Wells Fargo so many errors I don't know where to start... may lose the contract to sell my home because of these problems

To make a long story short, last year my husband lost his job. After blowing through our 401K savings to keep making our house payments, and with no new job in sight, we contacted WF about a loan restructure. At the time we applied and were granted initial approval, it was made clear to us that this program was only for those who were planning to stay in their homes, which at the time we were.

Between the verbal approval and the receipt of the loan modification documents (Sept '09), my husband was offered a new job in a different state, and we decided to sell our home and move. When we received the written documents, we returned them unsigned with a letter to the effect that we had now decided to sell our home, and were declining the restructuring. We continued to make our regular payments.

PROBLEM #1 - For the first 3 months after the above, Wells Fargo automatically withdrew our regular mortgage payment from our account, AND the modified payment amount. That's right, we're talking a $2500 mortgage payment AND a $1900 mortgage payment each month for 3 months. Talk about a hit to an already desperately thin wallet. It took my husband most of January '10 on the phone with WF on an almost full time basis to get this resolved and to get the duplicate payments deposited BACK into our checking account.

PROBLEM #2 - In the meantime we've sold our home. We are supposed to close on the sale 3/10/10. Come to find out that WF has, since our January payment, been holding our monthly payments in a "suspense" account instead of posting them to our loan (because we didn't return the loan modification docs back in September - which, you may recall, we DID). When asked to move the money out of suspense and post it to the loan, they have stated they can't do that because it is in the loan modification program. The customer service person then asks if we want the loan removed from the program. Once this happens, which we are told will take about 72 hrs, then the suspended funds can be applied. What the minimum wage call center person fails to acknowledge (or anyone else up the chain of command), is that WE HAVE requested the loan be taken out of the loan mod/loss mitigation program... in September, December, January, and February of this year! As of now, the loan payoff is an artificially inflated number (by over $5K - the funds in "suspense"), we don't have the extra $5K to bring to the closing table, and so we may lose the contract on the house because of this. I have been working w/various people in various departments at WF to get this resolved since Feb 10th, and as of today, 5 days before closing, it still isn't resolved.

To make matters worse, every time I call in (because God knows you can't actually go down to a local branch and get any help), I speak to a different person, get put through the automated phone wringer, the people I speak to refuse to provide me with a last name or direct phone line, refuse to transfer me to supervisors who could facilitate resolution of this issue, and in general jerk me around.

Loss Mitigation...HA HA HA. If they wanted to mitigate their losses on this property, they would get off their ###, post the "suspended" funds, and give the escrow company an accurate payoff amount so we could close the sale. At this point, the contract is enough to pay the loan off in full, they aren't even getting shorted any. If we have to go back on the market, we will have to do so at a reduced price, as a short sell, and that could possibly end up costing WF tens of thousands; my guess would be in the $50 - $100K range. Loss Mitigation my fanny!

I have been run around the block more times than a $3 [censored], may lose the contract for the sale of my home, and have already had to delay the start of my new job (the pay from which I need to take care of my bills, like, you know, my mortgage) to deal with this problem.

I will NEVER bank with WF in ANY CAPACITY once this is all resolved, and if we do lose the contract for the sale of the house, I am considering speaking with an attorney to see if there is legal action we can take here.

I too have had so many errors with Wells Fargo, I don't know where to start. Thank you for you comments. This has been my experience with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage as well. The extreme lack of customer services is costing me thousands of dollars. The phone bank system and never being able to speak with the same person does not wor. The promoises to notify a manager and have them call back with in 48 hours has not happened one time! I have never received a return call from a manager as promised. The errors in processing the loan modification nearly cost me my home. Wells Fargo Home Mortgage continued forclosure action, including sending my home to auction, shile at the same time informing my there was no forclosure action and somtimes telling me there was a foreclosure, but it was suspended. In the meantime I received many notices on a weekly basis annoucing the sale date of my home at auction. I called and called the customer services number. I was told time and time again not to worry, they wouldn't sell my house. Yet the notices continued and no one ever called me back! Less than one week prior to the auction, I received a phone call from the man who had prepared the modification agreement five months prior. He said he had made a mistake and the modification was not valid. I was greatful for the information and excited that I might get some help. Instead he informed me that he could not stop the sale of my home, but he would postpone it one month. Please know that was making my house payments. I contacted many attorneys. They all informed me that although I had a case o wrongful forclosure, the least expensive and quickest way to stop the sale of the home was to file chapter 13. I had to borrow money from my parents to file the chapter 13 to stop the home from being sold. I attempted to seek help from Wells Fargo Customer for 5 months prior to to filing. Now they are charging me for their attorny fees, along with other explainable fees. I don't know how to make the nightmare stop!

Wells Fargo loan motification

I have filed complaints with Wells Fargo, BBB and Attorney General's office, and to date have not received a response. My loan Modification was processed incorrectly. Wells Fargo is treating me like I should be grateful for any assistance and refuses to accept the proof I have of making every payment as per the Loan Modification Trial Period Contract, and after receiving the final Loan Modification Contracts. They have obsorbed one of my payments and refused to make the adjustment necessary to reflect my account in Current Status as it should be. If this is not resolved by March 15th I am filing a Breach of Contract Suit. Their lack of customer service and incompetence is discouraging and very unprofessional. The stress they are causing is affecting my way of life, and I will not continue to accept payment histories as thier resolution, when even their payment histories account for each and everyone of my payments!

