Whirlpool refusal to issue parts authorization reimbursement

My wife and I purchased a Whirlpool 36" Wide French Door Bottom Freezer Refrigerator with StoreRight (Model # WRF757SDEH; Serial # K55120418) on 1/1/2016 for $2339 from Lowes. An expensive purchase we hoped would perform without problems for many years. The ice maker suddenly stopped working and we scheduled a service call through Whirlpool's website as this was the most convenient way to schedule the repair. The Whirlpool contracted repair company (Advantage Appliance Repair - See attached invoices) came out on three separate occasions 3/14/18, 3/19/18, and 3/22/19 to review, diagnose and fix the presenting problem(s).

The initial problem was diagnosed as a bad thermistor which required the entire ice maker to be replaced ($139.94 parts and $169.99 in labor). Unfortunately, that did not resolve the problem. After a second call, it was suggested the Ice Box Fan was also bad and needed to be replaced
as well ($180.31). Mind you, this is an almost brand new Refrigerator.

At this point, I called Whirlpool Customer Care to notify them of both repairs and of my disappointment that an almost new refrigerator would need to these type of repairs. My family is a loyal Whirlpool customer and in addition to the Whirlpool refrigerator we also have a less than 2 year old Whirlpool dishwater in our kitchen as well. As such, I requested that Customer Care provide a Parts Authorization Reimbursement for both parts replaced (the ice maker and ice box fan). The initial customer care person said they could not assist and transferred me to the supervisor. I then spoke with the supervisor who said because we used the Whirlpool website to set up our repair and did not call Whirlpool directly via the customer care line and subsequently used and payed for the 3rd party repair company (the company that Whirlpool authorized and contract with via their website) that they could not reimburse what was already paid for. However, the supervisor did tell me that if we had called first to the Whirlpool customer care line they could have and likely would have authorized reimbursement for these parts. I explained it should not matter how this was brought to Customer Care's attention as we went through Whirlpool's website to address the issues we were having (i.e., broken ice maker). I asked that if Whirlpool were willing to reimburse for the repairs via a phone call then they should reimburse regardless of how the issue was presented to the Customer Care department. To my great dissatisfaction, the Customer Care Supervisor said this was policy and there was nothing she could do. I asked several more times if Whirlpool could assist and make this right and they refused. I really could not believe there was nothing the supervisor could do and told her I felt this way. I asked one last time if there was anything that Whirlpool could do to make me feel better about this as I was a very dissatisfied customer and this had turned from a bad customer experience into a consumer who likely would not choose Whirlpool for future purchases. This experience was and is extremely disappointing. Especially since Whirlpool would have helped provide reimbursement if I had called in on the Customer Care line.

I disagree with this outcome and believe reimbursement for both the ice maker and ice box fan is in order. I have no problem covering the cost of the labor paid to Advantage Appliance Repair. I hope this message creates an opportunity for improvement for how these type of complaints are addressed and that appropriate resolution is consistent whether the problem is presented via the customer care line or through the company's website.

Thank you. - Jeremy Spencer

Thank you for your response. I did, in fact, mean 2018 not 2019. To answer your question regarding an extended warranty, no we did not purchase one. Regardless, to have two repairs required totaling $500 on a refrigerator at such a young age seems unreasonable. We purchased a Whirlpool for the quality the brand has been known for. Unfortunately the experience we have just had (two different parts requiring replacement at the same time) makes me believe these parts were faulty to begin with and should not expect to replace at this age of such a high quality appliance. This is why I'm requesting the financial restitution for these replacement parts. Again, I'm happy to pay for the labor. Thanks for your sincere consideration.

My best,

Jeremy Spencer

Unfortunately, any and all brands have a certain level of failure. Ultimately that is why warranty coverage exists.

You're unlikely to find the parts or labor are covered, but if you'd like to contact Whirlpool directly, call [protected].

Best of luck.

Hi Jeremy.

Appreciated reading your concerns.

One of the dates you posted was for 2019; I'd assume you meant 2018 as the 2019 date would have not taken place yet.

