Wells Fargo overdraft charges

I have a wells fargo complete advantage (Rm) checking & savings account. Completed an on-line transfer of $1000 from my savings to my checking account, since I wanted to cover a check I was writing & an on-line purchase at walmart. My printer was non-functional at the time so I could not print out a copy of the transaction with its corresponding confirmation number.

Much to my surprise the transaction never occurred. I went to the bank asking why I did not have automatic overdraft protection. They said it was never set up & I had to $35 for each incident for a total of $70. So where is the advantage of my disadvantage account ?

To make matters worse I asked to set up the overdraft protection to find it still charges me $10 per day for a service, to use my own money, and was free at my other banks!

Who is the government protecting, its people or its corrupt banking system ?

Good-bye wells fargo & screw your customer business ethics !

Wells Fargo - 401 k

I became unemployed in June of this year. After two weeks, I decided to cash in my 401K so that I would have money to live until I could find a job. I contacted Wells Fargo on July 13, 2010, instructed them to close my account and forward the money to me. (around $6, 000) They explained that it would take 2 business days for the transaction to be completed...

If you are looking for a loan, do not use Wells Fargo Auto. If you are behind on payments in any fashion, be forewarned of how you will be treated when you call in to make arangements. This is coming from a mild-mannered, very logical, patient person. As of today, my car payment is 5 days late. FIVE DAYS. I called in because this month, I need to pay it on the 27th - which is late, I realize. It's too much to type here, but please note, coming from a very sane and logical person - I was crying by the time I hung up (and I hung up on the woman.) I did not realize a call to let them know I will be a few weeks late this month would turn into someone yelling at me, talking down to me, taunting me, questioning my finances - with very harsh language and manner. It was shocking. It was unprofessional. I decided to let her keep talking and talking, because I figured at the end I could repeat myself "I HAVE NO MONEY I CAN PAY YOU ON 8-27" - nothing she was going to say can change the fact that I have no money. She was horrible, it was horrible. This sort of stuff has gone on throughout the duration of my loan, but was today was bad. REALLY BAD. Please dont use Wells Fargo Auto for your car loans. Its just not worth it.

MAC #S4015-011
I am having a problem with someone in this division. I know that I am behind in my payments. This indivisual is nasty and does not seem to want to listen. I talked to him today to let him know that I have mailed him a payment and half trying to bring my account up to date. With his nasty attitude he refuses to listen and made comments about my need for the car. With an attitude such as this you are going to loose more customers. I wanted to tell him that I was seeking other sources to pay this car off but he made me mad and I ended the confersation. He then immediately call back to speak to another person and gave a specific time. He and his attitude is the reason why my bank accout had to be closed. This he wanted to know but I didn't tell him.
In the past my family was customers of Wachovia but after this type of behavior and attitiude we will not use it.
This is the 2nd time that I e-mail your division( without MAC) idenification. The family member can't be reached that was called and does't have anything to do with payment. I have reached out to the person to try to bring my payment up to date but he has made up his mind. What can be done about this type of treatment

Wells Fargo fraud alert

Los Angeles county issued a $3500. exempt hold/lein order on my bank account. Result: $100. legal fee. The instructions issued included: Withhold any any all assets exceeding $3500. in value. Deposits in financial institutions, including IRA's, SEP's, rents and on and on. If these funds include any monies from Social Security or Supplemental Security Income Please contact us immediately. For the last several years the only deposits made to my bank account is the direct deposit by SS. There are 2/3 debits outstanding. The bank freezes my account, pays the outstanding debits, credits my account with $25. overdraft fees.

The legal department (finally contacted, call waiting 1st 38min, 2nd 52min, 3rd 35min) is busy and after their acknowledgement of error advised me to contact WFB consumer help line for reversal of late fees ($25.), they didn't have the authority for such services. The over draft fees are wrong, the legal fees, I'll have to assume (the gov'ts are in a hurry for monies). They are WRONG. Unfortunately the economy doesn't accomodate retired carpenters and has no handy work to augment my income.

Wells Fargo continue to refuse all offers to close escrow

8/3/10

To whom this concerns:

Wells Fargo has hired this company Pinnacle Financial to negotiate on their behalf. They fired them w/o informing us. Now we are ready to close escrow and their new company Enhanced Recovery Corporation is saying the amount of compensation is too low and there is no negotiating it. We had the payout increased by 65%, but they still refused it.
Wells Fargo has this collection company collecting for them. When we talk to Wells they say it is up to their collector (ERC) to accept the offer. When we talk to ERC they say it is Wells that has to accept the offer. This has been going on for over a month. We were suppose to close escrow the first week of July. Now its 8/3/10 and we don’t have agreement with Wells Fargo has yet.

Mean while the buyers are loosing their loan lock, and their lives are being held up. Our realtor is giving part of his commission toward some unpaid property taxes and the buyers are chipping in as well toward that. And that is because the bank would not pay those taxes.
We have invested over $275K (our savings and investment money) into this property and are losing every bit of it. For the past three years our financial situation has been devastated. Being realtors we have basically lost our job and been living off what ever little saving we had left and by selling our personal belongs. Loosing our home to short sale or foreclosure has been devastating for us. They claim to want to help save our home but when it really comes to help they refuse to. There are just messing with our lives.
Please kindly address this situation.
Please help!

