I have seen a lot of complaints about UPS and I have no doubt in my mind that they are correct. I work for UPS. They are the most self-centered, dishonest and discriminatory company as far as I know. As with lot of companies, the phrase “who you know is who you blow” applies here too. Having the unpleasant experience of being in the “pool” for part-time management promotion, it seems that all the candidates that are hired are young, inexperienced and should we say... less intelligent. And these people are managing the real people who are handling your packages and making the money for the upper management who decides where it is wasted... upper management of course!

It is funny to see when they are pinching minutes from the occupational (i.e. hourly employees) in order to save money and shoveling it to the management. But hey, that’s free enterprise procedure.

After having the experience of several years at UPS, they have literally liquidated my loyalty. I use to be loyal to UPS and do my job to the best, but today work is still done to the best, but the loyalty is gone. And this is due to the discriminatory and dishonest way of dealing with people. I got screwed in the process and I’m sure there are more to count. If I may say something that UPS did right, was the color they chose. It is brown, and it reflects the color of ###. BIG ###.

The troubles at UPS are endless. Employee turnover is horrible and since they are treating the people as they are, word gets around and eventually you run out of employees. But that is something that they are not concerned. Also, UPS wants to be the “safety organization of the world” but anything that is unsafe is usually ignored and even if acknowledged, it takes forever to fix it. So when you say UPS, might as well say “ooops...” .

So for all the people out there, you are NOT stuck with UPS. Use FedEx, USPS (United States Postal Services) or DHL. I was actually shocked to find out that FedEx “ground” is CHEAPER than UPS after they bought out a low cost package carrier. FedEx is more reliable in my mind and I cannot remember having complaint about them. Postal services have more alternatives than ever before and you can always check DHL references on-line. I am personally applying a job at DHL just for the challenge. I know that I can contribute to them or any other company more than I can to UPS. Knowledge increases the pain they say, and now I know what they meant by that. So please be noted that I do not like UPS just for the reason that I do know the truth.

Peace, Upser.

Moments ago i was in the shower when I heard someone beating my back door down. My wife ran to till me what had happened. I got out of the shower and opened the door only to see the ups man getting back in his truck.

This is the second time that a situation like this has occurred, the first being a ups man jiggling my door handle without knocking.

I ordered a package last week from UPS. I paid for two day shipping. I understand it not arriving over the weekend, but not arriving on Monday like it was supposed to set me back and has inconvinienced me. The package was a book worth nearly $50 that I need for my class. Now I won't be able to turn in an assignment because my professor doesn't accept late work, and it will affect my overall grade. And it's UPS' fault.

The Shedule delivery did not take place seemingly because of adverse weather however their Depot is only 3.5 miles from my house and all the roads have been cleared. I have not been advised of a revised delivery date. Their customer service is extremely poor and frustrating. I have lost confidence in their ability to deliver within the agreed times and will never use this service again or buy products from suppliers who use them as a courier.

UPS shipped a package that I did not designate as a required signature as it was a ebay confirmed address...they returned as they said there was 3 delivery attempts and no signature.

They returned to me (no signature at my end!) and then told me that they will not reship at no charge!

So many of my deliveries are sent to the wrong house, my neighbors 3 homes up the street have to drag my packages down to me, then there are packages that claim they were delivered but probably to a not so honest neighbor. My mailbox is clearly marked and my front door. How do I find out how to stop these careless postal drivers. I"m scared to order anything else online, in fear I won"t receive my goods. Any info. would be appreciated.

I worked at UPS now for about five months. Things stared to get slow. So they put me on-call. Now, I oncall, dont they call you when needed? That is what i thought. I was looking threw job finders and found my job!?!?!? I like to know how i could be on call, and not get called to fill my own shoes?!?!? I never got a call to even say they where not taking me back!

I spend approximately $50-75, 000 with UPS each year. We have encountered numerous problems in guaranteed delivery and claims for refund due to failure are always denied. Over the past several years, UPS has become deceptive and unethical in the processing of legitimate claims. I recently had a parcel completely flattened, and was told that the packaging was insufficient.

$300 worth of insurance was purchased from UPS to deliver my laptop computer. When I received the laptop it no longer worked. UPS denied the insurance claim that was purchased in good faith. Reason given was "insufficient packaging". Yet, an employee of Ace Hardware who is a representative of UPS packaged the laptop.

