Walgreens prescription

I take morphime for chronic pain. I had my prescription refilled at Wallgreens . Instead of filling it correctly which was morphine Sulfate E. R. 15 milligrams ...they filled it at 60 milligrams...this could of killed me ! I think this is ridiculous...I know people are human and make mistakes but this one could've been fatal! Wallgreens acted like it was NO BIG DEAL I'm considering legal action !

Walgreens service

This pharmacy provides the worst service. Their employees think they deserve to be treated like loyalty so they can be nice. Everytime I go to pick up my medication they make me wait...(drive thru) they never have the medication ready..(when I order two, they give me only one)...
The other day they gave me a vaccine to give it to my doctor...and they didn't put any label (keep refrigerated)...so the vaccine couldn't be used because of their mistake.
They are awful rude stupid people...

Those first two sentences are just awesome, had to read them a couple times to fully enjoy them. So if a company sucks so bad, why do you keep going back? Why not hit the company with the one thing they do care about, a loss of a profit.

Walgreens I feel I was discrimminated against but store manger.

I started working at Walgreens on October 31st, 2010. At first I truly enjoyed working there, and felt I was liked by my fellow coworkers and management staff. I was sick a few times in December and one of which I had an ER discharge notice that I make of copy of & gave to my manger. I was told that it was fine & that they hoped I got better. I got sick again in February two days in a row and was told over the phone that if I called in again I would be fired. I went to the ER again that following week in severe pain & went to work the next day with little to no sleep and still in pain because we had a 5 minute meeting that stated what their new policy was for sick leave and it stated part time has only 3 days a year and once used you can't have anymore and even a doctors note would not excuse you. I wasn't feeling well while at work on February 18th, 2011 so I asked the manger on duty if I got the rest of the truck put away if I could leave early and she said it was fine. One of the other employees found out I was leaving early and I was in the back stock room putting things away when I hear the manger had a call. Ten minutes later she came back saying if I left I would be written up because she talk to the store manger who wasn't on duty and he said I would be written up and that any other time I do this or I would be fired on the spot. My whole six months of working there, many other employees have called in as I have done and or left early becuase they were sick or just because they wanted to and lived outside of town and were never written up or threaten to lose their jobs. I am not happy with the company Walgreens because not once did the store manger come to me and tell me I was doing a bad job or talk to me about why I was being singled out. The only person who told me anything was one of the assistant mangers when I called and said I was quitting because I didn't want to work for a company that doesn't care about their people or discriminates against one person because they are new and don't deserve the same treatment as the other employees who have work there longer.

I just started working for Walgreens six months ago and I quit because I was told I was going to be fired because I left work early because I wasn't feeling well. When several other employees have left work early a lot of times leaving only two people to run the whole store. Or got crossed off because the store manger approved it. But when I need the same it get thrown back in my face because had some horrible problems with my wisdom teeth and got sick enough to end up in the ER and so I am not worth keeping. Just so everyone knows no one can control whether they get sick or injured or has to go to the doctor those things are a fact of everyday life and Walgreens needs to come back to Earth and become more human. And further more policies need to change because unless Walgreens wants to pay out some serious cash for negligence for ignoring doctors notes that state a person is unable to work and making that person come in any way or ignoring the fact that one of your employees is sick and needs to leave then threatening them with a write up or worst if they do but then gives other employees special treatment because they are friends with management. If you have ever heard of the word discrimination that is a pretty good definition of it.

I know that when you are genuinely ill, it is difficult to deal with a situation like this. However, when you miss a good amount of work, you are no longer a useful employee and they reserve the right to fire you. Regardless of the reason, they cannot keep a member of the staff employed forever when they miss many of their shifts. It just becomes too much of a loss.

Couple of points. One, Walgreens is an "at will" company, which means they can terminate employees for any reason, as long as it is a legal reason. Two, you've been sick and taken off from work at least five times (by my count), maybe more, and asked to leave early at least once after working there part time for less than four months. To call off that often, no matter the excuse, is unacceptable.

I can't say whether or not the store manager has personal grudge against you, but he could also be that, as you said, everyone has been calling in lately and the decision was made because of everyone's calling in, not just yours. You may have been the "straw that broke the camel's back" on this, but the policy he stated was not that different than most retail stores. It is actually more accepting than some I have worked at. It sounds like you did the right thing by quiting, but don't be surprised if you get the same treatment in another retail job.

