Usenet.nl I was trying to download a template and was offered a free trial if I used their service.

I agreed to a free trial and used my PayPal account. After multiple attempts, I was never able to get it downloaded. I tried during the trial period to contact them for support and was NEVER able to reach them by phone, email or their contact form. I decided to cancel and again was unable to contact them. No matter what time of day or night I tried to call them I got a message that I was not calling during their business hours. I checked PayPal and their charge showed as paid so I went to their resolution center and filed a complaint. Within a day or so I received a response through PayPal that it was past the trial and too late to cancel. I am now filing a complaint with the credit card company connected to my PayPal account and let PayPal know that there has been no resolution. The company is dealing unethically, illegally and fraudulently. They are committing theft with every account. This is sooo wrong on many levels. Everyone in the company should be charged and placed in prison for theft. This type of business should never be allowed.

Usenet.nl fraud, debt collection scam, dmca fraud, pdf download scams, cheating customers

Usenet.nl are a fraud. They offer 14 day free trials and when you cancel, they then try and charge you for a year by Paypal.

If you cancel your Paypal recurring subscription, they then refer to debt collections, and you get multiple letters demanding 100+ euros in fees.

This happened to me when I signed up for a free trial as an author to investigate 100 PDF adverts touting my book for free download as PDF. When I took the free trial, only after providing Paypal payment details, was I told the book was not there. I did not therefore download or use anything as there was nothing there under the name of my book.

Their debt collections are obnoxious and claimed I had used their services, and wanted full payment for one years subscriptions, plus fees, threatening legal action if not paid.

Usenet.nl carried on hosting fake PDF download links, and people are directed there by Friendly Duck Affiliate referral pages, created by Russian scammers.

One affiliate for Usenet.Nl created 155 websites advertising my book, sometimes using reverse proxy or black hosting. I spent months tidying up the web and then I was harassed by their debt collections Tech Inkasso GmbH in Germany who are basically frauds (Google them to see how many Usenet.nl fabricated debts they are chasing).

DO NOT USE USENET.NL

Usenet.nl subscription that I had cancelled but they keep billing me

This has been going on since Feb 2017 - was taking an online class and thought I needed something they offered for a free trial. There was nothing I could use so I cancelled it. They had tried to get my MasterCard payment and my Card company called regarding possible fraud and I told them not to pay it. Since then I have gotten ridiculous amounts of email and mail stating I was sent to collection. I paid it from Paypal just to get them off my back, but the threats keep on coming. This has caused me great anxiety and stress. I am still battling with them. I am not going to pay them anymore money. Will this hurt my credit? Are they true criminals? I am at my wits end. This is and has been a nightmare.

Have you checked that you just have one account registered under email address. Reason I ask is I only signed up once but even though I cancelled within trial period for some reason I have two accounts listed under one email address and was being charged for a second account I was unaware I had.

Usenet.nl unethical behaviour

I joined usenet for a free trail of 14 days on 22nd Jan 2017. They charged a dollar for the free trail which I declined. When I used it couple of times my computer was hacked by virus and I had to reach Norton to clear it. I was not very happy with the services and wanted to cancel the account. I did so before the end of the trail period. I completed the online form and the end they asked me to call a Europe number. Which I didn't as it was something I have never heard a company would do. In the mean time the company locked the account on Feb 6th saying I didn't pay. After a month I got a mail to pay 12EUR for the month service. Which I ignored as they locked my account. Then I received a physical mail asking to pay the due. I reached the customer service and explained the situation. They transferred the case to a collection agent and they keep sending emails and physical mails. They are now demanding me to pay 55EUR. I wanted to end this drama and agreed to pay 12EUR. They wouldn't agree to that and also now telling me that the account is not cancelled and there are recurring charges, which I have to deal separately with Usenet. This is adding a lot of pressure on me personally and going on for month.

Usenet.nl misleading subscription plans

As you can see from the screenshots of the email correspondences, I made myself clear that I do not wish to subscribe and that I request cancellation so that I would not be charged after my Free Trial period. (05/06/2017)

Yes, I got a confirmation mail after a day.(05/08/2017) However, I found out that on "My Subscription" Tab, there was a False subscription that I NEVER mentioned. It seemed like the membership was canceled during the 14days of Free Trial period but somehow I was automatically subscribed to a new plan that is called "Compact" right after the Free Trial. I requested for my account to be deleted...
Usenet.l is putting me in a spot where I have to pay when the Free Trial ends for a service that I cancelled! This is downright scam.

