i was fired few days ago, wells fargo claimend that i failed to follow procedure when i reversed a fee to wells fargo employee, i was promoted to assistant branch manager and i was told that it was part of my job taking care of customer and treat employees as customers too. i was never sent to managemen traininig, never got the tools to do my job; i was interview by a human resource consultant and she recomended no termination do to she noticed i was not trained correctly and it was not my intention to violate any company policy. after the HR consutant went back to her office, the HR manager decided that i should get terminated anyway.
Few days later my manager called me in to the conference room and with tears in eye gave the news that i was terminated and he said that it was not fair, that theres other people that have done the same or worst but they only got a warning and they still working for wells fargo bank.
I dont understant, not having no management training at all, never had a complaint in my files, never got a warning before and why i was let go! and didnt have the chance like others did.. two of wells fargo branch managers have gave me the advice to hire an attorney and file a complain with the estate labor. i'm not sure what's the best thing to do first.

They pick and choose who they want to fire and who they want to keep. The ones they like, get away with cheating, regarding the referral process. If they have a friend who wants the job, the older employees are out the door, for minor infractions, like not using the proper verbiage or not meeting goals. Wells Fargo wants to only hire young people now. I smell age discrimination...

The managers are definitely picking and choosing who they want to keep and who they want gone. Now that older tellers are the minority, and they want them gone to bring in their 25 yr. old friends and family. My manager's cousin just got a job at a branch down the road. I'll bet she'll have no problem meeting HER goals. They know all the tricks and it's a rigged game.

Now it's the attack on the older employees. They are writing up, or firing older tellers for the same things the "favorites" get away with. The management does an observation on tellers... picks the worst possible customers, to do observations on the tellers they want to pick on. I am supposed to introduce myself, by name to everyone who I see. Sounds really dumb, when your neighbor comes in, you've known for 20 years, and you say "Welcome to wells Fargo, my name is John, and I would be happy to assist you ". I could understand if you don't know the customers, but the ones we do know are starting to complain about the verbiage. They went much happier when I would say, "Hi Scott, nice to see you again, how can I help you today ". The micromanaging is ruining employee morale. They also give "freebies", regarding sales to the employees that they like and write up the ones who can't make their goals, because they didn't get the freebies. Seems they are now attacking older tellers, ones who have six weeks vacation piled up after 20 years. My customers love the way I interact with them. It's a rigged game. Current employees... keep a journal of anything you're getting in trouble for, that the favorites are getting away with... trust me... you may need it, as the managers, all in their 20's, with no life experience, fires you. I haven't seen one new employee hired, over age 40, in the last 15 years! I smell age discrimination...

Two companies applied inaccurate charges to my account. They admitted to making the inaccurate charges. Wells Fargo charged me 133 dollars in fines and basically told me that they would not change the fines because the companies had not contacted them, but then told me the companies couldn't contact them without me doing a three way phone call where the companies were not allowed to speak but only listen. Does this make sense?

Why (in this era of instant electronic/wire tranfers of money), should Wells Fargo tell me that if I want a bill paid on the 10th of the month, they will debit my account five days earlier on the 5th? This is ridiculous! There is absolutely no reason why they should use my money for five days prior to pay out.

I was a customer of Wells Fargo for 22 years. with the recession came a difficult time in paying off credit cards...they drained my business account of every penney without a warning. If you are looking for a bank and are a small business, DO NOT choose Wells Fargo. We have had MANY problems over the years with overcharging, etc. but have been too lazy to change banks...what a mistake!

We were in the bank today and the woman employee with whom we met had on a push up bra with cleavage exposed. Proper modest attire needs to be enforced. Thanks.

Wells Fargo bank is the worst bank there is. I honestly do not know why people is still bank ing with them. I filed chapter 7 bankruptcy and they froze my accounts taking everything. The trustee had nothing to do with it. They didn't even ask if the money was exempt. Now they won't release my money til the trustee tells them too but the trustee didn't tell you to freeze my money. WORST BANK EVER!

Bill Pay customers at Wells Fargo Bank receiving false balances. Say you have a payment(s) being processed today, it will show Paid in the bill pay field but not posted to your account nor shows in pending = false balance. You spend a little more, 2-5 days later it's posted, skips pending, possibly drawing you negative. Cha Ching... WFB is dancing. Customers need to RUN from this establishment.

I have had $150 debited from my checking account, and the only event I can tie back is a phone call from Quicken Loans asking if I'd like to refinance my mortgage. I told them they could conduct and investigation, but I never gave them approval to draw funds from my bank account.

I wrote a check and my account was short by $3.05 (some ATM charge I forgot about). Wells Fargo Bank bounced by check AND charged me $35.00 NSF fee. Talk about GREEDY and will not reverse the $35.00 charge.