UPS DELIVERED MY PACKAGE TO SOMEONE WHO DID NOT LIVE AT MY HOUSE OR A NEIGHBOR, BUT HAD A PERSON SIGN FOR THE PACKAGE WHO HAS NO ASSOCIATION WITH MYSELF OR ANY OF MY NEIGHBORS, A COMPLETE STRANGER WAS ABLE TO SIGN FOR MY PACKAGE. INSTEAD OF RESOLVING THE SITUATION AND ACCEPTING ACCOUNTABILITY, UPS DID NOT CARE ABOUT MY COMPLAINT AND LISTEN TO WHAT I WANTED THEY IGNORED ME AND 2 MONTHS LATER I STILL HAVE NO REFUND OR PACKAGE.

3 Day Selection - Don't choose this option when using UPS - 3 days means 3 business days! Next time I'll know not to choose this - wish someone had told me then perhaps Christmas would not have been late.

I waited the whole day for delivery but got nothing. At night, when I went out, I found a tip at the door, I began to know that UPS deliver my packet to the wrong apartment. It was Friday, so I had to wait for the delivery until the next Monday!

Since Feb 2008, the service seems to have disintegrated. About half the shipments to my home have been delayed do to rerouting (UPS too the package to the wrong UPS facility) or UPS left a package behind at a UPS facility. Whereas this used to happen maybe once in every hundred shipments, it's been happening one in every two or three shipments.

Tired of delivery person for UPS (Tim Berger) throwing packages on our porch or yard. In past 2 weeks I have observed him throwing packages three times. That's not counting pa packages thrown in yard before. Why can't he blow horn or knock on door...

Very simple...UPS screwed up 8 VERY IMPORTANT packages. Would rather now pay triple the money for overnight shipping through another company. Not happy, not going to waste time writing this, as Im sure its just another complaint that the company will ignore and get away with. Jerks!

I can not believe that I had to pay $17.42 to ship a 6.0 lbs package using UPS. I was returning an item.

Charging for the size of the box is outrageous. Weight is weight. I am sure if it weighed 100 lbs. somehow that weight would feed into the cost also. Get with it UPS!

UPS CUSTOMER SERVICES REPRESENTATIVES ARE DOWNRIGHT USELESS LIARS! They seem to do everything to avoid servicing the customer.

I am a diabetic on insulin and absolutely needed my insulin pump delivered by Saturday as promised by UPS as I was going on vacation first thing Monday morning. My trip was delayed and my health compromised because UPS did not deliver my package by the day promised.

Below is a call log on this Saturday between UPS and I as well as the company that requested the shipment:

Time 1108 (37m UPS phone call) Tanisha - the apartment # was missing. I explained the address is not an apartment and provided the suite #100 which I had provided when the order was placed. She said she cannot have it shipped again until Monday. I explained I need it before then. She will have supervisor call back.

Time 1154 (1m UPS phone call) Nick - called right back and said the driver will be back between now and 1500. I asked if there was anything else I could provide to ensure the delivery will happen. She said no, they just needed the suite #.

Time 1544 (25m UPS phone call) Andrew - He started by asking for my apartment #. I explained I already spoke with someone & provided the suite # & provided the info from the above 2 calls. He said the center is closed until Monday. I asked to speak with a supervisor but he said they will just tell me the same thing. I insisted because I needed this package by Sunday. He said he would transfer me to a supervisor but I reached a voice mail & left a message.

Time 1844 (34m UPS phone call) Chanelle - I asked for the package to be delivery to be shipped to a different address. Medtronic would have to make that change. I asked to speak with a supervisor but she said they're only here Mon-Fri. I explained I've been told something different every time I've called & demanded to speak with a supervisor otherwise I would file a complaint with UPS, BBB, & start an online campaign to tell the WWW about this experience. She put me on hold. After holding she said her supervisor is not available now but can call back w/in an hour. I explained that earlier today a supervisor never called me back and asked why I should believe her now. She said a supervisor would call back w/in an hour. I asked if there was any chance it would take >1 hour to call me back. She said no, I will be called w/in an hour.

Time 1924 (39m Medtronic phone call) called Medtronic Kris - She called UPS to see if they can fwd the package to my vacation destination or hold for Monday morning. UPS will hold for Monday morning at 1800 N Main. ST. and I can pick up as early as 0730.

A UPS supervisor did not call back. Chanelle from UPS broke her promise. My overall results from these phone calls w/UPS this day was the customer service representatives do not have the sufficient knowledge of how to do their job by telling me they will have the package delivered nor do they have sufficient knowledge of their own department (some rep's say a supervisor will call back others say there is no supervisor on the weekend).

I will do anything I can to avoid using UPS shipping ever again mainly because of this experience. I have and will continue to tell anyone who asks me about shipping methods to avoid UPS at all costs.

