I was recruited in July 2009 by USA Truck. I took a 4 day miserable bus ride from Sacramento CA to Van Buren Ar. Worst 4 days of my life. After a 4 day joke of an orientation, I found out the truck assigned to me was in North Carolina. I was told I would get my pay rate, .34 per mile for the bus ride. Another 3 days on a bus and I was only paid for 812 miles. It was actually over 100 miles the way the bus route went. That was clue number 1. I have been driving for 23 years. From my very first load, they cheated my miles. I have a GPS and it calculates the fastest and most efficient route. For a trip 500 miles or less they will cheat you about 50 miles. A trip of 500 to 1000 miles they will cheat you about 100 miles. A trip over 1000 miles, which is rare, they will cheat you about 150 miles. They try and keep all loads under 700 miles because they make more on the short loads. You will be lucky to even get 2000 miles a week, usually around 1500 miles a week.
Now, when you quit this rip off company, they will not give you your escrow or your last check. I had to go through the Arkansas Labor Dept. in Little Rock. A woman named Sheila their proved everything they said was a lie and made them pay me every penny they were stealing from me. Over the eight bull [protected]@#t months I worked for them I talked to dozens of other ex employees who never did get their escrow or last check.
Also, you will be asked to do unsafe things. Example, I had a blowout in Stockton CA. and they wanted me to drive 20 miles in heavy traffic with chunks of tire flying off rather than spend the money for road service. If you are a new driver they will scam you into doing these things until you lose your license and then they will fire you. Do not drive for this company.

They will find and way to screw you out of money. They pay zip code to zip code. Then the trucks only go 62 mph if you are lucky. So u only can run 500 mile per day but you will only get paid for about 475 if you are lucky. Then on top of it all when you get the load call you are always not making it on time because they run them to close together. Then you sit and wait to be loaded or unloaded for hours so this dips in to the miles you might get. Sitting 4 to 6 hours out of your 14 hours means you get no money. Last check from them was only 400 dollars I can make that at home with my family.

Hell I worked for them for three/four weeks and they did not pay me what they owe me. I only got two checks from them. When I quit I waited two weeks hopin they would send me my last check. They did not. I called them and they said they mailed it out. I waited for a few days and still nothing. I called my lawer and he wrote them a letter. I got my money plus a few extra dollars. As far as the unsafe thing. My trainer was bad about saftey. He wanted me to run red lights turn in front of other vehicles. He even grabed the stering wheel and forced me to change lanes. My vehicle almost hit a mini van with kids in there. I called my new student contact in AR and told her what had happend and she told me I was lying. Thats when I quit. For anyone that read's this post and comments, if you do go and work for them and you get a trainer by the name of James Thomas Truck # T204 ask for someone else. He even stole my logg books. I asked him if he has seen my books in the truck he said ya I took them, you will not be needing them. I told him this is my proof of what iv driven. He said all well. Also if the truck stops for the night. and you are still sleeping he will start down the road and if you dont wake up soon after he will stomp on the brakes.