BTW, the last retail job I worked two years ago had this rule. If you were sick, you find someone to cover your shift. If you call in without finding someone to cover, first time you are written up, second time you are fired. Did you make any attempts to get someone to cover for your shifts? If you didn't, maybe if you had the manager would be more understanding. Keep in mind that the manager has a business to run and that requires employees who are going to be there. If customer complain about waits and lack of service, his job is on the line. So yes, he may have been looking to get rid of someone that calls in at least five times in less than four months of working there.

Walgreens maggots found in spice

I found several dozen maggots in a spice bottle of onion flakes made by this company. I purchased it in December 2010 (at Walgreens in Christiansburg, VA, USA) and by early Feb 2011 I used up my previous bottle (different brand) and got the Encore out. I pulled off the seal which seemed to be intact and saw maggots inside. Shocked I closed the container immediately and contacted Encore Gourmet Foods in Canada. After several attempts, emails, Encore Gourmet Foods does not respond.

NEW Development: Walgreens has replaced Encore brand with another brand.

Update by reliablemrb
Feb 28, 2011 1:53 am EST

NEW DEVELOPEMENT: On Feb 21 and 22 I visited 7 Walgreen stores and noted 6 of the stores were fully stocked with Encore spices except for the Chopped onion flakes- non of those at all there. The 7th store had a hole in the area where the Encore spices were- the whole display was removed. I contacted the FDA on Feb 23 and they contacted Encore. Encore claimed they did not receive any of my emails and that it was impossible that maggots could hatch out in one of their bottles, in spite of the pictures the FDA sent them. Its pretty obvious whats really going on here.

No they would do nothing for the prior reasons stated. I will be contacting the FDA on Monday. Thanks for getting me to think and come up with the correct thing to do - too bad walgreens will now get into trouble. ... Im closing this site out now since only 1 other person viewed it so its not a site that gets the job done and I will not be back to read any more comments or post any other complaints, if I were to have any more. Goodbye.

Do you work for walgreens or encore ? In the USA, merchants sell products to make a profit. They do not contact manufacturers with problems like this. Walgreens, like any other merchant, would just try to give me a replacement, discard the return, forget it and bury the matter. They will not go contacting the manufacturer and demanding action as this would be contrary to their goal of making a profit. What country do you live in if things are not the same there ? You have got me thinking though- I should call the food and drug administration- they WILL look into this and contact the manufacturer through channels in canada but that WILL get walgreens in trouble too.

Update by reliablemrb
Feb 17, 2011 1:56 am EST

Did you try taking it back to walgreens ? Response: Well, you see, the manufacturer should be checking lot numbers and figuring out how this contamination occured. I really was not interested in the 50 cents I paid (on sale) and I would just be unable to use any Encore's ever again. I would always be wondering whats in it.

I cannot find the survey. Is there really one or just a scam. I switched from CVS to Walgreens because I didn't like the way CVS was run. I just hope it is better here.

Walgreen's needs to fix this - it sounds like it has been going on for a while.

Walgreens faxing

I purchased a phone card from Walgreens in 2008 and did not use all my minutes within the 24 months, which I will take blame for. BUT, this card was used exclusively to fax documents to long distance numbers. So, I went and bought another phone card in 2010, with only 150 minutes($10.00). I had used this card exclusively to fax also. Yesterday I could not get a fax to go through, so I eventually called customer service, who is telling me that the card is not made for faxing!?!? How can this be that a calling card I have used numerous times is no longer valid for faxing? It had always worked before! And customer service argued with me and talked over me as I was trying to explain that I have used this card only for faxing in the past. HORRIBLE customer service, and you product sucks. I know it is the card, because I can fax locally and make phone calls with the card, as I have tried both. I even had another person try to use the calling card from their location and fax, but it would not go through for them either.

Walgreens charged me $102 for a $15 rx that I did not ok

I sent Walgreens mail service some Rxs and they were supposed to be $15 each for 90 day supply. They were all to be generic as noted on the Rxs by my doctor. The problem is that one generic is no longer available and Walgreens sent a brand name and billed me $102. They did not notify me of the super charges. I know what they did is legal but is not very consumer friendly. They will not take back the Rx. And their phone and email service is handled by a lot of automation and people that know nothing and are no help whatsoever.

