Walgreens discrimination, verbal abuse, and harassment

It is December 26th on a Thursday, and I just wanted to get out the most awful event that ever happened to me on this day, and what a horrific company Walgreens is. I worked at the company for almost 4 months. Everything in the beginning was great, and I thought I actually had a job with people who cared about me. Everyone seemed nice, and one of the old managers I used to work with told me we were like family. All of my co-workers were very sweet to me, and I felt like it was a great place to work at to make some money for myself in the meanwhile.
Then that all changed for the worst on a day in November. I was dehydrated, and I fainted on the job. The ambulance came and checked me out to make sure I was okay, and I was. Completely fine. I don't have any disorders and it was simply dehydration, plain and simple, as things happen. Everything changed. My store manager turned as cold as ice, and treated me like a leper. I was embarrassed to fall down and that was the first time something like that happened to me. I kept working and continuing on, and tried to show that I was okay. I'm a goodhearted, kind, hardworking, and sweet person.
Days ago I went into the break room as always, and on the schedule I noticed I wasn't scheduled to work. I asked one of the managers why I wasn't on the schedule. His reply was that the company is very low on funds, and were giving all of the hours to the full time workers. They could only give me 6 hours up to 12 hours. At first I didn't mind, as I am just a student and living at home. But everyone else had hours, even the part timers. I was peculiar that something was not right, and that I was completely singled out from everyone. It hurt my feelings. I came home and I cried.
Then today came, and it was the worst day I've ever experienced. I went into work just as I would any day, but I had an intuition that something was not right, and that something bad was going to happen. My intuition usually serves me right, and by god, it proved that today. They called me into the office of only being there for a short period of time at the register. There was a man and the store manager. The man apparently worked in loss prevention, but, was without a doubt, an employee who cleanses people out of the company, by framing them and fabricating lies to get an employee to stop working there. I was set up, and told that I rang up items for a lower price, in which I never ever did. I was told that this occurrence happened in the past three days, and yet I only worked on Christmas Eve. They told me they even had a video of this happening, in which they never showed me. I am only nineteen years old, and learning the cruel ways of the world. I didn't know that this happened to people all over the country in the working industry, all the time.
I was discriminated against for fainting on the job, in which that is something that I could not control and just happened. I knew that was apart of it. I was so dazed and confused when this was happening. And why? Because I never did any of it, and this was all a plan to get rid of me as an employee. They were going to suspend me and then decided what to do. But I didn't give them that option. I was, without a doubt, interrogated, harassed, bullied, and verbally abused for a while until I was so threatened and so violated that I was absolutely disgusted and repulsed by the nature of the management, and voluntarily resigned. I walked away with my dignity, held my head up high, took my last pay check that was already planned out by the deceitful management, to be cashed out on the same day and just go.
I am so glad to be away and to have left on my own volition, and to not work in a place that is full of disgusting liars, that have no remorse for their evil actions or wrongdoings. I left, and I was picked up. It was such a personal attack, and when I mentioned that to them, they scoffed at me and made me the victim. It was the most horrible, and most cruel human experience to be asserted on me in my whole life. I am the most genuine, honest, and caring person. I would never hurt a soul. I have a tender heart. But it was smashed tonight in pieces, and will be healed again someday. I feel so good for leaving them on my own, then letting them toss me out in the trash. It helps buffer what extreme abuse I endured tonight in the workplace.

This is happening Walgreens does this to weed people out. They fabricate a situation and then call the "Loss Prevention" person and accuses and tries to get you to admit to things that are not true. He does not ask he tells you that you did something that you did not. It is a ploy to get people to quit but they are doing is harassment and one should seek legal council and pursue them. They are ruining lives for no good reason than to benefit their lame company.

That is why you should attend college and find an occupation you love. Unfortunately, there are many work situations like you described. I hope you find another job were you Wilkinson not be treated like trash. You might try a mama and pop place. My son is your age and has had a positive experience in that type of environment. Hope things get better!

Walgreens online orders

Walgreens needs to remove themselves from Cyber Monday because I order a item and Walgreens said it will ship and
Items arrive in 2-5 business days.
I order on 11/29/2013 Cyber Monday and Now its 12/21/2013 and no item! Walgreens never contacted me!
Would of been nice if Walgreens would email or call to let people know that you will not get your item before Christmas so the person could shop for something else!
Now I have to go out shopping for a last minute gift for a love one.

Thanks a lot,
Happy Holidays

Walgreens walgreens does not allow exchanges on their defective products

I am totally disgusted with walgreens! You have stolen from me and are not willing to do anything to remedy the situation! I purchased a blu starter pack from store #07206 and found that the batteries did not work. I went to the store and they said that they were not willing to give me a exchange on the faulty merchandise. They said I had to call corporate and that corporate would at least give me some kind of gift certificate or something. I just got off the phone with your customer representative, and like the person at the store, was unwilling to do anything about it! This is stealing! You are using the convenience of saying that it is state law not to give refunds. Well, first off, their is no sign anywhere saying that you do not give exchanges or refunds on electronic cigarettes. Secondly, your corporate customer rep said it is written on the back of the receipt, it is not, your own customer rep was bs'ing. Even if it was on the back of the receipt you sound stupid saying that because you get the receipt after the purchase! It is like saying here is the contract after the deal is made. I am so sick of people not wanting to take responsibility! Walgreens is all about "its corporate policy" or "the system does not allow us to do that". We do not live in a world of men anymore, people just like walgreens, are content to rip off customers and just blame policy, or the system, or another department, or the government, etc. Nobody at walgreens has the courage to say yes, it is our problem selling you faulty merchandise, here is your replacement or store credit, etc... What would happen if everybody did what walgreens does? Can you imagine, I could tell all the people I pay bills to "sorry, it is family policy not to pay in cash, we have a barter system so their is nothing I can do about it". Yes, if we all took a page from walgreens, bills would not get paid, wrongs would not be righted, what if I went into walgreens and started opening merchandise to taste, try or smell and told the store staff "it is my policy to sample the products before I buy them to make sure I like them". Yes, what if starting now, I decided to go into all the walgreens stores I could find, and opened item after item, just to see what it was like? Like a 40 dollar bottle of vitamins here, a 30 dollar toy their, a bag of dog food, bottles of shampoo, candy bars, etc... Having to take all kinds of stuff off shelves because the wrapper, box, of container have been opened. It would get expensive! If walgreens can avoid being responsible adults and business people with ethical standards, then why cant their consumers do the same? So in summary I am going to post this on every possible blog I can and obviously by word of mouth tell all that I can about this situation. You corporate customer rep after telling me that she would not do a thing to remedy this situation and again, saying that policy is on the back of the receipt which is not true, ended by saying "is their anything else I can help you with today?" what a sarcastic thing to say! She presumes that she helped me with the first issue which could not be further from the truth. Instead she should say, "is their anything that I can do to shift responsibility to you or the government or anybody else regarding another walgreens purchase?"