Wells Fargo home loan modification

Wells Fargo has no intention of helping homeowner's with loan modifications, refinancing or anything to do with a home purchased at a subprime rate. We have tried for a year and a half to work with them. I have tried 3 times to refinance with them without success. I tried for a loan modification and they lost my information not once but twice. They finally sent me a loan modification after 6 months that was 100.00 less after suffering a loss of 40, 000 a year in income. They offered another subprime on first mortgage and 10.5% fixed on second mortgage. This at a time when mortgage rates were 4-6%. The Wells Fargo mortgage officer has conveniently left the area so she is of no help. She basically promised us that after 2 years in a subprime rate we would easily qualify for a fixed rate. We made payments religiously and were never late until illness struck. We were denied everything, including short sale and deed in leui. Now we are in foreclosure. If Wells Fargo would have worked with us and given us a decent fixed rate we would have easily been able to make our house payment. The US Government really needs to step in and review actually who was helped with the stimulus money because I believe very few people have benefited and Wells Fargo is responsible for a large number of homeowner's being displaced and causing the real estate market to be overrun with foreclosed homes.

Government needs to step in and take control as Banks including Wells Fargo are just greedy evil companies that will take anything and everything from a hard working citizen. They take the Owning Your Own Home to a a different level and crushing the American Dream.

Wells Fargo unfair business practices

Wells Fargo repossessed our vehicle after we have paid SIX years on the vehicle after they forced a payment through my checking account before they were authorized and bounced several of my checks, then began running it through 2-3 times per week, causing one fee after another without asking me and this happened on a weekly basis. Then I tried to tell them I had so much money taken because of this, this made me late on my payment and then they repossessed my car and now are trying to charge me to get my personal items out of my vehicle. I was not given my tag either. They took the car so far off that myself and my husband are going to have to take off from work to go 2.5 hours one way to get the personal items. They refused to let me pay the late payment and late fees to get the car. They knew we were almost paid off.

To Whom It May Concern:

I have been as wells Fargo customer for a while. The reason I am joining with them because they have a direct deposit which can deposit my paycheck into bank account. In the beginning of June 2007, I have a cash rotation issue due to my car broke down. I applied 2 short term online $350each from usflashcash.com and payday-loan-yes.com. On an electronic signature online I select very clearly, I got paid twice a month a 5th & 20th. First of all they both charge me before due day, a well Fargo charge me $34 X 2pcs over draft fee on both items return fee. A day after will continue charge me $5 until I paid off over draft fee. I am in threat on both way if loans company keep trying recharge my checking account again a over draft keep adding more and more. To stop doing that I email to a loans company and called they left a message but no reply. I called wells Fargo wait for 20 minutes on a phone and speak to a human being, I request put a hold on both loans company if they ever try to charge on my account again but a customer service said "he won't able to stop it. I spoke to a manager name Kathy Sprague; she said "I have to deal a loans company not with well Fargo ". She won't able to help me either. Two days later a loan company was hit on my account $90 principal fee plus $15 return fee for 2 days earlier.

I had to suffer another 68 dollars again for return fee. , I agree that people should try not to overdraw their account, however...we are all human and it unfortunately happens.

An overdraft fee has been threading me for this two months, I couldn't sleep well because thinking about a hassle of being paid over draft fee to Wells Fargo. I woke up early at 3:00 AM on August 07 2007 and get online check on my account statement. A loan company is in pending charge me $90.00 which would might cause insufficient funding over draft. I drove me car immediately to wells Fargo ATM machine deposit $100 dollars in cash to prevent any over draft fee might cause but they still charge me any way. Okay. I AGREE that I should be billed a ONE TIME $34 fee, unfortunately happens. With that said...Wells Fargo rips off consumers by submitting the debits on our accounts OUT OF SEQUENCE! For example I had an available balance of $77.00 balance in my checking account on August 04 2007... I make two small purchases by a debit card. One was $6.55 and the order was $11.40 on august 04 2007 and both debit on my account after that would leave me a balance of $59.05. I called them they said Saturday and Sunday is not a business days. They go by Monday charge fee and reverse the other two small purchases on Saturday end up with charge me 3 over fee again. It is very hard to get out of debt at this point, while I have wells Fargo giving me many different fees, I think a federal should put a limitation on how much fees they can do in a month. I have been paid 32 over draft fee X $34 each $1088.00 plus 7time $5.00 continue return item fee since June 2007 to now. A whole month of my hard working salary was ripped off by well Fargo, I became wells fargo slave they ripped me $1123.00 dollars in total since last month.

THEY CONSTANTLY DO THIS! THIS IS NOT FAIR BUSINESS PRACTICE!

Best regards,
Johnny

They did the same thing to us---knowingly repo'ed my truck telling me I had been late 27 out of 36 times (lie) I had been an excellent customer until january 2010 when I had emergency surgery, could not work for 6 weeks and husband was laid off. I asked for one of the 3 passes to skip a payment that was part of the loan and they said no, it was not meant to be used when you were down and out.

so we paid each payment, albeit late-not more than 30 days, but paid. I hear a noise in my backyard, and they were repossessing it at 10:30 at night ran over my neighbors lawn and would not listen to anything I had to say. I can prove, through my bank statements, that Wells Fargo was paid each payment and when (and not late) but now that they have repossessed my truck, they do not care--they flat out told me too bad, they have my truck and if I want it back I have to pay a supposed missing payment (even though I can show it was paid) and over $500 in lates that just appeared on my account which again, we have not been late 27 times and then they are requiring me to pay 3 months in advance plus the repo and storage fees. I only have 16 months to pay on this truck.

Wells Fargo was not my choice, I had my loan with Wachovia, which was all fine and easier, but in March/April of 2010 Wells Fargo took over (and coincidentally is the month of the supposed missing payment).

they do nothing and do not care about any customers they have. they are not interested in helping anyone or actually doing their jobs, and they are all liars trained to be liars you get a different story every time you call and they never put their notes anything that is what you say. Liars and cheaters.

It sounds like Johnny has a problem with Wells Fargo. He also has a problem with the english language. His mistakes as regards plural nad singular and spelling make it very distracting to understand his problem with Wells Fargo. If this person can not ot will not give the correct name of Wells Fargo, then he does seem very credible.

