Volkswagen bluetooth broke the 1st day I bought the car and not fixed

I purchase a new 2010 Jetta and the Blue Tooth stopped working the 1st day.

Fast forward 5 weeks later no fix. VW is like the replacement part is on back other tough luck.. Wait a while don't call us we will call you.

The quality is good but I would advise anyone not to buy a new VW based on my experience. This is not a dealer issue rather a VW corp. issue.

I know this is a small thing but the fact that they continue to sell VWs with working BT Modules while ignoring an existing customer proves they really don't give a damn about their customers.

Hope your reading VW Corp. I will post this on every message board I can find until you fix it and apologize. Good luck continuing in your present mode of operation.

Volkswagen defective car and warranty

I purchase a 2003 Mazda MPV with miles in the 40, 000 range in january '08. After driving a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan for 5 weeks, we were told the financing fell through. They did however have a van that had already been funded by Prestige Financial. Because of our situation, it was either walk or buy the car. AT the time, we were also told a "warranty" was required because of the kind of loan it is. This was the first of many lies. They added a $1400 warranty from a company, called LANDCAR the Larry Miller Owns. Pretty convenient for them They knew if they sold a defective car and never provide documenataion of warranty and requirements, their warranty company would never had to pay anything. When driving off the lot, we knew what a nightmare we were in for. After breaking in the first several months ans several times thereafter, we had contacted LM Volkswagon and Landcar each time. Other than a few hundred dollars on seals and gaskets, never paid anything. In February of "09 our car was so bad, Larry Miller Volkswagon themselves said that the car was "mechanically" a total loss and not safe to drive. They advised to get out of it but upon choosing a new vehicle we realized they were adding the entire amount we owed to negative equity. At a 20% apr, we would have never agreed. The car has been "undrivable" and unreliable since. It is not at a shop and repairs are estimated to be over $7, 000. Land car is refusing to pay anything because of $90 in oil change records. Records we did not even know we needed. Records Landcar does nto even mention on their website. WE have been in contact with Larry Miller several times as far as landcar and are still waiting for a response. They screwed us in the worst possible way. We are now walking with three children in a town 900 miles away from our closest relative because of what they have done. They are corrupt liars who are always looking for a way to make a dollar. They dont care at what expense. Channel 3 news in Arizona has also agreed to do a story. I hope no one ever buys a car from this disgusting people. Please, do not be naive about this sitaution. We were and it has utterly screwed us for a long long time.

Volkswagen retail lease

I leased a 2006 Passat from Palisades Volkswagen, in Nyack, NY. It was a 4-year lease. During those 4 years, it had numerous repairs (fuel pump "melted", both boot blocks cracked, coolant system crack, and then your various brake jobs, 8 tire replacements, and more -- I drive a LOT). Every time I diligently took it in for service, it had recalls to be fixed. While I had VW's before, this Passat seemed to be laden with defects. With 9 months left on my lease, faced with more repairs, I talked to my sales person, Benjamin Smith, and voiced my dissatisfaction, wishing to turn the car in early and pay the penalty. I wanted to be rid of the car and its headaches. He, now the finance manager of that dealership, told me to turn in the car with the remaining payments, and that would be it.

When I called VW Credit to get the exact amount of payments left, I was surprisingly informed I could not turn in my car, regardless of my agreement to pay the penalty, because it would then be considered a "Voluntary Termination" and would adversely affect my credit. I had never heard of this, nor had the salesman who leased me the car when I called him to confirm! According to VW Credit, I have to wait until 90 days before the lease was up, and that was the earliest I may turn in the car, even paying the penalty! I made it painfully clear my dissatisfaction, and my intent to purchase another car, and pleaded to turn in this car to be rid of it and its headaches.

Had I leased another VW, they were ready to let me break the lease. But since I was not, the same consideration vanished. I was a loyal VW customer for YEARS, and touted the brand when everyone else I know steered clear of it. Had they looked at their policy and realized that they could recoup the value of the car more quickly on their lot than in my garage during the next six months, they would see that allowing me to turn it in -- paying a significant penalty -- would be more beneficial to them, and a win-win for both. Now, I will use my connections to virally spread the word of my dissatisfaction so that future VW customers can make a more educated decision on whether to do business with VW.

