US Bank home equity loan process

In mid June 2009, my husband and I decided to apply for a home equity loan on our condo in Flagstaff, when our credit card company raised the interest rate on our balance to an unbelievable high. The condo is completely paid off as is our home in Kingman, all our vehicles and our rv. According to our American Express Credit Secure service, we have a credit score of 782. We have a steady monthly income with one payment towards the one credit card.
The process they put us through in the two months since, was unbelievably vague and unprofessional. We never received a loan packet which normally includes an application and request for various documents, such as what we owe, what we earn. Little by little, they would request another document or other and never let us know whether we were going to get the loan, how the application was progressing or anything. The local bank didn't know what was going on. We were completely jerked around. We asked and asked what was going on, what documents did they need. It was always the same answer. 'they're waiting for something or they needed an "additional document". Just today we received notification that we were turned down. We have never been turned down on a loan and are completely disgusted with this bank. Don't use US Bank. We will be closing our account. We used Downey Savings for years and never had any trouble, now that they are US Bank, they have insulted us, lowered our credit score by their refusal and they are unprofessional in their business.

Dear JoAnn Patterson,

Almost word for word our experience with a pending loan with US 'bank has been identical to yours. Although we have more credit card debt due to recent property construction improvements, our FICO was 707 and we have a perfect timely payment record, paying more than the minimum each month. US Bank tried everything to suppress the value of our 16 acres. We are just across the Highway from an Urban Growth Development area. At the edge of an up and coming area, although growth and sales have slowed down, the area is relatively healthy compared to most of the US.

We have a approximately $350, 00 more in "current value" according to comparisons than their appointed appraiser shows. The intention for this loan is to pay down our credit cards, which we would readily agree to US Bank cutting checks directly to them from the escrow.

Like you, we have NEVER been turned down for a home loan in our lives until US Bank fiasco. Over the past years we have purchased six homes.

Admittedly we felt a bit uneasy as they never gave us a loan packet or any application to fill out. When we asked, their manager replied that they don't need an application from us as they submit an application in our behalf. Most of the docouments we submitted were not even requested but we knew that they would be necessary in order to process our loan. Then they waited almost two weeks to respond to underwriting's request for documents, although we had been urging them to fax them over to them.

Had we known that we would be getting the run around for so long, we would have applied elsewhere but they just kept dangling the carrot, with little tidbits of information and insignificant document requests. We even received several letters of acceptance for our loan from US Bank's home office.

We are very active seniors, both with very lucrative businesses, married to each other for 47 years.

Is this a possibility of ILLEGAL AGE DISCFIMINATION or is US Bank safeguarding their excecutive Bonus Monies.

We hope this helps others in their search for a lender of integrity... it certainly is not US Bank in Oregon.

The worst customer service department I've ever experienced. Substandard knowledge and intelligence of representatives. I was transferred numerous times to get to the leasing department. I asked for the direct number so that the next time I called I wouldn't have to go through the maze, but they wouldn't give it to me. The first rep I talked to took all of my information, then said "excuse me, I have to leave now", and then he transferred me to another and then to another. Consumers BEWARE - do not lease through US Bank. Make sure your car dealer reveals the bank to you before you sign.

Wish I had found this site and others before dealing with US bank. The leasing division is the worst of all. The treatment I received from their people was the rudest and most frustrating thing I have ever dealt with. Got even worse when I went to purchase the truck. Their lack of attention to the financing lead to another convieniant addition to the payment when I was tolod their wasnt going to be up front. Don't even get me started about the revolving door they call interest rates.

US Bank wrong overdrafts and unknown accounts

I was a valued bank memeber with us bank for a few years. I closed the acount because I caught them putting overdraft fees on my account for no reason! I had to call five times before someone just admitted they didn't know how that happened. The other reps just tried to figure a way to make it seem like i'm crazy. Fortunately, I got someone after the fifth call that knew it was unexplainable. Anyway, so I closed that account. When I tried to open another account at another bank, I was in the chexsystems for us bank! The other bank rep told me that us bank said I owed them $2, 750.00! So, when I called them to ask wtf, the rep tolp me I had 3 accounts and they all had a balance of over $300.00. I'm in the process getting it resolved, but it doesn't make sense that I have to go through this! Never bank with us bank!

Sounds like employee theft to me. Point the finger at that branch's employees. If any employees were let go during your time banking with them for poor business practices, your account(s) will get linked to that time frame I bet.

US Bank customer service

I have a car loan with U.S. Bank. I was receiving paper statements and decided to go paperless with online statements and by receiving email alerts. The email alerts never arrived. Customer Service told me to place them on my 'contacts' list which I immediately did. Still no email alerts. My second call/email to Customer Service informed me that my emails were bouncing back as undeliverable despite the fact that the address is completely correct. They recommended I set up text alerts for my cell phone. I did so. The text messages came...at 5:00 a.m.! On my third contact with Customer Service, they informed me the text messages are random and they cannot control the time they arrive. They also told me regardless of whether my alerts were arriving, it was my responsibility to remember to make payments. After 4-5 months of no satisfaction from Customer Service, I went back to paper statements. I have NEVER had any difficulty with any online banking alerts coming to my email, so something is definitely wrong with the system at U.S. Bank. Lesson learned...never allow your car dealership finance dept to choose your financing company.

I have had the same experience at US Bank. My email provider said that the US bank emails contain link(s) that have been identified as spam so the email provider is bouncing the entire email as spam. US Bank needs to get their servers off of the spam lists.

US Bank late fee charges

I added my us bank credit card to my us bank bill pay almost 2 months ago received a phone call from them stating that I had not payed my bill... I had assumed that us bank would have provided me with bill alerts being that it is after all their bank and also due to the fact that when I set up the bill pay for their card that they issued me the us bank website stated that the information would be added to my bill pay since they have information on the biller that I was adding... Needless to say, no notice was given and yes a "late fee" was charged for what they claim was "my oversight."

Umm, hello Maggie! I know you replied to another complaint about US Bank and as the other person stated in another complaint, they did check their account online, as well as calling in and checking. The available balance is not correct! I closed my account with them in 2007. In September of 2009 I received a call from an attorneys office stating that I owed $1900.00 to US Bank! I asked how, no one can give me an answer. After going back and forth for the past 4 months, and paying $160.00 a month due to the fear this will go on my credit, still no information. I have never once received any information from US Bank of any charges that went through after I closed the account and of coarse, error on my part, never obtained paperwork stating my account was closed by my decision. I have reported the collection agency to the FTA for an unauthorized transaction and contacted the attorney today. They stated the amount might be from an $8.00 a day fee. I asked for a signature that I agreed to that fee, they stated there was nothing signed, it is in the terms and conditions. Stated that I need proof showing that I was provided the terms and conditions and they can't come up with anything. I will more than likely be taking them to small claims court. Attorney refused to be recorded. Odd, right?

