White Plains Honda Deceptive Financing Practices

Their financial manager, Hamid Anwar, attempted to deceive me by implying an extended warranty allows for a lower financing rate. Then he becomes belligerent when I expose his lie by contacting Honda Financial services. Then to add insult to injury, they still tried to sell me the car after their financial manager spoke to me disrespectfully after getting caught in his lie. Nothing short of seeing the financial manager fired, and the dealership receiving a hefty fine for deceptive sales tactics would make me feel vindicated for the waste of time and money wasted at this dealership!

To purchase a vehicle from this dealership is to condone their deceptive sales practices. When I caught their financial manager in a lie about the financing rate being effected by the extended warranty I knew I was in the wrong place. They're nice when they think they got you, but once I let on I knew the facts the financial manager couldn't be any ruder. They work together to screw the customer. Now it's my turn. I hope they enjoy dealing with NY's Attorney General's Office, and the Department of Consumer Affairs.

I recently shopped for a car at White Plains Honda and receive the exact same treatment. After negotiating a price with the saleman, we were sent to the finance manager and given the exact same treatment. He not only stated that the extended warranty was included in the financing, he never mentioned the additional cost of $2500. When I examine the contract, I say the additional charge and questioned it. He then stated that the extended warranty was required in order to obtain financing then later changed his scam to stating that it's required in order to get the lower interest rate. White Plains Honda is full of thieving scam artists. Don't sign any contract without examining and questioning every charge.

White Plains Honda Bad sales practice

I just went in last night to sign some paperwork for a new CR-V and left empty-handed and extremely annoyed.

When my husband and I first went over the weekend, we were told we could purchase a 2010 Honda CR-V, EXL edition from them for $26, 500. They tried to get us to close the deal that day but we weren't prepared to walk away with a new car at that time. We also wanted them to work on the price of the trade-in vehicle. We spoke with the salesman Monday night and he said he could work on the trade in-value and we agreed to come in last night (to close the deal). When we went last night he advised us that the car that was available at that price on Saturday was sold earlier that day and they could offer us the same car for $28k or $29k. We were completely dumbfounded as to how the price for the same vehicle could be jacked up a few grand over a few days. He asked us what he could do to get us in that vehicle and we told him that he knew what would have to happen. He went over to "talk to his manager" and came back and said he could offer us a civic for that price. We laughed and left.
I intend to write a letter to the President to try to complete a purchase based on the price that was offered on Saturday and if my request is denied I intend to file a formal complaint with the BBB.

White Plains Honda Dishonest sales process-bait & switch

The dealership advertised a leasing special for a Honda Pilot EX-L. I called the dealership and spoke to a sales person who I asked to break out the cost exactly and to the penny for the downpayment and monthly payment, including all taxes and fees. He did so and the terms were consistent with the dealer's ad. I called back shortly just to confirm before going to the dealership to lease the car. When I got there, I was handed to another sales person, who graciously spent time with my wife and daughter for a test drive. However, when it was time to sign the paperwork, the new sales person told me the other had made a $1000 mistake. I asked to see the sales manager, who then tried to convince me to go with another deal. We left immediately as it was apparent the sales manager could not be trusted. I am determined never to do business with White Plains Honda as they are clearly an unscrupulous car dealer.

I am currently leasing a 2009 accord from WP Honda. My first complaint is the fact that the dealership never grounded my trade in car. I was previously leasing a 2006 accord. They got me out of that lease early and would pay the remaining payments, which is fine, until the end of the 06 lease! I started receiving letters from Honda financial looking for my 06 car! I was a bit surprised how can Honda not know that I turned my car in? I explained to Honda financial that I no longer have the 06 accord it was turned in at WP Honda over a year ago! They told me that I have to deal with the dealership regarding that matter! Needless to say month went by back n forth on the phone with the dealership and being harassed by Honda Financial who is now sending me DEFAULT notices an extra payment was generated because WP Honda made me wait over a month to write a simple letter stating that THEY have my 06 car!

My 2nd complaint is with my 09 lease, I was suckered into purchasing a Honda Care servuce package, extra $20 a month. It was explained to me that if I ever change my mind I can cancel this contract at any time.. Well I find out that's not true! You have to keep paying the extra $20.00 a month until the end of the lease and they take the amount of money you spend on this package and it goes to the value of the car at the end of the lease. Basically what that means is I'm out the $260 difference! The dealership tells me 2 stories! One guy tells me my payments get reduced if I cancel and another guy tells me I get a check at the end of the lease. Both which are not true! I have this dealership! I wouldn't advice anyone to go to white plains Honda!

White Plains Honda Bad Sales Practice and Lack of Customer Service

These people are awful. I was warned not to buy from them and yet I went foolishly because of my affinity for Honda and the fact that they were close to where I lived. I went there and the guy tried to sell me the car for $1, 500 more than what I saw on the internet. When I told him I saw it for that price he said "well that price does not come with Honda warranty." I went back and forth with him for couple hours until he finally acquiesce and offered me the warranty at the internet price. I thought this was all over but no. When I went into the office to set up financing along with a $12, 000 check I had, I knew the ball was in my court so I took it easy and allowed the guy to set up financing for the remainder. The total price would have been around $19, 000 (including LoJack - which they hiked up in order to get something back from me). Anyway when he finished and ask me to sign I saw over $24, 000 - they tried to sell me everything Honda has got. I told him no and he tried everything to deceive me but I was holding serve - because of the big check and the enthusiasm about leaving with the car. At the end he gave me a high interest rate and I thought I left with a good deal.
That is not the end. i got a ticket from the police saying that the car tint is too dark. When I contacted the manager he told me that they are not liable for that and the only thing he will do is remove it. He will not even provide me with a letter stating that is how I bought the car. We hang up and he has never returned my call. The sales guy I bought the car through did not even have authority to prepare me the letter as he has to get permission from this boss who did not care less. I went to their office one evening after they told me I could come in and everyone was gone except this one guy who was busy trying to "rip" off another customer and never came to my assistance.
Anyway I will never go to their office again and I encourage you to please be careful when you do.
They even gave me a wrong set of second key for the car and no attempt has been made to replace it. All they do is continue to send me emails to come n and buy another car.
Please be aware of practices like these. I will never shop there again.
