Walgreens customer service

Dont ever sign up for auto-matic refills for your mail order drugs and never leave your credit card on file or it will cost you in the long run. Make the call every three months to make sure your Doctor still wants you to take the medication. I made the mistake of signing up to have two maintenance drugs mailed to me every three months, leaving my credit card on file, and then I called two months before the next shipment and cancelled one of the drugs and then right before the next order was to be filled my Doctor took me off the second drug, and would you believe the CSR never processed my first request, and they mailed me both drugs and hit my account for $130 for drugs I can not use, and they will not take them back and will not provide a refund, even for their error for not processing my first request. Their response is they have no record of my request, but who makes a record of something they did not do, and they will not accept the drugs being retuned to them, even if you do not open the package and return it to them in the same package they sent to you. If there was not a security issue with the package when they sent it, why would there be one when it is returned, and I am the liar for saying I called in the first place. They don't even consider they may have made a mistake, so I pay for their mistake and mine

Walgreens incorrect pricing

Typically the store will print a sale flyer offering a deferred cash back coupon ("Register Rewards") with a purchase of multiple units of a given product. A frequent offer might be five 12 packs of canned soda for a price of $15, and receive a $5 deferred cash back coupon for use on a follow up visit. The sale flyer will list the eligible brands (i.e. 7-up A&W, Canada Dry). The problem lies in that Diet A&W Root Beer will ring up at the sale price, but Diet A&W Cream Soda does not. This has 2 implications…..First the sale price of $15 is not applied, as at least one of the purchased units doesn’t ring up correctly. And second, the deferred cash back coupon also might not print as it doesn’t recognize the purchased product as part of the sale grouping. This can have a major effect on the ultimate cost of the purchase. In my experience, I have had this issue many times. Each time they have had to over-ride my transaction to end up at the ultimate price and coupon offering. Despite this, they make no effort to rectify the problem, and continue to charge unobserving consumers the incorrect price. I have returned at later dates to make additional similar purchases, and the same errors occur. It disgusts me to think how many people are paying more than they’re supposed to. I have witnessed other consumer’s dealing with similar issues.

Walgreens don't understand insurance

My Blue Cross plan is a Health Savings Account. We get $1400/per year/per family. After the $1400 is used up, we pay cash for any doctor visits, lab, RX etc.
I guess the Walgreens was out of the generic blood pressure meds I was prescribed, so they took it upon themselves to give me the equilivent brand name med. Their reasoning was: "I ran it through and it was free!". I explained to them that everything is "free" until I use up my allotment. She couldn't understand it. I told her I did not want the brand name meds, that I wanted generic, and could wait for them to order it. She said "well it's free, so I can't figure out why you want the generic", and slammed the phone down. They keep trying this every month, so instead of having $4 taken out of my health savings account, I get $62 taken out. What a dope, I transferred all my prescriptions to Walmart, which will probably be another messed up situation.

My situation is opposite. The generic version of my medication wasn't approved by FDA. So it wasn't covered by my insurance company while the branded version is covered.

The dope at walgreens filled it with Generic version and made me pay $35+ as opposed to $10 copay. Shouldn't she have had the common sense to check which version is covered and which isn't?

Because I realized this after taking one capsule, they wouldn't exchange or refund.

Walgreens inconsiderate company

I have been working at Walgreens for five and a half years. I have learned every area of the store, except pharmacy. This includes photo, cosmetics, main, sims and have worked the stock room. I constantly watch people get hired in the company one day and then a year later are management. I have busted my ###, not goofing off, listening to mangement, being polite to the customers, etc. When I went for an interview for assistant manager I was told in exact words, "You don't have super star quality." The thing that irks me even more is that my EXA- step below store manager, doesn't even know photo, which is mandatory for all management. How do you know more then even some managers and get turned down? I am not one to complain about much. I haven't ever gone to district and complained about how our store manager belittles everyone in the store, thinking that he is smarter then everyone else. He has very little respect for people in general, including the customers. He has made every woman in our store cry at some point. The sad thing about it, this is the type of people district looks for as management, not kind and considerate people, but people who treat their employees like ###. It's not that I didn't have "super star" quality, it is that I don't have "###" quality. Another thing is they push for the employees to sell the "Item of the Month" so much, that some people have even been threatened to lose their job if they didn't sell more. That is the reason they gave me for not getting a mangement position. I didn't sell enough. They want the employees to pester every single customer that walks through the door. I thought it was a freaking pharmacy not Telemarketing. I didn't know the quality of my worth was based on how much I sell. We have actually had customers complain about being bothered every time they come in, to buy the the Item of the Month. People don't want to be haressed when alot of them are elderly and just coming in to get their perscription filled. All in all, I think Mr. Walgreens would be disappointed to see his family company become just another victim to coperate america. Walgreens used to care about their employees, now they only care about opening stores and sucking people of every dime they have. They look at loyal employees as dispensable, and have even used the economy as a means to scare them into doing things they didn't have to do before. I would not recommend this establishment as a place to work.

