Wells Fargo they tried to take our home.

Wells Fargo Home Mortgage is a joke. In October 2010 I received a phone call from Wells Fargo stating that we were 4 months behind on our mortgage payments. I explained to them that I had made every monthly payment like always and was confused as to how this was. I was told that there was not enough money in my escrow to cover my taxes and insurance so they "Did me a favor" and paid them for me. I was then told that the last 4 monthly payments had been taken to repay my debt to them for paying my taxes and insurance. So in short every month that I thought I was paying my mortgage they were actually taking it to pay themselves back for them "doing me a favor". I told them I wanted to keep my house and asked what I needed to do to make that happen. They asked me for my financial information so they could set me up on some sort of repayment plan. I went through this several times and was told that there was no help available. I told them I could send them $1, 500.00 and they told me that would stop the foreclosure and I could pay the rest before the next mortgage payment was due the following month. I sent them the $1, 500.00 via my bank and was under the impression the everything was fine and that I had enough time to pay the rest off before the deadline. On November 8th I received a letter from an Attorney stating that my house was in foreclosure. I called Wells Fargo and was told that the money I sent them was sent back to the bank because they would not accept partial payments. I was then instructed to call the Attorney. The original amount I was told I owed them was $2, 169.00. When I called the Attorney I was told that I now owed $3, 200.18 because of Attorney fees, late charges, inspections, etc. I was told this amount was good until November 15th. On November 13th paperwork was filed with the court and the amount rose to $3, 928.08. I feel like I have been bent over and screwed hard. I sent the Attorney the money to have all of this taken care of, but I am now very nervous after reading all the horror stories on here as to what will really happen with the money that I sent the Attorney. I am told that I will receive a letter from the court stating that the foreclosure has been dismissed and everything will be back on track, but for how long? The scary part about all of this is that this is not the first time we have had issues with Wells Fargo. We would love to refinance, but because of all the trouble we have had with them our credit score is in the toilet. My only question is how many more times are we going to have to deal with this crap?

Wells Fargo harassing phone calls

I have been a credit card customer for 12 years, pay every bill on time and never late, never hold a balance, charge about $12000 annually and pay in full every month. Last month only used $10 and apparently the bill never arrived, so I'm late 1 week. Wells Fargo calls me up while I'm driving, insists to collect over the phone (blocked ID, fraud risk), and also driving risk. I told them to send me duplicate of the bill and I'd pay immediately. The a-hole on the phone told me that I'm damaging my credit by delaying the $10 a few days. I called 1 hr later to speak to a weasel of a supervisor named Derek, and he was as bad as the first ###, refused to repudiate anything the other guy did (including trying to collect part of the bill that isn't due 'til next month), I told him either I want an apology or I'm canceling the card. The weasel Derek said no problem. The card is canceled. I will never use WF again for anything. I have about 9 more decent cards to choose from. I hope they are bankrupt soon. Hope the corporate management might see this story and figure out what kind of a-holes they have over there, chasing away good (excellent) customers.

I have had a credit card with Wells Fargo for 10 years. This afternoon I used my Wells Fargo Visa and was told it was declined. It was very embarrassing since I had about 10 people in line staring at me. I used another card and scuttled out of the store as quick as I could. I went home and called Wells Fargo because I knew I had a zero balance since I pay my entire balance every month and I had just paid my balance. It turns out I accidently overpaid, so they blocked my card. No phone call or anything reasonable like that. Just blocked it and figured I would call them when I tried to use it. Great policy Wells Fargo, embarrass long term customers instead of calling them and tell them they OVERPAID!

Ridiculous. I am cancelling my card.

Wells Fargo is a sorry banking institution...I too have been a long time customer...and I can't wait to get rid of them permanently...they send me a statement all right on my vehicle...with the due date but it never says how long the grace period is...normally 10days for competent banks..I've asked the bank clerks here in Cedar Park Tx.. about the grace period but they don't know either...so sometimes I get hit with a late fee and sometimes I don't..I never pay more than 10 days past the due date... and only twice because I don't want the extra charges...as well if you finance anything with them they will charge you every cent of the contracts interest..pay early...you get no interest reduction... pay extra towards the principle they reduce your next payment...my son also deals with Wells Fargo...and his opinion is about the same...this is a sorry bank...

Wells Fargo not releasing funds for contractor

I am a roofing contractor in Wichita KS. I replaced 2 roofs 6 - 8 weeks ago on Wells Fargo mortgage customers. We sent Wells Fargo everything that they said they needed to release the insurance money to their customer for them to pay me. But every week or 2 just when I am expecting to receive the money they come up with something ridiculous that they say they need or they can't locate a piece of paperwork that I sent them previously. They are currently holding about $25000.00 of MY MONEY and I am at my wits end and really ticked off. I have already paid for the materials and labor for these jobs. And I currently have 4 more customer's roofs to build who also have their morgage with Wells Fargo! So, Wells Fargo will be in complete control of that money for 2-3 months as well. Can anyone reading this afford not to be paid for 2-3 months? Is there not a government agency that can help or some type of legal action that can be taken against these crooks?! The reason they are holding the money is very simple.. they are making millions of dollars in interest on hardworking contractor's incomes. I have an account with Wells Fargo that I will be closing now. I recommend that no one do business with this company.