In this economy, with the magnitude of auto choices available, VW needs to brush up on their understanding of brand management and customer loyalty. When customers vanish, so does the brand.

BEWARE OF LEASING THROUGH VW CREDIT!
I have leased for 20+ years and I have NEVER gone through the issues I'm going through with VW Credit after turning in my 2009 Jetta 3000k miles UNDER mileage! They will RAKE YOU FOR EVERY little ding, scratch, burn, tires, NORMAL wear and tear...anything they can get from you. I will NEVER lease from them again! I am starting a website for other people I've had contact with to share similar stories so when the site is complete, I will make sure everyone knows how they do business.
I've NEVER had to pay for tires (they were exactly where they should have been when turning it in)...you can turn in a Honda, Toyota, Lexus, etc with bald tires and they won't bother you! NORMAL wear and tear after 36 months. I've only ever had to pay for over mileage!
VW Credit is ridiculous and I, nor my friends, family, neighbors or co-workers will EVER do business with them again!

That is typical of VW Credit. Either you get another car from them (and it must be leased) or they will do everything they can to make your lifr miserable.

Volkswagen bad practices, lousy customer service

My wife decided on a car, and put it on hold, with paperwork, called me to come over and look over details. 15 minutes later as I pulled in I saw the car being driven out on another test drive. They came back and bought the car over my protest. Nothing could be done they said, "first come first served". They told us another car of similar quality could be available, so we were patient. One came a few weeks later which we liked. It has some problems which we were told would be fixed: new tires, rear view mirror, etc. Pick it up and it had new tires, but rear view was not fixed. We had to take it to Jaguar downtown. "not covered" Jaguar said, and wanted $900. I argued and was forced to call Luther, who did NOT want to cooperate. They did end up fixing the mirror, but my wife found her tires would slow leak. "Take it to Goodyear" they said. We found cracks in the sidewalls, an obvious defect. But Goodyear had no warranty on those tires AND we found they swapped the 17 inch wheels and tires the car originally came with, and put on 16 inch.
It just shows an unscrupulous organization who will do anything to make a fast buck.

Volkswagen spot delivery scam

I purchased a car through Fox Valley Volkswagen in West Chicago, IL on July 20th, 2009 through "Tommy". We agreed to financing terms, signed the contract and they said I was good to go and let me take the car. They cashed my $8000 downpayment check. On August 14th, 2009, "Ed" called and said they needed to see my W-2s and 1099s and that is had to be that day. When I asked why, he threatened to have my car repossessed and said it would cost me my $8000 downpayment. I faxed them copies of the documents they wanted to see that same day.

On August 18th, 2009, "Dwayne" called me and said I needed to come into their dealership to sign new paperwork for a new loan. I made an appointment for the following day. In the meantime, I did a little research online about this and it's called "Spot Delivery Scam, " where they agree to fake terms, give you the car, and then bring you back in to sign for a new loan with higher rates and fees.

I went into the dealership on August 19th, 2009 to see what this new loan once. My APR was 5.1% higher than we had originally agreed upon, the term was for 48 months versus the 72 months I wanted, and my monthly payment was $160 more per month. I told them to forget it, I wanted to return the car. They said okay, bring the car in tomorrow.

I called "Ed" on August 20th at 9 am to let him know I would be coming in at 12:30 pm to drop off the car and pick up my $8000 check. He said ok. When I arrived, he said he did not have the check for me and nobody there could sign one for me, but he still had the nerve to ask for the car! I took the car and left.

I had to contact the owner of the dealership in order to get my money back - I'm supposed to go in tomorrow to get it. We will see. In the meantime, I have contacted my attorney, the IL Attorney General, the Better Business Bureau, etc. I am warning everyone I can about this dealership!