Wells Fargo customer service is horrible

I spoke to 3 or 4 Wells Fargo representative throughout this ordeal. All of them sans a Lee from Minneapolis(?) was not only unhelpful but seemed gleeful that I was getting screwed over. Anyways I never got the name of this guy but this is the best example of Wells Fargo customer service:

As I tried to get my questions answered, the Wells Fargo employee (we'll call him Mr. Idiot) hung-up the phone on me as I tried to get information to dispute a claim; Literally said Good Bye and hung up before all my questions were answered.

To be fair, that was probably the best treatment I had the entire conversation. The Mr. Idiot spoke to me like I had down syndrome and proceeded to repeat everything I just said explained to him as if he were explaining the best course of action that I should embark on (as if I'm ###ed). For example:

I say: I need to know the date I closed my checking account. I need that date so that I can find the check I used to pay off my savings account. (notice that one is a checking account and the other is a savings account)

Mr. Idiot (and I paraphrase): You should get a copy of the check to prove you already payed off your savings account and present it to our bank.

Well thank you Captain Obvious.

Being the extremely intelligent man that I am, I ask him for the date that I closed the checking account (again) and he informs me he can't provide me with the information because it isn't related to my savings account; and since I am not longer a Wells Fargo Customer, Wells Fargo will "no longer service me." Not only will he not provide me with the information that I need, but apparently I can't go to a branch to get that information.

So here's the situation I'm in: Wells Fargo claims I owe them money. They won't provide me with the information to prove to them that I don't owe them money. To top it off they've forwarded everything to a collection agency which is threatening to put a ding on my credit scores if I don't pay up. Gotta say, I'm the luckiest guy on the planet. Thanks Wells Fargo, you guys are not criminal at all.

And now for a rant.
Finally to the people who work at Wells Fargo. I know everybody has to put food on the table and everything but how do you rationalize your jobs. You throw people out of their houses so that you can get that 5 million dollar bonus. Is the 12 million dollar salary such pittance these days? (especially since some 12% of Americans don't have a job) What about the people who listen to their corporate bosses and gleefully help steal from other people's savings? Are you so numb that you can't empathize with the anxiety you cause in other people when you're condescending to them? The anxiety that you put me through is not something I would wish on anyone. In any case, F*** you! May I never hear from you again.

I am looking for a board and site to document my dissatisfaction with Wells Fargo
Dealer Services (auto loans). Of the dozens of bills I pay every month, there's get continually screwed up, and when I call to fix, I get arrogance and attitudes. I will never do business with Wells Fargo again in any capacity, and I will see to it that others avoid business relationships with Wells Fargo Dealer Services.

I can just about bet you money this guys name was Robert. I had the same experience with this guy on the phone about 2 weeks ago. I cant tell you exactly what i would call him on this page, but i will tell you that he gets off on being rude, uncooperative, inconsiderate, and conveniently unaware of anything to do with your account. I explained to "Robert" we couldn't afford our mortgage payment. His exact words to me were... "what do you want from me", "what do you want me to do", and then had nerve enough to laugh at me while i cried and ask what we could do to save our home. These people are blood thirty thieves. They do not care about what happens to you or your home, they are more worried about home much money they can make off of your home after foreclosure.

Wells Fargo wells fargo lost my $4,000 check

I called a Wells Fargo Customer representative and asked, "If I mail you a check in British pounds, will you be able to deposit that check into my Wells Fargo checking account in USD?
The representative said, "Wait, let me ask..." and she returned and said, "Yes."
So I mailed them a check with the amount 2, 100 British pounds worth about $4, 000 USD at the time.
The check was never cashed and was never returned to me.
When I called to inquire, every time I was asked to call back in a couple of weeks, until one day they said our policy is to return the checks we cannot cash. When I asked the organization that issued the check, they said their records show it was never cashed and their bank advised them to not issue another one until the check is returned.
One year later and the check has not been returned to me nor to the original issuer of the check.
This is Wells Fargo for you. I have emptied my checking amount and do not intent to do business with them anymore.
They lost my $4, 000 USD.

I was in England at the time and there are no Wells Fargo branches here.
I had confirmed over the phone the address to send the check to and whether they accept checks written in British pounds.
Later over the phone, they confirmed receipt of the check but did not explain why the check was not deposited.
The issuing organization said until we do not know the whereabouts of the check, we cannot issue another one.
I hope this answers your questions, otherwise reply again.

I have in the past mailed checks to Bank of America and TD Bank (Canada) and had no problems with them.

someone took out 14 thousand dollars from my escrow account. I called and put a stop-payment on the check. Now the money is missing and Wells Fargo can't provide me with a copy of the check or tell me where and if the check was deposited or anything. HOW IS A MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR COMPANY NOT ABLE TO TRACK A FRIGGIN CHECK?!?!?!

My mother is going through a similar situation. She received a letter from Wells Fargo saying that they mailed a check to her job in 2006, but she never received the check. The letter she received told her that the check came back to the company and that they would send her another check all she had to do was to check the yes box that she was entitled to the check. It's been almost two months and she still hasn't gotten the check. Everytime she calls the reps are telling her that she is entitled to the money because it is hers, but still no check yet. On the letter is the number of the check they had first issued her, which she never got. How can my mother be sure that they are not trying to get over on her? Do she need to get a lawyer or just report Wells Fargo to the Better Business Bureau?

Did Wells Fargo say they returned the check to you since they had received it to start with? Maybe it got lost in the mail. Maybe you should try telling that to the company who issued you the check (have they not heard of a stop payment?!). This does not sound like Wells Fargo's fault directly.

Who's to blame!

How do you know it was Wells Fargo who lost your check? Why didn't you get the check re-issued? Why would you mail in a $4, 000 deposit in the first place? Seems funny to mail in a check when there are branches and ATM almost everywhere.

