Wells Fargo scam loan modification program

Never never never trust wells fargo when they tell you they can help you with a loan modification for your home loan. I have been wasting my time for 1 full year giving information over and over and over to multiple different customer service reps, loan modification specialists, and underwriters that I think I am going to lose my mind. But what i'm really losing in the end, because I trusted the idiots at wells fargo, is my home. I too was put on a trial payment period while my financial information was being considered for a loan modification. I paid the amount specified for 3 months with no late payments as instructed by wells fargo. The 3 months went by and I continued paying the modified amount for a few months after that. Then I finally got a letter from them stating I was not approved for their loan modification but that they had other "programs" that I might qualify for. I then received a letter from a foreclosure lawyer stating that wells fargo had turned my loan over for foreclosure and that they were demanding the past due amount of the difference between my original loan payment and the modified amount that they told me to pay! That was three months ago and we are still submitting documentation to wells fargo for consideration and our house is due to foreclose soon. I am even getting the run-around from the lawyers office in trying to get information from them. It is a complete nightmare. Moral of the story is - never trust wells fargo - they lie!

They say Wells Fargo is America's #1 Large Bank for Customer Satisfaction (2010). Wells Fargo belies its name. We, a very small company, were one of the merchants of Wells Fargo Merchant Services, LLC. Wells Fargo has been putting $49, 533.22 on hold since August, 2008 for the reason that there was one chargeback in the amount of $345.00 that one of our customers had paid by credit card. The amount of $49, 533.22 was the fund accumulated from our sales of nutritional products to our customers. There was no other chargeback after that. In order to get the fund released, we have sent many letters and documents (Wells Fargo requested) to Wells Fargo Merchant Services, LLC, but not a single reply has been sent to us so far. In the meantime, we had to shut down our business due to the lack of operating fund. Well, we think it's high time that Wells Fargo change its name. From Wells to Ills.

I had not used the merchant account but once in 2 years. This account was a conversion from a previous account & no contract was ever signed or given to me. 14 months after the transaction, Wells Fargo started hitting an inactive bank account (Fifth Third Bank)for $25 that I was closing the next week. I received an OD notice from 53 bank. I called & Fifth Third would not help. The next month I got hit again & I went in person to 53. They finally told me it was Wells Fargo. I contacted Wells Fargo & was told about the cancellation fee. I asked that a copy of the contract be sent to me. Never got the contract so I called again. I was told it was a "virtual" contract. The next month I got hit again but 53 bank charged me another $37 for refusing the transaction. I called Wells Fargo again & was told the "contract" would be cancelled & I would receive no more charges and my fees would be refunded. Fifth Third bank would not close my checking account until I paid off a $650 note with them. Yesterday, I received another $37 charge from 53 because Wells Fargo hit the account for $.20. Yes $.20. opened another envelope & it was from Wells fargo Merchant Services wth collection demand for $175.20.

Wells Fargo overdraft fee

This isn't my first time writing a negative review for Wachovia / Wells Fargo and if I don't take my business elsewhere and soon I doubt it will by my last.

This afternoon I attempted to use my debit card and was told that it had been declined. Confused, I called Wachovia for a balance total and was first appalled that my account was in the negative; -$122.07 to be exact. The overdraft protection law went into effect on August 16, 2010 and I declined the "protection". Why was my account negative?

I entered the prompt to listen to the deposits made only to discover that I had not had a direct deposit from work in nearly 3 weeks. I immediately disconnected with Wachovia and called my place of employment only to be told that there had been a glitch in their system, the funds had been released today and would deposit tomorrow.

The instant that I arrived home I logged onto Wachovia's website and was horrified: $105 of the -$122.07 balance was in overdraft fees; as I mentioned above I declined overdraft protection. I again called and was connected to their CS department who did nothing but a song and a dance. On Wednesday I made a $5.07 in-store purchase that went through though I had $5 in my account at the time. The $105 in overdraft fees was a result of a hold on the 7 CENTS. I argued that the card should have been declined and that I wanted the fees refunded. No can do. "Would you want your mortgage payment to be declined because of a couple cents?" was the representive's reply. Yes, I would. I could run to the bank and make a 7 CENT deposit instead of paying $105 for an occurrence that should have never happened to begin with.

I cannot stress this point enough: if you are in the market for a bank steer clear of this one. Consult your local credit union instead. These major banks will do anything and everything to squeeze every last cent out of you.

Wells Fargo rude customer service agent

I called to inquire about a charge that was on my account. Apparently from what the CSR told me, anytime you have an overdraft on your account and you have overdraft protection Wells Fargo will charge you $10.00; even when they Transfer money on your ways2save account. That’s all fine and dandy; the $10 was not the issue. It was the attitude the CSR agent gave me when I inquired. She said and I quote "This is NOT Wachovia, this is Wells Fargo". So after I unleashed the "Dragon" on her I made it abundantly clear that I will discontinue my account there. The last thing you want to do is be a rude CSR and expect me to continue my services there. The famous quote says “you NEVER get a 2nd chance to make a 1ST impression." So Wells Fargo you can go F**K yourself with a cactus!

Sincerely
Loyal Wachovia Customer since 2000

Wells Fargo pay off problems

I have been trying to pay off my loan through Wells Fargo Dealer's Services. They first gave me wrong pay off balance online and after I submitted it, they sent additional charges saying the payment was late. After I attempted contacting them to discuss this charges, they said their supervisors were busy and they would not be able to talk to me. I ended up having to pay extra charges. I will never use Wells Fargo again. NO MORE BAIL OUTS!

