Very poor 🤒
We don't know much about how Woolworths handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. But until that happens, we ask reviewers to be cautious when dealing with Woolworths and using their services, and to carefully read the experiences of other customers on ComplaintsBoard, because who is warned is armed, you know! 💪

Woolworths cat food and poor attitude

Woolworths in Erskineville, Sydney, NSW recently stopped stocking 400g cans of cat food, leaving only expensive small cans and sachets. I have tried at least 3 times to make a complaint about this to local store staff - they have no interest. This afternoon Tim said he had "no interest and didn't care if had a complaint" and told me to "take your attitude elsewhere" when I tried to explain that it only left expensive options. Obviously the local staff feel disempowered which results in a poor attitude. They don't care and I assume that Woolworths don't care either. The company limiting options on things like cat food is a nasty little price gouge. Makes me feel that Woolworths is not a reputable company and don't allow local staff to address reasonable concerns from their customers.

Woolworths? There hasn't been a Woolworths store in America for 5o years (at least)! Maybe that guy with the expensive cat food complaint should get back on his horse and head out to a nice silent movie...I hear there's a new one with Tom Mix starting tonight at the Bijou in Sydney.

Woolworths limit 2 toddlers milk formula??

Saw a shopper in Flemings Jannali buying toddlers milk formula. He bought 2 at a time but he bought an unlimited quantity 2 at a time. This was around 7.30pm on a week night. Why are you allowing this when this shopper could be purchasing this for resale AND then more importantly the stock isn't available for the every day customer? The cashier just kept selling it to the same person over and over and over... thats not how limit of 2 per customer works... or is it about $$s?
When sales of a product escalate wouldn't that show an increase in demand that would also increase price?

Woolworths meat

Recently I purchased a 6 pack of lamb forequarter chops. The meat for the most part had been tough but the chop I served my husband with last night was bone and gristle. He only managed to get a small portion of meat off of it. This is now the second time I have complained about the same product. Cheap quality meat will not bring me back to shop. Very disappointed.

Woolworths entire shopping experience

I normally do my shopping at Woolworths all the time but have never gone on a Tuesday. Last night I went and was horrified. The shop may as well have been closed. I only picked up a quarter of what I needed, it was overwhelming and stressful. I arrived around 7pm approximately and there was stock everywhere, people pushing massive trolleys full and all the isles were busy with staff and stock. Not only that all of the weeks specials were being removed from not only the end isles which was annoying, but literally in front of my eyes at lightning speed. I had to say to someone, can you please wait so I can see what's on sale tonight. Other tickets which were removed I didn't even know where on sale. I spoke to a few staff and they said they had to get it done so at 9pm when the store closed they can place the new tickets. I told them I understand but it's not fair for myself and others shopping tonight. The shop should have been shut, it was uninviting, busy with staff and stock and rearranging and pulling off tickets. This really needs to be done at 9pm not 7pm. The deli already had stock out on the bench as well, so you couldn't see price or stock. I know I went at night but I have never experienced such a bad feel. I also spoke to the supervisor and asked her to pass on my concerns, she said she would and that they (staff) had started a lot earlier tonight she wasnt sure why. But my concern is, it's not fair first not knowing your sales that are on, I'm not psychic but also how frustrating it was with so much staff and stock. I really felt like I should t have been there and it was closed. Very annoyed and upset as I attempted to do my shopping, but never ever again on a Tuesday night.

Woolworths music being played in your stores

Could you please explain your reason for having loud songs being played. I personally suffer from deafness in my left and right ear and i dont wear hearing aids and the songs are so loud and from an older persons point of view rubbish songs. I am a loyal shopper, but i can't stand shopping with the songs so loud. Awaiting your reply. Kind regards Keith Hargreaves. [protected]. [protected]@gmail.com

Woolworths fruit from the fresh food people not so fresh

I bought some plums today 24/04/2018 from Woolworths. I have attached photos of the dried up plums and the receipt for the purchase. I would like a credit for the $2.89 I paid. This is not the first time I have been disappointed with fruit and vegetables from Woolworths. I live 25 kilometres from Woolworths so a 50 kilometre round trip is not a feasible option.
I think I will do this every time I get bad fruit or vegetables, if I am refunded then maybe I won't be so frightened to buy these items in the future.
thank-you for your time.