"Even if it was on the back of the receipt you sound stupid saying that because you get the receipt AFTER the purchase! "

Calling people stupid that is real mature isn't it?

"What if I went into Walgreens and started opening merchandise to taste, try or smell and told the store staff "it is my policy to sample the products before I buy them to make sure I like them"

Then they have the right to kick you out.

"What if I went into Walgreens and started opening merchandise to taste, try or smell and told the store staff "it is my policy to sample the products before I buy them to make sure I like them""

Two wrongs make a right don't they?

Hate to break it to you. Yeah they are in the wrong but they are not the only ones acting like children.

Walgreens treated poorly

Walgreens I very upset on how I am being treated at every store. I am not even a avid customer. Maybe once every other week I go to Walgreens. I am not a shelf clearer and I most defiantly do not get anything free. I am not an extreme couponing genius by no means, I am what you would call a “normal” couponer. I get the item or items I need as well as other products that do not require a coupon. I don’t go crazy I use what I need. If others do that its none of my business and I am happy for them, but I expect to be treated differently as if they don’t even know of how other couponers act. (what im saying is, not all couponers are the same. Just like I would love to believe that every Walgreens I go into are not filled with non personality, I hate my job employees) I follow the rules and policies on Walgreens site. Now it has come to my understanding that corporate allows hateful managers to pick and choose their policies to suit their jealous, spiteful needs, even if it means having one policy one day and then changing it the next.
There are two Walgreens in my area each five miles from my home. The one that I have always went too were always rude, but I dealt with it because like I said I would only go in there ever so often. I would get items, before I would get to the counter I was always asked if I had coupons. If their question received a yes I was sent to the beauty counter to be handled by the most hateful person I have ever been checked out by. Corporate has had so many complaints about how rude this woman is, you don’t even have to say her name they already know. (This was actually told to me by another manager 10miles away at another Walgreens store!) Yet she still works there, I have complained about her once. But it was many times she was rude, I was so fed up by how she acted one day, I told her that I wanted someone else to check me out. The last time I shopped there I was told they would no longer accept a coupon on a free item. On the BOGO items in the store. I made my purchases anyway I still received a deal regardless of that new policy. I called corporate to be told that it was not correct that it was not a new policy. But It is left up to the manager of the store, what rules they want to apply.
I returned to the store to talk to the manager just to see why and to see if it was a permanent policy. Her exact words to me when asking her why? “There is a woman that uses coupons that only pays taxes on her items.” So when I said, “okay and…? Why is that bad?” She said angrily because I did not agree on her ridiculous answer, she says. “Well she clears the shelves when she coupons.” I just left there was not an answer to why that store was not taking a coupon on a free item. I am very certain the manager didn’t understand why she was so angry that a woman was getting something and only paying taxes and I am almost very certain that since she was making up her own policies and regulating them so accordingly that there was no way one “woman that coupons” could have came in and wiped the shelves clean in one day. Not to mention some coupons state how many you can use in a day or even a person. I never set foot in that store again.
I started to shop at the other store which they were so much more respectful and understanding. They know me by name and I have been told by more that one employee how much they like me and how im not like the other couponers.
Today 11/30/2013 I guess they were fed up and tired of this black Friday ad. Because I was treated so horrible I had to write this email and post it on your Facebook page. Took me 30 mins to get everything I was needing from the ad I even got things that weren’t on sale that were outrageously priced because I needed them as well. Store manager who never greets me or anyone, came out the back as I was placing things on the opposite counter to get my transactions ready not to hold up anyone. He looked at me for a few seconds staring at my buggy and such until I said, “Good Morning!” He smiled and walked on. I was checking out, no problems at all. Cashier gets a phone call. “Yes, shes still here.” Looks at me. “ Umm well she has, ” looks in my bag of already purchased items and starts to count and read off to him what I have already bought. “ 4 boxes of pure moist eye, 2 crest toothpaste, 1 infant Tylenol….oh okay.” She hangs up then tells me I have to wait for the Assistant Manager to come and count my items. AM comes and says, “She is fine we like her she doesn’t clear the shelves as long as she has 4 or less of each item that gives a RR she can purchase it.” And she leaves. I did not get everything that required a RR, like I said I only get what I need. I do one transaction and then move to the back of the line so the next customer can go… that way no problems and the manager that calls from the back doesn’t have to get their lazy butts up to run the other register. And you have no angry customers except for the couponers that you decide to treat like crap.
10 min later, Cashier gets another call. She looks at me and says, “Yes.” I guess that manager wanted to see if I was still there? Then my card stops a transaction and she doesn’t know why. Which was okay cause I needed more change. I have hit my 10 transactions a day limit. I didn’t know there was a limit on transactions, but I knew there was nothing they could do about it. I had my moms keychain card, I asked if I could use that to pay for the transaction I was going to get. AM said yes. It wasn’t even a transaction that was going to give me a RR I was get the 5$10 pizzas. Then I said, is it okay if I go get my change and leave my buggy here I will return. Cashier and AM both say yes. I went got my change and my mom, I had a feeling there was going to be a problem. I returned not even 5min later and no one was at the front I see the Cashier putting up something I thought was in my buggy and since my buggy was not where I left it…..
Cashier comes up to the counter “Wow you are quick.” she gets another phone call and says, “ Yes shes back…okay.” The AM then comes around the corner and says, “is there something in particular you want from your buggy?” I said, “Yes?... Am-“ Is there anything in particular you want that doesn’t require a RR, the reason why im asking is that you hit your limit and I know you have there fore I cant let you purchase any more items with your card.” I said, “Ill go get my mom its her card she can purchase the rest. (she was in the truck waiting if she needed me or not) and I turned to go get her. AM says, “no you cant, since you told me its your moms card and that stuff was what you picked out, so its stuff you were getting not your mom, the manager already knows the stuff in that buggy was yours and you hit your limit for the day. I could get fired if I let you continue even if your mom comes in here.” Just FYI to corporate the rest of the stuff in the buggy was for my mom, Restless leg crème, heat wraps, foot crème and it was one of each I could have stocked piled those items but it has quick expiration dates. Since all the items gave out a RR I said the only thing I could think of remembering that didn’t give a RR back would have to be the tape dispenser. Already on the brink of tears for being humiliated in the middle of the store in front of other customers as if I was a thief. I went to the counter to be rung up, to finally make it up to the counter and the cashier telling me the AM would ring me up that the AM told me that because she was listening. Me- “ I didn’t hear her say that, she didn’t say that when she handed me back my item?” So again being humiliated I waited for her to call the AM and ask, “Weren’t you going to ring her up? Okay.” I left. I don’t know why i still bought something. I was trying to remember how nice they had acted about watching my buggy and the AM when I got there before any of this saying, they were getting a truck in a hour and they are really lenient on Saturdays the end of the ad so I could get more of the items If i wanted. But when I got home and looked through my transactions and just the humiliation of how I was being treated at that store not to mention the other. I think its time that I no longer shop at any of Walgreens locations anymore. I am returning all of my merchandise today I expect every cent returned to me. I will also snip my card up at the counter. My mother will do the same she is also transferring all her prescriptions to another pharmacy chain. I will do so in the future as well. Not only will this be emailed, im putting it up on your Facebook page, and any other website that shows Walgreens as a place to shop. Just FYI there were 10 transactions. 20 items purchased.