Walgreen's does suck! It's a shame that they have been able to get away with so much and for so long. I unfortunately have had the last of bad experiences. I kept thinking to give them a chance because after all every store is different and with different personality employees but today I went in to pick up an antibiotic and specifically requested this antibiotic but the pharmacist gave me two prescriptions that included the one I had requested. When I got home, I realized that I was given one I had not asked for so I went back to return the second, 45 minutes later. After being told to wait (after 15 mins), Daniel Min Pharmacy Manager of the Walgreen's on 5201 Belt Line Rd., Dallas, TX rudely told me that there was nothing that could be done and that I needed to get out of my vehicle and go inside. Then he began to "argue" and talking over me saying that he didn't know what he wanted me to do, that supposedly "by law the prescription could not be returned" even though I had just been deceived into buying it, given that I had told the pharmacy tech what I was specifically picking up. Daniel Min stated, "we just assume"...totally unacceptable behavior, response and customer service. Mr. Min was very condescending and offered no other options, in fact, he just refused to even listen or take any accountability, blaming the doctor and the patient. Walgreen's and Daniel Min show proof of such an unethical business and practice. SHAMEFUL! A business should never "assume" as Mr. Min stated. Good customer service entails giving the customer thorough information so that the customer can make a choice of what they need to purchase. It seems Mr. Daniel Min just manages his techs as paper pushers and not responsible service providers. He himself takes no accountability for their own mistakes which only demonstrates proof of terrible management.

Walgreens pharmacist lies!

On December 6, 2010, I received four paper prescriptions from my doctor and proceeded to drop them off at the Walgreens at Thompson and Emerson in Indianapolis. I had the technician verify that all prescriptions were in stock. I was told there would be about an hour wait for these prescriptions. I returned home and received a call from ERIN KRUEGER, pharmacy manager at this store. She told me that since I had this particular prescriptions filled previously on November 15, 2010, that insurance had denied them, and she could not fill them until December 13, 2010. This was not a refill, these were valid paper prescriptions dated for December 6, 2010. I immediately phoned my insurance company, Anthem, and discovered that my prescriptions were cleared for payment and for filling! ERIN KRUEGER LIED to me about insurance denying the prescriptions! ERIN KRUEGER also lied to my insurance company regarding my prescriptions. Anthem has documented records of them calling ERIN KRUEGER and her saying that it was "Walgreens policy" not to fill these prescriptions any more than two days early. This was proven to be untrue. As it turns out, it was ERIN KRUEGER's policy not to fill these prescriptions. It is NOT Walgreens policy, nor did my insurance deny these prescriptions. ERIN KRUEGER was hiding behind these lies as justification for her own mistake (as further admitted to Marcell Naddas, a Walgreens district manager). ERIN KRUEGER admitted to Mr. Naddas that she had, in fact, made a mistake, as Mr. Naddas admitted to me "that they had certainly dropped the ball". Please contact me if you have had the same issues regarding a prescription that you have had trouble being filled earlier than the previous month (either a refill or a paper prescription, I had paper prescriptions dated for the day I dropped them off, this was NOT even a refill!) and if anyone from this pharmacy refusing to fill the prescription no more than two days early and LYING about it! My insurance policy allows me to have ANY prescription filled or refilled two weeks into the current prescription. I received an apology letter from both ERIN KRUEGER and the district office in Carmel, but I am wanting to make sure that ERIN KRUERGER does not LIE to anyone else. In the apology letter, ERIN KRUEGER admits, now, that it was her "personal judgment" not to fill the prescriptions, instead of originally saying that, which I would have understood, and gladly taken my prescriptions elsewhere (which I had to do anyway), ERIN KRUEGER decided to lie! A manager of a pharmacy! I could not believe it! While it may be ERIN KRUEGER's right as a pharmacist to deny a prescription, I am sure that if she was truly comfortable with denying someone a prescription, she would not feel the need to LIE to customers and hide behind bogus policies, or telling customers of all things, their insurance denied payment! Unbelievable, this woman is a manager! Bottom line was for me, ERIN KRUEGER lied, first saying my insurance denied it, and second that it was "Walgreens policy" (to both me and Anthem), when all along it was simply her choice not to fill them! Once ERIN KRUEGER called me and told me that insurance denied the prescriptions, I had to return to the store, (at this point, I said to ERIN KRUEGER, "you should not tell someone that their insurance denied prescriptions, when it is NOT TRUE", to which she replied "that is not what is said, I said it was Walgreens policy", and I said, "No you did not", and again, she said, "yes I did", finally (rather than argue with her like a two-year old), I said, "you need to back my prescriptions out of the system and return them to me" (as instructed by Anthem, as they had already cleared for payment and filling). The paper prescriptions were returned to me by ERIN KRUEGER and I did have the prescriptions filled with no problem at another pharmacy. I would imagine that the other pharmacy does not employ liars! In the end, it did end up taking me around four hours from the time ERIN KRUEGER originally called me to get my filled prescriptions in hand. What a waste of my time!