Whirlpool is known to make one of the finest lines of appliances within the industry. One should understand though that all manufacturers create their products for a certain price. When costs are calculated, statistics are uses in knowing fairly accurately how much money will be used to service warrantied products; therefore it is truthful to state that the length of a product's warranty is directly reflected in the product's final price. In order to offer a product at a reasonable and more competitive price, most appliance manufacturers include a one year, limited warranty with their products. For customers that feel this length of warranty is not long enough, both the manufacturer and retailer generally offer extended warranty coverage to cover unexpected problems.

Ultimately then, it would be helpful to know if you purchased any additional warranty coverage through Lowes, Whirlpool or a different third party source.

Please note, if this issue has already been resolved to your satisfaction, there is no need to respond to this text.

Thank you.

Whirlpool double oven/ model# wod51ec0as

I had a house built in 2016 that came with all Whirlpool appliances. A couple months later in November, it required service on the double oven because it wasn't heating at the designated temperature. The tech explained that it could only be tweaked because a temperature range (not necessarily the entered temp) was acceptable. Ten months later, it started shutting off in the middle of cooking, giving a message: call service, F1E1 code. After multiple attempts to resolve, I again contacted Whirlpool in December 2017 because Christmas dinner was a disaster (undercooked turkey because the oven shut off). I was told to shut off the breaker to the oven and turn it back on after a minute. REALLY?! After dealing with this over the last few months and increasingly not be able to use, clean, turn on the light or turn off the code, I again called but could not get through during regular business hours. So, I had to go through the weekend unable to use the oven. I called again this past Monday (03/19/2018) and Whirlpool had a tech come out this morning. I had to pay nearly $400 to repair a fairly new oven that should not be broken less than two years from purchase. I'm not sure if this is an isolated incident or a defective oven but regardless, this is unacceptable and does not speak well of Whirlpool's products. I would think that they would create better products with some longevity and stand behind their products.

Whirlpool maytag 62 mvwb955fw

I purchase this washer on Feb 5 30 days later on March 5 the top glass lip broke all by itself. I out a complaint in that day and was put in touch with the local repair company Advanced out of Springfield. I was told my part was coming on the march 7 and no phone call so I call Whirlpool, We find out the part was shipped but damaged so another part was to come in March 9th. Again no call on the 9th so I call Advanced and whirlpool the part was suppose to come in march 11, again I call both and I speak with a rude man from whirlpool, I as how do they track parts that are suppose to come in for repairs. He tells me they can track parts cause they can come for all different venders. So I ask does whirlpool make the parts or does another company? He responded whirlpool. I asked why would you not track parts. Last I new everyone tracks all parts as its money coming and going. After that I gave up with him. So we have a snow store and I'm told its coming in Friday March 16th. Again I call Advanced and they said now its coming ion Monday March 19, So I call again and they tell me its coming in March 21. So I ask is there a tracking number for the parts and the lady at Advanced said yes. I say why is it that since the last week or so no one can tell me where the part is. I now know why these companies suck. No one can track packages and they are losing millions a year cause they send parts with out tracking or the people they hire don't have enough knowledge to track packages. So ill wait to see if I every get a call in March. Guess its almost time to hire a attorney

I appreciated reading your concerns but have a difficult time deciphering exactly what has taken place with your order. For example, what exactly its a "snow store?"

I will suggest that the replacement of a physically broken part is extremely rare, in that it normally does not fall within warranty.

Whirlpool whirlpool refrigerator

My Whirlpool Refrigerator is approximately 6 years old and it has been making noises for 4 years. In the past year, on the exterior of the refrigerator, the paint is chipping away. This refrigerator seems to be more like 26 years old than 6. Does Whirlpool stand behind their product? I bought a matching oven thinking that Whirlpool was a good company.

Appreciated reading your concerns. I can understand your frustration.

Whirlpool is a great company which, itself, owns multiple other brands. To be cost effective, Whirlpool, like most other companies, provide a one year limited warranty with their products. However both Whirlpool and many of the retailers Whirlpool sells through, offer extended warranty coverage.

When you purchased the product, did you elect to have the unit longer than the first year?