Walgreens Wrongful Termination

I was wrongfully terminated today and I have worked for Walgreen's for over eight years. I have been in a constant battle with this company since Dec. 2012 when I told on a Store Manager for discrimination, retaliation and unfair treatment in the workplace. They have went out of their way to try to fire me by nitpicking everything I do, but not verbally or writing up other Managers for the same behavior. i was told that I was not in the proper dress code (Walgreen's vest) as well as I pencil employee's in the schedule without speaking to higher management before. It crazy because, our new uniforms have not been enforced. There are four other managers not in uniform, but they were not terminated, all managers have to adjust the schedule due to other employee's calling out. No one else was verbally or written up for this as well. Before I could our District Office to file a complaint against my store manager he let me know by saying, "This only going to be bad for you." This means I ruin my whole Walgreen's career because he was going to make sure I was never promoted again and he was now out to fire me. I was constantly harassed and I felt like I was being bullied at work. With our new store manager, I thought things would get better, but our District Office was still plotting against me. I was told that my final writeup from the previous manager is the reason I was terminated today. I was never verbally or written up for writing employee's in on the schedule and dress code. That is not in my final write up. The morale of the story is everyone at our District Office are friends when you think your being helped because Loss Prevention handles a case, its not true. They only lookout for themselves not the employee. These Store Managers are quick to retaliate when you tell on them, my Store Manager was racist and he did plays favorites with the unfair treatment. He did discriminate me by nitpicking, but never nitpicking anyone else.

Walgreens favoritism

I have worked for this store for many years and for many years the Store Manager Michele Jackson has shown favoritism to certain employees. Shelia Smallwood, Patricia Williams and Rita Biehn (which husband works for Walgreens). We have been through so many managers, not because it was we got a email about transferring, but because a manager was doing their management duties and making sure Walgreens polices are being followed, Patricia Williams will always go to Mrs. Jackson or call the District Manager and claim the MGT was being racist toward her. There are more than enough employees and managers that can agree with what I'm saying. I just think if corporate or the District Manager of Virginia Beach, knew what really goes on in that store #07116, that they would be very upset. You have people quitting, coming to work feeling like they are in a hostile environment, favoritism, being harassed, can't talk to the store manager without her telling other employees.

Walgreens lies/discrimination

My complaints is this. I recently about 2 months back switched to walgreens for all my diabetic prescription's.in september I went in to have my prescription filled, in september my doctor gave me high blood pressure (Benicar). The pharmacy filled 30, when I got home I seen the 30, so I thought it was for 30 days, I got down to my 30 days and noticed on the bottle that my doctor wanted me to take 2 per day, so I called walgreens and spoke with a pharmacist, and had explained to her about what my bottle had read, she told me that they only gave me 30 because they did not have enough to fill 90, and someone should have called me to let me know that the other 60 was ready, which there is no calls from walgreens on my caller id, they put them back on the shelf after billing my insurance for them. I have already called my insurance about this matter. Well monday when I talked to the female pharmacist, she told me that I can get an emergency supply for 5 days, but my doctor would have to get this prior authorization filled in and sent in, which could take up to 5 days, I called my doctor on tuesday morning and the nurse filled this out and faxed it over. Today 10/17/2013 I went into walgreens to get this emergency medication (Blood pressure) for 5 days, and the pharmacist (Male-red hair) told me, he cant do that, I would have to pay 52.00 dollars or I cant have them. I am on disability and I can not afford this kind of money, and I have two insurances. I called my doctor when I got home in tears, and the nurse fixed this situation, don't know how but she did. I do believe that walgreens was discriminating against me, and my disability, considering the pharmacist even called a manger up to speak with me about this matter. This will be posted all over the world wide web, because this is wrong and walgreens knows it was.

I don't think they were discriminating but they certainly mistreated you as a customer. I am sick of seeing paying customers and hard working people spend money and get treated as if the they owe the store something.
My experiences with Walgreens have been getting worse. They find it cheaper to pay for the liability than to hire a good worker and pay them a good salary.
Try another pharmacy, maybe a locally owned store that values the people that shop it!

Walgreens refusing to fill scripts

I take a class 4 drug (Alprazolam generic for Xanax), my insurance company states
that I can get it refilled when 75% of medication is used, however, the local store
for Walgreens absolutely refuses to fill the prescription until the very last day. Walgreens has no policy for filling for scripts, it's at the discretion of the pharmacists.
All or most are Indian and seem to feel they are better than anyone else. I went to
another Walgreens and the pharmacist said "sure it can be filled". Walgreens needs
to set up a system and follow it through such as CVS and Rite Aid. My son is a
pharmacist for CVS so I can't use them and Rite Aid pharmacists are also mostly
Indian. They are a horrible company, broke some law and were fined billions of
dollars by the DEA in PA. Not a good sign!

If you are reading this, it is very likely that you have fallen victim to the infuriating dilemma of not being able to fill your duly authorized Hydrocodone prescription. I too have observed the "we're all out" stonewalling so common at numerous Walgreens throughout the country. Indeed, I witnessed multiple occasions over the last month during random observational visits to investigate this matter, where customers with valid scripts for Hydrocodone were turned away rather curtly by Walgreens pharmacy staff. How do I know the scripts were for Hydrocodone? Because I asked the customer in the parking lot, explaining that I was investigating the seemingly impossible task of getting a script for this commonly prescribed pain medication filled on a timely basis.

Before I continue, I should make it clear that it is all too obvious, that the rank and file employees at Walgreens have become toughened by the company's insipid policies that make it virtually impossible for them to offer the kind of customer service that we have every right to expect. Indeed, the responses from staff ranged from contrite and apologetic (mostly when talking to the aged), to curt and rude. What I found extremely disturbing however, was an obvious pattern of treating poor and minority customers with attitudes that can only be described as ranging from condescending, to downright rude. If you are a poor non-white minority individual in need of prescription pain medication, not only will Wallgreens staff treat you badly, but they will often seem to take cruel pleasure in turning you away while simultaneously making you feel like a common criminal. Yes, sometimes they even laugh at you behind your back. Because many of these individuals lack the understanding of their rights, most seem to contritely accept even the worst treatment.