DO NOT EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! I am in the process of paying off car loan. Sent cashiers check to the address I was told to. USPS sent confirmation that they received this overnighted check on Mondsy.. They SAY they have not received it and today is Wednesday. I have been calling them now for 3 days trying to find out where is my cashiers check, every time you speak with customer service you get a different story, Have automatic payment due tomorrow. Had my LOCAL put a stop payment on the withdrawal by them as I am not paying again for something that is supposed to be paid off and them have to wait over a month to get my money back (imagine what i would go through for that). This company lies and lies and lies. Never do any business with this bank regardless of what interest they offer, Not worth it in the end. Have a feeling I am going to end up at the Massachusetts Attorney Generals office with this or at an attorneys suing their pants off.

Did Wells Fargo get bailed out by our money in 2007 to 2010? If so, what was the name of the legislation? Was it TARP? I see their stock rode out the US Depression II quite well for the past 10 years with only a temporary crash in early 2009. It fell from about $35 in 2007 all the way to $8. In Mid 2009 to mid 2010 it rallied all the way back up. It probably rallied back up to pre-2007 economic crash due to the bailout we gave this corporation. Anybody know?

I attached a photo of a money counterfit detector product. I'm trying to see if it works on a WFC stock certificate or dividend check issued by Wells Fargo, so if anybody holds stock on WFC, let me know: I'll try to test it. Please respond to my questions.

Wells Fargo home modification

I have lived in my home for 10 years not missing a payment, went on unemployment 2/2010--04/10 I was diagnosed with breast cancer & had surgery/treatments, then 6/2010 had surgery for torn rotary cuff, starting June I received workmans comp of $2100 a month until I go back to work next year. I have been trying to get a loan modification since April 2010, once I got a letter stating that they offered me a modification and turned them down which is a lie. I have sent all paper work in nine times, tax returns, copies of unemployment checks and disability checks, bank statements, tax returns. Oddly they call me to say they only got parts of the paper work so were is the other paper work that was in those envelopes. I am a nurse and will be goign back to work soon so why are these people having me to run back and forth to Office Max to make copies of everything and they are not doing anything since April, it has been eight months and it only takes 30-45 days to approve a loan because I was a loan processor one time so I know. I am to old to walk away from my home and it seems to me they just want my house. Then if you call your loan processor they never return your call !

I am currently experincing issues wtih Wells Fargo. I was experiencing issues with Wachovia after filing my Modifification oan in July of 2009 ( my loan was transfered October 2009 to Wells Fargo) after I applied for home modification). Now my issues are with Wells Fargo. I check once a week to reviewed my Home Affordability status online or by phone. I called the listed number and spoke with and operator. She said that my application for a workout agreement was denied because of failure to provide my financial data in the necessary format per the worksheet that I was sent on 2009. This statement is in error in several ways:
1. I was not sent a worksheet 2009. I had pro-actively contacted Wachovia and now dealing with Wells Fargo since October, 2009. Information obtained by telephone communication and online I submitted all information that I needed to submit: Proof of income for the last 30 days, a hardship letter explaining the situation, and a monthly expense report.
2. I faxed the above documents to Wells Fargo Home Modification Program.
3. Once again I contacted Wells Fargo by telephone. I gave a consolidated list of my monthly expenses.
4. I still have not been approved and Wells Fargo have yet to move forward with my application.
I've been been getting the run around for five months now and nothing has been resolved.

I started a loan modification with Wells July 2010- sent everything they requested- several times- went through 6 processors during this time- with feed back from the processors everything was in order- i was 4.8 months behind for several reasons- death of my husband and layoffs etc- all of a sudden my automatic payments were stopped and i get a notice of foreclosure- so i called them immediately and my processor knew nothing about it and suddenly became a ill tempered person- i was transferred to several people with no help- sale date of my home was Feb 1, 2011- i filed for bankruptcy two days ago to save my home where my husband is buried- all i can say is if anyone reads this Wells fargo has no intent to modify- and their reason for the long process is that they are to busy! Would any one take that reason as a good reason- and the thing is is that I am employed there! So if i cant get good service who can!

I too have been dealing with them for 10 months on the Home Modification program and they keep saying you need to send in the info every 3o days, but they never make decisions, but now starting the foreclosure process. I don't even know what to do as I find this very illegal on their part, but they have more money to fight this than i do. They should be checked on by the federal government.

I have been working with Wells Fargo since about July 2009 to get a Home Loan Modification, as outlined in the federal program (www.makinghomesaffordable.gov). I finally received my paperwork this week, and it is as if they "rewrote" the modification the way THEY WANTED TO, not following the federal guidelines, which are clearly written in a 17-page memo to lenders.

Also, they did not offer me the $1000 per year "incentive" that i am eligible for, for up to 5 years, if I enter into the agreement and make my payments on time. This helps "pay down" part of your principal... they totally ignored that ... probably since the guidelines (to lenders), states, "borrowers are eligible for (the $1000 a year incentive) ..." instead of saying "(Lenders), you MUST include this in your loan modification agreement."

Here is what has happened with my loan modification, so right now I am wondering whether to sign or not to sign... and they gave me only 10 days to sign and return... while it took them almost 8 months to get my loan modification through a trial period. !
But here is what happened with my modification:
my mortgage should have been reduced by about $250 - $280 ... but was only reduced by about $98! Borrowers are supposed to bring your payment down to 31% of your Gross Income, and are supposed to reduce your interest rate (as a first step in something the Gov.'t calls the "Waterfall Procedures", which are specific steps Lenders are to take to reduce the mortgage so the CORRECT AMOUNT OF modification agreement can be determined... This is NOT what was offered in my case.