Whirlpool dishwasher

I recently bought a WDT750SAHBO new dishwasher. From the very start it did not drain completely. At times it would keep a small amount in the filter area, which I understand is normal.-other times it left a large amount which drained out on floor when door opened. A service man said it is a plumbing problem, but it is the same plumbing that has been OK for 40 years, and several machines! I talked to a plumber, and was told it must be a defective machine. I am very unhappy at the present! We are not using it at this time.

I can press the "cancel drain" button when water is standing in the bottom of tub, and some times it will drain, and other times it won't.

Whirlpool whirlpool wed4916fw-dryer

Our client purchased a Whirlpool Dryer and I have been on the phone, over the past four days trying to get a service appointment. The dryer was purchased on 8/25/17, drum is not turning and the dryer is not heating. I was promised by Whirlpool service, in an email that a authorized service company could resolve my clients problem and the appointment is scheduled for 3/22/18. I called the service company directly to confirm the appointment date and they had no record of an appointment for that day. So Whirlpool lied to me in an email. Next day I called, same run around, called the following day, same run around and I am on my last phone call on hold. I work for a builder, that buys appliances for our customers, going forward I will not recommend Whirlpool products. Limited service companies in my area. Worst customer service, lie to you to get you off the phone.

Whirlpool unit/model: whirlpool washer dryer wwde 7512

*Complete Name: Minerva R. Villaflor
*Address: 14 Garcia st. Phase 7 Bahayang Pagasa Subdivision, Imus, Cavite
*Contact No. [protected]
*Brand: Whirlpool
*Unit/Model: WWDE 7512
*Serial No.: 853304480000
*Date of Purchase: Feb 27, 2018
*Concern: I bought a 7kg Whirlpool washer/dryer (WWDE 7512) at Abenson - Ayala Malls Serin Tagaytay on Feb 27. Item was delivered next day but I had the item received by a relative as I was still in Tagaytay. While checking the unit tonight I noticed that the options (Panel) were written in English and Arabic. And to my dismay, the manual which is normally found inside the unit is damp and the staple wires were rusted giving off a dry fish like smell.

I am under the impression that I am a victim of misrepresentation which violated my right as a consumer. Two things:

1. i think this unit didn't actually passed quality checking or if it was an unopened and unused unit, how come the manual was damp and staple wires rusted? How come it has a stinky odor?

2. The unit was presented by Abenson and Whirlpool Philippines to be equipped with "6th sense" contadicting the website from where the item was actually shipped from. In fact Exatech, the sole distributor of Whirlpool in the Philippines even claims it on their website that the unit I bought uses a "6th sense technology.

Please refer to the links below for comparison of tech specs of the unit:

Whirlpool washing machine - horrible

Horrible Customer Service. I purchased a washing machine in November, 2015 and my repair tech came out in March, 2018 and said that the bearings ruptured and the washing machine is unrepairable - Model WTW 5000DW1 - due to poor manufacturing. I contacted the place that I purchased it at and they directed me to Whirlpool. This is where I was told had I purchased the extended warranty, they would assist. But because they were not going to stand past the one year standard warranty and could not support their product to perform past that one year, they would not assist- shocking that they take that position on their products. I could have a repair tech out of their choice that I would pay for to be told exactly the same thing. And if I wanted to, they could sell me another item that they would not stand behind at a discounted rate - seriously! It will be a very cold day before I purchase another Whirlpool item with that type of service for the customer who paid good money for this washing machine. I was beyond amazed at the amount of excuses one organization to could provide through three different people. The talent to train their team with those horrible answers was impressive.

Thank you for the note. Yes, I would agree that Whirlpool is not obligated to extend any services. However, I did report multiple sources that this is a defect in these machines that both the repair service and the sellers of the machines are reporting. They were not willing to investigate further and basically told me I was out of luck. My other frustration is that we are no longer able to purchase items for hundreds of dollars that will maintain service for any period of time past the warranty that only results in the consumers having to purchase additional protection for more money. I understand that the complexities of electronics will impact this. However, this is not an electronic issue but rather a defect in the manufacturing of the machine which I can only hope is not a short cut that the consumers are paying for. I also do not believe Customer Service can be maintained with cards we give these team members to work from. That only fueled my anger and unfortunately, they were recipient of my frustration. We should not feel obligated to always have to purchase an extended warranty because we cannot rely on companies to support their products. I have investigated another vendor who is offering a three year warranty on their product which I find very interesting.