US Bank systems are designed to ensure "customer errors amd ommissions" that generate late fees. It is part of their business strategy. Their credit card site provides no confirmation number for on line payments and then takes no responsibility for payments that they did not receive. They are the only bank/credit card company that I ever have a problem with out of the 13 personal and business accounts that I manage. I think that Balckplatter's mistake was not assuming that US Bank would send an alert but the mistake was assuming the bank was honest, ethical and professional.

US Bank charge me with fraud

I worked for a company near a us bank, I found out that the company kept all it accounts at the us bank. So I opened a checking account at that us bank, big mistake. My first pay check was placed on hold for over one week. They stated they needed to verify the check. I was promised in writing, after much complaining to have the check released and credited to my account on a specific date. I need to pay my bills and so on that day the check was to be released I sent payments. Well, I found out the check was not released, it was sent to us bank fraud division. They had to check to see if the check was a fraud. Mind you all was need was a call to the company less than a mail away. Us bank claimed this was standard procedure with a check for the amount on my paycheck.. Some $1400.00. After a mouth the what was left of my check was credited to my account. During all this us bank took money, insuffent funds fees out of my check, when one of the checks I wrote came in. I showed the bank manager the letter from them promising me the check would be credited to my account an a specificed date, her rely.."we were investigating a possible fraud"... I was never charged with any crime by us bank or any other agency or person.

Last month (November 2012) I accepted a job as a "Mystery Shopper". I received a check in the mail for $1, 290.00. I contacted the supposed employer and they gave me instructions on how to spend the money and send reports to them. I then deposited the check and waited for it to clear. Once the check cleared, I called the company to advise them. They advised me to follow their instructions on how to spend the funds. I did part of what I was told to do before the check came back as bad. My Bank (U.S. Bank) then closed my account, reported me to Chexsystems and sent my account to collections all in one week. I was NEVER given a chance to correct the issue. Plus, because U.S. Bank reported me to Chexsystems, My secondary bank (Citibank)closed the account I had with them. Personally, I feel this was Bad Business on the part of U.S. Bank because I've had my account with them for approximately 7-8 years and NEVER had a situation like this. Now because I have been reported to Chexsystems, I can't open a bank account. Also, The Collection Agency Harasses me on a daily basis. Is this Legal?

US Bank lease

US Bank "steals" again! Actually, my nickname for US Bank is the
"U Suck" Bank of America...Leased a Honda CRV for four years and turned it into the dealership on the due date. Not one late payment EVER! There were NO Excess Wear & Tear damages. The car was in pristine condition with 2, 000 miles UNDER the lease agreement. Then, a month later, I recieved an "End of the Contract" Termination fee for $420 bucks...WHAT! We've leased prior and have never been charged a penny for FULFILLING the lease agreement. I guess this is why the banks are such a struggling financial institution and need government assistance...yeah right. Not if you're stealing like US Bank! I'm done with them and will NEVER deal with US BANK for anything! I'm writing a letter to the car dealerships and urging them to eliminate US Bank as an option for financing any kind of auto loan. I feel like I have to personally do something to stop the dirty scoundrels!

I am a leasing agent with a large leasing company. I've never seen a lease that did not have a end of term fee. It's usually $250-$500. The company you should be angry with is the dealership you leased it from. They knew when they leased it from you, there was a fee. You should also be angry with yourself for not reading the lease agreement yourself. Never trust a car dealership, ESPECIALLY on a lease. I'm not defending US Bank, but in the case of the end of term fee, they all charge one. It pays for the inspector to come out and transport the car to the auction.

I have an auto loan with U.S. Bank and got the payment protection plan with it. I was allowed 30 days to cancel the plan with no charge. I decided to cancel and notified them within a few days. I even recieved a cancellation confirmation. They keep charging me every month for it, and after numerous phone calls (no one ever returns your call) they said I just have to keep paying the extra amount and it will be applied towards my loan balance. When I applied for this loan they said that if I cancel, the amont would be subtracted from my monthly payment. None of my statements reflect this and I can only assume I will pay over $700 for nothing.

In fact, your "guess" is totally wrong. The vehicle was in near perfect condition, as confirmed by the Volvo dealer who I did ask to inspect it at turn-in. US Bank's response to this was to point to the lease language that specifically disallows any inspections by any party other than their own inspection. On why I didn't keep the car after lease, the answer is simple: I did not choose that route because I wanted a smaller, more fuel efficient car. Anticipating this possibility four years previous, I chose to lease, rather than purchase, so that I would have that option. In my case, the issue actually has nothing to do with the condition of the vehicle (I am fine to argue over whether a 3/16" door ding is excess wear and tear), but rather concerns the one-sided nature of the lease contract language. Their standard contract defines excess wear and tear as any scratch, ding, windshield nick--anything--and leave the determination of such only to US Bank's inspector. The lease specifically denies the lessee any recourse to challenge the assessment or the charges, again determined solely by the Bank and its inspector. This issue is not specific to me, but is common to ALL US Bank vehicle lessees. When challenged on this point, US Bank simply responded that that is the lease language and I signed it. While that is a correct statement, it does not make it a fair, or possibly, even legal contract. In my opinion, it is a contract of adhesion and is patently unfair. And it is a practice that US Bank should not be allowed to get away with.

US Bank - unlawful holding of funds ($3000)

I filed a dispute concerning non-receipt of an item I had ordered. Apparently this gives green dot the right to hold my current balance of funds and my direct deposit amounts (Totalling approximately $3000). What!!! I get ripped off and somehow that gives them the right to keep my money!!! I am a single mother of 4 and they have every dime I have to my name...

I was advised by mr alexander abfalter of bonus capital trust in liechtenstein, that trustes of the justen family trust, are not disclosing a trust to me.,
Mr. Abfalter, handed me a letter that steven knox, truste sent to him that states in writting, thank you for keeping your word on nondisclosure to bill.. What we must keep private are the names of the co-trustees and terms of the trust. Stated steven knox to liechtenstein truste alexander abfalter. This letter is just part of nondiscloser and tax fraud proplems within this group of trustes, who will do anything, keep control of assets that do not legally belong to them, and not pay federal income taxes, more to come.

US Bank increase in interest rate

I opened my statement today and found an increase in the APR to 15.24%. It was 5.25%!

My situation is similar to others that have posted. I pay on time and i've paid more than the balance due. I called twice today and ended up with a supervisor that treated me like I was an idiot. Where can I go to find out what the justification would be for banks to do this? That's all I was asking. What's going on? Things are happening every month - reducing limits on cards, changing terms, raising rates.

