I ordered a bathroom vent-fan from a company called out of California. Their phone # is [protected]. The fan was much too large when we received it and so we called to begin the return process. We were told that we would have to pay a 25% restock fee to return the item though we never even took it out of the box (even though that information was nowhere on their website. They have since changed their website to address this.) After much hassle we spoke to the manager Gene and he said he would refund our entire payment and we would not be charged a restock fee. He received the item and notified us that it was in brand new condition and that he would be refunding our money. After a couple of weeks with no refund check my husband emailed Gene and he said he had mailed the check two days prior to the email. After another couple of weeks with no check we again called and were informed that the check hadn't gone out before but that this time Gene had actually just sent the check the day before. Again we waited check. I called Gene and he said he would mail the check out the next day. I waited a week and called again and Gene informed me that he was sorry about the delay, it was his fault, he takes responsibility, etc. He said he would mail the check that same day through DHL and would give me a tracking number within an hour. I waited for two days and after no tracking number came my way, I called AGAIN. I was told Gene would call me right back. That was four days ago and I have not heard a single word from Ventdirect, they will not answer my calls and they are not returning my calls. It has been almost two months since we were told we would be receiving a full refund and we still have no money from Ventdirect. I am going to be filing a complaint with the consumer protection department but wanted to get this online immediately