If your not black, don't apply at Walgreens. If you are black, apply there and then find the perfect opportunity to sue them.

I work at Walgreens, 1 hour photo, and they are slave drivers. Trying to get as much out of you as they can for $8 an hour. They didn't train me very well, I was rushed through my computer training, ppls, by my store manager. My district manager came to the take care clinic one day and ended up getting sent to the hospital. When I saw the ambulance out there for him I was like "good, hope he's in there for a while." I usually am a nice person and don't think like that but this guy deserved it for putting such stupid asinine expectations on his stores just because we have a recession going on. And why don't I see any black people working at Walgreens? They know that black people won't take their [censor] so they just don't bother to hire them. If a black person is reading this please apply at Walgreens, don't get the job and then proceed to sue them for discrimination. You will be my hero. The problem I have with Walgreens is that they only put 1 person in photo at all times, ALL TIMES. Then when you call for help no one gives a [censor], but your expected to help the front register all the time. Then the photo head gets mad at you when you have too many late orders in the system. It's like they think you can split yourself in half to do every thing. The district manager gets mad when you have too many late orders and NO ONE waits in line at walgreens, so you must always take customers from the front registers. When I am running the photo lab a manager walks by with a cart of [censor] for me to put away. Like I don't have enough to do already. Horrible slave drivers and our district manager is the son of Satin. I have worked at many retail stores, even Walmart, and Walgreens and Lifetouch Photos are the worst.

I'm a Walgreens assistant manager and I totally agree with everyone here. I've been labeled "bad" because I informed my store manager that I didn't want to be a store manager, I wanted to work in the district office. Instead of that being a good thing, I was told that I was wasting a space in the store for someone who could be a store manager. But the funny thing is that they are slowing down the new store opening rate, so they really need people like me until the openings speed up again. Too bad for them. As of today I'm looking for a new job.

Yeah, Harold, it's business but it stinks.

Walgreens is pretty far from a perfect place to work and honestly you could do a lot better than management. I for one do not aspire to the lowly heights of walgreens managment; they don't get paid very well for what they do and you have a 75% chance to end up working for some satan-spawn who believes they're put on earth to be as big a ### as possible...all in the name of the bottom line.

I could go on ALL FREAKING DAY about this kind of crap but it really is everywhere. Even if you did complain to district nothing would be done. I have a few walgreens horror stories I could share but I won't be cause I like my anonymity.

I have two pieces of advice for you:

1) Go to school for a healthcare related job; high demand, often reasonable school requirements, much better pay than walgreens.

2) Take a deep breath before you go into work, put on your best smile and remember that you are better than the people who perpetuate this type of atmosphere at work. Think of your time at walgreens as temporary, the troubles as transitory; make your mantra "this, too, shall pass".

Finally, ask yourself a very important question:

Do you REALLY want to work for someone who says in all seriousness "You don't have super star quality" in reference to a management position making about 12 to 14 an hour...

You're better than that.

business and management are all about the dollar - thats how it is, if you want that position - better get tough cause its like that everywhere.

go try to sell cars and be nice - see how that goes?

or go to best buy and sell electronics - need to push the extended warranties.

its business.