WF is pretty clear about how they release funds...if you are doing insurance work it is regulated by the state. They release some upfront and the rest when the project is completed AND inspected. By them and the building code department ( may not be the right department but you know what I mean) . AFTER inspection is done and the work is completed they will release the rest of the funds. There is several different departments that have to approve the releasing of the funds and that is to protect the homeowner from being scammed. Also they usually NEVER release the money to the homeowner because they are afraid of the homeowner taking off with it and not paying the contractor.

Wells Fargo fraud

Ditto all the complaints about Wells Fargo. Loss Mitigation. Loan Modification. Will anyone that has had success in this company please post . I know this is a complaint site but, what is the point of Well's Fargo expanding their Loss Mitigation Department to meet increasing demands when they are not even meeting any demands?

My wife and I have been working with WF Loss Mitigation Dept. in an attempt to save our home. We started the process back in 11/09 was told that we needed to provide all the documentation they needed - and we did so. After about a month we received the foreberance paperwork indicating they were reducing our payments for 4 months with a huge ballon payment due on the 5th month. Prior to signing the foreberance agreement, I called WF who we received the paperwork from and explained that if I did not get a job during the 4 month period - ther would be no way we could make the payment. I was told not to be concerned since I would be hearing from the HAMP investigator by the 3rd or 4th month and they would come to our home to evaluate and assist us through the process. Well, we did everything they asked for - resent an updated hardship letter and financial worksheet during the 3rd month. The ballon payment was due in April and since we had not heard from the HAMP investigator or anyone else - I then contacted them to find out where the HAMP investigator was. This is when the song they were singing in the beginning changed dramatically. I was told there would be no HAMP investigator and they were sorry that someone told us that - and that since we defaulted on the forberance agreement by not making the ballon payment that was due in April (I and my wife are both unemployed) the only thing we could do is resubmit all the paperwork and then they would see if we quilfy for the HAMP program - still waiting to here from the loss mitigation department about our resubmitted paperwork. I have contacted them every week to make sure they have all the information they need, but the phone numbers with the 10 digit extension don't work and you can not get in touch with anyone half the time. I did get a letter from Wells Fargo Home Mortgage letting us know they would be forclosing on our home within 30 - 90 days. So they maybe their answer.

As for the employee who had the guts to blame the problems on the customer - well all I can say to him - go to hell, you are a horrible employee if you believe all you wrote and you should look for another job if you don't want to help people and believe it is all their fault. Things are the way they are because of people/employees just like him. Young and stupid no doubt.

Will keep this updated as we get info from Wells Fargo.

My mother sold a house;however, left it in her name until the loan was paid off. 10 years later, the homeowner died and WFB started calling me(as my mom also passed). I tried working with WFB Loss Mitigation...it was bull ###. I was told more different strories by so many different people, I could never figure out what to do. Finally, I was accepted into Loss Mitigation- I sent them check(s) for $1, 070.00. They retruned the checks because I sent them Money Grams(which they do not accept). After I found that out I had them debit my Regions Bank account. Later, they said my payment was late...they are full of ### and and I got an attorney involved. WFB Loss Mitigatation sucks...I talked to so many different peoople and everyone had a different opinion at WFB. I almost had a nervous breakdown. Now WFB has a 27 page inditment filed in Circuit Court. WFB should be ashamed of how we have been treated. I wish we could file a Class action suit. My house is only worth 10, 000 dollars, as a tree feel on it because WFB gave me crappy insurance. I live worse than I ever lived in my life! I will save my mom's house...period! I WILL win!

I Think Wells Fargo "Gets Off" throwing people under the buss intentionally. I have a friend here in Florida who's time table almost exactly matches your. NOW she's being offered a "Loss MItigation" option, at a fee of course, So that when the forclosure goes through in a few weeks (and it cant be stopped) she won't loose as much money. I've read dozens of these situations concerning Wells Fargo and I can't understand why this is allowed or can even happen.

I completed my application for a loan modification in October. With each letter and call to Wells Fargo I told them, "Call me if you need anything else." They never called but when I called them to see what was happening, they said they needed something else (except that the time before they said they had everything they needed). In November they told me I couldn't make partial payments, so i didn't. In January they called and said I had to make a payment or I would be in default. They also said I had to resubmit my paperwork because it was now more than 60 days old. I resubmitted my paperwork but decided not to make January's payment (I was told by my Wells Fargo representative that loans in default were given priority). I'm now in default, my credit has been trashed, and my Wells Fargo representative has stopped returning my calls. What really puzzles me is that Wells Fargo was able to approve my original loan from application to funding in 10 days. So why have 4 months passed and I still can't get a decision from them one way or the other. It seems pretty obvious that Obama's bailout money went to pad Wells Fargo's executive's pockets and not to homeowner's like me who really need the help. Shame on you Wells Fargo. If anyone know of a class action lawsuit, I'd love to join it.

Most of the banks and mortgage companies will not try and help you save your home.
If you want great honest help, go to www.naca.com. This is a reputable nonprofit
organization that is widely recognized for helping millions of people save their home without any cost to the consumer. BELIEVE ME, THIS IS REAL! THEY HELPED ME
and OTHERS I KNOW. Because of the recent widespread publicity on the organizations
success in helping so many individuals, you have to be patient through the process, but it
is well worth it.

Wells Fargo online bill pay

I was a long time customer of Wachovia Bank. The most important feature was my flawless online banking experience. As I learn now they were a rare find. You entered your bills to be paid by the date you needed them paid. This kept you from having to guess as to when your payment would leave your account and when the money would make it to the payee. If a paper check needed to be mailed, Wachovia gave you an estimate as to when the payment would be received by the payee. Most important, the money did not leave your account until the check was presented to the bank for payment. The accuracy in which they had the timing was unbelievable. I never had a payee get a mailed check before the payment date I entered.