I traded in my 07 Rabbit for an automatic diesel Jetta TDI, and it broke down within 2 days due to a faulty transmission. After replacing a couple of sensors, the issue persisted, so I'm now waiting for some part that's on national back order. In my opinion gunther vw has committed fraud for the following reasons: on 11/20/07 I purchased a 2005 honda accord from barry gunther. I should also mention that they showed me a "clean carfax" report at the time of purchase. I decided to sell the car and listed it in auto trader as a clean carfax vehicle. My name Zaihani frm Malaysia. I've received similar lottery winning award and responded to two of them. When I received the 3rd e-mail request to open a new bank account with Spectrum Finance Plc with min. deposit of £450.00, I felt something is not right here.
When I checked detail of Spectrum Finance Plc, it is not a bank nor finance co. but its a manufacturer without face & detail operation. I assume its a bogus co.
These bogus e-mails were using the name of Microsoft, Emirates Airline and the Shell Group as the sponsor and promoter of the award.
So people out there be ware.

Volkswagen vwsa allows their franchisee to break the law

Is VWSA in contradiction of their own standards?

How can VWSA state 'You will love them because they have been loved' on their website and ad material when the mastercar we bought has been confirmed to have been repaired by a non vw approved workshop prior to our purchase.

If the car was 'loved' it would have been repaired and painted at an approved shop.
Now the evidence is showing of substandard repairs.
Is this a mastercar?
VWSA did not inspect the vehicle or bother having it done by an approved expert, Why?

Is it maybe that the expert will confirm that the substandard work should not have been accepted.
VWSA further states;
'Volkswagen Mastercars are put through the most stringent of quality checks making sure that the car you get is as good as new'.
Question;
How did the GTi pass this 'stringent quality checks'?
How stringent can this check be?
Also according to the mastercar 80 point checklist, which a copy of, was supposed to be in the glovebox, according to the checklist,
which we never get.Furthermore it states:
"vehicles with substandard repairs not to be sold as mastercar".
I managed to get a copy of same from another dealer as the dealer that sold the car to us refused to give us our copy. ..Why?
So just who did the 80 point check?Did they do the check?

VWSA states;
'Ownership guaranteed'
The car was sold to us as a one owner original car
for R210 000.00.
It now appears that this car already had 2 owners.
Is this guaranteed ownership?
What about the dealer Charging an expired warranty for repairs?
Does VWSA allow that?
What about the fact that the dealer did not activate the mastercar warranty?
Is that allowable standards by VWSA?
Is VWSA allowing their franchisee to operate in this manner and deny the aggrieved consumer recourse?
Why is VWSA turning their back on these blatant acts of illegal activity and breach of their own codes of conduct, etc?

Somebody tell me I am dreaming...Is this now allowed in S.A.?

These are "red card" issues.

Well at least I'm not the only one.
When we bought ours they said it had an 80 point checklist. The battery light was on so they said they would investigate, turns out they had to replace the alterator. The brake indicator also came on, we took it back and they said it needed new brakes. When we first bought it they said the had "done" the brakes. Now this leads me to believe they did not do an 80 point checklist.
I suspect the reason for this is that we offered R162.5k instead of the R169k they were asking. The dealer actually shouted at my wife saying that he was going to make nothing off the car. That is his problem not ours, don't accept the offer if it is not good enough!
Anyway after asking and asking, emailing and phoning they said they couldn't find the 80 point checklist (no suprise) and to date still nothing. I had to go and get the service book stamped myself when I noticed a month later that there was no history of the last service, they stamped it but who knows if it was serviced?

Conclusion is that this is yet more dodgy second hand car salesmen disguised as something legit - something I was specifically trying to avoid by going with a reputable company like VW in the first place.

Volkswagen flat tire and rim damage by pothole

I purchased Road Hazard Insurance on my leased Volkswagen Jetta. I hit a pot hole and the rim was bent causing the tire to lose air and have a flat. I pulled over because of the flat. I am being told by Lokey Volkswagen that an inspector from the insurance company denied the claim because the rim caused the air to come out of the tire and the tire was ruined on the inside from driving on it. I drove approx. 5 feet to get off the road because this happened on the entrance of Bayside bridge at rush hour. I had a State Trooper right there who told me where to put the car.
I think this is double talk, they are not living up to what this insurance was supposed to be about. I paid for this insurance and they are reneging on following through with a claim.
I am appalled that they can get away with this.