I cannot believe someone said "get over it" That is whats wrong with the world today. I am with you on this, why lie? A professional person that holds the title of pharmacy head should not be lying to customers. These are people we depend on for our livelihood. I do not like people who lie and especially lie in a job like hers. They should be fired because the next lie may harm someones life.

Walgreens lost insurance card

Today I left my insurance card with my prescription to be filled at walgreens. I never received my insurance card back. Not a big deal, except it had my full name and my date of birth on it! Then when I asked them about it they tried to tell me that they never received it. Are you kidding me? And the best they could do is say that they could not find it. They never even said they were sorry. Beware!

Walgreens very poor service from pharmact

Very poor service from the Pharmacy dept. as of late. Other people I know are saying the same things about Walgreens. When I see a decline in service from companies it usually means that management has gone down hill and they are desperate, and translates into a drop into the stock price, which means a stock shorting opportunity.

Walgreens misleading pricing

Walgreens shows their sale prices on the shelf. But when you get the register, they charge you a higher price. You have to watch them like a hawk and tell them they overcharged you. The clerks don't care that they overcharged you and they never apologize for it. Then you have to stand there and wait while the clerk looks for the coupon so that that she can ring up the correct price. I wonder how much money Walgreens makes on its unsuspecting consumers who think they are buying something for the advertised sales price and then get charged the full price. What a ripoff.

it is the customers responsibility to have the coupons ready not the cashier, if you want the sale price, then have the coupon ready, the world is full of self-absorbed, entitled people, in reality, the person behind the register has many things to do, limited time to do them, to expect them to spend extra time searching for coupons and making the next customers in line wait is ridiculous

I do have to disagree. I work for Walgreens and have to state that just because one store is very rude and careless does not mean every store in the country is like that. I personally put extra thought and care when ringing out my customers to make sure they are getting the correct price and will also go the extra mile and try to find more savings for them. I do this because I know what it's like to go to the store and get charged the wrong price and have the employee not care less. I know in this day that every dime truly counts and will always treat my customers with absolute respect, loyalty and honesty. Some of us do actually care. Thank you! Walgreens medication

When I had been sick, the doctor prescribed a medication for me that I would take. I went to Walgreens and ordered the medication. I had been prescribed to this drug before and knew how long it would be before it was ready. When I arrived back at Walgreens, the pharmacist handed me the bottle of medication. I paid and returned home. When I opened the bottle, the, the medication was a powder. I knew this wasn't correct from my past experiences with this drug. It was supposed to be a liquid. I returned to Walgreens and requested to speak to the manager. I showed him the bottle of powder and told him that it was not correct. As a result, they made me a second bottle of the medicine. This time, it was as it was should be.

Sounds to me like they gave you the medication without adding the water to it, I have had them do that to me only they didn't add the correct amount of water. So when I went back they still tried to blame it on me for not checking it BEFORE I left the store. It's always the customer's fault when it comes to them.

This is the same comment thread as above. Just hoping it isn't all chopped & screwed up like that one. I also had a picture attachment that isn't attached also. Basically it is a redo attempt:

They got me for a $130.00. I received this box in the mail. Didn't who, what why or where it came from. I set it on the counter until I received either an invoice or email, something!. Yesterday I received a text msg from my bank alerting me my acct balance had dropped below the threshold low. As I stood baffled reading my text I also started to develop a migraine, stress related nausea & major anxiety because I had to call in to pay my light bill before the end of the day or my 5 children & I would be in the dark the next day. I pulled up my statement on the computer & all it had was a 800#. I called & they told me it was beyond the 10 day trial period, I asked her so "you're telling me I'm out $130.00"? She started to ramble typical crooked salesmen mumbo jumbo, whooptie whoop whoop & B.S. when I interupted and very aggitated and aggressivey I asked her "SO ARE U TELLING ME I'M OUT OF $130.00 THEN?! She said well, uh, uuhhh yes & I replied to that "That's ALL I ASKED YOU IDIOT"! $130.00? For crap I will never use, can't sell, can't give it away and every bone in my body is telling me it's a sin to throw away $130.00 of Brand New, Trendy cosmetics. I don't know what to do. I am sick. BTW, we won't be in the dark until Monday, nonetheless we will be in the dark & cold, we have ZERO Family here in S.A. It's that old feeling again, the Big guy steps all over the little guy, completely helpless, completely robbed & stolen from and because I am poor I have no where to turn for help & nobody to even talk to. This feeling of being victimized is very similar to the feeling felt after being robbed and mugged just without the physical wounds or fear they'll return to attack me again cause I cancelled my card. I didn't trust them that they wouldn't rob me again next month. The humility, panic, fear & worry over how I'm going to feed my children with out any electric is absolutely heartbreaking, embarrassing and scary. I could lose my family because these ###s in Harrisburg, PA. are sitting fat & full on my last $130.00 until only God knows when, I had to sell my kids Bunny and my bedroom set to pay my bills this month and this was the last of everything I owned with any kind of monetary value. I'm sure they're gonna eat & sleep & be warm with no worries though. Never again.

