I have seen a lot of complaints about UPS and I have no doubt in my mind that they are correct. I work for UPS. They are the most self-centered, dishonest and discriminatory company as far as I know. As with lot of companies, the phrase “who you know is who you blow” applies here too. Having the unpleasant experience of being in the “pool” for part-time management promotion, it seems that all the candidates that are hired are young, inexperienced and should we say... less intelligent. And these people are managing the real people who are handling your packages and making the money for the upper management who decides where it is wasted... upper management of course!

It is funny to see when they are pinching minutes from the occupational (i.e. hourly employees) in order to save money and shoveling it to the management. But hey, that’s free enterprise procedure.

After having the experience of several years at UPS, they have literally liquidated my loyalty. I use to be loyal to UPS and do my job to the best, but today work is still done to the best, but the loyalty is gone. And this is due to the discriminatory and dishonest way of dealing with people. I got screwed in the process and I’m sure there are more to count. If I may say something that UPS did right, was the color they chose. It is brown, and it reflects the color of ###. BIG ###.

The troubles at UPS are endless. Employee turnover is horrible and since they are treating the people as they are, word gets around and eventually you run out of employees. But that is something that they are not concerned. Also, UPS wants to be the “safety organization of the world” but anything that is unsafe is usually ignored and even if acknowledged, it takes forever to fix it. So when you say UPS, might as well say “ooops...” .

So for all the people out there, you are NOT stuck with UPS. Use FedEx, USPS (United States Postal Services) or DHL. I was actually shocked to find out that FedEx “ground” is CHEAPER than UPS after they bought out a low cost package carrier. FedEx is more reliable in my mind and I cannot remember having complaint about them. Postal services have more alternatives than ever before and you can always check DHL references on-line. I am personally applying a job at DHL just for the challenge. I know that I can contribute to them or any other company more than I can to UPS. Knowledge increases the pain they say, and now I know what they meant by that. So please be noted that I do not like UPS just for the reason that I do know the truth.

Peace, Upser.

UPS disgusts me! I had 3 packages that were sent from San Francisco to Seattle for a trade show on 8/10. They were shipped overnight picked up on Friday and supposed to be delivered Monday. Finally 2 of the 3 arrived on WEDNESDAY. UPS really did not give a crap about it or the missing box. A WEEK Later still no box! I already left Seattle for NJ and it has to be delivered today to make it in time for the NY tradeshow beginning on 8/19. THEY SIMPLY DO NOT CARE! It was delivered to Seattle on 8/17 and then needed to be sent overnight for Saturday delivery to my home. Now they say there is a package interruption for NO REASON. NEVER NEVER USE UPS. They are pathetic.
And if they say they will call you back...do not believe them.
Now on to my tradeshow without my samples.

I need help with a problem with UPS. I shipped a classic car radio with 1, 000 dollar worth of insurance. When the radio arrived at the shop, one of the controls was broken off, and the other was pushed in. When I complained to the UPS office I shipped it from they asked for the radio and box I shipped it with. So they picked it up from the shop I sent it to, and notified me after two weeks to get a estimate for repair, and they would take care of it. Well now the radio is fixed, but they are refusing to pay the bill for 945.15. What can I do next? My email address is jdstone@solarus.net. They didn`t give me a reason for why they aren`t going to pay. HELP.

It is pretty sad when the government agency (USPS) is easier to work with than the private entities (UPS and FEDEX). They have dominated the market for so long, they forget that they are in the CUSTOMER service industry and not in the SELF service industry. They can never deliver when I am home, so I cringe when I see that brown and yellow label on my door. 9 times out of 10 I have to drive to their out-of-the-way shipping center. I don't know why they think that if you are not home between 10 and 2 on Tuesday that you will be on Thursday. We have called to complain, but their managers have a "that's just the way it is" attitude and are completely unhelpful. I can see where they may be okay for businesses who always have someone at a desk to sign for packages, but they SUCK for personal shipping. I can't help receiving packages through UPS (though I am now putting out the plea to my friends and family to stop using them), but I will never use them to ship a package.

UPS is a ### organization. When your job is to deliver packages on time and you can't or won't do that, and then say that you tried when you didn't, that's straight up robbery. If you pay for overnight and your package comes two or three days later and they won't reimburse you for the fee they charged you for overnight, that's thievery. It's time to show those ###s that they are not the only delivery service out there, and there are better ones at that. UPS stands for Un-Professional [censored]heads.

