My Xbox 360 had the red ring of death but I read on their website that they could repair it. The site said the diagnostic was free. I dropped it off at the drop off window. I then received from them that it was not repairable and they tried to sell me an Xbox 360 slim with no hard drive for $150.00, which is more than double what it's worth, plus the trade...

VideoGame911.com Don't Do It

I went to this company to fix my YLOD on my PS3, even though the reviews I read were less than stellar. I should've listened and not let my desire to get my PS3 fixed quickly get the best of me. The "owner" was rude, one step away from saying "what's the problem, ok get out". Then 3 days later when I came to pick the PS3 up he acted like he never saw me before. That's just bad customer service. He went over some detailed story of how dust was the culprit and its now fixed. He wouldn't go into any more detail of the "fix". The YLOD was fixed but the strange sound that was previously coming from the PS3 still existed. The owner claimed the system had a 90 day warranty and then 103 days later, same issue. Of course now they want to hit me for another $140 to fix the system with the same issue again. Just a bad feeling and a shotty business all around. I have since gone to a company that not only details the work but actually has YouTube videos (should you feel the need to fix it yourself). My system is now stronger than ever and continues to work at top condition. I would never go to videogame911 again and certainly would not recommend it to anyone.

VideoGame911.com Awful Customer Service

My experience with this company was simply dreadful. My playstation 3 broke and rather than send it to Sony and wait weeks I decided to try these guys out. They live near me so I was lucky enough to be able to drive my console to them rather than pay shipping fees. I consider myself rather tech savvy so knowing my HDD was NOT bad, I decided not to bring it with the console, since a repair facility would have other HDDs they could use.

I arrive there and to make a long story short, they were very combative and argumentative about me not having my hard drive. I argued with them for over 5 minutes that my hard drive was not the issue, it was the console itself, and I just need the thing to boot up again. Hard drive error message I can address myself. They would not accept this. Instead, continually talking to me the way they would with someone they perceived to be less technologically inclined.

I received such comments as "What's stopping you from going home and bringing your hard drive back here?" To which I smugly replied, "I dunno? Traffic? Laziness?" Due to their very abrasive nature, I finally conceded and agreed to fetch my HDD but of course not without jabbing them with one other smart aleck comment. "What else do you guys need from me that you don't have? A power cord? An HDMI cable? I got it all."

I get an e-mail within two hours that my console has water damage and unrepairable. Great. Thanks guys, for making me play fetch for absolutely no reason.

I return the next day and I ask to see this alleged "water damage" to which he abrasively replies "No" and the guy makes me fill out an online order form. I argue that it's pointless when they can't even repair my console. Nevertheless he makes me do it anyway. He said it's so they know to close my console back up, because sometimes people sell them their damaged systems and they harvest the parts. I complete his silly form and he says he'll talk to the tech and see if he'd "let" me see the water damage. To my amazement, my console was already put back together! I guess they made the decision for me that they don't want to buy it off me, nor let me see the water damage. I refused to shake the guy's hand and left the store, never to return.

To sum up: There is no reason for them to have a physical store, they are not friendly or customer service oriented. They need to stick with being an online business only, where they have little or no interaction with real people. Their repair skills I cannot rate because they did nothing. Quick turnaround with the console diagnosis and got it back to me within 24 hours as promised.

Such little people skills and general shadiness that if I didn't know exactly where the water damage came from, I would have suspected they themselves spilled something on it.

I regrettably sent my blur ray drive to them to get estimate to fix. Boy I should have read the comments and complaints before hand. Customer service was not very good at all. I sent just the Blu ray, stated the motherboard was dirty and the fan needed cleaning. WTF. That component doesn't have fan and I didn't send the unit. Said it would be 193.00 that the spindle and blu ray was damaged and the unit needed extensive cleaning. Then sent response saying they needed the whole unit and I could have the work done, pay 30 bucks to have it sent back, or they would give me 45 for parts. WTF. Free diagnostic if you pay their outrageous price to have it fixed. Then their website is a joke to navigate and I ended up with three other invoices. One was non repair return for 25 dollars. Why the difference? I sent my unit to them Usps priority for 7.30 minus the 30 bucks that's say 22 for diagnostic for what ten minutes of work? UNFAIR DON'T send units to this company they SUCK!