I have been trying to get my home loan modification with them for about 6-7 months... I did EVERYTHING THEY ASKED, sent all forms, resent forms, resent proof of income, the signed affidavit. about 4 months ago, they sent the amount of my trial payments, which was encouraging because the payment dropped from about $1250 (which I can no longer afford, due to a sharp decrease in my income.; my payment for the trial period was reduced to about $980.

I also want to note that i did not have a sub-prime mortgage, that i have always been current on the mortgage, and that my home in Austin TX is worth about what I owe on it. Also, I do pay Private mortgage insurance (PMI), and I'm reading from many with problems, that some banks are not working with them... preferring their home to go into foreclosure, since the home has PMI.

The "making home affordable" gov. website calculators show that I'm eligible, and that $980 (trial payment) was actually somewhat more than the 31% of my income. I thought i was "good to go..." and made every trial payment.
Now... this week, i get a letter from Wells Fargo that offers me something they call a "Home Affordable Modification Agreement", and they only gave me until 3/23/10 (less than 10 days), to sign and return it to them. THE TERMS ARE NOT AS outlined on the Gov't site at ALL! To reduce my mortgage, they offer to EXTEND THE TERM OF THE MORTGAGE, and only to lower the interest rate by about one-half percent. This is NOT how the Gov't site said as to mortgages being modified. My total monthly payment only went down $98, if I sign this, and again... this payment is MUCH more than the approx. $960 that my loan modification should be (according to the calculator on the fedeeral "making homes affordable.gov" site and other federal web sites.). Do they think we don't read or multiply ? Also... they didn't make my escrow payment with my trial payments, and so they informed me i now owe escrow of $1876 ! (this is something the government guidelines to lenders ALSO tells lenders, that they MUST make the escrow, if the funds are there ... which mine were, as part of my $980 trial period payment.!

They did write in something they call a "borrower incentive" that if i make payments on time, i will "accrue " a "benefit" equal to $54.58, which is 1/2 of the reduction in the monthly mortgage payment. There is nothing that i can find about this being in the government program -- it reads that with a home modification you no longer have to pay the PMI. (because the government is in effect insuring your mortgage, at least that is my understanding of why you no longer have to pay PMI).
I feel WFargo has "rewritten" that program benefit more to THEIR benefit, in their legal terms ... saying, "if your modified mortgage loan ever becomes 90 days delinquent, you will lose all accrued but unapplied principal reduction benefits (the $54.58)... and will no longer be eligible to accrue additional principal reduction benefits..." THAT is NOT in the government guidelines at all.

I don't know what i am going to do at this point, because it seems as if WFargo is really trying to screw me. That is not a word I ever use, but it fits with this situation. In my opinion, they are purposefully ignoring the government guidelines on how the FEDERAL home loan modification program was written, and have written their terms... much more favorable to them.

Wells Fargo overdraft fees

I made a deposit for $10, 000 at a Wells Fargo Bank at 5:00 PM on Sept 30 - a weekday. There were checks that came through on my account at midnight of the same day. They paid all of the checks but the bank charged me almost $1, 000 in overdraft fees saying that my deosit was past their cut off time. I have requested a copy of my deposit receipt at least 5 times and each time they send me a copy of my check - which has absolutely no stamping of any kind on the front or the back. There is no record on the check that it even went through Wells Fargo Bank. My deposit was made at the actual bank and not at one of the grocery store branches. To this date I have not been able to resolve this issue.

I have had a checking account at Wells Fargo for almost 3yrs and have paid over $1, 000 in overdraft fees that I thought were very suspicious.
I complained several times because I knew I had money to cover transactions as indicated on my online account.I was told that items came in that caused the overdraft of several transactions. Can you justify paying $25 to $30 for a soft drink or burger?Wells Fargo provided info on pending class action suit in California. That is how I found out about scam involving the deletion & rearrangement of charges from largest to smallest amounts.

I can be contacted at artguti@hotmail.com if you require more info.

I recently made a mistake on my checking account, and forgot about an automatic payment which came through last, out of 5 charges. The auto payment was paid first, and my last 4 charges were then charged overdraft fees. I began to do some checking, and I discoverved that all charges go through from largest to smallest, thus causing more overdraft fees when one item doesn't clear. This type of "accounting' only effects those of us who live paycheck to paycheck, and those of us who are on a fixed income like seniors and those on SSDI, and those who have recently been laid off, the poorest of the population.

I also discovered that on the actual written statements the charges are in proper order, different from what you would see on the online statement. The reason for this may be that mail fraud is more severe then internet fraud. The bank may be covering it's own butt. (that's just my guess) Also it would make their questionable accounting practices harder to detect by those who are afraid to do their banking online, (ie. seniors).

I'm looking for people interested in a class action suit. It was our tax money that just recently bailed out their sorry butts, and now they are using our overdraft fees to pay us back. I have started a campain to get the word out. I have started writing business magazine reporters, and reporters of local newspapers. I have emailed CNN News, and others. I need help telling as many people as possible. I NEED your help! start gathering evidence from your own accounts. Make copies of your online statements. Save your monthly bank statements. Write to your congressmen and demand an investigation.

We are in a time when the banks no longer have Republican freinds in high places, and banks are under serious scrutiny. We can win this and get our money back, if we just stand up and fight. If you won't do it for yourselves do it for the 1, 000's of unsuspecting seniors living off their monthly SS checks.

