Wendy’s - changed the formula??

I have been a Frosty fan of Wendy's for years and now I find that the Frosty is no longer of quality that I have enjoyed in that time. It simply does not taste anymore like the Frosty that I was accustomed to. I'm very disappointed and I will no longer patronize Wendy's, which was the only fast-food restaurant I ever went to.

Wendy’s great fries ruined by way too much salt!!! -

Wendy's is the only place I buy my French Fries. Even if I buy the rest of my meal somewhere else, I always stop at Wendy's to get my fries.

Today, I stopped at Wendy's and went inside to order my fries. I was told they were just being made. I like that, that means they are going to be nice and hot. This Wendy's ALWAYS has nice hot fries, they really are the bestest!

Anyway, I got my order to go and the bag was steaming hot.

However, those great fries that I'm so used to, were completely ruined by so much salt that they put on them. Now, I have always been one that salts everything, so for me to say something was too salty is really a surprise to others.

After eating just a few fries, my tongue and the roof of my mouth were actually sore and felt raw. My Dad sat down to eat his and he had the same problem. I was so disappointed because they were so fresh and hot and just enough crispiness on the outside yet hot and soft on the inside, which is the way I would describe the PERFECT Fry! I tried to ignore the salt for as long as I could. Then, I even took my fingers and rubbed the salt off each fry before I ate them. It was really hard for me to just throw them away, because as I said, they were cooked so perfectly...but the salt was just too much to handle.

I don't know if one employee salted them, then maybe another came along and salted them, not knowing they were already salted...but why-o-why would you ruin such a beautiful, perfectly cooked fry like that? WHY? WHY? WHY? My Dad and I just couldn't finish them because our mouth and tongue were so sore. It's now been about two hours since I ate them and the inside of my upper lip feels a bit swollen.

I hate to write a compliant because this Wendy's location have always served perfect food for as long as I've been going there...but I just needed to bring this to their attention.

Yeah, I'll still go there and yeah, I'll still buy my fries there, hoping this was just a one time thing.

The location I usually frequent, the fries grew too salty there after they changed to using sea salt. Can't eat them any longer as they are way too salty to eat every time. Evidently they thought sea salt wasn't as potent as regular table salt and started using even more. I've used sea salt for years at home and it works the same as any regular table salt and you don't need more just because it is sea salt. In my opinion however nothing beats McDonald's fries for taste.

They may have been heavily salted, but I suspect there was something else wrong with them.
From their website: Potatoes, Vegetable Oil (contains one or more of the following oils: canola, soybean, cottonseed, sunflower, corn), Dextrose, Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate (to maintain natural color). Cooked in Vegetable Oil (soybean oil, corn oil, cottonseed oil, hydrogenated soybean oil, natural flavor [vegetable], citric acid [preservative], dimethylpolysiloxane [anti-foaming agent]). Cooked in the same oil as menu items that contain Wheat, Egg, Milk, and Fish (where available). Seasoned with Sea Salt.

The Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate does not sound good...from the MSDS:
Physical Appearance and Odor:
white crystalline or powder solid, odorless.
Warning Statements:
WARNING! CAUSES SKIN AND EYE IRRITATION. MAY CAUSE RESPIRATORY TRACT IRRITATION.
B. POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS:
Acute Eye:

Those fresh cut fries at Wendy's are pretty good. But to much salt can ruin fries. I would of prob taken it back and asked them for a new batch.

Lol.. it's a credit card. Of course you have to make a payment at the end of the month. What did you think? The $9 was going to magically pay itself? I work for Old Navy and we are trained to tell you exactly what you need to know when signing up for a card. Just because you forgot to pay off your credit card doesn't make Old Navy a bad company. Even if you didn't get a statement in the mail.. you would think you'd be responsible enough to call and ask why? There was no way you weren't aware that you were charged $9 to the card because we even give you a SLIP to SIGN for the charge. It's not the companies fault that you're too lazy to read.

Oh and another thing... this Lorissa chick lives in Lewiston, ID... this supposed "incident" happened in a completely different state and which none of her friends work with Kyra nor does this Wendy's have surveillance cameras Soooo in all honesty, how does she have PROOF?! SMH... this girl needs to get a life...