Now with Wells Fargo, not only do they not get the check in a timely manner; but they can barely get my electronic payments out on time. Why does it take so much longer for payments to reach billers opposed to my old bank? I am just another loyal Wachovia customer looking for a better bank to call home. This is another example of a company buying out a business and failing to do their home work. They should have taken the best of both banks and built one better bank. Instead they just made one big flawed Wells Fargo.

Thanks for letting me vent

I loved paying by bills on line with Wachovia. What computer programer ### came up with the extremely unfriendly bill pay system for Wells Fargo? I hate it! And, I couldn't get a straight answer from the "customer representative" as to when are funds subtracted from my account and when does a payee get paid? It is a nightmare! I have so many accounts with Wells Fargo, but I am going to start closing them out as fast as practicable for me (with direct deposits, etc, etc.). What a nightmare!

If Wells Fargo intends, as they say, to make sure that money is available in your account when an online billpay check they send eventually clears, they could put a hold on the money. They know how. They do it with credit card authorizations and the like.

But obviously their intention is to get free use of your money into their float. I call it stealing.

That is why my account will be closed before the end of this month.

It used to be that people had a bad opinion of used car salesmen. Bankers and the thieves on Wall Street take top rating now. I'd trust a used car salesman with my money a lot faster than I would anyone in the banking and financial industry.

By the way - when I told the officer at Wells Fargo why I was closing my account, she said go ahead - she did not care.

I too have just read the Wells Fargo online billing policy, where they state that money that I send to payees is deducted on the "send" date, rather than the "pay" date. Can someone explain how this can be legal? If the bill hasn't been "paid", where is the money that was deducted on the "send" date - 5 days earlier. Example: You get paid via electronic deposit on the 28th of the month. Your mortgage is due on the 30th. Under Wells Fargo, you will be late on the mortgage payment, because you can't send it 5 days earlier, like you could with Wachovia, because they will deduct the payment when you send it, not when your mortgage company receives it. So where is all the money (from hundreds of thousands of customers) that apparently is taken from the account when they "send" it? Do they physically take it from your account and mail it? Obviously not. This is just another example of a big bank out of control. Given all the complaints I've read about Wells Fargo, I'm looking for another bank.

They suppress anything that interferes with them stealing your money. Credits are held 3-5 average, Payments are deducted and held to overdraw the account. Deposits appear to be credited to the account through the online system. However, if you go to the atm machine this is where things get interesting. You must create a record keeping trail that covers ATM printouts daily, Online Printouts every 6 hours and this includes everything from deposits, withdrawals, checks, bills paid, transfers, etc. Nevertheless, you are leaving so that is good. Do not bank online because it is one other way for them to steal your time and confuse. Old fashioned way ledger is the best and keep your balance in the bank low and manageable. If you can stay away from direct deposit because that only helps the employer not have to pay bank fees for the business. Deposit cash when you can and print out the atm receipts and ask for a small account summary from the clerk regularly and start protecting yourself. I will handle wells fargo after I take care of this investigation and suit of this other bank that has been almost 3 years of work... for fraud... All the best..

Wells Fargo auto loans

Wells Fargo's underhanded business dealing are not limited to Home Loans/Mortgages. I was unfortunate enough to not only have my primary checking and savings accounts through Wells Fargo, but my Auto Loan as well.
Like many others I was caught in this trap when Wells Fargo bought out Wachovia. While dealing with Wachovia for several years before the take over I had no problems with either my online banking or the Auto Loan. On the rare occasions a mistake was discovered the customer service people at Wachovia were always courteous and helpful. After the take over I closed my banking accounts upon discovering that I was being charged NSF charges on debits drawn on my automatic payroll deposit which was held for 2 weeks or longer on every deposit leaving me constantly in debt. Unfortunately I was unable to transfer the car loan. Last spring due to an unauthorized payment by an outside party drawn on my private checking account, my auto payment was returned. I was unaware of this until notified by the bank several weeks after the event. On investigating, the problem was located, and shortly after I was contacted by Wells Fargo via USPS and they were made aware of the situation. As my next payment was now due I attempted to go on-line as I had always done but was unable to complete the transaction as I was now "locked out". Without an address to send the payment to I was now 2 months in arrears! This has been a constant nightmare of trying to "catch up" for almost 1/2 a year. Yesterday my 2004 Dodge Durango was taken from my home along with my camera, my medications, my purse containing close to $400.00 in cash, credit cards, debit card, checks and other banking information, my social security card, etc. leaving me financially destitute and with out my prescription medication which I am unable to replace over the weekend. This occurred AFTER I had made a payment in the required loan amount of $460.10 3 days prior as per an agreement made via telephone the proceeding week! I have been deceived and lied to by these people who I have since discovered receive a commission on any money paid. I have been promised extensions, refinancing options, discontinuation of collection proceedings... anything to get more money from me! I have been constantly harassed to point where I hate speaking to these obnoxious people as it just seems to go no where other the making me angry and frustrated. I am constantly called at work even though I have stated it is placing my job in jeopardy. A pox on Wells Fargo and it's lying, deceitful minions! If anyone out there is considering a class action suite against these shysters please count me in!

In follow up I did finally receive my check from them on Dec 18. They were Paid in full on Nov 4, released the lean on Nov 19, mailed a check that was lost in the mail. I will never do banking with them again. Wells Fargo Dealer services, in my opinion, with held my check for a month only to collect interest. Hope they don't "lose" your check. Good luck.