On the other hand, I obsrved a professionaly dressed (suit and tie) white male, who simply refused to be put off. He correctly stated that his prescription was valid, that he had been taking this medication for many months, and that he had dealt with this Walgreens exclusively. He was very insistent that the pharmacy assist him in obtaining the medication by either having it couriered from another location, or at least contacting other branches in order to locate one that had it. He was quite determined, and intimated that he had placed this order several days prior, and had had quite enough of their excuses. He also made it clear that he had no intention of suffering withdrawal symptoms, and he then produced the Walgreens paperwork indicating the symptoms he could expect were his pain medication abruptly discontinued. This seemed to be the turning point in the interaction. Clearly this customer was not going to accept the curt "we are out and have no idea when we will have it in stock" answer. Instead he rightly placed the responsibility on Walgreens. Once it was clear this man wasn't leaving without satisfaction, the staffer agreed to call around to find a store that had his medication. Eventually, they did find one and the man left, presumably, to obtain his pain medicine. (Note, I did not interview him because HE indicated revealed that it was Hydrocodone.)

What is clear from this observation, is that Walgreens pharmacies operate on a unwritten policy of "white, well-dressed, squeaky wheel gets the grease" This is disturbing on so many levels, I'm not sure what else to say.

Clearly the new regulations regarding Hydrocodone are creating massive problems for people who should never have to face them. These are people operating in good faith, who have the misfortune of requiring strong pain relief medication. That there are many, many people in need of this medication is not at all surprising. The U.S. population is aging, and many are still finding it necessary to work well into, what would ideally be, their retirement years. Hydrocodone, for all of its vilification by the DEA and certain politicians, is keeping many of its users as hard working tax paying members of society. At the same time, less than 1% of patients on pain medication are getting into serious trouble with the drugs. The automobile industry, in contrast, could only dream of such a record for safety with their products.

I've chosen to single out Walgreens, because they are the largest pharmacy in America. They claim to offer kind, knowledgable, and compassionate service. And to be fair, I saw many examples of this during my investigation. However, once again, we are seeing people whose needs fall outside what I will call "the easy to satisfy norm, " who are being made to feel like they are simply too much trouble to help. The DEA and the burdensome new regulations placed on Hydrocodone are almost totally to blame. However, Walgreens staff also seems to consistently show indifference, or to even take pleasure in withholding service from poor and minority customers who have just as real a need for pain relief, as the well dressed professional white men. That is simply unacceptable.

They treat you poorly even if you are white as well. I dont think Color is a factor. This is a case where some people get off thinking they have some sort of power and they hide behind short sighted policies. Walgeens is the absolute worst when it comes to this issue. Sadly, as the patients, we do not have any recourse.

I have been facing the same problems as everyone else who is taking pain medications for chronic pain. I have been taking the same medications for over 15 years and had my doctor reduce my breaktrough medication (Morphine IR) from 4 each day to 2 each day about 2 years ago. So I now take less than I took when I first began pain management program. I have been seeing the same pain management specialist for just over 5 years at the same location. I used to take my prescriptions to the Walgreens in the same shopping center/medical arts shopping center as my doctor, but after Walgreens established their new prescription policies only the pharmacy manager will fill them. If the PIC (Pharmicist In Charge) is not there the other pharmacists will tell me they don't have them. If the PIC is there I have no problem. So I recently tried to fill my prescriptions with the same Walgreens, but the PIC was not on duty so I was told they did not have my prescriptions. I then asked the pharmacist to keep the prescriptions until they can verify them with my doctor just like their new policy states on Walgreen's signs in the pharmacies or they can let the PIC fill them and I will pick them up another day. I have learned to always have several extra pills on hand just in case this happens so I am never caught without my medication and I can wait, if I need to, until I can get them filled. However, I was shocked when the pharmacist refused to keep my prescriptions and hold them to verify or let the Pharmacy manager fill them. The pharmacist stated that it was Walgreen's policy not to hold schedule 2 prescriptions which directly conflicts with the new Walgreeen's sign explaining the verification procedure for filling narcotics may result in a few days wait time if you leave the prescription with the pharmacist. I questioned the pharmacist about the new signs and was told that I should take my prescriptions with me and call in a few days to see if the medications were in yet. I asked when the PIC would be working and was told he would be there the next day. I returned the next morning and the PIC filled my prescriptions with no problem and no verificarion since I had been filling the same prescriptions there for over 5 years from the same doctor whom the PIC personally knew. I then asked the PIC why this was happening and was told that it is up to the individual pharmacist what they choose to fill even if it violates the company policy and the pharmacist I went to the previous day had a personal policy of never filling any type of controlled medications for anyone. The PIC told me that Walgreens will not take any action against a pharmacist/employee for refusing to fill a controlled prescription since it is up to them. My question is why is Walgreen's lying and why don't they just print new signs stating that it is up to the pharmacist whether or not he/she fills any prescription. I think Walgreen's is doing it this way because they think that the pharmacist/employees may be violating the law by refusing to accept controlled prescriptions for verification. The way I read the law it states under Florida state law and federal law that a pharmacist must excercise due dilligence in determining that a prescription is legitimate, properly written, has no contraindications with other medications the patient may take, is filled at the correct times, and is labeled for use consistent with the patient's symptoms. I think that the way the laws are written require a pharmacist to accept any prescription and fill it, but only after it has been properly verified. I see no provision in the laws I have read that specifically give pharmacists the right to refuse to accept a prescription the laws only require pharmacists to comply with the proper verification procedures. I believe many pharmacists just find it easier to refuse to accept a prescription than to spend the time to talk with the doctor/provider and confirm the prescription is valid. A pharmacist is completely protected by the law if the pharmacist complies with the proper procedures to verify the prescription. If the pharmacist documents the discussion with the doctor/provider when the provider instructs the pharmacist to fill the prescription and there are no potential medical risks associated with that particular prescription as it is written then there is no way I can imagine that pharmacist risking anything. I agree that it is part of the responsibility of a pharmacist to evaluate any potential medical risks associated with a prescription he is filling, but once the pharmacist has determined that no such risk is present then a pharmacist has no right to second guess why a doctor/provider is treating the patient with that type of medication. Once again, when a pharmacist has verified that the prescription was written by the doctor/provider siging the RX (ie. no forgery), the doctor/provider is legally able to write a prescription for that medication, the patient is filling the prescription on time, the patient is properly identified, the medication written is labeled for the patients symptoms, and the patient is not taking other medications that could cause problems with the prescription being filled then the pharmacist has a duty to fill that prescription. I think the answer is to begin filing lawsuits against the pharmacist directly every time a proper prescription is refused. If we all began this process every pharmacist would be having to take days off every week to defend his refusal in court. It would begin to affect the pharmacist financial position and possibly cause pharmacist to loose their jobs by missing so much work by being in court. I don't think such lawsuits could be considered frivolus since there is a strong legal basis for such a lawsuit, therefore even if the pharmacist won a few of these cases they would have to spend large amounts of their own money defending their decisions. The pharmacist's employers would probably refuse to pay any such legal expenses and in fact the employers may insist that the pharmacist fill all properly verified prescriptions regardless of their personal beliefs in order to avoid legal complications for the employer and lost time in court. After a few hundred of these cases are filed the pharmacist will have no choice but to comply with the laws and accept all prescriptions and properly verify the controlled ones then fill all the correcly written prescriptions. The lying about being out of a certain medication has got to stop and pharmacists need to become a productive member of the medical community again like they were once upon a time.

