Vacation Depot The Real Truth About This Resale Company!!!! You have to read

Let me start by just saying that I am an agent that is currently working in the timeshare industry. I first began working in this industry in December of 2008, I have worked with multiple companies and have been exposed to the real horror and scam companies that are out there. I really think that it is funny how people that are working at these companies post blogs like the one on this website that rebuttals all of the TRUE BAD REMARKS that are made to this company. They CLAIM that they dont get paid until it is sold... please excuse my french but that is some serious bull. If thats the case why dont you ask for proof of real estate license for all of the reps that work there, proof of the company being licensed as a brokerage firm. Because if they dont have these two vital pieces of information then they would never be legaly allowed to collect a dime after that property is sold (IF IT EVER SELLS). They say that they make a commision everytime they run someone through financing. Again thats a lie, if the banks are begging for bail outs, why in the world would they pay someone a commision to have them lend out more money to people who in this economy would never pay it back. They claim they have these amaising promotional events which do not exsist, yes... yes... they are telling you that this outrageous fee that your paying is to reserve your week in their imaginary promotional events. But where is the proof may I ask? Yes you are paying thousands of dollars for a listing on a website which takes two minutes to post up on the internet. Quite honestly, you can do that yourself. Never though about that right? Well let me tell you what really happens on the inside... you know that sky high fee you pay? Well the company usually take anywhere from 50 to 60% of that and puts it in their pocket and they pay the reps that call you 40 to 50% of your hard earned money payed for that fee. Yes yes, that is the truth. Mabe you should go on craigslist.org and type in the word timeshares under sales jobs in the orlando area. See exactly how much money these people are making off of you. You will be very suprised. Now needless to say that this company that you are dealing with now is doing the same thing. These scam companies probaly have 30 or more people working for them scamming people out of thousands of dollars. Offices like this are bringing in up to fifty thousand dollars a week. How do I know? because I unfortunatly used to work for one, I was told and became to believe that these properties would sell and would rent. Howver, after the multiple calls of unhappy clients I came to realize that it was all a scam. Now I am not saying all comapnies are scam artists in this business however, alot of them are. I know business owners who do fullfill services to their clients and do rent the properties. But I know as a fact this company is scamming hundreds if not thousands of people out of their hard earned money. And then they have the utmost nerve to post FAKE blogs about how great their company is. Well its all lies and take this blog very seriously. I am a disgruntled person having to have had to work in an industry like this. I have been therE, i have seen the work of these scam artists and I have the proof. If you need help getting out of any situation with a scam company please reply to the blog and I will email you back. Keep your self from falling into this trap. And dont let the Better Business Bureau Bull trap you in. Just about any company these days can apply as a credited business, but it doesnt mean that they are ligit. So all you old timers that trust the bbb, well... you better think again because the bbb is a mafia themselves and they just simple have the company pay a couple grand to put the complaints on the hush. Trust me when I tell you! this is true, if you choose to disregard this blog, you will end up loosing evry bit of money that you have invested in this scam comapny Vacation Depot/United Resorts Marketing.

Thank You

I really appreciate all the information. I was contacted today by a rep of speciality property group. And as all other stories, they truly sounded professional. I of course started checking and found that this organization appears to be linked to other companies that have the same type of complaints. I will not be signing with them for any type of services. Again, thanks to all that have provided their comments.

I want to hear more. I am dubious but it sounds like a real deal... I do not want to sell my time share as I am just getting into using them. I wouldnt mind selling, y surplus weeks for rent. Yes I could post it on the internet but do you think corporate entities are checking craigs list? Orland is 1 of the convention megas of the country and close to disney etc.. thats why I bought. There must be marketing companies that are legit in this field of making $ on selling unused weeks etc. I would like to hear more because i have more than enough weeks than I can use!

Vacation Depot I got robbed

I was contacted by Jasmine Kohl. She said she had a buyer for our Orlando Grand Vista timeshare. I agreed to list with her having spoken with her manager Mr. John Hamilton and also Mr. Thomas in the legal department. I added a clause to the contract saying that if the property was not sold within 90 days as they specified I would receive the funds back. They agreed this and I had the contract notarised. It is now April 2009 and neither property is sold despite multiple statements that they have a buyer. I am now in contact with lawyers to try and get my funds back. I have left messages without reply. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Vacation Depot Liars Liars Liars

These guy are crooks. They contacted me several months ago, I don't know how they got my number. The person "My Agent" told me that i filled out something on the internet. He was very persuasive, told me that they sell timeshares face to face, like the way i bought it. I told him i was unsure and he sent me some information about his company to my email. he kept calling and being pushy. I really needed the money so I finally did it.
After that i spoke to him a couple of times and all i got was excuses. Then he stopped taking my calls and now i have to talk to this really rude customer services ladies. I called my credit card company and tried to get my money back but because i signed a contract that i could barely read (the writing is so small) I could not get my money back.

These people are liars and they will take your money like they stole mine. Don't even listen to what they tell you. I couldn't even get my money back after six months like he promised me.

