Wendy’s sticky, dirty tables, chairs, salt/pepper shakers

A group of eighteen friends go out to a fast food place after church on Sunday night. We went to a Wendy's on Coloniel Glenn Rd . Little Rock, and honestly the chairs, tables, salt/pepper shakers were so sticky all over it was terrible.. When you touched a chair, put your hand on the table to move it or just touched the salt/pepper shaker to use they were so sticky you needed to wash your hands before eating. Two of the ladies ask for a rag to wipe the tables and were given one. The workers didnt offer to clean the tables or anything. The workers looked clean and neat and the food was tasty, but it would be nice to sit at clean not sticky tables and chairs. It was like grease on the outside of a skillet that hasn't been washed with warm soapy water to remove the sticky. Needless to say we will mark that one of our list unless we hear they have done some detail cleaning.

That's pretty gross. I worked at a Wendy's for my first job years ago as a cashier and it was part of my job to wipe tables and clean up a little bit like every hour or so unless I had a huge line of people. Someone is definitely not doing their job.

Wendy’s wrongful disipline

My son Kevin Foley has been working at Wendy's here in Fort Erie for a couple of years now. On Friday August 29th Kevin was scheduled to work at 4pm, he had gone camping with his dad... although i don't agree with all the things my x-husband does; I am unable to control him. He told Kevin that they would not be home in time for him to start his shift, nor would he be home to start Saturday or Sundays shift. Kevin sent me a text stating the above info... and asked me to call Wendy's and let them know... he had no time on his cell phone to call himself. When I called .. the woman said she was the manager, she said that if he didn't call himself that he would be written up. I let her know that I was his mother and he is a minor, also.. that I have called in sick for him too. My son bends over backwards for Wendy's, he does what he is asked and does everything he is supposed to. Now... apparently he has been written up 3 times which gives them the right to fire him... am I to understand that this is ok? If so ... teens should not be in the working field, it is much to depressing for them.

Yours sincerely

Paula Laffin

Wendy’s bad food & service

Even though wendy's calls dublin, ohio, home and does a lot of corporate waste in the metro-columbus, ohio area? This was the last time I go to wendy's! And, I have no qualms what so ever about telling friends, family and co-workers to save their money and go any where but wendy's! And I live less than a mile from where today's fun adventure started!

My "experience" started with me pulling my car to the order speaker, (There was one car ahead of me and one behind me and maybe 2 or 3 cars in the parking lot — hardly what i'd consider busy at 1:26:07 pm!) knowing what I wanted and the order taker's ever so polite and warm greeting of "so, you gonna order or what?" next, when I went to pay and had the same "gentleman" yell, "I don't do dishes!" rather than thank me as he handed me my change. At the next window, I was handed a small bag, and as I peered in I noticed no straw, and then turned back to the window where the young "lady" was shoving my drink into my car. I took the drink, opened the lid and noticed that this was not what I had ordered. (I've learned to check when ordering ice tea and asking for lemon!) I handed the drink back and said that not only wasn't there any lemon, there was barely any ice. Her response was they were "out" of lemon? And then I watched her try and shovel a scoop of ice into a full drink. (Doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that all this was going to do was displace some liquid.) she handed me back a dripping and dribbling cup, and I shook my head in amazement as she then wanted to debate the point why I needed extra napkins? (Oh, I also had to show her the bag to convince her that I didn't have a straw! Thanks cynthia!)

When I got home? My single with just onions and ketchup? If you guessed this wasn't what I got? You'd win the prize! I got a sandwich dripping with mayo, mustard, pickles, a small piece of lettuce, a tomato and yes, there was an onion and a gallon of ketchup! The fried were ice cold in what hardly constituted a full container!

You bet I called! I was told at first, call back the manager was too busy to take a call? I stuck to my guns and ended up with a woman who was going to "tell me" about "my" experience? Shock and surprise when she told me to stop yelling, even though I maintained a very neutral tone in a normal speaking voice through out our "conversation" and when this was pointed out to her? Her response was that she could "now" understand me? And her response to my "great experience"? She offered me the free meal, and then hung up on me! So I suppose. Anyone can go to this store and say that they'd called in about a meal that was screwed up on sunday august 31, 2008 around 1pm, and get a free meal?

