Valspar Paint Valdspar 365 exterior satin

I bought 5 gallons from Lowe's and the paint was like water. Been 4 hours still running and not drying. I painted my sons house with the same but his never was a problem. This has caused me 5 hours of work cleaning up the mess. 80 degrees outside and dry. Painted 2 inches from bottom. Was going to trim the bottom. It got in my grout, what a mess. I've always used 365 and always loved it.

Claimed loss: $150

Valspar Paint Semi-Transparent Stain, Honey Gold

Stained the fence on June 10,2021 it faded so much I have to re-stain my

fence. I spoke to Valspar representative on Oct 10,2022 as I was buying more

stain for my fence. He said they would not guarantee the product because it could be from the sun, rain, ect. The stain has a 4yr. to 6yr. warranty so what does it cover. It does not say it will fade from sun, rain, ect.

Desired outcome: I would like to be compensated for the stain. I used 5 gallons at about $42.00 A gallon. Now I have to buy more stain and redo my fence.

Valspar Paint Valspar paint at Lowes

I have used Valspar paint for years! I just bought the Valspar Signature eggshell for $42.98! It was the worst paint I have ever bought! It was thin and runny and did not cover, at all! I’ve used this paint for many years. It was not thick but very thin! Such a disappointment! I went back and had to buy another gallon sine it took so much to cover. The second gallon seems to be covering better?

Desired outcome: Start making better paint!

Bought baldpate “18 holes” green Matt for my lounge. Aweful thin paint. It splits and clumps when painting and literally comes off after drying just brushing against it. Took three coats to cover magnolia. So after only 8 weeks returned to b&q to get a sample pot to touch up. Omg it’s a totally different colour and my lounge is now ruined. See photos. B&q have denied responsibility and now have no clue what to do and certainly cannot afford to redecorate. Avoid at any cost.

Valspar Paint V500 and V700 Matt

I bought a specially mixed deep orange Matt paint for my hallway. It should've been plenty with loads to spare. Not so. The paint went on, thin and streaky, like I've never experienced before. 3 coats were applied and still the streaks showed through. On the 4th coat, the paint blistered and bubbled all over, for no apparent reason. On trying to smooth out the blisters, by roller or brush, the paint lifted off exposing white walls where the bubbles were. I've tried the Matt and then went and bought the more expensive trade version hoping it would behave differently. Another complete waste of money. Same bubbling and peeling.
So I now have orange walls covered in masses of white spots and bubbles. It's a total mess. My decorator had spent days carefully painting, repainting and cutting in the orange against contrast white walls . If this had been dulux it'd been two coats and done. He used professional cutting in tape on some areas and when he peeled it back the paint lifted right back to the pre Valspar layer so far that that all also now needs filling and sanding. My walls are ruined. They need to be completely sanded back.
I have been so for over a month now too'ing and fro'ing with valspar customer service seeking a solution. I can't get an answer as to why this has happened so I don't know whether to attempt to paint over this awful paint again. It has cost me a fortune already in decorators costs and my walls are still a complete mess and I'm left not knowing what to do next.
The customer service is shocking. Ive waited weeks for a reply and the reply, once Received, is pure lip service and ‘envelope pushing'. The last email, again didn't respond or try and come up with a suggestion/solution/reason but merely asked for my home address so that they could send me vouchers. For what exactly I do not know. More valspar paint. I think not! Who on Earth in the 21st century sends paper vouchers anymore anyway ! I'm still stuck with an expensive decorating bill and likely more costs to pay to remedy the walls and walls that still look absolutely horrendous. What are Valspar going to do about this please ? What do I do with my ruined walls ?

Desired outcome: A reason why this has happened and an a solution that’s not going to cost me more money

Valspar Paint concrete sealer

I want to give them no stars! Four months of calling, sending receipts and photos. Always on hold over 15 mins and promises never met, frankly they lie to you and tell you they sent out a check and it never comes. The worst customer service I have ever experienced, very rude. I have written to their corporate office. Nothing happens. I will never use them again. Lowe's should drop them as a provider.

Valspar Paint Not Just Red Walls but Red Face Also

My husband and I bought a fixer upper. We needed to paint the whole house. Lowe's is close so we decided to do all our shopping there.

We bought Valspar paint in many colors. We painted the kitchen first. We bought the primer that was recommended and they mixed our red. I painted and it didn't dry. I called the Valspar rep and like everyone else I got the run around. I was told it was b/c the paint was red and it's hard to use. Trusting them (dummy me) I painted the rest of the house in numerous colors. Not one dried right.