Sincerely,
Greg & Rajkumarie Bechtol

Wells Fargo auto loan paid off, title not received

I got a loan on my car from Wells Fargo Financial. Three years after I finished paying it off, I still haven't received the title to the vehicle. They sent me a check because I overpaid on my last payment, so it's obviously paid off, but no title. I go into the DMV, they say I have to go the bank. I went to the bank twice and they finally sent me a document "Lien Satisfied / Title Holder Release" but they didn't sign it or notarize it. Their office is in Philadelphia, PA but they typed Philadelphia, CA on the form. What's up with these people?

I go into the DMV again, hoping it can be taken care of electronically. No, they told me I have to go back to the bank and get it signed and notarized. The only way to find out what I have to do next is to go into the DMV and wait for an hour to talk to someone. Now I have to go back to the bank for the third time and after that back to the DMV again (third time). Then, it will take two weeks for the title to be sent to me from Sacramento.

Is it really so unusual to finish paying off an auto loan? Why is this so hard?

This bank deserves to fail. I sure hope my tax dollars didn't contribute to a bailout for Wells Fargo. They suck.

Wells Fargo crooked business pratices

The government needs to put a clamp on these #! They are screwing their customers left and right!
I am convinced that their software is specifically written to delay deposits, put larger debits first, etc all in order to nail you with overdraft fees, and these fees are outrageous! This is a crime! I'll be running low, I check my account several times daily, and i'll deposit cash, checks whatever, and suddenly, they post all the debits first, starting with the largest, and then post my deposit, so they can # me over!

Apparently i'm not the only one, I have seen many many hundreds of complaints from others.

Stealth Pilot, You're an idiot. I DO deposit first. The bank seems to hold deposits when it benefits them, apply the LARGEST debit (no matter the order in which it was made), first, guaranteeing that they will beed my for every penny when they get the small transactions for a couple of dollars, and charge $35.00 EACH!

It's ###ing THEFT.

And OBVIOUSLY I'm not the only one because there are thousands of complaints about this, litigation being considered, and the federal government is looking into it as well.

It's funny, because when I didn't use a bank, I had no problem, when I used strictly PayPal, I had no problem, my Morgan Stanley account never has issues like this, it's only WELLS ###ING FARGO.

I'm currently going through the same issue with them. I had money in my account and now I'm in the negative even though I haven't made a purchase in three days. I called and they said it was from a purchase four days ago even though the purchase was less than what I had in my account. I argued my case and they gave me the run around. Then they tried to get me to sign up for a credit card lol. I'll be switching banks today on my lunch break. This is the second time this has happened and I'm done with wells Fargo and bank of America. I'll be trying the delta credit union out.

Wells Fargo disqualification ploy for a mortgage modification

make a long story short..Wells Fargo Financial has disqualified me from mortgage modification..their reps tell me I've another home mortgage with Wells Fargo Mortgage..which I don't..a Capital One Card..which I don't..an Bank America Card..which I don't..and none of these folks..(and several others I've run down)..know me..my SS #..or can see any of the info Wells Fargo Financial sees..my credit has been frozen for sometime now..This is a ploy to discourage, delay and disqualify me from them having to modify my loan.I owe twice as much as my home is now worth.I have filed a complaint with the BBB..what else can I do? I want to do the right thing. It seems they want me to walk away from this home.

Understand- we have similar problem. Wells Fargo gave us loan a few years on our house telling us to take the higher interest and let our home and credit values increase. In two to three years we would be able to get another loan. We just paid $450 (that we really didn't have) to get a new appraisal and now are told that our home is wroth about $30, 000 less than it was on our first loan. We pay about $1000 on just interest and only about $200 on the principal and have been paying fro almost 4 years...I HATE WELLS FARGO and would NEVER recommend them to anyone.

Wells Fargo customer abuse

I went to the Wells Fargo at Greenwood Village for a very, very small concern. It seems after at least 20 years, (30 if you count the take over acquisitions in the 80s and 90s); WF put a $3.50 charge on my account for "monthly check image fee". When I called the 1-800 customer service line to remove the charge, the agent said it would be only for one time and then proceeded to try and up-sell me to a different product as the ONLY way to permanently remove the fee. He said I had to go to a physical bank to make the changes.

I arrived at the Greenwood Village Wells Fargo around 4:45 pm (bank closes at 6pm). After standing in the lobby area near the banker cubicles, a tall slender man said without any friendliness or smile, "Do you need help with something." I proceeded to explain to him what I was needed. A couple of minutes went by, and a couple of bankers that were talking in a cubicle ended their conversation. Brian, a banker, had me sit down in his cube. He asked for my debit card, assuming I had one, and I said I don't have one. He then asked for my ID. I presented him with my ID, and put it away after he had a look. Then Brian asked me my name and how to spell it. This stuck me as odd, as he just looked at my ID. I obliged the information twice, spelled my last name twice before he could type it correctly in the computer.

Once he had the account up, he said, "It looks like there are several. Are you on (and he named an address) and it was nothing familiar.

I was a victim of Identity theft 10 years ago, so I expressed, "Absolutely not, there is not more than one of me in the state of Colorado as far as I know". (My name isn't the most common - "

The he said, "Are you on "Street A?""

I said, "No, that is my mother."

He said, Oh... that’s a Brook."