Wells Fargo insurance

Wells Fargo bought my mortgage and have been trying to sell me insurance since they did. I have a homeowners and a flood insurance policy with State Farm. They gave me a excuse that my homeowners and flood policy had to be the extact same amounts. Because my Flood insurance was $2000 different they were nice enough to add a $700 flood insurace policy that I didn't need. I lowered my home owners to the same as my flood insurace so they change the 4 days that were at different amounts to were I owed $24.00. This money was sent to a insurance company that they own. They took the money out of my escrow account to pay themselves. If you have a choice stay away from this company. If they have done something similar to you contact the BBB and the Attroney General of your state and file complaints. Something needs to be done to companies that feel they can do what they want and not be held accountable. I have sent letters to my resepentatives asking that they look into the Wells Fargo. I have ask they they go homeownwers protection from preditary companies such as Wells Fargo. The company moto is they have been in business for 150 years should be we have been stealing for 150 years.

Wells Fargo cobra insurance cancelled/ discrimination

I was employed by Wachovia Mortgage FSB in the San Antonio Texas Financial Call Center until Dec 2008 when I was laid off with approximately 1500 other employees. I went on Cobra insurance through Wachovia during 2009. In October 2010 Wells Fargo who bought Wachovia was now handling the employee benefits, ie Cobra Insurance. I made my selections for Cobra insurance for 2010, which will run out in June 2010. I have the conformation letter of my Cobra insurance selections from Wells Fargo in November 2009. All along I have been making my Cobra insurance payments via ETF. I had to switch insurance plans for 2010 and selected one of the plans that Wells Fargo offered. I have made my Jan and Feb Cobra payments. Now Wells Fargo has informed me they have canceled my Cobra insurance, has sent me two different letters saying they have reinstated my coverage with plans that I have not selected, and sent me a check back for $1400 with the note return of premiums. The service center also tells me I have a $900 credit. I have opened a claim with the WF Cobra service center on Feb 11, 2010. To date I have not received any assistance from them in clearing up this matter. I have called the 800 number many times, can never get to a supervisor or manager. The people in the call center cannot /will not tell me what is going on. I even got a Manager on the phone from the Human Resources Dept on a conference call with the Cobra Insurance center, she could not get another manager or supervisor on the phone either. I called Wells Fargo Excecutive office for Jack Stumpf the CEO of Wells Fargo. They could not help me and could not tell me what to do except to call back the Cobra service center. If you schedule a call to have a manager or supervisor call you back, they make one attempt. If you miss the call you have to request a call all over again and wait... I have finally called the US Department of Labor to file a complaint against Wells Fargo. The Labor department is waiting on a call from Wells Fargo. The bottom line is until the US Department of Labor hears back from Wells Fargo, I and my family have no insurance coverage due to Wells Fargo' incompetence! I have just found a new job after a years search. As soon as I can get insurance coverage with my new employer ( 90 day waiting period) I will be done with Wachovia/ Wells Fargo! I have been in the customer service industry for over 30 yeras and have never seen a company handle a complaint so poorly! IWILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH ANY WELLS FARGO COMPANY OR ACCEPT A CHECK DRAWN ON A WELLS FARGO BANK OR WELLS FARGO COMPANY. IN MY OPINION THEY ARE CROOKS AND ARE DISCRIMINATORY TOWARDS FORMER EMPLOYEES!

Wells Fargo payoff

I've had my car loan through WellsFargo since 2008. I decided to pay my car off early by 2 years. So I had the money in my bank account and decided just to send the check via Billpay. I first called twice to see what address I had to mail the payoff to. Then I called and got the exact payoff and send the check out via billpay that day. So, I havent heard anything. I called Wellsfargo and told them the sitaution the guy said to make sure the check acutally went out and maybe it was something on my banks side. I called my bank and they said the check had been mailed out 2/12 and that WellsFargo should have rec. the check in 5 business days which was thur. I called them again today 2/22 and nothing they have not rec. the check. The lady on the phone was saying that maybe I mailed to the wrong P.O. Box. I told her I called twice and 2 reps said that was the correct address and now your saying something different. She was like I dont know why they told you that and your check probably arrived to that Box but they had to send it to the right Box. Then I asked her about interest because I was told that if they payment was not rec. by the 2/22 that they would add interest. The lady was like yes if we dont get the check today we are going to add the interest, and it doesnt matter when the check was mailed it matters when we get it in hand. So, I told her I know how sometimes places hold onto the checks to charge you interest and late fees (chase-I cancelled the Credit Card after this happen) She got defensive and was like what do you mean by that. I said you know what I mean. I know for a fact they have the check in hand and they are doing nothing to process it. Come tomorrow I bet I check they will have the check processed. All this to charge me interest come on you took bailout money that wasnt yours in the first place. What Rip-Offs.

Wells Fargo lease

So I leased a car in 2007 from Wells Fargo Auto Finance. I lost my job 2 mos. later in 10/07. I made ON TIME full payments to Wells Fargo Auto Finance through February 2009 despite being unemployed and only working now and again at 10% of my former wage given the economy, etc. To make is simple.. we were former large earners for years who were significantly hurt in the 2007 recession forward and I was only able to find temp and contract employment at 10-20% of my former earnings. Despite that, I made payments to Wells Fargo Auto Finance without a hitch for nearly 20 mos. Finally, by 2/2010 we were 30 days delinquent and unable to continue paying for the car that was LEASED based on my former employer's monthly car allowance. Basically, we were done and we'd exhausted all of our financial resources, family, friends, 401k, housing equity, etc to pay our bills including the lease. Flash forward. 2/10/2010, WFAF calls me, asks for 1 pmt by eom. I say I can't, I tell them I'm done, baked, can't afford it further. WFAF rep responds by attacking me for being a lame businessman, a bad husbad, bad father, etc telling me I should not have entered into the agreement in 2007 if I could not pay for it. I told her, I'm sorry, but I lost my job nearly 2 years ago and have paid you religously since then but have run out of options and money. I said, Please come pick up the car, let's work something out and settle. She told me no way, she wants $ or nothing. I told her again, please come to ____ address and TAKE the car. She responded saying, I want $__ money and I don't want the car. I responded telling her I'd already had a call in the last week from the Wells Fargo REPO department confirming my address, and told her I'm more than happy to set up a time to VOLUNTARILY surrender the car to them. She did not want to hear any of that and proceeded to YELL at me that I need to re-examine my financial options and come up with a payment. So.. basically, I want to and am willing to SURRENDER the car and strike a settlement on the remaining balance due, but THEY want no part of this? What do I do next? File BK 7? Quit taking calls? Drive the car till it dissapears one night? I'm confused. I've offered to give it up and settle up.. what else can a man do in my situation?