Sounds like Walgreen's -- the most incompotent pharmacy around today. I have had numerous problems with the pharmacy and the durable medical equipment division. Do you know that they even billed my insurance 7 months beyond the the purchase price. The billing is to stop once it meets the purchase price. I had to report that division to the Better Business Bureau in order to try and get a resolve. For the pharmacy -- I changed to CVS and all I can say is what a WONDERFUL difference. They fill the RX when they say it will be filled for the quantity indicated and it is ready when they say it will be. CAN YOU IMAGINE! Walgreens is does not know what they are doing anymore from EVERY LEVEL, be it corporate, pharmacy, dme, photo, retail. Here I come CVS!

Everytime I drop a prescription at Walgreens, it s a constant hassle. If if is not dispensed improperly, my script is sitting on some bin, the system is down or tehy just cannot get it right. It never fails, even though on my last experience, my script was dropped off before 4 pm, i was told to return at 6:30 pm (more than 2.5 hours later), What happened to the one hour. BS -- Upon my return I was told that my script was not there. Well, what happened, I guess you must have ghosts working there. (Very Efficient) BS. After discussing with the attendant, that I had dropped off my script, and the pharmacist continued harrasmnet. THat she did not have a prescription for me. Looked at another bin, and said. Ohhh our system was down, and we lost some scripts. Well, sure enough mine was part of that BS. AGAIN, I was told to return at 8:00 pm. Upon my return at 8:00 pm. had to wait about 15 minutes for the script. Wow, I guess it was not ready yet. Mind you this is an antibiotic, that was STAT, due to a pending surgery, which I explained to both attendants. Sincerely, in my opinion Walgreens has to step it up a notch. Otherwise, you will end up being another pharmacy. CVS has been growing alot lately. I see why. Very Angry anf Frustated Customer. Which is not planning on returning to any Walgreens. I encourage you to do a survey on your services, and see the outcome for yourselves. BTW, I am talking about the store located in Hialeah, FLorida(Plam Avenue and 49 ST)

Walgreens insurance fraud, failed to deliver meds, but billed insurance

Two Walgreens stores in Baytown TX are at fault, one refused to accept Military Tri Care Insurance, obious discrimination against veterans, rude, arrigant towards veterans, the second store, accepted the Military insurance for 90 day supply of med, but cheated the veteran by only putting 30 day supply in the large bottle, then repeately refused to correct the shortage, thus increasing their profits, to the detriment of the veterans health problems.
Three days later, after filing a complaint against the store, with Military Tri Care, the store reluctantly corrected the amount, but acted arrigant, rude, an indifferant, " its not a big deal " was what they told the veteran, TWICE, , a serious attutude problem, uncareing about the health problem of the veteran.

Walgreens overworked managers

I know that the job market is low.. And yes I probably shouldn't be writing this.. However, I can not help the fact that the store managers of Walgreens do not get any compensations for putting in more time worked.. Yes I know we get the bonus once a year.. However, the company changed the fiscal year on us, so we all lost 2 months of bonus.. How does that work? We as store managers manage the store and pharmacy.. We are over all the pharmacist.. Now if the salaried pharmacist works more then 40 hours they get there "B Pay" overtime.. no questions asked.. If the store manager works 60-70 hours a weeks and asks for an extra day off.. Your pulling teeth.. We as store managers are the ones on the front line making this company money.. For the month of December..IN our district our Dm forced us all to work 29 days of December...What kind of company lets the DMs make up there own rules like that... I don't know I guess I'm just bitter in the fact the Dm doesn't have the decency to even give a "Sincere Thank YOU".. All he is worried about his million dollar house he just bought, that nobody in his district even gives a crap about.. yuuuuu.. Oh well I guess it could be worse..

