Wells Fargo fraudulent activity

About two weeks ago I received a phone call from someone at Wells Fargo Financial bank about opening a Wells Fargo Visa card. At the time I was extremely busy (just got home from work, trying to walk the dog, and trying to help my wife make dinner) and asked the caller if they could simply send me the information by mail, but the guy was very persistent and I sat through his 10 minute pitch about the card. During this time he asked me a few questions to verify my information so that he could send me the information package.

I didn't really think much about the phone call and figured that I would get the usual credit card package in the mail with a form to obtain the new card. It wasn't until I checked the mail on Saturday November 1st that I realized that the jerk that I talked to on the phone had gone ahead and opened the credit card for me. I did not authorize this and I made it clear to him on the phone that I only wanted an information package and not the card. When I realized what he had done, I completely lost it and immediately called the customer service number listed on the new card.

After about a 15 minute wait on the phone I finally got to talk to a customer service rep. I was completely furious about the whole situation and told her that I wanted the account canceled immediately and I wanted to know the name of the person who authorized the card to be opened in the first place. She told me that 'there is no way that Wells Fargo Financial can know this information' which just made me more angry. I admit that I did say a few curse words while I was on the phone, but I didn't think saying 'hell' a few times was enough to have the customer service rep hang up on me... boy was I wrong. She hung up on me and didn't even confirm that the account had been closed.

As I am typing this message out I am still on hold with the customer service center trying to A) determine if my account was closed by the person that hung up on me and B) to push for more information on who opened the account. I know I probably won't get an answer to B) so I wanted to pass on my experiences to everyone via [redacted].

The bottom line is this... if Wells Fargo Financial calls you about opening a Visa card and you are not interested, HANG UP THE PHONE!

Wells Fargo illegal action on innocent bank customer in regards to identity theft

In 2002 I signed as a loan based on a personal agreement with the president for IBE (International Business Exchange) I was paid $50k as a silent partner. In the end the company went bankrupt and I was never informed and move out of the country. In the meantime the bank went after the partners and in the course of this they actually went after someone with a similar name as mines. The person has been fighting Wells Fargo for four years and I was never informed as to this mix up. Over the weekend I was contacted by the ex-President and he informed me of the mix up. I felt so bad about this and Wells Fargo has ruined this man life and I am so sorry so trying to do the right thing I contacted the bank today and was just shocked as to what I was told.

I told the Post Judgement Account Officer Brent Westman who I was and that I was the person he has been trying to contact and he has been filing legal paperwork against the wrong person. He asked me my social security number and name and pretty much told me he has a judgement and that I had to go to court in order to resolve this. I told him I would meet him at any bank in Modesto to resolve and resolve this mix up to resolve his actions against an innocent customer.

Wells Fargo bank has taken this customers saving, checking, garnish this gentleman wages, he was laid off his job due to this adverse action by Wells Fargo Bank and this Mr. Westman has taken it upon himself to ignor any information that could have cleared the customer. I am not understanding how a bank can just treat a customer this way and take his money and void his bill pay on-line to cancel his payments then put the money back in his account and then take all his money and apply this to this debt that doesn't belong to him.

I went to the county records office today and found the documents and it is Prime Loan/Judgement # [protected]-26 filed in Alemeda county court. The paperwork doesn't match up to me or the other person but it has bit and pieces of both of us which is quite odd. How can a bank get a jdugement when it doesn't have the correct information 100% yet can do whatever they want to harm an innocent person.

I was told that I have to get a lawyer and sue Wells Fargo and all I was trying to do was let them know I am the person who signed for the loan and they have been attacking the wrong person. This is a financial business and someone needs to report this. I am trying to find someone at Wells Fargo Bank high enough to complaint and have this corrected. In the end I shall sue Wells Fargo and I hope the customer who has been treated this way does the same.

Regards,

Joel Miller

Wells Fargo distructive liars taking money

I had a mortgage on my house with Wells fargo. I had bought and paid for 2 houses with Wells Fargo and paid off both my loans very quickly before, so I was using them once again. I was paying it twice a month instead of once a month to pay my loan off faster but most of my money was going into intrest, so I called up Wells Fargo and said how can I send more money to "principal" each month? The agent said well you'll have to refinance you house to do that. "We won't except more principal any other way". So I stupidly went along with it not realizing all I had to do was allocate more money to principal in each payment. They also charged me a fee of $400. for this as well. About 2 monthes later my family needed me to come back home and care for an elderly person, as there was no one to help her and she couldn't afford in home health care. So I called up Wellds Fargo, asked them If I could apply for another loan on another house out of state until the house I presently had (a very lovely desirable hous)e was sold. The loan officer said quote "Yes you have excellant credit and you qualify for a "preapproved loan." So I got on a plane and went back home to find a cheaper house quickly, and was able to find one just around the corner from my elderly aunt, So I could stay with her for long periods of time.
I called Wells Fargo along with my realtor and we both talked to the loan officer and he said " I was fine and everything was ready go they had my imcome tax recordds from the past 2 years my bank account records, a copy of my listing agreemenmt with the agent to sell my old house, WHICH HE CONFIRMED WITH MY WITNESS THAT HE RECIEVED, and that I had Quote: "pristine credit". I said are you sure that I'm ok to start moving?, she needs me here immediately. He replied to both me and my realtor quote "Oh yes! your fine! Go right ahaed I'm going to E mail you your approval!" I recieved an E mail in writing that I was approved and that I should start my move!" I was charged another $400. for processing again. So I got everything on the truck, transfered all my money from my bank to Wells Fargo bank in the city back home, had all my business transfered my bills, my insurence health and home, got the closing date settled on the new house. I paid the moving company $15, 000.00 I put down 20% on the house. I had the new house appraised surveyed, and inspected Then about a week before I was ready to get on the plane, I called up the loan processor again and said quote:" is there anything else you need before I go?" he replied QUOTE: "I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'LL NEED BUT YOUR LOAN IS NOT APPROVED NOW. WE CHANGED OUR MIND AND IT COULD BE BECAUSE YOU REFINANCED YOUR HOUSE AND YOU ARE USING IT AS A SECOND DWELLING. When I said that he had confirmed that he had recieved my listing agreement earlier, he said quote:" Oh yea that's right. Well I told the underwriters that you had a second dwelling instead and they changed their minds about the loan" I told him what I had been through and that he needed to straighten it out immediatly! He said well there's really nothing I can do. We have the right to change our minds even after closing if we want to. Its legal." I called up his suppervisor and complained and they said they would discuss it ? I don't know why this loan processor lied about my house be listed, what did I do to him ? but My family is very politcal. I've passed 3 bills in congress myself to help consumers. I'm now working on legislation to prevent this "SO CALLED LEGAL CHANGING AT ANY POINT AND TIME" I usually win these things I'm very good at this, and I have many good friends in the media to expose people like this and I intend to!