Appreciate hearing back from you.

I appreciate what you're suggesting, but I hope I can give you a little more insight into what we're discussing.

As you know, the WTW5000DX is a top loading, high efficient washer released by Whirlpool. One of your central concerns, I believe, is that the problem you've experienced is NOT unique to you, but one experienced by multiple other consumers. As such, you are suggesting a need for further investigation by the manufacture.

Within the world of global consumerism, and the fact that each of us have access to the internet, it would be rather rare to have an issue that wasn't also experienced by, and spoken about, other consumers. As an example, I had a flat tire the other day. Not surprisingly, other drivers of the same series of vehicle have also had a flat tire. Should that then suggest the vehicle be recalled because of a flat tire issue? Of course not. This isn't to belittle your problem. It really isn't. But anything produced can have issues. The manufacturer isn't going to spend any great amount of time concerning themselves with each issue, because there's not enough people really having the problem to suggest a defect in design or workmanship. I know that's not what the person who's having the problem wants to hear, but it is the core reality in consumerism.

As far as warranty coverage is concerned, we have to accept a couple of truths: First, not every unit coming off an assembly line will work flawlessly forever. Because of the environment it is being used within, because of the way it is being used and, sometimes, just because, a product you purchase will have issues before one might think it should. Secondly, large manufacturers know statistically what percentage of those units will have problems within a certain time frame. Through a process of statistical analysis, the manufacturer also knows an average cost to those breakdowns. They could place longer warranties on their products but that also raises the cost of each unit which, in turn, raises the cost to the consumer. Unfortunately, too often, consumers are cheap. They want to spend the least amount of money, so the manufacturer allows the retailer to price out their own extended service programs. As a consumer, we can then all decided whether additional warranty coverage is worth it to us individually. THE REAL MISTAKE IS BUYING A PRODUCT WITH A MORE LIMITED GUARANTEE AND THEN COMPLAINING WHEN ADDITIONAL COVERAGE ISN'T THROWN IN, AFTER THE FACT. It's not that you're unique in this area, but you really are finding out that, especially in this case, you really do get what you pay for.

Finally, you're suggesting a unit that comes with a three year limited warranty. There are two products that I'm aware of. One is a specific Maytag unit which also offers the same unit with a one year, limited warranty. The one year version IS IDENTICAL TO THE THREE YEAR VERSION BUT SELLS FOR SIGNIFICANTLY LESS. In fact, you can purchase the one year limited version and have enough money left over to purchase more than a five year warranty from most retailers. Also, it's important to point out that Maytag is 100% owned by Whirlpool. Buying one brand is the same as buying the other.

Also, there's the Speed Queen line. They actually have models that come with a five year limited warranty. However, as you may know, these units start out close to, if not over $1000. They're a really good option if you understand that they're a "cross-over" design meant to work more similar to older traditional models. However, here again, we see that having that longer warranty costs additional money. Because of their design, you may also find it necessary to replace your dryer, as the 5000 series dryer won't do a good job with the loads that Speed Queen puts out.

Hopefully this all helps.

With respect, you're not likely to find any consumer level appliance that comes with anything other than a one year limited warranty. It's frustrating because human nature wants to blame someone else but, if you're honest, you'll accept that Whirlpool isn't doing anything different than what was offered at the time of purchase.

What I would suggest is taking the time to shop and compare the retailers in the area based upon their extended warranty offerings. Most retailers will meet other retailer's pricing, so buy totally based upon service coverage.

By the way, that 5000 series is actually really nice.