So I called then and failed to reach them about 30 times because of "heavy volume". I messaged them again to make myself perfectly clear that I requested cancellation of free trial and to delete all my future plans and my data immediately. (05/08/2017)I haven't been messaged back.

Usenet.nl should delete all my future plans(They are fake! I never requested them!) and my account. I am constantly telling them that I didn't use their service and that I will not use them in the future.

I've seen your complaint before. You cancelled. Nothing will happen. Make sure it says "subscription cancelled" somewhere on the page. Nothing bad happened to the other person with the same issue.

I have asked them to cancel my subscription and I have also received a mail confirming this. But when I look at my account there, there is a line where it states that my subscription is canceled but underneath it there is this line: "Message: I want to withdraw my cancellation and subscribe to plan Relax (membership: 12 months, price: 99, 96€) from 06 / 20 / 2017." Does it mean that all of a sudden I will have a new subscription (this one for a year) that I never even asked for? Or will it only "start" if I click on the "withdraw termination and continue fee-based subscription"-button? And last, should I ask them to delete my account too to be absolutely sure nothing will happen? (I have already canceled them from my paypal).

This whole thing has caused my anxiety to act up and I just need to be absolutely sure for it to calm down again.

Usenet.nl auto renewal to extort $

Please visit this web site and see for yourself. These people need to be stopped and we need help. Help us. Tell us what we can do? These people are using the purchase agreement to extort money from honest people that are simply interested in using their service. Most companies allow folks to cancel their subscription at any time. This company is using it to bill people even after they know they want to cancel. Then they threaten and extort money. Please help stop this abuse.

Usenet.nl this company is a fraud service

I do not remember how i registered with them. Probably a 15 days free test, and after that, they have charged me 2 times in 2 years, and i did not pay attention thinking it was a service somebody from my company asked me to buy. But nobody did. In any case, i contacted them and tehy told me i shoul go to the police and when the police contact them, they can help. otherwise i should continue paying the service. They have no option to cancel the service in their web. Is a fraud.

Usenet.nl payment for providing unrequited software was fraudulently charged against my credit card

Lured by Usenet.nl deceiving information provided on their website, I ordered for software that was supposed to help me in downloading graphic software like Photoshop and Corel draw for free. They asked me to put up my Credit Card details on their website. Information was given on the website that I would use the software for 14 days (Trial Period) and in case I did not like it, I would be able to cancel my order and they would not charge for it.
When I saw that I was provided with a bogus and undesired software that did not server my purpose at all, I decided to uninstall the software from the drive and informed Standard Chartered Bank to stop payment for the said software. I did so because I was seriously offended with the exhibition of such fraudulent activity of Usenet.nl. I did not inform Usenet.nl directly, because I thought that the Credit Card issuing bank would surly contact Usenet.nl, giving them information about the cancellation of the order which was made from my end. But now, Standard Chartered Bank says that payment had already been transferred to Usenet.nl. this is illegal and contempt of the law of offer displayed on Usenet.nl website at the time I placed my order.
I want Usenet.nl to immediately return the amount ($99) back to Standard chartered Bank against transaction No [protected] dared 19-10-16.

When did you inform your bank? Did you wait until the 14 days were over before you informed them? Also that form of cancellation never works with them. You have to call and get a cancellation confirmation from usenet.nl in order to actually terminate their service.

Usenet.nl scam

I signed up for a free trial after 14 days and after a year they sent me a email stating I own them...

Below is the email they sent me
Please note: if you decide to pay via paypal we have to charge handling fees in the amount of 15, 00 eur. The total claim would be then 179, 93 eur.

If you should however fail to meet the above mentioned deadline we are instructed to initiate further steps without any further reminder.
Yours faithfully

R. Weidmann

I cant be paying for services I never used before.

