Village Inn Restaurants loud vaccuming during lunch

On Dec. 1st, 2015, my wife and I decided to have lunch at the Village Inn restaurant located at 215 North Dale Mabry Hwy in Tampa, Florida and will never go there again. After waiting for a long period on time, our order finally arrived, and after eating for about 5 minutes, the cleaning lady decided to vacuum on both sides of our table. Very loud and disturbing noise while we were trying to enjoy our meal. When my wife tried to tell her how loud the vacuum cleaning noise, her response was "I am almost finished". After another minute or two of this nonsense, I flagged our waitress, complained about the loud cleaning noise, and her comment was "that is something they have to do before the end on their shift". Well, by this time we both had lost our appetite decided to get the bill and leave this noisy place. Went up to the front check out area, paid the bill and asked to speak with the manager. Told our story and he went on went on about how they try and keep the place clean. With all three people, there was never a formal apology or a simple "I am very sorry for this problem", just excuses of why the noisy vacuuming was done during what we thought was doing to be a nice peaceful lunch. We will never go here again!

Village Inn Restaurants cold food. crap customer service.

Don't eat at the Village inn in South Des Monies IA. The dishes aren't clean. The food comes to you cold. The sever forgot our drinks. She went to get them but never came back with them. The side order of broccoli was brown. Also when she comes out with our food she informs us that they was out of dinner rolls. And said they had to make more. (Right) We tried to eat the food. But have you ever tried to eat cold gravy it's gross. When we go to pay the lady asked how it was. I was thinking good someone that cares about there customers . I told her it was bad. She wanted to know what was wrong, and where we was sat. We showed her. She became snotty you don't have to pay. JUST LEAVE. Instead of feeling great when leaving this restaurant we was frustrated about what had just happened . We would of rather of gotten good food and good service and paid for it. Never will we ever eat there again.

Village Inn Restaurants bad food+ grumpy waitress= never again

It is September 5, 2015 and I just got home from one of the worst experiences I have ever had at my regular Village Inn. We asked for a table, got put in a booth(in an empty restaurant), and when our waitress showed up to get our drink order, she never once looked at us or smiled. When she came back, we told her we were not ready just yet to order our meals... she never came back. 15 minutes later, we motioned for the lady at the counter to come over saying that we never got to order. 5 minutes later our original waitress came back and rudely asked us what we wanted. We told her and we never saw her again. It was the assistant manager who brought our food and refilled our drinks. Anyway, when I got my meal (what I always get) the turkey breast was crumpled and it looked like someone had just hurriedly thrown all my meal's contents on a plate. The turkey still had all its rubbery fat and nasty parts on it too..that has never happened to me before. Needless to say, with the poor service and sloppy meal, I will not be going back. I hope that they fire that girl for making the assistant manager do her job.

Village Inn Restaurants health

Went to Village Inn today for my free piece of pie. I was seated and no one came over to take my order. The waitress finally went to some older folks across from me and I heard them tell her I had been waiting for a while. She came over, asked what I wanted. I asked if they had sugar free pie (I am diabetic) and she said yes apple. I said I would have that, coffee and water. I waited a few minutes and she brought my coffee and water. Waited and waited and finally got my pie. I took a few bites from it and started to look at the top of the pie. It had sugar crystals on it. Waitress finally came over after about 8 minutes and I asked her if it was sugar free. She said no do you want the other pie? Really. I specifically asked for sugar free. When I got home my sugar was about 300. NOT GOOD. That is a very dangerous mistake.

Village Inn Restaurants made order wrong twice, waiter kept forgetting food and manager was very rude.

We got our food except my husbands. The waitor said the chef had to make it again. My husband got his food and it was still wrong. the waitor forgot all the rest of our food we ordered. We had to keep asking if he got the pancakes and sausage and bacon. My sausage came out cold he never brought me my sausage he said would. The food came out and was still wrong. So he took the food back and they remade the order but forgot the extra eggs this time. By than it had been maybe 40 minutes we said forget it. Still we had continue to ask where the rest of our food was? Than the waitor offers pie after we asked if we could some kind of discount he said yes came with our pie and never brought our check. We debated so do we have to pay for the bill or not. So we asked and they brought the bill and messed it up and tried to charge us extra. We asked the night manager about it and Katrina very rudely said there was nothing she could do about it at all because we got free pie. We argued considering my husband and I did not get to eat together and had to sit there for over an hour waiting to get our food that never came out right in the end. Katrina took off the pancakes they tried to over charge us for by its almost 11 we got there around 9. I'm tired pregnant and not happy with service I got at all. And I will never go there again but I think Katrina should be demoted she handled our situation very poorly and rudely and not once did she come to our table to assist or see what was going on and fix the problem. She acted like she did not care and seemed to occupied making silly conversation with her other colleges. Never again will we eat there and not to mention the night chef is always messing the orders up. I've been in there before when he was getting screamed at for messing up orders on other occasions. Tonight nothing was said or done.