Being an employee of the company, I have read over 10 false/straight up lies on this one thread. Everybody just complains about "not being approved for a modification, " yet we have about 1400 modifications representatives who take back to back to back to back phone calls all day, and approve modifications left and right. I work in a different department and after reading so many complaints about "WF denied my modification" every time I transfer somebody to the modification department due to "financial issues unable to pay for mortgage" I follow up about three weeks later, and viola, modification approved because the customer did everything correctly and how they are supposed to. You would only be denied a modification if, shocking, you don't complete the process correctly. You don't just get denied because, well we don't want to do any modifications today sorry. It costs us thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars to foreclose on a house, that is the last thing we want to do.

We are had to leave our home in GA to move back to CA because my husband lost his job. Our house was vacant for several months and with our CA expenses and no income we fell behind. We don't live in the GA home and don't qualify for a modification. You hear all about programs out there that are willing to help you and WHERE ARE THEY. Wells Fargo REFUSES to work with us. Even with renters in the home, we are out of pocket $600 every month. WE NEED HELP to catch up. familiastewartingeorgia@yahoo.com

I have also been given the run around with Wells Fargo. We experienced some financial issues when our daughter was ill. Since we didn't have insurance to cover the medical costs, we had to pay for the medications out of pocket, which were quite expensive. This happened in 10/2006. We ended up 2 months behind on our payments. We did qualify for a loan modification which gave us another month not paying the mortgage payment and lower payments for the next three months. At that point we would be able to apply for another modification that would allow us to pay larger payments to get all caught up. Somewhere during this repayment process things went wrong. Wells Fargo returned a check t0 us as NSF, which it, in fact, was not. It ended up costing us overdraft fees, late fees, etc. THEN we ran into more financial difficulties due to poor home inspections when we purchased the property...which FYI to anyone buying a home through FHA, you don't have to pay for inspections that exceed a certain dollar amount. I cannot remember the exact amount, but we paid almost $1, 000 in order to assure that we would not run into problems. We needed to replace our roof, which had passed inspection just 2 years ago. We were informed at that time that we wouldn't need to worry about it for at least 10 years. We both had shaky credit so most of the cost to repair came out of our pocket putting us behind on our mortgage payments again. BUT what could we do when the leak was so bad it had soaked the second floor ceiling to the point that it caved?! I won't get into all the details from that point on, but I will say that we fell 3 months behind on payments, tried the partial payment catch-up and WF denied. We received a loan modification, but at the end of modification period we were denied assistance in dealing with the balloon payment that was due. Wells Fargo filed foreclosure motion on our home in Jan. 2009. This was our first home and our first experience in dealing with such a huge investment. The special programs available for 1st time buyers, etc to aid you in the process, in my opinion, are a bunch of bs. We could easily have made our regular monthly payments from Dec '08 till now, but due to the refusal of the bank to provide help, we are without a home.

I hope when you go to congress, you also mention how they refuse to help people who are only 1 month or so behind! I am told that they won't take partial payments to help me get caught up (even though that is an option on their web page). I am mourning the loss of my mother on Feb 21st and requested help to get caught up after having to pay for the funeral. The woman on the phone entered all my financial information and said "There are no repayment options I can offer you." What a JOKE! I pray that you have success with your issue with them. What a bunch of... I don't know what!

I am also having problems with wells fargo and will never bank with them again as soon as my mess is cleared up. I had financial difficulty and got behind in my house payments I am currently trying to pay all of my past due payment but they return my checks and give me the run around about having to call a law office to make my payments but the law office keeps referring me back to wells fargo to make payments. in the mean time wells fargo says that they have placed a foreclosure on the house and the law office will handle the payments. This wouldn't be out of hand if wells fargo would just take their money and stop playing games. I also received a loan modification letter without even asking for it and when I called the 800 number I was rudely told I don't qualify and I had even given the person on the phone any information.