I said, no, there is no Brook, at that address.

He said, "Right, and you are on "street A"."

I said, no "I'm on "street B". Do you show me on the "street B?"

He said, "No, you are on "street A."

-- I think you get the picture.

I, the customer, the one loaning money to the bank, is sitting in front of a banker that is very confused and is INSISTING that I live on Street A .

So I tell him that is the wrong information, and he proceeds to get defensive and say things like "Well, that’s not what it says!"

I frankly asked him, "Is there a banker or manager that can maybe help me and knows their way around the computer?"

At that point he shut down the window on the computer and said, "If you don't want me to help you, then I won't." and stormed off to locate a manager.

I can definitely see how his ego was hurt by my comment, but the truth is, he definitely didn't seem to know what he was doing. As I mentioned above, he looked at my ID, but didn't read it and was very confused about the information and who was who on his screen.

Brian went to get a manager. I followed him. The manager he spoke with was too busy to deal with me, so Brian went off to find another manager. I followed him to Crystal's corner office and waited outside. Crystal came out with a scowl on her face and begrudgingly introduced herself. I explained what had happened. She wanted to dismiss my concern (opinion) and just get done what I came in for. In my opinion, that is one way to alienate a customer as a person, and just see them as an account number.

She then rushed over to a terminal in another cubical, got my information and kept my ID out for verification of account information (as I believe is required under Wells Fargo Rules). She then proceeded to say things like, "Lets me show you why Brian was telling you lived on Street A."

At this point what I'm observing, is a fellow employee being more concerned about defending another employee than taking care of a customer.

Crystal then began to blame me for not changing my information somewhere along the way.

Really? In the past 30 years, I've lived at three different address and consistently updated information as directed by whatever Wells Fargo employee was helping me. Seems to me, it was the Wells Fargo employees who were not updating the information correctly since I've never had "hands on" access to a WF computer.

An argument then ensued as to "who's fault the unchanged address was" ---Really? I came in to get a $3.50 cent charge removed from my account, and I'm involved in a "professional" argument" about my address. Crystal then wanted to jump to getting done what I came in for, and I wanted to get my address corrected.

Crystal then began bargaining, and said "I will help you if you stop being condescending and undermining me."

I asked, "How am I being condescending and undermining you?"

She said, "You insulted one of MY bankers. You need to act like an adult." (Insulting, and as far as I could tell, Brian is an employee of WF, not of Crystal... it is not her bank.)

I was floored. I'm a 43 year old man, and I have a 24 year old girl telling me, I need to act like an adult."

I frankly said, "What did you just say? --And you're accusing me being condescending?"

At that juncture, Crystal said, you need to leave the bank now or I'm calling security and having you escorted out."

I said, "I will leave, but I want the name of your regional manager."

She said, "Leave now, or I'm calling security."

I said, " I said I would leave, just give me the name of or regional manager."

She said, "You can call our 1-800 number to get that information.

I proceeded to leave, totally floored at the treatment I had just received.

I said to Crystal on my way out, "You have a lot to learn in your youth about how to treat customers." To which she made a "whatever" gesture and comment. --About what I would expect from someone with little experience and lack of customer service skills, and someone who poses as THE bank manager.

In all my life I have never been treated so poorly in any business, especially a bank that is BORROWING money from me (and every other customer with an asset account) and LOANING it out at 10x its value to the bank's advantage.

Seems to me, Crystal and Brian have forgotten about where the bank's funds come from and are more concerned about proving their own young egos. I would never hire or work with employees who miss the big picture of what their jobs are about --- customer service, not customer threats and abusive harassment. FYI- I also later became aware that Crystal had portrayed herself to me as "the bank manager" when she is actually a "service manager."

CONVERSELY, when I went immediately to the E. Hampden Branch, I was greeted near the entrance with Angelique Flodstrom's SMILING FACE (nothing but scowls at Greenwood) and a cheery, "Hello! Can I help you with something today!"

Yes, I said. Angelique escorted me back to her desk and proceeded to take care of me quite professionally and efficently. I made Angelique aware of my problem with the other branch, and she was apologetic on their behalf, not defensive, as Crystal had been about Brian.

When Angelique had taken care of the business at hand, she then proceeded to try and find the regional manger's info for me. Instead, what I got was a personal visit by the branch manager, Robert Lopez. Robert expressed sincere concern of my overall experience at Greenwood and Crystal's threatening attitude and deception about her manager status.

I appreciate Robert and Angelique's true professionalism. They were actually able to remove the $3.50 charge that Crystal and Brian couldn't even get to because they were more concerned with their pride.

I definitely will be recommending the E. Hampden branch. As far as I'm concerned, Greenwood branch has been fired by not only myself, but also my family, friends, and anyone else who has been treated poorly by Brian and Crystal.

I frequent this branch on a weekly basis and have always been treated pleasantly. I have even dealt with a Brian (not sure if there is more than one) and he has always been polite and helpful. It seems that if you had just given your correct address, there wouldn't have been a problem. This story sounds rather ludicrous. Why would they go out of their way to treat you badly? Doesn't make much sense...

Your complaint is very thorough, however I am aware of this situation and I feel you have left out some very important parts. And that part is how you initially treated each individual you came into contact with. How would you respond if you were a 24 year old girl who is being told she is inferior and knows nothing because she is young. I would suggest giving people the benefit of the doubt. Customer service is very important, but also are your actions to those who work in the customer service field.

