I had purchased a brand new NOKIA-M70 mobile handset at the following location on 11th March 2007.

WAVETEL - WAVE COMMUNICATIONS
NO.333 SALMA COMPLEX, ARCOT ROAD
KODAMBAKKAM
CHENNAI - 600024
TAMILNADU
CONTACT NUMBERS : 4358 7474
CELL : [protected] / [protected] / [protected] / [protected]

Ever since I bought the handset, I've been experiencing hardship due to very poor battery back-up which forces me to charge the battery almost everyday. My usage is very minimum (hardly 15 to 20 mins per day - including listening to FM). Manual says the talk-time would be at least 3 hrs and standby time as 210 to 250 hrs. But. I had been forced to re-charge every day..

I complained to the shop where I purchased and changed the battery in vain. Since I had been experiencing the same problem almost for the past 15 days, I also doubt the genuineness of battery and I was not able to check it as it was not containing any hologram and the vendor was not providing any satisfactory reply.

At this juncture, I've given my handset on 27.03.2007 to the NOKIA care center at 189, Anna salai, chennai. After 2 days, they were telling that they had sent my handset to Delhi for replacement as the handset was faulty one and it would take min 15 days. Whenever I question for time delay for replacement, I am not getting any response. They refuse to provide stand-by too and not taken my consent for sending it back.

I'm left with no mobile now and due to which I experience greater hardship after having spent Rs.15500 on purchase.

I Strongly agree on this.I bought a Sony Ericsson W350 from Wavetel, West mambalam Branch, Chennai.Within 4 months the phone was completely dead and had issues with keypad. I gave the mobile for service in same place. After 1.5 months the agent from wavetel informed me that the battery has gone bad. HE COLLECTED RS 100 from me stating he has boosted the battery. When i returned home and checked with my warranty card i found S/N of my original mobile battery and the S/N of the battery i had now was different. Within 5 hours of use my phone was dead again. On top of this my mobile was used by the wavetel agents . Guess they forgot to delete thier contacts in my phonebook and also the SMS they had sent using my Mobile phone. I have waited for 1.5 months and have got a mobile which is still unusable. The customer service they provided was very enraging. I am planning to go Legal

seriously... wavetel sucks. i bought a motorola em30 at their showroom in west mambalam, me and my friend purchased same phone, the one i got was faulty and the buttons did not work, purchased the mobile when the shop was about to be closed at 10 pm. next day morning i had to bac ther to report that my mobile is not working. The manager there placed my mobile for DOA(dead on arrival) and assured me that i will get a replacement soon, or he would arrange me another phone from diffrent branch sooner. But none of the promises were kept... i kept walking to that shop everyday that week and had to hear a story everyday!

finaly lost my patience and hhad to shout at those fellows, still i haven received my phone. wavetell people do not care about anything of this. they never called me to let me know about the phone. made me wait alomost everyday at the showroom making a show lik phone is comin in few mins.. finally tellin me it'l cme tomoro...

paid 7k for that mobile and all i carry is a receipt tellin my mobile is gone for service!

these fellows are hopeless... better go for original retailer... even if u hav to shel out extra bucks!

I totaly agree with you on this..

I have a similar experience to share. I bought a Sony ericsson W660i in August from Wavetel, Chrompet and had nothing but continuous trouble with it. The phone kept on hanging for about 5-7 times within the first three days of purchase...! I reported the incident to Wavetel, they master reset the phone and memory card..returned it. Technician by name Babu promised a replacement for any more issues. One month down the lane, phone was dead-not even powering up!
I took it to wavetel again pleaded for replacement or higher model (ready for extra Pay) a..They asked me to check the status in the near by Authorised SONY service centre at Tambaram Sanatorium. I was not ready to take it to any other shop and insisted for replacement from Wavetel itself. Their manager RAM persuaded me telling that we will give you replacement for sure, but then just check the status at the service centre..!

SONY service centre informed that the electronic board has to be replaced..I spent ten minutes in Service centre - got this feedback from them and came back to Wavetel. I informed them the same and submitted the mobile at the shop after signing the bill stating PHONE DEAD.They checked the mobile and asked for 7 days to give replacement...8th day- when i checked with them, Prabhu the manager at WAVETEL (earlier manager has resigned )informed that "NO WARRANTY for you sir-seal on the screw has been altered inside the pack. You would have given to third party service!"
When I asked him about the confirmation from RAM about promises of replacement, he informed 'he has left the company sir..!'

They knew I have returned the phone within the first 5 days of purchase..They simply didn't want to replace it inspite of confirmation from their managers.!If seal was broken then its from either Wavetel technicians or from SONY SERVICE CENTRE who kept the mobile with them from Sep 18 to till date! They never informed me about the same when they checked the phone when I took to Wavetel nor did the SONY Service centre ( Sanatorium) reported anything of that sorts..!Now that its almost twenty days what on earth do they think returning the cell to me after damaging it...?

Who is stupid enough even to think of repairing the mobile in a third party shop after purchasing the cell for 9, 100Rs...?

Its high time that SONY should rethink of taking away business from shops like WAVETEL which are not worth - who just wants first time customers and them turning their backs to them for service of any sorts! Its also high time for people to rethink buying products without quality from manufactorers like SONY ericsson!
