I called in regards to my frequent flier miles. Over the years I earned 72, 000 miles. Due to family situations I had not traveled since end of 2006. At that time I also had two tickets I could not use of $500 each. Not being able to get a credit for the flights was something I accepted considering I had mileage I could use at a later date.
Well I was told in early July when asking about reinstatement of my miles by the rep on the phone, that all I would have to do is book travel before July 30th and my miles would be re-instated. I booked the travel in July for an August flight.
Following taking the travel, the mileage was not reinstated. Now USAIRWAYS personnel state that the rules changed, and I needed to have made the flight before July 30th. So now they want $300 just to reinstate the miles I have rightfully earned. Their agreement to me on the phone when making my reservation was they would be re-instated by booking travel which I did. If they had said no, I would have booked other travel arrangements. They should live up to re-instatement of miles without holding me hostage to having to pay $300 to get them back. they say due to lack of use, I lose the use of my miles. I wrote a complaint email to the CEO of USAirways, and have not received any response (pro or con).
My recommendation to everyone, use up your dividend miles with USAIRWAYS and don't fly them ever again!