Usenet.nl fraudulent website

Be careful to use Usenet.nl. It is scam. Why? I will tell you my experience about this fraudulent website. At first, I'm sorry about my English because I'm not English native speaker. I never have intention to use this website before but I met it by chance because I was looking for buying some e-books. Then, I found the one that I wanted. So, I selected that e-book and it brought me to this damn website, Usenet.nl. I subscribed and added the Paypal account to complete process with the hope that I could get the book I longed for. But it was not what I thought. It gave me an account and also a program which I then realized I was cheated. So, I went to that account to find the way to cancel the membership. I read the “details of termination” which is written in the final page that the cancellation must be done by phone. It said like this “We are pleased to answer all your questions and finish the cancellation by phone” So, I made a phone call from oversea to those provided numbers. Guess what? Those numbers were not available and couldn't even be reached. I was so disappointed because I spent a lot of money to make an international call but it doesn't work and I realized I lost too much money. One day, I got an e-mail informed me that my Paypal account was deducted 99 USD. I was shocked because I was charged unwillingly. (Good business shouldn't do something like this) So, I filed a dispute to Paypal and got to wait 2 days for an answer. The result was Paypal cannot help anything because Paypal received the same information as I've got from Usenet.nl that the cancellation wasn't done before due. Usenet.nl claims that the cancellation can be done by sending a request via application form but I've never seen it on “details of termination”. Besides, it uses this point rejecting a refund. I e-mailed to Usenet.nl team several times and explained all the problems that I wasn't my fault but It was Usenet.nl's mistake that didn't provide clear information to customers Yet. it seems Usenet.nl doesn't care. What's more, it never mentioned about telephone problem. Not even say sorry. Never ever. So, I warn all of you right here, who are reading this message, do not use Usenet.nl. It is the scam because it gives you delusive service. For my case, It doesn't sell e-books but it is the Usenet provider which I've never wanted to use it. What's more, it gives you the misleading information about membership cancellation. They said it can be either 2 ways, sending request via application form or make a phone call. I believe most people choose the choice no.2 because it was written on the page. Besides, most of them don't read the TOC since it isn't common language and is not easy to understand. This is the weakest point and Usenet.nl knows this very well and tricks the people this way. Just compare to reliable service like Apple Music. It also has the trial period. When it ends, the customer is the person who decide to go on with the products themselves. If they are satisfied, they will pay it unconditionally. No charging automatically like this damn Usenet.nl If Usenet.nl is good enough, why doesn't it do the same? It's definitely the fraud by creating people with the stupid TOC which is kind of pitfall. One more thing, for those who are the victim like me or who are using Usenet.nl, you've got one year period to cancel your membership before it dues. It's better to send the e-mail via online application form and you'll will have separate e-mail confirms that your account will not auto-renew Otherwise, this fraudulent website will charge you automatically with the maximum rate. Did it write on TOC? I don't know. Didn't I warn you? Yes.

Usenet.nl didn't receive any username or password, and now they're charging me and I can't end my subscription!

Well, I registered to the site today, without recieving any username or password, I gave out my VISA, and they've already charged me although I specifically wanted free trial. Now I cannot call and end my subscription or send messages because my username and password were never sent, and I tried several times to retrieve it. I would like to end my subscription if they could do that it would be superb! I really need to end this subscription, please do that for me Usenet.nl.

You can order a new one. Or you can call your bank and tell them to block them from accessing your card. I would still reccomend continuing to call. If they do not recieve their money they will send you to collections. I just want to warn you about that. Don't give up, but in the end it is your decision. I would also recommend joining the stop usenet group on facebook.

I know this won't make you feel better, but this is not the first time I've seen your situation regarding this company. And I'm not going to sugar coat it, they were suddenly able to retrieve the user and password after their trial was up and were forced to pay. And they will charge you midnight their time once the trial is up. They don't care if you weren't able to access the trial, all they want is money. I hope you used paypal. You can get a refund through paypal or you can let them have the $100 and treat it as a learning experience. If you get a refund through paypal they will start sending you bills in the mail for an unpaid amount and will eventually send you to collections. Next thing you know you're getting threatening letters from debt collectors. BUT, you can ignore them, no one has ever been taken to court by these fools. It's a scare tactic. But, you also do this at your own risk. My advice would be to keep hounding them. Keep callung. You'll get through eventually. Send emails. Threaten your own legal action if they do not comply. Don't give up.

Usenet.nl stealing money

I'm trying to reach usenet.nl from a week just to end up my subscription! Its very clear that they want to steel money by not answering the phone calls, and not replying the massages. There is no bottom for ending the subscription! which is very weird, where in all other website you can end up your subscription within few seconds.

I advise everybody not to register in their website. They are spotters, and I will complain in court if they take money for the next month also.

By the way with all this disadvantages imagine that even the file I want to download it did not open!
What a bad website

Usenet.nl free trial prior to subscription

I was looking for the book 'Rodney F. Moag, Malayalam, A University course and Reference Grammar', that is at present not available for purchase, but was offered as downloadable version by usenet.nl.
Though I had a doubt that the book might be available this way, I registered for a 2 weeks free trial offer on December 19th that was to be followed up by a 12-months subscription if I don't cancel within these 2 weeks.