If there is nothing the banks can do, what can consumers do? Anything consumers try to do sometimes create more problems that affect the credit score. This whole thing is getting ridiculous!

yup, happened to me too. I`ve been paying my dues loyally ever since i got a US Bank card. I started off at 0% promotional rate till November 2009, then once that expired they jacked the rate to 9.15% in December 2009. Heres the problem, in January 2010, they jacked up the rate again to 13.99% without notifying me or sending me any letter!
i`ve had it with these idiots playing us like fools and here we are bailing banks out with our taxpayer money while their CEO's still rake in their millions in bonuses.
I think its about time we get together and sue these criminals!

06/03/2009 - Guess what! Same thing happened to us. We NEVER received any letter, (which they claimed to have sent). I have already filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and considered filing one with the BBB and whomever else I can think of! But then the thought occurred to me that if they can increase our rates like this, then they can probably close out our accounts for any reason whatsoever, so then I "backed down" because IF they would close our account it would again damage our credit. What a crock! Our interest rate was also increased to 15.24% - that seems to be the amount across the board. But you know what "still" worries me is that they made it a VARIABLE rate which leaves it open for them to increase IT EVEN MORE! YIKES - WHERE WILL IT END? I agree something does need to happen now - not next year. What good does 2010 do us - that only gives them more time to think of ways to screw us. Unhappy in Wyoming...

They did the same thing to me. I just called and they told me that they check my credit score every 90 days. Since they noticed a change in my credit score they increased my interest rate from 5.15% to 15.24%. I told them they had no right checking my credit scores as long as I pay my payment on time (which I do every month). They also told me that I should have received a letter indicating that my interest rate was increasing. I told them I never received the letter. I am waiting for a supervisor to call me back. The lady told me that this sort of thing won't be happening when the new law goes into affect next year - in the meantime the consumers are getting screwed! Something needs to happen now - not next year!

This seems to be a pattern with USBank. They do not give out any information when requested. When one threatens to excersize their rights USBank gets pissy. My trust administrator threatened to liquidate our real estate holdings so to "diversify our assets". That would have been disaster in this economic climate.

My advise: get a good attorney and push USBank to resign the trust. Make yourself the trustee! Start with letters to Diane Thormodsgard and Mark Jordahl at USBank corporate in Mn

US Bank online banking

US Banks online banking has been down for over 2 hours. They are displaying a message saying they are doing "routine maintenance." I work in IT and I know that no one does rountine maintanence in the middle of the day by choice --- I assume they were having an issue. I finally called the bank to see if there was an ETA on when the problem would be fixed and the system would be back online. To my great surprise, I was told there is no problem (nor was there an ETA as to when it should be back up. I was told to just 'keep trying'). US bank has purchased some banks in California and they are running a conversion program to integrate customer information into their regular system. DURING NORMAL WORKING HOURS?! Excuse me? What kind of an organization impacts their customers to run a rountine program that should be handled during the overnight hours like everyone other real-time transaction processing shop does it? Clearly, this company doesn't care about customer service. This is the proverbial last straw for me. I'm going bank shopping.

US Bank closing of the checking account

On December 1, 2008 I have became a victim of identity fraud. All of my personal information was stolen and I was advised to close all of my accounts. The same day I went to my local US Bank branch located in Meijer in Rolling Meadows (1301 Meijer Rd, Rolling Meadows, IL 60008 ph#[protected]) and closed my savings account. At first I wanted to keep my checking account open because I was waiting for some transactions to be cleared. On December 4th I have received an email notification from US Bank that my address on the checking and money market account has been changed and if this is not correct I need to come in to the branch. I left my work and went to the Rosemont location (9575 W. Higgins Rd Rosemont, IL 60018 ph#[protected]) and talked to the branch manager Doug Karlic. I explained my situation and told him to close the account as soon as possible even though some transactions are still pending. I was told that it will take up to 48 hours for the system to close this account. I advised him to close it so I can have this issue resolved by the end of the week. Few days later I went to Elmhurst branch (536 S. York Rd, Elmhurst, IL 60126 ph#[protected]) to close the money market account. I needed to go there with my aunt who was a primary person listed on this account and she opened this account at that location and we were told I will not be able to close this account without her signature. Again, we explained the situation and ask for the account to be closed. Everything was done the same day and money market account was successfully closed. I asked the customer service representative about my checking account and was told it is still open after 48 hours later. She advised me to call the customer service 800’s number and talk to them. I placed numerous phone calls to their customer service department and every single time I was told a different thing. Basicly they told me that they will not be able to help me with closing that account because I have to go to the branch where the account was open which was Elmhurst branch. After calling them they said that the closing of the account can be done at every US Bank branch. When I told them that I already requested that at Rosemont branch they directed me over there. So I went there and again was told that this will take another 48 hours because the system didn’t recognize the previous request because I had some transactions pending. I said I wanted this account to be closed right now and I’m willing to pay any fees but I want everything to be closed. I was promised it will be closed in the week. Today is March 23, 2009, four months later and my checking account is still open. I just received a statement from US Bank saying my ending balance on the account is $0.28. I truly don’t know what to do anymore. I called customer service so many times and visited the branches few times, talked to many people at US Bank and no one is able to close my account. I wonder how hard it is to close the basic checking account. US Bank never apologize for anything. This entire process took a very bad toll on me. I was constantly stressing out that someone will try to access my personal information on that account, especially when someone already tried to change the address on this account.
I have been US Bank customer for over 6 years and I will never do any business with this institution ever.

I also bank with US Bank and waiting for 1/31 for direct deposit transaction to happen and then I want to close my account and open at Huntington Bank. US Bank never helped me and are fraud. When I was in the overdraft not long ago, I did everything to put some money into my account so I am above so I am in plus with my account. by the time I got home and went on internet banking, I was in minus again because they withdrew the money from my account and I asked when at the bank in person If I was ok and so did the balance show that I was...in solid $300 good. I got home, I was under 100 meaning in overdraft and I had no auto pay...from my account...they took my money a big chunk of money...they don't give a damn about us customers...so after reading all the reviews above, makes me really paranoid how this is going to play when I need to go to the bank and close my account...and never again have any business with them. I am already on verge of bankruptcy and if they are going to tell me to go to close my account on the other side of town., west side of where I am living and in these weather conditions...and to be told I could have done it at the local branch...I swear I am going to scream at them.

I did not learn about the $.25 charge per use for using my debit card until I overheard a teller explaining it to a new customer approximately 1 month after opening my account. I reviewed the literature I had and couldn't find anything describing such a charge. To avoid such a frivolous charge to my account each time I purchased something with the card, I began using the charge function instead. That prevented the $.25 debit charge, but the transactions weren't showing up on my account in a timely fashion. As a new customer, I was specifically instructed to go by the 'available balance' for fund availability. However, the bank conveniently wasn't posting transactions in a timely manner, which skewed my true available balance.