hello
sorry to hear about. your demise w/wfhm. i feel ya. i've been finaced with wells fargo for 10 years, and never been late on a payment, untill recently. my spouse broke her neck in an auto accident. lost her job, on and on problems. i am 90% disabled from the us army and have a perm income. i was late on october and when i ask to pay, they would not take a debit or a check routing & #. i had to send a cashiers check. i told them my problem and they sent me an application to modify my loan. before i even filled it out they called and said i do not qualify? they know i have alot of equity and they refuse to work with me. i still am behind for nov. and get called all hours of the day. they want to take my family's home. i lost my blood and hand for this country, only to be harrassed by a bunch of money hungry idiots. i am about to break and give up. i just don't have the strength to fight anymore, done enough fighting. i am ashamed of wells fargo for being so heartless. i'm trying to get help from the disabled american veterans, but if not they have to live in their own skin and look in the mirror. i just hope and pray that the young warriers coming home don't ever have to experience wells fargos ungrateful, distasteful acts to us vets,

hey good luck and god bless america

I agree, EMC mortgage Co. seems to be very illusive when it comes to customer service. I've been in the process of a loan modification with this company for several months now and it seems as though they arn't really interested in working with the customer/tax payer at all. Banks/lawyers/politicians oh my, does this remind anyone of a place called OZ as opposed to America. When it comes to working with any of these guys it just feels like I/we are the sacrificial lamb being lead to the slaughter. Keep your eye on the ball America, if you can!

I had a mortgage loan with EMC. I arranged a short sale of my property with EMC, and escrow closed on the sale back in October 2008. EMC owes me IRS Forms 1098 and 1099-C, neither of which I have received. I succeeded in speaking to a real live person at EMC and requested that they send me those forms. They agreed to send the forms. This was two weeks ago, and I haven't yet received the forms. I'm worried, because I'll need the forms to file my income tax returns.

Customer service does not exist at EMC. I have tried for months, during their supposed hours. It immediately disconnects when you try to speak to somebody. They do not even have an email address!

VERY SHADY! Their loans are all transferring to Chase, but in the meantime I am very uncomfortable sending them my money.

Hi, I have had the same problem, here is what you can do (what we have done) to get a hold of them call [protected] and just stay on line, don't press any buttons, eventually it will give you an option of speaking to operator, and she can direct you, or try [protected] ext 2106, that's what the operator told me to do. I think, it is very unfair to their customers that they don't let them know what is the number for actual "live person".

Hopefully, this will help you!

Wells Fargo illegal practices

I had bought some stuff online from walmart and delias, they had charged me twice for my delias order and some how charged both my account now prepaid visa card and deducted funds from my wells fargo account for the same walmart order and according to walmarts shipping policy your bank /credit cards not billed until your orders shipped and yet i didn't get all my order but yet had paid for it. And they made me feel guilty for spending my own money too! They said well why did you spend so much here i told them thats for me to know and for you people not to find out.

Wells Fargo unauthorized withdrawel by wells fargo

I have checking and saving accounts with Wells Fargo since more than 15 years. The accounts are under Family Trust account and not personal. I started a business over 2 years ago and I got a separate business credit card account for myself and my partner in the business. My banking relation with Wells Fargo Bank was great.

I paid off my business credit card account completely. But my partner did not pay his balance or the minimum payments due on his card for a month or two (card # ending with 1122).

Shockingly, and upon checking my online banking account on 10/7/2008 morning, I saw that an amount of $2, 609 has been taken from the family trust saving account, the savings that was saved for my daughter school. When I called the bank they told me that the bank took the money to pay off the minimum payment on my partner’s card. This has been done without my permission or my authorization.

I went to my Well Fargo Branch, and met with the branch manager and she helped me to make phone calls to the right departments to explain what happened. They told me that I have signed a personal guarantee on the business credit card account, which I don’t recall signing such a document.

I have requested a copy of the signed documentation to show to my attorney by sending a fax from the wells Fargo branch on the same day 10/7/08, and I haven’t received any response so far (copy of the fax confirmation is available)

What the bank has done is totally wrong, even-though if a personal guarantee has been signed – which I haven’t seen yet- the money was taken from a family trust account. Not a personal account. The bank should have called me before they take any action specially when I have a great 15 years banking relation, the bank should have gone after my partner, not punch me because I trusted the bank and kept my savings for my daughter’s school. The bank should not have punched me when I have paid off my business card completely.

I request a refund of the unjustified withdrawal of the amount of $2, 609.00 to my account.

Thank you.

Wells Fargo mistreatment

I re did my mortgage with Wells Fargo a year ago and was totally abused by the agent. She lied and ignored me, then sent me the paper the day before signing with the interest rate and payment information.. On the day of signing, I came across a document which seemed to indicate that I would have to pay the taxes - I had requested that the taxes be included on a regular basis during the loan negotiations. I am now stuck with a mortgage the same as the previous one, but I still have a $150 a month tax payment on top of the amount of the previous loan. Then I wentt o check them on my checking account which has not been used very much. I was dismayed to see a $12 a month charge for the last 2 months because "I did not have 3 products with them". I haven't had 3 items for at least a year, and there was no notification, just added 2 months of check account payment for 2 months (which by the way made me $5 minus in my account. Obviously this company has lost touch with reality... I mentioned that I had a couple bad things happen and the rep proudly announced that they were the biggest ahd best in the industry... HAH! I wrote them over and over but they refused to listen to me.

