Wilshire Consumer Credit Unprofessional behavior of customer service

I won't answer the phone calls from Wilshire anymore. They are very unprofessional and unkind. I have also talked with 3 people from Wilshire 2 of which I wrote their name down which was Oscar and Omar. The third one was a female but I couldn't get her name. All 3 of them told me that they felt bad and would defer my payment to the end of my loan due to I had an emergency situation that was beyond my control. Then to find out they never even put down I called. I have not ever been late since I have had this loan which has been for over 2 years ago until the emergency situation in August 2023. When I took this loan out 2 yrs ago it was through loanmart. Only to find out that Wilshire has it now. I never got a letter or warning. Only a phone call from Wilshire.

Desired outcome: Please defer my past due to the end of my loan so I can start off with a clean slate and move forward

No customer service at all. They lied to me again and again. I do not trust them period. It's been over a month now.

Erika in the Title Department sent me an email on FedEx tracking number [protected] and still not left from California.

Desired outcome: My Original title back from them, no liens in writing and an apology. Take my hard inquiry Experian /Clarity off.

Wilshire Consumer Credit Title Loan

I had a title loan on my Mercedes-Benz. I wanted to rebuild my credit a bit so I took a high interest loan with Wilshire of 107%. Since I was told I'd have NO early pay off penalties I paid my loan off after 1 year and 1/2 instead of the 48 months. That was on 3/1/23. My ending balance was $481.48 so I paid that over the phone along with a $5 fee for doing so. I was never late on a payment. 2 days later, (3/3/23), my account was hit for another $36.95 in interest fees, of which $0.22 was interest on the interest.

Desired outcome: I want a refund of $41.95 back from Wilshire Consumer Credit and an apology, for overcharging me the $36.95 in interest and the $5 I paid for paying my account off.

Wilshire Consumer Credit Auto loan not deducting payments from balance correctly

Took out an auto loan and after making $1,000 in payments - barely any money went towards the loan. My loan amount was $8,038 and after 3 payments (on time) at $326.00 a payment my payoff is $8,028.96? I know the rate is high and i only needed the loan for a few months, but barely any money went towards the loan. My balance only shows $7,767.23 but customer service quoted my payoff as $8028.96 and blamed the daily interest rate.

There is no way I would have ever been able to pay off this truck if I continued to make monthly payments.

Interest at 37% on a 325.00 payment is $120.25

Desired outcome: I want a refund of the amount over the account balance that showed online $8028.96-$7767.23 = $251.77 and a breakdown of where my money was going each month.

Wilshire Consumer Credit Title loan

I took out a $2000 loan for my vehicle. So I owed about $4000 left on my car. In Feb of 2020 I paid them $3400 which should have left my balance around $3400. Now instead of applying this money to the whole bill they applied it as monthly payments and still charged me interest every month. So now my bill is still at $6000 that I owe. No one told me or it don’t even says in my contract that this is how they apply payments. After talking to them on the phone asking for statements and break downs of my payments no one has called me back about it yet. They call from all different numbers and no one’s ever knows what I’m talking about and I have to repeat my story over and over. Now my bill is $521 this month (December 2020) and I need to know why. That’s almost my rent. Not for nothing but the staff is rude and hangs up on you a lot. Especially if you are right about something or asking them a legitimate question about your account. I don’t want to lose my car because I have three kids under 5 years old and need my car. Please someone help me I feel as though I’ve overpaid on this loan.

Desired outcome: I would like them to take the Lien off of my car and let me have my title back. I feel as though I have over paid on this loan.

Wilshire Consumer Credit Title loan scam.

After paying 48 months of $531.53 for a loan of $8015, my total payment is $25933.85. After I made my last payment they told me I need to pay another $8000 to get my title back., which means I need to pay another $483 monthly for 2 more years. Those are interest from my late payment dues which is never disclosed to me in the monthly statement. All they said is to make 48 monthly payments. This is a scam.

I also found a video on youtube that they return the truck to a lender. Here is the link. https://youtu.be/FerqY9hZvOg

I am exactly in the same situation., and I dont get the same treatment. This is unfair business practice. I have the right to get the same treatment.

Desired outcome: Return my title and get the same treatment.