I have all receipts for transactions using my US Bank card since I opened the account. I have compared ALL transactions for a particular day to the available balance shown on the paper statement on that date, and NEVER did I EVER go below the available balance on my statement. However, each month US Bank has charged me multiple overdraft charges (at $35.00 each) for overdraft charges THEY say I had incurred that somehow didn't show up on anything, whether in my online banking statement nor the paper statements I have.

This bank is a bunch of crooks and should be held accountable for their poor practices.

I do have to admit that after six years of banking with them they have shown me the very opposite of 5 star customer care. I have had a secured Visa and checking account with them for several years and even though I have received generous credit from Bellco Credit Union, Capitol One, Bank of America, and HSBC, I always fail to get my US Bank card converted into a non-secured card. I faile to see their reasoning behind this, if my credit is that bad why do I have these perfect accounts with these first and second tier lenders. I moved all but a thousand dollars of my direct deposit to Bellco and leave a cool grand that I am sure to always spend in the US Bank account. I only deposit money their because of the card I have with them, otherwise I would have dropped them like a hot coal. I makes me sad, I banked with them because my mother has worked for them for around eleven years, yet they can't extend me real credit. This company is doomed to fail, they are not worthy of my money or yours, I recommend Bank of America or a local credit union, skip the money junkie tight-wads.

Bellco Car Loan 9K
Bellco Visa 1K
Bellco Personal Credit Line 500
Capital One Rewards 750
Capital One Classic 500
Bank of America Visa 500

But never good enough for US Bank, nor are they good enough for me!

U.S. Bank is a huge fraud and only out to screw you the customer. I have excellent credit, neer missed a payment or defaulted on anything. I submitted a CC aplication to combine three Cards onto one and take advantage of their 0% interest for 12 months. The approved the application, then only trnasferred the two small amounts and charged me $50 in trnasfer fees. When I asked what happened to the third thransfer they said they didn't approve it. I said why wasn't I told? Asked to reverse the whole thing, told I couldn't; asked to have my limit increased $2000 to cover the third transfer, told I'd have to wait 6 months. I could cancel the card, they were fine with that, but they would keep my $50 transfer fee. Stay away from this bank, they are a dishonest operation.

Got a letter stating they had issue a check on May 22, 2012 and that the check had not cleared. It took a week to get thru on their phone lines, I informed them that we never rec'd the check and they said, I'm sorry but we show it was mailed. I told them I check all our financial records and we never deposited that much money and don't recall ever receiving that check. She said that in order to get a replacement check we had to pay a $15 fee to cancel the last check. I told her I didn't feel it was right for me to pay for a check cancelation for something I never rec'd. I guess that doesn't matter. They say they mailed it and that I must have rec'd it. Great customer service. So if I want the balance of the money I put up with this kind of treatment.

I opened the a/c when i was 23 with US Bank now 42. I moved overseas 10 years ago with a debt of $35000 from the same bank and paid every penny. I bought a house and again took a loan from US bank for another $15000 to $20000 and paid that off. 3 years ago i moved my family back and was sending money every month to cover their expenses during my financial crises. I didn't take any more loan from US Bank. Couple of months ago i decided to come back to my family and started to sell everything i had abroad. My brother in law took $20000 from me here and deposited in my a/c through someone in US. The bank started giving hard time to my wife and had here take cashier check for $10000. I called them and they said that someone else can not deposit money into our a/c. The rest she paid off the car and spend on living and bills. US Bank closed the a/c without sending any information which the claim they did. My wife opened the a/c in Bank of America and i am sending the money there for the family. I am moving back and selling everything plus my end of service bonus award will all be send to BOA. They are very happy and we are very happy. I deeply regret giving business to US Bank who do not value their costumers. I am a proud American and I always thought that making and sending money from abroad some how helps the economy little bit. P.S they closed everything but left a $20000 credit card open.

Ambivalent wording regarding application of payment to their credit cards, does NOT cover when you have TWO zero interest balance items.
They applied payments for 5 months to new zero interest item and not to original balance.
I phoned and was told they didn't know how to get payment or part of payment to old balance. I wrote: the 2 letters did not address my issue.
One in fact said they couldn't issue another card. I didn't ask for another card. I phoned again and was told in spite of wording that did not
address application of payment to TWO zero interest items, I must pay my account in full $9470, to pay off the $2129 that becomes interest
bearing next month. SLEAZY. Other banks are clear in their wording or work with one if they want to keep you as a customer. I closed the account.
Luckily I have the money to pay off this account and forget about them.

I don't know about the rest of America, but US BANK to me is a CROOKED BANK. Not only did they boast of being 0ne of Two banks that made a profit in 2008, they took billions of dollars in taxpayers money to pad their pockets. Here is the CROOKED PART they adjust their computerized bank records to STIFF their CUSTOMERS. Just last night my wife was out and checked her balance at an ATM, it said she had enough monye for a moderate withdrawl. When she got home later she went on line to validate her balance and check how much she need to depsoit to bring her account back to where it was. I went to a US BANK branch at 9:00 AM and made a cash deposit for her. When I got home she checked her balance on line again as she always does and just like clock work, US BANK changed her balance records putting the last nights withdrawl five down, before the other withdrawls previously taken out, and then proceeded to put her in negative status for the prior withdrawls. Four charges of $37.50 for each transaction = $150.00 in US BANK charges. To me this is manipulation of bank records and theft by deception of CUSTOMER CASH. I want to see more reports posted on the site and I will look from time to time to see the response. My God are there any HONEST business people in AMERICAN BUSINESS ? These CROOKS - US BANK show be PROSECUTED !

My wife and I got a security system for our home last month. The monthly fee, taken automatically out of our checking account was supposed to be $44. The security firm took out $143, putting our account in the negative. In one day, U. S. Bank had our account to minus $127. We deposited $313 the day we found out the account was over-drawn.

That was last Wednesday. By Friday, they had the account in the minus again, to the amount of $127 again. There had been absolutely no activity on the account from us in those three days. No checks were written, and we did not use the debit card. My wife called the bank and all customer service would tell her was that there were overdraft charges, but they would not tell her what they were for or how we got them. By this Monday, the account was over $300 in a negative balance.

I noticed in another one of these reports that someone said U. S. Bank charges you $8 for every day that your account is in the negative. That is absolutely true, but even better than that, they then charge you a $37.50 fee on the $8 they took out because the $8 came out of a negative balance. So you actually get charged $45.50 for every day the account is the negative.