Yours truely,
Overworked Manager

The Managers at the Walgreen's where I work do a lot of work. However, we have a bunch of lazy workers there. I work in Photo, and I am overworked because I have to make up for the incompetent people who fail to do their job. Although the managers are always busy, they don't hold the employees accountable for their own jobs, and it always falls on me. I usually feel like I'm running a marathon trying to keep up. The stress is really getting to me. I go to work nauseated every day, and leave extremely agitated. (Sometimes I even cry my way home.) I like the Managers for the most part, but I hate that they don't hold the other people accountable, Is it just easier to pawn others' work on me than to hold the other employees accountable for their work, or lack of work? And, the work just keeps piling on me! I have to stay and close the store with the manager on duty EVERY night because they don't want to deal with the lazy, incompetent employees. I work hard, I'm always on time, and I RARELY take a break because I don't have time to. But, I have to cover breaks for the front cashier, and THAT is irritating! Especially when they demand a break "NOW" and I am really busy! A lot of customers have told me they thought I was a Manager because I am always working so hard when they come in. The worst part is that I haven't gotten a raise or anything like that. The Managers thank me and praise me for my hard work, but so what! Talk is cheap! If they started holding the other employees accountable for their own duties, I wouldn't be in such a stressful mess. Sometimes I understand why some people choose to live on the street...it is probably easier than MY JOB! I'm not even complaining about having to work hard, or even helping out other employees. It just sucks that I am taken advantage of because I have good work ethics. And, because I am there to pick up the slack from other employees, they aren't held responsible for their lack of work ethics. Needless to say, I am job searching!

And you take it out on your employees. Here you are complaining because you have to work extra hours. At least you get a bonus. Your team members, who actually DO the work that gives you that bonus, are lucky if they get a bag of leftover Halloween candy for a Christmas bonus. Then you profess to have an open door policy, yet when a team member comes to you with a complaint, you retaliate. Managers lie, threaten, and bully because that's the Walgreens way. Forgive me for not being sympathetic, but I really am sick of store managers whining about having to "work".

Walgreens customer waiting

I go to Walgreens at the very least, 5 times a week. I go to the same Walgreens because the staff is fabulous, the store is clean, and it's 5 minutes from my front door. I went today and I literally walked a few feet from the front door to the register and waited. I waited for approximately 3-4 minutes and I'm not trying to exaggerate. I waited, and waited, becoming more annoyed with each second. Finally, an associate came to the register and apologized for my wait. I was so annoyed, I didn't even acknowledge he said anything.

Today's incident was the second incident like this in just just a few months, which occurred at Walgreens. I know that if I had that many employees in one building, no customer would ever enter the premises without being greeted immediately, barring emergencies of course.

This complaint is not meant to be critical of your employees, because dealing with the public is a real pain in the @$$, I know this. Just sayin...

Okay Mellen, perhaps I could have included EVERYTHING in my Complaint. But, because none of that information matters to my Complaint, I did not. To make assumptions that I am the smoker, that I am purchasing cigarettes for my underage brother, for a person who may or may not have been in the car with us, is totally moot. One poster even asked if I expected the employees of Walgreens to anticipate my visit. HELL YES they should. They are a business IN the business of keeping their doors open with the anticipation of customers entering their premises. With that said, I'm done answering questions with answers that are irrelevent to you, the reader.

Update by Baciamicaro
Jan 07, 2011 3:52 pm EST

JDH: You are correct; the cigarettes were for an elderly neighbor and it is not my right to judge (even though I don't smoke) why he was smoking. I'm going to address that right now before I get bashed for buying cigarettes for an elderly neighbor.

Mellen: There is no mention of a third occupant in the vehicle because there was no third occupant.

So through all this speculation, insults and attacks against my judgment have yielded nothing except my curiousity as to why people are so brutal to someone they don't even know. You can get the same point across to someone without trying to belittle them. OKAY, I GET IT! I'LL DO A SHOUT OUT THE NEXT TIME I CAN'T FIND AN ASSOCIATE TO HELP ME AT THE CASH REGISTER BY THE DOOR.