You can email me at smallbiziowa@gmail.com

I had enought money in my account to cover all of my checks etc. Come to find out Wells Fargo puts a 2.50 non atm Wells fargo fee through which makes me overdrawn by 1.30. Never had this fee before in my life with the 4-5 years I have been banking with wells fargo and now they are telling me that this is their policy. They charged me 35.00 in fees and told me that they can only credit back half, because it is not their fault. Very poor customer service. Nobody at wells fargo 800 number wants to help anyone. I went to their corporate office in San Francisco and I am waiting for a responce back from them now.

I run a small business in San Marino, CA. I was charged 9 overdraft fee for $315 by Wells Fargo on 3/11/2010. The next day, I was charged 10 overdraft fee for $350 by Wells Fargo again, with 3 checks bounced.

Wells Fargo has announced to the world that they will not charge more than four overdrafts per day.

It is a lie. They did it to me.

My other question is, how can you bounce my check and still charge me overdraft? Wells Fargo did not bounce the biggest check on that day because if they did, it would bring the account to positive balance. That way they can only charge $35 for each bounced check, not for my other $6 and $15 transactions the have now chaged on.

I went to Wells Fargo San Marino branch. The manager Mr. Wong told me, "If you cannot manage your cash, use Savings acoount for your business, so you cannot write a check. As a customer of Wells Fargo for over 15 years, this is the biggest insult that have ever happened to me.

I told everybody the story and we are closing all the accounts we have. If you happened to have a Wells Fargo account too, please be advised that one day when you are short of cash, they will find the way to MAX your fee. Beside the personal insult against me, The news published by Wells Fargo is a lie. Wells Fargo is NOT honoring the promise. I really do not understand how can a company cheat the public like this.

I used my debit card twice to eat $3.40 and $4.10 on April 12, 2010, on my on lIne checking account it shows pending but the money was reserved by the Wells Fargo to pay these items. On April 14, 2010 I had a balance of 0.91 after the two items were deducted and a check 1184 for $25.00 came through on April 14, 2010. On April 15, 2010 my Payroll check went through, so I was expecting to be hit with one $35.00 overdraft fee, but no that wasn't the case I got hit with three $35.00. I called Wells fargo and they explained to me that they took the check for $25.00 than the other two items. that made no sense to me seeing that the other items were pruchased on the 12th. Her explaintation to me that they were waiting for the store receipts, but the money was reserved to pay so they should have taken the small items first. I got no where with her. I'm a single parent. I live on a tight budget as it is and for Wells fargo to have this type of Business practices is very questionable. Can you help? I hope I have the right link to file a complaint. Thank You

I just got off the phone with Wells Fargo. They have sent out a notice that they will be instituting the ability to "opt out" of overdraft protection. Over the past year they have soaked me for about $1200 in overdraft fees, so I want to opt out now. The Customer Service Rep Supervisor tells me that there is no way to "opt out" now, the software that does this never allowed for this to happen and you are stuck until the new software is installed for the August 13th roll out.

This tells me that Wells Fargo intentionally built their overdraft software to opt everyone in. The consumer never had the chance to decide whether they wanted to be charged for this service.

Time to look for another bank, preferably a Credit Union.

They may negotiate less fees with you but they correct with charging you the fees. After 2:00 p.m. starts another business day.

Thats right. They lie about what is clearly written in their policies, and will argue with you about it, insulting your intellegience. They're a joke, and I can't wait to get out.

I'm with you my friend. This has happened to me just recently. They back dated a check, that caused overdraft notices to the tune of $280.00. Money was deposited on the same day that two other overdraft charges were charged to my account but they said the charges came in at a different time. Bull crap, they came through the same day. I had one charge in the pending list, then it disappeared, then it was entered on my account the next day. What happened to "The money comes out the same day when using your debit card" comment. Hmm! I totally agree with whomever has had this problem that Wells Fargo is using us as a means to repay their debt.

Totally not fair,

You used your debit card so those 2 amounts, $3.40 and $4.10 were pending. Pending DOES NOT mean that money is reserved, it simply means there are debit card transactions out that havent posted. In the mean time a check POSTED for $25 which pulled immediatley and overdrew your account = Overdraft fee number 1. Then the other two amounts tried to pull AFTER you were already overdrawn = overdraft fees number 2 and 3.
Plain and simple...don't overdraft your account. The bank has no control over where you spend your money, how much you spend and when that business will post the payment so stop blaming the bank for your own ignorance.

Wells Fargo unauthorized withdrawal from bank account

I bank at Wells Fargo and had made payments to WFAF over the phone so they had my routing and account numbers. After 3 years of making payments, I became late [over 30 days] on my payment and asked them for an extension due to my moving and incurring extraordinary expenses related to the move. They told me I HAD to make a payment and would not work with me. I got paid on the 1st and on the 2nd they cleaned out my bank account for $821. My payment was only $699 but they took the rest in "interest". Wells Fargo Bank Customer Service could do nothing and said they are allowed to do this! They not only debited my account but they put a "Deposit Hold" on the $821 also so they actually froze $1, 642 until the debit cleared. This made me overdrawn and my RENT check bounced. The bank did pay it but I had to get two loans to cover the lost funds and NSF fees. I then closed my account at WF and WFAF can repo the vehicle. I am done doing business with them! They harass you and the robocalls begin the day after your payment is due. They call all day long! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!

Wells Fargo just did the same thing to me, my checking account is now to the negative and I had just made a payment of 300.00 and they did another unauyhorized deduction four days later. These people are the worst to deal with. Never finance anything with this company.