My wife has talked to the manager of the bank and I have tried to call him a couple of times, but he does not return phone calls, and he is always too busy to talk to anyone, whether by phone or in person.

Any helpful people out there who want to tell me some soothing advice like I should keep more money in the account, or have a budget, spare me. The negative balance was not our fault, and U. S. Bank has used the opportunity to hose us to the amount of $762 so far We had to deposit another $450 that we didn't have today to get the account back into a positive balance. U. S. Bank takes every opportunity to relieve people of their money. If you can't give someone constructive advice on how to fix the problem, don't give advice at all. Some of us actually have to live from pay check to pay check without a safety cushion.

The service department did not close my account when I called about a lost card. They refused to put the card on hold, and said that they have NEVER allowed temporary holds on cards. I had been given a temporary hold on another occasion with very friendly and warm service, so I questioned this. I suppose because I questioned it, they simply decided to cause me trouble. I found out almost 10 days later that they had not closed the card, nor had they mailed me a new debit card! When I called back they made no offer to investigate the wrong handling of my account. Putting the supervisor on the phone made the situation much worse. She was cold and rude. She repeated the statement that they cannot put a temporary hold on an account - kept repeating this, no matter what I said. At first I was calmly asking her questions, and finally she said "Oh, you said ACCOUNT - we can't put a temporary hold on an account. " I said, no, actually it's pretty clear that we are talking about a card! Every issue that I tried to bring up, there was nothing but a brick wall from the other end. This was to the point of being abuse. When I had reached the point of frustration to where I was raising my voice, I said that I would need to speak with someone else. Then she proceeded to threaten me with a $25 late fee to rush the card to me. She did not offer any help or options at all until I got to the point of frustration - then she said "Mam, if you would have let me talk, I was going to offer to rush you a card. " I said, I have been calmly asking questions for 15 minutes here and you offered nothing! Of course I got frustrated! Your job is to offer service, and you have not been responsive to my needs at all. During this she was interrupting me the entire time, and saying that they do not HAVE to waive the $25 fee to rush the card to me -- even though they screwed up and didn't mail the card to me! I finally told her that I am very worried that I gave my social security number over the phone to a guy who did nothing at all after telling me the card would be closed. And I am not getting a good feeling from her, either. I told her I would rather just speak to someone else to close the card. She finally said, well then you can just call the 800 number again. She also told me that she was as high as I could go - that I would not be successful in complaining to upper management! And there truly is no complaint line, so customer service for US Bank is a JOKE!

US Bank terrible bank

On Oct. 6th, 2009 my parents sent me 850.00 dollars, from the sale of my car, I paid my rent with a check (I had enough money to cover the rent and the check fee in my account). My mom said when she put the money in my account she paid a fee; what she didn't realize and therefore couldn't tell me was she had sent me a wire transfer and now I had been charged $20.00. I have had money transferred into my account on several occasions and I had never been charged before.

On Oct. 15, a post card was sent to my address, because my balance was negative $88.25. I went to the bank and talked to the manager as soon as I received the notice. We looked at my account and he informed me of the wire transfer charge and the fees that had been caused by it. I hadn't used my debit card stupidly I just wasn't aware of how the money had been transferred to my account. The bank manager explained how wire transfers to us and then said if we paid the $20.00 wire transfer fee he would 'refund' the other fees we had been charged. We paid the fees and our account was set to zero. (I don't have the exact dates or the exact amount 'refunded' but I am going to get it).(because of this 'refund' I couldn't get another one when I really needed it).

On Dec. 19, 2009 we received very sad news that forced us to take a trip to Reno, we started this trip with $362.00. On the way to Reno we encountered three winter storms, a shucks auto person sold us tire chains that were way to big, so we bought more chains, and in this frantic state we did not remember that we charged Jiffy lube which was $47.94 and one other charge (maybe starbucks). We almost never use our debit card, we drove straight to Reno, it took twenty hours and we made fifteen purchases on Dec. 22.

On Dec.22 we over drew on two purchases one for $10.93 and one for $9.79, our ending balance on the statement says we closed at $14.48.

On the 23rd, we made two purchases using the debit card one for $9.45 and one for $7.89 our ending balance on the 23rd was negative $72.86 (we were charged two overdraft fees at $35 each).

On the 24th, we made one purchase of $11.38 and we received two $35 dollar over draft fees. (Ending balance of negative $154.24).

On the 26th, we made one purchase for $1.38, we received one overdraft charge of $37.50 and one for $16.00. (Ending balance of negative $209.00)

Yes I know we should have checked the balance but at the time I didn't once think about the bank, and I assumed that we had whatever money was spent. Some how we also didn't think that the debit card kept working well below, we have now been corrected on that matter. In total we take complete responsibility for the $60.00 dollars in over drafts. We were not able to return from Reno because of a storm that caused road closure, and our front strut broke and shredded two tires.

When we returned on Dec, 31st I found the notices in the mail and on Jan. 2nd I went to the bank. The bank manager informed me over the negative balance of $302.00. I asked about repayment plans, getting a credit card to charge the debit onto, but the manager said he couldn't do anything and that I would be charged $8 dollars a day for every day negative; I had to pay rent which we amazingly had the money for after taking an extremely unplanned trip.

On Jan.13, 2009 I went to the bank I had been to (in Oct) they suggested I go to my home branch, talk to the manager about maybe paying half and having them fix('refund') the rest. On Jan 12 the ending balance was negative $382.62

Around Jan. 20th, I went to my 'home' branch, the manager wasn't there, I took $150 cash and by the time I was done talking with the teller I put my money away. The $8 dollar a day fee would eat away the money until I could pay the debit in full. He also said because I had a recent (from Oct) 'refund' on my account that I can get another 'refund'.

When I went to my 'home' branch I took the letter I had received ( the return address was from that branch) ; this letter said I could call an 866# and get enrolled in a repayment plan. When I asked the teller about the repayment plan he had no knowledge of it, then after he read the letter and said I could only enter the program by calling the phone number.

When I did talk to my 'home' branch manager she also said because I had been 'refunded' money previously that she couldn't help me.

I called the phone number, (I continue to call this phone number), the only thing that has happened so far is I get 'the voice mailbox is full' or it rings and then it makes the awful noise. I finally got into the program on the last day my account was open, they didn't answer though I pressed 0 and got transferred to a real live person who was somehow part of the repayment department. First they had me hold my account open longer so they could file the appropriate paper work, and then they set me up for a $94.00 payment every 15th for the next six months.