Wells Fargo customer non-service

My debit card was pre-authorized by Priceline three times in error (for an expensive international flight), tying up my entire bank account so that none of my funds would be available for several days. All it would have taken to resolve was for a Wells Fargo representative to make a phone call to Priceline to release the funds - they refused and were extremely condescending in the process. I am in the financial services industry and deal with consumer banks all the time - these types of calls are commonplace for many other banks. I have had my account with Wells Fargo for over 20 years, but was told that this type of service is only provided for merchant accounts (i.e. "we don't care about individual consumers").

Wells Fargo crooks and liars

my grandmother had a similar situation with wells fargo. She had to re mortgage the house a few years back since my grandfather had a stroke and was unable to work again. They owed less then 30 thousand on the home they had been paying there mortgage on time everymonth but when the payments were sent in they held them and took a month to a month in a half to post them to the account obviously accumulating late fees that shouldn't have been there. Then to make things even more fun, every month they paid with money orders since they began the mortgage they sent back 6 money orders with a letter stating that they would not be accepting any more personal checks from her. Glad to know they don't know the difference between money orders and personal checks. For the past 5 months they have been sending the money into what they call a suspense account and threatened to foreclosure and gave her less then a month to come up with 1900 dollars that she had already paid. these people are crooks and want nothing more but to take peoples homes when they owe so little on the house. Good luck trying to call one will tell you what you wanna hear then shortly after if you need to call back the next person doesnt have a clue what the previous had said then they end up ###ting you to the point of cursing them out and hanging up. These people are for one idiots. two obviously doing illegal things we had a friend of the family who is a lawyer look it over and say what there doing is punishable buy federal law. I suggested a reverse mortgage to my grandmother and we had gone and went through with it and things are fine now we had to do what it took to get a way from these idiotic ###s and will highly suggest for anyone considering to buy a new home or get any kind of anything with these people to turn and run. I suggest the only reason you call them is to tell them how much they are heartless jerk offs and that they should all have there homes and payments screwed with so they can feel the stress that so many people go through. If anyone knows of a class action suite against them please email me at [protected]@comcast.net id be happy to help them file against these ###

They say my escrow will be short by 5 dollars in November so they raised my house payment 30 dollars a month. They are crooks and theives. A rep lied to me in the fall and said if I'd send the 400. they said I was short at that time, that they wouldn't raise my payment. If we had a government worth 2 cents, something would be done about the crooked banks and wall street theives.

Wells Fargo poor service

We fell behind on our auto loan, and wells fargo repossesed our vehicle. We had to come up with $1, 900 to reinstate the loan, which was sent by moneygram to them on a Friday morning. We have to pay an additional $25 a day in storage fees. When the car was repossesed, I contacted them and have been working on this for over 5 days, they have their money, I don't have my car and I now owe $150 in storage fees. Because of an error in wells fargo sending the release fax to the wrong phone number, there will be another day of storage fees assesed. They showed absolutely no concern for their mistake, put no effort in to helping us get our car back in a timely manner, and were all around rude and difficult to work with. At one point an employee told me, "if I show you compassion, I have to show everyone compassion..." That statement basically sums up the service provided by wells fargo. I urge anyone of you reading this that may have a vehicle financed by wells fargo to strongly reconsider, no vehicle is worth the amount of aggravation this company has caused us.
I wonder how much the employees of wells fargo were paid for their souls?

wells fargo dealer services is the most inhumane company to deal with, over 30 mins on hold each call, not one person in the company willing to help resolve your issues, and just plain inept.

Northwest Corporation, or Wells Fargo, as they prefer to be known, offers sub-prime auto loans at a discount rate to those with recently discharged bankruptcies. Their intent is not to assist borrowers in rebuilding credit, but rather to be there when they stumble. Considering a person has to wait 8 years between bankruptcies and that most obtained a vehicle loan out of necessity, they make for great prey – doing anything to salvage their credit and only vehicle. That makes for the perfect borrower!
They’re as mean and nasty a corporation as I’ve had the displeasure of dealing with and if you fall behind in payments they will NOT work with you. Remember, that’s not their goal. They will harass you—calling you up to 5 times per day at home or at your office. They will initiate unauthorized withdrawals from your account even if you tell them you’re currently homeless. The nasty, demeaning and intimidating messages they leave will always concern something “urgent” which requires your “immediate” attention. The tonality and intensity will NEVER change -- whether you’re 2 days late or 90… even up to the point when they repossess your vehicle without warning after you’ve made a recent payment.
I have experienced this first hand and after some research see I’m not alone.
This company’s mortgage branch recently settled out of court for their predatory lending practices and it seems they’ve just shuffled their upper management a bit.
So, if you’re in the process of looking for a lender, avoid them like the creepy guy standing next to your vehicle in a dark parking lot. If you’ve already got a loan with them, woe be onto ye who fall behind. To them you are but a target…. a quota… a mark.

I originally posted 147 days ago under the name "Consumer Patriot". I decided to focus my time and energy on trying to end my relationship with Wachovia (now part of Wells Fargo). They finally gave me a payoff amount. It took an accountant I know, and very roughly 40 hours of work including phone calls, preparing correspondance, administrative and travel to finalize this loan and transfer it to a smaller lender.