Guess I try and get a hold of the hudson street columbus ohio gm (Who according to my sales slip is tim schoondard from store #112) and give him a chance to explain his staff's less than stellar customer service and why on a long weekend, his produce order did not anticipate customers ordering ice tea and asking for lemon with their tea? And then there's the issue of the slop on a bun. One would think that if the customer doesn't want the tomato and other goop, that there would be this policy somewhere that would connect the dots from less stuff translates to saving the company a penny or two here and there will add up and reduce waste? I guess that is another one of the contributing factors on why wendy's has slipped in sales and why they were just bought out! (We won't even factor in how poor customer service has contributed to their fall!)

I hate these happy people that allow businesses to continue to offer poor products and services by just forgiving. Good job for sticking to your guns and demanding to be treated with respect, as well as your right to a quality product in exchange for your hard earned money. I had a similar experience with Wendy's today and I applaud you.

I don't eat at Wendy's, or work at Wendy's, or know anyone that does work at Wendy's.. But everybody makes mistakes. It's not good that they messed up your order, but I could imagine working at a public service for a few hours. Can't you? Think about it:

You have been working at Wendy's since 8 a.m. this morning. You're working at the drive-through speaker; you've had to deal with people that had quiet voices; or people that keep changing their minds on their orders; or just rude people in general. You really have to go to the bathroom, but you haven't had your break quite yet, you still have to wait an hour or two. You think about how you just want to be with your family or friends, but you know you have to get paid for something. The heat coming from the kitchen is making you sweaty and impaitent. You make a few mistakes on ONE order; and you're completely blamed.

Everyone can get a temper, everyone makes mistakes, nobody is perfect.
They try their hardest, and try to make Wendy's enjoyable for you, so you'll eat there again. Is it so hard just to forgive and forget?

Wendy’s by employee

I am an employee, well use to be an employee of Wendys for about a year. From August 2007 up to the 22nd of August 2008. Wendys was unfair to their employees at the location on Rosevelt blvd. . Ramsy Development closed down the store location and never let any of their employees know till the day they were closeing down. We had no warning and no means to plan for what was going to happen. They promised us all a place to go to one of their other locations, but it still has not happened for me yet. I was use to working 5 days a week. The they had the nerve to tell me that they could give no mor then maybe 2 days week. Mind you we get paid bi-weekly. I have 3 children in which I take care of by myself. I have bills, car ins., gas.school activities for my 8 year old, babysitting, and how bad the economy is right now with all there prices of everything being so high now. When I did try to have this matter resolved with the direct manager (Victor). Victor told me not to call his office anymore. Ramsy development did not care about 3 shifts af people. A night crew and a day crew. We as employees and people have been over looked. As if we did not matter to them. Now I am looking for a new job when I had a perfectly good one. Someone, anyone, if you believe in the rights of all people and you read this...I deserve to be able to keep my hrs. and my job to support my family. The Ramsy Development company of Wendys has failed to let me be able to survive this hard time our economy is going through. As a single mother I am reaching out to help from one human being to another. Thank You!

Wendy’s food issues

Sunday, we went through the drive through at the Soddy Daisy, TN Wendys. We ordered and had to wait for my husbands chicken sandwich. When we got home, we fed the girls and ate our sandwiches. My husband grabbed one of the extra nuggets out of the bag and popped it in his mouth. My girls wanted a few more nuggets so I got the rest of the nuggets out of the bag.

On the top nugget there was something on it. I took the nugget out and there was still a feather sticking out of it, actually baked/ fried into the batter so that it was still hooked to it. I was disgusted! Surely, if the company had the right inspectors/ health policies, someone would have noticed a whole feather sticking out of a chicken nugget! By the time it reached my hand, how many people looked at that nugget and "didn't" realize it?

I have had several bad issues with food lately, and I am so tired of it. It is food that the entire nation is eating and no one wants to do things right and health safe. When will people realize we need to be watchful of what is going on with our food products?

Wendy’s poor service

When I ordered my salad, the chicken was not grilled, so I ask the woman behind the counter if I can have my grilled chicken instead of fried. (First of all they did not ask me if I wanted fried and 2nd is that the picture in the place has a grilled chicken on the salad so that was why I didnt tell her grilled. I came in Wendy's before and I ordered the same salad and the chicken I got was grilled without having to tell them.)
Well the Person that I talked to was not nice and very hateful. She gave my a salad and I went to my seat but I looked at my salad and their was still fried skin on it and I think it is unprofessional for her not to give me just another salad. So I went back up their to the counter and told her about the salad still having fried skin on it, well she rolled her eyes and made a grunt where I could here it. She was talking about me, because all the other workers in the back was looking at me when she was talking to them.

