Oh, one last detail. The charge was for $34. 99. The thing that makes me so mad about this is that it costs the bank money to re - issue the card. It is also a hassle as it will take 7 - 10 days to receive the replacement card - at xmas time. I live in ct (Outside nyc). What states do all of you others that had this same problem live in? I've heard about these scams where guys sit in their cars and have a computer that is rigged to rip off credit card numbers as they are swiped when you make a purchase. Isn't wireless technology wonderful. I wonder if this is that scam. I have used this particular card so little, that i'm guessing it is some scam like this. Kudos to the credit card company for reversing out the charges the same day.

WMV*MATCH.COM [protected] TX also posted an unauthorized/fraudulent charge on my credit card. The credit card company reversed out the charge on the same day it was posted, so they must have been on to this scam. When I called the credit card company, they recommended cancelling the card.

1/14/2012-I too just found this(WMV*MATCH.Com) and another(EZETOP*TOPUP) unauthorized charges on my bankcard. I do not know how this happen it is a good thing that I have identity theft though my bank. I do not have to pay for these charges and hopefully the overdraft fees either. Please add this other company on your list, so that others can watch for them.

I also was charged $29.99 by WMV*match.com on 12/29/2011 and it was reversed on 12/30/2011. Apparently, this has been going on for three or more years. All of us card users suffer the effort of card cancellation and the chase bounced legitimate charges from valid vendors. Do the authorities do nothing? Banks, Card companies and police officials just take the reports and file them. Nothing gets fixed. Almost makes me want to get into a similar scam.

I found a fraudulent charge placed on my debit card in the amount of 35.99 from WMV*MATCH.COM [protected]. Immediately called my bank and canceled my card to prevent further fraud charges against my account. I called the company and the lady wanted me to give her my credit card number so she could look up the account, but I told her i would not do that. I don't know if this is really match.com, but whoever it is needs to be stopped

Just found minimum of four charges starting last year. They spread it out so you don't notice. Unfortunately I put myself on auto pay and only just caught it. My charge is $59.97. Card security says its an escort service. I think they make themselves look like Match.com. Who knows. Credit card canceled my card immediately.

It seems the U.S. Gov't fosters these types of scammers by diligently protecting their information from the American public while allowing them to access ours. This has been going on for at least the last two years. it seems that there is no info on who owns the phone number and good luck trying to find out who collects the money thin info is also protected. The banks are just as bad as they write it off as being too expensive or bothersome to track and just reverse the charges when caught. What about the people who don't detect the fraudulent charges?
I was lucky my bank is obviously aware of this problem and with a couple of calls reversed the two charges for $67 each for match.com and stopped 6-8 more including one to an Apple store. Had they not caught these in time my account would probably be well into the negative numbers by now. Thank you B of A for watching out for me but boo for not doing enough to put these people out of business. You must know where the money is being sent. Instead of ultimately passing the cost of fraud along to your customers, please try to stop these fraudulent charges

Just saw the charge ($35.99) on our account. However the next day it was refunded. I disputed the charge to inform my bank that's it fraudulent and should look into the so called match.com. I viewed our statements from months ago as well and nothing else, but this is absolutely ridiculous if you ask me.

WMV Match.com one of the biggest fraudulent companies ever. The low ### sucking thieves stole $29.99 twice from me. I had to cancel my card to avoid additional fraudulent charges. When is the attorney generals office going to look into these criminals? MATCH, you are the lowest form of humanity!

My account was charged today by wmv/www.match.com. I have never heard this website until this charge came out! Luckily it's just 1$. but I felt weird about this so I went to a bank near campus, they cancel my car and issued me a new one immediately. They also tell me that I can claim my money back when the transaction "on processing" is done.
Just to let you guys know that don't waste your time calling match.com. They are thieves and won't return your money! Just go directly to the bank, go through the process and then you can claim your money back!

ALL online dating sites are fraudulent. I have been on many myself, and while you may, once in a great while, meet someone, the majority of profiles are either posted by the site itself, or they are scammers who are fishing for your email address to spam you. None of them are worth any money

I too have been bilked out of $34.99 by WMV*Match.com. The debit appeared in my online statement, and I have no connection whatsoever with that website. If there are so many of these debits being reported, why aren't law enforcement authorities doing something about them? The people behind this fraud should be behind bars!

I found a charge from WMV.Match.Com on MT Chase account, contacted my bank to report the fraud .
I also called WMV.Match via the phone # on my accout posting and the only way they would initiate a
dispute was for me to give them my credit card number .
Who should we contact to burn these crooks once and for all ?

I too had an unauthorized charge to my account from WMV*Match.com [protected] TX for $34.98. When I called them they said that someone has my card # and is using it. I told them that it's them that has my card # and they are using it! :) He said that they put the money back into my account...We will see!

I received a charge and then credit from match.com. The phone number next to it is from TX, but the transaction was from Australia. I was also charged a foreign transaction fee. They actually credited my account before I received my statement. I will be watching in the future for any more transactions. From other places I have Googled, this is an ongoing problem. They will lay low for a couple of months and then start charges again. This makes me very angry !

