Volusion Lied to make sale, wasted time and thousands of dollars

I contacted Volusion regarding migration of our website, walked them around our current WP based site, showed them how to use previewers we needed to migrate, all product option (there were many) and discussed in detail what was needed. I was told if I purchased today the migration would start immediately. Migration started a few days later, they initially said that everything, including previewers could be migrated over and that all product options would be handled by the migrations team. I provided everything needed in detail and was also told that the slider and additional category images could be added at no cost. The only catch, I need to splurge on a premium template. At first I was told to select one for $595 or more, then $895. I selected and purchased a template for $895. Then they wanted to charge me $495 for the sliders and $300 for addition of the two additional category images. I disagreed, but finally relented and agreed to a discounted rate. They still overcharged what they stated and forgot to mention the $495 only included really crappy basic sliders. They agreed to refund for the slider since I could create a better one in my sleep, but they never did. Then the real issues started. They could not transfer my previewers and I was told to find a company that could build them for me or find software that was compatible with their platform. Hardly anyone wanted to touch the Volusion platform and kept recommending Magento. I finally found and made an agreement for several hundred bucks a month and a profit share (3% of all sales using previewers) with a company to do the custom previewers. This did not include the custom design setup required to get the templates ready for the new platform or anything- that was an addition $900+ just to get the first two and we have about 25. Then the issue with the available options Volusion has arose. Volusion is so basic that it wouldn't allow me to even create a pricing variation and make a specific color for a product only available on certain sizes. We were initially told they could. Also, we asked if Volusion was capable of making automatic price changes (dynamic) based on options selected and we were told "yes". However, this was also a lie. We actually ended up needing to search for a custom programmer who not only would be willing to work on the very basic platform Volusion is, but also custom code these options. The cost to this, nearly $2500. After we spent between 3-4 weeks getting shipping set up, products in and waiting on Volusion to complete their end of the deal and all the while having to do the legwork in finding several outside companies to do what Volusion said their software could do out of the box, Volusion decides it is too much work for them and they are no longer willing to adhere to the agreement they made. They wasted nearly a month of my time after leaving me to find workarounds for their inept platform. I highly suggest looking elsewhere than Volusion if you are looking for an ecommerce platform that is capable of truly growing with you and working for anything other than an extremely basic website. Volusion not only misrepresented their company and their platforms ability, but they also defamed BigCommerce by stating that I should not go with BigCommerce because they don't have nearly the features or ability because "BigCommerce has not been around nearly as long. BigCommerce is like that annoying little brother that copies everything you do", stating they have all the features and then some. This was a lie because after checking in with BigCommerce, we found BigCommerce has tons more features out of the box without need for custom coding that Volusion lacked. I would recommend BigCommerce over Volusion any day since not only is BigCommerce a fair enough company not to put Volusion down as Volusion did to them, but their features are ALL there and from what I see so far, they do not lie like Volusion seems to constantly do. Please comment if you have had similar issues with Volusion as we are trying to see if this is a repetitive issue with Volusion and we have consulted with a legal firm.

Volusion Unprofessional cancellation service/After service

Last year 21 Aug 2012, we confirmed our cancellation with Soraya Jadali and emailed the cancellation to 4 other people in Volusion ('[protected]@volusion.com'; '[protected]@volusion.com'; '[protected]@volusion.com'; '[protected]@volusion.com'; '[protected]@volusion.co.za') : it was on 2012.08.21 at 7:58
for user name "youshop" (Customer ID# 715027)

However Volusion has still debited monthly charges from our credit card every month till now 2013.06.01.

We have spoken to their account/ billing department but the manager Reba G, refuses to refund us money back. (USD. 190)

This is absolutely unprofessional after customer service regarding cancellation.

Please assist us how we can get the refund from Volusion.

Volusion possible fraud

I have a volusion template store since last spring.
I was receiving sales calls by volusion this summer trying to sell me expensive SEO services. When I told the sales person to stop calling, I suddenly stopped getting any sales of any kind. up until then, I had sales almost everyday and the volume and traffic was building. September 19 my sales abruptly stopped.
I had a web designer look at the site and discovered my SSL certificate could no longer validate my site and customers were shopping but not buying after discovering this.
I have contacted volusion and all they could say is someone must have accidentally changed something but it's working now.
in the meantime, they won't say who, how or what and I no longer have any sales since my SSL was invalid for a whole month

I know the owners and they are a bunch of ###. Not only are they going to face criminal and civil suits, they will pay the ultimate price. Boy it is great having a tech savvy person on board, along with an retired police officer on your team for they how to get the REAL information on everyone involved perpetrating the fraud in Volutions and its network of people.And I hope you understand what is meant by meaning of the ULTIMATE PRICE. Certainly a very high price to pay just to screw-off some unwitting non-business professional, but when you have to thin the heard, some people have to take one for the team. I think their efforts should be spent on protectionveru quickly versus trying to legitimize what is already a majorly flawed business model (well, they never had one to begin with). I pray that God has Mercy on their souls.