Volkswagen scammed by yorkdale volkswagen

I leased a new 2009 VW Passat CC through Yorkdale Volkswagen o/b 2031113 Ontario Limited (also known as York Volkswagen). The leasing company is VW Credit Canada Inc.

I was overcharged $2, 928 by this dealership. In addition, the dealership also reneged on a $700 price reduction they offered me, bringing the overcharge to $3, 628.

I visited the dealership on Saturday February 21, 2009. After having discussed the price of the vehicle with the Salesman, he went into the Sales Manager's office where I was not invited and the two of them prepared the Officer to Lease form on their company form. This Offer to Lease form was prepared based on a vehicle selling price that was $2, 125 higher than what we had discussed (and $2, 125 higher than the MSRP) – therefore, the price was misrepresented. The form also did not disclose the vehicle selling price and neither the Sales Manager nor the Salesman informed me of the increase in selling price, as is required under the Consumer Protection Act (of Ontario). I did not understand what I was entering into due to the aforementioned lack of disclosure. Further, I did not have a payment calculator available to me in which I could have calculated the price that Yorkdale Volkswagen failed to disclose. In fact, in our subsequent conversations, the Sales Manager claimed that the selling price was irrelevant!

To add insult to injury, due to a drop in the interest rate offered by VW Credit Canada at the time of vehicle delivery, Yorkdale Volkswagen further increased the selling price an additional $803 without proper disclosure, leading to a total overcharge of $2, 928. Further, the Sales Manager reneged on the $700 price reduction he offered me – the price was instead increased – bringing the overcharge to $3, 628.

I was shown the final lease agreement only after my trade-in vehicle had been taken from me and my insurance on that car had elapsed. Upon seeing that I agreement, I informed the Business Manager that the vehicle selling price listed on that document was higher than the vehicle price I had agreed to. The Business Manager told me the amount included freight, security deposit and the first lease payment, as well as some other small charges. He further said that they only made an additional $250 due to the interest rate drop. I had told him that I did not want to sign the agreement. He told me that I did not have a choice, since I had signed the Offer to Lease documents. I had no way of checking the Business Manager's information at the time but now it is clear that the information provided by him was a misrepresentation.

I have tried to cancel the agreement at various stages and I have given the Sales Manager various opportunities to correct the errors noted above. The Sales Manager has steadfastly refused and indeed he has said that he is unwilling to “debate” the issue. Therefore, I must conclude that his actions and those of Yorkdale Volkswagen were deceptive and unconscionable.

This sounds even more extreme than my situation, which is that every time -- and I mean EVERY time -- I bring my Jetta in for service, I end up getting told that various problems exist that jack the cost up considerably. And when there is genuinely a problem (for instance, my hand brake was seizing up) I got totally contradictory advice from two different guys behind the counter. One said not to leave the brake on when parking for a week or more in the garage, the other said that if you don't use the hand brake all the time, it seizes up.

Bottom line -- the guys behind the service desk get a commission on repairs, so follow the advice above and get a second opinion. It's a pity, since the work they do is high quality, but they are out to squeeze you,

Shame on Volkswagon Yorkdale
After purchasing a Jetta Volkswagon recently, I came into the dealership for an oil change,
The car had only 2 months before passed with flying colors, a full admissions test.
It was deemed road ready with an excellent result.
Only 2 things were mentioned…..
1) New windshield wipers
2) Oil change within 2 -3 month.
During the car oil change and after being examined I was handed a long list of problems with an estimated total repair of approximately $3000.
The most serious and urgent of these suggested repairs were the breaks (pads and rotor) less than %10.
Based on what they told me at the dealership I felt the need to get a second opinion so I went to another mechanic who did a full exam of the car and came to the same conclusion as the first mechanic (admission test).
In short, the car is in excellent mechanical condition, not one recommendation for any repair work at all. Breaks were %90 new.
So the question arises………. Is Volkswagon so hard up that they support these practices knowing full well that Volkswagon dealerships are out and out lying to customers to drum up business.
Is Volkswagon so hard up that they support the fact that dealership mechanics, in part, work on commission and are doing this to their customers to augment their salaries.
I NOW KNOW and fully believe that the work recommended by the Volkswagon dealership was %100 a vicious, purposeful lie with full intent to mislead.
I am saddened and shocked that a company like Volkswagon would allow such practices to exist.