Had a similar experience with holding of funds by WFDS. I accidently paid my loan payment twice in one month. Just try getting money back from these thieves. I've had my own personal bank involved and they said they've never seen anything like this. I started requesting a refund on November 29, 2010. Twice they've told me "the fax request has not been received" even though I have a verification from my bank that the request was sent. I'm now filing a complaint with the New York State Attorney General's Office. If you've had a similar problem, I suggest you do the same with your Attorney General. You're right - it's wrong.

12/6/2010--
I feel that Wells Fargo Dealer Services, WFDS, is willfully withholding due funds in excess of $520.00 following overpayment after the sale of my vehicle.
My vehicle loan was paid in full and received by WFDS on 11/04/2010 after overnight mailing of payment to WFDS. The excess payment of $528.oo was said to be sent out when WFDS would release the title. The release of the title did not occur till 11/19/2010. With the overage check to be mailed the following day, Saturday 11/20. The check was not mailed till the following Friday 11/26. The reason this time was due to the refund needing approval because it was in "excess of 500". I consider this an obvious stalling technique. The check was supposedly mailed on Friday 11/26 and has yet to be received through late Monday 12/06. With my last contact with WFDS @ 16:13 12/06 revealing a new check could be issued but not until 30 days have passed. In my mind I consider this extreme incompetence at best or possibly a fraudulent scam to withhold due funds. WFDS refuses to do wire transfers into my personal bank or to local Wells Fargo banks. They have not been receptive to providing me with any sort of tracking. This is not right.

I can relate to your pain and dilemma. My 2006 Sonata was repossessed from my home on Septemeber 11, 2010 and it was because of a payment that was asked to be placed at the back of the schedule since 2008. I am a teacher and we get paid on a schedule. Was awaiting my payment to make the September payment and next I know... the car is gone. I talked with them to get my car back for a while, but was told by several others to use my money wisely and go elsewhere because of their devious actions. I would probably pay and not get my car back. So, I took their advice and went elsewhere to get another car. Yes, they are very deceptive. Never will I deal with Wells Fargo again. ***And yes all payments had been made each month. I was not behind on a payment, just a few days late on the September one.

Wells Fargo scam loan modification program

Never never never trust wells fargo when they tell you they can help you with a loan modification for your home loan. I have been wasting my time for 1 full year giving information over and over and over to multiple different customer service reps, loan modification specialists, and underwriters that I think I am going to lose my mind. But what i'm really losing in the end, because I trusted the idiots at wells fargo, is my home. I too was put on a trial payment period while my financial information was being considered for a loan modification. I paid the amount specified for 3 months with no late payments as instructed by wells fargo. The 3 months went by and I continued paying the modified amount for a few months after that. Then I finally got a letter from them stating I was not approved for their loan modification but that they had other "programs" that I might qualify for. I then received a letter from a foreclosure lawyer stating that wells fargo had turned my loan over for foreclosure and that they were demanding the past due amount of the difference between my original loan payment and the modified amount that they told me to pay! That was three months ago and we are still submitting documentation to wells fargo for consideration and our house is due to foreclose soon. I am even getting the run-around from the lawyers office in trying to get information from them. It is a complete nightmare. Moral of the story is - never trust wells fargo - they lie!

They say Wells Fargo is America's #1 Large Bank for Customer Satisfaction (2010). Wells Fargo belies its name. We, a very small company, were one of the merchants of Wells Fargo Merchant Services, LLC. Wells Fargo has been putting $49, 533.22 on hold since August, 2008 for the reason that there was one chargeback in the amount of $345.00 that one of our customers had paid by credit card. The amount of $49, 533.22 was the fund accumulated from our sales of nutritional products to our customers. There was no other chargeback after that. In order to get the fund released, we have sent many letters and documents (Wells Fargo requested) to Wells Fargo Merchant Services, LLC, but not a single reply has been sent to us so far. In the meantime, we had to shut down our business due to the lack of operating fund. Well, we think it's high time that Wells Fargo change its name. From Wells to Ills.

I had not used the merchant account but once in 2 years. This account was a conversion from a previous account & no contract was ever signed or given to me. 14 months after the transaction, Wells Fargo started hitting an inactive bank account (Fifth Third Bank)for $25 that I was closing the next week. I received an OD notice from 53 bank. I called & Fifth Third would not help. The next month I got hit again & I went in person to 53. They finally told me it was Wells Fargo. I contacted Wells Fargo & was told about the cancellation fee. I asked that a copy of the contract be sent to me. Never got the contract so I called again. I was told it was a "virtual" contract. The next month I got hit again but 53 bank charged me another $37 for refusing the transaction. I called Wells Fargo again & was told the "contract" would be cancelled & I would receive no more charges and my fees would be refunded. Fifth Third bank would not close my checking account until I paid off a $650 note with them. Yesterday, I received another $37 charge from 53 because Wells Fargo hit the account for $.20. Yes $.20. opened another envelope & it was from Wells fargo Merchant Services wth collection demand for $175.20.

Wells Fargo overdraft fee

This isn't my first time writing a negative review for Wachovia / Wells Fargo and if I don't take my business elsewhere and soon I doubt it will by my last.

This afternoon I attempted to use my debit card and was told that it had been declined. Confused, I called Wachovia for a balance total and was first appalled that my account was in the negative; -$122.07 to be exact. The overdraft protection law went into effect on August 16, 2010 and I declined the "protection". Why was my account negative?

