$500 money order. Western Union refused to refund a money order that had been lost even though they know the money order was never cash. When I found the Money order they still refused to refund the money although they know the money order had not been cashed. They used the lame excuse that it would cost they to much to research this.
They are CROOKS...

My name is Sylvia B. Johnson, 2 years ago I was sending money to my family and friends in West Africa (Cameroon and Nigeria) I visit both countries in 2016 and I had a visitor visa plus all the necessary shots entering the country and the native villages.

This year 2018; I try sending money to Cameroon and Nigeria and I was deny and all the transactions deny in the system. I am checking to fine out what is my status in sending money to my family and friends. Please let me know what is going on every time my name and phone number enter the system. Thank you for your understanding in this matter. I am a retired Army Veteran, who serve my country for 25 years. I will not try to commit fraud.

Tracking # (mtcn): [protected] - once again, randomly declined by "security" with no notification, no notification, and my son traveling to pick up the funds, "available" according to status.

This company is a total scam. They hold the money to their benefit, issue a credit in 3-10 "business days" and provide absolutely no verifiable reason for denial.

I've used them for over 5 years to send money to my son and family. It's a total scam, and needs to be investigated by federal banking authorities. My only question is who should I ask to investigate this fraud/scam?

I've been getting emails saying I'm a benifcary to a lump sum of Five Million, Five Hundred Thousand dollars usa money if this is so why do i have to pay to get it? I have kids and bills and wanna move so pay me the money of Five Million, Five Hundred Thousand dollars problem solved if it's supposedly mine! Five Million, Five Hundred Thousand tsot!

I have used Western Union approximately 10 times over the last 5 years. Yesterday, I went to Western Union to send my brother some money. Everything went as expected except for him being able to pick up his money. He was once informed that it wasn't available yet to come back later. He went to another location where he was informed that the computer was down or something to that effect. When I checked the status online it showed that I had been refunded and to call customer service. I called customer service only to find out that I was banned from using Western Union, with no explanation why. I've never been involved in any type of online or financial, or Internet fraud, never been convicted of a crime, and I was told that I was banned from using their services. I was flabbergasted. For the record everyone, MoneyGram is so easy and much better.

On 11/2/17 sent payment to an individual named Cora Kennedy for supposed private lender named Kevin Kutnink, Golden Money Loans and Savings Management. He said it was his account manager. This was sent to her needing name and state which is NC only. Transaction number is [protected], fraud case # 1911240.
I have contacted and complained and they say its the consumers problem because the transaction was received and went through. Well, of course it did, the person of course picked up the money but that doesn't mean it was a scam and fraudulent practices.. Western Union does not ask for anymore information of the person the money is getting sent to and anyone can get fake ID. I see that they are many complaints and lawsuits addressing this exact thing. People are to transfer money using third party people scamming individuals and Western Union knows and apparently has not changed its practices.

On 12-16-2017 WU sent a wire transfer to a account that I had previously sent earlier this month for 550.00 dollars in which I didn't send. I contacted WU and was told to contact the authorities and credit card company and that's all they would do, How does this happen when I didn't send this transfer. I will be filing a complaint to the FTC. How does someone that has to have ID and the MTCN number to get the money transfer do this without having it, I asked WU the same question and they again stated to get a hold of the authorities.

on Dic.11/2017 I send $60 to galeana, NL MX to Farmacia Guadalaja, MX at the time to pick up the money the system was down to collect the $ at that time I received a message to my cell, that $ was paid. I have been a customer with WU for many years, never had a problem until now! i am very upset for so small amount of $ WU deprestigue its has been 72 hours and now resolve to this matter tracking# [protected] and the case # is [protected]

I have a complaint about the stores in the state of Delaware the Food Lion stores always say there Western Union is down. I live in Sussex County Delaware but also the ones north of Wilmington Delaware all say the same thing. Are they not happy with Western Union. ? My family uses Western Union quite often and we are very discouraged by this.

I provided all my details to Western Union for a transfer to Pakistan, they deducted funds from my bank in one minute or so, then declined the transfer. I requested they refund my money, they said it will take 5-7 business days, this is an electronic transfer business ( racket), I am led to believe the charges will still apply, $9.00 transfer fee. Unbelievable. The mafia really are in charge.

I have been dealing with western union with ages. Last time I was trying to send money to help in my mom's surgery and expenses to my dad and I was blocked with no specified reason. GRM17091353515079.

I strongly believe there is a mistake and I am asking for a proper investigation and justification to be provided. My mobile number is provided by Etisalat ( our telephone operatior here) and was used by another person named Dina Samman and many others before her.

I am Palestinian in origin am and still is a resident of UAE and a canadian citizenship with no political affiliations what so ever.

I find it very insulting to stop a service with no valid reason and whilst the country here and government here and around them world are aware of my good standing.

