Caliber Home Loans still getting calls on foreclosed property

Our property was sold over a year ago that Vericrest Mortgage held the mortgage to. We recieved the 1099a's for both the 1st and 2nd loans in January 2010 and filed them with the IRS as you are required to do so. Now, over a year later, we are again recieving calls from the foreclosure department at Vericrest Mortgage claiming the property hasn't been forclosed on when we have the legal court papers in hand that state he has been! I would not recomment this company to anyone who needs financing for any reason! Obivously one hand does not know what the other is doing. We are still battling this one out trying to get this matter taken care of.

Vericrest Financial is very tough to battle alone. They operate just like a giant collection agency. They will add in bogus alleged missed payments, late charges and escrow fees. You must fight them aggressively with imminent bankruptcy & forced legal complaints. We have been succesful handling many cases v. Vericrest. Fell free to call 877.297.7011 or visit www.Fresh-Start.co for more info.

Caliber Home Loans - Loan Modification

Vericrest is the most evil mortgage company ever!!! I have 9.12% Interest only loan which is amortized over 40 years and I have tried three times to modify my loan to no avail. I tried to prove through extreme hardship (Loss of income and undervalued property) and that I just cant make the mortgage. Every time I send in the documents they want more and...

Caliber Home Loans Modification unthruths

I too have had numerous negative experiences with Vericrest Financial FKA The CIT Group Mortgage/Financial Services.

They show little to no curtesy by phone, they constantly add false late fees to my account, I always pay on time.

I also applied for a loan modification in fall 2009. When I made the initial call, I asked if they were part of the "Making Homes Affordable" government program and the female individual stated "we have our own program and it's better." They sent me the package, I faxed the paper work within the time frame given. After two months I did not hear from them. I called, the rep said it had been reviewed and sent to upper management and they were just trying to decide what package they would offer me. One month went by still had not heard anything. I called again the young lady first said she saw nothing on my account regarding a loan modification when I began to question the situation and explain to her what I was told a month earlier, she then stated that she saw the info on my account, but I needed to call back in 7 days, called back a month later and was told my application had been denied because I was always on time. Still praying for this company to practice honest and fair business. They do have an ethical and social responsibility.

You need to complain to the Better business bureau when you have any problems with any company, bank and mortgage companies. That is the only way you will get results. People just do not know this. Go to the Better Business Bureau(website) and you will find there are 101 complaints against this company that now has changed their name. The reason being is cause of all the complaints against them. I to am having problems with them. When we first got sold out to vericrest I looked on line for any complaints so I know what I'm dealing with. They did not want to accept our payment on the phone they wanted it by mail cause they wanted us to pay late charges. I told the guy off and he dismissed the late charges. Told him there are 101 complaints at the BBB, and people was calling the company evil. Vericrest is only our servicer Freddie mac owns our note. Well I do not think they will be giving me any trouble any more cause they know I know about the BBB. And that is what you should do if you have anymore trouble with them, I'm sure they do not want anymore complaints with the BBB I think that is why they changed their name.

Please know that they will concintue this until enough people complain to the proper authorities. Complain to the FTC, the FDIC and your state Attorney General and Insurance and Mortgage division. Complain to your federal Senators and UH House Reps and state in wirting.
They are not a bank. They have played a lot of games and it appears to me their goal is to foreclose on people or push them into short sales as the govt is rewarding them the past 10 years by giving them the difference4 at closing. They actually make more money by foreclosing on you or a short sale than working with you. They told me they wouldn't work with HAMP and they claim to work with the Hardest Hit Program, but in my experience they won't. Get on the phone now and send documented letters or go to the FTC website and your Attorney Generals website.