Update by Baciamicaro
Jan 07, 2011 4:42 am EST

There is nothing in my posts which even suggest that I was purchasing cigarettes for my minor brother. Seriously, why does it matter who the cigs were for? Isn't that a little off point? Aren't you supposed to be bashing me some more instead of worrying about my alleged contribution to a delinquency of a minor.

Update by Baciamicaro

While I respectfully value most of your opinions, I've noticed one common theme. The theme in most of the posts is to insult me. I'd appreciate your view more, however if they were given more intelligently and constructively. Brenda, you were the first one to insult me, and I shot back. The rest of you had to chime in, not about Walgreens, but me. Personal attacks about my intelligence and behavior are unwarranted, as I didn't ask for your help in a resolution to my experience or your hurtful opinions. This is a complaint board; so far, I'm the only person who has used it for its intended use. I didn't feel I had to say in my complaint, that the cigarettes were not for me. I also didn't want to explain that my leg was in a cast and walking was awkward for me, and because my brother is underage, I had to go in.

I didn't speak to the associate when he apologized to me, because I knew there was a possibility of me being verbally ### to him, and I felt he didn't deserve it. I also didn't say anything to him as he was chewing food and wiping his chin, because I'm not a dolt and I do understand cashiers also do other things when the store is not busy.

So, in the 3-4 minutes that I peered down 3 aisles from where I was standing, and the photo center, I didn't see a customer, or an associate. Then a man whom I believed to be the Pharmacist walked in, stared at me and went to the back of the store. Shortly thereafter, the associate came to the register.

With all that being said, I truly appreciate the time you all took out of your day in order to try to intimidate, insult and well, I don't know what other emotion you are trying to evoke. YOUR behavior is uncalled for and very unkind.

Wow, I think you all now hold the title of internet bully. Congrats!

I can tell by your intolerance for other’s opinions and lack of empathy, that even trying to conduct an intelligent discussion with you, would be a total waste of my time. I find your judgmental and arrogant manner in communicating with me, to be very offensive. IT'S A CHECK OUT REGISTER...SOMEONE SHOULD BE THERE TO CHECK OUT CUSTOMERS.

However, I did chuckle at your “straw” comment, so I guess you do serve some sort of purpose.

Well seeing as though I was there to buy a pack of smokes and the smokes are at the register by the door, I guess you're the one being a pain in the @$$ right now. So, I guess in your infinite wisdom, you'd walk the whole store to find a willing employee and end up right where THEY were supposed to be. You probably work at THAT Walgreens. Maybe ask to know the entire story before you try to insult a person who you don't know. You're welcome!

If an employee can go to work and not strangle a customer in retail or food they are admirable. Especially with all the people that feel the need to ### and every petty detail in their despicable life. Which yours obviously is. "OH MY GOD, I had to wait up here for a couple minutes to ring up and this is the SECOND occurrence in 2 WHOLE months. I may decide to go elsewhere." You know what the employee is thinking? "Jesus I don't know how I can afford my rent this month, my car's breaking down, my kid is at home sick, the manager won't stop harping on me to finish the ad tags while were slow because Trisha called in...And I'm apparently responsible for every god damned thing in this store. This ### customer won't respond to me after I nicely said, 'I'm sorry for your wait.' and smiled when I feel like I'm about to scream." Admirable quality. You forget the "cashiers" are people to. Just because they're in the lowest job of this economy at least they have a ###ing job and aren't sponging off Ma and Pa but people like you need to harp about every imperfection because your retired and have nothing better to do, I guess.

Get a life.

I agree, I know that when I worked the register at a pharmacy we were told that when we were not busy we could not stand at the register doing nothing. We were supposed to go and stock or straighten the shelves or find some other busy work to do, and check the register every couple of minutes or so to see if someone was waiting and to apologize if they were. The fact that you ignored this person for doing their job is very disturbing to me, you should have at least maybe called out to see if anyone was around if you didn't want to walk around.

I don't care what store you go into, you should never have to hunt down an employee to check out. We have a Walgreen's close by, at least 1 trip/wk, and even with 7-8 employees, there are times I have to find someone to check out - most are putting stock on shelves. So what if they're busy putting stock away or helping someone else, there should always be someone @ a register. Making these insults personal is stupid, stick to the business points. Our local Rite Aid store is about the same size and usu 3-4 employees, I never have to hunt someone down.
On the other hand, let's bring the "ugly" language down a bit.