Wells Fargo fees

Wells Fargo is willing to lose a customer over $5. That seems like horrible customer service to me, and I will leave them because of principle. I have been a customer with them for over 8 years, I have a chk, savings, credit card and home loan with Wells Fargo. All that they are going to lose because they will not reverse my full $10 fee, which I feel was due to their error. I am sick of banks and companies charging all these extra little fees that they think people will not care about, knowing full well it all adds up for them. And I don't believe the excuse that they do not have the capability to remove it; then get me someone who does~!

Years ago I purchased stock through AG Edwards. Through a series of acquisitions they became part of Wells Fargo. I learned the hard way the Well Fargo charges not only commission fees but also annual fees for their broker service, regardless of whether you buy or sell stock.

I realized (after the fact) that they had sold off several shares of stock to cover their annual brokerage fees. They claim they told me about this in my quarterly statement but I didn’t recall seeing anything notifying me of fees due. I now have the tax hit from the sell off, residual cash.

I have opted to move my holding over to Fidelity which charges no annual fees. Oh... and wouldn’t you know... yet another fee opportunity for Wells Fargo... They want $95 to process the transfer.

WORD TO THE WISE... DO NOT USE WELLS FARGO FOR brokerage services (unless you want to pay a lot of fees). Also, if you own stock held in Well Fargo Brokerage, consider transferring it to Fidelity unless you just like paying them fees each year.

Where should I began. Well first off credit means nothing to these people, they process every card swipe whether you select debit or credit as a debit. They will bounce checks due to PENDING transactions, that usually don't actually post within 48 hrs. These ###s are quick to post there fees to you account though. I just learned today that if you write out a check to a wells fargo customer to make a depost into that customers account, and you also have an account with wells fargo, they take it upon themselves to debit your account right away, but according to the customer services rep, the check is actually is still in processing. Its (PAR POSTED) I was told. WTF is that? Either its posted or pended, what. Wells Fargo is looking to make money off of fees any way they can. They can give a rats ### about their customers.

I hate all banks. Today, I especially hate Wells Fargo. We have our mortgage with them and a HSA with them. Last year, they offered me a credit card that would earn $ towards the principal on my house. I thought that was a good idea and I set up auto payments for any bills that took Visa.

One of my husband's dumb ### doctors couldn't figure out how to run the debit card that goes with the HSA, so I had to go to the bank to get a cashier's check. When I was at the bank, they said I couldn't take a cashier's check from the savings, but I could open a free checking account with $100. and I could get the casheirs check that way. They said I didn't need to use the checking account, it was free and it would just sit there in case I ever wanted to use it.

Today, I get a statement showing $30 fee taken out of the checking. I called and they put me through to the premiere checking specialist who said the checking is only free if I have a $25K balance. I've never had a $25K balance at Wells Fargo. I asked if that was new because it sat there for months without the charge. He said no, but that the bank took my mortgage into consideration when I opened the checking and he would be happy to transfer it to a free checking if I wanted. I said no, close it right now. He said another $30 monthly fee went through, so I had $40. that he could transfer to my HSA. Whatever, I told him do that.

I will be closing all the accounts there, just sayin. I wish I could move my mortgage away from them, but that isn't an option right now. If it ever becomes an option, I will do it for sure.

Other things Wells Fargo has done in the last few months:
*Starting charging my HSA $3.95/month - it wasn't like that when I opened it.
*We pay the mortgage in broken up payments each week instead of monthly in order to pay it down faster. They hold the money and don't apply it to the principal until the entire payment (PandIandescrow) it in the hold account and then they apply it. Therefore, cheating us out of paying excess amount directly on the principal.

Wells Fargo, as with most big banks but particularly Wells Fargo got into a mess with bad loans, received money for a bailout, and paid it back by charging excessive fees which border on being illegal so to sum it up, they messed up, got bailed out with our tax dollar then paid it back by cheating the very tax payers who bailed them out and the government, beginning with the Bush Administration allows it. What once was considered predatory lending is now within guidelines. Thank you Mr. Shrub!

It amazes me how some people believe that they can actually still use their checks, debits cars etc without balancing first. Good Grief if you write a check for 200 for a bill, then check your account couple of days later to see the 200 still in your account it doesn't mean that you have an extra 200 in cash to spend. It means that the check hasn't gone thru yet! Learn how to balance.

My debit card for Wells F says I have been a customer since 1983. I guess I will be shopping for a different bank. Yes a bank that understands the customer comes first. The above posts are correct WELLS FARGO ADVISORS will hammer you with fees and totally drain your account! My broker at WELLS FARGO ADVISORS just laughed at me (LOL) and told me they charge fees now the old days of AG Edwards are history where they didn't charge fees and gave decent interest rates to clients large and small. Of course there is no disclosure of their fees till your a client don't make the mistake of opening account or getting bought out by WELLS FARGO or you too will have your account hit by fees. I travel most and work as a archaeologist and found out the other day they hit me with huge fees had stocks and $400 cash in the account and its close to zero cash.

The $5 fee wells fargo charges a non customer to cash a check wrote from their branch is bull*. It is a transaction that should be illegal. I don't receive anything, not even a piece of candy for my 5 bucks. When a person gives me a paycheck for my labor, the check is supposed to be a receipt for my labor, and redeemable at the bank. in full. If the bank wants to charge a fee for cashing that check, it should be between the account holder and the bank and not me an innocent third party. My labor has already paid for the entire amount of the check, and the bank has no right to stick there hand in the middle, even if I am not their customer. I receive nothing for my 5 bucks. If I refuse to pay the 5 dollars then I cannot be paid for my labor. Wells Fargo should therefore be accountable with the labor board for non payment of my wages...where are the shark lawyers? I am sick of this bank...surely not a people's bank. BTW US Bank cashed the same check without fees or hassle and it was a Wells Fargo check to begin with...