Walgreens neglect/irresposibility

I have used Walgreen's website for the past few years and can log into it with no problem. However, the information states that my doctor must be contacted...etc; which is simply not true. My prescriptions are called in. I did not receive an email that they were ready as before (of which I have previously called concerning the very same complaint of Walgreens neglect and site errors). Calling the Walgreens on Magnolia Dr. in Tallahassee, Florida where I shop, they advise me they are not responsible for website. They must input my information, so this is obviously a falsehood, and the same "excuse" I received from them with my previous call of their neglect from that same pharmacy. I have called the Home Office on the prior complaint for the same problem, and they advised me that the pharmacist must input the information. So I am being referred back and forth. I find Walgreen's website completely useless, as it is never up to date, fails to notify me by email as it used to in the past, as well as failing to take responsibility for "dropping the ball" in that which should be a "seamless" operation. It renders the Walgreen's website totally useless and the staff untrustworthy. After this being the second time I have had to file a complaint with Walgreens and them failing to accept their mistakes and correcting them, as well as rendering the website useless for customer information and sevice, I am trying to find another pharmacist to handle my needs. I am retired now, and use to be a Quality Control Specialist for Dupont, and there is simply no excuse for such nonsense.

Walgreens puts your information in the computer, phone number, address, email address ect. As long as all that is correct, you should be getting emails and phone calls with no problems. We DO NOT have any sort of control on the website at store level at all. You are wrong in assuming we do.

Dear Minus: nobody was talking to you in the first place. They're referring to the original post.

As for the original post, the pharmacist has absolutely nothing to do with the website, and the way you worded everything probably confused the hell out of the corporate office, too. The pharmacist DOES input your info for the store records, but that has absolutely no connection to the website.

The stores generally have nothing to do with the website. Not sure who told you otherwise, but you should know that people at the corporate level rarely have any information about how things actually work day to day at a store level. Their knowledge is all theoretical.

But all that is academic in the face of your mindless idioacy. Neglect? What? When did you suffer neglect? How were you wronged? Because there was a system glitch and the website didn't send your information to the pharmacy like it was supposed to? What do you think you are entitled to here? I hope that if I am able to retire someday that I'll have better things to do than submit baseless complaints in an effort to denigrate a company that hasn't done anything to me.

I'll bet the people at the store you frequent will be glad to see you leave forthe last time.

You sound like an idiot. Whether you have a valid complaint or not is impossible to tell because you try to sound intelligent by putting a bunch of big words together and instead come off as completely confusing.

Believe me I am no defender of Walgreens but the pharmacist does NOT have anything to do with their website and we aren't given any information on how the website works. How about calling in your refills if you find the internet too difficult to use? Or are you too busy writing overly wordy accounts of a really stupid complaint?

Walgreens price gouging

oN 4-6-09 I went to the E.R. for an infection. It was after 9:00 p.m. when I was released so I had to go to Walgreens instead of my pharm. For 30 capsules of PENICILLIN they tried to charge me $108.71. (SCAM) I know my prices and I refused and left. The following morning I went to my pharmacy and was chgd. $29, 99. BIG DIFFERENCE. (it was generic also) I e-mailed them twice about this and they won't return an explanation. Walgreens is famous for over charging...DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT GIVE WALGREENS ANY BUSINESS OF ANY KIND..

Sincerely, Minus

One- did this walgreesn you when to have your insurance on file? Did you bother to give them your card? Did you ask for the generic? All of these are your fault. Walgreens charges the same as every other Pharmacy it's up to your insurance, wheither they cover the drug or what your co-pay might be. Some times the manufactuer changes the drug causing the one you used to get to become unavalible. Maybe the new drug costs more or is not covered. Either way... Shut the hell up

I have to second this, as Walgreens overcharges on prescriptions an absurd amount. The only reason to even go to Walgreens is that they have a lot of stores that are open 24 hours; that is the only positive to filling prescriptions there.

Walgreens rude employee vicki

I had a question about a product that had been recalled and noticed that one kind of the brand was on the shelf but the one I was looking for was not there. And the Employee by the name of Vicki was at the front register today 3/22/09 made the commit ( God we just pulled them ) and restocked with the new ones . For one I was not asking her about the product and for jer to make such a rude coomit behind my back as I was walking away with another store assosicate that was being polite and helpful was very rude and uncalled for. I do alot of bussiness in this store but I will not go there anymore if she keeps that up. There is no call for that.