Caliber Home Loans escrow/reimbursement

It's somewhat comforting to see I'm not alone(misery loves company)but Vericrest has to be the most scandolus company on the planet.I've been waiting for a homeowners insurance reimbersement for 7 MONTHS now...every time I call I have to explain from the begining my story.I'm so frustated with them I can't even write this complaint. They had been stating for 4 months that they paid my insurance even though they did not. Finally after I paid myself they admitted to making the mistake, they talked to my insurance company and I would be reimbursed.Seven months later there excuses change with every phone call and I'm still waiting for payment...Does anyone know that CIT recieved bailout money and still went bankrupt before Vericrest purchased them? They really give the Mortgage/Banking Industry a bad name.

vericrest took over our boat loan from Citi a year ago and have been charging us for insurance since they took it over, they keep telling us they do not have proof of insurance but we and our insurance company have faxed copies repeatly. I sent the an email yesterday and asked what the extra "fee billed" and "unpaid other charges" are and there response was; the charges are for FLOOD insurance on the acct that they do not have proof of! Who charges FLOOD INSURANCE for a BOAT, this company needs to look at what they are doing to their customers. How many people do they actually get to pay this extra amount without questioning it, they need to be reported.

mortgage statements cannot be viewed online two months now.Escrow account was badly miscalculated, when I called I decided to cancel
my account because the person I talked to could care less. I recently received a letter telling me they purchased mortgage insurance for me although I have had nonstop coverage and sent them confirmation. This company is out of control!

They purchased Insurance for us because we let it lapse (big mistake) we got our own again within two months. My first clue was when my insurance agent claimed that when he talked to them to send over all the paperwork, they got very rude and difficult, he didn't understand it. I thought it was strange, but forgot about it. Then I find out they started claiming that they never got proper notice and never cancelled it. Hogwash! I dug up the letter they sent me, stating they would cancel the insurance and that they recieved notice that I have my own homeowner's insurance.

I smell a rotten something in Denmark(Oklahoma) if you know what I mean. I am getting paranoid that Vericrest is going down fast, so upper management is trying to suck up as much money as possible before the whole company tanks completely.

Caliber Home Loans Short Sale

VeriCrest Financial, Inc. is holding people's homes hostage.

VeriCrest Financial, Inc. is refusing to proceed with bank short sales unless they receive a 20% payoff to release their lien in 2nd position. The lender in 2nd lien position stands to gain NOTHING at sheriff's sale. $0.

This act alone is forcing homes into foreclosure rather than allowing the home to be sold as a short sale.

Why would VeriCrest Financial, Inc. expect to be paid more money than all of the other lenders who accept a 10% payoff?

Is VeriCrest Financial, Inc. discriminating against protected classes by approving some short sales and not others?

I would enjoy hearing about any insights or experiences that people may have with this company.

Our mortgage was with CIT and we never missed a payment. They supposedly sold our mortgage to Vericrest, but as we found out, Vericrest is owned and operated by CIT. Eight months ago they took out an escrow, which we never had and had opted out of on our original mortgage. They changed our payment by doubling it to the point that I can not pay it. They then refused my payments. They will not even try to work with our lawyer.. The Lord needs to punish them...

Vericrest is the worst company I've ever dealt with! Lies, lies, put you on hold, never call you back, games, games, refuse to help, bait and switch, truth in lending? LOL...this company needs to be put out of business and their agenda seems to me to be clear. They bought the mortgages at a fraction of the cost and make money with the federal govt by a short sale or foreclosure! Bombard them and contact the FTC...www.ftc.com...to stop them from hurting more people and destroying more lives! these people are in my opinion evil at best!

I have a similiar problem with Veriquest. I have a loan that was taken over by Veriquest, purchased by them. Two years ago I called an asked what the pay off price was on my motor home, and they gave me a number, 2 years later, the total loan has only gone down $4000.00. I called them and they indicated that I am paying daily interest. I asked them how that happened and they said I agreed to it.
I called for a short sale amount. The first person hung up on me. The second person said they would pass it on to the short sale department and call back in a week. I did, and the woman I talked to said the VP who signed those had been on a vacation in Italy and had not had time to review it to call back in a week.