I've had merry maids for about a month or so. First time was great the second time was ok and the third time was horrible they got everything clean but I have this limited edition model car and some action figures on my shelf that I try to keep all the small parts with so I don't loose them. Well I came to inspect the job in my room after they had left and the model car was hoisted up on its little spare parts box with the license plate on the front loose my action figures parts where scattered and a toy car I had since I was 13 had the bumper almost falling off. And to make matters worse one of them farted in my room. I was so angry the owner seemed like a great guy but still I have to pay $55.00 for my stuff being scattered and almost demolished and the one model car is $200 retail. I mean come on in gonna pay you to wreck my valuable stuff really?.

I have years of experience with delivery at the state highway, packages dumped within clear sight of the house. I put up with the behavior for years, then began asking vendors if they could use any other shipper but UPS. Some were in contract with UPS and I did not order from them. In March 2010 my sister moved home and her orders by UPS were dumped at the highway. She died in November 2011. In the months following I ordered using UPS again. FOR 1 MONTH, they delivered to the door. Yesterday the dog barked, when I looked, a big white box was at the highway! Do not know how long it had been there but the dog alerted me or it would have stayed at the highway over night. I have complained to UPS for years. Now I have called the attorney general who is sending forms for all the retired old ladies in Clay County WV here who have put up with this behavior for years fearing retribution if we complained. This may take some time but I must get to the two county newspapers asking if they will headline UPS and help me get people rounded up.

UPS again! They again made a mistake in the delivery of my new Ipad supposed to be delivered in Phoenix, but they sent it to Iowa instead. so I will receive it 3 days late on the March 19 instead of the March 16 as promised by Apple. I think that if they want to continue doing business with the best company in the world Apple, they should rearrange their delivery system. I am very frustrated with their services, Steve Jobs would have never accepted those mistakes in his company.

UPS is the worst company for delivery. The drivers are always in a hurry and causes accidents. I actually seen one driver in Memphis ran a woman off the road and never stopped to see if she was okay. This guy looked out his rear and kept going. Every place I have been in the US the drivers are the same. They care about no one on the road! To add, the other service workers are very rude when you speak with them. They hang up the phone in your face when you question the whereabouts of your packages. This is so sad. Those brown-### trucks are nothing but trouble. The way to go is with the United states Postal Service or FedEX. I hate UPS, they suck bad!

United Parcel Service - UPS is known as the big brown giant. Too big to care about their smaller businesses and customers. They have conscientiously decided to neglect smaller customers and the general public. That is why FedEx handles more domestic, ground packages than UPS. UPS doesn't believe in going the extra mile and as stated in other post, your package and mine simply doesn't matter. Simply put, they don't give a Da..

UPS needs to screen their delivery men and women or workers..

I am stationed here in El Paso and I ordered a sword for my son from My Line age. This sword was ordered on april 2011 and for my son's Christmas gift. I was on leave during Christmas, when I made a follow up with the company they told me it was delivered by UPS so I made a tracking and to find out the UPS atempted to deliver on Dec. 27, 2011 and will make a secnd attemp. Until now they can't locate my item worth $941.00 plus and no know knows who was stealing it. I attempted to ask what had ahappend, the damn UPS representative will say I can't give you an answer just call the company you had your order...Wow..is this for real? I big business company like UPS with bunch of crooks working in the office? I know the company will reimburse me for sure with the money but the trust from the public. I want to say this to the CEO in this company, Please don't let your company go down just for these crooks working inside. I don't know if I will still trust this company. My Sword is wondering here in El Paso with my sons name on it, with my family Crest...

Worst delivery company I have ever dealt with besides Fed-ex. They have delivered my package to the wrong address on several occasions. They have mistaken my address numbers with the same numbers on a different street. Then this same driver will continue his route up my street and drop packages off to my surrounding neighbors with the same street address as mine however, when it comes to my address he must have a brain fart and thinks it belongs on a different street. I have tried contacting the ring master of this circus about this problem, they inform me that they are looking into it and will call me back in 1 hr. Needless to say this works like their delivery system. Maybe the government run Postal Service is not so bad after all.