Wells Fargo illegal actions

Wells Fargo has destroyed my credit and refuses to repair it! Before I was deployed to Iraq for 15 months, I had changed insurance companies for my vehicle. Wells Fargo was not aware of the change, but knew that the old insurance policy was canceled. Without my knowledge, they added insurance onto my loan. Consequently, $215 of my $550 monthly payment was being taken for this insurance. When I returned from Iraq, I applied for a motorcycle loan, and was denied. When I pulled up my report, Wells Fargo was reporting my loan as being delinquent over 30 days for 15 months. I faxed them evidence that there was insurance on the vehicle the entire time I was in Iraq, and they were supposed to adjust my principle balance and fix my credit report. The balance was supposedly adjusted (though I don't see much of an impact in it as it should be) but they refuse to fix my credit now. They told me a request was never put in. A request? I can't even begin to tell you how many times I requested they fix it! Then, they said it would be quicker to file a dispute with the credit bureau. I did this, and Wells Fargo is still reporting that I was delinquent for 15 months, even though I can provide proof I made all the monthly payments and that the vehicle was insured. I am trying to trade in the vehicle, but can't due to my credit history. Wells Fargo won't even give me a new loan, when they're the ones who messed it up! The requested I get a co-signer, which I provided, but they said because I live in Texas and she is in California, they can't use her. How that makes any sense, I don't know. They are also still trying to collect over $400 in late fees from me. I have repeatedly requested a print out of my updated payment history to show how much of each payment was applied to interest and principle. I have yet to receive it.

To make matters worse, under the Soldiers and Sailors Act, by federal law, they are not allowed to charge me more than 6% interest (my regular rate is 18%... I still ask myself why I agreed to that). I faxed them my orders to show I was deployed and the dates. They came back and said the orders were not sufficient enough. I re-faxed the same orders I originally sent, and now they want me to show paperwork I am still active duty. Why that matters, I don't know.

So, not only have they destroyed my credit and refuse to fix it, they are refusing to help me get rid of a vehicle I no longer want AND they are not abiding a FEDERAL LAW by adjusting my interest rate during the time I was deployed. Wells Fargo is taking advantage of active duty military by adding things onto their loans while they are indisposed without their knowledge.

In addition to placing a complaint on this website, I also plan on filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I have an appointment with a JAG officer to discuss my legal rights.

I know how you feel my husband is being deployed again over seas . We just got a car and have not received anything from them about the first payment, but a phone call about insurance which we had proof, but 2 days ago they came and repo our car and said that we would have to get another way of fiancing it. The first payment just came up I guess because when we bought the car the place wed bought the car said we had 60 days or so before our first payment and we still have yet to receive a payment book or letter stating when it was due. Dave was gone the whole month of may duing training. We can't even get them to talk to us. I want my car back and don't know what to do. Trying to get a hold of the main branch but can't get past the people at the office. Any ideas what to do.

Wells Fargo illegal activity

Mortgage rape!

A+ 2/28 xp full doc 40/30 1st
6 month libor
Margin 6.99%
Start rate/floor 9.95%
Ceiling 15.95%
1st rate change 24 months 3%
Regular rate change 6 months 1.5%

I never received a gfe on this loan. I was told the rate was 6.99% by the loan officer. wells fargo bought this loan from inhouse lender with knowledge that the property was over-valued and the terms of the loan were outrageous.

I have been requesting help regarding this situation since august of 2007 when I found out that the rate was actually 9.95%. I have also been working with the loan department workout negotiator for months and have been told one thing and then another thing is done or completely disregarded. I have kept very careful notes regarding every conversation I have had.

Imagine my surprise to learn from an ad with careerbuilder.com that a workout negotiator makes between $13.00 and $14.00 per hour. a high school diploma is required and some "other related finance experience preferred". must be detail oriented, self-motivated and have ability to organize assigned work. must be a team player.

I am appalled that my future and the future of my home are in the hands of inexperienced workers, making only $13.00 to $14.00 per hour. it's no wonder that there is no communication and no credible solution to help me in this incredibly malicious loan being offered.

What has been done to us is immoral, not the least of which should be illegal and the powers that be should be ashamed that this type of practice was and is ongoing. had I known that my actual interest rate would start at 9.95%, I would never have agreed to the loan.

Also, notary publics are the only people that go over the loan documents for the purpose of signing. there is no 3 day right of recision with a new loan, only with a refinance. the notary that signed with us gave us no information, simply pointed out the places where we were to sign. if notaries are to be allowed to sign loan documents with clients, they should be required to have knowledge and give explanation as to the terms of the loan at the time of signing, or the lender should be required to sit at the table with the borrower and the notary at the time of signing.

My credit is ruined and I will most likely lose this house because of unscrupulous and what should be illegal practices by the people involved.

I'm sure i'm not the only one who is experiencing this. I have 12-year old twin boys who are completely stressed out that we will have to move out of you home and they will possibly have to change schools.

In addition, the value of this property is now only $490, 000.00. it has devalued by $250, 000.00.

SUE THE [censor] THEN

STEP (1), Go Find a GREEDY, Hungry Lawyer on a contingency Basis FEE. If he does it for nothing but the outcome of your case, and then you pay him off for his services, You'll know you got a good case without him telling you since he already knows you're gonna win.

STEP (2) RECOUP all your losses and then some.

Go thru the Yellow Pages until you find one Attorney that says he'll do it.

I had to call up 33 Attorneys for a particular case but I found ONE, JUST ONE, that would do it, and I won!

The rest are lazy Cherry-Pickers that want easy cases only.