Does anyone know if there is a class action law suit against them? Thanks

At the end of November 2010 I called Veriquest to bring my loan back up to date. I paid $310 and the representative told me that if I paid $36.76 in December 2010 I would be brought up to date and my next regular payment would not be due until Jan 24th 2011. I paid $50 in December so I would be a little more than caught up. I received my Jan 2011 statement and it stated that I was still behind and received another late fee. I called the company to see what might have happened and the lady was extremely rude and basicly told me it was my fault and I was responsible and should have read my statement. I explained to her that I was trying very hard to get my loan caught up and that is why I called to get a balance that was due and I paid what I was told. She said that i have an extremely large amount of late fees and it is my fault and that I should not take what the representative have to say for face value and I should always pay what my statement says no matter what any of the representatives tell me. I truely got no where with this rep. and am very dissappointed. How are you suppose to get back on track if the representatives they hire are not knowledgeable? She also let me know that the rep that gave me the information in the first place no longer works there. Interesting. I will never refer or do business with this company again.

I have tried desperately to work with Veriquest for a loan modification. My husband's job cut back to three days a week, and I was layed off in Dec. We sent numberous faxes that they claimed to have never received after each follow up. We then sent registered letters that were signed. Upon yet more followups, the company could not locate the documents. Being a Pennsylvania licensed realtor I know by law that they can not issue an Act 91 unless you were 90 days late, in which I was carefull to avoid. After being 45 days late I was sent on 3 seperate occasions Act 91's. Finally they receive my paper work after 7 months and claim because I have equity they can't help me. Not only that, but they DEMANDED 4k and sent my payment back so that I would be 3 months behind. I asked where they get 4K from? Late fees, costs ect... I am retaining an Attorney and will sue them. I also advise fellow REALTORS to not recommend this preditor lender formerly known as CIT

Caliber Home Loans Forclosure

I have been with CIT since May 20 20oo and I must say not ONE problem or Late fee. When Vericrest took over CIT my whole world got turned upside down. Constant harrassing rude inappropriate calls that I was behind on my payments. I tried and tried to get someone to discuss my payments with me but they would always say their records do not go back that far and they could never send me what they were looking at. Then I received foreclosure papers- my husband and I almost separated because he didn’t believe I was truly making the payments. Back in Aug 2007 I lost my job of 8 years, did not receive my guaranteed severance package, at the time I was 8 months pregnant. I had never been late on my payments so I did what I felt was right and called my mortgage company (CIT) to see if there was anything I could do. they said absolutely, and I did a deferment for 3 months. CIT guaranteed me they would keep my payments current and add the 3 months to the back of my loan. Exactly what they did! My deferment was from sept, oct, nov, making my next payment dec. I however paid 2 payments in October, one in November, and continued to make my payments on time. When I started receiving these calls I would beg them to go back to my deferment date and move forward. They rudely refused and would proceed to humiliate me asking why I never made last months payment, (which I did) I literally could write a book about this but it gets better. I finally got the bank and get every cancelled check since Aug 2007 I had even made 15 payments in 12 months. After over 200 hours of staying on hold, getting disconnected, taking 3 days off of work finally get this Steve guy in the foreclosure dept who says he can definitely go back to Aug 07..then he tells me "You were never approved for deferment" luckily I had my letter in my hand then he said let get with legal and I will call you back by 2pm..OF course NO CALL and when I finally reach Steve 3 day’s later-he says I got news we are going to defer these late payments until Aug and we will take you out of foreclosure. Being in the mortgage business myself I was outraged and of course he could not send me anything stating it was a mistake on their end. I waited until I received my statement showing I was current before pushing the issue any further. Then I get a letter that made no sense stating I was approved for modification. I called and spoke with this lady on the phone who says they lowered my payment $350 and if my I make my payments on time for 2 years they will forgive 54000 but I had to sign and notarize this paper and fax in today and then overnighter as it stated I had 10 days to accept and this was the 10th day- very odd considering they overnighted me the form. I did what she told me to do and then I had an attorney look at the letter and he said that is absolutely NOT what they are saying basically it was all a lie. He advised me to sell my house or refinance. I ordered the payoff and it was 198k I bought my house in 2000 for 176K...have never touched the mortgage. Now every time I call my payment is different never the same and it has had a different due date 3 times. I have given up so they advised me to do a short sale, explain the process to me. At this point I will do anything to get away from this company- they spoke with my realtor on more than one occasion and then once I received a contract they told me and my realtor I do not qualify for a short sale. In the past 2 days I received my 1099 for interest which was only for $6100-completely wrong (I even have a print out I had printed showing I paid 13, 100 in interest last year) tonight I received a 1099 for $54000- money I will have to pay taxes on but yet they cant tell me what is for accept that I am responsible. Now for the best part...if I let my house go which is what I am going to have to do just to save my marriage and for my health. I will NOT have a job as you cannot have a foreclosure in my line of work come June 2010. I am calling an attorney tomorrow. I called the attorney general and they said that cannot guarantee they will look into this case that I must fill out this paperwork and send it in and if they have had enough complaints they will contact me. If anybody knows anything I can do please respond