Walgreens discrimination of disabled person

Walgreens Pharmacy discriminates against disabled people who have valid prescriptions for pain medication and today really took the cake when they refused to fill a prescription for Lidocaine Ointment 5% by telling me that "we don't feel comfortable filling this prescription" and when I asked why they just re-stated the same comment except added "we have been told to tell you that we don't feel comfortable filling this prescription". Meanwhile, for the last 5 years they have felt "comfortable" filling my prescription for Vivelle Dot (hormone patches for menopause). They are listed as a "preferred provider" by both Medicare and United Healthcare but refuse to fill certain prescriptions. THIS IS BLATANT DISCRIMINATION in my opinion. THEY SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM BOTH MEDICARE/MEDICAID AND UNITED HEALTHCARE AS A PREFERRED PROVIDER.

Walgreens discrimination/precription rejected

I am outraged and sick and tired of trying to get my medications filled without being totally discriminated against and basically tagged a "drug addict." I was involved in a serious car accident that nearly claimed my life over 20 years ago. I was in rehab for 5 months and then another year of outpatient therapy to piece together my shattered neck and body. I had to learn how to walk/talk/eat/get dressed again. From that day on my physical/mental life was never the same. I never took precription drugs to combat the chronic debilitating pain that I have endured religously since that dreadful night. That was until four years ago when the pain was so intense that it rendered me immobile and basically in a fetal position. I went to a pain specialist and went through a series of different medications to combat the pain. Finally we found a medication that WORKED which was Roxycodone. I never felt such relief in 20 years of chronic pain. It was like God answered my prayers. I went into Walgreens a few days ago to get my Prescriptions filled. They had the medication and they have a 72 hour " well let me decide if I want to fill it or not policy." I spoke with the pharmacist and also brought my MRI results in to PROVE my medical condition. He didnt even care to read my MRI results. He was pompous and rude. I never felt so belittled and discriminated against in my life. He asked me why my previous pharmacy could not fill it and I told him they were completely backlogged 5 weeks out for the Roxycodones. I left the pharmacy and returned home only to be in bed immobile, fetal position, waiting for an answer...an answer that provoked me to take action. I received a call from the pharmacist and he told me that I did not qualify for there good faith refilling policy? He said he could not tell me the reasons as to why it was denied as company policy dictates this as well as having every Walgreens alerted about me . I WAS OUTRAGED. What the hell is going on? This is crazy, I said to myself. I have reliously gone to my Doctor every month to receive my Prescriptions. I am not a drug addict nor have I gone outside of my doctors orders to receive this medication. I follow the rules and had never deviated from it. The only thing that I had done was go to different pharmacies to get my meds filled, only if my primary pharmacy was out of stock. Something needs to be done as these pharmacists and there Corp dictate who gets medication and who doesnt. Is there anything that we as consumers can be done to change this horrid situation? I know that my medication is a hugely popular drug amongst the druggies out there, but this medication is what gets me barely through a day. I am totally disgusted with someone else dictating what is good for me and what is not. I am going to contact my local TV stations out here as well to bring this issue to life. It's my life mission to rally for legitimate chronic pain sufferers, like myself, whom have tried other forms of therapy( I tried everything to relieve my pain without meds with ZERO success). I am tired of having no voice when it comes to being a victim in this situation. I am BOYCOTTING Walgreens and everything associated with it. I am disgusted with the non-compassion in terms of these Pharmacists who are playing god now and making me and 1000's of other legitimate chronic pain sufferers to struggle, with these companies, to get the proper medicines that we need to get through 1 day of life.

I found out a lot what Walgreen's has done. As they make us feel like drug Addicts and reject you time after time telling you that you don't meet the requirements or they don't have the medication while the next person in line has their s given to them for the same meds, Walgreen's over prescribed these meds by hundreds. They where giving out 900 of the 30's per month to patients and they got fined around 8 million dollars. So to treat us like this when it was their fault and to treat us like drug addicts and we don't need so many in one month is an insult. We need an attorney for class action

Because Walgreens is doing this everywhere now. I was Discriminated against here in Tucson, Az I have been going to Walgreens since my accident and than my Surgery and getting the same Script filled out as the same one now that the same person says I don't the requirements for. He even laughed in my face when I told him I was bed ridden until this medication call my doctor and see. Also look at my history and you will see you guys have filled it now for the past few years, the same script you are laughing at me now because I am disabled and will go back to bed ridden if you don't fill it.

Walgreens pharmacy personnel

Hello I was at the lincoln illinois walgreens picking up meds for my mother.
At this time it was not busy, actually there was a gentlemen at the register already had his meds was checking out. No other customers waiting etc. I have had a serious leg injury and had my habd on the counter away from the gentlemen for a little support to take some of the weight off my leg. This nikki person was not being very nice to the gentlemen as he asked her a few questions as I observed. She was blunt and appeared annoyed period. Which is not any of my concern his business and how he was treated is not either. This nikki person as she was finishing ringing him up on the register said in a very sbrupt voice and gesture for me to get in line! Move! Like I was a child she was scolding. Needless to say this had been a very short time and I dont think I was wrong or did anything to provoke her attitude!
The gentlemen no thank you no nothing. Then I stepped over and she said you will have to wait, and called another staff member over to take care of me... This nikki was rude period and not walgreens professional or a walgreens friendly person. The next girl no I did not get her name I was very upset but she was friendly polite etc like I am accustomed to at lincoln walgreens. After receiving mothers neds a friend came and helped back out of the store as I was passing cosmetic counter I believe her name is regina asked if I was alright because it was evident I was not. I asked if the manager for the store was over the pharmacy as well she called a assistant manager whom both these women were very friendly nice concerned as I do go into the store alot. I have always used walgreens when I am home or away it has been my store for years. As they couldnt help me I asked then who was the manager of the phamacy and they said "nikki" I was just appauled this girl is the assistant manager of the pharmacy with her attitude? I am very distraught and right now I am re-thinking going to walgreens for anything. May sound like this was trivial but indeed it was not! I am letting you know for the sake of others. I have seen the pharmacy packed and never ever been treated rudely by any staff at the lincoln walgreens I have always felt good when I go there for anything but... Thank you