Wells Fargo never again

I would have to say that I am fed up with wells fargo. The calls requesting payment is ridiculous. You calling every half hour isn't going to make money come flying out of my mouth. I understand we are behind on our bill and it is in danger of repossessing but COME ON! I was out of work for 8 weeks due to conflicting work schedules with my husband and I so we got a month or two behind. Well, we noticed that his job wasn't going to be able to pay for all our bills so he went back to his old job so that I could go back to working nights. We needed another income. Ok so we were all caught up on everything and then I had to be out of work again due to us having another child. Well, we were no more then a day late not paying my car payment and they are calling us again. We were told when we were behind again that we could ask to defer a payment, or even two if they were both late, to the end of the loan. So My husband and I were glad that we could do that for when i would be out for having the baby. Well, we let it get behind so we could defer the payments and we were told that they couldn't do it because there was an application process for it. I'm sorry but if you are behind on a payment and you want to defer it, by the time it gets accepted the next payment would be late already! So needless to say when we kept getting phone calls my husband finally answered it and they were requesting payment. My husband explained that we requested a deferal and she had no idea and had to check for us. Come to find out it was DENIED! Nobody would have called us to tell us it was denied so we wouldn't have found out until it was too late. Now we are 2 months behind because of that and they are threatening to come take the car. Which is my way to get back and forth to my job! I am so frustrated with wells fargo. They need to stay connected and communicate with each other at least if not with thier customers! They are ridiculous and I will never use them again!

During these times of financial crisis, we are encouraged by many to not panic. Don't take your money out of the stock market or the banking institutions. Wells Fargo fraud, fraud, fraud

After being on time with 29 payments never missing one for my car payments, we ran into some financial difficulties. spoke with someone in the department about a week a half ago and he said, no problem, just call back after the due date and they will give you a deferment on payment for a month. Called back today 10/13/08 and after going through their chain of command in their collections department, I was told by the floor supervisor verbatim "We are not heartless, we want our money" among other words. I live on social security and had just run into a temporary situation. On time for 2 1/2 years and this is how a bank treats good customers? I can't believe it.

Wells Fargo bad service

Wells Fargo made an illegal automatic withdrawal from my personal checking account 11 days after I called in a payment. They took out a very odd amount of $986.59, not even my house payment amount. I did NOT have all of that in my account so my credit union paid them the difference, charged me a $24 overdraft fee, AND put me $220 in the negative. I had my credit union fax me a copy of their withdrawal and called WF. They DENIED any activity saying it does not show on their system of such a withdrawal. I faxed them the copy and they said for me to call them in 5 business days. I had to go without ANY money, I was FLAT BROKE for almost a whole week because of them. Then all of the sudden that money is back in my account but REFUSE to pay me the $24 in overdraft fees. And they DENY the fact they ever withdrew my money. When I asked how my money all of the sudden 'appeared back into my account' they told me to check with my credit union, which of course they did NOT have anything to do with that. This company is full of crap. I am now looking for a different company to deal with, a company who is trustworthy because I plan on being on my home for a long long time.

Credit defense department. In August I open a credit card. I was not aware that I signed up for this program. In March . I mention to them I wanted out. They stated I would be canceled. On or about 4/23/12 I called and was concerned about my bill and I spoke with Mr. John Vitao he stated he did not see anything where I had called to canceled the program.

When I called that department-defense Mr.Zack, stated he did see where I had called to canceled it in March, he did not know why it had not been canceled. Then a few days letter I received a copy where my signature had been signed on a piece of paper. When I signed there was a very small machine I signed with and could not see all of the paper work.

If this is the case I have a right to canceled this program. I would like my money back. Also I felt this was in retalation about my phone called. I felt the first guy was not very help full at all. Also this will lead me to cancel my Raymour and Flaingan furniture account. I call Wells Fargo about this matter, so one stated I would get a call in 48 hours. Sofar, no response as of yet.

I got a car loan from Wells Fargo in the Fall of 2007. By July of 2008 they were calling me to tell me that every payment has been late. I sending in payments a month before they were due. They told me it was my fault, they didn't care and it was my responsiblity. I told them I had no control over the post office. They said they didn't care. They would call me up to 5 times a day. Even after I already spoke with them. One lady would yell at me all the time. When I spoke to the supervisor, he just kept threatening me that my car would be repocessed. I told him I didn't care and would gladly take it to a bank. Then he would turn around and say no, don't give it up it's bad for your credit, then turn around and threaten to take it. I told him to make up his mind, if I wanted to give it up then they'll have to deal with it. I still have it and struggling payments. I told them I had lost my job and they just didn't care. I told the supervisor that they were crooks and only in fees thus wanted it towed and not taken in. I told him I was tired of being yelled at. I was tired of being harassed. I was tired of telling those people to stop calling 5 times a day and yet they still did it! I applied for automatic withdrawl so I don't have to pay the 10 phone fee and they denied it. They said pay online, I told them I don't always have internet. Personally, I feel the purposely hold payments. Why did they make a profit? Because they are crooks. They charge rediculas fees. I had somebody commit fruad on a checking account I had with them once, and they still made me pay it. Personally, Wells Fargo still owes me $800. But i'll never see it because thiefs don't return stolen money.

I had recently lost my job, because of this I ended up having the use Wells Fargo's Direct Deposit Advance to cover some bills. I honestly was ashamed of this. My paycheck from my new position was deposited on Friday and they took the whole thing to cover the advance! I advanced $400.00, my paycheck was $700.00. How does that work!?

Then, because they took my whole check and drew my account negative to cover it I've been getting harassing calls from them concerning my -34.00 account. This morning, at work I told the lady it would be paid in full and then closed as of January 2nd, 2009 and to please note that on my account and stop calling me. She told me that she needed to call me weekly to make sure I followed through. It's christmas time, I have gifts I need to by with that money.