I have had horrible experience with this company also. You need to file a complaint with the FDIC, FTC and your Attorney general as soon as possible. Also, contact your state and federal legislator. My Congressman wrote my letter to the FDIC. These agencies still have a process, but enought calls will get them going. Then tell Vericrest you did it. They make more money as most do with a foreclosure or short sale than by helping you out. Also ap;ploy for HAMP and the Hardest Hit Program if it is in your state. Vericrest may deny it, but keep notes! We need to fight!

This same thing is happening to my mother. I would love for her to file a complaint, but since her stroke she has a hard enough time remembering every day things, I don't expect she could write a letter and attach proof, especially since they will not send her any paperwork on how her payments are being applied, but I did make some calls for her requesting a amortization and they told me they don't have anything like that. Can you believe it! A home lender who doesn't know what that is! At this point I knew I was dealing with morans, and shes stuck because she is now retired and probably could never refinance. My mom wanted to see how much of her payments were being applied to equity vs. interest because every month her payments are also different and she is on a fixed loan. After 3 phone calls, I was finally told that they would send her the schedule, but never did. I think there are like 2 people in this office which I envision is out of their home down in the depressed area, I don't know, they are just really shady. What was CIT thinking selling these to mortgage companies that are not reputable or possible even legal. Maybe she should sue CIT.

Caliber Home Loans Forced Insurance

Have had RV loan for 14 years, without ever letting my insurance lapse, even for a second. Almost every year they try to force you into insurance coverage, claiming they never received a copy of your policy. I personally have mailed a copy to them several times, yet they never can find them, and try to charge me $700+ to cover them againsy Comp & Collision loss. I have had these coverages since loan inception thru other reputable insurance companies, who also have mailed them copies every year. As a former insurance company executive, I know how much commission they make by doing this, and it is a scam! I know two other people who have experienced the exact same thing. Beware if you any type of vehicle loan thru them!

You should always send them where they have to sign for the papers through the post office then they can not say they never got them. And if they refused them then you can contact the Better Business Bureau and put a complaint on line.

Caliber Home Loans Attorney's fees added to my loan balance

I had a line of equity loan with CIT originated in 2006. That loan was transferred to Vericrest in mid-2009. I have made payments on time every month, always paying much more than the minimum monthly payment in order to pay off the loan. Most payments were about double the minimum, many were three times the minimum. I have been a good customer for them.
Also, I have never been late on my home 1st mortgage, or actually on any debt. I am quite conservative on money, and pay all credit cards to zero every month, always buying cars for cash only and maintaining good savings.
On my December 09 statement from Vericrest, there is a $30 charge. After several calls, I found out that this was an attorney charge by Vericrest to check my credit to make sure there were no foreclosures or problems with any property or loans. Of course, there are none, and there was nothing that could have indicated that I have a problem. And for this, they charged me an attorney fee.
This is blatantly unfair, but the customer service person on the phone told me that they can legally do this because it is in the loan agreement. This is hard to believe.
If the CS operator is correct, Vericrest can rack on attorney fee charges all the time on my account with no reason to do so and without any results. I cannot believe this is legal, and I am going to search for how I can combat this criminal or unethical activity on the part of this company.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Caliber Home Loans False late fees

This nightmare started when Vericrest acquired CIT, about 3 months ago. I recieved a letter from them stating I had a past due balance of around $2oo. When I called to inquire I spoke with a very incompetent, undertrained male who had no clue what he was talking about, after rambling on with him for a few minutes, i asked to speak with a supervisor. She informed me that when they aquired the loan from my former mortage company, (CIT), they reviewed my account and came to the conclusion I owed several late fees over the past years that, CIT, didnt collect on. Outraged, I explained to this woman, I have not been late on my mortage and if i was late the fees were paid or they were incorporated into my principle balance. I asked her to give me dates, as I keep records of the date I make each of my mortage payments. She informed me she could only look back several months and could not give me the exacts but would send me out a payment history. I informed her, I dont need a payment history but she will need to give me exact dates if she thinks I am going to pay one penny of these trumped up late fees. She tells me she will forward the information to another department and they will look into it.