Wilshire Consumer Credit Dirty money title loan

Got a title loan worst mistake ever. Here I am stressing Xmas is coming,so I did a huge no no. Got a title loan from the worst company ran by the devil himself. I paid it off 2 weeks later repossessed. Not only did they illegally take it,they destroyed my drivetrain. 1 year after my wife bought here vehicle in cash at carmax. I converted it to AWD. Dan hanky got some shady repo company called Sterling asset recovery here in my city. Idiots. So I found the vehicle low and behold 1 employee knew me said what are you doing here bro. I said that black vehicle it's mine. He said o f#$k. They stuck some GPS tracker on it without my permission. I took my vehicle and disassembled it. Completely took it apart. To the last bolt. Since I am a master tech it's simple to put it together. So fast forward. Wilshire hired some low budget was people to follow me and drive by my house. So I served Wilshire a Lien of my own and now I am turning in my certificate of repossession to DMV for non payment for damages. So how did I do this. I am a legal business and did the work myself replaced the 2 differential transfer case and trans. Then i turned around and completely took it apart. Minus glass. So I got the gps hanging from the ceiling in my garage. I love watching these idiots drive around looking for a invisible car. Lol. Advice when you tail someone don't make it obvious. Just because Dan hand job I mean hanky got deep pockets. Doesn't mean you can't beat this low life. I know I'm being watched. Waste of money to pay because YOU WILL NEVER GET MY RIDE. ...EVER... Maybe I will send you a autographed part from it.

Desired outcome: Still pending until DMV sends my pink without Wilshire a name on it

Wilshire Consumer Credit Title loan / breaking and entering, assault and never received 1 letter!

I got a loan with wilshire, and could not even drive my car, for over a year because they would not send me my registration, called their office over 20x and finally 1 person said oh ya I see what happened, and he said I would get my registration in the mail because I paid for it and they sent it to wilshire, well after a few months of the run around, I called them back and said I would not send another payment until I got the registration, and was taking them to court for breach of contract, I locked my car behind my tall fence, and for over 11 months tow trucks would come down the block, I had my car locked up but the other cars in my drive way had flat tires done to them etc etc, apparently the tow truck drivers do this for a trick, to get you to move the other car, which I never did, because of no registration, I had no clue they were that dirty, until recently, they put flats in the cars several times, I thought it was someone upset with someone in my family, wow stupid me again, well had my attorney ready to take them to court and the court house closed down, so had to wait, next thing I here all kinds of noise on side of my house, thought it was my neighbor, my dogs were going crazy, so I get up to check, and right when I get to back door, the door bell rings, I go look out the peep hole and their is a big guy standing their so I open the door and he mutters something, I said excuse me he laughs in my face and walks off, I follow him and say excuse me? I get to the end of my walk way and see my dogs all running down the street my blind dog is in the middle of the street, my french bull dog is running the opposite direction, and my whole gate is wide open, which is never open and was locked, so they broke in my gate, let my dogs loose, and my other dog was under the tow truck, and my daughters car was also moved from the front of the gate, me and her just got home maybe 30 min before this, I go over to the tow truck driver and say get the hell off my property, and you cannot just break into someone's property, and let their dogs out, I was trying to get my one dog under the truck and I yelled for my daughter to come and she came out the back door I told her to call the police, but her phone was broken, and to help me catch the dogs, the 2 tow guys were trying to get the car hooked up, and I told them to get their truck off my property and they were not taking my car any where unless they had a court order, which they did not have, and I tried to shut half my gate so I could get my one dog in, and that's when the 300 pd tow driver just slammed me into the side of my house into the brick wall really really hard, I could not even breath, I was in shock! I never put my hands on either one of them, did not yell at them, they kept pushing their cell phone right in my face, like an inch away from my nose, I said over and over you are not taking my car and get off my property, but after he pushed me my daughter started crying and yelling at him to stop hurting my mom, he pushed me every time I took a step, I did not even realize it because I was in shock, I told my daughter not to come over their, I did not want her hurt, so she stood about 15 feet from me, by this time all my neighbors were coming out, because of all the yelling, I tried several times to shut half the gate, and then he was trying to hook the back of the car with the chain, and I took the chain or tried to take the chain, and put it on the outside of the fence and he grabbed my wrist and twisted my hand really bad felt like he broke my fingers, I am 115 pds, if lucky, and 61 years old, I kept telling them to get off my property, and that they were not taking my car, I kept waiting for the police, finally they show up, and I told them I wanted to press charges for assault, and breaking and entering, they separated us and got every ones statement, and I told them to get them off my property, and they were not taking my car. The police guy must of been buddies with the tow guy, because he did not even want to do a report, I said are you going to let them take my car, the police said nothing, I said if you do not want to fill out the police report for me, I will go to police station my self, the cop said wheres your blood? I said what? I said so you are telling me I cannot have a report done unless I have blood? finally he says ok, and ask for my id, I said it is in the house, so he tells me to go get it, in the mean time my car is still behind my fence, and while I go into the house to get my id, he tells the tow guy to take my car and go. Are you serious? that is against the law. I came out and was where the hell is my car, he said nothing, I said wow, I told him give me my police report number, and said nothing else and went into my house, 30 min later I still here them outside laughing, I cannot even tell you how much damage they have done to me and my daughter, she has ptsd, and I have crippling ptsd. I asked the police for the tow truck drivers name, address, company name any thing they would not give me any info at all, they said I would get a letter in the mail telling me where to pick up my stuff from car, and how to get my car back, well I never got a damn letter, I called and called and finally they gave me a phone number which no one ever answered, never got a letter, nothing, I called over and over they told me over the phone if I paid 5500 I could get my car back, and they would give me my title back, I called my attorney he said if that's what I wanted to do, make sure I got it in writing, well never got that, in witting because the supervisor that promised me that lied because it never got approved for that, per another emp., and every time I called I got the run around, over and over, I went to the place to get my stuff out of car, and they said I could not do any thing because my car had a freeze on it, due to the violence, wow, then I get another offer from them for 7500, no letter still, nothing, now this is going on a damn month, I said fine send me a letter, and I also said I want a 10 day extension from the time I get my letter, well no letter came, and don't say I moved because been at same address for over 20 years, I asked for them to send copies to my email, they said they could not, but they did email me a letter saying I could pay 7500, which expired that night so that would not even give me enough time to send the money, so to this date I got nothing in the mail, and the last time I called they wanted the money, but could not give me a letter that was not expired, and after reading all the bad post, it says they do that to every one, so you pay and still don't get your car back, to this date, they have done nothing but lied. I do not know what you think you can do for me, because the only thing I will except is my vehicle back, and my title. I am a military spouse, and this is going to court. Melinda Dombkowski

