Vacation Reservation Center review: Free vacations - too good to be true! 18

I am trying to figure out why we need 4 days/3 nights in Vegas to listen to listen to a 90 minute presentation? How are we supposed to get there exactly I talked with a rep and was told the $148.95 was paying for our hotel rooms, wtf! I thought the rooms were free! If so, then the $ should have gone to round trip tkts, and vrc got the rest don't ya think? Then, our 2nd so called trip only gives us only a few locations when they many more. Give us free car rentals or airline coupons! The whole thing is messed up. I will watch it virtually if that's the case.

They have called me several times saying that I booked a vacation package in 2014, which has since expired, but they are offering a $500 voucher and it'd only cost 229 for a vacation should I still want to take one...I keep telling them that I don't remember booking any vacation at anytime I mean c'mon I'm agoraphobic I hate traveling -dread "new" places and being much more than an hour from home. I'd never, ever book some vacation package 'cent maybe to Ireland the land of my ancestors, and all these destinations were located to the left of the Atlantic not the right. So I can't figure out their legal ability to lie so blatantly. I say to the guy (it's never been a woman) that it's not POSSIBLE that I booked a vacation, to which they reply in a shoulder-shrugging, placating tone that I DID. Infuriating, but it's kinda fun messing with their heads.

Hi, has anyone had any luck with booking the trip? I have paid 420 dollars and sent 69 booking fee and now they are asking for another 50 dollars per couple to get access to site to book trip!

@ MichelleHubbartt or @ Patti W. Were either one of you able to finally book and travel on your trip? If so how much more did you have to pay and did they honor your purchased vacation. I purchase a package for 2 for @395 with airfare and just completed the final step. I don't want to lose the money I have already provided but don't want to give them any more and don't take the vacation. I purchase a 8 night cruise with airfare. Any feedback

I still have not yet gotten my vacation and I purchased through Crowd Savings. The voucher is still for sale on Crowd Savings. It has been nothing but a hassle. For me the 2 $49 vouchers that I bought will cost me another $1600 to fly to an stay in Salt Lake City, UT for 6 days. Yuck! I knew it was way too good to be true.

Well at least there wasn't 15 of you who purchased a "vacation" for 450.00 per couple only to jump through another hoop sent to the travel center, then their fees of 69.00 each to be sent to the fun .time vacation site where they don't even offer the trip we bought! Now they want another 50 bucks each couple to book...looking to see if anyone has actually got to go on one of these vacations?

Here is the 800 number - this company goes by many different names - Fun Time Vacation, Discount Hotel Reservations, Vacation Reservation Center - but this is their 800 # - for anyone needing to get ahold of them. We're going through pretty much the very same thing. Sat thru a discount vacation package presentation, were promised 2 FREE roundtrip airfares anywhere in the continental US, as a bonus 3 days 2 nights in any nice 3+ star hotel, FREE - just have to pay taxes. After signing up for the freebies, got an email saying pay $123.00 for our portion of taxes & fees. Paid that, got another email to fill out our form, which took us to Vacation Reservation Center, who said $50.00 deposit (applied to our discount vacation) - wait - DISCOUNT vacation? It was supposed to be FREE!. When I emailed them back asking what the $123.00 was for, this is their exact reply: "The activation covered the codes, and the information necessary in order to assign you to a booking company who would be able to book your vacation for you. With each vacation, you are provided one quote which is what the activation also took care of." - so $123.00 just to get a website address? then we're told it costs $50 - $75 per NIGHT for the HOTEL, AND we get a 'discount' on airfare... so we will have to basically pay for our whole "FREE" vacation. Save yourselves the trouble - we're going to be out quite a lot of money - but by golly, we're going if we've already paid $173.00! Probably get the same deal via Expedia.com or Hotwire, but we are going anyway!

I purchase a voucher from halfoffdepot for $49 for a 3day/2night hotel stay anywhere in the US. We did the reservation with our credit card, it was in September it said that they will contact us in 3 days, we still waiting and is end of October and now I was thinking that this maybe is a scam because nobody call us or it is not a way to communicate with the company. No phone number, no email address, no way to complain to anybody. I already read all the reviews and I realize that is a SCAM 100%. Unfair for the people that buy that and unfair for the companies that are involved in selling that packages. If anybody knows a phone number or email address to file a complaint please let me know.

I purchased a voucher from Moolala for $49 for a 3day/2night hotel stay anywhere in the US. The fine print did say that I'd be responsible for the hotel tax of $20-$75 per night. I finally (after 5 days) got the quotes from ben@ecustcare.com, and the reservations are $300+! Total scam...

THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF! THEY HAVE GOTTEN MY MONEY I WENT FOR MY VACATION IN ORLANDO AS PROMISED NOW I JUST WANT MY CRUISE. THEY PROMISED ME A CRUISE TO GO AND LISTEN TO THE SALES PRESENTATION. I HAVE CALLED AND CALLED AND BEEN TOLD TIME AND TIME AGAIN THAT IT IS IN THE MAIL. EITHER WAY I HAVE NOT RECEIVED IT AND I HAVE JUST RECENTLY REPORTED THEM TO THE BBB.

This must be anothar Jonathan Owens trick of North San Diego! I am absolutely sure he runs Candian Pharmacy Scam. I didn't notice that he also run this. He often rang my number with "Congratulations! You have won free holidays in bahamas!" I can trace him to this;

It seems to me from reading these complaints that the only people complaining are the people who didn't buy the vacation. I'm sure they probably sold hundreds of those vacations, and i don't see anyone listed who complained about buying the vacation and being scammed. I didn't buy from this company but have gone on vacations thru similar time share companies. Doing the 90 min. presentation was a little trying, but when it was all said and done, I know I was able to save hundreds of dollars by not having to pay hotel cost and that alone allowed us to do more things than we would normally have been able to afford to do. I would say if you didn't buy it, why bother to complain?

I found out this company is A SCAM.I cancelled they charged my credit card. Now they say I called back and renewed my package. Even tried to charge me five dollars for the call. I am fighting them through my credit card but I don't know if i will win.

I actually accepted this same exact vacation. My husband, myself and my 2 kids went to the Bahamas and Orlando over the winter. I received $99 back after touring the timeshare in the Bahamas (which I didn't buy) and both the Bahamas and Orlando were wonderful! It was a pain going through the timeshare tours, however for $198 to go to the Bahamas for 4 night and Orlando for 3 nights you can't beat it! Plus you get your money refunded!

Seems like something is not right with this company... Vacation Reservation Center didn't like the idea of me talking with my husband first and pushed that they were only offering it to 22 people and 17 have already been sold... I received several phone calls from the same [protected] number within minutes after each other. This in itself was suspicious. After finally answering I patiently listened to a female offer me the same great deals as the ones mentioned above. After she finished with her pitch (I always allow them to finish because I do realize for most people it is a job) I respectfully declined the offer and was asked to be put on their "do not call" list. The female on the other end became infuriated with me for this and suggested I not go to anymore web-sites and put in my information, after this she hung up in my ear. I don't know whether or not this was a legit call but I did call the number back and it just rang with no answer. I would be more inclined to believe that it was a hoax because of the calls within minutes of each other and the unprofessionalism of the customer service female. I don't suggest anyone accept any offer from the number [protected], you might be sorry.