SHAME ON VOLKSWAGON YORKDALE !

Don't even know where to begin, I have always loved Volkswagen because it felt like one of the most solid cars. Just in my immediate family (Dad-Jetta, Dad-Golf, Mine(Tania)-Jetta (previous brand new Gold), Jetta, My son's both have Polo's and my sister a Polo. Now we are in the process of changing to another make because of many reason's. Don't know who to trust or what to believe. I had traded in my vehicle for a Jetta and the dealer I bought it from was supposed to repair a damage not mentioned, never happened. The car did not feel right from when I received it. Yes it was second hand but not much mileage (I think around 30 000kms. I did send my car for the final service on my plan and was not happy but anyway, no one truly cared. I unfortunately had a tough time financially and could not afford to pay Volkswagen prices but still sent it to people that work on Volkswagen. I had unfortunately hit a bad pot hole and could not drive my vehicle. The accessor cam out and assest the damage, which were both approved by Zurich Insurance. I waited for nearly two months to collect my vehicle and when I called I asked is it running well. To my shock they had not even bothered checking that there was damage to the gear box or whatever, again I had to wait. They sent it to an approved Volkswagen dealer and had to replace the gear box, even though someone had told me that the 2017 Jetta 1.4 TSI had problems and had to be pulled back, but could not get anyone to assist me. Just mechanical was over R60 000 (have to check) and body work also around that amount. I paid R190 000 for the vehicle and cannot understand why the vehicle was not written off. I had problems still with the vehicle but could not get assistance. I had a major service done before leaving for the coast to my friends home. As I arrived my vehicle would not go over 30kms or up a hill. I then went to Margate Volkswagen but told me just to check my vehicle it will cost me around R2017 before anything can be done. My break was completely ruined and had to find a dealer who could assist me. I was told to go to Ivan Motor's and they assisted me and told me it was not the turbo but sorted the problem out. After 3 days I collected my vehicle and again was not going well and back to the same problem. The first amount I paid was around R2017 and had to take it back and needed to leave the next day for Gauteng. I collected my vehicle and did not expect another bill of again around R2017 but told them I will pay at the end of the month because I could not afford another R2017. The told me to fill my tank as the fuel will assist, cannot remember the reason, but did so. On my way back home with my daughter and her friend the car started giving problems again. I would only go at about 40km's an hour and battled up hills, which took me nearly twelve hours to get home to Krugersdorp in Gauteng. I immediately booked my vehicle in at Pop's Motor's who worked for Volkswagen for over 20 years, thinking he will assist. My vehicle was with him from early January 2017 until beginning May. When I received my vehicle it was still not right, unfortunately I had already paid another R5100. I then the same day took it back and was told that it needed a new Petrol pump (around R7000), which obviously I could not afford. I then asked another mechanic who has a friend that has worked for Volkswagen to check my vehicle. Now they say it could be my turbo or catalytic (not sure how to spell or if that's right). Now I have spent over R80 000 mechanically and still cannot drive as advised. Thanks to my Dad I could loan a vehicle because my main job is seeing clients and cannot do without a vehicle. Why fix if you not sure of the problem, PLEASE CAN SOMEONE ASSIST ME AS I CANNOT EVEN TRADE THIS VEHICLE IN, AS IT WOULD BE UNFAIR FOR THE PERSON. I have documentation which I can fax of all that has been done. But honestly am shocked that people can take advantage of a single women, I even gave up my rental to live with my ex because I needed to sort my vehicle out and could not afford to pay for repairs and instalments. I was also robbed and have had extremely difficult couple of years financially due to other parties. I will also be taking this to Nose week or other advertising places if no one can assist me because enough is enough. I was a very loyal client to Volkswagen but don't know what to do or think.. Unfortunately I don't have a scanner but if you give me your e-mail or fax, I will get it done at a Post Net or Cartridge Shop. My e-mail is taniabishop@mweb.co.za

I have purchased a pre owned 1.4 VW polo from Constancia VW about 2 months ago.