I recently found out by watching Alex Jones (not by watching TV) that Wachovia/Wells Fargo was part of a big scheme to launder drug money. Here is a link to the UK Guardian with the story http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/apr/03/us-bank-mexico-drug-gangs

Wells Fargo, along with Chase (part of JP Morgan), Bank of America, and HSBC should be boycotted. These international banks are wrecking the US among other things, but that's a different topic. Back on the topic, in my experience and from what I've heard from friends, they also overcharge relative to smaller banks on fees and interest. They're also horrible in customer service.

Solution: Fight these banks with a good defense. Keep up on your payments, defend vigorously defend yourself against collections, and MOVE YOUR CHECKING, SAVINGS, AND LOANS ELSEWHERE! Use a local bank instead. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. GET A LOAN FROM A RELATIVE-WHATEVER YOU HAVE TO DO. YOU'RE A FOOL IF YOU USE WACHOVIA / WELLS FARGO, CHASE BANK, BANK OF AMERICA, or HSBC. Don't say you weren't warned.

I am also a Wells Fargo customer with an auto loan thats only one month past due. If they really want to take my car after I have called the account manager over and over trying to make arrangements to pay over a two week period to catch up on payments. The only response I got was that she wouldn't be able to keep the loan in good standing. I have witnessed many repossessions and none were actually done until the loan was at least two months past due. These people are predators and someone really wants to teach these people a lesson about predatory lending. Yes, this is still going on today. I really don't like people who try to muscle others for money. I hope that I'm not the only one show going to report them to the Better Business Bureau.

Wells Fargo does NOT want to give you the payoff amount.

I have a loan with Wells Fargo. Of course, like all corporations, they want and try to get as much information as possible from you. I always like now when you call most loan companies with automated messages: They usually say something like "This message may be recorded for quality purposes". Do quality purposes include legal purposes? Do quality purposes included low-quality purposes, like rude aholes coercing information out of you so they can harass you at work, a relative's house or home every day with the same questions? Does quality include withholding info you need to pay your account while they hire a repo man as soon as legally possible?

I will now expose Well's Fargo's swindling ways: I've had a car loan from them for years. I recently ran behind on payments. I called to get the full payoff amount. It seems that if you pay late, you cannot get automated information (red flag number 1). The robot sends you to the customer service people. Customer service answers and they demand again your account number. I asked for a pay-off amount. They got out of me account, name, address, but when they asked phone number, they went beserk and forwarded me to a manager. I tried this twice just to see if this is protocol-it is.

The "managers" will not give the pay-off amount either. They both tried to extract information from me, to which I replied that I gave them information. On the second try I tried to get the pay-off amount at least 4 times. He said that he needs to get my account current before he gives that to me. I replied "So you need a little money first, then a lot of money?" sarcastically. He said no (and what he meant was information about where I live and such), but continued like an imbecilic robot trying to threaten repossession and such.

The scam is obvious: Wells Fargo wants 1) you to continue to pay monthly payments, paying interest on your loan along with any late fees, OR 2) they want to repossess your car. Wells Fargo does NOT want to give you the payoff amount. I saw a different complaint about trouble getting a payoff amount on these boards. Good skill. Don't give them information. Any more problems and I will report them to the FTC and BBB. You should too, but don't rely on me. It takes several of us can do some damage.

Wells Fargo process

I have been trying to get mt loan modified for about a year. I have been givin every excuse from lack of documents, you make too much money, u don't make enough, your property has equity, it's in review, the investor will not comply, they don't have a program for me etc etc. And yet they want you to start the whole process again by submitting "the latest financial information" and the rest of the paperwork trail again and again and again! I even went to a homeowners assistence workshop for 10 hours, was told I qualified and yet received nothing. They claimed I was misiing documents. It seems that is their favorite excuse. When I ask why do I have to keep submitting the same documents, I'm told because "it's there policy"!. I finally contacted my Congressmans office and an aide is working with there liasion. I was contacted by their liason & was told I had one day to submit the same paperwork again. I asked why I don't just submit the paperwork they claim I'm missing only and the laison said "because that's our policy". What a bunch of BS! I'm joing the Class Action lawsuit and putting my house up for sale. That's what I feel the bank wants you to do. They have investors who want your house if it has equity so they can flip it. In the meantime, I will occupy my home & hope for a miracle.

I agree I just tried to get a loan modification and was told no hardship exists. I stopped paying other bills to keep up on my mortgage and they said I was not in default. I asked if I had to go in default to get help. I understand that Wells Fargo does this often. Does anyone know of a lawsuit against Wells Fargo for using such tactics?

Wells Fargo rude customer service

Last year in April I bought my daughter a car. The finance company that approved the loan was originally Wachovia. We had no issues up until they were bought out by Wells Fargo. My daughter lost her job last November, and had a hard time keeping up with the payments only receiving unemployment each week. In the past 3 to 4 months we have had nothing but harassment from them.

