Colonial Crossings of Williamsburg (VA) gave us a certificate as part of our purchase of a time share. We completed the certification in August 2008, for a flight from Dulles airport (DC) to Orange County airport(CA) in February 2009 and sent the required fee. Certs, in November 2008, sent us a request for additional monies due to a "history of cost of flights " between our requested destination and departure airports. I called because I felt this was totally bogus and was left on hold for 40 minutes with a woman coming on three times asking me to hold but never giving me adequate time to respond. Finally, after 35 minutes, she came on line, refused to give me her name and asked me what my call was in reference to. After another 5+minutes she connected me to "Priscilla" who gave me little information of use. We are cancelling our requests and want our money refunded but that will take more than four weeks.-----Rediculous

Another travel scam in Sarasota, FL.:
U.S.WINGS "two free air travel certif." After luring us to a hotel for a buying presentation, we paid $29.99 for a certificate which we sent with paperwork to THE RESERVATION CENTER, P.O. BOX 73585, Huston, TX 77273... They wrote back with more paperwork, asking for copies of our driver's licenses, and an additional $100 . There is no such place listed, and the email they listed to contact them ( does not exhist. Wondering what they are doing with all the diriver licenses?

I was also taken in by the above "scam" Fortunately I had second thoughts about paying for the membership in the travel and buying membership and canceled the charge on my credit card. The presentation was in Venice Florida at a hotel and the money sent (by money order) to THE RESERVATION center in Texas was $29.95 (as in the above complaint) for free airline tickets. When I got the voucher for the tickets they asked for more money etc. and had so many restrictions I wrote a letter for a refund under the agreement that this could be done. After I waited 5 weeks for my refund I called and was told the company was running behind and it could take 8 weeks. Melissa wouldn't give me the name of the company that was to send it (said she wasn't authorized to do so but finally told me their website was There is no such website-instead I got this one about it being a hoax. I plan to file complaints with the attorney generals office in Fl. and Texas so hopefully these scams can be stopped.

We too were taken in. We sent in the $29.00 US money order. Same thing, send in $100.00, drivers license, Melissa said they were returning our certified check because
it voided the "agreement" it had to be a U.S. Postal money order and we were no longer
eligible. I was so upset I didn't ask about the $29.00. I would like to have information
from others to join in any complaint to stop this scam.
