USA Collection Agency / Continued harassing calls

1 United States Review updated:

This company has been calling for months asking for a person that has not lived here for 12 years. They call at all hours of the day and either hang up when we try to talk to them or threaten my wife when she answers.
The last person I spoke with told me they were "USA Collection Agency". My caller ID lists the number as being from New York, N.Y. [protected].
They were told long ago that there "Is no Marion at this number and has not been for 12 years." They were asked to put this in their files but the calls have continued.

What should I do?

Thank you

USA Collection Agency - harassing phone calls

Company has called three times in last three days claiming we owe money for magazine subscriptions. They cannot supply me with the magazine names or the subscription dates. When I ask for more information I am threatened with a bad credit rating. The last caller began yelling and threating me.

    USA Collection Agency - harrassment/fraud/obscenity

Unfounded "'collection of debt" call. Threats and obscene language. Deserves prosecution.
Caller would not discuss contact via US PS, so fraud is evident.

The USA co. has filed for bankruptcy. Remind the operator that they are about to be unemployed, and probably named in prosecution when they call next.

I, too, have received similar calls. The 'collector' tells me the same thing; I ordered but did not pay for magazines. When I ask what magazines these supposedly were, he informs me that due to "privacy laws" he can't tell me, but it was "pornographic material." Then he gives me a supposed contract number, first four digits of a credit card and "routing number." When I ask or a copy of the contract, he tells me it is a verbal contract, which was recorded. When I ask for the recording, I'm told it is in the custody of the unnamed magazine company. Although I supposedly owe in excess of $1, 000, I am told that they will settle for several hundred dollars!

Everything abut this is bogus. I don't understand why the state of New York or the US Attorney doesn't' shut these guys down!