I think that she should adjust her sttitude and quickly.

I think Walgreens is a great company...I get my prescriptions filled there..they are on time with my prescription..the staff is always friendly to me and recognize me by name..it sure beats waiting in line at Walmart for 2 hours to get a prescription and it beats CVS...just because one employee gave you a bad experience that doesn't mean that all the Walgreens are that way..It is very difficult having to please all the customers and constantly keep a smile on your face even if the customer is rude to you or you're having a bad day..A employee that works at the store I do business best friend was murdered..but yet she still came to work and dispite customers getting nasty she still managed to do her job..so take the good with the bad.. it is not that serious that you have to publicly try and humiliate the person because you are angry..Be the bigger person get over it life is too short

I have been going to my pharmacy for a few yearsa. They always send me
scripts I did not order. This time I had just got my meds refilled. then when we went to
get another script, they refilled all my meds and gave me stuff I do not use.
I got mad and told them to cancel my account with them that I was taking my business
else where. How can pharmacys get away with sending the wrong things and making me pay for it?
It's not right.

No the customer is not always right. Did you not even get the point of Aaron's post?

If we suspect that you're buying cigarettes for an underage person, we are not supposed to sell them to you. It's legality, not us trying to be difficult.

But yea seriously that training vid did make me paranoid too. I work in the photo lab, so I don't see the tobacco buyers all that much, and when I'm called to check at the front, I always ask for ID if they look under 40, cause I had some friends in high school who could pass for 30 or 35, I mean, who actually DID quite a few times.

Well, unhappy customer, you are the reason that people like me have migraines.

See, we happy few who man the front lines in the war on stuipd customers are often subjected to police officers sending in minors to attempt to purchase tobacco products illegally. If you are caught selling a minor a tobacco product you face a large fine and most likely the loss of your job (if you work at walgreens, at least). It doesn't help that the tobacco training thing we go through seems to be designed to make you paranoid.

I have had similar situations with customers and sent them packing; the clerk did the right thing and the only reason you got your way was to get you out of the store.

You sound like a petty, abusive child who threw a temper tantrum to get her way. For those of you playing along at home who think that retail is easy and working at walgreens doubly so I humbly submit the testimony of "unhappy customer"...this is what we have to put with, often several times a day.
//begin rant
So I'm going to make a plea right here and right now. Can we not be civil to each other? Instead of name calling how about some understanding? Sure, we all lose our temper sometimes but I sure as hell don't come to your job and call you names. Believe it or not I don't call my customers names (even though I do want to sometimes).

What kind of society are we heading towards when we can't even be bothered to be decent to each other?

Might seem weird coming from a guy who has unloaded on more than one person with a complaint here, but consider this; most of the people I get mad at are the ones who refuse to see what other people are going through. Have a little sympathy for each other and for God's sake, be DECENT to each other. Find ways to resolve problems in the store without coming online and whining because you didn't get your way! Managers are there for a reason.
end rant//

I hate walgreens. Especially the location in San Rafael CA. The employees are rude and not knowledgeable. My brother forgot his wallet at his friends house, he asked me to buy him some cigarettes. I had other merchandise in my shopping cart and my brother was standing right by me. The clerk refused to sell me the cigarettes because he did not have his id. I called her a stupid ### and said that I have my drivers license. I tossed it onto the counter, and told my brother to go outside and wait in my car. She called over the store manager. When the manager showed up I said what is the problem now, I called the clerk a liar and said that I never came in with my brother. Finally I was able to purchase cigarettes.

And you didn't speak to a manager because...?

Seriously, if you were that offended then talk to the bloody manager.

Of course I suppose that it's impossible for you to recount the entire event; your story sounds like one child telling on another in that you carefully omit any details that could cast you in an unflattering light. Your bad typing doesn't help your case at all.

For the record, and for anyone else with similar complaints, try to get help from a manager in the store BEFORE coming online and whining. If you had gone to a manager and your concerns were not addressed THEN come online and leave a complaint (including the part where the management was no help). Hell, if a manager ignored you I'd be tempted to call the store myself and ### them out, but if you aren't even going to try and use the system avaliable to you then you only have yourself to blame when nothing gets done about your problem. Walgreens inconsistent coupon policy

Walgreens needs to print and distribute their coupon policy to ALL of their stores, distric managers, store managers, employees, post in all employee breakrooms, on their website, and have copies available in stores and/or on the internet for consumers.