Walgreens prescription mail-order

Absolute joke. Dealing with Walgreens mail order service has been a nightmare. Sent prescription and registration information in over a month ago with credit card information. Was willing to pay an arm and leg for two day shipping. After 2 weeks with no prescription contacted the customer service line to find there was no order on file for me. After waiting for a representative, I was made aware that my order was "canceled at my request", which I never did. After prying the representative and a ten-minute hold she told me it was canceled because the incompetent employees of Walgreens entered in my insurance information incorrectly. After a 30 minute phone call, I was assured the prescription would be sent out express that day at no-charge to me. Instead I got a reassuring voicemail from a Walgreens representative 3 days later saying they need my "uh...uh...credit ca...insurance information". I gave my insurance information to Walgreens 5 times! Every representative I spoke to, which ended up being about 7 including supervisors, was absolutely incompetent. No one could ever guarantee anything. The lottery probably has better odds than getting a prescription successfully filled by these idiots. BUYER BEWARE! Stay away from Walgreens. Final resolution is that they are sending my prescription back to me. And there is a very slim chance that they'll get that right!

Walgreens cause 2 seizures now for me.

Multiple months in a row. Medications have been from 5 to 14 days late. (Literally).

I've spoken with them of my concerns, told them this isn't like an amazon order... It effects my health. Only to call back and find no record of the call and that the shipment still hasn't gone out.

I'm afraid that they will send me to the hospital.

This can NEVER happen again. (I've told them that 12 times over the past 4 months.) It appears they are getting the message.

The system is severely broken and needs to be looked at by some agency.

My insurance forced me to switch my prescription mail service from PPS (Postal Prescription Service) to Walgreens mail service. It has now been 4 months and MANY emails and phone calls later and things are STILL not right. I've had to bother my MD twice to redo prescriptions. I thought it was all finally settled except for one prescription. In February they asked for a confirmation due to a high co-pay. I have had this prescription for several years and it is pricey and incurance doesn't pay anything on it. I thought that was nice that they would check that I really wanted to pay $200. I confirmed that yes I wanted it. I never received it but did get another confirmation request. When I called to say "yes" please send, I was told that it would be more than $700.! I asked them to double check since their OWN email had said a little over $200. She got VERY snippy with me when I asked her to double check. A quick call to my previous prescription service confirmed that it would be less than $200. If you have a choice NEVER NEVER use Walgreens mail service! It has been nothing but frustration. I can apply for medicare in a few more months and can't wait to change my prescription service to one that my husband has had NO PROBLEMS with.

My Insurance requested that I use Walgreen's mail order and it has been a nightmare from day one. I ordered a 90 day supply and received 30 day. Was told that I only had a prescription for 30. Yet even on the medication it said 5 refills left. This company is a joke, They then charged my credit card again for the remainder. IM still fighting them in regards to this problem. I will never use them again.

I recently moved to a very remote rural location and thought switching to Walgreens mail order pharmacy would be a great idea. In July, filled out the online form to transfer 3 prescriptions. I was emailed a confirmation number. In August, I went to fill those prescriptions and there was no record of them. I then spent over an hour on the phone and customer chat repeating my story, my prescription numbers and insurance info to different reps. 8 days later, no prescriptions in the mail, no history of orders in my on-line account. More phone calls, more time on hold, then received conflicting emails from different depts about what's going on (including a "shipment notification" when in reality, nothing has been sent). Submitted a complaint through their form which was not addressed in return email. Result: aggravation, waste of time, ran out of anti-inflams I need for my back, and now I'll be driving 6 hrs RT to the nearest Target pharmacy. Thank goodness I don't need meds for high blood pressure or heart problems! The icing on the cake is that the link they sent to customer satisfaction survey was broken.

You are so right about all you say. Especially about how incompetent they all are on the phone or online. I've had bad experiences with this outfit too. But no more! They obviously care not about their customers. I made the mistake of giving them my credit card number. I mailed them rxs and all were marked by the dr that a generic may be substituted not that a brand name should be sent in place of a generic. One was not available as a generic so without contacting me they sent a brand name at 7 times the unavailable generic. Of course they charged me for the brand name without contacting me about the super charges.

You people had an ad in the paper about an item like Tylenol Arthritis. The ad read that if you bought one/250/bottle that you would get onr free. Every time we have checked for months now you never have it for sale.

It seems pretty chincey to me that you advertise an item and then never have it for sale when you get there. TIME AFTER TIME WE HAVE GONE TO CHECK AND YOU NEVER HAVE IT. Please do what you advertise.