I entered the prompt to listen to the deposits made only to discover that I had not had a direct deposit from work in nearly 3 weeks. I immediately disconnected with Wachovia and called my place of employment only to be told that there had been a glitch in their system, the funds had been released today and would deposit tomorrow.

The instant that I arrived home I logged onto Wachovia's website and was horrified: $105 of the -$122.07 balance was in overdraft fees; as I mentioned above I declined overdraft protection. I again called and was connected to their CS department who did nothing but a song and a dance. On Wednesday I made a $5.07 in-store purchase that went through though I had $5 in my account at the time. The $105 in overdraft fees was a result of a hold on the 7 CENTS. I argued that the card should have been declined and that I wanted the fees refunded. No can do. "Would you want your mortgage payment to be declined because of a couple cents?" was the representive's reply. Yes, I would. I could run to the bank and make a 7 CENT deposit instead of paying $105 for an occurrence that should have never happened to begin with.

I cannot stress this point enough: if you are in the market for a bank steer clear of this one. Consult your local credit union instead. These major banks will do anything and everything to squeeze every last cent out of you.

Wells Fargo rude customer service agent

I called to inquire about a charge that was on my account. Apparently from what the CSR told me, anytime you have an overdraft on your account and you have overdraft protection Wells Fargo will charge you $10.00; even when they Transfer money on your ways2save account. That’s all fine and dandy; the $10 was not the issue. It was the attitude the CSR agent gave me when I inquired. She said and I quote "This is NOT Wachovia, this is Wells Fargo". So after I unleashed the "Dragon" on her I made it abundantly clear that I will discontinue my account there. The last thing you want to do is be a rude CSR and expect me to continue my services there. The famous quote says “you NEVER get a 2nd chance to make a 1ST impression." So Wells Fargo you can go F**K yourself with a cactus!

Sincerely
Loyal Wachovia Customer since 2000

Wells Fargo pay off problems

I have been trying to pay off my loan through Wells Fargo Dealer's Services. They first gave me wrong pay off balance online and after I submitted it, they sent additional charges saying the payment was late. After I attempted contacting them to discuss this charges, they said their supervisors were busy and they would not be able to talk to me. I ended up having to pay extra charges. I will never use Wells Fargo again. NO MORE BAIL OUTS!

DO NOT EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! I am in the process of paying off car loan. Sent cashiers check to the address I was told to. USPS sent confirmation that they received this overnighted check on Mondsy.. They SAY they have not received it and today is Wednesday. I have been calling them now for 3 days trying to find out where is my cashiers check, every time you speak with customer service you get a different story, Have automatic payment due tomorrow. Had my LOCAL put a stop payment on the withdrawal by them as I am not paying again for something that is supposed to be paid off and them have to wait over a month to get my money back (imagine what i would go through for that). This company lies and lies and lies. Never do any business with this bank regardless of what interest they offer, Not worth it in the end. Have a feeling I am going to end up at the Massachusetts Attorney Generals office with this or at an attorneys suing their pants off.

Did Wells Fargo get bailed out by our money in 2007 to 2010? If so, what was the name of the legislation? Was it TARP? I see their stock rode out the US Depression II quite well for the past 10 years with only a temporary crash in early 2009. It fell from about $35 in 2007 all the way to $8. In Mid 2009 to mid 2010 it rallied all the way back up. It probably rallied back up to pre-2007 economic crash due to the bailout we gave this corporation. Anybody know?

I attached a photo of a money counterfit detector product. I'm trying to see if it works on a WFC stock certificate or dividend check issued by Wells Fargo, so if anybody holds stock on WFC, let me know: I'll try to test it. Please respond to my questions.

Wells Fargo overdraft fees

I made a deposit for $10, 000 at a Wells Fargo Bank at 5:00 PM on Sept 30 - a weekday. There were checks that came through on my account at midnight of the same day. They paid all of the checks but the bank charged me almost $1, 000 in overdraft fees saying that my deosit was past their cut off time. I have requested a copy of my deposit receipt at least 5 times and each time they send me a copy of my check - which has absolutely no stamping of any kind on the front or the back. There is no record on the check that it even went through Wells Fargo Bank. My deposit was made at the actual bank and not at one of the grocery store branches. To this date I have not been able to resolve this issue.

I have had a checking account at Wells Fargo for almost 3yrs and have paid over $1, 000 in overdraft fees that I thought were very suspicious.
I complained several times because I knew I had money to cover transactions as indicated on my online account.I was told that items came in that caused the overdraft of several transactions. Can you justify paying $25 to $30 for a soft drink or burger?Wells Fargo provided info on pending class action suit in California. That is how I found out about scam involving the deletion & rearrangement of charges from largest to smallest amounts.

I can be contacted at artguti@hotmail.com if you require more info.

I recently made a mistake on my checking account, and forgot about an automatic payment which came through last, out of 5 charges. The auto payment was paid first, and my last 4 charges were then charged overdraft fees. I began to do some checking, and I discoverved that all charges go through from largest to smallest, thus causing more overdraft fees when one item doesn't clear. This type of "accounting' only effects those of us who live paycheck to paycheck, and those of us who are on a fixed income like seniors and those on SSDI, and those who have recently been laid off, the poorest of the population.

I also discovered that on the actual written statements the charges are in proper order, different from what you would see on the online statement. The reason for this may be that mail fraud is more severe then internet fraud. The bank may be covering it's own butt. (that's just my guess) Also it would make their questionable accounting practices harder to detect by those who are afraid to do their banking online, (ie. seniors).

