My husband purchased my wedding ring from Zales in 2004 he also purchsed the lifetime diamond warranty. The warranty states that the ring/rings are to be inspected every 6 months, in which we bring them to be inspected and the sheet to be signed. I wear my rings all the time and some how one of the diamonds in the middle of the ring has a crack in it, we brought the ring in to be repaired in December about the 6th, Zales told us that it would take about 6 to 8 weeks to repair, one of the sales rep called us on January 29 and said that the ring was ready for pick up, so I went into the store to pick it up, how ever it was supposed to be sized also, the ring was not sized and they said to come back next friday, when I went back to pick it up I noticed that the cracked diamond still existed and something was wrong with one of the other diamonds, I started complaining to the salesman and he told me that zales was not going to replace the diamond, I said that we took out the lifetime warranty and that the diamond should have been replaced. The salesman then told me to call the customer service number and speak to one of the associates, I called and she told me that zales could send the ring back to Texas to be reviewed again and that would take another 4 to 6 weeks, I said that zales should honor their warranty and should have fixed it the first time. I had the ring sent back a second time, now I am waiting to see what type of red tape that zales will try to put me through this time ! I will not purchase any more jewelery from zales and I will call the BBB and send in a complaint about this.

Hello to you i'm James The Jeweler in Atlanta, Ga and i also have my own educational jewelry discussion group here under "JEWELRY & WATCHES" i read your complaint and i want to inform you and everyone else here again THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A WARRANTY ON YOUR JEWELRY! if any jeweler or jewelry store offers this to you it's to get additional money out of you? these jewelry stores are NOT going to honor any WARRANTIES on their POOR QUALITY JEWELRY. They use this tactic to seal the deal with unsuspecting customers who visit their stores.

I have NEVER OFFERED A WARRANTY ON ANY JEWELRY I SELL because i don't sell, promote, nor advertise POOR QUALITY JEWELRY. I will also tell you that i do believe your diamonds ALREADY HAD THOSE CRACKS IN THEM BEFORE YOU EVEN BOUGHT THAT RING AND SOMETIMES JEWELERS WILL HIDE THESE FLAWS OR DEFECTS BEHIND THE SETTINGS SO THAT A CUSTOMER WILL NOT SEE IT UPON INSPECTION.

Diamonds may be the hardest substance know to man but they CAN BREAK OR CHIP IF HIT THE RIGHT WAY, but you'll have to hit your ring pretty hard to do that though.

It also does not take that long to do any of the things this jewelry store PROCLAIMS they needed time to do, in the future if you're going to visit a jewelry store MAKE SURE IT'S A FULL SERVICE JEWELRY STORE WHERE EVERYTHING IS HANDLED ON PREMISES, IF NOT THEN DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS JEWELRY STORE.

If you have any jewelry questions for me feel free to contact me.