Last August, I was charged $60 per regular account and $40 per IRA account by Wells Fargo because I did not opt for their "Going Green" option of going paperless (online). I marked on my calendar to "go green" in July (today) . When I went to the office, the broker told me that the date of "going green" was June 30 and I missed it, so I would have to pay the $60 per regular account and $40 per IRA account if I wanted to stay with them.
I let loose with "This is F---king ridiculous" and the broker responded with "You will not talk to me in my office that way". She even told me she was going to liquidate my accounts. I think this is in violation of SEC rules, so I hope she does it at her own peril. I called corporate telling them the story, and after giving me some hope that I would be refunded the fees, the customer service girl found that the June 30 date was effective. What a letdown.
I was also told of the $95 transfer fee. Wells Fargo is bad news and should be avoided. They call themselves Wells Fargo Advisors, but try to get advice from them. Advisors is a misnomer. The should be called Wells Fargo Fleecers with Fees. My accounts were involuntarily transferred from Edward Jones to AG Edwards to Wachovia to Wells Fargo. I should have seen the red flags. AVOID WELLS FARGO UNLESS YOU LIKE HAVING YOUR MONEY TAKEN AWAY IN HIGH FEES.

Wells Fargo illegal repoession

Wells Fargo illegally repoed my vehicle at 2 am 10/3/2010 ! I recieved no notice. The co-signer evn recieved no notice. The repo business ripped the driveway all up. When I called Wells Fargo they said they never recieved a payment. It was sent a month prior! I put a trace and they just simply said that if it was thier mistake they would correct it. How? Return a 4x4 that was dragged out and not even in neutral? DO NOT speak to Lydia at the presidents office. For that matter here is the number complain, complain... [protected]. Ask for a person higher than this office and they claim they are the highest. Hmmph! Take a look at these websites: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/39876275/
http://www.complaintsboard.com/?search=wells+fargo+dealer+services&complaints=Complaints

This company hired people off the streets that knew nothing about contracts to just simply sign the paperwork so it would be processed. How is this legal? And why would any company even begin to think this was right? I am suing! Please keep this and know I am not afraid to share my experience. These are pictures of documents and my Durango they illegally repoed.

Wells Fargo being told transfer held because no fums and being told another bank was investigating me for fraud

I recently transferred a large payment from one bank to Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo sent me a letter saying the payment was on hold because they had "reason to believe that this payment has not yet cleared the other financial institution." Citibank ahs assured me that they do not transfer funds that are not covered. When I called Wells Fargo, the Customer Service rep said I was going to be investigated by Citibank for Fraud. Boy, was Citibank surprised to discover that Wells Fargo was twlling me this. There is no case of fraud and the the funds were covered in my account. What kind of inancial institution accuses good customers of fraud?

Wells Fargo incompetency in wells fargo freud department

To make a long story short, my mother is being sued for a Wells Fargo Home Equity Loan that was illegally obtain by way of Identity theft.

Wells Fargo sold the loan to Buckeye Retirement Company, but Buckeye insist that my mother should take the responsibility to pay the 80K loan.

I have filed two complaints with Wells Fargo Freud dept. The first complaint I filed in 2004 but it went nowhere because (Incompetent or the staff needs training).

We now have evidence from a “writing expert” that the Wells Faro promissory note was not my mothers signature.

Based on this info, I filed the second complaint. Wells Fargo offered only to remove the loan off of my mothers credit report. In exchange for this action, the bank required that we release any and all claims against Wells Fargo.

In addition, I complained to Controller of Currency (OCC). After 6 month and calling every month for closure, the letter only stated that Wells Fargo offered to remove the load off my mothers credit report.

BTW- Buckeye Retirement Company is still suing my mother.

My mother is an elderly lady and has now exhausted her money with Lawyers fee’s.

Now what!

Wells Fargo unfair lending practices

My daughter sold her house in Fort Myers to a couple who in turn sold their house on Fort Myers beach for $315, 000. The closing date was set, and the loans were pre-approved with appraisals.
Everyone took their houses off the market pending the sale and closing. The week before the closing date, Wachovia/Wells Fargo arbitrarily decided to lower the appraisal of the house on the beach to $260, 000 therefore killing the deal at the last minute and then they did not have to loan the money, and everyone's plans and lives were thrown a giant financial burden.
Now the houses were off the market for months, losing valuable selling time and my daughter was unable to move and get a job. This complete arrogance on the part of Wachovia/Wells, and their determination not to lend any money anyway they can get out of it, is what is contributing to the crumbling housing market in Florida and making people miserable. Wachovia/Well's rediculous "we are with you" ads are an insult to our intelligence and we are on a giant crusade to help people realize that their money would be welcome somewhere else, where the company truly cares about it's customers rather than spouting that phony freinds routine.

Wells Fargo criminal act

Wells Fargo has charged me $1357 for auto insurance. I have auto insurance with State Farm, and Wells Fargo has this information. They did not request another copy of my insurance. They are criminals, and need to be behind bars. Their agents have theatened me with prosecution. For what? They lost my check. I offered a credit card payment until they could find it. the answer was "NO". I have not missed a payment, even though I lost my job due to Oregon's crappy economy budget cutting ways! I am ready to wage war on these people! I asked to lower my car payment until I get a job. The agent said, "No we will not do that". It is time to take these criminals down. I am sending letter to all media, president, governor, trade commission, insurance commissioner. The insurance policy says Wells Fargo Insurance. I guess they DID profit this year. My car is in storage until I can afford to repair it. This is a call for JUSTICE! I am a USA BORN CITIZEN.