Lowe's did give me some money for the paint ($38.00 a gallon was what I paid for it) but I am left w/a mess. I am disabled and I needed help the first time. How am I suppose to pay someone to come back and repaint.

I am so upset w/Valspar. Oh, I was suppose to have a rep come to my home and check out the paint. On four different occasions I waited all day for them to come. No one came or called.

I guess I should have looked on this site before painting.

I, too, feel like standing at Lowe's painting counter and telling everyone how I got screwed. I wonder how much money Valspar would lose. Not as much as I have.

Screwed, blued and tattooed twice now when using Valspar paint. Latest event involved what Lowes rep claimed was second down from their best product. Chose Flat Ultra White Paint & Primer. Imagine my shock when it dried and had all the outward trappings of a semi gloss finish, highlighted every flaw in the ceiling drywall and looked like a streaked mess. Given the finish looks like a type of gloss finish I do not trust to coat it with another paint as most gloss finishes in the past that I encountered required primer for good adhesion.

Pure Pathetic Phooey crap product.

Valspar Paint Very slow claim processing and never call back as promised

I made a claim on 6/10/10 for scratches to my table. A technician called on 19/10 but was unable to resolve it and said he would report this back and somebody would contact me. By 2/11 I had heard nothing, so contacted Valspar, who said they would contact me within 5 working days.

On 15/11, I rang them again as I had heard nothing! They promised to call me back "today or tomorrow". I phoned on 18/11 & the upshot was that a technician would collect the table for repair and would be in contact to arrange a date.

I have made 5 calls, the latest today after a msg was left yesterday afternoon promising me that the technician would call that afternoon- surprise, surprise he didn't.

After being told today that someone would call me within 48 hrs, I have all but lost the will to live! I am sick of wasting time & money on the phone and don't think I have ever encountered customer service as poor as that I have been given by Valspar!

Valspar Paint Rip off and misleading

They sold me an expensive warranty guaranteed to protect me and my furniture and to honor repairs for up to five years. WHen I called to report the repair, they sent me a 4 or 5 page application to fill out and got back to me 2 weeks later! Then they said that too much time had passed since it was reported so they would not fix the piece. There are several online complaints that are just like mine. They were also nasty on the phone and I contacted Bob's furniture and insisted they send someone. However, I paid for Guardman service and did not have any assistance. It was totally a ripoff and misleading!

Valspar Paint Terrible company and they don't care

I had my carpets professionally cleaned by a company (name withheld so far) and paid handsomely for additional 'cover' which promised protection against accidental spills which caused stains, amongst other things. I have recently had cause to enter a claim, having used the supplied cleaning kit which was sent to me when initiating the claim.

The cleaning kit failed to remove even the most recent spills, which believe it or not were caused by our toddlers tap water leaking out of her beaker! Having tried and failed to remove the numerous black stains from the carpet with the supplied cleaning agent, I filled out the forms and sent them off.

I have today received a letter from Valspar Industries (UK) Ltd, the parent company of Guardsman Furniture Solutions refusing to honor the agreement stating some obscure rules hidden within the guarantee smallprint: namely as the staining has been ongoing, I should have reported each one as and when it occurred.

My complaint now is that they have rejected any responsibility for the claim, despite the fact they insured against this kind of thing. The carpet treatment is clearly faulty (if tap water is staining a beige carpet black) and are now attempting to wriggle out of their responsibilities. I will not accept this, and an email has been sent to them informing them of my intention to either see this carpet cleaned of the stains, or face further action. I will add further details as and when progress is made.

Valspar Paint Fooling around

My ordeal with Valspar/Guardsman began late January, into Feb. I first purchased my protection plan from Bob's Discount Furniture in 2005 For $159.00. At the time of purchase they stated this plan covers virtually all accidents. Well 2 yrs later I had some people over, they were fooling around and two accidents occurred. One was a burn and the other a tear in my couch. I contacted Guardsman, being honest- I stated I did not see either event occur, but knew it happened that night. The women was quick to say they would cover the burn, however they couldn't cover the tear because it was at the seam and I did not see it happen (saying that it was a "manufacturers issue"). After arguing back and forth, she finally stated that a supervisor would review and return my call, which they did and left a message while I was working. So I called back, was kept on hold for about 10min only to be transferred to a voicemail for "resolutions." Well resolutions didn't return my call after a week so I called again (each time I called I had to wait on hold ~10min). During that week a woman came to fix the burn- she scrapped it off then put some fabric glue over it. She checked out the tear and stated "I fix stuff like that all the time." So she called her company and they refused her request to fix my tear, "saying my request was still being processed." Anyway, so I had to contact Guardsman after a week of not returning my call-only to hear the woman agree with me this time and once again send someone to review my request. Another week goes by, then someone calls saying I have to send photos of damage, I agree and send the photos that weekend, including an email of my ordeal to the company. Well its been a month and I have not heard anything from Valspar/Guardsman regarding my request. I have written this to discourage people from buying a furniture protection plan- it is not worth the hassle or money-esp with this company!