Whirlpool product malfunction for 2 years that started less than 2 months after install

On 2/6/16, I purchased 3 brand new Kitchenaid appliances at Best Buy. I purchased a Dishwasher, Range, and Microwave. Install was 2/18/16 where we were told that neither of the cords we were sold could be used (Range cord and Dishwasher Kit), so my existing cords were used for the Dishwasher and the Range. There was also burnt plastic on the Range that had to be cleaned off. When trying to return the unused cords, we had to get approvals and overrides that took an extensive amount of time. The part numbers on my receipt didn't match the part numbers on the packages because they were pulled incorrectly by the Warehouse. This was just the beginning of my journey with Whirlpool.

In April 2016 I noticed that the dishes just weren't clean. The inside of the drum looked dirty. Food remained on the silverware and dishes and they would rarely be dry. Service was requested and 4/22/16 a technician came from Guinco. He proceeded to tell me that I needed to use Affresh cleaner and Jet Dry. He gave me a couple samples of Affresh and sold me more for $17.21. I used all the products he said and followed his directions. I used one of the Affresh samples he gave me prior to his second arrival. When he returned on 5/9/16 I was not there, but he told my boyfriend that I was a liar because I wasn't using the products he told me to and that there was nothing wrong with my machine. He didn't remember he gave me samples and since I hadn't opened the new package he sold me, he assumed I wasn't doing what he said. So he left after not doing anything and calling me a liar.
In May, 2016 I called in and requested a different service provider as my dishes were still dirty, but now error code F6E9 was on my Range too. On 5/31/16 Appliance Rescue Service came. I told him what the Guinco technician had said and done and the products he said I needed to use. So now this technician tested my hot water heater temperature and we adjusted it to 130 degrees as he didn't think the water was hot enough to dissolve all the soap which is where the residue was coming from. He also said Affresh was a waste of money and to get Dishwasher Magic. Of course, he had some and sold it to me for $6.95. He did concur that I needed to use a Rinse Aid and that I needed to prime the water before running the dishwasher. He also ordered a replacement motherboard for my range. He finished on 6/10/16. Photos were taken June 14, 22 and 25 and all show continued dirty dishes.

I spoke with Whirlpool again on 6/16/16 to get someone else out to check the dishwasher. I asked for the early window so I didn't have to be too late for work. So the company, Accent gave me a window from 11-1 that did not work with my schedule so I called to reschedule. I was told during that call (6/23/16) that my products would not be exchanged, only repaired. I asked to speak with a supervisor who proceeded to tell me that I wasn't using the right soap in my dishwasher and that I must have bad water. On 6/24/16 I scheduled a water analysis that yielded the following: Water 12, PH 7, Chlorine 1 and TDS was 290. So basically all my numbers were good.

Between June-September 2016 I called again with the Range error code, dirty dishes and now the rubber piece from inside the soap dispenser was coming out. The man who came didn't leave any paperwork or a business card so I don't know anything about him or that company. But he fixed the rubber piece and replaced the Range motherboard again.

Quite honestly I just didn't have any more fight in me so I just decided to pull out my range from the wall, unplug it and push it back when the error code appears and I wash all my dishes before I put them in the dishwasher. But now my dishwasher won't drain and the water is just sitting in the tub.

My dishwasher went over to Product Review and I have been offered a different model machine that is valuing less than what I originally paid for mine, with a $215 Participation Fee. Really? As Customer Service, I would be embarrassed to ask for a penny from a customer who went through what I did in 1 year.

In my counter offer to Whirlpool, I said I would take the replacement and pay $100 instead of $215 and I asked for an extended warranty to be included. I was told that I could put the saved $100 toward the warranty on my own.

I truly believe that people failed at their jobs which kept me from getting a Product Review before the first year ended. While I appreciate the gesture they have proposed, it is insulting. Am I really expected to pay anything after all that I have been through? I just made my last payment to Best Buy. It has been so difficult to continue paying for appliances that I know are defective.

What I would like…..
Dishwasher KDTE334GPS
No Participation Fee
2 year extended warranty
Haul away old dishwasher

The above would prevent me from putting many negative reviews on all avenues of Social Media detailing ALL of my awful experiences with Whirlpool, Kitchenaid, and Best Buy for the past 2 years. I have a lot of free time and will make getting the news out my mission.