They are inconsistent with stating what the coupon policy is.

I am WEARY of being told by one cashier that I can't use a coupon or more than one register reward, etc. and then literally the next day being told by that same cashier or another something totally different. They keep giving me the excuse that the policy has changed! I have called Walgreens customer service so that I can find out for myself just what the coupon policy states, and have been told that an area manager would call back, but does not.

I am not trying to abuse coupon usage, and I would welcome a copy of the coupon policy so that I am on the same page as the cashier, store manager, etc.

How can I plan my shopping list for a store when I NEVER know if I can actually use a coupon or not when it is time to check out? I can go to Walmart or other drug stores such as CVS and Rite-Aid and know exactly what coupons I can use because they are CONSISTANT with their coupon policies. It really can be very simple.
WALGREENS! PLEASE PUBLISH A COUPON POLICY!

I just went to Walgreen's today. They had Splenda on sale for $2.99. I had 5 coupons for $3.00 off each for this product. When I went to buy 5 items with my 5 coupons I was told by the cashier and the mgr. that I could only buy 4 items with my 5 coupons. Their reason was because the value of the 5 coupons would be more than the 4 items combined ( a whopping 5 cents!). Last I looked at Walgreens policy it stated that "in the event that any item's selling price is less than the value of the item, Walgreens would only accept the coupon in exchange for the selling price of the item". So do the employees not read their store policy or has it changed?! I feel like going back down their tomorrow and complaining. But then again would I just be wasting my time.

I agree that walgreens has a stingky coupon policy. I always shop at cvs and rite aid where they accept coupons as it is. I went to one walgreens last week with my buy one get one coupon for a body wash. Their body wash was on sale for buy one get one and the cashier told me that i cannot use my coupon because the amount that they will put on the coupon is zero because of the free item. If only they know that the manufacturer will pay for their cost, (that is the amount to be written on the coupon) then they will understand. Which will make both items essentially free. I went to another walgreens store and bought it from them. It seems that their stores are not on the same page with their policy! They should have a training to all their cashiers and managers about their policy!

the policy for register rewards is stated on the front of the register rewards coupon. Please read it. In Florida, retailers cannot double coupon wich is why you can't have more coupons than items being purchased. Also, the value of all coupons has to LESS than the subtotal of the items purchased since the state always gets the money due them in sales taxes before the coupons

Walgreen guy i feel sorry for u? Business sense but surley no common sense. U probably don't have a dime to spend or a pot to piss in. It makes me sick that you actually can't handle the fact people like couponing!
Im surely glad when it cost me 50 cents for 50 bucks worth of products. You feel free to spend your fifty for groceries and i will pocket mine.
Just to make sense walgreens needs to put there policy in the paper not jerk people around! And to let You know that reward you call a manufactures coupon wasn't put out by the manufacturer because if it was you could use it at any store. So were does walgreens get off.!
I think walgreens abuses there coupon customers and i surely won't take my business there again. I feel they lie cheat and deceive the public with there rewards. Your ads tell u one thing and yet your policy another.
I feel sorry for u as a walgreen exec.
I have been coupon shopping for over 30 yrs and have yet to meet a smart exec or store manger who has a clue about coupons! Clueless would be the term!
To be honest i think walgreens and there rewards program stinks Like the doctor said i think i will take my business to CVS were you r not decieved and feel cheated!

I love couponing. For every bad experience, I have many more good ones. That keeps me going. As far as someone getting sick because we pay under $1 for $20 of merchandise, they need to get their facts straight. There is a woman I know who orders "free after coupon" items for a homeless shelter. She has the grocery store order 50-100 items for her. She orders the coupons from e-bay. The grocery store person told her he likes to order the items for her. The manufacturer pays for shelf space (100 items is a lot of shelf space). This is extra money for the store. The store also gets reimbursed for the coupons. If the manufacturer were losing money, they would not be issuing the coupons in the first place. How many people do you actually see clipping coupons. People are always staring at me and commenting how much I saved. If it happens all the time, I don't think they would be commenting. The person who "is sick" from couponers is suffering from "coupon envy" or ignorance.