I have not read all the complaints here but I assume anyone will be furious if this happens to you. My parcel arrived in New Zealand and passed customs then was shipped back to Hawaii then flown to Australia and arrived back to New Zealand and passed customs again. Parcel stayed in their depot for 2 days until I decided to call for its delivery date. I was surprised that I was being slapped a NZ$198 customs tax?! To make a long story short, i grudgingly agreed to pay the tax but said to myself never again to buy from an Ebay seller who uses UPS as their courie! Below is my parcel's tracking history:

Thank you for your article. UPS FRANCE, Europe is surprisingly appalling too. The service is really unreliable not to mention on the brink of dishonesty. I was surprised to read your article as I naively thought that it was maybe France 's approach to discredit an American Company. But maybe, there is more that meet the eyes, and it might not just be bad luck but a desired outcome when customers get such an untrustworthy service. I will definitely not deal with companies using UPS.

Nothing but problems with UPS. Their cross border brokerage fees are insane and they always lie about it being the government. No UPS, . the government charges tax. YOU charge the outrageous brokerage fee others charge $10 for.

They also misdeliver all the time. In fact, I've never gotten a UPS package on time and without problem. I tell merchants I dont want UPS. But they use them anyway and sure enough - problems. They have delivered my stuff to a house 3 blocks away leaving it on his driveway. They have lies many times about attempting delivery. They have falsified customs documents covering the shippers label with their own. They have delayed things with the message "We've left the package in our facility. This may cause at least one business day delay. / Delivery will be rescheduled." and then never ever delivered it or say they did yet no package and no UPS truck on security footage. One time the box stuck liek urine and I found out they had an animal on the truck. Just the other day a UPS truck was outside my house for 10 minutes and he had a child with him. He left without delivering and I got the We've left the package in our facility. This may cause at least one business day delay. / Delivery will be rescheduled. message on tracking.

To make matters worse the call center is anwered by people all over the the place usually the Philippines. They just aggravate people with nonsense questions and read back the tracking you can already see.

I had a driver compliant on day he doesn't like delivering to me because my street is to busy with traffic. I called UPS on that saying he never has to come back, in fact they can just refuse to deliver to me and tell merchants that before they ship. But UPS wont do that. I had another time I had a digital piano coming from Costco. The piano box was big and heavy. The headphnes with teh piano came in a small light box. They brought the small box but left the big box at the depot. Typical UPS. To heavy see ... forget it.

So now I tell merchants, if you use UPS it is highly likely I will have problems and have to claim a refund. I keep these warning emails and if they still want to use UPS and there is a problem ... I call VISA and show them the info. Lost packages become chargebacks. Dont lie to do this but thats the only way people pay attention.

UPS is the worst shipping company EVER. Never again will I do business with them. They have stood me up 3 business days now, after giving the status "Out for delivery" on my package that was originally supposed to be delivered to me last Thursday. It showed "out for delivery" again today, Monday, from 1.33 A.M and after 9:40p.m the status now changed to "We've left the package in our facility. This may cause at least one business day delay. / Delivery will be rescheduled." I'd have rather picked up my package from the shipping location had I known I'll have to wait over a week to get it from a distance of 150miles. This is unacceptable. I'd definitely not use UPS ever again and now will I let me family/friends to use them for any of their shipping needs. UPS is the biggest scam company in history.

We have snow on the ground. If the UPS person came to the door, there would be footprints. There are no footprints at all. For two of my packages on two consecutive days, the UPS person has not bothered to get out of his truck to deliver packages to my home, and he has falsified his reports to suggest that he did deliver to my home.

I created a UPS label from my UPS account, dropped my package into UPS drop box and it is lost. I called couple of times and issued a claim to UPS. They asked detail information in the package and also asked me to provide them the invoice of the items in the package. I gave them all information and document. Finally, I got their response that they are unable to honor my claim because the package in question was not listed on my UPS pick-up record.

They already knew that my package was dropped in UPS box and not from pick-up. Why they want me to provide so many information, document and waste lot of my time?

Does UPS need to put some sign on each UPS box to indicate that they don't take any responsibility if it is lost?

Only UPS people can get the package in the UPS box and obviously that all packages are not on shipper's pick-up list. UPS gives their employees a very good excuse if they steal packages from drop box and don't need to take any responsibility.

I have a bad experience from UPS!

I am fighting with UPS on insurance claim they have denied. I had UPS package & ship an item, that was destroyed. They continue to make excuses to denie claim. I have all my documents and photos of item before and after. They even erased my account history online attempting to screw me over on it. I'm now going thru the Better Business Bureau with the complaint. If UPS is trying to screw you over try doing this. The more complaints they have against them, the more likely to get your money back. I'll never use UPS again.