I have until March 5 to give the Product Review team my answer on whether I will be accepting their offer. Hopefully, I will hear from someone prior to that. Thank you for reviewing my complaint fairly.

Hi Danielle.

Appreciated reading your concerns and issues with the products you've outlined. I'm sure I might be of some service.

To being with, it might be appropriate to clarify to any readers that Whirlpool is the parent company to Kitchenaid. Kitchenaid is an upper division product line. Their quality is some of the best produced and rated as such by most reviews.

Your initial difficulties start with the dishwasher not cleaning to a level you feel is appropriate. The pictures you've supplied are appreciated; along with the detailed information you've left, I believe I can lead you toward an amicable solution. The dishwasher remedy is multifaceted.

First, you stated, "...and I wash all my dishes before I put them in the dishwasher." THIS IS A HUGE MISTAKE and one that seems to be perpetuated throughout the country. Let me explain: Many years ago a few major states passed pro-environmental laws which required the removal of phosphates from dishwasher detergent. The detergent manufacturers weren't about to sell a certain line of detergents in some states and different detergents in others, so the manufactures removed the ingredient from their entire product line. Why is this important? Phosphates were the active ingredient within the detergent. Without it, detergents wouldn't activate. And without activating, the detergent residue would simply be left within the tub settled upon the contents -- thus the pictures you've produced. The solution is relatively simple -- when loading the dishwasher you want to become accustomed to scrapping the plates to remove the larger pits or bones, BUT LEAVE THE REST OF THE DEBRIS. It is the grease that allows the detergent to activate and do the job as it's intended and thereby resolving one of your major problems.

Secondly is that you've shown plastics that display residue as well. In part, the first step of this solution will help with this remedy as well. I'm listing this separately because plastics are something that are difficult for any dishwasher to dry. At best, if the dishwasher has fan assisted drying, it may help, but not completely dry the plastics within any dishwasher. Kitchenaid is one of the very best American designed dishwasher -- this doesn't mean that it is built within the U.S. but rather, that it uses a design philosophy that is common within the U.S. -- that of using a type of Calrod element to heat the water and dry the contents. As such, you should ALWAYS PLACE PLASTIC CONTENTS IN THE TOP RACK(S). Having a water softener is of benefit, and generally will produce longer use of any water based appliance. In either case, rinse aids are important to allow less water spots after the dishwasher is completed. With that said, you may still find it necessary to hand dry some of the plastic items within the dishwasher tub.

Lastly, you're now saying that water is being left in the bottom of the tub. It is very possible that this is because the filter now located in the bottom of each KItchenaid dishwasher has become plugged. This is good as it is doing what is intended. However you need to remove the filter, and empty it out within the trash. After a thorough rinsing, place it back within the bottom of the dishwasher tub.

I'd also like to address your difficulties with the range you suggest you're having. The error code you're getting should not be happening, but can quite possibly happen because of improper power input. Although replacing the power connection to the range would be suggested, if for nothing more because you don't want to continue using an older connection involving "burnt plastic." Frankly, I'd be more concerned that you're exposing yourself to a fire hazard. It would also be a good idea to have a certified electrician check the 220 power outlet the range is connected to, as it may be responsible for the whole problem.

Hopefully this all helps and you'll find yourself being extremely happy with your Kitchenaid products.

Replying to comment of Shaun R.

Shaun,

Quite frankly none of this helped. Maybe I wasn't as clear as I should have been. I honestly shouldn't have to be documenting my horrible experiences that happened in the first year, but I can't get anyone to really listen to me.

First of all, I did as you said and scraped leftovers in the trash and put less than clean dishes in the dishwasher. I only started "washing my dishes" when the dishwasher continued yielding a dirty result. And I don't mean used detergent, I just water cleaned everything off. So I tried turning up the water, getting mine tested, changing cleaning products, priming the water and using rinse aids. Still dirty most of the time.

Secondly, most of the time I put my plastics on the top only, sometimes another family member will use the bottom, but the dishes don't dry any better on top or bottom. I am even mindful to pull the bottom rack out first and move my way up to avoid spillage from above. Some glass items and silverware are still wet after the dry cycle completes, it does not discriminate against plastic on the bottom.