Guardmen UK have been out to my letter 3piece suite twice before for miner stitching and loose frame and repaired satisfactory but have submitted claim for leather lifting /peeling after several calls made by me and being given the run around was told over the phone that my claim had been rejected due to no apparent incident and then it was not a single incident even though being reported as soon as noticed. I am now in the process of going through complaints procedure but I am sure will no get a favourable result. But be assured I will certainly pursue this matter to its conclusion through the courts if required. I advise others with grievance to do the same as many claims are won against this immoral company.

Guardsman is a scam. We purchased a bedroom set from Bob's also (notice the connection, Guardsman and Bob's) downloaed the form and sent in the request a day later. Waited about three weeks only to recieve a letter telling us that our claim was baseless, because they could not help us out. The bedroom set is less than two years old and we purchased the service for incidents like this. I fault myself, as my motto is always "You get what you pay for"! I will never shop at Bob's again. For the piece of mind, great service and just knowing I will be satisfied with my purchase I vowed to take my business elsewhere!

From Len A:
We purchase a loveseat-duo recliner from Bob's discount furniture 8 months ago. Recently we noticed a rip in the leather and sent in the service request to Guardsman, on time with description and pictures of the damage. They dispensed a service technician from Tri County Furniture to see our damaged furniture. He took pictures of the love seat, the damages, sold us "Leather Master" cleaner for the furniture and made a call to his company to reschedule an appointment to repair the rip. Within days we received a rejection of our claim from Guardsman because "the reported damage on your furniture is not covered under the terms of the protection plan". When questioned Guardsman said the damage was from wear and tear!?!
We contacted Bob's discount furniture and they sent out their own technician who clearly recognized the damage was due to MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT and was covered under Bob's one year warranty. Why didn't Guardsman tell us that at their visit and inspection.? An attempt at a total ripoff! Shame on you Guardsman.!

Yes Jennifer Hawkins at guardsman is a total freak she steals money from all service technicans they steal from the public as much as they do the service technicians. If you are a service repair company dont work for them they steal and cheat the techs. Jennifer if you read this ho fawk yourself.

I filed a service request for discoloration on my leather sofa that I bought in Ashley’s furniture in Orlando; it was denied with the excuse that type of damage is not covered. When I asked them to tell me what is covered, they told me among other things that if I had dumped nail polish remover on it, they would have covered it. I can guarantee that if I said it was nail polish remover they would tell me is not covered. Also since I made this claim on that sofa the will not cover another leather related claim. I will not buy this protection or any protection again for that mater. I'll go to the furniture store and if something is not done, I will not longer buy any furniture from Ashley’s furniture again. If they want to do business with scammers like GARDSMAN, I will not do business with them

I have the same problem with Guardsman. I purchased two leather recliners from a furniture store in Huntsville, Alabama and got the warranty on both. I noticed a tear in the leather, went through the steps to have it repaired and was denied twice. I wrote a letter to executive review board and they denied me also. I just went online and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I don't know if it will do any good but I will no longer use Guardsman products or Valspar Paint.

Guardsman's Protection Plan is not a scam. I am a service technician and I service well over 1, 000 claims for them each year. Claims that were initiated by the customer within the terms of the agreement. Yes, there are exclusions. Yes, there is a time frame within which a claim must be initiated, and yes, they do deny claims that do not meet the criteria that is very expicitly stated in plain english in their plan documents. If the retailer from whom you purchased your furniture oversold the plan or did not give you the plan documents which explain the plan, then your problem is with your retailer, not Guardsman. The Guardsman customers whom I service are, overall, extremely pleased with the plan they purchased and the way it is serviced.

Valspar Guardsman appears to be an embezzlement operation for the purpose of taking money from consumers who want to protect the appearance of the furniture they have purchased. The obvious long-wait before anyone shows up to do the work, followed by the excuses as to why the work cannot be done is nothing short of a scam. In calling JohnHPerez Services, who dispatches the Guardsman personnel, it is not surprising that typical responses on the phone are, 'I don't know' and 'I'm not sure.' If disbursements for damages, failure to perform, or a class action suits are existing, please add me to the list! At the very minimum, if justice is not done, they could at least try to hire courteous and professional people.