Here is what UPS put my Family through

My husband works for UPS at the Glasgow depot on Monday morning he was called into the office by Paul Mooney regarding his American Express card, after that meeting Paul Mooney suspended him on full pay he didn’t give him a reason for the suspension he just said that due to what we have spoken about today I need to suspend you until we carry out investigation, when Paul arrived home he phone Beth Craddock in HR to ask for the minutes of that meeting and the letter. Later that day my husband received that email with a comment saying further documentation to follow, the following day he received another email from Beth Craddock with documents attached and to my horror when he opened it….. there is a picture of my kids and a private personal chat I had with a member of a forum I used to use dated 1st April 2008 at 17:53.
Now first thing why has Paul Mooney or any other member of your organisation have a detailed picture of my kids, when I phone Mr Mooney for him to explain his actions all I got from him was a extremely cocky attitude from him saying that it was relevant to the investigation I am sorry but why is this relevant to my husband because at that time he was my boyfriend and stayed at his mother’s house in Greenock and also never had a American Express card at that time with your company now in the meeting Paul Mooney mentioned fraud twice but in the letter my husband got its says misuse of card for personal use. So I want to know why Mr Mooney or any other UPS management investigated me? I do not work UPS and certainly neither does my kids. What gives him the right to be in POSSESSION of a picture of my kids as I certainly did not give him permission and how many copies of this picture are floating around UPS either on paper or worse on company laptops or desktop computers.
Secondly the conversation that came with email regarding myself and a fellow member of a forum (SEE ATTACMENT) according to Mr Mooney this is relevant, tell me where a conversation clearly dated 1st April 2008 were I am having a private chat and when I say private I mean no other members can see this conversations regarding myself talking about jewellery I wanted to buy for I wedding I was attending in May 2008 and also tell me where on that conversation does it say that Paul Hastie was my partner, this has no relevance what so ever to do with UPS nor my husband’s suspension.
Paul Mooney has pushed the boundaries too far and I think that what he has done must have broken your own organisations CODE OF POLICY & PROCEDURE(‘the code’) and maybe data protection act or even a blatant breech of my children’s right to privacy along with my right to privacy, I feel violated and physically sick that Mr Mooney and UPS have a picture of my kids, how do I know Paul Mooney has not and will not distribute that picture to vile members of the public? or will not fall into the wrong hands i.e. remember the laptop that went missing or stolen with employees personal data on it. Like I said I feel violated and physically sick this should never have been allowed to happen and I am now wondering what other parts of my personal life and my kids life’s UPS have spied on.
I hope these strong and very serious issues will be taken seriously by the company that my husband has dedicated 17 years of his adult life to and that you will consider suspending Paul Mooney until this investigation is being carried out, after all it’s a very serious matter and one that I am obtaining legal advice through my husband’s Unite the Union membership, this whole witch hunt yes that’s right witch hunt is not only sole destroying but devastating to my family as my two kids as this has been very stressful for them because they see their parents so upset and asking questions to why dad’s work has photo of them. When I talk about witch hunt I mean this all started off as a personal one against my husband because he has stood up to the BULLIES in UPS and when the bully boy tactics failed they have now involved the rest of my family.
Paul Mooney, Brian Begbie and no doubt a few others in the UPS organisation are determined to get my husband out as he has two on going claims, one is for accident which UPS has offered to settle on and because he has refused to settle the big men at the top are saying how dare he bite the hand that feeds him, the other is tribunal for lead driver which Roger Mayes has still not giving the answer to since the 24th of May this year now correct me if I am wrong should this not have been dealt with a lot sooner according to your company policy. Like I said they are determined to push my husband out of a company he has been very loyal to and miss family weekends to work for UPS and they will do it by any means weather it’s with pushing Paul that he says I have had enough and walks or going to do it by whatever means possible to sack Paul but they have over stepped the mark when they have involved kids an myself in their stupid games, I expect this to be dealt with properly and quickly and if they think I’m going to sit back and do nothing then they can think again.
This has been a blatant breech of my right to privacy and someone is going to be held responsible for it.

Wow what [censored]bags at UPS. Here is my story for ya. I ordered some product and the shipper used the wrong address, which they quickly corrected.
10/12/2011 6:39 A.M. The shipper has requested a Delivery Intercept for this package. / Deliver to Another Address. So there was a change of address on 10/12.
Phoenix, AZ, United States 10/14/2011 9:54 P.M. Arrival Scan So hey one would think it would be delivered soon... NOPE, any other company it would have..
Tempe, AZ, United States 10/15/2011 2:17 A.M. Arrival Scan HUH? I live in Phoenix why go to Tempe?
10/17/2011 7:54 A.M. The Delivery Intercept request for this package was successfully completed. / The address has been corrected. The delivery has been rescheduled. And five days after the delivery change request (see above) they are able to sit down at a computer and make the change in their system.
Tempe, AZ, United States 10/17/2011 10:28 A.M. An exception in the sorting process has occurred. UPS has taken corrective action. And the [censored]bags now have an exception and need to send it back to Phoenix so it can get delivered properly. Way to go UPS guess you can raise your rates now since you move things around more than they need to.