Third, I did check the filter and there was nothing in it to be rinsed off or out. The water just isn't draining.

As for the suggestions of what I need to do when it comes to my Range, shouldn't the technician who installed it, or came out the first time or the second time or now the third time just last week have known to check what you are suggesting? Should I really be responsible for having a certified electrician out to check what was working just fine with my old Range that I had the first year I lived here? And shouldn't Kitchenaid be concerned about burnt plastic and fire hazards if you are?

I am not paying any more out of pocket than I have to and shouldn't have to pay anything at all. And Shaun thank you for your comments, but your suggestions don't put me in any better of a situation than I was previously. Do you work for Whirlpool?

And no Shaun, I am not happy with Kitchenaid. I went ahead and ordered the new Dishwasher and paid $115 more. I will not purchase Kitchenaid again. I called to tell them I accept the new machine and now I will wait another 7-10 days to get on the schedule for delivery.

Whirlpool customer service return call

We have been trying to get service to repair a problem with our Kitchenaid refrigerator purchased 2/10/17. We had been given 3 different numbers to call and finally was able to talk to a human being. In telling her what the problem we were having, she then asked if we had called the number that was in our refrigerator. All she wanted to do was argue about a number that was to be in the refrigerator. Telling her there was no phone number, she hung up on us!
Is this the kind of service you can expect to have from you? I would think not!

Whirlpool sensor over the range microwave

Manufacture defect issue... the microwave will not turn on. keeps saying open/close door. this is a replacement microwave you put in because the first one did the same thing several times. we couldn't get it fixed today because the part is on a national backorder. this tells me you are having this problem frequently. maybe time to recall for defect

Whirlpool whirlpool refrigerator

I am very unhappy with this product. The door shelves have broken twice with regular wear and tear.
My complaint is I have been unable to contact anyone through customer service to obtain a shelf replacement. I have tried three separate times today 2/22/18 to speak to a Whirlpool representative and each time I waited over 30 minutes with no response. I was cut off at my third attempt.
I understand I can obtain a shelf replacement if I order it through the dealer I purchased my refrigerator from but I will be charged more than $30. That is unacceptable.
I request a free shelf replacement or one at a very discounted price. This incident has been extremely frustrating and I am seriously contemplating never purchasing products from Whirlpool again.
I would appreciate if you would act as an intermdeiary and let the Whirlpool corporation know of my distress regarding their product and their inferior customer service. I know of no other way to contact them for help.
Thank you.

Hi Sandra.

Appreciated reading your concerns.

Whirlpool makes a wonderful line of appliances. They are typically rated as some puff the best in the industry. Unfortunately, any shelf is produced to only hold a certain allowable weight. It sounds as if you're exceeding that weight limit on a regular bases; the stress finally causing the shelf to break.

I might suggest rearranging your refrigeration items to allow less weight on these shelves.

A new shelf may be purchased through your local Whirlpool dealer or directly at whirlpool.com. Although you may find these shelves less expensive, second hand, I wouldn't recommend it as there is no way to guarantee it has not been improperly used.

Whirlpool range (wfg520s0as/ serial #: r44422081); ice maker (wrs965ciae00; ser # hr34914015)

Hello!

I am so upset I can't hardly put it in words. I bought a line of whirlpool appliances for my home. I had them stored away in my garage until my home was ready. The appliances were all brand new. I bought them from our electrical supplier GVEC in Seguin, TX. They were marketing them as energy saver. Finally I put everything in my new kitchen. The ice maker of the refrigerator does not work, it never worked. I had customer service here and they told me the motor is broken about $ 400. Then the range. It took forever to heat up from the beginning. Now after half a year of using it, the oven gave up. If I put it on bake it does hardly reach 250 degrees F. Now I used the broil function. Last week I broiled chicken and it smelled funny. I am glad I was in the house and not in the yard. One of the knobs to turn on your top plate with had started melting ! And I also had a thick walled plastic contained on the top of the oven, it started melting too. The top plates were not turned on! My home could have burned down. I am afraid of using it now and pulled the plug. Even the cheap appliances I used to have were not like this. I am very disappointed and regret to have fallen for a brand name. I would like to get a refund at least.