I too am having major problems with CIT Group/Vericrest Financial. I paid my house off in full November 2010, I only had 2 years left on a 15year mortgage and the balance due should have been approximately 14, 400.00 yet they made me pay 28, 800.00, charged me for 2 faxes that they never sent, charged me the $50.00 conveyance fee twice, and had 388.00 in fees that they couldn't tell me what they were even for. I paid the money, including the 388.00 and then Vericrest had the nerve to file a false credit report with the 3 major credit bureaus saying they had to "charge off" the $388.00 and I was 180 days past due, total bull feathers, and I still haven't received my deed to my property and it will be 2 years in November. They then sent the $388.00 to a collection agency after they alledgedly "charged off" the money I already paid them, who wrote and called and called and called (I only got their messages on my answering machine and by the time I got home, they were closed already for the day) and when they found out what Vericrest did said, "They can't do that!" and said they (the collection agency) would take care of the problem, yet it is still on my credit report and I still have to file a grievance on them every couple months with the credit bureaus and still nothing gets taken care of. I am at the end of my rope here. I call Vericrest and the right hand never knows what the left hand is doing and then they get snippy and treat me like I owe them millions of dollars and never paid on time ever, which is wrong. I believe my only option is to contact an attorney and sue them for fraudulent banking practices, theft of funds, filing false reports with the credit bureaus which really screws up the old credit rating, attorney fees, and punitive damages, and anything else I can think of just out of spite. Might even contact the CBS evening news and fill them in on Vericrest Financial or else everyone that has a complaint should band together and file a billion dollar class action suit against Vericrest and demand they pay everyone in the lawsuit in full immediately, pay the people they screwed not pay the court system a huge FINE, only one that benefits from that is the court. I know it probably won't do any good since corrupt banks seem to be the norm now a days but I don't know what else to do, any suggestions?

WoW... Vericrest is something else! Does anyone know of some formal complaint process or if any agency is looking into their Business Practices/ interactions with customers? Not only do I have the same problems listed above, but I have an insurance claim and they held my money hostage and wanted to Manage the project for me, without a Project Manager. These folks here at Vericrest must be skirting the law on many fronts. Don't you love those automated dialers that drill your phones repetively if you are one minute late? Then if your late say one payment, you owe them many thousands of dollars?

This garbage still goes on... I had a piano loan through CIT. I had some big financial problems and was late with several payments. I recieved late fee charges. CI T said that if I was ontime with my payments, they would likely remove all or part of the late fees at the end of the loan. Very nice. Vericrest took over. Over the last five months of payments, I called in the payments and talked with a representative. Each time I asked if I could make payments on the late fees or get them removed. They said the late fees could not be removed, but would be dealt with at the end. I got to the end of the loan at the end of August and sent in the final payment. They applied the final payment toward the late fees, charged another late fee and immediately sending me threatening letters demanding full payment. Since then, I've sent in a few payments and they have gone toward the late fees. It's funny... I am being charged about $75.00 per month for late fees and the remaining balance is increasing. How do they legally charge $75.00 late fees on a $350.00 bill? Well, the last payment sent was by check. I wrote "paid in full" on it. They cashed it. By cashing it, they agreed to release me from the remaining amount due. I know about this... I've been talking to an attorney. There is case law relating to Les Schwab Tire Company who tried suing someone after they, the tire company, cashed a check like this. Anyway, I am now in the process of sending a "take a hike jerks and don't contact me again and don't mess with my credit rating or I will sue you letter" to Vericrest. Also, I'm sending complaints to the fed gov't and my state attorney generals office. This is embarassing as I believe in paying my own way and have had some very hard financial times. Vericrest has no pride or honor and will mess with you if you give them a chance.