What's funny, is that this was all a joke... people got mad and took it seriously but no one spit in anyone's food. . . Actually the supposed "proof" she had, was a petty picture of a facebook status which didn't include the comments that stated "No one actually spit in the food." If you want proof, call the store because people who were working that day know that nothing happened... as for Lorissa, she should go jump her fat ### off a cliff for trying to ruin this girl's job and reputation! Especially when this job is what supports her 2 year old son!

Sincerely,
Kyra's very pissed off best friend :)

Wendy’s fingernail in my sandwich!

My friend and I decided to go and eat at Wendy's yesterday for lunch. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich meal. We sit down to eat and I'm a couple bites into my sandwich when I realize that I'm chewing on something hard.. So i spit it out to see what it is, and it turns out to be a human FINGERNAIL! I start shaking from being so grossed out and decide to bring it up to the counter to show the cashier and manager. All they do is briefly look at it and offer me another sandwich! I asked for a refund because there is no way I am going to eat anything else from Wendy's again! I then throw out the rest of my half eaten sandwich, fries, and drink and my friend and I leave. After leaving I decide to call the Wendys and speak to the manager to see what further action she took. She just kept apologizing and told me that all the employees wear gloves and that she has no idea where the fingernail came from. She told me to go back anytime and she'll give me a free salad or something!
I will never go back to that Wendy's or any Wendy's for that matter! I was sick to my stomach for the rest of the day after that and am now scared to eat anything really!
As of today, I called corporate office to file a complaint, but it didn't seem like they took it too seriously either! Just shows you how these people run their business! EWWWW! I feel absolutely traumatized from this whole situation! I dont think I'm eating out for a long long time!

Unfortunately, I didnt get a pic of the fingernail as it all happened so fast! And I handed off the fingernail to the cashier! To anyone reading this, be aware of what youre eating because you may come across a fingernail in your sandwich! GROSS!

My friend and the fingernail scam. - Pretending to be the friend that came along with me! Hahaha! Unfortunately, this story is 100% true. What a low life you are to make an account to act as the friend that came along with me. I wouldnt need my friend to be a witness or lie, as I said that I brought the fingernail up to the cashier and manager. So they are witness enough! Sorry!.. And I dont have a picture because I was too grossed out to think "ooh maybe i should snap a pic so that people will believe me"! I've already spoken to corporate, only to file a complaint, not make "a few bucks".

Tasha8 - this story is real. If you dont believe it, why are you on here reading through "wendys complaints" and taking time to write a comment about it! Im sure you can find something better to do! "You can do better"!

You know that making fake complaints like this is illegal right. Your friend is just trying to help you. It does not matter whether you are trying to sue them through a scam or if you are just posting this to let them know what happened(or lies about what happened) just posting lies about a company to give them bad publicity is illegal and the fact that the exact same thing happened at Wendy's and Burger King makes you look more like a fraud who is doing this just to get money off a bogus lawsuit.

First of all I was there with you. I am just trying to protect you. You never brought the fingernail up to the cashier because there was no fingernail. I told you at the restaurant, I told you several times after we left the restaurant that this incident never happened. You promised to share the money with me if I went along with it. However I refuse to make money in such a dishonest way.

Sign, I told my friend it was not a good idea to go through with this. There was no "fingernail" that is why she had no picture. She wants me to be a witness and lie and claim I saw the fingernail when I never did. Apparently someone a few years ago found a fingernail in their chilly and sued Wendy's she is hoping to get big bucks from Wendy's. This is all a lie and a big scam and I don't approve of this and though I care for my friend deeply, according to my morals and beliefs I feel I should tell you all the truth and what really happened. I can't believe how far my friend is taking this, even calling corporate and posting it online and pushing it further when this never happened. It is sad what people would do for a few bucks.