From the day I got the car there was a noise on the front left of the car, and many other faults such as the smash and grab.
I contacted the salesman of VW that sold me the car he took a month to take the car in to see the problem as he claimed the there were no courtesy vehicles available. My vehicle went in and came back worst, while redoing the smash and grab tint the removed my door panels and nothing was put correctly.my door handle is half out(causing a major security risk to me and my family)the hinge of the door is missing**.
I am really disappointed in VW as a brand due to this poor service received.i would really appreciate some sort of feedback as to what should I do from here?
seems like they just taking me for a ride.

I bought my Polo vivo in a brand new condition in April 2017. I moved to JHB and had never used my aircon. I travel a lot, so I service more frequently.

After my first service I realised my aircon was not working as the temperatureres were peaking up in a new season. I reported this to the dealership (Strijdom Park), and they decided to regas. Since that day I started getting an epc light on my dashboard. In the middle of traffic, the car would just lose power. VW strijdom park couldnt find the problem numerous times. They would tell me they did compression tests. Other times they would just reset the error.

I moved to Cape Town in 2017 and reported this same problem with my every service at Ferdi VW in Parow, they still couldnt find the problem. They also did the same tests. Then in 2017, I moved back to Durban and took the car where I had bought it, in Pine Street. On my third attempt to try and get this fixed, I spoke to the service manager who was very accomodating and sent my car for a diagnostics test. They found something was wrong with the wiring. It took about two hours to fix.

I have been driving the car for four months without a problem, until just recently where my car just cuts off while driving. This has put me in a lot of danger on the road, and I fear something bad will happen one day. I don't want to book anymore interventions, because they dont find anything or they are just chasing numbers. I have never owned any other brand except VW, but 'with this one they haven't given me joy. Im thinking about selling this car and part ways with this brand completely.

Southern Sea VW sold me a band new Polo 2.0 Classic 2017, unfortunately out of the thirty days that I am the owner, fourteen days the car was in for repairs, and still not sorted out. The workshop manager told me that every car is different and that my Polo is supouse to have these noises. I wanted to give the car back and they told me no way. Even vwsa say that they will honor the warrantee witch I do respect, but they want to continue to change parts from the boot to the bonnet, and the cherry on top is that I would have a three month warrantee on my car insted of one year or 100 000 km. Yet again they want the car again now for a unspecifeid time for repairs and also not give me a similar car while they look for the problems on this car.

Over 2 weeks ago I took my 1 year old Tiguan in to have the faulty CD Shuttle repaired. VW removed the radio to send it away for repairs. My service consultant, Chadley, assured me that they would let me know the cost of the repair or replacement before they went ahead with anything. Well, I am still waiting to hear from him. I have phoned him multiple times over the last 3 days all to recieve the same story from the receptionist: 'His line is busy can he call you back?'. Needless to say I am still waiting for him to return the countless messages I have left for him. I have even asked to speak to the Service Manager to which I have recieved the exact same response...none!

I just want to know what is going on with my car radio!

