This software is touted as award winning grammar checking that exceeds MS word. It says that it can be run as background software, it cannot. It is an unstable and error prone web application. The app fails to connect to servers if there is a large document introduced. Over two pages of text it becomes unstable and difficult to scroll through. Customer service said that by hitting F2 the app would check any document I was working on, but this is not the case. The text must be copied and pasted from the word processing program, all formatting is lost, and it is so poor it cannot tell comma's from periods. I am asking for my money back. The BBB gives this company a D rating. I hope this company goes away.
Contact the BBB, Whitesmoke gave me my money back. Just go to the BBB website and type in Whitesmoke. WS is not a BBB accredited business but they will handle your complaint.
If WS put as much money into developing their product as they do the questionable advertising they might have a product worth buying. Don't feel bad I thought I did due diligence too. Their advertising is just that good.
Thanks for that information; it was very helpful. White smoke defrauded me of £553.30 (US $776). I only ordered a $7 a month subscription. I have had nothing, and they don't reply to emails or calls. Fraudsters!

I bought a permanent license of WhiteSmoke that they called it "lifetime plan" in 2015. But, now, my software does not work and says "your license is expired". I emailed them several times but no one responded.
I paid for an unlimited license in 2011. yesterday
I went to use the program and an automated prompt said my key had expired and
I should buy white smoke again. All attempts to reach white smoke was unsuccessful.
I used this program infrequently and considered it sub par then as I now do. Wish I could get my money back.

Whitesmoke is a fraud! I accidentally paid for the grammar check once and thought it was a one off payment, however, I have been continuing charged for the program for two months! I cancelled the subscription last year, however, I was charged again 35 times in March this year. It is so scary because you can't unsubscribe through your own account, and you don't know how long they are going to charge you. White smoke has set traps for their customers.
Whitesmoke installed itself on my computer even though I clicked "Do Not Install", took over most file associations so I could run nothing else, and made itself my homepage and default search engine. Took me days to get rid of it and repair the damage. Whatever it may once have been, it appears to be pure malware today.
I filed complain with BBB at the same time -- hopefully I get my money back ...

This company is Making Allegedly False and Misleading claims about the product and services and needs to be prohibited from practicing . I asked to get my money back as they stating, “within 30 days money back guarantee” and all I get is a computer generated emails. Please help!