You are just another one buddy, I would suggest you cancel their service and try another ecommerce site asap, but please once you cancel with them be sure to close any bank account that you have given to them as your merchant account, do it asap! as they will illegally draft unjustified amounts of money out of your account regardless, they are the biggest scam i have ever encountered and im still working on a consumer's fraud lawsuit against them, along with thousands of people who have been scammed by this company
They are a bunch of thieves and will always do illegal things, like they did to you! they will lie and always blame the customer for their cheating ways. Please stop their services they are going down soon!

Volusion Volusion Rip-off fraudulent ecommerce online. Beware! This company strives to sign people up but refuse to help you when its needed

Volusion is an ecommerce site that claims to help build your website and host it. When I first signed up for Volusion, one of their sales team in the UK called me up and began to explain the many benifits of having a website with Volusion and the increased sales I would receive just by using them. He spent a lot of time with me on the phone and explained things to me whilst taking my cc details. Sounded great and was very nice and polite towards me. However, didn't take the time to explain that if I was not happy within the first month I would not receive a refund. I did ask whether or not I would be able to shut down the website and receive a refund if I was not happy with the product and he put me on hold and came back to me and said yes.

So I signed up on the Gold package believing the website would be fabulous and I would begin making sales after being exposed for a few months. I was told that I would receive priority assistance on a gold package 24 hours a day! I was told that I would receive a phone call by one of the technical staff within ten days to help me with building the website. I received an email by one of the on board coaches well after 10 days and by this time I was so frustrated because trying to build a website on your own using Volusion software was absolutely impossible! It was way too difficult to use for the average person. I emailed Volusion so many times asking them for this so called 'priority assistance' that did not exist! I wouldn't receive an email back for days after telling me they had a time slot for me about a week later! I told them I needed the assistance urgently not a week later because I was paying them for nothing at this point! My website still wasn't live and I hadn't even begun entering products into the site! I was so fed up with the lack of assistance so I decided to email them and tell them to shut down my account due to the lack of service. There is no option to shut down the website, you have to email them to do that. I was paying for a website that didn't even exist yet! I got an email back 'a few days later' of course telling me they would not refund my money even though the website hadn't been worked on and wasn't even live yet.

They were so quick to call me and sign me up and take my money but when it came to dealing with my complaint about the lack of service, paying them for nothing, and having no website there was absolutely no assistance in sight and they would not give me my money back even after explaining what I went through with them! They basically got money out of me for free without servicing me at all! Warning, do not sign up with Volusion! They are frauds and you cannot use their software without assistance who knows about their software. You will get no assistance from the people who know about their software and you will be paying them to take their time in giving you assistance to even begin your website! Not worth it. Do your research and find another ecommerce site that has better ratings. I have learned my lesson and I will be researching to the core from now on to find a better website provider!

I also was charged for months without having a live site and was told I wasn't able to get a refund. I wasn't told there was going to be a monthly charge of $299 regardless of the website being up or not. I was told it was a 1 time fee and I found out different later it was NOT the case. I expanded to them I emailed the person appointed to me and told her my mother was sick and I wasn't going to be able to move fwrd. They told me we still charge you regardless of my situations and was not going to give me a refund. I am now looking for a attorney to get my money back!

Volusion Poor customer service, service glitches

Do not use this company. Although initially easy to set up a store on it, nonetheless, it has some of the worst customer service ever met. When we switched bank accounts, they refuse to switch for us so that our deposits could not go to the right account, forcing us to keep our old accounts open. They refuse to fix constant, weekly glitches related to shipping synchronization, among other problems. The problems were too numerous to count, and their tech support is never helpful, with very long waits. Worst yet, during the last week, the busiest shopping time of the year, their merchant authorization gateway crashed. What was supposed to be a one day fix turned into 5 days. They admitted no responsibility, rejected requests for compensation, and offered no solution pathway to fixing what is still ongoing. This is one company good at marketing and is absolutely unsavory to deal with.

Volusion.com is a complete ripoff! Their ecommerce solution is the worst. 1) The website builder is very hard to navigate. It would have been quicker to start from scratch with a webdeveloper! 2) Their merchant services started billing us, and they never told us that the service was active. We basically waited around for them, and they were already billing us. 3) Their customer support is horrible. When you encounter a billing problem, they refuse to fix it

Volusion was a complete waste of time. It took too long to set up the ecommerce site. Once it was set up, they did not help to resolve billing problems. Do yourself a favor, and find a superior ecommerce provider. You will thank yourself later!

Yep, totally agree, Volusion is by far the WORST choice there is ... and customer service? Damn Hitler has had better customer service than those guys at Volusion ...