My daughter is currently 31 days behind on her bill, and I have had non stop phone calls from their collections department demanding the past due amount be paid in full this week or "further actions" will be done. One lady I spoke with claimed we were behind more than we actually were, and later had to correct herself. The man we have been dealing with is rude, insulting, non cooperative, non understanding and just cold. They call me at home, work and on the cell phone. We have asked them to help us out by deferring a payment for now, or helping us refinance the loan so our payments can go down, but they denied us both! We have been sending them checks for what we can afford each week and their collection agent says it's "unacceptable" and must be paid in full, yet they have no issue cashing those unacceptable checks! We are only behind $150 and this is the treatment we get!

My daughter has told the collection agent to not call me at work, so I can do my job and get money to pay their bill, but the jerk continues to interrupt me at work.

I filed a report with the FTC about their collection policy, but I'm sure it won't do any good. We will probably continue to be harassed and belittled by the unknown collection agent until the day we find an auto loan company to refinance our loan.

Anyone out there looking to buy a car, DO NOT ACCEPT A LOAN FROM WELLS FARGO! If you go through a rough patch, they will not help you out or understand your situation!

Sincerely,
Nancy

I have had pretty much of hardships from these representative in wells Fargo dealer services. I have been requesting a copy of the title to complete my registration in a different state. Its been more than 2 months since I have been running around the stupid suggestions these idiots gave me. Some times they say that they want a request to come from DMV and not me, to fax a copy of the title. Sometime they are OK with me sending the request for a copy of the title in DMV letterhead and sometime they are OK to receive it from me using normal fax. When I follow these instructions they don't react, as the opinion of one rep is not the same as others. Having delayed so much I demanded that I need to speak to supervisor to exactly know the process. Having tried out their useless faxing option I demanded that I need a copy of the title sent to my address. Its been 11 days and my title is still not with me. Wells Fargo always maintains that they have faxed or mailed. But they don't have any proof to substantiate that. When they fax they don't keep a confirmations. Neither their postal mails have a tracking number so that we could track. Trust me..these are the last people on earth who will help anyone. I hate having entrusted my car loan with them. If I had the slightest idea how bad they were I wouldn't have gone to these

I have recently paid off my loan with Wells Fargo Dealer Services. I went to the bank got a cashier's check, mailed it priority mail to get it there quickly since I am trying to sell the car, but can't sell it until I get the title. It got to them and posted to the account 7 days ago. According to their website when you pay the loan off with a cashier's check or any other certified funds title will be released in 4 days. However, when they got my cashier's check they thought it was a personal check (which according to them takes 15 days to release title) because obviously they have monkeys opening their mail. So I have been on the phone with these people 3-4 times per day every day since I saw they received the funds, and almost every person I talk to is a total idiot and has no idea what is going on. It is the most frustrating experience I have gone through in a while. Mind you, I have never been late on a payment or had any incident or issue with paying my loan, or getting their money to them. No one there is willing to help or try and figure out what is going on, its pretty sad. Customer service? I don't think they even know what that is.

I have been waiting on my unemployment funds to come in and have explained to Well Fargo Dealer Services in Santa Ana weekly. I have spoken to 6 different people and only one lady was professional and was understanding. Wnen I asked to speak to her again they would not pass me to her but instead had this jerk get on the phone. Another female started to tell me I can't afford a car and when was the last time I was employed, when I told her she should not be speaking to me like that she hung up on me. It gets better today I had a female yell at me that my car is getting taken from me and that she cant answer any of my questions. This is after I have given them seven thousand dollars. Tomorrow I will see what awaits me. The worst I have ever dealt with in my life. "Stick to CREDIT UNIONS"

I would have to agree Wells Fargo is screwing people over on their payments. A friend of mine just had his car towed, and his payment is due Saturday. Catch what I just said, 'his payment is due Saturday.' it is currently Thursday at 4AM! My friend was delinquent on his pay by almost 30 days! They had made a call to him, and he took care of the payment that afternoon by wiring the money to them, two payments! And the repo guy said the statement he had recieved said that my friend was delinquent on his payment by exactly 31 days today, which does not even line up to the payment cycle. Reading various reviews on Wells Fargo's Dealer services I have to decided that we are going to refinance through BoA, they can actually offer a better a rate than Wells Fargo, not to mention I will be closing my account with Wells Fargo and withhold deductions to my daughter's 409 account and open another one elsewhere. I don't won't those screw ups touching my money. For being one of the most reputable banks in the country, they need to get their crap together or they will collapse very soon. By the way futbol, state laws apply to property liens, so how things go where you live vary greatly. Some states mandate atleast 60 days of delinquent payment before an item is up for reposession.

What all you people have to realize is that the SAME PEOPLE WHO WORKED FOR WACHOVIA ARE THE SAME PEOPLE THAT WORK FOR WELLS FARGO. I can see where you would get fraustrated with the company, but if you dont have a saving plan in place as a safty net, or buy some sort of coverage to help you if you can pay, or something happens to you, ITS A LOAN not a GIFT! If you had to get your daughter a car that means credit wise she cant afford it on her own from the beginning. You blaming the company for not defering your loan ( which has a differnent requirement than other lenders) is not their fault but your own. Did you read the contract? did you ask who was your finance company before signing? did you research them? I bought my Van with them and before i signed, i did my reseach, i read the contract, and yes the deale wasnt happy i took my time, but once i was satisfied with the company, and all my questions had answeres, i was happy. Also Your loan doesnt have to be 30days past due for them to repo it-- if you are due on the 1st then as of the 1st if no payments are made then they can repo they give you a courtesy time which some companies call it 'grace period' but with WFDS and even with WACHOVIA, their is interest per day on that, (BECAUSE YOU HAVE A SIMPLE INTREST LOAN) and they extend that courtesy.