Walgreens unethical business practices

Walgreens has gone downhill fast, as I have dealth with Walgreens since the 80's but recently had problems. Due to my Insurance Coverage, I had to get a pneumonia shot at their Clinic. The wait time on their website was inaccurate, and I was harassed by the Technician prior to the shot about my Insurance Coverage, who did pay the bill. The next day I had pain and itching from the shot, which persisted for months causing additional doctor visits! Trying to get photos developed, I had to listen to the employee complaining about his job. Purchasing women's flip flops without a price, resulted in my being overcharged because the Clerk was lazy and used a men's flip flop for comparision. I did get a letter from the Walgreens District Office to call them, but they failed to give me their phone number, so I contacted the appropriate medical and legal sources to investigate, but the public needs to know!

Walgreens id request

They have a new pharmacist who has filled scripts for me many times. She knows who I am. Everytime I go to have a controlled substance filled, she asks for ID. Michigan law says if you know the customer you don't have to ask for ID, yet she insists. She acts like God.

Walgreens pricing policies, rewards programs

I recently went to Walgreens and thought I would receive rewards for items I purchased but was told that I did not get them because I used coupons which lowered the price I paid which is not right. I also did not get the register rewards on items that I bought because I had used my register rewards from my card. This also is disturbing and I will no longer go to Walgreens because these policies are a little ridiculous and will be spending my money at RiteAid which has a better rewards program. Also I went on a Saturday and some of the items that I bought did not ring up correctly and were in the circular and had to have my bill adjusted. Seems that on Saturday they take all of the sales prices off and must change the register so you really need to watch then the items are being rung up. Like I said I will not be shopping at Walgreens due to all of the hoops you have to jump through to get the sales.

Walgreens pill shortages

Unfortunately I discovered after 3 weeks that my usual pharmacy has shorted me again in regards to my pill count of my monthly pain medication. The 1st time was easy to find out since they shorted me nearly half of my medication of Carisoprodol (generic SOMA). The most recent event of pill shortage was only just discovered when it came time to fill my daily pill holder for my 3rd of 4 weeks. Presumably too late to report the shortage at the pharmacy to gather the difference. I sent them an Email about this issue of missing Oxycodones approximately 25-30 of 120ct. and Carisoprodol about 15-20 of 90ct. Too small an amount to be instantly noticable like the previous shortage several months ago, but I am very upset about this and refuse to use Walgreens anymore. I would be willing to "testify" should any further actions require. Thank You, Walter Becker

Omg. USUAL pharmacy shorts control med. Narcotics. Yet innocent and trusting Mr Pecker uses their services again! Only to be cheated AGAIN! Do these people have any idea how stupid they appear to be. Fortunately, to prevent any criminal behavior that may affect other fine customers, Pecker is willing to "testify". Why do I torment myself reading crap from ###ic complainers like this? Because, I can laugh through my tears in peace at home, no phone ringing, no fool staring at me in rage as I try to work, no interruptions regarding the location of something not REMOTELY related to my job. So I can face another day with it.

Walgreens defamation of character, infliction of emotional distress, causing physical pain

For 6 months my doctor has written me a pain script for 60 pills each month but they are to take at a minimum of 1/2 a tablet twice a day or more when needed (hence the 60 pills each month). Walgreens have refused to give me more that 30 pills each month which has caused me to be unable to manage my pain. When I finally talked to a pharmacist about it for the 2nd or 3rd time, she accused me of using more pills than directed when I asked to fix the repeated error and give me the rest of my pills. She actually said I bet you don't have any pills and is why you are calling about it and being so "emotional". I had so many unfilled hand written scripts because of the months of giving me half my script that I took them in the store, confronted her defamatory comments with my unempty bottle of pills, and brought my unfilled scripts, asked her to do math, and called my doctor. He told me she was treating me like a drug addict and he got on the phone with her. Guess what. All of a sudden I'm not a drug addict and I got my 60 pills. They did nothing to apologize as I walked away with my prescription profile to CVS. They assaulted my character with no evidence and put me through hellish pain for no reason. This needs to be addressed to the fullest possible remedy.

Walgreens pharmacy

I used the drive thru at the Walgreen on lemmon drive in lemmon valley nevada this afternoon to pick up my prescription and after I had driven away I stopped to check and see why I had been charged so much for my prescriptions. When I looked in the bag there were two additional items with my prescriptions that I did not ask for. I then went into the pharmacy and told them that there were additional items put in my bag and that I was charged for them. The lady that was helping me was extremely rude and the boy standing behind her said oh I put those in there and said "my bad" but you weren't, charged for them. I informed her that I was charged for them and that I did not want the items and that I would like my money back for these items. She said" well maybe the doctor thought you needed them and called in these prescriptions". Really, are you kidding me. I have never heard of such a thing in my life. A doctor just adding stuff to your prescriptions and not even informing you of that. And besides that these were not prescriptions they were otc allergy medicines. A manager then had to be called over to handle the refund. He took care of the refund and handed me a receipt that had the amount of the refund on it. When I checked at my bank it shows that I have been charged the full amount for everything that was mistakenly put in my bag and there is no amount showing for a refund. I would like to know why my bank account has not been credited for the amount that I was charged for these two additional items. I will be transferring my prescriptions elsewhere and will not be shopping at Walgreens again nor will I ever recommend Walgreens to anyone. Very disappointed with the service at Walgreen s There are a lot of people in this world that are unemployed and would appreciate being able to work so it seems to me that these employees at Walgreen s should take there jobs more seriously.

After recovering from a hysterectomy I had to wait in the pick up line because this Walgreens had their drop off window closed. Now after waitng 45-50 minutes in line the one tech that was attending customer decided to give the most unproffesional and rude service that I have ever recieved from any Walgreens. When I got to the counter I told her I wanted to get a presciption filled for my son .Her name is Patricia( she wears glasses and a pony tail). she told me she had to see if the drug was in stock and put my pescription down and preceded to start give other people that were in line behind me their presciptions. By the time she was on a second customer behind me, , I interupted her and ask her why would I have to stand the and wait for her to take care on everyone else before she could even tell me if they have ther drug in stock. She became very rude and told me that I should have went to the consulting window and she said it in an insulting way like I didnt know how to read .But I told her the drop off window says come to pick up window not consulting window. Then I asked her why should I have to wait until she gives everyone there presciption before she would even check then she tells me quote "she on the phone"in a smart matter referring to the pharmacist. At this point I was very upset and dissapointed, I had been going this Walgreens for over 16 years. I told her to give my presciption back and I told my daughter to put her school supplies back because I no longer wanted anything else from this store this was on 11/10/09 @ approximatelybetween6 -7:15 pm at night becasue when I got to Walgreens it was about6:20 and there were eight people in line in fron of me. there was also an older gentle man in front of me she had done him the same way . This person had no people skills or professional skills was very rude and incompetent. When customers go to Walgreens they go there to get the best service or so I thought . This location is horrible and it sad that one person can make this store loose its valueble customers. I hope this complaint is also seen by Walgreens Corporate offices because changes need to be made before I even think about going back there.

