimination, and she expected me to keep up, she said it was because she was efficient and I was not. She told me she did not come to work to serve people like me and she continued to growl at me, and stare frozen looks, with her lips pierced, threatened to void my shopping and ban me from returning.

I said I was going to complain to the Manager as I did not come to spend my hard earned dollars to be lectured, told off and threatened. She said she would complain first.

So hear I am kids at foot wanting to watch the promised movie over ice cream from Wollies, one asleep already, one waiting and others too, so I can tell you what happened. In the car park was a friend whom I told the story too and she said last week she had a problem with the same lady as I pointed her out, as this lady had now left the counter and was standing at the window looking at me from the bottle shop.

She said she wanted to make a complaint too, and to go home and make it on line asap. My friend Lina said she will never be served by this women again, and I said I would do the same thing too, actually to the women who served me after she threatened me that I will never be served there again, I actually said yes I would that I would avoid her. I told her I have had no trouble with any one else.

It does not seem fair to me that a person should act like this. The attitude started when I asked her if it was ok to be served at this counter with a big order as it was the only checkout open. I can understand she was busy but why take it out on the customer? I am not wanting to make sure she is repremanded, and I want the video watched to show how not to serve a customer for the new ones who are up and coming into your service.

She had no right, to abuse me in front of my children and other employees and my children, , and I have proof she is like that by another. I would not write in if I was making it up or I deserved this.

You know what she did when I seen that the chocolates and and heavy products and laundry products were together, my concern squashed food and also the ice cream cones were in with the soda betting crushed, I said could I have another bag for the breakable and squashed products from the heavy and contaminating products, well that was the straw that broke the camels back for her? Like I said she wanted me out the door before I was served. She discriminated against me for what ever reason, she was having a bad day or tired or what ever, by the time it was time to show her my rewards card I could have thrown it at her as it seemed to her like another time wasting activity, and I swear I will never ever enter that market again unless I get an apology form her, and she is informed by this complaint.

How many others? My evening is ruined and as the family is not a family evening no more. This needs to be sorted as I am well liked in Lithgow. Some kind of compensation preferable.

Woolworths identification

I am a 20 year old that had travelled from New Zealand for a few days and went into your stores in the Southern Cross trainstaion just now. The guard asked for my ID and I handed him my current New Zealand drivers license that I have held for 2 years to find out that its not a valid form of ID. This is not only denying you countless amount of service and sales but also makes you all look like fools after we just spent the whole night in the casino, the place that you need ID the most, and both my partner and I's ID were accepted. I am astonished that you would not accept your closest partnered country's driver license as identification. I would expect more from a franchise of your size, you are currently very narrow minded in a tourist sponsored country.

Woolworths rockmelon & watermelon

I purchased a rockmelon from your hackham store 3 days ago. I cut it the day after & it looked fine. It had no taste & was rock hard. I was so dissapointed. Its not the first time I have had uneatable fruit as on two separate occasions this summer I have bought watermelon only to find it was uneatable too. It was tasteless & had soft mushy bits through it & around the edge. I am an old age pensioner & only go to shops when I can get a lifr so I didnt bother returning any of it. I went to foodland instead & both melons I bought from them was great. Hackham woolies is my local shop where I do all my shopping & the stuff are great there so this is upsetting. Regards. Chris

Woolworths avocados

I recently bouggt a re-package 3 pack of hass avocados from Woolworths in Coomera. I was sure to make sure the avocados were not yet too ripe (slightly green and firm) the very next day one of the avocados was slightly less firm, upon cutting it open, it was completely brown on the inside. Disappointed I cut open a second one, still firm and slightly green. It too was brown on the inside. I paid $6.50 for this packet only to find 2/3 of the product completely inedible.

Woolworths disrespect for organic produce

I've been purchasing organic produce at this particular store for the past 9 months. I've become more and more annoyed with how this section is obviously treated with disregard and disrespect.
Most of the time is very messy, as if produce is just thrown on the shelf. Sometimes the produce is all mixed up.
The majority of the time, the price labels don't match the produce behind them and some times there's no label at all for what's on the shelf.
Why is this section treated in this manner when the rest of the produce section looks neat and tidy?
I only shop organic and I'm tired of doing someone else's job by moving the labels so other people don't get confused, when I don't even work there.

Woolworths broccoli

Hi woolies

I just purchased a small amount of broccoli for lunch today at Woolworth in Forest Lake, Thornlie.

The Broccoli was washed and cut into pieces before I put them in boiling hot water.

After several minutes gone by I saw little worms floating around in the water.

The rest of the broccoli was thrown into the bin except the ones in the container (evidence).

Woolworths packed apples

Just visited Woolworths Byron Bay where they had a display of pre-packaged apples on sale for $3.50. When I went through the check out with them they scanned at $5.90. I questioned this and took a rep to the display. She pointed out that the sign said in fine print Gala apples. However, there were no Gala apples in the display, only Pink Lady. No price was displayed for Pink Lady. She didn't think it was a problem.
I left angry and doubt I will shop there again. It was sneaky and depended on shoppers taking them without realising the true price. Not good enough Woolies. I have shopped with you for 45 years, but am not happy about these sneaky tactics

Woolworths harmony wild bird lorikeet and honeyeater powder.

Woolworths sell a 500 gram bag of this product for $9.16 per bag. Big W. sell a 2 kilo bag of the same product, same manufacturer, etc for $19.00.
A 500 gram bag costs $9.16.
FOUR 500 gram bags will equal 2 kilos.
$9.16 multiplied by four = $36.64... A whopping price difference for the same amount of the same product, produced by the same company.
If Big W. can sell a 2 kilo bag for $19.00 and make a reasonable profit it is happy with... then why is Woolworths grossly overcharging the public with this ridiculously over priced item for a whopping $17.64 profit?
As four 500 gram bags equate to 2 kilos, then Woolworths should be selling their 500 gram bags for around $5 / $6 each.
I can hardly wait to hear your explanation and why you are grossly overcharging the public for this product. I eagerly await Woolworths explanation... and a sensible reduction in price.

Woolworths woolies gluten free whitechoc, coconut & lemon biscuits

I just bought from Woolworth in Warwick Qld today the 14/02/18 a packet of biscuits along with a lot of other groceries. I get home to Inglewood qld which is a hour and a half away open the packet and half the packet is empty. It hadn't been opened in the supermarket as it was still sealed when I opened it. A replacement would be good but I don't go into Warwick regularly and we don't have a woollies here in Inglewood.

Woolworths caffitaly machine.

Today Monday 12th February I went to Dapto Woolworths to return a faulty Caffitaly coffee machine.
I was informed that it was not possible and to call the manufacturer on the number supplied . On calling them they informed me to take it back place of purchase . So I returned again to Dapto to get my refund or replacement and again was told that this could not happen and that I would have had to be sent back at my expense to the manufacturer, this inconvenience for a disabled pensioner like myself just isn't good enough especially when I have purchased a faulty product .
My sheer frustration with not being able get a simple issue to be resolved, I left the machine and receipts of purchase with the counter staff .
As the product you supply is faulty and in warranty I feel I should have been able to easily receive a refund or replacement.
Regards
Brian Goodwin

Woolworths essentials coconut milk

Bought 15 tins of the essential coconut milk, after opening the second tin I found paper in the tin, I will provide photos with batch number.
I was discussed with what I could and do not feel like using the remaining tins or buying these in the future.
The paper in the tin seems to be dirty with little bits of green marks on it.
I would like to know how the process could allow this to happen?