Woolworths woolworths beef and pork sausage

I have provided photos of the sausage that I cooked last night. The pile is just some of the hard grizzly bits I took out when breaking them up for a dish I was making. Who knows what the other tubular piece of organ matter is..! I had already thrown other bits out before I decided to ‘collect' and photograph them. My daughter also got more bits when she ate the actual meal. I cannot believe this is considered acceptable for human consumption. Maybe for dog food! Can you get back to me pls and let me know whether you consider this an acceptable standard of food for human consumption.
Regards
Felicity Massey

Woolworths service

Thought I would give Woolworths a try online, I am a disabled pensioner, I put in my order and the money was immediately taken out of my bank account, I got up at 5 am the next morning and waited all day for my delivery that did not arrive, the next day being Saturday I rang the online ph no and that was the beginning of hell, I spent over 8 hrs on the phone [mobile charges] and was told I'd be rang back 4 times but after 3 hrs I rang back then was told there had been a glitch in my order, it had happened before and they'd ring me back in 15 mins but 2 hrs later I had to ring back this went on until nearly 9 pm then they told me there was nothing they could do until the manager came in Monday morning by this time I was extremely upset and angry they told me the manager would ring me first thing Monday morning guess what I had to ring Monday morning I finally got my money back Tuesday, I have never been so stressed I foster cats I had 7 to feed I used my roasts that I had in my freezer to feed them, I had no milk and a crust of bread to eat, I have been treated disgustingly by Woolworths, I have asked for a written apology and my meat replaced I was told I'd be contacted but guess what I haven't been contacted

Woolworths free from gluten choc chip & lemon & coconut biscuits

I have been purchasing Free from Gluten Choc Chip and Lemon & Cocunt biscuits for several years and have thoroughly enjoyed a biscuit that tasted and crumbles like a biscuit not cardboard. However we have not been able to purchase the lemon biscuits for some time which has been very disappointing. We had noticed the change in the packaging on the Choc chip biscuits and though nothing of it since products have changes all the time to stay marketable. The first packet of Choc chip biscuits bought with the new packaging we noticed the biscuits were harder, not crumbling and not as tasty as they used to be, and didn't really pay to much attention to the fact that the biscuits were different. I thought I had just bought a product that may have been at the end of the batch and dismissed it. However we have now bought several packets and after this last packet we will not be buying them again as they are now tasting like most of the other products on the shelf tasteless and a hard cardboard texture! Its a shame the recipe has changed because you you were on a winner from our perspective. We used to purchase 6 packets of biscuits a week, 3 of choc Chip and 3 of the Lemon & Coconut.

Woolworths meat department

I purchased what I assumed to be 3 nice sized Beef Schnitzel's, but was horrified to find 1 nice size, another piece 1 1/2 inches wide and a third piece 1 inch wide hidden under the large piece. This is trickery! There was not enough for me to feed my guests! This has really put me off buying meat from chain food stores as it's obvious I don't really know what I'm getting. Shame on Woolworths for fooling their customers.

Woolworths frozen chips

Dear Woolworths. On Thursday the 19th of April I purchased Woolworths home brand frozen chips. Tonight I cooked up the Woolworths home brand frozen chips. Tonight while eating my dinner I chewed on a chip and I bit on something hard. I instantly took everything out of my mouth. I then discovered a rock in my chip. I now have teeth pain. I have attached a photo of the rock.

Woolworths price discrepancy

Hi,

This morning around 8am I visited the Woolworths store opposite Flinders Street Station in Melbourne CBD. I wished to purchase a sandwich deal (I was not previously aware that this was available) and read what products were included. I chose a ham and salad baguette and a can of Sprite before proceeding to the self-serve checkout. The prices of the products did not correctly scan through; instead they were entered at their regular price, and I was quite confused. After some discussion, the staff came to the conclusion that the particular sandwich was not part of the deal. This is where my issue lies.
I believed that the sandwich did meet the criteria of making the deal. Now, if I was incorrect, then the placement of both the product and the deal information labels could be considered false advertising. The labels were placed underneath the products that could make up the deal, so why, if this type of sandwich couldn't be in the deal, were they placed with the other products and why were the labels all around them?
In the end, I decided not to purchase any of this type of product. I know that there is not much that you will be able to offer me, but I request that you have a look at how products are displayed so that you are less likely to be accused of overcharging other customers.