In the past week we have had very bad experience with the service of some of your stores in the pharmacy area. And the thing is we changed from Walmart one cause it's closer to our house and two it's suppose to have better service.I have a question (why can't you refill a prescription when there is still an hour and a half to close?)My husband was released from the emergency like about 7:30 that night and I took the prescription right away, the store was closeing at 9:00pm and they said I had to go to the one that is open 24 hrs.Can you imagine how hard it was for my husband to have to ride and wait more with pain.I hope you can answer this for us.Thank-you Pat D.

EVERYTIME, Once a month, I have to deal with the ###s that work at the Walgreens Pharmacy and it is not just 1 location. They have implemented a Call Center filled with Rude, Uneducated idiots that hang up on you if they cannot answer your question. It is becoming harder to get directly to the ###s at the physical Pharmacy location.

My Doctor's office has to Fax in AND Call in my prescription refills, regardless of whether I refill with their automated system or with a ### from the call center or pharmacy. They just cannot process a simple request.

What is Walgreens Corporate doing about this problem...people do not pick up meds for fun they pick them up because they need to take them and Walgreens makes this a nightmare every single time.

I have alot of prescriptions that need to be refilled and that is why they are on automatic refills because I can not remember them all that is why I did it in the first place. If I continue to have problems I will swich pharmacies, I would really appreciate it if would get this resolved. Thank You Terry Seth

DO NOT let Walgreens tell you "we are short a few pills" They will make you repay your insurance deductible. I had an order for the Polk St. Walgreens. They were short three pills--I ended up flying home before they had the remainer of my prescription Guess what, they wanted me to pay my co-pay again for the remainder three pills. I paid the full co-pay the first time for my particial order.

DO NOT BELIEVE them when they say "oh just go into your local pharmacy when you get home and they'll get you the remaining pills--yes they will but you'll be out another co-pay much less the hassle with driving back to pick up drugs.

Numerous talks with both the manager on Polk St. San Fran. Walgreens and the Lexington MN Walgreens both resulted in the same thing--NO, we will charge you despite it BEING their fault. IF they can't fill completely then go to another pharmacy and you'll save the headache and money.

I have my prescriptions on auto refills to be shipped to me. My refills were due several days ago and have not arrived. The individual store, customer service and the warehouse do not know what happened to my order, except that it was filled over a week ago and my credit card was charged. They have no record of CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES being shipped. They also have no communication between each other and keep giving me the run around with different phone numbers I have to call. They won't do anything to help me and won't let me pick my prescriptions up in the store because their "computers" say it was already filled. I am definitely switching pharmacies after this latest fiasco. They are unprofessional idiots that probably graduated last in their class, it's amazing some of them are actually pharmacists!

Today I went to Walgreens to get my prescription filled and a nice lady said I will be with you in a moment. I said okay and thank you. A few minutes later she took my prescription to fill it. I told her I was going to the restroom but would be back when I thought she was finished. I came back from the restroom and a young lady said. I was just looking for you. I've never met her in my life so I felt that was a weird statement. She proceded to say I need your insurance card. I told her I have a new insurance let me get the card for you. I gave her my card and she said we don't take your insurance. I said excuse me that could not be right. She said you heard me then she said it very slow as if I had a hearing problem. I said I hear you but I'm certain I have insurance and that is the card. She said well we don't take that insurance. I had just left my Doctors office and they took the card I couldn't understand. I then call one of my close friends from my job that I knew had just used our new insurance and she said she had her childrens prescription filled. My friend said we have a card just for prescriptions. Then she told me the name of the card. I found the card in my wallet because our insurance gave us 8 different cards. I pull it out thanked my friend and hung up the call. The young lady said oh you do have the right card. You should have given me that card in the first place. I can not believe this lady did not say Ms. do you get a pharmacy card when they sent you insurance cards, Oh my goodness! I asked for my perscription back and drove to CVS down the street. I walked up to pharmacy all they asked me is for my pharmacy card and my Doctors name. I've been to a different Walgreens and I'm in their system. I've never gone to CVS to the pharmacy and they customer service there was extremely better.

I have been using Walgreens on Camp Bowie Bld. in Fort Worth Texas for more than 10 years and spend an average of $350 per month on presciption drugs at Walgreens. I am now going to switch to a locally owned pharmacy or CVS. The reason is that I wait in line or wait for service on average 20 minutes each visit. This is even the case on Sunday mornings when there is not a single person in line. The reason seems to be the lack of staffing. Most of the staff I have encountered are very nice. The problem is there is one staff person covering the counter and drive through lane. Making matters even worse is that this Walgreens has the double drive through lane. This makes no sense because there is still only one staff person working both lanes and the inside counter. When I was in MBA school we analyzed Walgreens and found that something like 60% of their revenue comes from the Pharmacy. So why would Walgreens dissapoint so many customers that there are multiple sites that appear when "Googling" Walgreens Sucks or Walgreens poor customer service.

Tonight while waiting in the drive through lane again (this time 25 minutes) I vowed to switch pharmacies and tell others about my experience in hopes Walgreens would pay attention to the problem. I love my city and think Walgreens is a poor community citizen to behave in the manner they do.

The Walgreen's on McCausland Ave. is horrble. They constantly are unable to refill my medications because they are out of them, they almost never call to let me know that my meds can't be refilled, they have lost a refill, and left my insulin on the counter instead of the fridge. I don't know what the deal is, but something has got to change.

Walgreens nazi... communism

As I am reading tHru tHe many complaints about Walgreens Pharmacy, one thing stands out in my mind...Nazi Germany, and all the Walgreens have an Adolph Hitler as a Pharmacy Manager. It is also comparable to Cuba with its Communism...they like that in their stores. Poor Employees that have to work there. Now I know why they are all so unhappy...the public needs to boycott this joke of a store and pharmacy. There are much better places to shop, other then Walgreens!

Walgreens defamation of character... called my dr.