Desired outcome: My car back and my title.

Wilshire Consumer Credit Unwilling to help customer

04/03/2020

I called Wilshire Consumer Credit today since I have an active account with them. I talked with one of the unwilling to help customer representative.

I asked her to help me due to COVID-19. I have minimal working hours since the beginning of March. They allow me to postpone payment in March. They told me the extension would be determined based upon the pandemic situation.

The situation is getting worse and worse days, but the company does not want to help the customer. The customer representative told me that I have to find a way to pay this April, or they will take my car away. Now I am facing with no money for my daily needs since I have to find $700 to pay them. These people have no sense of helping the customer. They only care about money and money and money.

Wilshire Consumer Credit loan terms, illegal repo

This is the worst company to ever do business with! I took out a loan on my vehicle for $1500 at 24% apr for 24 months in may 2013. By aug of 2014 I had noticed that my payments weren't being applied correctly to my loan and I called several times to question them. They kept referring to late fees, daily accumulations, etc... It made absolutely no sense. I asked why they reported incorrect info on my credit record (Repo that I had paid to get out close to $1000, but yet on record as repo I let go). They kept promising to get records fixed and send me an itemized statement and printout of account. I had all records and receipts of payments but they hadn't posted my june 2014 payment and I had record that it was taken out of my bank account. Aug 2015 I missed payment (Got laid off) but was in contact. Still going through hell to get that june payment to show. I had sent them all bank info and transaction info, but they kept stating it was in review! I made arrangement for 2 payment to be made 9/9/2015 to be drawn from my bank account. I did this 9/4/2014 right before labor day weekend. I was given transaction # and assured account would be up to date. On sat morning 9/5/2014, I heard loud truck and ran outside. Tow truck driver was getting ready to take car! I tried to talk to him, but he gave me middle finger, laughed and took off. Heartbroken and pissed I called local police. They gave me info on car repo. I called and was told to call back next tues as they were closed! I never got paperwork from the company for my vehicle, they wouldn't let me have my brand new car seat that was my grandson's or my medications without paying a fee of over $530.00 for storage, and it took me until 10/20/2014 to even get to talk to tow yard. For 6 weeks tow company and wilshire consumer played games and wouldn't tell me how or where my car was. By the time I got a hold of executive from wilshire on 10/28/2014 I was told they sold my car a week before, I should have got paperwork... Too bad I didn't... They ripped me off in applying payments, lied about arraignment, and then took my car and wouldn't let me have access to it... Disgusting how these people can do business in calif or any other state and get away with it... Crooks