OMG I cannot believe what I am reading, it is "MY SITUATION" a sick joke.

We have had the same problem 20 people and none of them know the answers. It started when vericrest took over for CIT group. They keep telling us that we are a month past due but they keep giving us different dates and when I give them the payment info they state that they see it and accounting must not have posted it to the account and that they will have accounting call us. We never receive any calls from accounting then the harassment starts over again. Then I spoke to a manager and he stated that there must have been an accumulation of late fees (from before 2007) when they were CIT, but he can not tell me that either because and he stated "I don't have that information in front of me right now I will have to achieve it." He stated that he would send us a copy of the payment history from 2004 to 2009, but we keep getting the same payment history which only goes back until 2007 and everything was fine from 2007 to present. We are going to contact the federal trade commission and several other companies that are suppose to help out with these kinds of situations.

I have had the same problems since March 09, when they took over from CIT. I too, have never been late, never, all my payments are automatically deducted from my checking acct. I have talked to over 20 people, since March, each one sayin they will correct the situation. I am just so sick of this. None of them have done a thing, they talk a good game, but no action. I keep getting the calls, I explain to each. I have sent 15 pages of documents, showing my payments, (which they already knew). Today I received a letter saying they were going to foreclose because I was one month behind and I am not.
WHAT CAN I DO? This is just way too serious now and I am not getting any help from
Vericrest. Does anybody know what I can do? I was told by numerous employees of Vericrest that this was a large scale problem when they took over from CIT and it would be corrected, but I say one week is the most it should have took to be corrected. I have names of all I have spoke to, dates, copy of faxes etc. It is a nightmare!

Vericrest is a rip off I have been living in my home now for 15 years and have never had any problems with any other mortgage companies. They are saying the same thing about me I refinance with a new company in September. And Vericrest is still telling me I owe them as a matter of fact they are saying I am two months behind and wont stop calling and harassing me about me behind two months with them. I had to hire a attorney because these people won't leave me alone I am very upset with Veicrest as we all know this can really mess up your credit by them saying your behind on your mortgage. I want them to take all the late fees off my credit report, do whatever it is and release my information to the new mortgage company and give me the deal I signed when I closed on my home on September 8, 2009. Pay my homeowners insurance and taxes and give me the 5.5% intrest rate that I got. Vericrest should be held responsiable to fix everybody credit that they messed up because they are stupid I hope someone step in and help all of us who is going through this nightmare and make them pay us are take more money off our house it doesn't pay to do ugly and they will pay for what they are doing.

Caliber Home Loans Dishonest and rude company

I've had a problem for yeays starting with Cit Group.I was making my 589.75 payments back in the beginning.I then had a huge income loss because some stores were selling to another food chain when we servicing their floors and lost contract to new buyers.I tried to refinance when I got behind on payments. They wouldn't redo my loan back in 2005.Soon after we found out their was a title problem. The double wide was never titled in our names. We were told to get out, so we did.We were out for 3 years. They tried to sell the home several times at courthouse but couldn't.We couldn't figure it out why.Soon after it was given to a collection agency Tritium Card Services. This was in 2008.We arranged payments at 400.00 and it was coming out every month by bank draft for almost a year.Tritium had said we could move back in the home in the beginning.Everything was fine.I was paying payments as arranged with them and then almost a year later, you guessed it Vericrest took over the loan and recalled the account.Did they recall the account to help(NO!).They recalled the account to say the payments we arranged with Tritium weren't enough. They were fine when they had it and I was trying. They want to foreclose on the home.To make matters so crazy, the home is still not in our names and never was from the beginning. So Cit Group wanted to try and make it real estate by destroying the title so we went to court. We had heard they couldn't in the end.Now apparently Vericrest Financial is going to try and take it.However if the home became real estate it was done by fraud becuase it is not nor never was on a permanent foundation. They will try to use every method whether dishonest or honest to get you out.I was trying and I was paying as I had worked out with previous account holder (Tritium).I called Vericrest and just like others stated they were rude from the beginning. What comes around goes around. They might end up in our situation one day themselves. When someone is trying they should at least try and help. What the the bailout for. Wasn't it supposed to save homes. It was taxpayer dollars anyway. This home purchase has been anything but a dream, but a nightmare. Now they want over a 100, 000 grand for an '01 double wide which they don't even have the paper work correct. If anyones wanting to buy a home for 100 grand I have one(Don't blame you I'm not either). You will have a lovely view of hog houses, chicken and turkey houses around a several mile radius. This would have never been this far if CIT had admitted that paper work was messed up and caused us not to be able to refinance because home was properly put in our name.As far as I know, the home is free and clear with family members owning it.That's how screwed up this loan has been. Also bad things happen to good people. In other words had I known I was going to have income loss years back I wouldn't have tried to buy the home.I feel sorry for everyone else who has to lose their home because of the economy. All I can do as of now is pray for a brighter tomorrow regardless of the outcome with my home.