Village Inn Restaurants idiots

I consider myself to be pretty level- headed and not quick to jump the gun, however the Village Inn on Ken- Caryl and c470 has horrible service and I swear some, not all, of the staff are crack heads. This is the third occasion where my order has been royally messed up to the point where they brought me the completely wrong meal altogether. Furthermore, never has a waitress offered my compensation in the form of a refund for totally messing up my order and having me wait close to twenty minutes extra while my company eats their meal. Additionally, the waitress seemed to feel like some if this was my fault and her attitude complimented that feeling. I'm not going to lie, I come here quite often and can't help but notice the behavior of the evening staff. Frequent trips to the bathroom and sporadic behavior and conversation has lead me and others to believe a few if the staff are definitely on something. All In all, I don't usually do this but I believe in good service, and I hold myself to the same standards. Some of the staff here are unprofessional and rude and I don't recommend this location. I certainly know that the is my last visit

This was my second time @ Dale Mabry fl..first time was free pie day, and they charged me for both that we did not want, always check the bill.No money's was returned. Oh! Yes We didn't even get pie. Do not order the Shepard pie it' s a pound of potatoes instance at that!, , The manager sucked rude, and I can’t a person to vent my frustration . Most of us take the bad service, quality, , attitude, and just rude service. But this is my first complaint, but it will now happen at the restaurant next time. Here's a good laugh I worked at Village Inn when I first moved here. I am a consumer hear my roar .. Thank you if you read this,

Village Inn Restaurants manager appeared intoxicated

Usually I absolutely adore going to this cute little diner and I have never, ever experienced anything like this at this resturant or at any other resturant but tonight, things were running a little slow, which is unusual, at least in my past experiences. Anyway, I called my waitress over and asked how long she thought it would be until my party and I recieved our food. In a sarcastic tone she snapped back "let me go check" while letting out a HUGE sigh. Being offended I asked to speak to her manager. Next thing I knew, I had this "kid" who was easily half my age and who absolutely wreaked of beer/alcohol stumble over to me to ask what was the problem. Thank goodness he was not the aggressive drunk type or else I dont know what could've happened. He should not have been at work and he sure as heck shouldn't be in a management position. Village Inn lost a LONG TIME CUSTOMER tonight.

Village Inn Restaurants Suggestive sales excessive

My wife tells me she went down to Village Inn June 8 2012 to order a Cobb Salad to go and the manager there asks: "Would you like some pie?", she says no, and he asks (according to my wife) "are you sure?" Now this makes her angry and I already got on this store for doing that. Then on her way out he says "we'll see you on Wednesday for free pie".
Village Inn, many people hate you for the endless harassment. If there were a Denny's close by I would NEVER set foot in Village Inn. I eat healthy, if I wanted frozen pies (as they come in to Village Inn frozen) then I would just go to King Soopers or Safeway but some of us don't want to be obese so leave us alone and if your precious pie is so valuable to you that you insist on running away the customers who don't want pie then just become a Pie Shop and let Denny's take up the slack. Your persistence tells me you do not appreciate me, a non pie eating customer that you have to twist my arm, "Are You Sure You Don't Want Pie?" That's Bull S***. I said no so leave me alone, I don't want pie today and I don't want your damn pie on Free Wednesdays and it should tell you something that if you don't see me there on Wednesday shoving free pie into my face means that you can't even give it away to me for free and I won't even give it to my dogs because I care about my dogs health as much as I care about mine.

What I do when I eat at Village Inn is I tell the waitress in advance when I order that "I will not be having any pie or desert so please don't ask me". Believe it or not that does not work in some stores. At a different store in Denver The waitress says, "make sure you save room for pie" so I have to stop her and ask, "did you not hear what I just said?" she says, "yes but I have to do that", so I get the manager, and the manager insists to me that they must do that, I said "No You Don't. I don't want pie, and I don't want you pestering me 3 to 5 times before I get out of here because it goes like this: Save room for pie, Do you want pie? (I say no), Are you sure you don't want any pie, (say No, I don't want pie) then at the cashier, Do you want any pie to take home? (I say no) Are you sure you don't want to take a piece of pie home with you?( say no) So I tell her, I Do Not Want Pie, Why must you twist my arm? What happened to doing what the customer wants? I don't ask for much, Is it so difficult that I politely say I do not want any pie from the very start that you can't leave me alone on that one thing?

I despise Village Inn Corporate offices for being so disrespectful and so disconnected from their customers that they must treat me in such a low manner that what I want is insignificant. Just imagine how many customers you piss off. I sit and watch your customer's expressions and they are certainly not expressions of joy and happiness but more like they are extremely annoyed as they are pestered for the 4th or 5th time.

They stopped the arm twisting tactics over pie pushing, things are normal now without the pressure that you MUST get a free pie or you aren't normal for saying no I do not want pie.