I made one payment( now I only owe $458), then my boyfriend and I both lost our jobs. I also found out I am pregnant. All I wanted was a repayment plan that could make this debt smaller so I could pay it, everybody (bank managers and tellers ) said they couldn't help me. I don't know what to do. I want to see if they will allow me to skip a payment, I still owe rent for this month, I have been trying to call them since the 10th of march and I can't get a hold of them. I hold for like 15 minutes and then it says ' voice mailbox is full' or it rings and then I get a busy signal.

I went to the bank and had the manager call the 866# but she couldn't get through either. She finally called another number and they said the weather where the repayment plan is located is really bad.

All the USBank branches I go to tell me I need to call the 866#, even when I tried pressing 0 on the 866# number they said they couldn't help me. It's like repayment is a separate country.

I can't pay this month, I don't know if anyone knows what I should do. I posted this here because I wanted to pay what I owe, I couldn't while I was being charged eight dollars a day, and now that I am finally in the repayment plan I can't talk to anybody to tell them what's going on. I just feel like I am being pushed into debit.

Can some one really tell me what the ramifications of not being able to pay this debt is? I have no credit as far as I know, I have never owned a credit card or bought something with payments just because I was trying to avoid debt. Now I am not sure if it's worth it I could do a lot $458 and without the trouble of dealing with a broken banking system.

I deposited $200.00 through ATM. This was my first time doing so. An envelope came out of the ATM and put 2- $100 dollor bill in and put it back to the machine.
I did not get a receipt. When I received the statement I discovered that it showed $200.00 withdraw. I lost $400.00. I contacted customer service and told me that
I do not have any proof and there is nothing they can do. I can not believe their answer. They should have records of all the ATM transactions.
I guess I have to contact Police Department. I want to see their proof of me withdrew money.

Dealt with mortgage specialist for refinancing at the Fox lake, Illinois branch and was given the run around since March of this year. She kept coming up with every excuse as to why it was taking so long at the underwriters and as of today, I am still waiting for approval. Very discouraged with this bank. Would not recommend this bank, because it seems that they do not want to help. They would rather have you not pay your mortgage and foreclose then to help you with refinancing.

I don't really see your point here. You spent more money than you had, and you think this is somehow the bank's fault? How would you feel if I borrowed $400 from you and then said I couldn't pay because I had an emergency in Reno and lost my job and became pregnant?

US Bank illegal cash advance

I broke my leg and was in the hospital when my husband called me saying he was having problems getting money from an atm.. he had made 3 withdeaws at an atm i went online and found out that he had the wrong atm card. so i transferred 480.00 from the other acct we have to the account he had taken from. i did this immediately...now that was on a fri ..mon i called the bank. explained what happened to the bank manager jennifer at the st roberts, mo branch..she said ok she could remove the 6x 37.50 fee's but i would have to come in and sign a form requesting the removal..i explained again i just got out of hosp and couldnt drive. she was rude and said then the fee's would remain, i was able to get a neighbor to drive me an hour to the closest bank where jennifer faxed the form, i signed it filled it out explaining what happened and that us bank faxed it to the st roberts bank to jennifer the bank manager.. i didnt hear from her so i called her the next day. she said she would decided weather or not to remove the fee's and i would need to get money in there or have daily fee's accumulate. i explained to her i did not have funds to put in there as im not working ive broken my foot and going thru surgery. several days passed and i called her at this point she would not speak or return my calls this went on for a week i called the main office in st louis several times they said they called her and she would be calling me...she didnt meanwhile an 8.00 a day fee was incurring on that account. i called again and she told an emoployee craig to tell me to put money in there by taking a cash advance i told him no. i wouldnt be able to pay that back my boss has now fired me because of my broken foot.. jennifer told him to tell me to bad the fee's will continue i asked him to just close all 4 of my accounts. he said jennifer said no i needed to take an advance. the next day i went online and he did he took an advance of 330.00 from 1 account and deposited into the other..i called and asked to talk to jennifer but she refused my calls...i called st louis main office 4 days later she called 1mar.2009 i told her someone took an advance on my account and put in the other one. she said well that is cheaper than the 8.00 a day fee. i said i dont care i did not authorise craig to do that..she said oh well now i will close your other 3 accounts and when your tax check comes you can pay that off...i have banked at this bank since 1988 and have never in my 52 years of life been treated and lied to as i have with this bank manager jennifer from st roberts, missouri us bank.

US Bank overdraft

So there is 600 dollars in my account and 5 pending transactions on Monday.

I rent a car on Wed. and they authorize for more than the available balance.

3 transactions go through Thursday and accrue 3 overdraft charges that amount to over 100 dollars in fees... even though the actual transactions occurred days before the car rental and even as I write this, there is enough money to cover them as the car rental and the other 2 pending transactions from before the car rental still have not cleared. In the end I anticipate that because the car rental was so cheap but they authorized for so much more than it actually costed, I'm going to have over 200 dollars in fees but my actual balance will never have actually gone into the negatives EVEN AFTER THE FEES.

So thats right, at the end of the day there is enough in my account to cover the actual transactions AND the fees that are apparently being charged because "there wasn't enough money" WITHOUT ever actually going into the negatives.

US Bank overcharged

USBank allows banking customers to make debit card purchases, even if their account is in the negative. You can't assume that you are protected. They are happy to charge you $37.50 bounce charge for a $3.00 coffee purchase. You might have a deposit that is returned. They don't notify you of the situation for almost 7 working days. In the meantime, you continue to make debit card purchases, thinking that your account has funds. I didn't KNOW my account was in the negative. In the 7 days it took USBank to have the US Postal service deliver a notice to my mailbox, I made a total of 12 purchases. 12 x $37.50 in fees.

I called USBank and the Branch Manager agreed to put my account on hold until the problem could be resolved. He lied. My account continued to accrue Daily negative fees of $8.00. In fact, my account was set up to transfer $50 from my checking account to my savings account every month on the 15th. USBank processed this transaction...$50 from my NEGATIVE checking account into my savings account. They then proceeded to charge $37.50 for the transaction. When my deposit was returned to the bank, it caused my account to go into the negative. They assessed a $19 returned check fee. THEN they charged a $37.50 bounce fee on the $19 returned check fee. THEN they charge an $8 per day negative balance fee on top of the $27.50 plus $19.00.

I asked the branch manager to provide the written policy that allows them to charge fees on fees on top of fees. He told me providing that information was 'not in his job description'.

If you look at your account online, you may see that they are bouncing checks even when you show a POSITIVE balance. I asked why they were doing this. I was told I didn't KNOW HOW TO USE MY TOOLS. You have to double click on the balance to discover the REAL balance, which is almost always less than the balance they are showing on the register. There is no way to figure out HOW they come up with that number.

This is FRAUD plain and simple and it needs to be reigned in! These people are crooks and the people that continue to work for them should be ashamed of themselves.