Today, 1 wasted 1 hour. I had a coupon for HP employee that gives 15% off of regular products and 20% off of Walgreens products. First of all, the cahsier didn't know how to process the coupon and running all over the store and kept coming back to try different things... took 40 minutes.

From the way she was acting, I got nervous and informed her twice that I was supposed to get 20% discount for the Walgreens humidifier I bought. Still, she gave me only 15% discount. She called her supervisor who just looked at the receipt for 1 second and said that he gets only 15% employee discount and he couldn't give me more than that.

I pointed out that the coupon clearly stated that 20% off of all walgreens products. He just stared at me and asked me a stupid question "have you ever worked at Walgreens store?" I'm a doctor and no reason to work at Walgreens. It happened in Austin (6812 N Lamar Blvd. Austin TX 78752). The rude employee's name is John Dalton. I'll use CVS from now on.

U get sick? Why? Sick that ur not clever enough to use coupons to save money? U act like ur the owner of walgreens with a comment like, 'it makes me sick to see someone paying 0.36cents instead of $20.00 at checkout.' Why is using a coupon to save money abusing the system? Is there a max amount u would prefer we stay under so that we can make sure to not get u sick?

As a walgreen's employee I can tell you exactly our policy on coupons. This is how it is done at my particular store. I can't tell you about other stores but I know most of the stores in my particular district do things this very same way.

Okay, first off, store coupons in our weekly flyer are not manufacturer coupons so they have no effect on what manufacturer coupons you can use.

Now, you can only use as many manufacturer coupons as you have items. If you buy 5 items, you can use 5 coupons. The register will restrict any more coupons after that. Obviously the coupons you use have to be related to the products you are buying. Register rewards are the same as manufacturer coupons, say you have 5 items, you have 2 coupons you clipped out of the sunday newspaper, and you also have 3 register rewards, you can use all 5 of them together, but thats it, you cant use 6 unless you have 6 items.

Here is where it gets a little more complicated, say you have 5 items, and you have a coupon that says "buy 2 of these same items and save $3" well that coupon counts for 2 out of the 5 items you are buying

Lets say you are buying 2 tubes of colgate toothpaste and you have 2 coupons. One says "Buy 2 tubes of colgate toothpaste and save $3" and the other says "Buy any one tube of colgate toothpaste and save $1" If you use the coupon for $3 that counts for both tubes of toothpaste so you couldn't use the $1 coupon. If you wanted to use both coupons you would have to buy 3 tubes of toothpaste.

Also, cashiers are not allowed to accept expired coupons. The cashier is supposed to be checking expiration dates on the coupons. Walgreens does not get reimbursed for expired coupons.

Last but not least, I know how a lot of you coupon kings and queens can be. Coming from a walgreens employees I've served the worst of the worst. Don't be rude and yell at the cashier because they tell you you can't use a coupon. I get sick when I see someone come through the line to be checked out and pay 36 cents for a purchase that should have been over $20. It's rediculous and a lot of you abuse the system.

And repeating the information I had already provided is a little absurd in yours.

The reason I added my comment about store managers was because of what the first respondent to this complaint said and then qualified their half-assed info by saying they were a manager.

How does it feel to know that you went to school for 4+ years to become an over-glorified stock room clerk and gofer? Probably majored in business admininistration...what a good little clone you are! Yeah, you're hot stuff Mr. (or Ms.) EXA...you're sallaried and effectively making what comes out to be about 4 to 6 dollars an hour more than I do, and you are probably paying higher taxes. Smart career move. You have no real authority and are probably laughed at behind your back.

Obtain a clue.

Walgreens prescription

It was brought to my attention that my mother received a presciption 2/18/09 for avelox 400mg. When she read your information sheets she discovered that due to her medications she is on as known by her records at the store should not be taking it. The store was called to explain the conflict with the medication causing life threatning problems she was told if you walk out the door with a drug it is yours live with it. I thought walgeens advertises that you protect this from happening to your customers. Due to their lack of follow thru it cost my mother who is 87 years old and can not afford 74.80 and her finances are low. Her address is Bernice Rainey 160 N. mediterrean Blvd Port St Lucie Florida 33452. Hopfully you can help her out due to the giving her the scrip that could of killed her.