Hi All,
I recently bought a Volkswagen vento from a dealer in Andhra Pradesh state which is in india, And the product which they had given me is a faulty one and it broke down twice in a matter of few months time soon after the purchase . First time when it happened they said they resolved the issue and its completely fixed but it broke down again in a matter of month and now recently as well with the same issue . I spoke to them regarding the issue through the phone and contacted them through email as well but all they did was a response mail with a local dealers number in it which is completely irrelevant since i was asking them to give me a new Product but not this faulty one. I have spoke to them many times and mailed them the again and again and in reply they did the same mailing me with that dealers number again and again . I am really out of thoughts at the moment and decided to move legally, its is so frustrating after paying that much amount and staying with out a car for more than a month now and they didn't even bothered to provide me with an alternative car as well during this period .
Here i will provide the dealer id :-

Model Vento Diesel High Line
VIN:NO:WVWC
11602BT044977
Engine No:CLN 159071
Dealer Code:IND 12404
Date Of Sale:04 APRIL 2017

Hope you gentlemen wil provide me with a solution thank you.

Company replace clutch plate of vechile, after replacing, they advised that the Fly wheel need to be replace also, why did'nt the mechanic advised before the new part was fitted already. At the same time the vechicle was there for repairing of the turbo, they told nothing was wrong, the machine is showing a problem on the exhaust system, untill this moment, the turbo does not work properly. The symbol Edmissions Garage permanently shows. How can there be no problem. The vechicle is a VW Jetta 1.9 TDI, 2017 Model.

Our jetta car has one more problem now. It smells soooo bad of mildew/mold. When looking up on the net to get rid of smell I have come across many other vw owners with the same problem. They say the sunroof drains are plugging up. The water is going into the fuse box area and down to carpet. yet no one was told about the drains needing to be cleaned out. I called the burlington dealer asking about drains, they said needs to be cleaned with maintenance. Well we had to call the everett vw that did the maintenance and they said they don't do that It doesn't say it in the book to do it.

I am fed up with the smell and ready to get rid of the car. When you get out of it you need to wash all your clothing to rid yourself of the smell. Forget about going into a meeting or giving your wife a hug.

I hear some people are looking at a class action suit maybe. I have to drive it now to the vw place to look at it and I will have to drive with the windows open. ugh it's cold out there!

Volkswagen there is nothing wrong with your car

Purchased a 2003 GTI VW Certified (45, 000KM) from them in April of 08 for almost $25, 000.00 by the time I paided for the taxes, etc... When I purchased the car the sales person "Jamie" told me the car had been in a minor accident and that it was less the $1000.00 worth of damage. The pervious owners did not put it through insurance and paid cash for the repairs. Less then a year later I am having roof leaking problems and the air bag sensor light is coming on. I have had the car into the dealership and needless to say they say there is nothing wrong with the air bags and that there was nothing wrong with the roof. I have taken my car to another well known autobody shop and they have told me that they can tell without taking the car apart (body panels etc...) that both doors have been replaces and both rear quarter panels have been fixed. To me this is a little more then $1000.00 worth of damage eh ? I have ended up having to take my car to another dealership a hour away (Hillcrest) to get the problems with the air bag sensor resolved. Needless to say I know I am not the only person out there that has had this problem with Valley VW. DONT BUY A USED CAR FROM VALLEY VOLKSWAGON ! They will say anything to make you buy a car from them...
Now I have had to take Legal Action against them to get some kind of reinbursments for the shamshed car I purchased from them :( Why should a comsumer have to do this ? There should be some law out there to make dealerships liable if they mislead you when you purchase a car from them.
If you have any advice/ other complaints against Valley VW please for me feel free to e mail me [protected]@nscc.ca.

Volkswagen service scam

I took my car in for a state inspection and oil change - they are free when you purchase your car there. I dropped my 2000 Jetta off at 9am. I didn't receive a call until after 5pm and they said my car wouldn't pass inspection because they found a leak in the power steering hose. This repair would cost $550 plus another $170 to flush all fluids. I told my dad, and luckily, he knew a thing or two about cars. He said that the power steering hose is the LAST thing that will break on a car and told them to just put a rejection sticker on the car and not perform the repair.

I took my car to Maypaw Tires in Norfolk, VA to have them take a look and do the inspection. They couldn't find ANY EVIDENCE of a leak on the power steering or anywhere else on the car!

The car passed inspection without having to pay over $700.

That is the last time I will take my car to Greenbrier Volkswagen.