Why does Wells Fargo have to call every 15-30 minutes every day even late in the evening. They are just asking questions for more business, and telemarketing. Is there a way to stop this.

My wife was left home for two weeks without a clue as to what was going on. First it was the systems were down, then someone stole from their company. Name the excuse, they had it. She went to work even though her supervisor said "come in but I dont know what will happen". What kind of company does this to their employees? She was finally let go. She contacted her HR rep who supposedly filed a complaint agaisnt her supervisor. Then made her wait two more weeks just to get her last check. Which was PTO (paid time off) approved by her supervisor. Now that she filed for unemployment they are giving her all sorts of problems just so she doesn't receive the unemployment she is eligible for. Notice how her HR rep never mentioned anything wrong. Now that she filed for an appeal they are trying to say she left voluntarily when she didn't. Now they are saying she owes $600 in overpayment for PTO which was already approved by her so called supervisor. Now they are saying we can "reinstate" yout employmet. You see the picture or should I keep on going? DO NOT WORK OR BANK FOR THIS SHADY COMPANY!

Just saw an add sponsored by Wells Fargo on television promoting two mommies. Will never bank you you WF, how dare you cast aside and spit on God's law and how the Bible clearly states this is wrong. May the Lord have mercy on you, for every knee will bow one day and you will be held accountable.

I got fired for opening multiple accounts in january just like our branch manager asked for us to do. A few mo ths later we r fired for disho est accounts not being used while the stupid dm and branch manager enjoy their already paid bonuses from those "shady sales" I was terminated when I had never got there late never complained about anything and in a blink of an eye they fire me to back their ### up. When our manager who forced us to open multiple unneeded accounts would tell us to do so and we didnt he would send us home. Sometimes forcing us to call family and open a third unneeded checking account.

They fire who they want, and keep you if they want. I was with the bank (for the second time) for 10 years. The most ethical and non gaming person there ( probably why I got fired). I was fired for being 1-2 min late occasionally. However my co-worker who was late as much as me or more, even after I got fired, is still there. I call him the "golden boy". Same nationality as our district manager which helps also. Diversity - crap. I am white and I am the minority. All the nationalities stick together. I was odd man out and over 50. Yes, file a claim for wrongful termination. I am

I worked for Wells Fargo for a good months. The first month I was there, got over 16 credits which is way good for the small city we live in. Done everything they wanted me too and more. The training is terrible. I feel like I was set up. I worked a sat morning. The Store Manager sat in drive thru the whole morning. At the end of my shift I go to balance my drawer I'm $2000 short. Ok it wasn't found, store manager left a few minutes before we closed. We called him because of the shortage. No answer! Called him so many times from different numbers. Finally called the Supervisor, she came still no money! I was put on administrative leave for 3 weeks. They automatically took my keys. Ok the investigation was done but they still couldn't tell how the money went missing. But i got fired ! Ok so check this out the next working day, my co worker has the same amount of money missing $2000 and guess what they fired her too! I mean Wells Fargo is a very bad place to work for, bunch of crooks, liars, and thieves !

I was fired from WF for Code of Ethics. I was having a causal conversation with an employee who stated she would use a false bereavement to have some days off. Because I overheard the conversation and did not inform a manager I was outside the code of "ethics" . I did not partake in helping her but because I was "engaged" in the conversation I was at fought. I was just promoted and was suppose to start my new position on the 30th. WF is the worst company! I never had any formal warnings, meet my goals, and was an asset to the company. I contacted HR numerous times and they only stated I could appeal my termination. I would never advised anyone to work for WF. GLAD I'm not the only person who had problems with this company.

I worked there as a temp and the office environment was horrible! I was constantly harassed by my supervisor and no one tried to help me. It was not my fault that she did not know the company procedures and I did! When I tried to show her the procedures and that I was right, she would yell at me and tell me that I made my co workers feel uncomfortable. Why, because I am more educated than them. It was horrible, just to get along with my so call co-workers, I had to pretend like I didn't know things to make them feel better about themselves! Seriously, none of them knew what they were talking about! I know after this, I will never work in a call center again and I thought my time at Time Warner Cable was bad, but they took the cake!
OH, LEAST I NOT FORGET THAT I WAS THREATEN THAT I BETTER NOT TELL ANYONE WHAT SHE WAS DOING AND SAYING TO ME! YOU CAN TELL A LOT ABOUT A COMPANY BY THE PEOPLE IT EMPLOYS!

i worked at wells for 4 years, and was let go after a customer stole money from me.

it seems that everyone is related here in San Diego. The honest, hard working people were always being scrutinized. Especially the people that were extremely good at their job, but didn't kiss butt, or gamed. While the "in-crowd" or family members moved up, by gaming and favoritism.

