Vacaciones Wide Plus Stay away from this scam

Stay away from Vacaciones Wide Plus which is a holiday club operating in Mallorca on behalf of Huntingdon Holiday Services. Vacaciones Wide Plus have touts that stop you in the street with scratch cards, give you a fake "winning" ticket that says you win a "free luxury holiday". You win nothing but gain a debt with three zeros.

Don't sign anything right away, don't trust companies that hire touts who pressure you into giving out your bank card info.

Vacaciones Wide Plus Terrible staff

I have the unfortunate experience of working for this company for a short period of time and they treat their staff just as terribly as their customers. If it is at all helpful to get an inside look into this company from an x staff members point of view please email me as i would be definitely interested. They Train their staff to see people (in the words of my manager) "as £ signs and if we can get their money then who cares about their feelings. My wife likes pretty things and i like the money so gives a s**t about them". That was said to me by Mr Hilton. One of the managers. Wide opened mouth you awkwardly smile although in the back of my mind i was surely regretting my decision to ever work for this company. The presentations were advertised as 80 minutes but were in actual fact 4 hours long, and there are several catches to the "amazing deals" they offer you. They raise the price from £6000 in January and to an overwhelming £10,000 once july arrives. You have to sit there and ask these people for £10,000 of their money which believe me they will never see again and when they say no they get shuffled out of the door like rubbish and fingers put up behind their backs by the managers and some of the staff. I left after a long and dragging 3 weeks as i could not cope with the way i was supposed to lie to people, sit there and smile, and then try and hide my shame after. Its just as bad as timeshare, anyone who is approached by this company i would suggest to run a mile. They are despicable.

We fell for it and although the last 6 years we have had some lovely holidays we are in the process of trying to get our loyalty bonus! But I am not holding out much hope for the cheque! There email address does not seem to work and I have no phone number. The contract states in year six you can get a partial refund but we are still waiting!

Vacaciones Wide Plus Fraud business practices!

Vwp conned us on 13th april 07 we paid £950 deposit thinking we were getting a good deal with £7500 to pay when we got home and emailed them dozen of times we knew we had been conned all they offered us was lies. We sent a cancel letter recorded to them stating this response was you cant cancel email us and we can come to a compromise no waqy so we emailed again with all the lies they told us 5 days later we got cancel letter from them offering £700 refund within 21 days of them receiving our cancel letter 21 days came we emailed again 2 days later we got the cheque for £700. They still conned us out of £250. If your in mallorca or anywhere abroad and stopped by touts in the street with scratch cards and the wife or girlfriend wins a free holiday guys win wine kids win free t shirts then you know its a conn if you do go for it and get your free taxi to a 80 min presentation which last about 4 hours DON'T SIGN OR HAND OVER ANY CREDIT DEBIT CARDS there is no cooling off period any holiday club that are genuine would let you take all the info away and think about it with VWP. No way you have to sign while your at presentation. What they offered i could do myself on the internet.

I wish I'd read this before I went to Palmanova on 10.06.08. I can't believe I fell for the scam of winning a holiday but I did. The 80 minute "presentation" lasted 3 hours but only because I eventually said I was bored with it and my answer was NO. The price quoted to me was £2950 for life membership which could then be passed on to my kids! The manager - a Mr Robinson was particularly vile - Every so often a man would put his head into the room and announce another (mug) person had joined up and everyone had to clap, it was sickening. I didn't even get my promised trip into Palma as I was hustled off like something nasty smelling as soon as I said no. Please please make this info more accessible to those people who are intending to visit the Balearics. I would like also love to know how they(VWP) got an advert in the BA and Easyjet inflight magazines though. If their practices were made known to the airlines I'm sure they would be withdrawn.

This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

Stay WELL clear of Vacaciones Wide Plus, and ALL holiday clubs for that matter. VWP are a holiday club operating in Mallorca on behalf of Huntingdon Holiday Services (a company that has a bank account with all our money but doesn't exist in a way that anyone can contact them!) and Gold Crown Resorts, a presumably legitimate holiday club. VWP have tout...
