Real Estate auctions that aren't really auctions. No reserve price is specified, you win the bidding but the seller isn't selling (the government actually) at that price. Then Williams & Williams doesn't return calls or answer emails, they just drop you and send back your check weeks later. This website also *** if you have to write 100 words. What is the matter with the plain truth, no BS? Does everything on the internet have to be a rip off even the pissed off sites? Well how's the weather are we at 110 words yet? Yet, yet, yet, yet, yet, yet!

They were VERY slow to respond to me, and, always a different person, then that person would be out of the office, so, would leave a message...I had a LONG, LONG ordeal...home in Gatlinburg, TN...they tried to get me to pay more (actually asked for more)...I said, "NO"...it dragged on and on...one closing date came and went...another set...I had two trucks loaded and ready for the move...didn't hear back...finally the closing date came and nothing. Long story short I had to store my goods and finally got an answer that the bank could not get a clear title on the property...so, deal was off...took about another month and lots of calls to get my money refunded. Then found the complaints against them and found this to be a regular pattern with them. Glad I didn't get the house though...someone else paid about $10K more for it about a month after my deal was kaput...and turned right around and was trying to sell it for about $10K less than what they paid for it...structural damage big time! I do not recommend Williams & Williams...and, YES I too believe they had FAKE bids that bumped the price up. Can't prove it, but, certainly feel that to be the case. OH! I had to threaten to get an attorney before I got my money back. Good luck.

I was wondering if anyone else had a problem like mine. I went to the auction, got the high bid but I have a feeling the guy had me bidding against myself. I was at 140k, he kept asking for 145k, finally the other guy on the phone with online whatever goes, huh oh ya, YUUUPP.. I looked at my husband to see if he caught it as well and he did, but just my looking up apparently moved my bid 146k.. I wanted the house so I guess I just had to deal with that. So we went inside, I gave them $8625.00..no receipt given.. no numbers written on the contract as far what I paid or owed, was told they would contact me within a few days to go over everything. Being my first time at auction I just thought this must be how it goes. Now it is a week later.. haven't heard from anyone, tried to log into the website and my account is suspended, called customer service Friday, was told they don't know why and I would need to speak to this other guy, who was at lunch of course, , left him a message, , no return call. I'm starting to be concerned on rather or not I should be contacting my attorney in this matter. Does this make sense to anyone else?

I am currently having a heck of an ordeal with Williams and Williams. I was the winning bidder of 879 Chalet Village Blvd, Gatlinburg, TN in Nov 2011...Supposedly Bank Of America was the seller...yet never closed on the deal and I can't get my $2625 back from Williams and Williams Auction...dozens of emails saying "The check is in the mail" but, no check to date and no reason why...OH, they did an electronic transfer of funds from my bank for the $2625 but say they are not able to transfer the funds back into my account electronically...two full months of calls and emails and I am still out the house and the money! I say, DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM! Never a straight answer...just pass you on to another Customer Service Rep and you start over again...you call and call and never an answer...but, then they call and leave a message for you to call or send you an email to call and no answer...I am preparing to bring suit for theft of funds at this time.

Soundsd like a guy that just like to complain... The company is obviosuly selling properties or they wouldn't still be in business. Too bad the Seller didn't accept your offer, but why trash the auction company? They are also at the whim of the Seller.