Kind regards,
Caitlin Potter

Woolworths red rock deli roasted peanuts sweet honey and seasalt

I purchased a pack from Woolworths Chatswood station and opened to eat it as soon as I came home on the same day, 18/04/2018. The peanuts tasted a bit weird and not crunchy to the point that it tasted really moist. As I inspected the whole package, I saw what seemed to be something that was nibbled by a rat. It already had a hole in it!. Completely felt disgusted as I already had tasted it.

Woolworths deli prepacked chicken pesto salad

I bought this product from woolworths glendale, it had a use by date of the 19th of April . When I went to eat it, it had shards of chicken bone mixed through it, which I found by choking on them. Needless to say I threw the rest in the bin. I know that they are not made in store but you really need to speak with the suppliers sharp bone fragments could cause serious harm.

Woolworths baked goods

Good evening,

I recently purchase a pack of mini apple Danish for a family gathering.

Excellent product with one small fault!

Most were consumed and enjoyed only to find a 213mm blonde hair intwined in the pastry of one.

The person who found the hair, of course, was the person of the day.

The day did not go well from there.

Have pictures if required.

Woolworths complaint no. [protected]

Hi,
I'm just wanting to know if you received my complaint I sent in just before Easter. I was given a complaint number: [protected] but I haven't heard anything back. All I want to know is if it was received or not before I decide whether I'm going to change to a different grocery store.

I have been loyal to Woolworths for over 30 years, spending roughly $350 p/wk, which is(over $500, 000 and I have never complained before, but I just need to know if you have a record of my complaint.

Woolworths cooked chicken

Hi,

Im very delayed in writing my complaint however i feel it is a very important issue and needs to be addressed. Last July 2017 my partner bought a cooked chicken from Woolworths in Willetton, Perth. A couple of hours after eating some of the chicken he had severe vomiting and diarrhoea for 3 days. I assumed he had food poising from the chicken however it had passed after a few days. My partner and I then went to Thailand, about 3 week later he again he came down with severe vomiting and diarrhoea. At this point he was hospitalised for 3 days. About 2 weeks after we got back to Australia again he had the same symptoms the doctors checked for salmonella and it was confirmed that he had it.

Since then we are very hesitant to shop at Woolworths which is a shame as it was the main supermarket we shopped at.

I would like you to off my partner and I a resolution as he lost 4 days pay of work and from the salmonella we had to pay our excess of $500 for insurance due to the 3 days in hospital overseas.

I feel its important you take responsibility for what happened as we use to be very loyal customers. Salmonella is a very serious issue and is not acceptable.

Kind Regards,
Heather Watts

Woolworths homebrand meat pie

Tonight 14/4/18 my 2 daughters went into Yarra Junction Woolworths and brought 2 meat pies @ 75¢ each, for their dinner.Once home miss 14 looked at the date and then asked me what the date was, I said 14th April which she then replied "my pie is out of date" 07/04/2018. I rang the store to let them know and that now I had to travel another 15 minutes to return and get another one. Once there my girls got told to go grab another and that was that. My girls went and grabbed one plus another few out of date pies and handed them in. That is not right they were notified they should of been taken out of the freezer once our phone call had ended, a job for a store member not my 11 and 14 yr Olds. As for being told we would receive a refund that didn't happen either as much as it was only 75¢ it's that fact that we had to drive 4 trips there twice and home twice it cost me more in diesel for a error that should not of happened and was out of our control,

Woolworths woolworths lemonade zero sugar

There are not enough of this product in store and not being able to get a quantity put on hold for me. Apparently only one box was to be delivered to this store this week. I've found in the last few weeks the same thing has happened. Not very good for the only store on the copper coast. The on duty manager is the person who said I cannot order or hold any of this product. Not very co operative.
