I have had the displeasure of dealing with this company for quite a while. I am in the process of trying to repair my credit and make good on my debts. To that effect, I'm consolidating my student loans. When I called Windham 'Professionals' to ask my balance and interest rate in order to consolidate, I got the runaround. The 'gentleman' named Brandon I spoke to was more interested in asking questions of me than answering mine. He repeatedly tried to talk me out of consolidating. When I told him I knew what I was doing, he hung up on me.

I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor. This person (who never gave his name) was able to tell me my balance and interest rate. He then asked if I was working. I said yes, not thinking anything of it. He then informed me that he was going to try and push a garnishment through to take 15% of my gross income. I asked why, since I was consolidating. He told me that it takes 60+ days for a consolidation to go through, and they (in his words) were going to 'squeeze as much money out of you as possible' before the consolidation check went through.

I asked what I could do to stop him from garnishing my wages, and he replied 'nothing'.

I'm just sickened by the attitude and behavior of this company and its representatives. They do NOT care at all about people, rather they see people as income. The fact that this man stated they were going to 'squeeze as much money' out of me as possible in the month or so before they got their payment from my consolidator illustrates just how PREDATORY this company is. I wish I knew who to complain to, or where I could sign up for a class-action suit. The worst part of it, aside from these people preying on others, is that I'm sure this is 'business as usual' for them.

debtors are all the same even your posts are laden with excuses and self admiited delinquency. one thing holds true... when you sign an agreement and are given credit ...pay back the debt according to the terms of the loan. the issue is not a lack of heart by the creditor yet a lack of intelligence on the part of the debtor. the notices come for months and after avoiding the issue and continuing to wallow in denial you seem so surprised when the collector calls. advice pay the bill on time or be prepared to get the calls, letters, summons, garnishments. PS a rehab is offered to a deliquent debtor to establish a new payment history...and is based on 9 consecutive payments not 8 and one sob story.

Predators, Just God D----ed Predators. No Remorse, No Empathy, They Pray To The Devil For You To Default So They Can Scr-w You Out Of More Of Your Money. These People Are Paid To Put You In Default So You Pay More And Someone Else Collects It For Them. A Very Neat "Little System" Thats Why The Take On The (Our) Government's Problems With Students Loan Repayment System. If You Look Real Close I Am Sure You Will See Where They Get A Very High Percentage Of What They Force You To Pay From The (Our) Government.

I had a similar problem. I am in the state of FL... Windham called me threatening to garnish wages on my student loan. I told them there was no need for that, I am willing and able to make payments... so they set me up on a rehab program where I had to make 9 consecutive payments in order to get my loan out of default, and then I can continue making payments on my own from there. Well I was on my 7th payment... on the 8th month, my youngest child had a back tooth collapse while eating something, and it required emergecy surgery to have it removed, which made me go out of pocket to the tune of $800 that month. I was totally unable to my Windhams payment that month. I called them to make some kind of attempt to work it out, but they said "No, we can't help you, you missed a month and now you're going into garnishment." They REFUSED to help, even though I was offering to continue paying! They flat told me, "We CAN'T help you, your file will be turned in for garnishment." WTF!? I'm a single mom w/ 3 minor children and was STILL responsible enough to ACTUALLY make payments! I don't feel I should be pushed into garnishment if I AM MORE THAN WILLING to make these payments. THEM MTHR'FKRS ARE HEARTLESS ROBOTS OF THE DEVIL! I'm afraid I may be pushed into homelessness soon... I don't know...

To inbound collector, please know that I will pray for you. I pray that there will never be a time when you are financially incapacitated. I hope that you never have bad luck, fall on bad times, have medical issues, get laid off from your precious company, etc. I hope this because, there is a definite law of karma. Please note that your snitty comments about 'imagine what it would be like with 15% off your wages' will come back to haunt you. Understandably, debitors should be held responsible for their debits. However there is a human trait called compassion that seems to be null and void in the 'collection industry.'

I will also pray that you find another job. That way you will have the opportunity to grow as a person and realize that things are not always black and white. There are some people out there that genuinely have good reason to be in the unfortunate position of dealing with Windham Professionals.

After dealing with a gentleman (term very loosely used here) named Seth, I have to agree that this collection company hires about the rudest people around. After the initial call from Seth, I let him know that we are disputing this collection attempt, as we do not owe the creditor any sum of money. I asked for the address so I could send a letter by certified mail requesting that the original creditor prove that we owe the debt. Seth was so rude that he accused us of stalling, and that we need to pay our bills, he constantly over talked me and even hung up on me. After I called back to complain to his superior about his lack of professionalism, the company re-connected me with Seth. His abusive comments and refusal to allow me to talk to his superior let me know what kind of company I am dealing with. From this point forward, everything from this company will be done by certified mail, I will no longer accept any verbal contact with this company. Good luck to anyone dealing with this company, and keep track of all your conversations. Do some internet research on credit repayment, and do not let anyone intimidate you

I happen to work with a company that uses Windham Professionals and guess what? Default fees can be up to 25% of your original loan balance and that will not show up on NSLDS. Because of people like you scamming the system and borrowing money that you will never pay back, this country's debt problem is worse and the economy gets worse, and because of your idiotic, stupid mistake the country is now in dire trouble.

They will garnish wages. If it is too hard to pay the bills now, imagine what it would be like with 15% off your wages.

Maybe you should get a refund on the money the original company loaned you because you are obviously TOO STUPID to have earned any sort of degree.

I just got off the phone with this company. They are the rudest people I have ever came across. I was talking to a guy and it seemed like he didnt know what to do or say, so he gave the phone to someone else and he was so rude and he hung up on me so I called back to speak to someone higher and he yelled at me and put the dumb ### on the phone I talked to before. They need to be trained or put out of business ASAP!

Everything in this post is true and these are normal practices for this group.
The Next twist of their knife is that no other lender will buy your loan and you will need to increase your payment. During all of the rehabilitation program and additional payments, only a Minimal about of funds goes towards paying off the loan.
Yes... Class Action Lawsuit is needed, however be advice... I was informed by an employee with (NSLP) National Student Loan Program. " You are lucky... because this is a nice group some of the others are much worst"

WARNING! This Group is well trained and use every method to gain information from you that they will then use against you. If the associate places you on hold chances are you are unknowingly placed you on MUTE. This allows them to monitor your conversation and gain additional information.
Try contacting the NSLP and delay setting up payments as long as you can. It is possible that you can get a lowered payment amount. Do not give financials out. If you are forced to Give very LOW amounts!
They also play Good Cop Bad Cop. Always remain on Guard!
Good Luck!