I have never in my life dealt with such rude, obnoxious behavior by a bank, their loss prevention department representatives threaten you by saying such comment's as "you wanna see me driving your car?' HUH? or telling me if you raise your voice to me on the phone I will put your loan into recovery right now! I could not even belive I was being spoke to like that this is a bank for god sake's and they cant get away with saying this stuff to people and being unprofessional like this? I have never in my life dealt with a bank that is so unprofessional and rude as these people are, they harrass you non-stop over 1 payment being late not even 30 days yet... I have never in my life seen anything like this, I was told by a friend I need to contact any attorney, It's not a wonder they already have a class action lawsuit going against wells fargo dealer services..for this sort of childish behavior, for a representative to start taunting me "saying you wanna see me driving your car?' huh? do ya...Come on are we in 1st grade here? and then telling me If I raise my voice one more time, she is going to put my loan into recovery right now, and my veh will be reposessed...REALLY ON WHAT GROUNDS? The one payment I am behind not even 30 days or because I suppossedly raised my voice while speaking on the phone to them? This crap isn't even legal what they are doing to people, and it needs to be stopped, I am turning this bank into the BBB and I suggest other people need to start doing so as well, and get this behavior stopped, they cant and shouldn't be able to get away with talking to and treating people like this. EVER. I am considering selling my vehicle just to get out from the loan with wells fargo dealer service's and the next vehicle loan I have I will from now on request that no loan of mine ever goes through wells fargo dealer services ever again.

I sold my car to a dealer for the amount I owed on my loan just to get out from under it. I have proof the pay off was made. The dealer told me that Wells Fargo will hold the payoff check until the last day of when the payoff is due and then they will apply to the loan. Meanwhile I have received multiple calls from WF collections stating that I am ruining my credit by not making a payment. I have patiently explained to them that they have been paid and to please call the dealer and provided them with that information several times. The last time I got angry and asked them just what they thought they were going to do...collect a car that wasn't mine? They said that if I wanted the calls to stop I had to put the request in writing! The woman began to talk about my credit again and I told her that I was amazed that here I thought I had done the right thing by selling my car so that I could pay off the loan and not have a reposession and now they were still threatening me? She said it was my responsiblity to pay for the car, not the dealers. I was so stunned that I almost couldn't speak! I then said that I hoped they were recording this conversation because it was one of the stupidest ones I had ever had and that I was not going to answer anymore of their calls so they could call me all they wanted to...in fact they could harass me all they wanted to...I wouldn't pay or speak to them again. I hung up after that. I still get the calls but I ignor them. In this economy I really don't care about my credit, what I cared about was doing the right thing and that was getting their money to them since I did loan through them and I feel I did that. What they do now is irrelevant and I will deal with their crap if I have to. Unfortuantely they also have my house mortgage so I suppose I will find a lien on it one of these days! A no win situation in my case even when I tried to do the right thing...good luck to all!

Wells Fargo no interest medical credit acct

Opened a Medical Acct for Dental Work. No interest for one year. Made more than the recommended monthly payments, on time. Missed the 1 year mark by 10 days, not the recommended payment. They charged me the $462.00 interest accrued. The one year date was hidden in the fine print. Since the dental work took over a month to complete, I was not sure the exact date. I was not expecting something so underhanded. I've used interest free accounts in the past and I have NEVER had an experience like this.

Wells Fargo illegally forced insurance/harassment

Wachovia FORCED insurance on me illegally.
I have documentation from Allstate proving that my coverage homeowner's insurance never lapsed.
I also have a letter from my lawyer dated last year requesting that the Line of Credit and account be cancelled.
They failed to cancel my account and then added the insurance charge this year.
They also placed the line of credit on the wrong property.
I am receiving harassing phone calls from them (for THEIR ERRORS) and the stress of dealing with this is affecting my health issues

Wachovia / Wells Fargo — wachovia loan modification

Update by Pennyroile
Aug 13, 2010 3:41 pm EDT

Just to give everyone an update on my Wells Fargo nightmarish experience:

I will give you the short version.
First they put the line of credit on the wrong property and wanted to charge me a fee ($100.00) to have the line of credit placed on the correct property. I refused because it was their mistake, not mine.
Actually they put it on both properties which I told them three times not to do.
I gave them the address and the PIN number. They wrote it all down and still screwed it up.
When it came time to sell the rental property it was a footrace for me to get everything cancelled so the property sale could go through while the propery buyer was in town. That was last year.

This year I received a bill for $1, 118.00 for the forced insurance.
In the fine print somewhere it is stated that they can force insurance upon you to protect themselves if your homeowners insurance has lapsed. (My coverage with Allstate has never lapsed.)
I faxed letters from my lawyer to Wachovia/Wells Fargo numerous times showing that my line of credit should have been cancelled last year: which they failed to do. Also, I faxed another letter from my insurance company, and the cover sheet from my Allstate homeowners insurance policy. showing that my insurance on the property had never lapsed.
They would "lose" the letters and drag their feet so the charges would pile up and they could get more money.
I finally faxed all the documentation from my local Wachovia bank to their insurance division, but I still had to call them and follow up over and over and over again.
I had words with three different branches because one branch doesn't know what the other one has done.
It was nightmarish, but I finally got my account cancelled and the balance to zero.
I just received a letter from them congratulating me on paying off my mortgage!
(I have never paid them a penny and never once used the Prime Equity Line of Credit that I had with them since the year 2004.) GEEZ LOUISE!