I also have a Wells Fargo Secured Credit Card with a small limit that was linked as overdraft protection. When They overdrafted my account, they pulled money from my already almost maxed credit card and put it over limit and then charged me fees because they put it over limit. So Now, I owe them 34.00 dollars for a Checking account, and 36 dollars for my credit card.

On top of that I had a savings account with them that was closed in November of 2007 when I moved out of the Wells Fargo Area. I just recently recieved a letter (November 2008) from Wells fargo bank concerning this closed account. Confused because the letter didn't say much I called the 1-800 phone number and talked to a repsentative. She then told me that this account was "charged Off" with a balance of -107.00 and that I needed to pay!

I informed her that I had closed that account with a zero balance in November of 2007 and if the account did have a balance on it, with it didn't, why was I hearing about this now. She told me that I needed to provide proof that the account was closed. I told her that I shouldn't have to provide proof and I didn't understand where this random letter was coming from.

Then just today, I got a letter in the mail from Wells Fargo, along with my Statement saying they are financial sound.

Yeah, right.

I went in one day to close an account that I didnt need. I spoke to the customer service manager and she seemed really nice and professional. I told her i wanted to close the account. she told me to wait a couple days for the account to be offically closed. two days later i Realized that i mistakenly used the "closed account" card. of course i was over charged so i paid off what i used the card for, and she said she would reverse the over draft fee. i waited a couple days and noticed that the account was still opened and i was being charged more for not paying the overdraft fee. i gave her a call and she told me not to worry and that she'll handle it. i'm a very busy person with work and school so a week later i check my account and i realized that the account is still opened and that i owe $92.18 . she didnt close the account like she said she would and i was charged $57.13 on my new account w/o my permission to pay some of the over draft fees. im extrememly dissappointed that i put effort to close the account and checking that she would do her job and in the end i have to pay money i don't feel like i should.

Mine is not as bad as others, but I have had a Wells Fargo credit card for 24 years and never had a late payment. Recently, Wells Fargo raised my interest rate from 6 to 10 percent. I calledand asked for my old rate, and was basically told too bad, that everyone across the country was being raised because of the "business climate." When I pointed out that Wells Fargo took millions in stimulus/TARP funds, the person on the phone representing Wells Fargo said, "I can't comment on that." In response, I said, "Well, who can comment on that?" I was passed on to a higher level person (or so I was told); this person said yes, the bank did take the millions, but that the funds helped thousands of consumers save their houses. Reading these personal experiences on-line, and personally knowing someone whom Wells Fargo is harassing over their mortage, I can only surmise that these representatives lied to me with what was probably a scripted spiel. I have subsequently applied for a different card and will soon be canceling my quarter-of-a-century relationship with this bank.

I called WF's Auto refinance dept at [protected]. I was trying to see if I could re-negotiate an extremely high rate loan I stupidly accepted. I did not know how this interest was going to be computed, and believe me it rivals the Mobs rates big time. I spoke to a guy named Tim P who basically told me that, he wasn't about to address the issue because no one had forced me to accept the loan. When I expressed how rude he was being, and the desire to speak to some one else, he insisted that there was nobody else, that he was the man. Good Luck with this bank folks.

Did by chance 30 days pass between the time you advanced the cash til the time you got your deposit? Because, if no deposit is made within 30 days, the amount will be deducted automatically whether you have the funds or not. The fine print says so :(

Wells Fargo unauthorized billing

I use Bill Pay thru Wachovia. In Sept they started charging my account on the day I scheduled a payment (I'm not referring to electronic payments but payments made by check). The payee did not cash the check for another 10 days - therefore they had the use of my money for 10 days. If they do that with every depositor just think how much of our money they have to use every day that they shouldn't.

After all, it's our money until the check is returned to the bank cashed by the payee. The Presidents office said they couldn't do anything about the situation.

I deposited CASH first thing friday morning (July25) to cover payments that had to be made on the 23rd but go to a separate bank... so it always takes THREE days to clear. When I checked my account online on saturday the 26th I found $70 in nsf fees with no account of what they were for. So I called the bank and was told that they were for checks written on the 23rd. I said, but those checks didn't come in until the night of the 25 and still aren't even logged into my account. They couldn't have bounced on the 25th because the money was there that morning in CASH.

They told me the checks came in on the 24th... which is impossible since they were written to a different bank and it takes three days to clear from the retailer to their bank to my bank... (this was wachovias own advice to me several months ago).

Then the man told me that he could see when the checks were written and at the time they were written there wasn't enough in my account to cover it... this tells me that they have a 'sometimes' practice of being spiteful and bouncing things after the fact... that didn't reach them until money was in the bank but because they see when the check was written they spitefully bounce it anyway.

This is not the first time they have wrongfully taken money from our accounts. Back in December they charged nsf fees due to a purchase that was made when there was PLENTY of money in the account to cover it... making other stuff bounce in the long run because of a bunch of incorrect nsf fees. THEN over a month later. they charged NSF fees AGAIN for the same transaction that supposedly took place back in december... and their excuse was that the money didn't get pulled till January.

So which is it? Did the same purchase OD the account in December or in January because it cant be both they tried to say that the money was on hold in December... so it bounced the account (which makes no sense) but then when the money was taken... in JANUARY supposedly (there wasn't enough to cover it... but it was on hold? so why wouldn't it have been there waiting?