Wendy’s customer service - drive thru

Have not visited since last problem I had, but did not have much of choice. Ordered a double baconator, got a single. I remembered last experience and checked to see if the order was complete in the parking lot. sure enough it was wrong. I have yet to have an order correct at this location. If you must go, go inside (be warned that it is very dirty) or do not leave the drive through window without confirming everything. (even though they throw the bag at you and close the window without a word). Manager was very surly, I will not go again.

Wendy’s manager fired employee over family matter

My name is LeClare Lawson and I am a former employee of Wendy's. I was on my way to work this morning and I got a call that my daughter and her aunt had gone missing and that we were going to have to search for them. When I received the call, I immediately went to Wendy's to explain to the manager, Billy May, that I would be unable to come in to work my shift due to this matter. He told me that if I left that I would no longer have a job. He said "I hate to put you in this kind of position, but you are going to have to make a choice. Make some phone calls to find your missing daughter." I explained to him that I wasn't able to get in touch with my sister or my daughter and that no one in my family had seen either of them. He told me "If you leave today, you will not have a job." I looked at him in shock and said "Then I can't work here anymore!" and left. If this is the kind of treatment an employee has to endure for a matter as important and delicate as this is, then I don't want to work for this type of establishment. For a restaurant that was built on a Christian foundation, I believe that this company needs to re-evaluate the principles on which they choose to run their business. I refuse to work for such heartless and careless people. Maybe they will think twice before they fire someone over a family matter.

What difference did it make if I was lying or not. Also to the person who commented on me being non Christian, where did I state that I as Christian in this review. I just stated that Wendy's is based on a Christian foundation, and for a company based on Christian foundations the have many non Christian customs.

My daughter is 15, while I made up the part about my daughter being missing they should at least have been understanding. Also I don't appreciate ex coworker posting my working history there. I ask the rest of you just post your replies on the review itself and not use the information that my coworker gave you. I know who it is and she is obviously jealous of me because I have a boyfriend and she does not. I feel that I am being discriminated against because of my age and history. I am currently 31 and had my daughter when I was 15. When I was younger I used to use drugs and got into trouble with the police. I have changed now. I feel that I am being discriminated against because of my criminal back ground and age and history. I work hard for my daughter. I could not finish school because I had her when I was young and because I cannot get another job.

To those defending Wendy's you must work for them. Does not matter if I had a history of calling in claiming my daughter was sick or missing. She is a minor and had she been missing for real this time they should be ashamed for firing me because I care more about my daughter than coming in.

I had to lie, the real reason that I could not come in was because my boyfriend wanted to take me out. They won't even let me call in sick. They said I called in sick too many times and there is a pattern of when I call in sick. That I call in sick every pay weekend. Since my ex coworker already embarrassed me and brought this up, just thought I would mention this.

Her daughter and sister were safely at home. She always uses her daughter as an excuse when she does not feel like coming in to work, her daughter usually goes "missing" or usually is sick or injured once or twice every weekend in a month. Wendy’s rude employee

The manger that was working May 25, 2012 at 6:23pm Jordan. was a very rude person to another customer. I did not like that at all he maybe a manager but there is no way that they should be rude to anyone. I think the store in Lufkin, Texas should have a little better hold on their employees if they want to keep there customers happy and wanting to come back to their store. Also the store dining room was a mess and there were a lot of tables dirty. I think that they also should hire people that have a outgoing personality and are great-ful to have a job. Because some people don't have jobs in this economy. And every time I go into Wendy's my fries are always cold and they're is no on one at the front counter. Thank you and I hope the next time I visit I hope there is a better expirence.

Wendy’s long wait in line at wendy's drive-thru

After a long day at work on my way home my husband insisted on us not having to cook on X-mas eve. He wanted to go to MCDonalds and I insisted that Wendy’s would be much better and how much I love Wendy’s Hot Chili. We were parked behind a customer for more than 10minutes and we were wondering how much can this people be ordering since they were taking a very long time. It was our car and another car behind us that had been waiting for our turn. When we finally got to the speaker to place our order the employee on the speaker told us they couldn’t take our order that their grill was turned off and closed for the night.