Wendy’s bad service, wrong food, bad attitude

They almost always forget to give you something in your drive thru order, even when asking them direct for it. If you ask for ketchup for your fries, they give you attitude and dirty looks. If you don't check your order before driving away, there is always somthing missing you paid for. This was over a several month time period before I gave up on their lousy service. Fresh Burgers... YA RIGHT, burnt food, cold hard fries. Talk to the manager and he could care less. Conveniently, Wendy's website has no way to file complaints. Hopefully now that Arby's has bought them out, they will improve some. HOPEFULLY! I'll go back to McDonalds.

Wendy’s small bolt in hamburger

On May 19, my husband got and chewed on a small stainless steel bolt in Wendy's hamburger. He spit the bolt out into his hand. We couldn't believe it! I took the burger and bolt back into restaurant, as we were sitting in our car. I started yelling my husband hurt his mouth from chewing on the damned thing and I wanted to find out where it had come from. To shut me up the manager took me back into the kitchen. I blamed it on the flippers. No they didn't have bolts. Then I looked up above where the greasy burgers were moving down some kind of a mini-assembly line being cooked. The burgers were just floating in grease. The manager refunded the money for our whole order and gave my husband a 'replacement' grease burger. I was promised Wendy's would look for the 'source' of the bolt and the manager would report it to Wendy's Canadian 'hotline'. He apologized for the bolt. I was told Wendy's would phone us between 48-72 hours. Not a word out of Wendy's. So I tracked the hotline number for Canada, phoned it, they had never heard of my husband getting the bolt. I sent the health inspector over. Where did the bolt come from? and what is Wendy's going to do about preventing other people from getting 'bolt burgers'?

Wait, if you ordered a salad, why did you accept the burger? Burgers are the round objects wrapped in foil. Salads are in a plastic bowl.

You can usually tell the difference straight off.

Wendy’s terrible service!

Has this happened to anyone else at this location? I drove through, ordered a single hamburger and small diet ($4.61 Total). I handed the young gal at the window (blonde with nicely French manicure nails) a $20 bill along with .61 cents specifically so I would receive only bills for change to give to my daughter for lunch money. Another girl (dark hair and lots of make up) quickly pushed my food out the window. I sat there long enough to unwrap my straw and place it in my drink. Then I drove away. About two hours later, having realized my mistake, I called the restaurant. Rachael identified herself as the manager and I gave her my phone number to call me back after she looked into the matter. Later Latasha called me, identifying herself as the manager and said, "I checked registers and they all came out perfect." (How often does that happen in the fast food business?). No offer of compensation. Bad, bad customer service! Just curious if this location has other complaints of the same nature...

Wendy’s terrible service!

This is the third time we have ordered and paid for food that was not in the bag at this same Wendys. They really don't seem to care. Tonight we ordered a burger, fries, 2 bowls of chili, a potato and drinks. They left the burger and fries out. I had first ordered a frosty but they didn't have that. Isn't that one of their signature items? Last week we ordered a potato and chili and they left the chili out of the bag. Did not discover that until we got home. Both of those were at the drive through. I went inside and ordered for my husband and myself and when I got home, discovered they left his sandwich out of the bag. He only had fries. I really think this particular store kind of sucks. As far as I'm concerned, Three times and they are out. I will never go back to this Wendys.

Wendy’s horrible service!

I had very bad experiences at the stores at 15th Avenue South and 4th Street South. I complained to the corporate website and was contacted by Shelley Lewis, the District 51 manager. My initial order at the 15th St. store was shorted and poorly prepared. Ms. Lewis emailed me that she would provide 2 free combos as replacement.

I went to the 4th St. South store and this is where my horror story starts. I was treated like "white-trash" by the all-black counter servers, the Baconator had just 21/2 slices of bacon instead of the 6 stated on the menu board, a scrap of lettuce and a swipe of mayo. My triple with cheese looked like the patties had been sitting in the warmer trays for an hour, all dried-out and dark brown; the onions were stringy and tough like they'd been out of the cooler all day long. I was served soggy, limp fries that had also been in the warmer too long. When I asked for fresh order of fries, Sonya told me, "They look fine to me." And, "If you don't like our fries, you probably won't like our sandwiches." She was right! The Burgers were pure junk. I had to bag my own order after Sonya was told it was "to-go" instead of dine-in. While bagging my own order, she huffed, "You gotta get out of the way for these other customers!"

I e-mailed Ms. Lewis back with this horror story and she wanted me to go back to the scene of the crime and roll my dice with this crew again! I was insulted and humiliated. I pursued the proper channels of procedure with Wendy's and got the Big Screw.