Why did you wait 4 weeks? You put the wrong zip, UPS delivered to the address you put. They charge to retrieve because it was YOUR mistake. Was the package insure? Over the standard minimum, I mean. File an insurance claim. But don't expect UPS to run around, make calls, etc. for free when the error was admittedly yours.

I'm not surprised by this post! I will beg companies I order items from to ship any method other than UPS. Strapping the package to the back of a cow and giving it a shove in the general direction seems like a better alternative at times. I have had UPS agents lie TWICE about attempting to deliver or delivering packages to my home. I have talked to UPS customer service reps on the phone that are just plain stupid. The fact that their employees are mistreated doesn't surprise me -- this is the kind of service you get when your employees are unhappy. I have no doubt that there are those that do their jobs with integrity despite the poor working conditions, I just wish more of them worked in my area.

I am so fed up with UPS. There is always something going wrong when they try to deliver a package to me. Just recently, I ordered something and UPS was in charge of delivering. The package was marked a refused for delivery and to be sent back to the sender. How on earth this happened when I wasn't home all day to receive the package is beyond me. Yes, I live in an apartment building, and yes my neighbor may have went to the door, but for pete's sake, does the driver not know how to confirm if the person at the door is actually the person listed on the package? Such incompetence. So I call UPS the night of, and a CSR tells me that she will send notes to the DC and they will get back to me in the morning and that the package was only marked for return, but not actually going anywhere. GUESS WHAT? Wake up the next morning before the scheduled time for the DC to call me and the package progress says the package was already back in another state, on a truck, being delivered back to the sender. Called customer service again and this time the rep tells me that the rep from the previous night should not have made any promises to me. Really? You won't try to fix a problem that occurred because of YOUR mistake? Proceeds to tell me my only options are to wait for the DC to call me and see if they can make arrangements with the sender to get that package re-sent to me. The manager from the DC calls me and apologizes and tells me that because its already back in another state, on a truck for delivery, there's nothing he can do and that I would have to discuss my options with the sender. Absolutely ridiculous. At the very least, he promised me that he would get this to the field support team to make sure the sender was credited back for the shipment and that he would get someone to review the route and discuss with the driver regarding what happened. I'm just glad that the website where I ordered my package from was very courteous and understanding and immediately shipped me out another package, free of charge.

I am so fed up with UPS. I can't comprehend why they cannot get a package delivered properly to the right person at the right address. And its ridiculous that sometimes I don't get my packages until 6 or 7 pm. Never have I had this problem with FedEx, who always manages to get my packages to me on time, if not a day early. And FedEx always checks that the person who comes to the door is the person on the package. I wish all the companies I do business with could just switch over to FedEx or the USPS.

You cannot order books from UPS. UPS is a shipping company.

Your complaint is with the seller you bought the book from.

If you paid the seller for two day shipping, they probably did not take it to UPS last week.

Contact the place you bought the book from and demand the UPS TRACKING number. That number will tell you when they actually took the package to UPS.

No UPS complaint here.

You live in an old appartment building and the directory listing is not kept up to date.

The delivery person went through the directory and decided this was the wrong address (which was confirmed more than three times), because the directory listing is not kept up to date. Three times UPS tried to deliver the package.

Three times you wasted their time.

How hard is it for you to write your address on a piece of tape and update the directory?

My package wound up in Alberta instead of Ontario, wrong postal code shippers end,
My item was shipped on the 16 of May, and was told 2 to 4 days for delivery with UPS
Standard shipping... so much for that. (we only look at the postal code according to
customer reps) address on label clearly says "Hamilton Ontario" which one glance at
would of showed them it was going in the wrong direction. Notified UPS of this on May
28, when I see this on the tracking website and again on May 30 because it hadn't
moved since the first time I talked to them because they say where it wound up the
the street did not exsist, yet, on the website it says delivered, and signed for, very
interesting!