Vacation Depot Timeshare Rental

I was contacted by Vacation Depot. The woman explained how easy it was to rent my timeshare weeks at the Marrio Grande Vista Resort in Florida. When I showed interest she put her supervisor, John Hamilton, on the phone. After speaking with John I paid the one time fee of $848.00. The day after I tried to reach him with no luck. After several messages I realized that I was speaking with a message center. They give out no information about the company. They are hired only to take messages. Right now I am working with American Express to dispute the charges so that I can get my money back. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Beware of their scam.

I was contacted by [protected] from Vacation Depot. They gave me the same story as they told that they had a pre-approved buyer for my timeshare. When I asked for a contract with the purchaser's signature and agreement to purchase, they gave me the name of a person and said he would call me. When the person called me, he gave me a different name and quickly corrected it when I said I must not be the same person.

They called me back and when I told him the person gave me a different name, he became angry and said too bad - already charged your credit card. He had previously told me he would not charge the card until I was satisfied as to the identity of the purchaser.

I absolutely believe these people are NOT LEGIT - it's another SCAM - BEWARE!

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY AND THEIR NEW NAME "SKY BLUE SOLUTIONS". This company has had to change their name 3 times in the past 2 years because of all the complaints that potential buyers could look up online.

A man by the name of "Steven Douglas" called my parents tonight Feb 11, 2010, with the entire script that everyone else posted about...the convention with cooperations willing to pay $9K over the purchase price, etc etc.

So glad we researched this company before we gave them the upfront fee, which has since increased to $950.

WATCH OUT FOR ANY COMPANY OFFERING TO SELL YOU TIME SHARE AT A DEAL THAT SEAMS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE

Similar experience when contacted by Sara Mendes at Vacation Depot. She offered to promote the Marriott unit at Ocean Pointe for rent or sale at ridiculously high prices. She made is sound as if they had been engaged to purchase the units on behalf of a buyer that specializes in conventions. She then pushed to get an $848 fee for "title work". I offered to pay the fees upon closing with a bonus if she was able to get hte unit sold in 60-90 days as advertised. I asked her to send me a non contingent sales contract and I will pay the fee. Instead I received a marketing contract with a bunch of disclaimers.

My husband and I had exactly the same experience... A call came to our home one evening from Vacation Depot asking whether we'd like to rent or sell our Grande Vista Timeshare in Florida. We said, sure, let's hear. We were told it was worth a minimum of $22, 000 to a max of $26, 000. My husband then asked to speak with someone "higher" up for details. The agent told us to go to the website and then call back. We did go to the website and did call back and left a message... No one ever returned our calls. We never paid money and it all sounded too good to be true. It is curious how they got our number, in fact, because we did advise Marriott to see about selling our property for us since we bought a new one just recently. Pretty scary stuff.

Vacation Depot check your complaints

I just wanted to say I actually researched this company before going through with selling my resort with them. The complaint I just read is one person. People have complaints everywhere all day, Wal mart Mcdonalds, airlines. Do you stop using any of those NO. This guy may have had a bad experience but thats one out of who knows how many. I am very careful and pretty much took a gamble with paying up front, I mean after thinking about it, was I going to let 1000.00 stand in the way of putting a 35, 000 check in my pocket. Well after waiting about a month I got offers and accepted my top offer, I received my check today(5 days later) and am very very happy. I had to do no work and now I am up 34, 000. That was the best 1000 I have ever spent and would do it again if I had the chance, but I won't because I will never be getting another time share.

This person is right about judging a company based on the experience of just one person. However, I would never pay someone an up-front fee to see my time share. I got taken for $500 to list mine for rent and never got a single inquiry. This was a beach front property in Maui!

There is a way to get out of a time share without giving it away. Check out the time share user group called "TUG". Just google TUG and check out their helpful info. Bottom line, you might get 10% to 30% of what you paid for it. Don't pay anyone an upfront fee to sell anything! They should always work on a commission.

Vacation Depot Time Share Sales

We were contacted by telephone with an offer to sell our time share units. They quoted a very attractive price for the units with a charge to my card for marketing services. They took my card details to enter onto the contract, which was then mailed to me. My card was immediately billed by United Resort Marketers before I had even received the contract. When I investigated United, the internet was full of complaints that they are a scam. I checked with my resort company and they advised that companies that required an up-front marketing service fee were very suspect. They also confirmed that the price proposed by Vacation Depot was 30% higher than what the units were currently being sold for by my resort company. I sent a mail back to Vacation Depot notifying them that we would not be signing the contract and requesting a reversal of the card charge. They called me back and were very upset with me and were very rude when I flatly refused to reconsider. My card has not been refunded and I have notified my bank to do a charge-back.

I was contacted via phone they quoted me a price to rent my property 3000 to 3700 I was in shock this is 35% higher than anyone else was quoting! When they asked for my credit card I was nervous but using the credit card for payment is the safest way, you can track and stop fraud charges! Anyways I have rented my property 4 times and only had to pay 848 one time thats crazy ive made 10k profit after maintanence fees and can sell anytime i want at no further cost! Research better people and you will see that these people are great.

I went with Vacation Depot for the sale of my marriot time share. I was charged after my contract was sent to them, I also had almost immediate offers (2 weeks) after reviewing and accepting an offer in 3 weeks after sending in my contract I had sold my share and had a certified check for almost the top asking price. I am very pleased to have gotten the call from them and anyone who thinks thinks is a scam needs to do more research because I am alot better off now with a 31, 900 check in my pocket.