Village Inn Restaurants lackluster

In the last three visits to this restaurant I have been disappointed by lackluster preparation of food, missing ingrediants, undercooked, and small portion size.
The staff seems from High School and the manager moves furniture by using his feet to kick high chairs to the side to appropriate space.
The same items found on identicale menu's can be found better preparered at similar restaurants with larger portions and better preparations and service.
Will not be going back to Village Inn altogether. This chain has lost it's ambiance and notariety with altogether.

Village Inn Restaurants botched eggs benedict twice

I have seen over the past few years a decline in Village Inn Customer service and food quality, in the late 70s a friend turned me on to Eggs Benedict and the only place that made it good was Village Inn it was one of their signature dishes. A new restaurant opened up in Altoona so we went there at first the service and food was good but in the last year it has gone down hill. Six months ago I ordered Eggs Benedict and I told the server make sure the eggs are poached soft the way they're supposed to be but when they arrived they were hard as rocks so I sent them back again saying that the eggs needed to be soft but when they came back the eggs weren't poached they were fried and hard again.

I'm not the shy or timid type and I was starting to get heated so I sent them back again pointing out that this is supposed to be a VI signature dish and gave the server instructions on how the dish was to be served but when it came back for a third time the eggs were poached but again hard as rocks. I told him that I had no intentions of paying for their mistake and ordered a hamburger instead.

Fast-forward to tonight the day before Thanksgiving the only reason we went back was to pick up a pie (which they were out of) but no matter I thought I would give VI one last try thinking that maybe the chefs had been changed, nope no such luck the eggs were again hard as rocks even after I explained to the waitress to poach them soft, I sent them back and they returned in the same condition poached hard as a rock. This is the last time I will eat at The Village Inn, I demanded and received the charge for the dish be taken off of our check.

Village Inn Restaurants - discrimination

We were eating breakfast, there was a manager going aroung asking every table how their breakfast was, when he got close to our table he passed us up and went to the table behind us and all the other table s which every other table beside ours was caucasion. I told my mother "its because we are hispanic" She agreed, I thought racism was not bad anymore...

Village Inn Restaurants overcharge my meal by double

As a disabled person, its dfficult for me to get out and a about...it's a treat to dine out with a friend but I had that chance yesterday and we went to Village Inn here in Colorado Springs, CO. When I paid for me bill using my debit card, I wrote a note on the receipt that the TIP was a "cash tip" and wrote a slash (zero) amt. in the tip portion of my bill. Instead, they charged me not only the $10.83 for my meal but also $10.83 for the tip as well. My bill came to 21.66...DOUBLE what it should have been.
When I got home, I noticed the next morning that they double charged me and called them. The manager wanted me to "come in" so he could fix it. Hmmmm...why would I have to come in, dragging in my oxygen tank and cane ...this is a hardship for me. They did appologize over the phone. Okay...that's nice but if I were the manager, I would surely offer a piece of pie or cup of coffee or something gratis for the considerable trouble I have to go through. Next time, I'll just call my bank and dispute the charges and let the bureauacracy work it out instead of me. Seems like Village Inn just says, "Oh, sorry 'bout that..." and that's pretty much it...People don't give a hoot what trouble they put you through.

Village Inn Restaurants poison food

If you go to the Village Inn in West El Paso for breakfast you'll be sorely disappointed, and you might even get food poisoning! For me, third time was definitely not the charm. All three times I went to the Mesa St. restaurants, I was served a cold breakfast, and every time I had to send the breakfast back to be reheated. I complained to management, but they just gave me excuses. Needless to say I will never set foot in a Village Inn restaurant again. When in El Paso, go to McDonalds for breakfast. You get a better value for the price.

Village Inn Restaurants cold food!

I went to Village Inn with my brother and a friend. I ordered the chicken with mashed potatoes. We were eating and having a fund time but when I went to eat the chicken, it was ice cold. I wasn't going to say anything a first because I'm really not the type to complain but my brother called our waitress over and told her my chicken was cold. It wasn't even that it was luke warm as if it has been sitting out for a while, it was ice cold like it had not been cooked properly! Very sanitary. Anyways, the waitress says she will get the manager. After a few minutes, a woman walks over, doesn't identify herself as the manager or anything and asks if we need anything. Assuming she was just another waitress who wanted to refill our soda or whatever, we say no.

As soon as she walks away, I start to wonder if that was the manager so I ask our waitress to send her over again. She comes back over, I tell her that the chicken is ice cold. What I can't get over is her response to my complaint. She said "You didn't say anything the first time I came over so the most I will do is put it in the microwave." It had been maybe a couple minutes since she had been over the first time. I didn't even know what to say to that. She did say she would get me something else, but I would have to pay for both meals. Of course I ended up paying for the chicken because what else was I supposed to do, but I've told all my friends and family about it and they were just as disgusted as I was and said they will never eat there again!