Whirlpool whirlpool duet washer

I purchased this washer in 2010 for $1000 and had to have it repaired in 2014 which cost $250 because a motor went out. Now I told that the mother board is bad and would cost $450 but is no longer made. The repair guy also said that my 8 year old machine was old!
I try to buy American made products and have always bought Whirlpool brands but this is ridiculous. The washing machine should have lasted at least 15 years. The service guy said that most of Whirlpool stuff is only made to last about 8 years.
I don't have my paper work from 8 years ago or the first repair. The repair guy from yesterday didn't do anything other than to tell me that I need a new machine.
Yes I would like to get come kind of credit for this toward a new machine but I need a washing machine now. So I don't know what the solution should be.

Hi Ms. Meadors.

Appreciate reading about your concerns. It's frustrating when any appliance breaks down and one has to deal with unexpected costs of service or replacement.

Whirlpool is a great name in the appliance business and a recommended brand in replacing your older Duet. The average lifespan for most appliances, Whirlpool included, is ten years. Many retailers offer additional warranty coverage for anyone concerned about unexpected costs.

Hopefully this helps.

Whirlpool wrf767sdem01 model k70506995 refrigerator

This product was purchased as new, when in actuality it was a customer return to Loews in Cape Coral, Florida. I have since seen a number of returns of the same model on the clearance aisle, also customer returns. This refrigerator has already gone out twice within the covered warranty period and that is unacceptable to me as a consumer--not to mention the cost. I have since learned that there are a number of design flaws with this particular model, one of the first of its kind produced by Whirlpool. Both involve the defrost cycle and the thermoses, and are reported as recurring problems with this model (confirmed by my service technician). I would like this model replaced with a more reliable, better engineered refrigerator. I've always viewed Whirlpool as a good product, but this experience has changed my mind, most likely for good.

Hi Aqeel. Appreciated reading your concerns. I'd like to help if I can.

Weekday is the model of washer? From where and when was it purchased? Is the warranty coverage through the manufacturer, retailer or third party?

Whirlpool replacement parts

I have an exhaust hood, model #UXT5530AAS. I purchased it because it has a very good exhaust CFM rating. It also has two 40w halogen lights that need to be replaced occasionally. Apparently these bulbs are only available from Whirlpool as similar bulbs are 1/4" longer and will not fit in the fixture. A single bulb will cost you $26.73. I can get similar bulbs from many locations for between $6 - $10 however they are slightly longer and won't fit. I think it is outrageous that you charge this amount for a simple halogen bulb.

Please note that I purchased a washing machine on 06 Nov. 2017 on the first month we already observe that the washing machine has something wrong because I'm using the same brand whirlpool and on the 3rd year suddenly not starting so I decided to buy the same brand because I am fully satisfied of my previous washing machine and for the reason that the warranty is not there already.

Actually 2 service already been done in this washing since I purchased and their technician insisting because of the coach roach that damage my washing machine how can it be?

Kindly take an action please attaching herewith is my receipts and looking forward for a positive reply as still under warranty and at the same time I avail the extended warranty and paid the charges for the same.

Whirlpool lack of returned calls regarding appliance issues from executive office

Last Thursday I received a call at my work and on my home number from Anderson (not sure of his last name). I returned his call within a couple of hours and left a message. After not hearing back I called and left a second message. Still no return call today so I left another message. My problem is that I had two Whirlpool appliances that had issues and after having Chambers repair services out they said dishwasher would cost over $300 to repair and the refridgerator that is less than three years old will cost over $1000 to repair. Needless to say I was shocked that my refrigerators compressor and evaps needed replaced. I really think if you leave a message for a consumer to call back, and they do, common courtesy and good customer service would be to call them back in a timely manner not to even mention my WRF990SLAM0 SN K1024712 refridgerator and dishwasher issue. Whirlpool is top of the line, why is the services so poor and expensive appliances dying an early death?