I'll never go back to a minority-operated Wendy's in south St. Petersburg ever again. You shouldn't either if you don't want to get ripped-off or mistreated. These Wendy's people are obviously very poorly trained and could care less. I was offered a mere "Baconator" combo by Ms. Lewis if I went back to the place where I got raped. No Way!

First of all you are an Idiot. By the way you are pissing a fit all over the internet about this store and Posting this District managers Phone number, it is obvious. Have some balls and post your phone number you wimp. You were Raped? Man how can you use that word in describing poor service. You are just a low life that likes to raddle cans and make noise. If you were so upset at the way the cashier treated you, why didn't you tell her? Or maybe find out where she lived and told her daddy that she was rude. Oh yea... you would of probably gotten your ### kicked... Its easier to go after a District manager who has to be as nice as possible and listen to your tirade. What the Hell did you want this woman to do for you? Did she appologize and try to make it right? Did she offer to refund your money? Hell I'd pay you real money to just shut up.

You are truly a weasel and Karma will get you one day. The real sad thing is you probably posted this stuff on every web site you could think of and will never have the nuts to check or read the responses.

I've had the same experience at these locations. If you're white they make it known that your are not welcome there and do their best to make sure you don't come back. Servers were very discourteous and impolite. No manners or courtesy or customer relations skills. Uniforms were filthy and dirty. Food also poorly prepared or orders shorted. It's obviously not worth taking the time to complain anymore. A mere bacon combo for all that nonsense and mistreatment? Whoa!

Wendy’s we got shot by a security guard in one of the restaurants!

We went to a Wendys restaurant with my family, we ordered and they messed up (typical) we complaint with the manager and they just did not care. we went to the tables to eat then my Sister went to buy some cheese, one of the clerks smacked the tray into the counter and said to her "###" then she asked for a paper bag and they gave her one with a hole in it.

So I got up and went to the counter, I spected that the "manager" would take the matter into his hands and speak with me, he didn´t he sent one of the clerks to tell me "get out" at this time I was so mad I pushed the door open and the glass from the restaurants door crashed, so I told my family to get into the car and we left. as I was turning around I stoped and tryied to cme back to solve the problem (the Door), so both of the private police officers at the restaurant started shooting at my car, MY WIFE AND KID WERE IN THE FRONT SEAT WERE ONE OF THE SHOOTS CAME TROUGH, I had to drive fast to evade the private police, then I got back with the real police and made them capture them.

I am dissapointed at Wendys because there is no way that one person can shoot any body with the intention to kill him only because a glass door, please tell me what can I do to make this restaurant pay for what they did, because one of the clerks was telling them "Shoot them Shoot them that´s why you have the Guns"

please give me an answer.

I have photographs to support my accusations.

At the time, consulting an attorney would be advisable. Depending on the laws of the area, you may have grounds for a civil suit. Criminally, the police may become involved. As you correctly state, the grounds for lethal force are lacking. In most cases, it may only be used in self defense or the defense of life. Property damage rarely meets this.

An attorney may be able to help you with a civil case against Wendy's, the company the security guard worked for, and even the security guard.

My husband went to the bathroom at Wendy's - Lebanon, NH and said one of their employees was in there. He left the bathroom with never washing his hands.

I am in Guatemala too. No they did not shot at me. The thing is I am NOT allowed to park at Wendy's Restaurant. Why? Because I come on a motorbike and not in a car. Therefore all parking lots are for cars only (the guards say) I asked today, if I am less a client on a 1200ccm Yamaha Super Tenere than in a car. The answer was "YES"! Today I tried for the 3rd time and last time to buy myself a Wendy's burger - it is not possible. If I do not leave the parking lot, the guard's hand is going to get the gun out.
I am utterly shocked by this behaviour! And one cannot complain to Wendy's Head Quarters because Guatemala is not on their list (only Canada, USA, El Salvador and Costa Rica). There is no way to send an email. These guys are absolutely irresponsible!
I was always a Wendy's fan - but I am not anymore.
I admit the burger is good - but not worth to get shot!

Basically, what you are saying is that your money is no good simply because you do not drive a car or truck. I disagree.

I am not in Guatemala. You might try contacting the ACLU in the United States. They may or may not handle cases in Guatemala but they may be able to offer some legal advice. An attorney in your area might also be able to help.