Wells Fargo loan modification fraud

After being laid off in 2008 I requested a loan modification with asc/wells fargo.

My first set of documentation (Financial statements) to begin the loan modification process was officially filed with wells fargo in april 2009. It is now several months later and after sending four hardship letters, three financial worksheets and two edd award statements they continue to request the same documentation.

Yesterday I received a message from a wells fargo agent [protected]) requesting that I give them a call. After returning the call this afternoon and speaking with yet another representative, who again could not help with the modification, but requested another financial statement. They refuse to allow me to directly contact a loan modification officer who can actually work with me to modify my loan.

It appears to be fraud, that the loan modification program is non-existent and asc and wells fargo is making a practice out of frustrating home owners like myself who are facing foreclosure.

We have been contacted since the Spring of 2009 about a loan modification for our home. We were told we were approved. Not true and this led us to fall behind in our mortgage which led to foreclosure proceedings. We have been contacted several times since then saying we qualify, but when it comes right down to it...we don't. Most of their calls seem to be ways for you to lose your home rather than keep it. For example today, I got a call from WFHM if I was interested in a trial period of reduced payments...however, the representative said, I would become delinquent on my mortgage and would be reported to the credit bureau. I asked, "Is this for real? This is supposed to help people...by becoming delinquent? People really take you up on this offer?" Mary Coffin, executive vice president for loan servicing at Wells Fargo, was quoted in the Sunday, May 2, 2010 of the Parade, "We really want to help people keep their homes." WF doesn't want to help. I don't know how she can live with herself or how WF can feel good about working for such a dishonest company. They have been cited for unethical banking practices and their really needs to be an internal investigation done. I am pursuing this further and am working to bring national attention to this fraudulent company.

My wife & I have had Nothing but horrible dealings with Wells Fargo. Fill this out, oh wait we didn't get Page 2, we fill out Page 2, send Fax it in...oh, we didn't Page 9...on & on & on. These people are a pain.
We, the American people, allowed "the" head guys to give them money to help US...the average person but do they help...No..! They run you ragged till you give up..! We decided to do a Short Sale which they placed a price of Twp Hundred Thousand which they held till we we're out of the Short Sale contract...then the Dirt Bags lowered the price Fifty Thousand & told us we no longer can do the Haffa program.

I have Nothing but contemp for these so called people. We have lost our Biz as well as our house all Thanks to Greed..! All I wanted to do was have a reasonable good life. Didn't need a 10, 000sqft home just happy with what we had...1500sqft & a nice backyard.
Does anyone know where we can go to possibly get some Help..?

I have been going through this same scenario since June of 2009. It began as a modification that I was told by a representative of the bank. I was told that I would greatly benefit from the new HAMP program. I began to send endless paperwork for 3 months straight. I then got a call congratulating me that I was accepted for a 3 month trial. I made these payments on time every time, had them automatically withdrawn from my personal account. After the 3 month trial was over, I called and spoke to a representative about what the status is on the modification. I was told at this time that I was still in review and to continue to pay the modified payment. This scenario went on calling and asking and being told to pay the lesser payment for 6 more months. After making a lesser payment for a total of 9 months, I receive a letter in the mail from Wells Fargo stating that i "NO LONGER QUALIFY". Nothing about my finances has changed and I questioned how I qualified for 9 months and all of a sudden I didnt. Of course I had no answer, was told by the representative that she is just that...' a representative'. When I requested to speak to someone that could answer this question, I was always disconnected. After this letter of disqualification, I also received a letter from Wells Fargo's foreclosure lawyer, stating that I owe the mortgage company over 10, 000.00. This is far from the truth. This is when I consulted the expertise of a lawyer to help me against these monsters. The lawyer was able to postpone the foreclosure for 2 months, but Wells Fargo would not budge on a modification. They did however offer me a modification, but they wanted to increase the years that I pay back to 30 years. I have been in my home for 15yrs now, I told the lawyer that I refuse to pay their fee's as I am having to pay for my own lawyer because of their predatory servicing. I was not able to avoid foreclosure, so my only choice to save my home was to file chapter 13 bankruptcy. I told my bankruptcy lawyer that I will pay back the amount owed due to difference of payment, however I WILL NOT pay their lawyer fee's due to something of their own fault. In the real world, we fix our own screwups. This is Wells Fargo's doings, I refuse to fix their screwup. My lawyer realizes that I am not about to budge either. I am still hounding Wells Fargo about my modification even though I have had to file bankruptcy because of their actions. I will not just up and walk away like they expect. Me and my lawyers are still working to get something done. This is clearly false forclosure and predatory lending servicing and something has to be done. This cannot be legal on any level.

Make your payments until you get it in writing, this is common sense people. You got behind in your payment because you did not make mortgage payment. That responsibility falls on no one but yourself. I am sick of hearing Americans complain when they do not fill the responsibilities they agreed to and then blame it on others, pathetic!

Three of the nation's largest mortgage servicers have halted foreclosures as scrutiny increases over whether they verify the required paperwork. Several other servicers have also been faulted for foreclosure affidavits that were signed without much authentication, but they have not yet halted foreclosures.

Bank of America and JPMorgan Chase have joined GMAC in halting foreclosures in those states. Together with Wells Fargo and Citigroup, these make up the nation’s top five mortgage servicers, with a 71 percent market share.