Hey I'm with you on that though I never made a payment because I was struggling.. they repoed my truck I called them up a few times never was able to speak to someone after I lost my home and ended up in a hotel like 4 weeks later I called and found out my truck was sold... They claim the sent me mail but I never received any mail... I asked why didn't they call me or send me an email regarding my truck being sold they got nasty with me and said they told me through mail and just had an attitude because I requested information sent to my email and also information on their policy after a vehicle has been repossessed... They also told me that my $15,000 truck sold for less than $6000 the money I borrowed on a title loan from them ... And they wouldn't give me anymore information on it... Here is my email j_note07@yahoo.com for anyone willing to come forward and get together on a class action lawsuit against them

Wilshire Consumer Credit incompetence, harassment

I received the usual statement from WCC last week. There was a late fee attached that was not valid. I spoke to a rep. about this when I called to make the payment. We determined that the rep. who took the payment on the previous month 'keyed it in wrong'. The rep said she would turn this issue over to the 'accounting dept.'. I hoped the issue was straightened out but I began receiving calls 2 days ago about my account. Today I received and answered a call from one of their 'reps'. The 'rep' said I was behind on the payment of my late fee (the one that was invalid) and that I would incur a late fee on the first late fee. I explained the situation to him and he couldn't grasp the situation. I asked to speak to his supervisor. He said his supervisor would just tell me the same thing and of course the supervisor said the same thing. I lost my temper and hung up. Every transaction I have had with them has been a problem. I was late once and they threatened to tow my car. They harass me endlessly over the phone when they think something is wrong on my end but absolutely refuse to be cooperative in giving explanations of the problems. HOW IN THE WORLD DOES ONE DEAL WITH ### LIKE THIS?

I am about to hide my car and never look back from this. I have call protection (thanks att) and won't let myself be harassed. This is making sort of but basically no sense to me. They told me my rate and as someone else had mentioned I was desperate too and I ignored it. However that doesn't mean that I should not be able to pay down my principal? I took 6000 and I have to pay over 14000 back. Are you saying if I pay my bill early it makes no difference on my principal? Isn't paying down the principal helping you? I'm calling them tomorrow. This whole forum got my freaked out. I knew it was a horrible choice especially because I paid my car off EARLY and with their sister company! They still gave me a 63 percent interest rate. I couldn't believe less than a year after getting my Avalon I was signing over the title. But for some people, its be homeless or do this so you can continue working and continue on. Best of luck. Please help!

I took out a pink slip $1700 loan back in 2009 to pay off a medical bill. Two days after I got my loan, I lost my job. My intent was to pay off this loan quickly, but afte the loss of my job that became impossible. I made payments now for 2 years, and have not touched the principal! The interest rate is so high, I may never pay off his loan. Last month, I was late on a payment, and they called and said I had to surrender my car that day, or come up with a payment by the end of the day. I hate this sick loan. If all possible NEVER do this to pay bills or borrow money. You will regret it for all your days and probably loose your car in the end. Good luck to all the rest of us struggling to pay off these sick loans.

This is not your ordinary loan. The interest on this loan is PRT. Principal Rate Time, in other words the your percentage is based on the rate and time it is an algebra formula. The longer you have the loan the more you pay because the loan is based on time. Let's do the math: 2510.00 x .07 = $175. (& some change) take that and you divide the 175.00 by 30 days and you get $6.00 a day. So you are charged $6.00 a day for each day the loan is held. Your payment will be let's say $229.00 per month, only $48.00 goes to the principal the rest is interest. Now let's say you pay off $1700.00 in two days then you owe $810.00 plus $12.00 because you are being charged $6.00 a day on $2510.00. Now you owe $810.00 x .07 = $56.70. Take $56.00 and divide it by 30 (days) and you get almost $2.00 a day. Now you make another payment in the amount of $400.00. Now you owe $410.00 x .07 = $ 28.00 take $28.00 divide by 30 (days) and you get almost a $1.00 a day to have loan. Once you pay the $410.00 then you owe an additional amount of $410.00 plus how many days you had that amount owed. So if it takes you 10 days to pay the $410.00 then you owe $420.00. That is why your loan never gets paid off because your loan is based on percentage/principal and time and rate. This is not your adverage bank loan that deals with APR. On a $2500.00 loan you actually will pay over $5, 000.00 which is more than the loan itself. It sounds like a rip off and it is but it is legal here in California. The object is that you never pay off your loan, they are in the business of money not helping. They know that if you had good credit you will be at the bank, so they take advantage of those without good credit. Make sure when you are taking out a loan that you are able to ask the appropriate questions and if they wish not to answer those questions do not deal with them. I hope this was helpful and by the way this is the same as a payday loan. You borrow $255.00 and you owe $300.00. You are charged $3.00 a day to hold a $255.00 loan out for 14 days. This is one reason why Math is important in school and we know California is failing us in education and this is the reason so that Americans get themselves in financial hardships, just another form of genocide.