I just noticed a "Point of sale" charge from "WMV*MATCH.COM [protected] TXUS" for $34.99 on 12/20/2010. I have sent a message to my bank and am awaiting the results. I am a police officer, so I'm going to do all I can to track down what/who and where the charge came from. I will repost when I get more information.

12/08/10 -- WMV*Match.com FRAUDULENT CHARGE

I just received a $29.99 charged to my bank statement and then reversed on the same day both the credit and debt on the same day. Wondering who made this charge and who WMV*Match.com was I called the phone number listed on the transction [protected] TX and spoke to Jimmy with the customer services office. I mentioned to him the charges that we did not authorize and would like be deleted / cancelled anything regarding us and our account. Hold on to your laugh here...he actually asks for my card number. When I mention that doesn't sound like a great idea that I will allow him to look up my "account" by my name he pauses for two seconds to imply that he is tying it in and then says I am not in the system. The only way to look up a possible account would be a card number.

Now I was born but not yesterday so my response was heated to say the least. After speaking with our banking institution the card has been cancelled and will be reissued but our checking account for my husbands debit card is frozen during Christmas time for 10 days until it arrives. These creeps have really caused so much frustration. How did they get our information, why did they charge and then refund the same day and why are they making charges with out account authorization? Spells fraud to us and they need to be stopped.

Makes me wonder how many charges happen and go unnoticed during this busy transaction time of year purchasing gifts for family and friends.

I just got $39.95 charged to my card and then reversed. I have a different take on this matter than everyone else. This exploit is well known and has been around a long time. These giant companies like Chase should do better to filter out what is real and what is not!

This charge should have never shown up on my card as far as I'm concerned. So you have to ask why? Well, I pay my card off every month, on time, every time! I also collect rewards on my card regularly. What this means, is Chase does not stand a chance of getting me into the DEFAULT column where they can make the big bucks they like to make from credit users.

I honestly believe that Chase allows these "exploit charges" to slip through on purpose from time to time so you close the account. So what, right? WRONG! Every time the card gets reissued, your credit score goes down. Eventually, your credit score gets so low that you only qualify for the cards with crappy T&C. Sounding familiar?

By creating this kind of turmoil, they ultimately have a greater chance of getting you into the DEFAULT column of your T&C. REMEMBER, as sinister as you might think my thinking is, Chase deals with MILLIONS of credit accounts. It all ads up, even the two cents more they might get from me by letting this exploit slip onto my bill.

I think it's ridiculous that this business has been doing this for over 2 years and is still doing it. I just got hit with the $35 charge-and-refund nonsense. I've never been on Match.com or had any sort of dating site membership. I did notice they're affiliated with Expedia, which I have used before. Hmmmmmm. Funnily enough, Match.com's refund posted before their charge did, which only looks even dodgier.

Match.com is headquartered in Dallas, TX. I went to the Dallas BBB website to file a complaint. After I finished I checked out their profile. In the last 36 months they've been hit with over 400 complaints just for their billing practices, over 200 of which were filed due to unauthorized charges. They've been left with over 1000 (!) complaints in the past 3 years against various aspects of their business. This company needs to be investigated. Just wish I knew who to call to get it done.

I think it's ridiculous that this company has been pulling this scam for over 2 YEARS. I just got hit with the $35 charge-and-refund scam they're running. What's funny: The refund went through before the bogus charge posted. Too bad I didn't block the account before they could withdraw the overage.

Match.com is headquartered in Dallas, TX. In the last 36 months they've been reported nearly 400 times for billing issues, over 200 of those being unauthorized charges to people's accounts. All told, they've gained over 1000(!) complaints against their company in the past 3 years. And that's just with the Dallas-based BBB. These folks are running some kind of scam that should be shut down. I just wish I knew who to contact to get them put under the microscope so they'll be stopped.

I also was hit by the WMV*MATCH.COM $34.99 charge to my bank account today with the same telephone number as above. I have no idea how they got my information.

I have a credit card I use for almost all online purchases, it is a Discover card. The only time I ever use my Visa debt card is when discover is not accepted, and in the last 2 months that has only been twice-once on a site buying garden flags, and once at the LSU ticket site buying tickets to the spring game. It is very much a fraudulent charge; I have never even accessed that website nor any of their sister sites, but as it is for an online purchase, I have no idea how they got my number if it was not at one of those two mentioned sites. The charge was still pending, and match.com said they would refund it and it was 'already flagged' however, he couldn't search for the account with my first & last name, but after I gave him my card # he did tell me that the name was on it. I think it is a scam all the way. X-(

I canceled my card with the bank and will be disputing the charges and filing a complaint with the BBB.

Add me to the list! This organization charge me recurrently from 12/09 to the present for $34.99 each month. I never signed up for this service, nor would I, having been happily married for the past 30 years. When I called the match people initially, I was told there was nothing they could do on their end, and I should work it out with my credit card holder. After deleting the phony charges for 3 consecutive months, this time my card holder decided to close out this account and issue me a new card with a new account number!