I have been filling my medication at walgreens in Connecticut for years. I thought that they would fill it no matter what state you were in. On vacation I went to the walgreens in Florida . Gave them my written prescription and Id, s . They had all my records on file .Said they could not fill it cause it was an out of state prescription. Went to walmarts they filled it within the hour. What's up with that.?

Um...you do realize that this isn't a walgreens site, right? So when you say "your information sheets" to whom do you refer?

I'm pretty sure complaits board doesn't issue perscriptions...

Seriously, instead of wasting time here, go into the store, ask to speak to the store manager...go during the day before 5pm. If the store manager isn't there or isn't helpful ask for the phone number for the district office. And finally...

DON'T EVER RELEASE PERSONAL INFORMATION ON A WEBPAGE!

Keetly, why is Walgreens the ONLY merchant I have ever found selling greendot reload cards that holds the money for an hour before you can put it on your card? What the hell is that all about?

It's irritating as hell and I can't imagine they get so much Greendot business that they are making a ton of interest by holding the money for an hour!

I work at walgreens. the thing is - we just sell the cards, they are not our product, and thus we cannot give refunds for them - we don't have the authority - and there are signs on all the card holders that say that we cannot give refunds for them. The only thing you can do is go to the greendot people. And actually I've had a greendot as well - and i noticed a few times that funds would mysteriously disappear - after I called them and did a lot of yelling the funds + some had been mysteriously added back on to my card. So maybe you're yelling at the wrong people. I don't know if its the same as all walgreens, but at the one I work at we DO have signs EVERYWHERE saying specifically that we cannot give refunds on giftcards/phonecards/greendot refill cards and the like.

Walgreens bad customer service

I am very upset with my recent visit to Walgreens pharmacy. I had an RX transfered to walgreens from cvs this week for my husband. I went and dropped off my insurance cards, and when I gave the lady my insurance cards she said the medication that I was to pick up was not covered. This is not true, I called my insurance company and there had not even been an authorization for this anywhere. So I had to call back and speak with the pharmacist. She said they never even put in my info and just ran the last card they had listed. She said sorry and everything was ok.
I went to pick up my rx that night. The lady was rude, and told me that I could not use my 25.00 free gift card coupon for this transfered rx because it was a new rx. What does it matter, I transfered it from cvs to walgreens and you are getting the business. I always use cvs and I think I am begining to understand why I do that now.

I went to get my high blood pressure medication prescription filled and was told that the pharmacists and persons working in the pharmacy were too busy to help me. I was down to only one pill and this is detrimental to my health to not help me. I changed over my health insurance coverage and had not received my new card yet when I went to fill my prescription. I tried to give them all of my information but was told that they did not have time to call and verify my information, and to come back in 2 hours. I can understand if the persons in the pharmacy were busy but they were not courteous when informing me of how they could not help me for at least 2 hours. Customer service is a major aspect of working to serve the public and this was not shown with my experience.

if you were to read the fine print on the check, it clearly states that it is not to be used in the pharmacy. only for store purchases. or can't you read. its people like you, who make a big fuss over something they know nothing about that make the employees get pissed off and give you attitude. yea, if i were helping you, i probably would have done the same thing. dont get me wrong, i would have politely explained that to you, but once you say "what does it matter" is when all things go to hell. it does matter. they don't just waste their breath telling you things that dont matter.

If you were able to read you would see that the coupon says "transferred" prescription, not "new and transferred". Transferred means a prescriptions you are currently getting at another pharmacy with refills on it that Walgreens has to call the other pharmacy and get TRANSFERRED to them.
Not to mention it also says that the gift card can't be used to pay for prescription co-pays anyway.

Actually they do have a medication discount plan.
You have to pay something like $15 just to join.
One reason people join is that Walgreens Rx's are all linked across the U.S. and they are sold on the whole card thing that when you buy a walgreens brand item it 'banks' a % of that product for the next purchase. of course it isn't explained that way...it's definitely misrepresented because teh pharm people don't know how it works on reg otc meds.
BUT...it's cheaper to just go get it at Walmart for $4 and not deal w/ the stupid card

Walgreens rx services

Left prescription for my 2 year old daughter for 3 medications, all respiratory related, 2 for breathing treatments. Was told it would be an hour. Went back in an hour and was told that they were out of two of the three medications and wouldn't have them for at least another day. Had to have the scripts sent to another pharmancy and ended up having to wait 2 hours longer but at least got the meds.