Is this what they did to you? Did you get it resolved? If so, how?

Thanks!

Wells Fargo bank errors / harassment

I took out a Prime Equity Line of Credit with Wachovia in 2004.
I HAVE NEVER USED IT AND MY BALANCE HAS ALWAYS BEEN ZERO.
Well, first off they put it on the WRONG PROPERTY
(I gave them the PIN number, lot number and address three times and they wrote it down.
FIVE YEARS LATER, when it came time for me to sell the rental lot, I had to race with a letter from my lawyer to Wachovia to get them to CANCEL the line of credit placed on the wrong property.
They faxed the proper forms to my lawyer, but FAILED TO CANCEL THE ACCOUNT.
(The gentleman at my local Wachovia demanded a $100.00 charge to put the line of credit on the CORRECT account, which I refused.) Their mistake, not mine.
I found that my account had NOT been properly cancelled SIX MONTHS LATER when I received a bill for $1, 118.00 for an insurance policy that they FORCED because my homeowner's insurance supposedly had lapsed.
(My homeowner's insurance has NEVER lapsed.)
I have faxed letters from my lawyer (from my local Wachovia's fax machine) to other divisions of Wachovia/Wells Fargo in addition to letters and documents from my insurance agent.

These letters and documents prove that Wachovia/Wells Fargo FAILED TO CANCEL MY ACCOUNT AND THAT CHARGES WERE FORCED ON ME ILLEGALLY.

They will never admit that they have made a mistake and will swear you have not provided proper documentation unless you actually go to your local bank and fax the papers from there.
THEN you need to call the branch and CONFIRM that they actually received the faxes
and follow up because they will
drag their feet,
lose your forms,
claim you left out a form,
(all so they can charge more interest)
and then you will receive harassing calls from a different division demanding payment which you may or may not owe. (Ask me how I know this.) Still fighting this out with them.
Damage Resulting = Emotional stress, Fibromyalgia pain and Chronic Fatigue and general health made worse.

Martha,
Not sure if you're referring to what I've been dealing with, which is money disappearing into thin air. I would show i had a certain balance, write everything down, deduct the transactions and all of a sudden i'm overdrawn and they're charging me overdraft fees. There's no evidence of a withdrawal, but the money's just not there. Over two months time, including overdraft fees we've lost $600-$700! And they say they don't see anything wrong. Either someone high up in the bank is able to change the #s and take the money or hide the transaction somehow or there is a hacker taking money from peoples accounts, , , , but no proof of it! And I've talked to several people just in the last day or two who've had the exact same thing happen to them!

Wells Fargo standard banking tricks

Wells Fargo has resorted to numerous changes in their banking policies in an effort to make money.

1) Transactions are processed from largest to smallest each night. Not in the order they went through the POS terminals or any other timestamp. Why? Well if you overdraw on one, they can charge you $35 EACH for all of the smaller ones. Be careful.

2) Electronic notifications - While Wells Fargo publishes all of the elements of a real electronic age bank, their notification system is slow. I had e-notices setup and money if 3 different accounts. One transaction came in on Monday which put me overdrawn...I had money in other accounts to cover but did not realize I needed to transfer it until the NOTICE came via email Wednesday at 4:50pm. OUCH! They gladly processed 10 transactions across the following 2 days and charged me $35 each.

Bottom line - These practices are crooked and all to Wells Fargo's advantage. Spread simple things like this across their user base, it is a lot of money. Pure Profit!

Customer Service people will all tell you "It is in your Service Agreement"...which BTW changes about once a month. Rest assured those changes are NOT to your advantage!

I moved all of my business to Chase after 15 years with Wells. They have been awesome. Real-time alerts. Run your debit card and the transaction hits your phone in

This bank declines you regardless of credit, race, or any type of issues. Just tried to open an account with wells fargo in red oak, tx. declined me because of credit issues, so they say. The representative that took care of me looked if though she was so happy I was declined and didn't seem to care. I walked out shameful and embarrassed. But, there was a good ending to this story. I went home got online searched for another bank for a opened checking account. Proud to say I'm a new customer with with Bank of America. "God Bless Bank of America. I Love You!" You gave me a second chance!

Thank You!

Wells Fargo inspection & nsf fees

My Wachovia Checking account now owned by the same Bank I have my Mortgage with-After being denied twice for mortgage modification they have charged my twice in past 3 months for an "Inspection Fee" once leaving a stcker on my door that our home was "Vacant!" So even though Wells Fargo will not modify my 71/2% loan I attempted to get caught up with them by sending a little extra when I could-Mistake! I send them $100 over my minimum and they charged me another inspection fee! Paying this $100 caused by checking account to be overdrawn $10, for which they simply charged me another $75 in NSF Fees- All in all doing business with this Bank cost me $115.75 in fees!
What a rip off.

Yes, what a rippoff. It happened to me too and twice, always about fees (and different case though). I think it's time to change banks. Many times big banks are big because they take big from their customers.