At september 7 we conducted an payment trough WU Suriname with MTCN [protected], amount 220usd. But the receiver send me this message:

"Also the payment of WU have been automatic returned to you yesterday because a wrong unsafe operation when i picked it up from a new cooperated E-bank.Please check it by then."

We received it back at september 13 with mtcn [protected], 220 usd
And resend it with MTCN [protected], 220usd at september 9.
And received this from receiver:

"Thanks for your resend payment.Unfortunately it was failed to take out and automatic returned again.The officials of western union said some unclear problems lead to i was forbid to received this money.I do not understand why it was like this.Last month i still got payment.Can you do it again to my wife's account as below?Very sorry about it."

We went to the head office from WU in Suriname, CAritransfer NV.

They told us the payment was taken at september 14, at 8:24 AM local time (china). We checked this and the receiver send me this:

"I checked with officials of western union again.They said the payment had get into my account before.But some unclear problems lead to i was forbid to take out the money from the bank and the money had already automatic returned .Please check it with your local western union office again."

Now I don't know it anymore, can you please help me out with this?

This payment was for PI but now we already missed the embarking slot for the total shipment and best option te send money back to us.
The local office said to uw if money returns we have to pay 70 usd fee for the service? I find this very high.

For a long time, my fund is in Western Union. According to western union, I paid the for insurance and transfer fee. I don't know why the transfer is not for me.(MTCN), So every month they say we want the transfer to start with you, but nothing ever happens and i wonder Please help me
why don't payment transfer to me.

I transferred money to Germany 5 days ago. I was said it will be delivered 08/30, i.e. today. But 2 days ago I was notified that they are reviewing my money and I have to wait for a resolution. They called me yesterday and said that to proceed they need a receiver's ID. How come I should have it? What if this person in Germany is someone I barely know? I told them to contact the receiver. Oh god, that was so obvious. Don't know what will be next.

I have an issue with a money I sent to India. I wanted to speak to customer service, from Texas USA (Central Standard Time 3.07 am, on 4 August 2017). After many circus announcements about entering/speaking Tracking number, amount, phone number etc etc etc, then said, if you want to speak to customer service (24 hours open, a total BS), your call will be recorded etc, now transferring to customer service agent etc, THE LINE DISCONNECT. I tried several times, at least over an hour. Your customer service (24 hours C S, --- Hahaha are sleeping while turned off the system after midnight). Fire them who did it. They are tarnishing Western Union's reputation, they must be working for another competitors under cover. Check them thoroughly where their allegiance are.

July 7, 2017 afternoon after my duty my boyfriend sent money for the payment of the shipment of his important papers, school TOR and other personal documents to be exact. He told me that i can claim the money presenting my valid school ID and school registration form as a proof that I'm a student. however, Western union refused to withdraw the money as I am 20 years old and presenting school ID is not valid. they said Its only for students aged 18 below. I availed Barangay ID to present the next Friday, July 14, 2017. Again they refused as the barangay ID is only for domestic money transfer. I am worried that the money was already send a week and now for 2 weeks and they never allow me to get the money. they asked me to avail postal ID however the process before i get my ID is 15-30 days and I doubt that I can still get the money whenever I receive my postal ID. I told them that its an important matter but they refuse. For a first timer to have a transaction in western union it was a very bad experience. Is there any other options for students who are no longer 18 but is still a student that doesnt have other valid ID's that school ID to claim in western union?

Western union cancels transactions in the name of "compliance" so they can hold the money and invest it. First they confirm via phone and email that everything is in order and the transfer can be picked up and say thank you for choosing wu, then they choose a certain amount of people at random and freeze the transaction and refund it later to sender.

Eventually they will give you the money but according to their customer service center, refund takes 5 to 7 days. So there you go, 5 to 7 days to sit on someone's money to invest and make profit. I was told by the shift manager that wu does not hold money for more than 12 hours, which is nonsense as in my case when I called inquiring about my money it was already 14 hours since they received it, they were sitting on it! I was also told that 5 to 7 days is banking time frame for refund. My bank refunds straightaway, I wonder who wu bank with, acme bank?

I have used their website few times in the past, every was ok then all of a sudden there is a "compliance" issue. Money goes from my bank instantly but the receiver cannot collect it with the reason mtcn is invalid after confirm via phone and email that everything is in order. They don't consider the time and money they have have wasted for both the receiver and the sender in terms of numerous phone calls and in receiver's case even the petrol/diesel. Terrible service and not true to their word. I will have to see how long do I have to wait for this refund, they said 5 to 7 days, but seriously, can they be trusted, it can be weeks/ months, once a liar, always a liar!

I think this "profiting" idea involves only online transactions and not cash paid at dealer locations because that would mean face to face confrontations and both dealers and customers will switch to alternatives. Talking to alternatives, moneygram comes to mind, are they any good? Or similar to wu? Any other, anyone?

I believe wu management has decided to join the world of scammers, so my suggestion is going to be to not to use western union!