I have the same exact experience ... I have paid back the 4200 loan amount and still owe 4000. This is the worse nightmare of my life. It was an evil intent dead beat client that created my needing the loan in the first place and these people are just an addition to the consumate evil that is permitted to create need and exploit it until there is just nothing left!

The same thing has happened to me with WILSHIRE CONSUMER CREDIT. I took out a loan for $1500.00. I have been paying on it for a year totalling over $1530.00. I knew the interest was high but figured that the loan had to be at least half way paid. My thought was it should be down to $700 or $800. I called to get the pay off and was told my pay off was over $1300.00. How could it be that I didn't even pay a total of $200.00 toward the principal. I was shocked. I called and talked to them and they said I got a loan at 69% interest. OMG! They are deceiving and do not offer this information up front when you are approved. I am going to pay the payoff amount so that I can get it cleared up. If I don't I will be paying this loan for years! They told me at the beginning there wasn't any pay off penalty. Seems to me like I am being penalized!
I am feeling very taken advantage off. These companies need to be regulated. They take your title and your money. This company takes advantage of people that are in need and that is wrong!

Wilshire Consumer Credit auto loan

This company calls me everyday because I was late on one payment back in May of 2008 and yells at everyone in my family and my friends and they yang up on them. I would never use this company again or tell anyone I know to ever use this company. This year has been a very bad year for me, I have lost my home that I had for 10 years because my morgage went up so much I couldn't make the payment, I got laid off from my job but every month I do my best to make this payment it might be late but I make it. I DON'T believe I should be treated the way this company treats me, At least I make the payment. I never thought when I got the loan that all this would happen but it did and Im doing my best. Please treat me with a little respect.

Their website login is badly designed. Like most people, I forgot my password to the account (which is already set up and their system properly recognizes it). One of my skills in my career is that I test software applications, including web-based applications, and this site would fail miserably.

So I go through the process on their site to reset my password, which I do successfully, and it acknowledges such, yet when I click the link to go back to log in, the system does not recognize my new password. They use two entry edit boxes to insure you correctly enter your new password. However, even after exiting the application, clearing browser cache and cookies and such, and then going back in, their system will not recognize the new password.

This is a very bad design, as one would think that they want their account holders to be able to login to make payments and/or get new loans and do business. There are far too many monkeys out there writing software and developing applications. This is the most basic process of any web-based application - the login process, and they cannot even get it right.

So if you cannot log in to pay your monthly bill, should you be at fault and thus hit with a late fee? You cannot call them and get through either. I did and got 25+ minutes of a looping message that would say how important my call is and that it may be recorded for quality and training purposes, over and over again! So where's the quality here in the service? Again, a miserable setup.

I called this company to to find out why each month the payoff balance is getting higher. I was told that there is a daily interest rate. I explain to the rep that there no daily interest rate on my contract. I asked what is the daily interest rate, but was told they can not provide me with this information. I told them that I need to pay off the loan. I was told that the loan is about 500 more then what I received and it has only been 2 months. I asked if they were still charging interest, they indicated not. I decided the best solution in this matter is to take my concern before a judge.

Called this company to make a payment. A drunk guy answers the phone with a loud Mexican music in the background. First thing he said is whats your account number. No greeting, no hello, no introduction, all he said with a drunk slur "whats your account number". This is the most unprofessional company I've dealt with. It seems they just went to the street and picked up some homeless, rude drunks to answer their phones. But what would you expect from a loan shark. Thanks Express Cash Network for destroying peoples life when they are at the lowest point of their lives. Stay a way from this company.
