The fine print is so small stating the fees charged 7 months after activation, that I could not read them w/my 20/20 eye sight. I ended up paying $17 in fees on a $25 gift card. The admin fee was $2.50 per month after activation and therefore, the use of Vanilla Visa is a complete ripoff.

Do not use a Visa Debit card at restaurants. They scam you for 20% and then claim that it states this in terms of agreements disclosure. Unfortunately the terms are not provided with your card. We learned this when we were only allowed to charge $80.00 of the $100.00. This is nothing more the Visa stealing from people who get these cards and then use them at a later date. Visa hopes people won't persue it.

I plan on dropping my Visa card and get another credit card company.

Let's protest this like the Disney, State Farm and other deceptive companies.

Deceptive Charges! I received a $100.00 gift for Mothers Day 2022, and a $5.95 Activation fee was paid total paid for the gift was $ 105. 95. I used the care on 6/17/22 at Cracker Barrel for breakfast the total fee according to the receipt from Cracker Barrel was $60.82, meal was $41.94 and a $15.00 tip for the waiter. The total bill on Cracker Barrels receipt was for $ 60.82. But, the receipt stated that there was only$27.02 left on the credit card which was short by $12.16. , I contacted Visa Gift Card for a receipt for the balance and statement of use of the card. Visa receipt said The gift card was activated on 5/8/22- only only one purchase pending on 6/17/22 at Cracker Barrel was used in the amount of $72.98. I questioned the manager at Cracker Barrel and she stated that VISA GIFT CARDS take extra charges such as monthly fees, handling etc. I contacted Cracker Barrel Cooperate Headquarters concerning who verified that Visa Gift Cards charge only restaurant use extra fees. So Visa Gift Card that cost in total $105.95 also took out and extra $12.16 for service fees. I don't understand how Cracker Barrel receipt stated that only $60.82 Was charged while Visa Gift Cards receipt states $72.98 was charged. So who gets the extra $12.16 that was taken out of my gift? Where is the disclosure of that $12.16 was charged within 45 days of purchase? I have the proof via receipts from Cracker Barrel and Visa Gift Card receipts. Perhaps there is a disclosure somewhere in tiny print on their cards. This to me is deceptive. I will never buy another Visa Gift Card ! Buyer be ware

Most persons who get "stuck" with trying to expend this card will completely agree. The cards are NOT user friendly and because most store clerks do not have a clue how to process them, users will continually be told that the card is "declined." The companies who market these cards are counting on the fact that once purchased, most of the people who were “gifted” with these cards will give up using them out of sheer frustration and that only adds to the profit the company has already made on the sale of the card itself. Additionally, the card issuers get to deduct ridiculous monthly fees from the value of the card when not redeemed over a certain length of time. Better to stay clear of them; they are nothing but a source of confusion and trouble.