**They also screwed my ex-bf on his newly purchased Passat which cost him over $400 (to repair faulty tires).

ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION!

Volkswagen female alert

I have a 1997 Jetta. (I keep cars a long time).

In September, 2008 I was in for repairs at Approx. $320.00 on my 97 at Greenbriar.

In November, $300. My car was due for inspection in December, so I returned the 1st week in December because the airbag light was on and was told that it could not pass the State inspection with it on. I paid $109 for a diagnostic test.

I was told that the drivers' airbag needed to be replaced at a cost of $1, 495. I seriously didn't believe it although I acknowledge that it could be a safety issue if the airbag malfunctioned and just came out suddenly on its own. The airbag had never deployed so I couldn't figure out how this could happen. At any rate, I was unwilling to put that kind of money in a car this old.

My service provider inquired if I wanted to speak to the general manager but I declined because I was lipid, incensed and bordering upon becoming (verbally) abusive. Mental constipation sat in where I could not process beyond the advancing month and having to park the car without an alternative form of transportation. Buying a new car wasn't a consideration as I expected to be unemployed the end of December but highly dependent on some form of transportation in search of alternative work. I also felt this was attempt to make me be Xmas for somebody as the explanation given me was completely unsatisfactory. It is also moot that this was a warranty issue.

Since my prospects had become so limited, I called the general manager of the dealership (curious if I had passed up an opportunity to make some kind of arrangement such as payment over time instead of upon receipt of service). I was told that I could get a brand new car with my car as a trade and money back. I didn't believe it because for the life of me, I couldn't figure out how no income was a finance opportunity. Then I remebered the problems of the "Big Three", FannieMae/FreddieMac, the banking industry and of course "the size ten shoe". This is 2008! The year of improbabilities is not yet over!

I am economically conservative and have never reneged on a debt but of course, anything I have purchased I always had a plan for payment. Common sense set in. This was ridiculous. I returned to the dealership just to confront the irony and to advise them that I didn't think this made good business-sense (in person). I am old enough to still value honesty and a hand-shake (and to recognize a shake-down however
ingratiatory the presentation).

I left there and sought help among my Internet Resources. I typed in "Volkswagon Airbag Light" and was sent to a page that among others included the experience of a lady that had taken her car in and had the reset of her light done. It appears that with a magical # of miles or time ... THE LIGHT COMES ON THAT YOU WILL TAKE THE CAR IN FOR A CHECK. Her advise was to take the car to an independent repair shop that specializes in Volkswagons.

I found one and took my car in. Another diagnostic test was done. The repairman cleaned the sensor and tried to get the error message again. Voila! There was no error message and I got my inspection done.

So, what was the $109 about? I no longer trust the service of Greenbriar and question whether this is gender specific bias. That is worth saving $1495!

Volkswagen fraud and cheating

I bought my car in January of 2001. It is a used car (VW Passat 2000), but because there was no previous owner, it was bought as a new car with a new car warranty.

Ten months later my car started jumping, when I stopped the car, and then the check engine light came on.

I took it to the Dealer where I bought it from, and they said it would take $700 to fix, because I needed a new MAF(Mass Airflow Sensor). I paid it, because I had no choice at that point.

Eight months after that, the check engine light came on again. This time I was extremely angry, I asked the mechanic why the engine light was on again. He said he would have to check the car and see, it could be one of several reasons.

This time the report was the hose had a crack in it, and the engine wasn't getting enough air. This time because I was angry, they escorted me to the back to see my car, and the fore mentioned crack. They even said they would replace all of the hoses at no additional cost, but that this was not uncommon.

Side note: I had taken the car in for it's 45, 000 mile check-up, three weeks prior, and no one said anything about a cracked hose.

That visit cost $300.

Low and behold, yesterday morning my check engine came on again (six months later). I don't know of anyone who has a car as new as mine with this amount of care associated with it. I believe they sold my a bad car. When I bought the car, it wasn't even written up yet, they had just got it in. They rushed to inspect it, and unload the piece of junk on me.