You have recourse! Have your State Farm Agent fax Wells Fargo a certificate of insurance for the time period that that you were charged. Wells Fargo is supposed to refund your money. This could be a simple case where the Insurance Company has the wrong mailing address for Wells Fargo.

Wells Fargo online payment fee

I was going to pay my mortgage online today and after I put in all my information it tells me they charge $24.95 to my already high mortgage payment just to be able to pay online. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!

I have NEVER encountered a company who charged a FEE to pay online before and I hope I NEVER do again. This is gouging, over the top, senseless fees just to save a 44 cent stamp. If there is not already then there should be a law against companies doing these kind of things.

It is NOT worth paying an extra $24.95 just to be able to pay online. This is totally unacceptable.

Wells Fargo nightmare transition to wells fargo for wachovia customer

The conversion -- Wachovia to Wells Fargo -- is an unbelievable nightmare considering the amount of time they had to get it right. Wells Fargo's technical staffers have probably never heard about USABILITY STUDIES! My business accounts are intermingled with my personal accounts and my mortgage account. The fact that my business has its own Employee Identification Number is apparently of little concern to Wells Fargo, which just wants to use my Social Security Number and ignore pesky legal issues such as "piercing the corporate veil" and "commingling" funds. The IRS is going to love that!

The customer service folks say that it's normal to group everything under a customer's SSN. I say, "Are you kidding me?" Customer Service says there's a tab I can use to separate the accounts. Hell no . . . there isn't a tab that can work that miracle! No matter which tab is selected, the business and personal accounts and their respective online bill payees are intermingled. It can't get any worse as a technological screw-up.

What were they thinking?

Wachovia's system kept everything separate, and it was flawless. Wells Fargo should change things back or fix them so they make sense for customers. AND, they should try some usability testing before they "transition" to anything else.

What were they thinking?

I am also having a nightmare scenario with the transition in the state of PA. I noticed that a bill pay was not made shortly after transition. I called my local branch and they said they couldn't help me with bill pay and referred me to an 800 number. So far, I have dealt with 3 different people on 3 different days trying to resolve. They paid the bill after I called, and then the next day payed again. When I called about it being paid twice, I was told that they set up an automatic payment for this bill. This never should have been done as it was a one time payment. When I called on day 3 to say that this amount was not applied back to my account I was told that a "case would be opened" and that it would take ten days to investigate. I then went in person to talk to the local branch manager and he was extremely rude. He wanted to talk to me standing up in the lobby until I asked that we sit down so I could tell him about my problem. He said that he could not help me and I would have to wait for the resolution of the case. I find it extremely hard to believe that the manager had no contacts that he could call if one of his long time customers was having a problem. I will most likely close our personal and business accounts when this is finally resolved.

Forgot to mention - look out for all the Fraud - This large bank (Wells Fargo) just like Bank of America is prone to fraud, I have already had e-mails sent to me pretending to be part of the new bank (Wells Fargo). Do not repond and report to the institution. I even felt uncomportable calling them and haing to provide so much personal information over the phone - they need a new and better system!

Mine is a personal complaint - they coverted and I immediatly saw an increase in fees and services are worse - not that I completely loved Wachovia, but at least I found their information to be accurate, easy to follow and recieve. Now since they claim Microsoft Money has been closed for use, I have to buy Quicken to transfer my online information? This at a cost to me of almost $50.00 - of which I am certain they are getting a huge benefit! I have my account linked to my Visa for overdraft priledges the cost has doubled, and they transfer even if an item is just held, or a vendor puts a hold. Then I have a surplus and the fees to boot! Not a happy customer, time to find a new bank!

I had a small business account at Wachovia. They treated me well. With conversion to Wells Fargo, I noticed increases in service fees. I drew all my money out and took it elsewhere. The bank was very busy when I did this and it took me 45 minutes to see the banker guy. He never even bothered to ask why I was taking my money out. That's because a lot of folks in the bank were probably doing the same thing. If you have money in this bank, I suggest you consider pulling it out.

Wells Fargo incorrect appraisal

I was trying to refinance my home to a lower rate. Wells Fargo already holds the mortgage. They hade an apprasial done. I was home when the apprasier arrived. She came in took a few photos asked me how much I was hoping the appraisal would be and left. A few weeks latter I recieve a copy of the apprasial and notice that it is for a 3br 3 bath home of 2500 sg/ft. My home is 2980 sg/ft and 4 br / 4 bath. I call my loan rep and sent him drawings of my floor plan. After several weeks I'm told that they are not going to order a new apprasial and that they don't beleive the info I provided. They tell me they'll still to the refi but now the intrest rate will be highter than what I have locked in. On top of that I get a contract from them that shows yet a different intrest rate and a much higher closeing cost than my loan rep said. ($22, 000 vs $8, 000).

I told them to stick it and am in the process of moving my account to another bank and will move the mortgage on both of my houses as soon as market conditions allow.

Wells Fargo is taking over the Wachovia here in Rome. Over the last few weeks new rules are coming into effect that seriously effect the customer confidence in our "relationship". When you are asked to show your I.D. to the same teller who has waited on you for years and you see her at the orthodontist, and pray for her husband for a year while he is deployed to Iraq, or you give your company deposits to a young man who for years calls you by name and suddenly doesn't know you any more- give me a break! WHEN they don't know me anymore it is time to move my acounts. 40 years of "relationship" and they have all these signs up promising how they will continue customer service- sounds like the government has already taken over folks and we'll be the last ones to know. Say one thing and do another. CHANGE- heck I'll
take my busines elsewhere and they can keep the change.