I'm looking for people interested in a class action suit. It was our tax money that just recently bailed out their sorry butts, and now they are using our overdraft fees to pay us back. I have started a campain to get the word out. I have started writing business magazine reporters, and reporters of local newspapers. I have emailed CNN News, and others. I need help telling as many people as possible. I NEED your help! start gathering evidence from your own accounts. Make copies of your online statements. Save your monthly bank statements. Write to your congressmen and demand an investigation.

We are in a time when the banks no longer have Republican freinds in high places, and banks are under serious scrutiny. We can win this and get our money back, if we just stand up and fight. If you won't do it for yourselves do it for the 1, 000's of unsuspecting seniors living off their monthly SS checks.

You can email me at smallbiziowa@gmail.com

I had enought money in my account to cover all of my checks etc. Come to find out Wells Fargo puts a 2.50 non atm Wells fargo fee through which makes me overdrawn by 1.30. Never had this fee before in my life with the 4-5 years I have been banking with wells fargo and now they are telling me that this is their policy. They charged me 35.00 in fees and told me that they can only credit back half, because it is not their fault. Very poor customer service. Nobody at wells fargo 800 number wants to help anyone. I went to their corporate office in San Francisco and I am waiting for a responce back from them now.

I run a small business in San Marino, CA. I was charged 9 overdraft fee for $315 by Wells Fargo on 3/11/2010. The next day, I was charged 10 overdraft fee for $350 by Wells Fargo again, with 3 checks bounced.

Wells Fargo has announced to the world that they will not charge more than four overdrafts per day.

It is a lie. They did it to me.

My other question is, how can you bounce my check and still charge me overdraft? Wells Fargo did not bounce the biggest check on that day because if they did, it would bring the account to positive balance. That way they can only charge $35 for each bounced check, not for my other $6 and $15 transactions the have now chaged on.

I went to Wells Fargo San Marino branch. The manager Mr. Wong told me, "If you cannot manage your cash, use Savings acoount for your business, so you cannot write a check. As a customer of Wells Fargo for over 15 years, this is the biggest insult that have ever happened to me.

I told everybody the story and we are closing all the accounts we have. If you happened to have a Wells Fargo account too, please be advised that one day when you are short of cash, they will find the way to MAX your fee. Beside the personal insult against me, The news published by Wells Fargo is a lie. Wells Fargo is NOT honoring the promise. I really do not understand how can a company cheat the public like this.

I used my debit card twice to eat $3.40 and $4.10 on April 12, 2010, on my on lIne checking account it shows pending but the money was reserved by the Wells Fargo to pay these items. On April 14, 2010 I had a balance of 0.91 after the two items were deducted and a check 1184 for $25.00 came through on April 14, 2010. On April 15, 2010 my Payroll check went through, so I was expecting to be hit with one $35.00 overdraft fee, but no that wasn't the case I got hit with three $35.00. I called Wells fargo and they explained to me that they took the check for $25.00 than the other two items. that made no sense to me seeing that the other items were pruchased on the 12th. Her explaintation to me that they were waiting for the store receipts, but the money was reserved to pay so they should have taken the small items first. I got no where with her. I'm a single parent. I live on a tight budget as it is and for Wells fargo to have this type of Business practices is very questionable. Can you help? I hope I have the right link to file a complaint. Thank You

I just got off the phone with Wells Fargo. They have sent out a notice that they will be instituting the ability to "opt out" of overdraft protection. Over the past year they have soaked me for about $1200 in overdraft fees, so I want to opt out now. The Customer Service Rep Supervisor tells me that there is no way to "opt out" now, the software that does this never allowed for this to happen and you are stuck until the new software is installed for the August 13th roll out.

This tells me that Wells Fargo intentionally built their overdraft software to opt everyone in. The consumer never had the chance to decide whether they wanted to be charged for this service.

Time to look for another bank, preferably a Credit Union.

I'm with you my friend. This has happened to me just recently. They back dated a check, that caused overdraft notices to the tune of $280.00. Money was deposited on the same day that two other overdraft charges were charged to my account but they said the charges came in at a different time. Bull crap, they came through the same day. I had one charge in the pending list, then it disappeared, then it was entered on my account the next day. What happened to "The money comes out the same day when using your debit card" comment. Hmm! I totally agree with whomever has had this problem that Wells Fargo is using us as a means to repay their debt.

Totally not fair,

You used your debit card so those 2 amounts, $3.40 and $4.10 were pending. Pending DOES NOT mean that money is reserved, it simply means there are debit card transactions out that havent posted. In the mean time a check POSTED for $25 which pulled immediatley and overdrew your account = Overdraft fee number 1. Then the other two amounts tried to pull AFTER you were already overdrawn = overdraft fees number 2 and 3.
Plain and simple...don't overdraft your account. The bank has no control over where you spend your money, how much you spend and when that business will post the payment so stop blaming the bank for your own ignorance.

Wells Fargo unauthorized withdrawal from bank account

I bank at Wells Fargo and had made payments to WFAF over the phone so they had my routing and account numbers. After 3 years of making payments, I became late [over 30 days] on my payment and asked them for an extension due to my moving and incurring extraordinary expenses related to the move. They told me I HAD to make a payment and would not work with me. I got paid on the 1st and on the 2nd they cleaned out my bank account for $821. My payment was only $699 but they took the rest in "interest". Wells Fargo Bank Customer Service could do nothing and said they are allowed to do this! They not only debited my account but they put a "Deposit Hold" on the $821 also so they actually froze $1, 642 until the debit cleared. This made me overdrawn and my RENT check bounced. The bank did pay it but I had to get two loans to cover the lost funds and NSF fees. I then closed my account at WF and WFAF can repo the vehicle. I am done doing business with them! They harass you and the robocalls begin the day after your payment is due. They call all day long! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!

