USB OrganizationCharges for non-existent service

1 Review updated:

Charges appeared on my FairPoint business phone bill from Enhanced Billing Services Inc. (ESBI). The charge said it was for ISP service monthly fee. The business has a dedicated line managed and paid for directly in connection with our servers ans web site. So this dial-up ISP service was clearly fraud. When I called ESBI I was automatically transferred to USB Organization. No one here ever spoken with either ESBI or USB and even if they gave some other name when they called, we wouldn't buy dial-up when we have a dedicate high speed line.

When I spoke with FairPoint they said they have seen a lot of this happening in New England since they took over service from Verizon.

USB Organization - Baiting phone call

I received a phone call every day for 3 days, all from the same male person with a heavy accent that was nearly impossible to understand. The first 2 times I simply said I'm not interested and hung up. The third time he started out with "I just want to verify your business information. There is no cost to you." I said that was fine and verified name, address, and phone number of the business. He then said he had to put his supervisor on to verify again.

The supervisor, Edward, verified the infomation again then said "we are not affiliated with your local phone company." This is when I finally realized the scam and questioned him. I advised him that our internet access was with the local phone company, we had no service with USB organization and I had no idea who they were.

Edward then hung up on me.

Caution: With the heavy accent and everything seeming OK at first, I was just getting to the point where I was about to tune him out. If I hadn't heard his last sentence I would have been scammed.