I have gotten a few systems repaired by www.videogame911.com and always had fast service. The online communication made it really easy to deal with and they gave 90 day warrantys with the repairs. all in all it was a quick easy transaction and the prices weren't so bad. Obviously they can't please everyone but my business with them was pleasant and uneventful. They even repaired my PS3 that I basically took apart and didn't think had a chance.

I recently had my PS3 "repaired" with VG911. It was a absolutely horrible experience. I mailed my system in a few weeks back because they guaranteed a 24 hour turn around time. Well what they fail to explain to you is it is 24 for hours from the time they give you a estimate. Which in my case it was a week and a half before they provided me with one. Then not only did they charge me for the repair but also for additional services that my system didnt need. I called them several times everyday my phone calls were never returned. They ask that you communicate with them through your online order but the answers that they give you seem to be automated and not specific to your question. Finally I got some [censor] guy on the phone when I threatened to call the better business buraeu on them. The Man I talked to there named Vincent claimed to be a manager there. He was horribly rude and talked down to me when I all I was trying to get was answers as to why I was being charged for all the extras. Because of this I decided to not have my system repaired with them at all. Then to add insult to injury they told me in order to have my system return shipped to me I would need to pay the diagnostic fee plus return shipping.when on their website they claim both are free. Also I did a little research when I made my complaint with the BBB. This company claims to be BBB accredited which they are not! Thus far worst experience ever and worst customer service ever. If you looking to get your game system fixed quickly for a fair price. Dont go here.

I've gotten 3 orders through them in the past year...one was a 20 GB ps3, a nintendo DSI and a 60GB Ps3...both Ps3 were repaired successfully and arrived home in 2 days. The Nintendo DSI was water damaged (I knew this since my cousin had spilled a glass of water all over it) but was offered a new one from them for $140 ($30 discount) which was not bad at all considering Nintendo DSI were costing about $190 with taxes at that time so I took the offer.

Overall the support and the experience was great and the cost is not bad at all considering sony wouldve charge me well over $200 since one was a motherboard issue (the most costly problem in a ps3) and the other was a bluray replacement (which was about $100- i doubt sony would charge me less than $150 for that. Sorry that you guys had bad experiences with it but I like this company and how they work

Never go to videogame911...EVER! I had to learn the hard way, they are the worst. Trust me, if your PS3 or 360 breaks down, just send it to Sony or Microsoft respectively. You will be glad you did. I'm not even sure the guys at videogame911 are real techs, they do such horrible work.

VideoGame911.com Absolutely horrible experiences

So my 360 broke around February 2009, so I sent my console to videogame911 in high hopes that they would easily fix it. They charged me $100 and I was happy. That is, until around May, my console broke again. My warranty expired, so I tried it once more, and paid another $100. Then around July, my console broke. This time I was happy because I was under warranty! Big mistake.

This company only wants to dry out as much money as they can from you, so they made up an excuse that the part that broke wasn't under warranty, so I ended up buying a refurbished console from them for $150. Turns out this broke too in only 2 months. So, tired of paying the repair money, I tried to fix it myself, using a method called x clamp method for only around $10.

Guess what? Turns out Videogame 911 used the X-clamp method on their refurbished xboxes. So let me see, I paid $150 for something they did for $10? Not only that, they poorly placed the xbox in the room because there was SO MUCH DUST when I opened it. No wonder my xbox broke, the dust clogged up the fans.

Videogame 911? I would suggest that NO ONE EVER USE THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY. All they will do is try to shake as much money from you and do a poor job on repair so you have to send it back again.

VideoGame911.com repairs a joke

I have had issues with my 360 elite for the longest time. I was given the option to try out videogame911.com to fix my 360 which kept of freezing and giving me the 3rrod. They charge $156 to repair it of course you have to pay to ship it. We overnight it for $86 and they get it and send it back saying it was repaired. I get the thing back boot it up and everything seems fine. I put in Halo 3:ODST since I got it back on the day of it's release and I start to see whites lines flicker across the screen, okay so I continue to play and see green and red light flicker on the screen. I am now getting worried, so I pop in Ghostbuster's the game and see the same thing. They apparently fixed one problem but added another. I am very annoyed as this is a problem that is easily noticed, how in the heck could they not notice this problem before they sent it back. So We contact them to initiate another repair to fix this problem, we send an email thoroughly explaining the issue we are having. It seems to only occur when we play a disc based game. A demo or xbla title and it's fine. Again we overnight it and it's $86 they ship ground so it takes 5 business days to get it back. Today I get it back and boot up Halo 3: ODST and to my surprise the same exact issue they didn't even bother to fix it; again it's noticeable right from the moment the disc starts. I am at a loss, I sure as heck don't want to send it back and waste the money when they don't do squat. I am going to see about initiating a refund or something, probably contact the BBB. This is pathetic on their part I mean I can understand freezing issues as they don't always occur but when you immediately see the issue and you still have the gall to send it back stating it was repaired is another.