Which I believe was not true how can it be turned off and still have to cook the order for the car from Maryland that had taken over 10 minutes with their order. A young male employee also came out and told us we can’t take your order, we explained to them how we had chosen to be parked their for more than 10 minutes instead of going to McDonalds and he told us that they would not help us it was closed and that was it. My husband and I were very dissapointed. We went to MCDonalds down the street that was is being remodeled and we received the best customer service!

My husband told me, we should have come here in the first place. This Wendy’s is at Central Fl Parkway by SeaWorld.

Wendy’s difficult work conditions at wendy's

I have just recently moved to Louisiana from Massachusetts about 4 or 5 months ago and I have been working at Wendy’s for about 3 and a half months .and so far I’ve been what I think is a model employee in 3 and a half months I have never missed a day I have never been late, I always come when I’m called to come in . Now I told you that to tell you this. Now sence I’ve worked on several occasions I’ve worked 10 plus hours with out breaks.

I plan on going back to school very soon and I came to the management about that and I told them that I might have to tweak my schedule a little bit and I still have to make a living so the only day I had asked them to take me off the schedule was Fridays and then the next thing I know is the following week I was taken off the schedule every day but Fridays . Witch to me seems a little unfair and maybe a little retaliatory !

And further more I opened a bank account about 6-8 weeks ago just so I can set up direct deposit for my self so all my bills could be paid on time so I brought my bank info to my manager so I can get it all set up and sence then my direct deposit hasn’t gone threw wich throws me into finachle debt because all my bill electronicly pull out on every other Friday sence I get paid bi weekly and every time my bills go to pull out and theirs no money in my account do to no direct deposit I get charged 25 $ in surcharges no I’m righting so I can hopefully get all this stuff rectified….

I went to wendy’s to eat and the service was slow and lousy. there was very few people there yet when the cashier did come she was not nice. I was asking questing and she still got the order wrong. Yet I paid for my food over 20.00 and sat down.

Well me and my two nieces were about to eat when a cricket fell from the ceiling and landing on her burger. Well she is only nine years old so she jumps up and start running around the restaurant screaming non of which the manager who is Hispanic came out to see what was going on. They could have been getting rob, but no response.

I went to the counter after 20min of calming my niece and told the cashier what happen and asked to see the manager. She came out with no remource of any such thing and said I wonder what was going on and but I will replace her meal. So we waited another fifteen min. nothing so the cashier brought out another drink and fries and when the burger came up she yelled across the restaurant and said your burger is ready . Maybe I should be calling a lawyer instead .

Wendy’s same wendy's same problem complain number 9,

I was at a local dinner party last night with my husband and we left around midnight and we had taken seperate cars. I decided to stop off at Wendys(the same location from the last complaint)since it was close by and still open, to get a frosty. This was at midnight, an hour before they are scheduled to close as advertised on their window. I didn't get any response at the drive thru speaker again so I drove up to the window. Lo and behold no one was there again. So I pulled up to the dining area and guess who was all sitting at a table eating again? You guessed it, all the Wendys employees who should have been working. This time I was the one driving and my husband wasn't with me. So I parked and went and banged on the door. The manager Stephanie came to the door and I asked her why they were eating and not working, and that I wanted a Frosty". She said she they were still open and they could make me one;. Then I asked her why she wasn't at the drive thru to take my order:. She said they still keep the headset with them, but that the dining room was closed:. I told her I didn't want to eat in the dining room anyway, I came through the drive thru.. Also, if she had the headset on she would have been able to hear me when I started asking if anyone was there at the speaker|. She didn't have it with her as I could tell/. She lied to me.. I just drove on and I am calling the Wendys headquarters again today.

If you had problems from this one location, why do you continue to return? They obviously do not care about your business so do not give them any. This was expected so why are you still complaining about a frosty? Move on ...

Wendy’s rude wendy's management with nasty food

The wendys on san jose next to the sun tire in jax fla is nasty dirty and the employees are rude loud and very disrecpectful also there manager named edward with the greasy hair is nasty to the customers as well as the employees i heard him curse at an employee and i called the 800 number and he still there the store is very very dirty they serve half cooked burgers and chicken fries always cold that is the worst place to eat and if its the last place on earth to eat i would rather die i just thought ppl should know.