Wells Fargo fees

Wells Fargo is willing to lose a customer over $5. That seems like horrible customer service to me, and I will leave them because of principle. I have been a customer with them for over 8 years, I have a chk, savings, credit card and home loan with Wells Fargo. All that they are going to lose because they will not reverse my full $10 fee, which I feel was due to their error. I am sick of banks and companies charging all these extra little fees that they think people will not care about, knowing full well it all adds up for them. And I don't believe the excuse that they do not have the capability to remove it; then get me someone who does~!

Years ago I purchased stock through AG Edwards. Through a series of acquisitions they became part of Wells Fargo. I learned the hard way the Well Fargo charges not only commission fees but also annual fees for their broker service, regardless of whether you buy or sell stock.

I realized (after the fact) that they had sold off several shares of stock to cover their annual brokerage fees. They claim they told me about this in my quarterly statement but I didn’t recall seeing anything notifying me of fees due. I now have the tax hit from the sell off, residual cash.

I have opted to move my holding over to Fidelity which charges no annual fees. Oh... and wouldn’t you know... yet another fee opportunity for Wells Fargo... They want $95 to process the transfer.

WORD TO THE WISE... DO NOT USE WELLS FARGO FOR brokerage services (unless you want to pay a lot of fees). Also, if you own stock held in Well Fargo Brokerage, consider transferring it to Fidelity unless you just like paying them fees each year.

Where should I began. Well first off credit means nothing to these people, they process every card swipe whether you select debit or credit as a debit. They will bounce checks due to PENDING transactions, that usually don't actually post within 48 hrs. These ###s are quick to post there fees to you account though. I just learned today that if you write out a check to a wells fargo customer to make a depost into that customers account, and you also have an account with wells fargo, they take it upon themselves to debit your account right away, but according to the customer services rep, the check is actually is still in processing. Its (PAR POSTED) I was told. WTF is that? Either its posted or pended, what. Wells Fargo is looking to make money off of fees any way they can. They can give a rats ### about their customers.

I hate all banks. Today, I especially hate Wells Fargo. We have our mortgage with them and a HSA with them. Last year, they offered me a credit card that would earn $ towards the principal on my house. I thought that was a good idea and I set up auto payments for any bills that took Visa.

One of my husband's dumb ### doctors couldn't figure out how to run the debit card that goes with the HSA, so I had to go to the bank to get a cashier's check. When I was at the bank, they said I couldn't take a cashier's check from the savings, but I could open a free checking account with $100. and I could get the casheirs check that way. They said I didn't need to use the checking account, it was free and it would just sit there in case I ever wanted to use it.

Today, I get a statement showing $30 fee taken out of the checking. I called and they put me through to the premiere checking specialist who said the checking is only free if I have a $25K balance. I've never had a $25K balance at Wells Fargo. I asked if that was new because it sat there for months without the charge. He said no, but that the bank took my mortgage into consideration when I opened the checking and he would be happy to transfer it to a free checking if I wanted. I said no, close it right now. He said another $30 monthly fee went through, so I had $40. that he could transfer to my HSA. Whatever, I told him do that.

I will be closing all the accounts there, just sayin. I wish I could move my mortgage away from them, but that isn't an option right now. If it ever becomes an option, I will do it for sure.

Other things Wells Fargo has done in the last few months:
*Starting charging my HSA $3.95/month - it wasn't like that when I opened it.
*We pay the mortgage in broken up payments each week instead of monthly in order to pay it down faster. They hold the money and don't apply it to the principal until the entire payment (PandIandescrow) it in the hold account and then they apply it. Therefore, cheating us out of paying excess amount directly on the principal.

Wells Fargo, as with most big banks but particularly Wells Fargo got into a mess with bad loans, received money for a bailout, and paid it back by charging excessive fees which border on being illegal so to sum it up, they messed up, got bailed out with our tax dollar then paid it back by cheating the very tax payers who bailed them out and the government, beginning with the Bush Administration allows it. What once was considered predatory lending is now within guidelines. Thank you Mr. Shrub!

It amazes me how some people believe that they can actually still use their checks, debits cars etc without balancing first. Good Grief if you write a check for 200 for a bill, then check your account couple of days later to see the 200 still in your account it doesn't mean that you have an extra 200 in cash to spend. It means that the check hasn't gone thru yet! Learn how to balance.

The above posts are correct WELLS FARGO ADVISORS will hammer you with fees and totally drain your account! My broker at WELLS FARGO ADVISORS just laughed at me (LOL) and told me they charge fees now the old days of AG Edwards are history where they didn't charge fees and gave decent interest rates to clients large and small. Of course there is no disclosure of their fees till your a client don't make the mistake of opening account or getting bought out by WELLS FARGO or you too will have your account hit by fees. I travel most and work as a archaeologist and found out the other day they hit me with huge fees had stocks and $400 cash in the account and its close to zero cash.