Left rx for two of my children at walgreens, one for each child, same med, antibiotic. Was told it would be 45 min to one hour. Went back an hour later. They only ran insurance on one child, had to wait for them to run on other (15 min) then had to wait another 10 min for meds. Got home and had two rx for one child and none for the other. After pharmacy was closed. Had to call 24 hour pharmacy to find out what to do with liquid med. They put same childs name on both meds, put dosage information for pill form on liquid antibiotic bottle. Charged my insurance $170.00 more for liquid med., same med as pill form. I returned med that was labeled wrong, they didn't have any idea what happened. Had to wait another 30 min for rx refill.

Rediculous and DANGEROUS! Had I not been paying attention, I could have given my child a dangerous dose of wrong med! Makes me wonder how many other people this has happened to!

I took a prescription after work to be filled. I got there at 4:10 and they told me it would be about 20 minutes. I finally got my script at 5:00. I usually go to walmart because they are cheaper than you guys but after working nine hours I didn't feel like the walk or dealing with the other people. Next time I will deal with it. It hasnever taken them more than 15 min. to fill a script. Maybe you need two pharmacists to fill orders at that time of day.

Here is our complaint sent to Walgreen over their website.

On 27 March 2009 my Fiancé and I went to the Walgreens store in Des Moines, WA to purchase a prescription for our daughter. The Pharmacist, Tang Tran, provided inaccurate information regarding the supply length of the drug we purchased. When we heard how much the prescription was going to cost $69.99, and that it was not covered by our insurance we informed him that this cost was too high. We then asked him how long the supply we were purchasing would last and he said one year. We thought that was a fair price so we decided to purchase the prescription. When we arrived home we read the box and it said it was a one-month supply. Because of this we had to go back to point this out and request a refund.

When we returned to discuss this, on 28 March, Mr. Tran treated us very rude and condescending and would not refund our money, even though he had made a mistake (he was adamant that we should pay for his mistake). He was very unprofessional and emotional, and accusatory towards us. Examples of things he said were “You should know that it would not last for one-year”. Why would we know this, and why would we ask him in the first place, if we had this knowledge. He also said “I [he] will go to jail if I take this prescription back”. This was a lie. The WAC of Washington State does not state this. It states that it would be illegal for him to take it back from us and then to resell it. He continued in this tone of accusations until one of the other employees asked us to return when the main pharmacy manager was in.

The pharmacist should have simply stated that he is sorry, that he cannot authorize a refund, but we will need to speak to the manager when she is in. Also, initially, when we indicated the price was high he should have suggested he look into a replacement that our insurance would cover and speak with our Doctor.

We will not be able to continue to support a company that employs this level of unprofessionalism in their employees.

We did return tonight (30 March) and discussed the matter with the Pharmacy Manager, Bessie Ament, Pharm D. Initially she seemed reluctant to refund the purchase. She made it sound like we had misunderstood; likely due to the prior conversation she had with Mr. Tran. After seeing that we had not misunderstood, that Mr. Tran had treated us unprofessionally, and had given us false information, she finally refunded us the purchase price.

This entire incident was completely unnecessary; it caused undue stress due to the derogatory and unprofessional treatment from Mr. Tran, caused my fiancé to become ill, took up much of our time in two unnecessary trips to the store, and has taken our time to write this complaint.

Mr. Tran should treat all customers fairly, equally, and professionally. In addition, he should understand the Washington State laws regarding his profession (in reference to him making the statement that we were asking him to do something illegal that he would go to prison for).

The only time we get a prescription that is short is when we get a controled substance like this one. My husband had a total knee replacement. The pain pills helped him through therapy and to sleep off the pain. Every bottle we had filled was short. But we counted them in front of the supervisor and she say that indeed the count was off and gave us more pills. One day we counted them at the window instead and was called a liar and they accussed us of miscounting them.