Talked to them today, (June 2nd) "just wait" is all i get for a response, should be able
to have it to me by the 6th of June. I was informed that they had no data indicating
I had placed a call previous to try and get this straightened out. They have charged me
$50.00 shipping on a $70.00 item and have no idea why it is still sitting there instead
of on its way here. But they DO KNOW, that IF AND WHEN they do get it here, they
will be wanting $35.00 more upon delivery.HMMMM DIDN'T FORGET TO TELL ME THAT
(Brokerage fees, item from states) A $50.00 dollar shipping fee is more then a little
high, for an item which weighs 4 lbs. when they can't get it where it should be on time.
I have ordered and had in my possession items from the U.S. much quicker just using
U.S.P.S. and considerably cheaper.

Jenny id# MNL4JPR (customer rep) and Alvin id# MNL6ALG (supervisor) are without
doubt two of the worst customer rep people I have ever dealt with, and the one question
I had, they have absolutely no reply too accept, be patient, we will work this out.
(Alvin tells me that they are located in Asia, do they even have a idea of how close this
item was to me originally?) I will make sure my customers, and people I deal with on a
daily basis know this.

Whatever happened to the customer is always right? I know that if most company's
ran there businesses as UPS does, they wouldn't be around long. I know what we do
when there is problems like this at our shop! We do everything we can to make it
right, many times eating some of the cost involved to keep a happy customer.

I will NEVER again use UPS and plan to submit my review of their performance to
every website I can think of. And UPS, if your company manages to survive, and not
go under providing this type of service, you's really should consider a name change,
perhaps...

UPS is clearly not customer friendly. I encourage to you use another delivery service. I recently paid to have a gift sent 2 day UPS. We this delivery, I was guaranteed to have the item even a couple of days in advance. The first day they tried to deliver, no one was home to sign, but a notice was left. According to the notice someone, it looked like the driver checked that someone would have to be home to sign for in person. I was unsure, so went to their website. The website indicated a signature was required, but did not indicate that a person would have to be present. Needless, I had someone here in the designated timeframe. UPS did not show up. I could not wait any longer, so I signed the notice and attached a handwritten note indicating that I really needed this gift for the weekend and signed the note. Of course, the driver came 1 hour and 20 minutes late. He would not accept my note. When I called customer service, they offered nothing! I finally asked how they would compensate me for the 2 day UPS delivery and told to take it up with the seller! Then, when I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was put on hold so long, I finally hung up. They had my telephone number, but I knew that they would not even bother to call. THIS COMPANY IS CLEARLY CUSTOMER 'NO' SERVICE. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

UPS does not stand behind their published rate schedule.
I got the price for a package from their website and went down to my local authorized shipper, The Albany Box Company, in Albany OR. The published cost was $5.17 and I was charged $10.45, over double. When I complained to UPS they said they could not discuss the price since someone else had paid for it. Well Duh. Obviously, as happens at all authorized shipping locations I did not pay UPS directly, but I did pay for the shipping. I have a receipt and tracking number to prove it. It is just a way for UPS to avoid taking responsibility for what they publish on their web site.

Don't trust the prices on their site, authorized UPS shippers can and do charge double..

You said you paid extra for expedited delivery. How did the person you paid ship it? The tracking number will tell how it was shipped.

UPS ground is not expedited. It is standard delivery. If you paid for expedited and got standard, your complaint is with the person who shipped it, not UPS.

According to UPS and based upon the type of service your shipper selected, the shipper has requested that you contact them directly regarding any delivery or service issues.

What are the exact dimensions and weight of this oversize item? You have to round it out to the next highest inch and pound when measuring. If you are cutting down the boxes to make them smaller, you are removing protection for the item inside. That might explain why so much breakage.
UPS bills by Actual Weight, Dimensional Weight, or Billable Weight depending on what and how you are shipping.

Sorry for calling a woman "fat"! I was just really mad at the point of writing.
Anyway, for the size, I know that the manufacturer is intentionally making it so that it does not become oversize. They know that it is a big factor for retailers like Amazon who will have to eat the oversize cost and make the deal unattractive. The account manager actually came to my office to measure the size a few times and he promised he'll take care of it, which apparently just talking. To cope with this crazy oversize charges, I had to cut down the box so that the dimension is around 121 to 123 but they still got charged oversize! How could that be possible?!
The box that manufacturer uses is much sturdier than the ones selling out there. Not only double wall 275lbs test but also has print and a layer of nylon mask to make it much stronger. Yet, UPS find a way to break it.