Companies often can choose who they serve, within reason. This is a rather stupid reason to deny service. If you have friends who also ride, you may start a petition. If you belong to a club or organization, you may talk to them. If this is a club that goes outside of Guatemala, you may be able to get attention from the Corporate Office of Wendy's. If all bikers stop patronizing Wendy's, how much money would the company lose?

Bikers are unfairly harassed in many areas. Unless you are causing problems, disturbing the peace, or something like that, you should be allowed to eat where you want to. With companies like these, the best way to fight back is to hit their profits by getting people not to go there until they change the policies of the restaurant.

During the bird flue hysteria, I took my family to Wendys on Calzada Roosevelt. After lousy and slow service, we finally got our food. My burger had nothing on the left. Not a big thing, it had probably only slid over to one side. But when I was half way through my fries, and saw that at the bottom of the cardboard box there was a disposable rubber glow, the kind that they use in the hospitals. I took it downstairs and showed it to the workers and the manager. They all just laughed at me. They offered me a small portion of fries as a "recompensa".

I wanted also to share a not so nice experience also in a Wendys in Guatemala, the once in Zone 13 to be expecific. I have heard about the incident discribed above from the locals, but I was hard to belive untill I went to the same restorant. My experience was less scary but still afected me. I went with some friends to grab a quick lunch and when I paid the bill that was for an amount of Q.71.75, I was actually charged Q771.75 almost a $100.00 for a burger, after that I was advised by a very rude Manager that "I would have to just wait, for the money to be returned", and that I need to go to bank and take care of it my self. Not only this mistake could have cost me a $100.00 but it will cost time and Money for me to fix an error that they at no point took responsability for. This was also with a poor customer service is a note of a horrible way to find that the Name Wendys may not be so high considered here.

Hopefully, he washed in a hand sink in the kitchen at least. Although he should have washed in the bathroom and then again when returning to duty.

Wendy’s terrible service!

On the afternoon of December 4th 2007 I made my usual stop to the Wendys Restaurant near my office to grab a Frosty and a salad. While waiting to hand the employee my money he and a co worker were saying very inappropriate things about me. "I would steal dose' glasses" isn't exactly a hospitable thing to say to a customer. As I was driving away and after having my quarter tossed at me, the one employee decided to yell "GAY BOB" as I was putting my car into DRIVE. I will never eat at wendys again. I have tried to email the corporate to complain and on the website it says that the complaints are down for maintenance. I tried calling the store and asking for the manager but the guy said he was the manager. I recognized the voice, how am I supposed to complain if the person who you are supposed to complain to was the one in question!

If anyone checks the wendys website and says it is up, please tell me. If nothing is done about this, I have no problem going to a lawyer with discrimination.

Thanks.

8/26/07 My husband and I came from a doctors appt. to get a simple meal to go at Wendy's. He orderded a hamburger with cheese and a coke. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich with no mayo and a salad. We also left our change for the clerk. When we arrived home my husbands coke was not there. We havn't eaten Wendy's for about 2yrs. We are not fast food people. I remember the spicy chicken sandwich to be much bigger with more spices. It tasted terrible. It had no taste. I ate the salad. My husband ate most of his burger which looked like mush to me. Well that evening his stomach ached. I had to give him pepto bismul and a heating pad. I got sick the next day. I had the runs and felt miserable. We vowed never to go to Wendy's again. What a change after 2yrs.

Wendy’s bug baked on my potato

I ordered a baked potato and some other food,I was eating it and when I turned the skin over there was a bug that had been roasted with the potato you could see the legs and the antennas. I showed the manager and he said he couldnt be sure if it was a bug. I asked him if he could be sure that it wasn't and he said no and then he gave me 1.20 to cover the cost . and that was it...I did not cause a scene in front of all the other customers, but I could have especially after the way I was treated. I dont think it should be taken lightly when a customer finds something so discusting in their food.

I had the same experience tonight in Ottawa Ontario Canada - ordered a baked potato at the drive through window and when I had eaten about half of it at home I saw that there were two "bug like" things on the bottom. Needless to say, I freaked out, threw up (I was so grossed out) and called the Wendy's to tell them. We're talking about 1-inch long, black-brown color, looks like antennae and legs, a head and a body. The shift supervisor told me that it could possibly be the potato "veins" that maybe weren't scrubbed off before the potato was packaged and sent to their store.

I'm going to show a public health inspector tomorrow just for my peace of mind. If it turns out to be a potato part, then it's not a huge deal (although, for good customer relations they should really make sure that those things are not going out looking like that). If it turns out to be two bugs - I'm going to freak out.

Ugh.