Banking customers are human beings. They have families. They are drawn to USBank because USBank advertises 'FREE' checking. THEN...they institute policies that are hidden, like the ones described above. Oh yeah...they might put them in the fine print. They insisted to me that they explain them in detail when you open your account. THEY DO NOT. It is theft. It is fraud. It is preying on the low income, pay check to pay check community and it needs to be ended.

I hear all this complaining about the interest rates charged at check cashing stores. That's NOTHING! This most recent fiasco resulted in fees that, when totaled and annualized, came to 8, 076% annual interest.

In this time of economic difficulty EVERYWHERE, we should all be VERY selective about who gets to control our money. USBank is made up of thieves. BEWARE. BOYCOTT this bank. Head for a credit union. These days you don't have to be an employee to join them. Their focus is not so much on profit as it is on service.

Pull you money out of USBank and any other institution that preys on the little guy.

US Bank fraud and cheating

My son was given permission while I was in the hospital to use my check card to by some groceries. Due to a mis-calculation which was my fault there was an overdraft on my personal account of 11.61. I am registered for alerts however; they never get to me until the next day or within 3 days.

So US Bank is charging me 35.00 for the overdraft, that's to be expected; here is the kicker, the personal account is also connected to my credit card account with US Bank, which resulted in the bank taking my last 9.00 out to put towards the overdraft. This means since there is a 10.00-dollar charge for that transaction and there was only 9.00 in the credit card account I am now being charged an additional over limit fee of 39.00.

That's a total of 35.00 + 39.00 + 2.50 = 76.00 for an 11.61 overdraft, no wonder US Bank does not need a bail out at this time it rips off the customer, nice.

All I can do is pay it though; however, once my relatives including my son who has accounts' with US Bank found this out they all are closing their accounts as I will within the month.

These fees along with fees charged by other financial institutions are too much considering the fact we are bailing out a lot of them with taxpayer funds.

I opened a 'free' cking account with US Bank early this year. In April, I DID make a small error, which I admit, and my ck, acct was overdrawn by approx. $40, however, I was not aware of that fact for a week, and sent out several small checks (less than $20/ea.) US Bank charged me $35 for the 'mistaken' ck, then charged me $35 for all the small charges and cks, one was for $3!. When I brought my payck to deposit, and receive money back for food, etc. the teller said I was now overdrawn by $175.00, and could not receive money back. All attempts to talk common sense to the Branch manager was like talking to a brick wall, they wanted the 175 PLUS $7 day. I explained that I realized I made an error, and was willing to pay the $35, but not for the other very small cks, which the bank put through AFTER the larger one, so that they could collect fat fees, all with a $35 fee . Several E-Mails and phone calls resulted in nothing, now US Bank has turned my acct over to a collection agency, with a price tag of $685! This from an original overdraft of only $40! DO NOT deal with US Bank!

US Bank overcharged

I received overdraft charges (4 of them) on my account and I called to question them about it because according to the on-line account there was money in the account.

When I called the bank to talk with them about it, the first person pushed me off to someone else since she was already helping someone and this person was very abrupt and rude when trying to address this problem.

He tried to explain to me that the overcharges occur because of a transaction after 9 pm on the fourteen of december, even though my account balance showing on line was sufficient to cover the amount I purchased. I had a direct deposit that went in the morning of the next day, yet the overdraft charges were posted for the 16th of december. When I brought this to his attention, he said they were pending on the fourtenth. If that is the case, why didn't they show up on my account as such.

They have a sign that says all transaction after 3p will be posted to the next day, yet when I asked him about that he said it only applied to only in-bank transactions. Is this not falsely misleading the public.

Also, if the charges that I am being charged overdrafts for are listed on the 16th how can they legally charge me overdrafts saying they were cleared on the 14th? What kind of business are they running.

I will be pulling my business from there and looking else where. This is some scam they got running.

Unfortunately after several incidents and several hundred dollars of overdraft fees, I have figured out US Bank's strategy of misleading their customers in order to collect an ungodly amount of fees. I recently deposited a $400 check into our account due to the fact that the same problem I'm about to report occurred and we were charged over $300 in overdraft fees. So, after depositing the $400, I went online and noticed that at the top of the online statement, there was a note indicating that $300 was being held pending clearance of the deposited check.

HOWEVER, approximately 24-48 hours later, that note disappeared and my Available Balance was showing about $196. Additionally my husband called to check the Available Balance and was also given the $196 figure. Naturally, one would assume that Available Balance would mean those funds are available for use, and by their own definition listed on the website, 'This balance lists the funds in your account that are available for withdrawal. This is the Account Balance minus deposited funds being held or check card authorizations outstanding.' Note it says MINUS deposited funds being held. This actually is not the case - when I clicked on the blue hyper-link provided on the online statement, I was shown that the $300 is still considered unavailable funds and our Available Balance is actually negative $103.

If we didn't have access to the Internet in order to find that out, and went solely on the information given when my husband called in to check our balance, we would have been charged overdraft fees on any purchases we made. That is how we got all the overdraft fees to begin with - another deposit was made previously and because the Available Balance showed the entire deposit was available, we were naive enough to believe it and spent money that apparently wasn't really available... even though they told us it was.

This practice is unconscionable, underhanded and downright dishonest. Why list funds as available when they aren't? Overdraft fees... period. In the meantime, because those funds aren't available yet and we're still in a negative balance, I actually had to borrow some of my daughter's birthday money in order to get some gas and groceries! We live paycheck-to-paycheck and the bank is slowly milking us to the point of having to borrow money from my father and my 11-year old daughter just to get by.

I would be interested to hear comments or other incidents of this occurring.

5 years ago I had a checking account with US Bank. I had a couple of checks bounce because of a fraudulent charge that was posted to my account. The bank determined that it was fraud and credited my account the money back, which was around a hundred dollars. Mean while I accured a bounced check fee for each check that had bounced, including the one for the fraudulent charge. This added up to around $100.00. I asked the bank if they were going to remove those charges as well, because they were caused as a result of the fraud. They said No, and would not even remove the one overdraft fee that was a direct result of the fraud.

I closed the account because I felt that this was not right and refused to pay the balance. It finally got sent to the first creditor and they said that I owned $691.00! They said that it was because USBank was charging $8.00 per day, each day the account was overdrawn. This was news to me, and I at no time remember that being explained to me during the time I signed up for the account, because I know I would have walked out on the spot, that's just crazy.

It got sent to creditor after creditor and I would tell them the story and let them know that I was refusing to pay it. This may not have been the smartest thing to do, but all the same that's what I did. That was until yesterday morning when I received a call from a 'law office, informing me that I owed them $2, 690.00! For A Bounded Check! They said the other fees were interest and 'other fees'. What Ever that meant. I explained it to them again - to no avail, but they did say that they spoke with the bank and could offer $1, 200.00, I finally, after fighting with them got it down to the $691.00. that it was originally. Albiet it was only about $100.00, to begin with. I paid half and am scheduled for another half in January.