After 10 plus years paying on a Motor Home Vericrest repo'd the unit on 11/6/09 we were not behind on payments, even the repo order stated this. Vericrest sent no notice or anything. We called several times and they put me through to a voice-mail. With in 2 weeks of the repo they sent a late notice. We've sent several letters with no responce. On April 16th 2010 they sent us a notice of sale and what the balance we was suppose to be. I sent them a copy of my repo order plus all the other letters that we sent stating we was going to report the Motor Home stolen. with in 3 weeks I get a call from John saying please don't report the unit stolen, that they made a mistake and one of thier officers wouild send me a draft stating so and what would it take to make this go away. We agreed that they could keep the Motor Home as they had sold it and would pay me the retail cost of the Unit. Jonh said I'd recieve the draft from Virginia Halterman or Shelly Miller. Two months when by and I wrote them another letter asking when I would recieve the draft from A Virginia Halterman or a Shelly Miller, That John promised me. I never recieved a responce until Dec. 13th then it was from a bill collector trying to collect a debt of almost $57, 000.00. Vericrest and thier associates are running some kind of a scam and a theft ring selling property they reposses and demanding more money. A Goverment investigation needs to be done on this Company

Report it stolen if you were not behind when it was repossesed and take them to civil claims court. You have completely valid case.

Caliber Home Loans - Mortage Takeover

I filed bankrupcty last year to keep my house and had been paying faithfully on my mortage. This month, I sent my mortage payment in on August 1st. Today I received my check back to me. Vericrest had taken over my mortage from Citi Group but no one bothered to tell me. I called my attorney, John Orcutt, which was a waste of my time. Vericrest says that my...

Caliber Home Loans - Loan Modification - Scam!!!!

Vericrest Financial is a total FRAUD!!! I submitted a loan modification in March 2009 and they told me it would take 2 weeks to process then 4 weeks to complete. They stated that if you are going to get behind on your mortgage due to hardhsips (which my wife and I have) that you don't have to worry about your payment because the debt will be restructured in...

Caliber Home Loans Poor Repair of Brand New Car that was involved in an accident

Caliber had our new 2008 Altima Coupe from February 14th to May 1, 2008. We've taken the car back once because of new scratches (that Caliber caused), paint over spray, cracked headlight cover, faulty moulding around back glass, trunk lid not operating as it should, paint drip marks, paint on black plastic front grill that should not be there and numerous other things. After picking up our car for the second time, the workmanship is so sloppy that we are now faced with finding a new shop to correct what Caliber is incapable of fixing. They left the carpet loose, door moulding on driver's side is coming off, paint over spray everywhere. They didn't even bother to tape off the black moulding inside where the door hinges are and just sprayed them with paint which is a dead give away that the car has been repainted. Rough edges are all over the car and will, in time start peeling off. This car was brand new and only had a little over 7, 000 miles on it. It has been a nightmare to say the least. Our insurance agent has now said that if we choose to take our car to another shop, Caliber Collision Center will be responsible for the payment of the repairs and putting us into another rental car. Our car had over $10, 000.00 in damage so hopefully the structural repairs they did are sound and we won't have an issue with that later on down the road.