Wells Fargo harp & refi

I've been being strung along by Wells Fargo Since January 2010 to this day. After months and months of sending document after document, they just denied me from getting into the HARP program on Sept 30th. I asked if I could skip 1 months payment to try to catch up on my bills, they gave me four and told me that if I couldn't pay at the end of the term, I could probably roll it into the refi. I had an injury that was disabling for a year. I had a boss that I tried to work for thru that injury until he made it impossible for me to heal and ended up leaving that job that I worked for 11 years after he hit and stepped on my injured foot, which had nerve damage, and thought I was taking off time for nerve blocks in order to have a 3 day weekend. I could have taken off the 8 months in which the medical field allows for my type of injuries, but I tried to tough it out. I should have taken him to court, but I couldn't afford it literally and figuratively. I was only able to collect temporary disability for 4 months after I left my job. I wasn't able to collect unemployment even in telling my reason for leaving. It took me 6 months to find another job after signing up with 3 temporary agencies I was lucky enough to get hired at a job I was placed in. However, the pay is no where near what I was making before. I had to go thru all of my saving during the time I wasn't working and am in desperate need of getting a lower mortgage payment to try to make ends meet. The co-borrower of my loan passed away and after refinancing several times over 10 years for a lower rate, his name was not on the loan when Wells Fargo purchased the loan. I wasn't aware it had to be as executrix of the estate, I thought my name was just as good. This was one of my hardships for which I was denied via telephone. After the 4 month moratorium, they told me I had to be current in order to move forward in the process of the HARP program. I borrowed the money I needed from family to make my loan current and 6 months later, their letter of denial states that I am denied because my loan is current and I have not proved lower income and more expenses! UNBELIEVABLE! They have my pay stubs, prior year tax info, you name it. They even upped my payment during this process due to low escrow funds. Which I have to say, "I am not so sure this is true". As we have learned, you cannot trust them. I am charging gas and have growing debt on that credit card because I can't afford to pay it off monthly, as I did before. They don't have proof? I gave them everything they asked for.

So they tell me on the phone after breaking the news that the death of the co-borrower isn't a good enough hardship that they have other in-house programs that they might be able to get me into. Very frustrated, I asked if this process was going to take 9 months also? Of course, they said no, we will have someone contact you within a week. Well, they had someone contact me and told me the same thing, I am in review for in-house refi. I've gotten several calls and missed them and when I return the call, I am told that I need to speak to my loan rep and there are no notes in the system as to why I received the calls that I missed. I was told they would push for the return call from my processor. I've tried his direct line several times and left messages. 3 weeks later, I still have no clue how they are going to try to screw me this time!

This is outrageous! These people should be ashamed of themselves! They are crooks! They are playing with peoples lives! They are a big part of the reason this country is the way it is and it's getting worse. And who does the government help? I am extremely frustrated! Maybe we should all just top paying these crooks! Let them see how it feels to say "F U"! I don't care if you lose your job or can't afford food and are getting further into debt ever day! I feel sorry for the youth of this county. What are they learning from the practices of big corporations and politicians today? It pays to be a crook? Something has to be done!

Wells Fargo refund

On 7.26.10 I filed a complaint that charges were made to my Chase Bank as well as Wells Fargo Bank card on Behalf of Enterprise Rental Car. I called to file claims to both banks regarding charges. Chase Bank reversed the charges on 7.26.10, Wells reversed charges of $800.00 (per letter dated 8.31.10), then reversed the provisional line of credit stating that was denied and was issued a NSF fee of $35.00 as the account didn't have $800 in it. On 9.02.10 I called bank, got Connie, she said they were closed. Called 9.03.10, got Matt, he refused to help me or transfer me to Supervisor. On 09.03.10, went into Tempe branch, spoke with Randy, couldn't help me. 9.09.10, called, spoke with Kent, refused to reverse fees, refused to close account or help me. 9.11.10 returned call to Aileen, left voice mail to callback. 9.15.10 called Aileen again, left voice mail to callback. Called again recording stated "unable to process transaction". Called again, same recording again. Called back, spoke to Krista, she got Jamie. Jamie said all I needed to do was a "means of collection letter" and fax to 866.519.3576. She would reverse provisional line of credit. I did & faxed the very next day. On 10.23.10 called to get balance, charges of $800.00 reversed again from account on 10.13.10 per Heather. She stated claim is closed out & will not be reversed. She gave me claims assistance phone number 800.548.9554.
This is ongoing problem and they are yo-yo-ing my account with charges that have been reversed. This needs to stop.

Money needs to be refunded to account as per letter I faxed to them on 09.15.10, which served as means of collection letter to resolve situation as per conversation with Jamie on 9.15.10. Money needs to be returned and this matter closed. This is regarding fraudulent charges made they do not want to have to collect from Enterprise Rental Car. This is illegal!

Wells Fargo insurance

I also received a letter from you wanting verification of auto insurance on my loan. All the information has been given to you along with verification.

Your (so called) website is a farce. If you want verifacation then call the branch I got the loan thru and they should have the info. If not then call me. I'm sure my home phone number is on the account somewhere.

I want to file a Class Action Lawsuit against this company. Wells Fargo has done nothing but screw around with my contract, add on ridiculous charges, make false reports to the credit bureau and generally suck their "customers" dry. I"m a SERVICE MEMBER and they don't even honor the SSCRA. This company is horrible.