They have the upper hand because they can change their computer records to say whatever they want them to say and it ends up being your word against theirs... they they try and confuse you by talking in circles. Their rules change with the wind and they have stolen thousands of dollars from us over the last 3 years. They don't care who they steal from, senior citizens, people on low fixed incomes, even their own employees are treated poorly. If a wachovia employee is unfortunate enough to become a victim of id theft or fraud... they get fired... if their bank account gets overdrawn... by accident... they get fired. what happened to humanity? Its no wonder wachovia is going under.

Unfortunately it seems that all banks are taking on these dishonest practices and seem to be above the law.

I say run far and fast from all banks.

How do you contact the President's office, I just had the worst experience with Wachovia...they have a manager at a Croydon PA who racially profiles people just based on a first name...mind you she did know this person and did not know what they looked like, they did not bank at her branch and she refused to apologize.

Wachovia's practices are very suspicious. I am astounded how some routine checks that I send the same time each month, take longer to hit my account when my activity is unusually high or my balance becomes extremely low.
When my account activity is low or my balance remains very high, the checks always seem to clear days earlier. Service reps never have an answer for this.
If I forget to record, or miscalculate, debit card purchases, I'm in big trouble. They take money from your balance to cover the debit card purchases that haven't yet posted to the account; fair enough.
But they then charge overdraft fees for those items once they post. Even though those dollars were already accounted for, because the money to cover them was taken from my account which caused one overdraft that take the balance much lower then ever anticipated.

Wells Fargo inability to withdraw funds

On Monday, October 6, 2008, I went to the downtown branch of Wells Fargo Bank in Denver to withdraw $10, 000 from my savings account. The teller told me he could not give me the money because the bank did not have the funds. I told the teller I did not understand. He asked the teller in the next booth, showing her my withdrawal slip, and she shook her her head no. I asked to speak to a manager. The teller called a manager over, and the manager explained to me that the bank did not have such sums of money on hand, and that I would have to call in advance for them to order the money to honor my withdrawal. This is a large bank in downtown Denver, full of customers. Yet they did not have enough money on hand to fill a $10, 000 withdrawal request.

When I got home, I called Wells Fargo Customer Service, and the representative said it sounded very odd that the bank would not have that kind of money on hand. She said, "it blows my mind" that they would tell you such a thing. She put me on hold. When she came back on the line, her tone had changed, and she said the bank policy was that if I wanted to withdraw such a sum of money, I would have to call in advance to order it, that contrary to the movies, banks do not have large sums of money laying around in their vaults. I commented that this was the largest branch in downtown Denver, and I was a bit surprised that $10, 000 would exceed their cash supply. I asked, then, if ten people came in to the bank, each one wanting just $1, 000, then would they start turning customers away. "Of course not, " she said. But if I wanted to withdraw the money from my account, I would have to call ahead and wait a day or two for them to get it in. This makes no sense! I wonder what would happen if I came in and wanted to close my account and take out all of my cash?

Wells Fargo non stop harrassing phone calls

Ever since I took a loan out with Wells Fargo I have been getting these harassing phone calls that start at 8:15 in the morning and continue til 9:30 in the evening. This goes on 7 days a week and on Holidays! I have spoken to them and every month when I tell them when I have mailed each payment and they tell me that they will make a note of it in their system, then the very next day I get another phone call from a different person and when I tell them the persons' name and extension that I spoke with the previous day they tell me "it doesn't really matter because they are on an automated system so they can't control who to call and who not to call". Then when I have a current account with them I still get a phone call from them asking me if I would like to refinance my loan with them. I have a home daycare center and I have told them that if this continues they are going to cause me to file for bankruptcy because I can't be answering phone calls every few minutes of every day when I need to be focusing my attention on the children! I have already tried changing my phone number, but somehow they got the new number and started their harassing phone calls all over again.

Don't shift the blame. If you made your payments on time as you agreed to do they wouldn't be calling you. I would be willing to bet that if the bank owed you money and said they would pay by a certain date and didn't, you would be calling. Bottom line is don't blame your lack of responsibility on someone else.

Wells Fargo harassment

Wells Fargo Collections, as an agent of Raymour and Flanigan, makes abusive and harassing phone calls. They call at dinner, on Sundays, and insist on debriefing you, regardless of your credit or payment status. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was advised there was none available. Then, when I got one, Craig, he was obnoxious and abusive. He intimated I was responsible for the abusive phone calls, in spite of the fact that I had already paid. I am tempted, since I own my home and don't need credit, to default on my loan just to anger them.

Do not buy from Raymour and Flanigan because of their bank Wells Fargo!

Wells Fargo is one of the worst banks to do business with... I unfortunately got a loan from them several years ago. I still get nasty phone calls form them and often the customer rep wants to argue with you. I pay my bill as close to the due date as possible. They even said they would work with me regarding a missed payment back in April...My understanding was that they would add this payment at the end of my loan. I was very appreciative of their understanding and willingness to work with me... However, now they want me to add the missed payment to my next two (July and August}. I told them I would not be able to July and would be willing to submit the additional amount to August and September. OK, was their answer. Now I am getting letters and phone calls about the "additional" monies and how I'm not holding up my end of the agreed upon amount...

I have to send you this email to notify you that I am being harassed by your collections department everyday. I have explained to every one that has called and there Supervisor that I just refinanced my home with Wells Fargo hence the reason payment on my old loan wasn't made. No one I have spoken to has had the decency to follow up on my case and verify this and end the calling, they just have someone call the next day.
It has to be in no uncertain terms the worst customer service I have ever experienced with any company I have ever dealt with. Please I beg you, put a procedure in place so that one hand knows what the other is doing with your financial institution. The harassment is ridiculous to say the least. I would have thought that the first person that called me would have verified that I settled and that the payment was in fact not due. Wouldn't that make more sense than alienating your clients?