VideoGame911.com poor repair

Mt experience with video game 911 was awful. My playstation would not play a Bluray. I sent it to Videogame911 and paid them 156.00 for the repair. When the unit came back I put the first disc in and the PS3 shutoff and wouldn't power on. I paid to send it back to them again and they wouldn't repair it without me paying another 100.00. I fought with them but ended up paying 50.00 for the repair. The unit comes back for the second time and the video is jumping on the screen. I contacted them and they said to send it back to them again. I shipped the unit to them at my expense and was told I would have to give them even more money to get my unit back working. In our discussions I realized they were testing only the standard def, composite video output and this is why they didn't see the problem. Very strange thing to do on a high def device. I argued with them but they would not return my unit. I was forced to pay them three times for 1 repair. I should have just sent it to sony for repair. DO NOT USE VIDEOGAME911. I have paid them over 240.00 not counting all my shipping cost. I also lost a controller due to shipping damage in the whole process. VERY UNHAPPY!

I took a chance on these guys rather than send my failing PS3 to Sony. With their online communication it seemed like they knew what they were doing; I authorized and paid for a Blu ray drive motor repair, along with a HDD upgrade. I spent a lot of time online researching what could be wrong with my PS3, and I was afraid it was a damaged Blu ray Lens because of the way it was acting, so $98 for drive repairs and about 2-3 days in the shop= not bad!
Unfortunately, while they did seem to get the PS3 to accept discs, it still doesn't read them properly, and is no more functional than when I shipped it to them. They could not have tested my system as they said they did; this would have been noticed immediately! Now I think my fears were probably right: I think I need to replace the entire Blu Ray drive (which I'm comfortable doing myself and should cost less than $98), but I basically paid these guys around $180 for an HDD upgrade to a broken system.
Don't be dumb like me; either do not use VG911, or if you do, when they offer you $75 for your busted system take the money and put it towards another system.

this review is for a store called video game 911 which is located on 411 east main st denville n.j. i brought my x-box into that dump to get fixed because they told me that it would only take 24 hours to fix, (which was the biggest crock of [censor]) it took them two weeks for them to tell me that they could not get my x-box to work and the owner (some little cocky doofball with the big nose named vince) told me that i could buy a re-furbished x-box for $250.00 that place is a joke, you can buy brand new ones for $199.00 not only could they not fix it but they messed it up alot worse then it was when i first brought it there, screws were missing the side of the machine was chipped . now my machine is just a plastic box worth nothing. i do not recommend this place to anyone unless you want to turn your game system into a ash tray because that is the only thing you can use it for after those get done with it. while i was there i heard the way that this little smuck was talking to his employees and i feel bad for them, he has a bunch of young kids working there and all he did was yell at them and tell me that they were stupid like that is what i wanted to hear while they were working on my system. i should of turned around as soon as i got there because when you pull up to the place it looks like a auto repair shop. my advice is drive right buy that dump and dont ever look back.

I sent my PS3 to video game 911 in January. By June it had failed again, so I decided to send it back to them. Since the 90 day warranty had expired, I had to pay a little over $150 plus shipping. I received my PS3 back shortly after July 4th, and by July 16, it failed again! This time the repairs were still under warranty, so I sent the PS3 right back to them (I still had to pay to ship it) so they could repair it for free. At first, they didn't want to honor the warranty, but after several e-mails they realized that I was not going to take no for an answer and agreed to fix my PS3. On July 30, I received my PS3 back from them and when I tried to power it on...nothing! They hadn't even fixed the darn thing! Today I sent them an e-mail asking them why no repairs were made. I am still awaiting their reply. At this point, I am not willing to accept anything less than a full refund and if they do not wish to comply then I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. DO NOT SEND YOUR CONSOLE TO VIDEO GAME 911!