After registration I was informed that I am not eligible for a free trial period.
I therefore was convinced that an agreement between me and usenet has not been established.

Having come to the conclusion, that I have no use for the offered service, the story was finished for me and I did not login to their website also.

I was therefore caught by surprise that I got an invoice from them on 03/01/17 and a transaction report from PayPal about a payment of 99 US $ I had never authorized a few minutes later.
I immediately objected the payment in writing and also called up PayPal as well as Usenet.
While PayPal confirmed that my payment agreement has been cancelled for future payments and Usenet also confirmed, that there will be no renewal of the claimed subscription, Usenet is not ready to refund the amount.

What else is this than fraud?
I don't need the Usenet.nl service.
I don't want the Usenet.nl service.
I have not indicated in any way after the initial registration for a free trial that Usenet.nl has not conceded that I am despite of that interested in a subscription.
I did not log into the Usenet.nl website also.

If Usenet.nl had been assuming I am interested into the subscription despite the denial of a 2-weeks-free-trial period, the bill should have been issued immediately.

What is the justification for demanding 99 US $ for a 12-months-service that will even not be used for 1 second?
What is the justification of refusing to accept that the agreement read into the registration is null and void after the denial of a 2-weeks-free-trial period?

Usenet.nl fraud of subscription, lack of response from customer team

09/12/2016
customer id 7457551
invoice number 9620857

I have only registered for this service's trial because I wanted to download some violin pieces. After I found out that the amount of content on the site is useless then I have decided to cancel the service. During the trial, I have called the customer service hotline multiple times and no one picked up. I desperately went to PayPal and cancelled the payment.

After a while, there is a letter sent to me about me not paying the usenet.nl for using their service. I have only applied for the trial but I didn't sign any contract. There is a letter from TESCHINKASSO chasing me for my so called owed fund. They are planning to charge me for 134.50 EUR and demanded that I should repay it before 18.12.2016. I have never used the service again after initial login and you can verify with the company on this.
Please just cancel my membership or contract or whatever you call it. I didn't use your service and I am just a normal student.
The company are committing fraud as the content they hold is nothing similar to what advertised to get me to even try it. They are saying that I have signed a contract during the trial period. But the reality is I have never signed anything and trial period is free! it is not a part of a contract! If usenet are telling me that I am in a contract when I start the trial, that is not the truth and against the UK law.

Don't sweat the letter, William. I guarantee they will keep pushing back the date and raising fees, but they will never take you to court. There has never been a reported court case with these people, but I want to remind you that it is still a risk to ignore them. Good luck.

We are in same situation. My wife logged in, downloaded nothing and cancelled. They claimed email that cancellation was sent to was invalid and claimed money. Now we have a demand from Teschinkasso.

This company is ultimately owned by PEMIRA FUNDS, through Lowell GFKL - both companies that claim high ethical standards. I can only suggest we appeal to thes companies and ask why one of their subsidiaries supports this unfair taking of money from students who can't afford it.

Ethics is important in business. Usenet.nl clearly don't have them but Pemira Funds should

I couldnt cancel my service with them after the trial ended because their site was not working and they were told about the problem repeatedly but nothing was done until they felt the need to charge me I'm guessing. Why should you pay to these people. If people do that they will never stop. They are currently using a company called Teschinkasso to collect the debt. This is owned by Lowell GFKL, which is owned by Pemira Funds. Both claim highly ethical business. Make a noise ... and if it ever do come to court it might be a good thing and raise awareness. Otherwise they will keep scamming students who can't afford to pay.

Personally, I did not want to take the risk and not pay. I consulted a lawyer and he suggested that I do. I am fighting through the ftc to get my money back. Now, I just help people and give them advice who are going through the same thing.

Also, paying is the only way to get them to stop. And any lawyer will tell you that going to international court is 100 times more expensive ghan paying a $100 debt. It sucks and it's unfair, but all we can do is file complaints with the ftc.