Think twice about a Wells-Fargo Home Mortgage. If you are required to carry private
mortgage insurance, and you pay off your mortgage loan early or refinance it, they will
NOT refund any unearned private mortgage insurance they charge to your escrow account. For instance, let's say that your mortgage payment is $1, 000 a month of which
$100 per month is mortgage insurance. If you pay off your account on the 5th of the month, technically you are due a refund from the 6th through the last day of the month
for your mortgage insurance premium. But Wells-Fargo Bank will collect the premium
for the entire month even though the mortgage may have been paid off early in the month, and they WON'T refund a single cent. To me, it is a RIP-OFF bank with policies
that paid it's bottom line with deceptive, unethical, and morally wrong fees and charges.
Don't ever lose a key to your safe deposit box or they will charge you a $200 fee to have
a locksmith drill out the lock in your safe deposit box, even if it is costing them only $75;
they are thereby unjusting profiting from an unfortunate situation.

Wells Fargo mortgage lender placed insurance premium

We are complaining horrific mortgage LENDER PLACED INSURANCE PREMIUM RIP OFF by American Servicing Company, American Security Insurance company, & Assurant Specialty Property. (American Servicing Company is A WELLS FARGO)

1.Exorbitant 800 – 900% Lender placed insurance premium without any notice. We provided Home owner’s insurance policy covering from Aug 2006, so there was about 1 month and 2 weeks of lapse which they claimed they notified us to cover from June 2006 which we never received and we demanded them to provide the proof of such notice but they failed to provide.
2.Excessive 800 - 900% gauging – if it is not illegal, it is willful exploitation. For mere 1 month 2 weeks short lapse, they charged insurance premium whopping $1568.52 ($1078 + $490.90), prorated abut $8000 yearly for DWELLING ONLY without any liabilities for COVERAGE AMOUNT $750, 000 while comparable industry average Dwelling only premium for that coverage is about $1200 YEAR.
3.Unilateral lender placement charge –BETRAYAL OF CUSTOMER’S TRUST. They unilaterally insured at the highest gauging amount of premium THRU THEIR OWN INSURANCE COMPANY WITHOUT CUSTOMER’S CONSENT. They betrayed customer’s trust to profiting themselves, which should be breach of fiduciary duty. This self-dealing insurance premium rip off is directly hurting consumer and should be stopped. When we complained, ASC replied they sent notice to us on July 17, 2006 which we never received and we demanded proof of notice they delivered to us but they refused it and failed to prove they gave us notice.
4.Unilateral deduction from Mortgage payment and started to charge late fee. Despite we paid full amount of monthly mortgage payments every month in time without any skip, ASC took the gauging insurance premium away from our mortgage payment unilaterally and did not applied our payments to monthly mortgage payment and started to charge late fee. THIS WILFULL EXPLOITATION IS HURTING CONSUMER AND MUST BE STOPPED. Despite of our complaints in the past a year to correct it, they are keep charging late fee and harassing to foreclose. THIS MUST BE STOPPED. PLEASE HELP TO PROTECT THE CONSUMERS. THIS IS WILFULL AND DELIBERATE EXPLOITATION BY GAUGING INSURANCE PREMIUM.
5.Retroactive insurance premium charge should be stopped – if not illegal it is wilful exploitation. OUR INSURANCE POLICY COVERAGE DATE WAS AUGUST 2006. ASC'S LENDER PLACEMENT INSURANCE BINDING AND NOTICE DATE WAS OCTOBER 2, 2006. NONTHELESS, ASC CHARGED RETROACTIVELY FROM JUNE 2006
6.ASC confessed it was their error not able to notify to us as ASC audit team discovered later there is no hazard insurance on our mortgage after they purchased the loan from Ohio Savings bank, this facts were confirmed by ASC employees “Miss SHANE, and Miss ALICIA both working in Frederick, MD office.
7.Despite of all above, not only there was no fire on my house during the lapse period but also WE NEVER MAKE ANY ERROR ON OUR SIDE for that short lapse, in fact it was their error as they confessed. Therefore it is very natural to grant courtesy and grace period for that short lapse, but ASC refused which proves that their practices are WILFULL EXPLOITATION, TRAP, AND PREDATORY TO HARM CONSUMER to profit themselves.

We are very very frustrated as they continue to refuse to correct it for the past year and giving us painful ordeal.

Please kindly help us let them stop this kind of ASC/Wells Fargo Bank's willful and exploitative practices as I believe this is their pattern of consumer exploitation not only us but others as well.

Sincerely yours,

Hy & Rosemaire Cho

I ma in the same boat; after a six-week lapse in coverage; Wells went ahead & retroactively charged us an astounding $675.00 (our annual policy which includes personal coverage as well is $1191.00. I spoke with 3 people at Wells including a supervisor and a manager and told them I will refi this note elsewhere unless they waive or reduce this preposterous charge. I have never heard of anyone retroactively charging for insurance gaps, and I will be taking them to court, as the amount is totally unjustified & abusive. Wells Fargo will also lose us as a customer for the remainder of our lives. They simply do not care that these myopic decisions affect their bottom line.

This bank stole over $800.00 of my money right out of my account!!! They claim that because my step son's account got overdrawn that they can simply reach into my account and get the money. My step son is an adult and I have no influence on him or access to his account. They claimed that they can do this because I had my wife in my account and my wife had...