We went through the drive through to order food. At the location of 2525 Barrett Parkway, Marietta Ha. We asked if there were regular chicken nuggets on your 99 cent menu. They told us no, and told us the price of the nuggets. We ordered regular nuggets AND spicy nuggets. We got both spicy nuggets. While I was checking the order, we saw the mistake and had to drive back. We had not recieved a receipt for our order. We wanted to change out the nuggets and these people where so rude!

Not only did they basically call us liars when we told then the mix up. They wouldn’t even switch them out with charging the extra 30 cents. It is 30 cents! How rude could this entire crew be over nuggets and 30 cents? Sorry wendys, if you are struggling so much that you have to keep people like this on your staff and get your thirty cents when this crew messed up. Then you can keep them, and loose this customer instead.

Wendy’s very dissatisfied customer

Iv been working a Wendy’s for a little over 3 months and sence then iv put up with working 10 pluss hour straight with no break iv opened a bank account jst so I can have direct deposit so my bills could be paid on time and it’s been almost 2 months sence then and my direct still hasn’t gone threw and on top of that I asked them to tweak my schedule because I’m going back to school and they took me off the schedule every day but the one I asked for which to me seems a little unfair and some what retaliatory.

But if it is I don’t know why cause iv never missed a day I’m always on time and I always come in when Im called but any way thanks for Lisening if any one is. I WENT TO THE WENDY’S LOCATED IN plaza in troy ny. I went there for lunch and the manager was rude, slaming my food on the tray and nasty. first i asked for the manager and to my surprise it was the person who was waiting on me. She needs to go back to management school or maybe not be working with the public at all. to have a manager slamming food telling customers to wait and then act like she was doing us a favor by taking our orders.

POOR POOR DISPLAY FOR A MANAGER TO SHOW HER EMPLOYEES LET ALONE THE CUSTOMER. I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK TO THAT WENDY’S. VERY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER.

Wendy’s sixth complaint

Earlier tonight, my husband and I were leaving an event we were attending at around 12 AM and were hungry. We decided to stop at the local Wendys for a bite to eat. It was around 12:40 when we got there, so they were due to be open for 20 more minutes. We sat there at the drive thru forever before my husband finally said something into the intercom to try to get their attention. He alerted them again and still no response. We drove around to the drive thru and no one was there at all. As we kept going we noticed all of the employees were in the dining area eating. I urged my husband to go knock on the door but he decided to go on. Apparently this "open until 1 AM" doesn't happen at this location even though it advertises it on the windows. I will be getting the number to their head office online and contacting them about this incident. I asked for the head office number and they refused to give it to me. They told me that since I claimed my husband worked for head office. If my husband were not with me at the time I would have lied and told them that he works at head office and demanded they help me or else I will tell him what happened.

Wendy’s stay away from these guys

I just left the wendys on hwy 98 in hattiesburg mississippi and went thru drive in window.. You pay at one window and pick up food and reciept at the other…. No reciept… I asked for a reciept 2 times and was told they were out of reciept paper.. Then I asked for them to simply write it down for me (I keep good records of my debit card) they looked as if I were crazy and stated they had “no pen”…. Hello I had a pen asked what the total was and wrote the information down my self… terrible… and rude about it too! Won”t be back and will tell everyone that will listen! Sorry wendys your out!

For me two complain is unusual, every time this occurs I swear i’ll never go 2 wendy’s again. Ashame because I love the product except for one thing, every time literally I go I can never request a burger without mayonnaise & ketchup and just get mustard. Tonight is the last straw. I always even have them repeat the order get home & have ketchup or dry &! End up feeding it to the dog. Since mcdonald’s, burger king u name it can get this request right it must have something to do with ur cash register buttons.

I frequent the wendy’s on because it’s convenient for me, and I love their wildberry frostees! I must admit that I haven’t been going near as often after I encountered a racist group of people working there. I went inside to order my food, in the line behind me was a black woman. The cashier, who was male, could barely be understood, was rude, and was joking the whole time with the other guys he was working with. I was told that they could not make a frostee that day, yet the lady behind me ordered the same thing, and she was not met with that same answer.