Columbus Legal Aid attorney Tamara Parker tells NBC 4 that banks that foreclose on properties without ownership of the promissory note create huge headaches to the real owner and the property owner.

"If the wrong person is filing a foreclosure action, that means the note has not been property transferred to them. They have no right to foreclose on that home. Someone else who actually is the rightful person to collect on that note and mortgage could come back and sue the person for the money, " explained Parker.

NBC 4 spoke to one Central Ohio woman who believes JPMorgan Chase improperly handled her paperwork. Chase has agreed to halt foreclosures on 50, 000 loans, but not those facing a sheriff's auction. The single mother falls in that category.

More than 30 House members from California are calling on federal regulators to investigate whether mortgage companies broke the law by using paperwork that may have contained errors.

The Democratic lawmakers, led by Rep. Zoe Lofgren and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, urged bank regulators and the Justice Department to probe whether mortgage companies violated any laws in handling foreclosures and borrowers' requests for loan assistance.

"It appears that we aren't dealing with isolated incidents and that a pattern of misconduct and obstruction is present, " Lofgren said Tuesday.

The lawmakers sent the letter to Attorney General Eric Holder, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke and John Walsh, acting comptroller of the currency

A Federal Reserve spokesman said the central bank will respond to the letter. Representatives for Holder and Walsh declined to comment.

The action represents the strongest push to date for federal regulators to intervene in a growing problem in the nation's foreclosure process. To date, state attorneys general have taken the lead on the issue.

Three banks have halted foreclosures in 23 states after evidence surfaced that their employees or outside lawyers signed documents without reading them or filed inaccurate paperwork. Numerous state and federal officials have been ramping up pressure on the mortgage industry over concerns about potential legal violations.

"I want to know how deep this problem goes and what safeguards are now in place to prevent unjustified rubber-stamp foreclosures from happening in the future, " Sen. Robert Menendez, D.-N.J., wrote Tuesday to the three major lenders that have halted thousands of foreclosures - JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America

Wells Fargo appears to be the next home lender that the Ohio Attorney General's office will be going after.

Richard Cordray has filed a lawsuit against lender GMAC to stop foreclosures, says Wells Fargo will is the next one in the crosshairs.

Attorney General Cordray says the lending institution may be guilty of breaking consumer protection laws, deception laws and even fraud.

Cordray says the Attorney General’s office has a deposition from a woman who worked for Wells Fargo in South Carolina who admits there were problems and was ordered to sign affidavits saying she submitted evidence and had no idea what she was signing.

Wells Fargo has acknowledged that it made mistakes in processing foreclosures and up to 5, 500 foreclosures may have been done illegally nationally.

Ohio --
A new federal study shows more than half of all empty homes in the country caused by foreclosures are in Ohio, Indiana and Michigan and Ohio leads the list.

In an effort to personalize the ongoing story of foreclosures, NBC 4 has followed Annette Capriati's foreclosure the last few weeks and her series of unfortunate events do not seem limited to just her.

Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordray is on the verge of filing a lawsuit against Wells Fargo, the company that held Capriati's mortgage, for making mistakes in foreclosure proceedings that have forced potentially thousands of people out of homes that they shouldn't have lost.

Cordray said he believes Wells Fargo may have broken consumer protection laws, deception laws, and committed fraud.

He said that under deposition, Wells Fargo employees have said they signed over foreclosure documents without having read them.

Capriati's case has an added element -- a form of salt in the wounds.

Last week, Capriati was forced out of her 5, 000 square-foot home, and this week, she moved into a 1, 900 square-foot rental.

In other words, she was approved to stay in the home from which she had just been forced.

To make matters worse, another family has already moved into the home.

"I got a letter from Wells Fargo, " says Capriatti, "showing me what my new payment plan was going to be on the modification plan I had been approved for."

In other words, she'll have to make payments on the home she was kicked out of for not making payments.

That amounts to $2, 100 per month.

Cordray said Capriati's situation doesn't surprise him in his dealings with Wells Fargo.

"These firms don't even know what's going on in their own shop, " said Cordray. "As Wells Fargo told us, they didn't have a problem. Now, we find that 55, 000 cases, they do have a problem. They're not getting the job done in terms of offering good customer service to anyone and it's a real problem and they're going to have to face up to it here in Ohio and across the country."

Foreclosures are skyrocketing in Central Ohio with Columbus leading the state with an increase of 91 percent from last year.

A lawsuit similar to the one Cordray filed against GMAC in October could slow them down.

As for Wells Fargo, NBC 4 sent them a list of questions last week and made repeated attempts to contact the company. The company has not responded.

Wells Fargo lousy service, can not solve simple problems

Even after threatening to close all 8 accounts and remove over 500, 000 dollars of funds on deposit Wachovia's service response was "uhhhh.. let me transfer you to {pick someone else}." After waiting 45 minutes on hold for the simpleton offering NOT to help's supervisor I finally decided to drive to Carolina and go postal on these idiots.. I'd bet that J.P. Morgan would have solved the problem in less than 10 minutes and kept the money.. after all.. THEIR stock is still in the 40 dollar range while Wells Fargo is spinning around the vortex of the great banking toilet in the floor.