The $5 fee wells fargo charges a non customer to cash a check wrote from their branch is bull*. It is a transaction that should be illegal. I don't receive anything, not even a piece of candy for my 5 bucks. When a person gives me a paycheck for my labor, the check is supposed to be a receipt for my labor, and redeemable at the bank. in full. If the bank wants to charge a fee for cashing that check, it should be between the account holder and the bank and not me an innocent third party. My labor has already paid for the entire amount of the check, and the bank has no right to stick there hand in the middle, even if I am not their customer. I receive nothing for my 5 bucks. If I refuse to pay the 5 dollars then I cannot be paid for my labor. Wells Fargo should therefore be accountable with the labor board for non payment of my wages...where are the shark lawyers? I am sick of this bank...surely not a people's bank. BTW US Bank cashed the same check without fees or hassle and it was a Wells Fargo check to begin with...

Last August, I was charged $60 per regular account and $40 per IRA account by Wells Fargo because I did not opt for their "Going Green" option of going paperless (online). I marked on my calendar to "go green" in July (today) . When I went to the office, the broker told me that the date of "going green" was June 30 and I missed it, so I would have to pay the $60 per regular account and $40 per IRA account if I wanted to stay with them.
I let loose with "This is F---king ridiculous" and the broker responded with "You will not talk to me in my office that way". She even told me she was going to liquidate my accounts. I think this is in violation of SEC rules, so I hope she does it at her own peril. I called corporate telling them the story, and after giving me some hope that I would be refunded the fees, the customer service girl found that the June 30 date was effective. What a letdown.
I was also told of the $95 transfer fee. Wells Fargo is bad news and should be avoided. They call themselves Wells Fargo Advisors, but try to get advice from them. Advisors is a misnomer. The should be called Wells Fargo Fleecers with Fees. My accounts were involuntarily transferred from Edward Jones to AG Edwards to Wachovia to Wells Fargo. I should have seen the red flags. AVOID WELLS FARGO UNLESS YOU LIKE HAVING YOUR MONEY TAKEN AWAY IN HIGH FEES.

Wells Fargo being told transfer held because no fums and being told another bank was investigating me for fraud

I recently transferred a large payment from one bank to Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo sent me a letter saying the payment was on hold because they had "reason to believe that this payment has not yet cleared the other financial institution." Citibank ahs assured me that they do not transfer funds that are not covered. When I called Wells Fargo, the Customer Service rep said I was going to be investigated by Citibank for Fraud. Boy, was Citibank surprised to discover that Wells Fargo was twlling me this. There is no case of fraud and the the funds were covered in my account. What kind of inancial institution accuses good customers of fraud?

Wells Fargo incompetency in wells fargo freud department

To make a long story short, my mother is being sued for a Wells Fargo Home Equity Loan that was illegally obtain by way of Identity theft.

Wells Fargo sold the loan to Buckeye Retirement Company, but Buckeye insist that my mother should take the responsibility to pay the 80K loan.

I have filed two complaints with Wells Fargo Freud dept. The first complaint I filed in 2004 but it went nowhere because (Incompetent or the staff needs training).

We now have evidence from a “writing expert” that the Wells Faro promissory note was not my mothers signature.

Based on this info, I filed the second complaint. Wells Fargo offered only to remove the loan off of my mothers credit report. In exchange for this action, the bank required that we release any and all claims against Wells Fargo.

In addition, I complained to Controller of Currency (OCC). After 6 month and calling every month for closure, the letter only stated that Wells Fargo offered to remove the load off my mothers credit report.

BTW- Buckeye Retirement Company is still suing my mother.

My mother is an elderly lady and has now exhausted her money with Lawyers fee’s.

Now what!

Wells Fargo unfair lending practices

My daughter sold her house in Fort Myers to a couple who in turn sold their house on Fort Myers beach for $315, 000. The closing date was set, and the loans were pre-approved with appraisals.
Everyone took their houses off the market pending the sale and closing. The week before the closing date, Wachovia/Wells Fargo arbitrarily decided to lower the appraisal of the house on the beach to $260, 000 therefore killing the deal at the last minute and then they did not have to loan the money, and everyone's plans and lives were thrown a giant financial burden.
Now the houses were off the market for months, losing valuable selling time and my daughter was unable to move and get a job. This complete arrogance on the part of Wachovia/Wells, and their determination not to lend any money anyway they can get out of it, is what is contributing to the crumbling housing market in Florida and making people miserable. Wachovia/Well's rediculous "we are with you" ads are an insult to our intelligence and we are on a giant crusade to help people realize that their money would be welcome somewhere else, where the company truly cares about it's customers rather than spouting that phony freinds routine.

Wells Fargo criminal act

Wells Fargo has charged me $1357 for auto insurance. I have auto insurance with State Farm, and Wells Fargo has this information. They did not request another copy of my insurance. They are criminals, and need to be behind bars. Their agents have theatened me with prosecution. For what? They lost my check. I offered a credit card payment until they could find it. the answer was "NO". I have not missed a payment, even though I lost my job due to Oregon's crappy economy budget cutting ways! I am ready to wage war on these people! I asked to lower my car payment until I get a job. The agent said, "No we will not do that". It is time to take these criminals down. I am sending letter to all media, president, governor, trade commission, insurance commissioner. The insurance policy says Wells Fargo Insurance. I guess they DID profit this year. My car is in storage until I can afford to repair it. This is a call for JUSTICE! I am a USA BORN CITIZEN.

You have recourse! Have your State Farm Agent fax Wells Fargo a certificate of insurance for the time period that that you were charged. Wells Fargo is supposed to refund your money. This could be a simple case where the Insurance Company has the wrong mailing address for Wells Fargo.