Everyone knows this wendy’s is racist. They need new management, and get people in there who actually likes customer service, this attitude of the wokers has cut their business in half among the students here.

No way can this occur 10 out of 10 times due to staff error.. You would think u would have corrected this problem by now it’s probably happens 2 me literally a 100 times over the last 20 years. But most probably r like me and wait 20 years to complain or give up and go elsewhere. Sure nothing will be done this time either. I figure i’ve wasted at least $300.00 n attempting 2 get something I will eat over the past two decades. I give up!

Wendy’s employers

I am currently an employee for wendys. The way the companies rules are, not right at all. The managers need to be evaluated before they become managers. The store I'm currently working, the managers like to steal an try to set u up (crew member) and make it seem like you're the problem. On top of that they like to threaten you with firing you if you do'nt do what they say. The company espects for you to accept if a costumer disrespects you or a manager. There's alot of favortism with managers an som crew members. If you have to call of they talk one your days off the schedule. If they don't like you they shorten your hours. They can't even trust their own managers with money. On top of this my car was broken into while Iwas on their property working and the general manager said "wendys won't cover replaceing your window". Are you serious? I'm suppose to come back to work as if nothing even happen an be nice to their costumers. Wendys is nothing but a joke. They espect us to work off the clock if we haven't finished our work.Someone really needs to look into this company.

Wendy’s uncomfortable advertising

Recent Wendy's commercials have successfully convinced me to never eat there again. I actually like their food, or used to, but especially after the most recent 'W' commercial, which features a baby eating some kind of slop-like substance while making loud sucking and gurgling sounds, I can't even look at a Wendy's hamburger without literally feeling ill. I even vomited once when the commercial caught me by surprise just after dinner; this isn't an attemp at a joke, I'm very serious, and it was very embarrassing. I do my best to avoid the ad, and try not to watch programs that generally air it, but every once in a while it still pops up. I understand not everyone has such a strong reaction to this ad, but it can't be something anyone actually wants to see, or that makes a person want to buy a hamburger.

So if anyone from Wendy's is out there, I'm begging you: pull this commercial down and have your marketing team use a better focus group next time, please.

Wendy’s poor service and poor environment to eat in

This is not the first time ive felt this way at this wendys. I walk in and it takes around 20 minutes to order with only 3 customers in front of myself. I get my food (Baja salad) and they dont give me the chips to go with it. I ask for the chips and they give me croutons. I walk over to get my ketchup and the dispensers are empty. I ask the lady working there for some and she dumps the packs in my hands and ask myself to put a good share of them on the table for others, (Thats her job). I then proceed to sit down realizing I forgot a fork. I go up to find they have no forks out for the customers, another girl that did not work there had to get the forks. Not some but alot of the tables and benches were not cleaned off and the floor did not look clean at all. To top off the experience the trash was completely full in both trash cans on the way out the door and i could hardly fit my trash in them. My friends and others i know have felt the same way i do about this wendys and were more than willing to go off base if we need too to get food.

Wendy’s bad service

We went to one of your Wendy’s in Ft Scott Kansas the girl who waited on use was very rude there was 3 or 4 of them talking to the workers and the women who were in Lexi 15 mins to even wait on us and then when she started then she just left and 5 mins later she came back to finish our order then i had asked for tea and told her i wanted unsweet tea and when she brought it back to me it was sweet so my son took it back and she got smart with him.

we waited 10 mins for the tea then i was afraid to drink it because Lexi dropped the cup on the floor and started laughing so when the other lady brought me the cup i asked her if it was the cup that she dropped and she got really smart with me it cost a lot to eat Wendy’s and we should not have been treated like that needless to say i didnt drink the tea!

Wendy’s the amount for the price!!!

About a month or so ago I purchased a large frosty. ($2.19) It was filled to the rim of the cup and then there was the domed lid. I stopped again and when I was given it, I said something to the girl that it was not full! She said we can only fill it to the line! Which is almost 1 inch below the rim of the cup! thanks Donna