The only reason I paid this was because they said that I could not take it to court. That they would freeze my current account, take out any money they could to pay towards the 2, 690.00 balance, and if they needed more they would attach my wages.

This seems wrong on so many levels, 1st the bank, but then the 'law office' doing the collection. It's just wrong, and I wounder how either one can get away with it, it's wrong.

We got a statement at the end of may that said we were overdrawn by $81. I deposited a couple of misc. checks I have received for refunds and such, and thought that it at least cut it in half, and we could pay the rest off in a few days. I get another statement in the mail - and it is up to $257+ dollars that we are in the hole! We don't even use this account for anything. I look at the statement, and it is nothing but $8 fee added each and everyday that we were overdrawn that $40. We were never told that when we opened the account that this was something that would happen if we were overdrawn.

There is no way we can pay that off now! We live paycheck by paycheck, and just barely make our bills, now this bank is charging us each day it is overdrawn! I wonder who else this has happened to. We won't ever pay this because it is outrageous and, i would believe - it should be illegal! No other bank I know of does this. It's a wonder this bank stays in operation. Has anyone ever sued this bank and won? I wonder. Who ever reads this, do not - for any reason - get any type of account at US Bank. They are the biggest 'legal' scam there is!

US Bank charges $37.50 for every check paid (or returned) as an overdraft fee. I talked with them on the phone to complain and they said this is what it costs them to process the check or payment. It is done automatically by computer so I think I want to be a computer since I don't have to think and will get paid enormous amounts of money. When I complained that I have made a deposit on the same that that they charged me an overdraft fee, I was told that deposits are posted after 5:00 pm and only $100 is made available until final posting at midnight. Any check/debit that comes in before midnight will be charged an overdraft if there is not enough available in the account to pay it. So if you deposit $1, 000, only $100 is available until midnight. If a check/debit come in before midnight for $300, they will pay it but charge an overdraft fee based soley on the funds AVAILABLE in your account. If you deposit cash OR have an electronic deposit, the money 'may' be posted immediately (or - it may not). I think this is criminal of them to 'pay' debits BEFORE a deposit is credited. They don't even explain this when using the internet banking system. They have such misleading and not understandable accounting that you just can't tel how much money you truly have in your account at any one time (by line item). In today's economy, this can be a lot of money, especially if they charge you 3 or 4 times in one day. Is this today's greedy and corrupt world of finance and banking? Or just another way the a bank to make a fortune off their loyal customers? RIP OFF!

About 3 months ago I started making a good deal of transactions between my bank, pay pal, and various other sources. A couple slight errors were made but were quickly fixed with a simple phone call, and a little conversation. The bigger problem started a month ago.

I had sent $45, to my pay pal, to purchase some items for resell. The money never went to pay pal, instead seemingly vanished. The same evening, I used my bank card for another online transaction for $8, and a second for $5. Over the next couple of days, the payments were authorizing, which I was used to when checking my online account. I also keep a bank record of my own, but I enjoy the convenience of knowing when my payments went through so that I can anticipate my packages arrival date.

About a week later, I had received no shipping confirmation, and emailed the companies I made my purchases from to make sure the order had not been canceled by mistake. Both companies informed me that they had not received the money from my bank, and thus assumed I had not sent payment yet.

I called the bank the next day, and they told me that they did not send the money. I was confused because it was taken out of my account which they clarified themselves. They said they would correct it and I was content for the moment.

I checked my account online again the next day, and noticed that I had been overdrawn, and couldn't understand why. I again called, and they explained they mistakenly took the money out of my account, and sent it again. Only they couldn't figure out where they put it, and it appeared that it had just been deleted. They said they would put the money back, send the original sum to the companies it needed to go to, and wave the overdraft fee. Fair enough, I let the bank do their job, and hoped for the best.

I received an email from one of the companies a few days later, stating they still had not received payment. Once again I made a call to the bank, this time I received the same amount of help I would have gotten from from a fallen tree gathering moss. I asked her if the funds could be put back into my account, since it was never sent to the destination at hand, and simply taken out of my account. She told me no, and I quote 'we do not make practices of reimbursing funds, and it is not our affair.'

I went to the main branch to close out my account, with a little over $7 in it, since they did not put all the money back that they said they would. They then informed me that they had frozen my account, and I could still close it out for a fee of $25, plus the overdraft fees, that 'THEY' caused.

So now I have paid twice for things I will never get, and no one is the wiser of exactly where the money ended up, and I have a bank account that I can't use.

My employer had issues with direct depositing my paycheck (this was the first time in 1.5 years) so I had a check which I deposited in my account on Feb 12th. This posted to my account on Feb 13th. Well I made a pin based transaction at 12:07am on Feb 14th. I checked my account throughout the weekend and all was okay.

On the 17th I had an overdraft charge of $37.50 so I called their 800 number and got a woman on the phone who could never tell my why my available balance was less than it should have been and she was very rude and would have been fired if she worked for me. I decided at this time that I was going to close my account down. I then called back and got a gentleman (who was much more pleasant than the first lady) and he told me that the reason that I had an overdraft was because of the transaction that had occurred on Saturday morning.

Not understanding why they would charge me for a Saturday transaction when my check cleared on Friday I tried to get it from him and his response was that I had already called and spoken with somebody about this and that they had put a note on the account that it couldn't be removed so there was nothing that he could do.

I need to get this out in the open about how US bank is ripping off hard working people like me. I have been a US bank customer about 12 years and they have ripped me off for the last time. Last Thursday I checked my account online for the balance and it showed $-7.00 dollars because of three transaction from earlier in the week so on Friday I went into the bank and deposited $20.00 to stay current.

While in the bank I asked the teller if I would be okay and not get any overdraft fees and she stated that my account was not charge yet for the $-7.00 or for the three other transactions and I would be fine because I deposited $20.00 dollars and I had a balance of $13.00 that would cover the three transactions showing.

I then checked my online account saturday and there was two more charges from earlier in the week, I ran to the bank and deposited $110 check and then $170.00 cash by the ATM. My account showed the deposits and it looked like I was in the positive but it already showed three overdraft fees of $35.00 each. On Monday I looked at my account and it showed two more overdraft fee of $35.00 even with the deposits. Then came Tuesday and I was charged two more overdrafts of $37.50 plus a negative change of $24.00 total ripp off of $274.00.

I am going to my credit union because when you use your debit card the money comes out of your account immediate not four days later. Stay away from US bank they are scheming on hard working people who live paycheck to paycheck.