We recently just closed our accounts after banking with Wells Fargo Bank for over 22 year!
We had never had a deposited check returned and It happened this just this 1 Time. They placed a hold! This occur over a weekend and we came in first thing Monday morning to cover the negative balance and get all nfs checks paid with a cash deposit before noon and the BRANCH MANAGER Jackie GONZALEZ refused to accept our total cash deposit. She would not work with us and just had the checks returned and stated the account was being closed.
SHE WOULD NOT HELP US IN ANYWAY! THIS IS THE SERVICE WE RECEIVED AFTER BEING WITH THE BANK WITH OVER 22 YEARS. WE WENT AHEAD AND CLOSED ALL OF OUR ACCOUNTS-WE HAD OVER 250, 000 IN IRA'S AND ETC... MY CHILDREN ALSO CLOSED THEIR ACCOUNTS WHICH AMOUNTED TO A COMBINED BALANCE OF OVER $25K... DO NOT BANK WITH WELLS FARGO BANK... THEY WILL NOT SERVICE YOU WHAT SO EVER. THEY ARE THERE TO COLLECT FEES AND PUSH YOU OFF...

Are you a mort rep? if yes, must comply. if you are a PB, then it is considered wrongful termination. i'm sure you still qualify for unemployement due to years of service and your record was not an issue until now. Where you a perfomer? Because at Wells Fargo, the rules does not apply to everyone. It is the worst company i have worked for, guess what i still work with them...i guess i will remain a service mgr for the rest of my career because my BG is BADDDDDDDDD! Good luck with you unemployment issue.

I have only been with Wells Fargo for a year and I have had some weird things to happen with my account and overdraft fees. Its seems as though I get charged overdraft fees at least once a month. Then it gets reversed due to an error on the bank how do you explain that. I am in search of a better bank now.

Terminated Yesterday

I agree. I was terminated yesterday. I was meeting my sales goals and i receiving awards and incentive pay, was promoted 3 times. I was making outbound calls to sell debit cards and was getting very good at it. My manager always gave me praise for stepping up for the bank when we were short solutions. Then on 9/15/2010 i was told be a outsider to stop making outbound calls because there was an investigation going on about me giving people debit cards without there consent. Dint think to much of it because it was a lie. I was more shocked that he would not tell me why he left wells but will tell me this. I tried not to think about it. Then yesterday 10/21/2010.i was in the board room with my manager and her manager and an investigator over the phone telling me i ordered debit cards for customers without there consent. I was shocked because i have never done that i have always followed the rules and to lose my job over a debit card stupid. I will not be receiving my incentive WHICH WAS GOING TO BE 1600.00 THE BIGGEST ONE i had ever achieved. This is a bunch of bs. I worked there for 3 yrs I feel like i was put under the bus. something big is going on and they throw me under. i could believe it my desk was right next to my managers and i told her my every sale and we were like best friends. until yesterday i was falsely accused for ordering 5 debit cards to 5 different people in the same region might i add. This is what they told me and they would not give me any proof there was no claim #s. I asked to call these people myself. Nope they had made up there mind. And I agree with you they keep the people that will do anything to meet there sales goals no matter if it falls into gaming issues. The manager is the one who sees it and lets it happen.

I also feel for all of you guys. Wells Fargo loves to fire people. There are people working there that are gamers and dishonest. it seems like they love to let go of the honest people. But when those honest people mess up just once its "see you later". I got let go for accidentally opening an account under my bankers sign on. I told them it was accident however they still said it was against policy. after 4 years one mess up and ur gone wow!.

Man... I am in the exact same boat. I was fired less than a year ago for an online transfer I did for a customer to another customer. I talked to my HR person and it seemed like the decision was already made before I had a chance to explain myself. They said they would do an investigation and a day later, I was terminated (with a few others - I might add). I am seriously looking for lawyers right now because I didn't realize how much it would impact my career until I started looking for jobs. I just felt disrespected! Over 5 yrs of service, no warnings, virtually perfect customer service, always achieve sales goals, promoted multiple times, clean record, and then... BAM!@!@!@! I swear, middle mgmt tells you to do one thing, and when it comes and bites you in the ###, nobody is there to back you up.

I too work at Wells and find that there is a significant lack of training. Our department has little training and I continue to be told that there are things I should know even though it was discussed one time and not put into practice for months or a year plus.
Regardless, on your situation. The company has a policy towards terminations which includes warnings etc. Your employee handbook outlines what the actions are and, in this case the company did not follow their policies and ignored their own practices. The promises in the employee handbook have been considered contracts in some courts as they are promises of what will be delivered and how issues are dealt with by the bank while you work their. Essentially, what they did can and has been construed by some courts as a breach of contract.