Wells Fargo phone calls inregards to their monthly payment

In Oct of 2009 we recieved a statement for Wells Fargo. We were never notified that our mortgage was sold to them. When I called to find out what was going on I was advised that everything from our previous mortgage carried over to their company and that nothing would change, payment due date the 1st but we had until the 16th just like the last mortgage. The girl set me up online to make payments and view our statements. So then the phone calls started looking for our payment I was told that our payments were late, though on the statement it stated that after the 16th you make this payment. The representives calling were very RUDE over the phone. A month or so later after being with Wells Fargo they called me on a Sunday looking for the payment I told the girl that it would be paid by the 16th and stated that I have NEVER been late with any mortgage payments or any other bills. This representive stated to me "we did not ask you to come to our company" I was stunned at first and then I fired back at her that "first off we were never notified that are mortgage was being switched to your company so it is I that never asked to come to YOUR company". They call sometimes three times a day requesting a payment. I have our bills figured out every two weeks for our pay checks so depending how our bills fall I have to jocky bills around but they still get paid every month by the dead line. I have never had a company call me harrassing me for a payment before especially when it is truely not late and I am within the time frame of paying it. I feel really bad for people that do have trouble make payments. They were even sending emails stating that my payment was due even after I paid the bill and it was already posted to my checking. I have been with this company now for 4-5 months and I would not recommend anyone to take a mortage out through them. We are going to start looking to refinance our home though we do not want to just to get away from them. I could see if I was a month or two behind on our mortgage but when it get's paid every month and they still call hounding for the money right then and there is very poor service

I had the same thing happen to me. My mortgage was sold by Wachovia to Wells Fargo. My payment schedule is direct debit which didn't transfer with the sale and I was accused of non payment. After proving that I had been debited for that payment, my credit reported showed a late payment.

Wells Fargo cancellation of homeowner's policy

We had our homeowner's insurance policy cancelled as a result of non-payment by Wells Fargo Mortgage. The funds for this are a part of our regular monthly mortgage payment, and I assumed the insurance company had communicated with WF to let them know how often per year the payments were due, and that the bank escrow department had full knowledge of when to release the money. Boy howdy was I WRONG!

We got papers from the insurance company saying our policy was cancelled for non-payment by Wells Fargo. WF told us that they were under the impression that the policy had one annual payment, not two bi-annual payments. We had to get a NEW policy because of the escrow department's SCREW-UP.

And these people at the bank are supposed to be money management experts?!?! Why do I have to back-track and double-check that things are going as they should EVERY STEP OF THE WAY
!?

Wells Fargo ALSO informed us last October that our interest rate and thus our monthly payment would be dropping by $47. THIS OF COURSE never happened, and I intend to find out WHY.

Wells Fargo they just want to rip off people

I was approved for a visa card by wellsfargo bank. The way I was explained was that the visa card also could be used as a overdraft protection. Sounds great for someone like me who could use some help being more organized when it comes to finances, right? WRONG. I was encouraged by a wells fargo associate that I should take advantage of paying off high interest accounts using my visa since the interest rate was so reasonable. So I did. Next thing I know, my interest rate went up so much. Their explanation was that" I have a high balance" no s... they had just told me to use the to pay off my other credit cards off using the visa. Oh yes also I guess three years ago I was late paying my macy's account one time was another reason for wells fargo to raise my interest rate. Funny, Macy didn't. After they did all that, when I went to one of their branch, the teller tells me that my my outstanding status with them makes me eligible for for something special called PMA. Are you kidding me ? You just jacked up my interest rate for not being your ideal customer. They just want to rip off people like me because people with lots of money are smart enough not to bank with someone like wells fargo.

Wells Fargo unethical banking practices used against deployed service member

I am a deployed service member currently in Iraq. I have had problems with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage since I mobilized last July. First, they pre-approved me for a modification, but never sent me the paperwork!
When I called them from Iraq to ask about the modification, they told me that they had decided to give me a moratrium instead. They told me that the $4500 I was behind would all be due by the end of December!
I told them that I could not afford that. Although I continued to make full payments on a regular basis(sometimes even 2 payments a month), they would not correct my credit report. They finally sent another
modification last month, but I decided to bring the account with one large payment instead.Although I brought
the account current last month, they decided to close the account and send it to collections!
When I told them about my credit report, they denied that they it!
For anyone who is a service member and has a loan with this company, please do not trust them, especially while you are mobilized!

Wells Fargo simple paperwork takes a full month... and then some!

I was in an accident on 01/12/2010 (for the record, I was riding shotgun while someone else was driving. However, the car and the insurance are all under my name), and although the damage was repairable, since the car was that old, the insurance company thought it was cost effective to just deem the car a total loss. Fine. Whatever. I needed a new car anyway, according to all of my friends. Besides, I can use the extra money and the rest can be a down payment for a new car. It seems as if all of this was in the bag right? WRONG! This is where the headache really began.

After a week of not hearing back from my insurance company regarding my reimbursement, I took the initiative to contact them myself. To my surprise, the only hold up is Wells Fargo Auto Finance, as the insurance company needs a Letter of Guarentee from them first. I took the liberty to call Customer Service myself [protected]) and find out what is the hold up. After being transferred to numberous other departments, I finally got a hold of their Total Loss Department [protected]). Spoke with a somewhat helfpul representative who acknowledged that they received the request for my insurance company numberous times, and she also took the time to explain to me that she had no issues sending the letter to my insurance company, but they can't guarentee what they don't have, of which to my surprise, IT'S THE TITLE TO MY CAR! She then referred me back over to Customer Service and told me what to say so I don't get connected back to Total Loss again.

Called Customer Service, who referred me back to the branch that I got the loan from (Decatur/Rochelle). Called that branch [protected]‎), and to my surprise yet again, they are saying that they no longer handle any car loans whatsoever and that I should contact another branch (Stephanie/215). So I called that branch [protected]), who then referred me BACK TO CUSTOMER SERVICE!

At this point, I thought I was really close in losing my cool, but I was good. I called Customer Service again and on 01/28/2010, a request was sent out to perfect the title of my car. The gal I spoke with was kind, and told me it may take 3-5 business days. I didn't like waiting, but what other choice do I have? So I waited. I called Customer Service on 02/02/2010, of which this particular representative corrected the other rep and said that no, it would not take 3-5 business days, but rather 10 BUSINESS DAYS!

I did the only thing I knew, which was to send something to Wells Fargo Corporate (Mailing address: Customer Service F4008–080 800 Walnut Des Moines, IA 50309 USA, fax number: [protected], also provided by Customer Service). That was sent on 02/03/2010. I gave them until Tuesday, 02/09/2010 to reply to me with a legitimate update and what needs to be done to get this thing over with. Did I get a reply back? NO!