Usenet.nl music service fraud

I cancelled my subscription with this company and all seemed ok until a couple of moths later when I got an email stating I owe 1 years subscription. I thought this was just a mistake and contacted them. They were unable to speak English and advised to call another time. This I did again and again where eventually I spoke to someone who said I had not cancelled my subscription. I said I had and anyway I was was cut off from the service on the day my last subscription ended so what am I paying for. They said I had not cancelled my subscription and just kept repeating this to which I kept repeating I had and the service was cut off. I am now receiving emails from a company in Germany who just keeps escalating the bill. I have written to the many times and they ignore my explanation and keep writing putting what they say I owe each time. Usenet is dreadful and does anything to extort money from customers. I had now resorted to stating take it legal through the courts or leave me alone. Something needs to be done about this. What do I do?

Unfortunately, if you did not receive a cancellation confirmation email, they will say that you did not cancel. And they make it extremely hard for you to do so. I spoke to lawyer about this same issue. They had signed me up for two accounts. Anyway, my lawyer told me that it is highly unlikely that they will pursue this for anything less than $1500. But, you can ignore it at your own risk. I have severe anxiety, so I decided to pay it, but there has never been a reported court case with these guys.

Usenet.nl unauthorized credit card charge

On 26/ 09/ 2016 I Signed up for a free 14 day trial on Usenet.nl. I cancelled it soon after as I realised I attempted to sign up for a similar trial with Usenet.nl a few months before (12/05/2016) but cancelled on the same day. I had been getting emails from Usenet.nl (from my first attempt to use their service on the 12/05/2016) saying my account had been blocked. Suddently on the on 06.06.16 09:27 I got this message "we unsuccessfully tried to collect the payment for your usenet.nl membership fee." and they asked me to verify my paymeny details - which I did not do. I tried to contact them via their contact form asking what this was about, but received no response. On the 26/09/2016 I got an invoivce from them for 99$ saying this would be charged to my account soon. I sent a message via ther contact form to say I had cancelled their free trial and told them to cancel any subscriptions I had been drawinto with immediate affect. On the 1/10/ 2016. I then sent another message via their contact form telling them would not pay this accound as their process was fraudfulent. On the 2/10/2016 i received another message sayimng my account had been reactivated and discovered they had managed toaccess my credit card account and deducted 99$. I want like a refund from this website.

There was an attempted charge some months ago. But this did not go through as I did not verify payment details and the message came back that my account was blocked. I sent a message via their form to query this and to say i had cancelled my trial, I received no response. I didn't think too much of this as at this point and no charges were deducted. As I access I lot of academic material I stupidly (but lesson learnt now) forgot I had already tried a Usenet trial - so more recently tried their 14 day trial - but cancelled it, got invoiced, sent another message via the contact forms saying i had cancelled the trial and did not want to be drawn into any subscription, i got charged anyway. Today I got a cancellation confirmation back, stating I would be refunded and that this would take up to 2 weeks.

I don't know - that's for them to confirm. I cancelled both 14 day trials before the expiry date and still got charged for a full annual subscription.

You got an confirmation back from usenet? That's good, as they rarely ever issue refunds, but you, unfortunately, are still responsible for the other account. They will eventually send debt collection letters to your house. Be on guard. Make sure the other account is also canceled.

But, you were only charged once? Did you get any cancellation confirmations back?

I'm confused. Which account did they charge you for?

Usenet.nl music service

They claimed I signed up for a trial. I did not! They then stole $100 and claimed I ordered the service... I did not. They refused my calls except to say I could not have a refund.
I never even heard of them before!
This occurred on Oct.5th 2016. The email stating their intent came in the morning around 9 AM EST; by the time I got through to my Debit Card people The money had been stolen. I emailed usenet.nl and was simply told "no refund".
I believe this is identity theft and have followed my bank's instructions and
filed complaints via my debit card people and the Federal Trade Commission.

I understand completely. It's frustrating. I assume you never received any emails or letters from them. Which means they only have your card number. This company is very incompetent. Try calling again tomorrow to see if you can get through. They probably refuse to talk to you because they don't want to lose that money. They know people have identities stolen, but when I find cases similar to yours it is always the same reaction from them. They just want money of some kind, then you never hear from them again. It's a scam masquerading as a legitimate business, but I it is not in their favor to steal from people who have not entered theit card information at all. They have to at least look legitimate.

I've dealt with this company before, and I had a terrible experience, but after long extensive research there has never been a case where they randomly pick a card and take money off it. Someone stole your identity. Call your bank and get the money refunded. I suggest you let usenet know that you want to cancel so that you don't get charged again, then block them through your bank. Unless you want to hire a lawyer to write a letter for you stating that your identity was stolen. That's the only proof this company will accept. Power of attorney.