I decided to try Walgreens Pharmacy to fill my new Prescriptions, as opposed to CVS, which I have used for years. First, one of the drugs I take is Ambien, which is a controlled drug. It have huge sleep issues, and without this medication, I do not sleep more then 2 hours a night. The first thing Walgreens did, was mess up on my Insurance billing, which caused me to run out of my pills, and I could not get any for 5 days. So, out of sheer disgust, I told them I wanted my script sent back over to CVS, and they agreed to call CVS and transfer my script to them. Cvs called me, saying they wanted to verify that I did want my script moved back to them, and wanted to make me aware that if I did transfer the script, I would loose all refills on my medication, except for 1, due to Connecticut laws regarding controlled drugs. So, I ended up telling CVS just to send the script back over to Walgreens, and I would refill it there until the refills were out, then the next script, I would take to them. The lady at CVS said ok, she would take care of it, and call Walgreens back and let them know what's going on. Now, fast forward to today...I get a voicemail on my phone, and it was my Doctors office, saying that Walgreens Pharmacy called my Doctor, and told him that I was getting my Ambien filled at 2 different pharmacies...at CVS AND Walgreens! I was floored! I didn't know what they were talking about, and my Doctors office was closed. So, I called Walgreens, spoke to the Pharmacist, who proceeded to tell me that the Pharmacy Manager, Samantha, called my Doctor, and told him that I was having my prescription filled at BOTH pharmacies, and because of this my Doctor had cancelled out my prescription for Ambien! I was beyond angry at this point! I called their corp office, and filed a complaint, and the lady told me that she was forwarding this to the district office, and they would be in contact with me. Now, I look like a drug addict, thanks to Samantha at Walgreens, and now have to take a day off work to drive to my Doctors office, and TRY to explain to him what happened. If he actually gives me another prescription for Ambien, I will be amazed. Thank you Walgreens for making me look like a drug addict, and damaging my reputation...I will NEVER go back to another Walgreens again! People beware!

Dear Long Face...I have taken the opportunity to look at some of your postings here on this Forum. I have reached a conclusion about you...I think you're some 48 year old Virgin, living in your Moms basement, heavily medicated, to control your anti-socialist and intermittent explosive disorder, who surfs the Internet all day looking at Porn and Masturbating. You probably have a blow up Girlfriend, and haven't left the basement in 2 weeks to even as much as bathe. I'm sure Gnats are probably flying around your Genitalia, and your socks are probably fused to your feet from where you have ejaculated on your floor, then stepped in it. Thank goodness you still have your Mom, otherwise, where would you live, and how would your Porn sites get paid for?

As far as I'm concerned, Walgreens thinks everyone's a drug addict. I also work in the Medical Field, and my license could have ALSO been on the line, over this whole thing. But, also know, that I have constant patient contact, at a place that deals with a lot of long term injuries, where controlled drugs are prescribed. This is a very scary situation for me, being in health care. But, I also am in the position to advise the Patients as to where to NOT have medication filled at. I make it a priority to tell the Patients, to try and avoid filling any prescription at Walgreens, because ultimately it will turn into a nightmare situation. My advice to them, is to use CVS, and just don't go to Walgreens at all. I only wish that somebody had of warned me about Walgreens. It would have saved me a tremendous amount of stress and tears.

Apparently you are not understanding, so I will explain slower...when a person has a script transferred to another pharmacy from Walgreens, it does not make them a drug addict. Sorry Walgreen fans, but the pharmacists at this fly by night place, are a disgrace to all other pharmacists. Accusing a person of abusing any drug, without any proof, other then having a script transferred to another place, does not fly...now I know why so many people won't do business with them.

Ok, so lets see if I'm understanding what posters have been saying here...if a person has a prescription at Walgreens, calls and has it sent to another pharmacy, then they automatically should be reported as drug addicts?

Ok, mr. Wonderful...I did NOT try to have a prescription refilled at 2 different pharmacies...I tried to have the script cancelled out at Walgreens, and sent over to CVS...and their were no facts, just assumptions. Walgreens is a POS as is its pharmacy manager, Samantha.

Well, I tell you...new patient or not...calling my Physician ang telling him a blatant lie, which makes me look like a major dope head, surly is not protocol...as far as I'm concerned, Samantha, should be standing in the unemployment line. You just don't assume things, and epically verbally telling someone, like a Physician, I'm filling More then one prescription...I just don't get it, and somebody is gonna have to answer to this one...very damaging statement, and humiliating...epically since I'm a Laboratory Tech, and this could follow me back to my job. Not a cool thing to do to anybody, ever!

I agree with the poster. I stopped using the Walgreens Pharmacy, after so many issues with them. Seems like every-time I went there, there was always an issue over a Prescription. I finally got fed up with the Pharmacist wanting to question me in regards to Prescriptions. They always made me feel like I was some sort of a Criminal, trying to get one over on them. Walgreens Pharmacy is just awful, and I also, will not be returning there.

Cos, was it a controlled substance? If you accept a partial on a control, you lose the refills, so asking for the remainder would be reason to call your doctor. It is the law child.

I just had a pharmacist at Walgreens tell me that I am asking for the rest of my partial fill because I don't have any more pills and wanted to call my doctor when they actually owed me the pills to fill the script and I still had pills to shake in a bottle at them. Walgreens pharmacists are psychic too. But I called me doctor right there in Walgreens and let him tell off the pharmacist.

As far as I am concerned, if you were in the medical field that in any way had anything to do with prescription drugs, you would never have posted this complaint, nor would you be opening yourself up to a lawsuit by badmouthing a pharmacy. But continue. I will wait and read about you on the news.

Poster, when it is your jail sentence and your pharmacist license on the line, you do whatever you want. As long as I am working the pharmacy, the law will be followed no matter how much any patient screams, cusses, acts stupid, etc.

Contact the DEA and let us know what they tell you. The fact is, like it or not, the pharmacist did what federal law requires. Period, moan, whine, complain. It matters not. It IS the pharmacist's legal obligation to notify your doctor of any suspected doctor/pharmacy shopping and or misuse of medication.

Pharmacists follow federal law regardless of how patients feel about it. If you like CVS so much stay with them. You already had a relationship with CVS, and went to a pharmacy with a narcotic that did not know you.

Walgreens out of stock item

I have been a daily customer of the Walgreen's Store #12569 for over eight months. I get my Winston Cigs there because it's on my way to do daily business. I stopped in the store last week and the daily cashier "Sharon" happily says oh we didn't get any on the truck. No apology, no sorry we are out. I stopped in today 4/10/2013 and the same thing. First the service person Sharon is not customer oriented and not friendly at ALL.
I have stopped there every day for eight months. MY QUESTIONS : First who does the inventory and ordering? Whomever is doing the job is very poor at it. I have been in inventory positions in my life and it's very easy. Look at how much sold and reorder. Since I buy from this store every day, seems someone would see this. Oh wait guess you don't really care about your customers.
I am very displeased with the service at this store #12569. You have lost a customer over this and I will re-direct anyone I know to stay away from this store.