So I called them (again at Customer Service) yesterday, who states that the request has been referred back to the branch that did my paperwork... which was confusing because I thought they said they don't do loans anymore...? I called the branch again today, and this time another rep gave me a DIFFERENT BRANCH TO CALL (Tropican/Hualapai). Called that branch [protected]), and guess what?! THEY DON'T DO TITLE PERFECTIONS! And guess who they referred me back to again? That is right... CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Basically, I have come to the following conclusions:
1) The right hand does not seem to know what the left is doing... and there seems to be absolutely NO COMMUNICATIONS between the branches and their main Customer Service center. I really truly believe that if there was some level of communication, this process wouldn't be this long and I would have had my check right about now.
2) NO ONE SEEMS TO TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY ABOUT THIS! According to one of the CSR's that I spoke with, they knew about the title not being perfected around November/December of 2009! WHY WAS I NOT TOLD ABOUT THIS? Or at least the co-owner of the car, who is a relative of mine. Yet, when we created this account/loan, we made sure that I was the primary contact, seeing as I am paying on the car, I'm the one utilizing the car, and the car is garaged at my place of residence.
3) I WON'T RECOMMEND ANYONE TO DO ANY BUSINESS WITH WELLS FARGO! Not even my worst enemies!

I have already lodged a complaint against Wells Fargo to the BBB and FDIC. I may involve my lawyer in this, if that is what it will take for them to move their back sides. It should not take this long to perfect some paperwork... seriously... and I have lost all patience with Wells Fargo.

And what makes you think I'm blaming Wells Fargo for my accident? The accident was exactly that: an accident. It happens. Granted, it was one of the worst experiences of my life, but with the stress that Wells Fargo has put me through, that just kind of puts the "!" to the whole experience. That's all.

Yeah... I think you do work for Wells Fargo, or else you wouldn't be defending them. So which one are you? The one that laughed at me when I said I was in an accident or the one that tried to tell me off right before I lost all of my cool and was in the receiving end of my tongue lashing?

UPDATE:

I just got off the phone with Wells Fargo Customer Service. I stand corrected. They did not know about this since December of 2009... THEY KNEW ABOUT THIS SINCE DECEMBER OF 2008!

Not only that, they were searching for the title at the wrong state! The co-owner of the car (my family) lives in California, yet when we did our paperworks, we made it C-R-Y-S-T-A-L clear that the car will be in my possession in Nevada... obviously no one really bothered listening to us!

**sigh** This is becoming a HUGE nighttmare...

you do realize that wells fargo branches and wells fargo auto finance are two different companies right? they dont even really use the same systems, and thats not the companies fault, they have 1000's of branches and locations all across the united states, but hey maybe you can build a system that could communicate between that many people? sounds like you should stand your ground and not let them push you around, or on the other hand why are you handling it when your insurance should be handling it?

it was probably wells fargos fault you got into the accident too right?

I am a disabled person of working age. I received a large sum of back pay when I took my Social Security judge awarded me over $60, 000. Wells Fargo Investment Services demand I have a Wells Fargo Credit Card. I said "no thank you." One year later a card arrived in the mail with a limit of $8, 000. The interest rate was over 17%. I contacted Wells Fargo'...

Wells Fargo refinance nightmare

I refinanced with Wells Fargo last September under the Make your home affordable program. My mortgage was reduce by almost $280.oo a month. I was ecstatic. Unfortunately that was very short lived. Just last month I received a letter from them stating that due to my taxes going up they did an analysis on my loan and my payments were going to go up by $200.00. I was convinced this was an error because there was NO WAY my taxes went up that much ($2400 a year). After many conversations and speaking to about a dozen people and getting about as many different stories as to what happened, turns out that when they wrote up my refinance they only estimated my taxes to be $1500.00 a YEAR rather than $3200.00 a year and now I have to pay the difference . I was LIVID to think that such a mistake could happen and that nobody could give me a striaght answer. My savings is now only about $50 a month and I added an additional $7, 000 to my loan for closing costs which will take mover about 6 years to make up the difference. The only thing they will say to me is sorry and nothings else. I can't wait until the housing market gets better so I can refinance with another insitution because I am done with Wells Fargo

I bought a new car in 2011 through Wells Fargo. In 2012 my husband passed away and I was left with everythine to pay. I have never been late on my payments of $49832 which is a little steep...I recently tried to refinance the car and was turned down as my finances have drastically changed. Each time I called wells farge, I am told to fill out a auto loan form, each time I did, they denied me. My credit is not all that great but then it wasn't great when I bought the car...I am seriously thinking of letting them have the car back! They are rude and want all the money they can get and doesn't care at all about their clients. I am trying to pay my payments and a little help of lowering my car payment would be a blessing to me.

On April 21st and May 9th I posted comments on this site regarding problems with Wells Fargo. Since then I have written a number of letters to Wells Fargo and the Comptroller of the Currency and spoke with several, higher-level people with Wells Fargo. I have the names and addresses of the bank vice presidents if anyone wants to write letters. Wells Fargo's bank president is John G. Stumpf. His work address is: Wells Fargo Corporate Offices, 420 Montgomery St., San Francisco, CA 94104. His home address is 1090 Chestnut Ave., Apt.12, San Francisco, CA [protected].

For Wells Fargo it all comes down to taking your money and not honoring the interest rate that they promised. They refuse to refinance my mortgage that is already with them and they will not give me a refund of the $609 they took from me. Michael Salmon and Michael Dullea received their commisions as well as the title company and appraiser. Believe me, these people are liars and cheats and will wear you down. Wells Fargo does not have to answer to anyone. The Comptroller is a total joke and will just refer you back to the bank to resolve the issues. I am continuing to fight and may have a large number warning posters printed up and put on cars in their parking lot. For me, it's now a matter of principal, not money.
