U. of Phoenix (Apollo Group) is owned and run by Mormons. It was successfully sued for millions of dollars for discrimination against non-Mormons. The LDS "church" is known for purposefully hiding the fact that they own certain companies. Mormons are NOT Christians; they are a cult. They teach their followers that any other faith is evil and that non-Mormons are sinners. They teach HATE. They say people with dark skin are the descendants of Cain and have no souls. Mormons teach their female followers that they should not work outside the home; their "jobs" are to please their husbands have as many children as possible. The LDS church convinces its men that in the afterlife they will become the god and owner of their own planet and will have many, many wives. It's a made-up fake "religion" founded in the 1800s by a man named Joseph Smith, who was a con artist and crook. He died in a gun fight while serving time in jail. The Mormons tell their people that Smith was a martyr. He was a fraud. He wrote "doctrines" which he claimed were told to him by God himself. Those doctrines all contradict each other, but the LDS church reads them and follows them, ignoring the contradictions. Mormons are ALL about money and will lie, steal, cheat, or do whatever to make money. Stealing is a major past time. White collar crime is their specialty. Trust me. Stay far, far away from anything owned by Mormons. They own many banks, radio stations, schools, the Utah Jazz NBA team, La Quinta hotels, and even Priceline.com. If you don't believe me, do a little digging on the Internet. You just might find the proof.

I was enrolled at university of phoenix for a month. Red flags began to pop up almost immediately. The web site, 'classroom', was the biggest pain in the but, and organized terribly. The financial aid was an absolute joke. They promised 9500.00 in financial aid, and a 5350.00 pell grant, none of which was ever recieved. I had opted to manage my own funds by having all education money[loans, grants, ect] directly deposited into my savings account. This obviously made them mad. They called me 7 times and wanted me to opt for the school to manage my account funding. When I told them "no", that I was perfectly capable of managing my funds, and that my tuition was paid up to date, they then got mad and sent me a letter stating that either I sign the right to manage funding over to them, or they would just take them anyway without my consent . I contacted 3 different reps, and got 3 different answers. This school is nothing but a "student mill", literally accepting every person that applies, reguardless of their qualifications. The university of phoenix is only interested in ONE thing, MONEY. If you are looking to further your investigation, turn away from UOP, and run FAST!

I am also a victim of the scam of the university of phoenix on-line scam. i was told by my financial aid advisor of the university of phoenix that i would not be able to finish my course because i still owed them 3, 000.00 they said that a portion of the money will be returned to the department of education and that i would not be allowed to finish my last two classes unless i paid them three thousand dollars directly or made arrangements to pay them.this is a fraud and a scam. i will never agree to sign another promissory note for them to cheat the goverment oput of money. I would also like to be included in the lawsuit against them.

At the moment I am enrolled into UOP, but the funny thing about this whole thing is that classes have already started a I have not recieved my financial aid. Big deal in my eye's another thing is that they personally withdrew me out of one class because of attends, but all my homework was completed. So now they are withholding my funds until further notice. Is this even legal?

Similiar thing happened to me, I was busy traveling, and had only been handing in the assignments, and had two seven day periods without posting. I turned in all my work, and had already accepted the grade penalty, but was automatically withdrawn from the class. They gave me a week to pay 540 out of pocket to retake the course. I didn't have the money for two weeks, and so they said my loans were withdrawn and I owed the school 2800 for course that I wasn't even failing. The counselors said there was no appeal process and I was recieving collection notifications a few days later. I am debating how to handle the situation at the moment..Please provide feedback anyone that has any knowledge on the topic.

Is there anyone else who has been slow played in recieving their dispursement checks? They will tell you that it was cut on this day, then it was mailed on this day, but ten days later you still dont have a check. some of us have reduced our employment to part time in order to accommodate our learning needs, we depend on this money to make ends meet. I am convinced that the longer UOP holds these monies, the more intrest the get in thier own pocket.

I have had all the same complaints about UOP and no one seems to want to do anything about this. What should all the ripped off consumers do to make sure UOP dont take advantage of anymore vulnerable people who want an education. Something has got to stop this. There still doing now! Teachers failing because they didn’t agree with what I Wrote! I turned two assignments in one hour late and 0’s on those assignments, I explained prior to the professor I was fired, car repossessed, no internet and my check for unemployment gas’s been frozen for three months….I asked my neighbor if I could borrow his internet but he said only when they sleep because his kids have school and it’s slow when to many people on. I was late one hour! I asked the professor why? He texts me and says there’s a snow storm here in Texas I don’t have internet to change your grade, sorry! I was livid! Now I’m withdrawing, I wrote everyone and cc’d everyone to. Make sure I was on time for a full refund! They gave me a W and only $300 dollar refund! I withdrew day ! Terrible evil people and place!?!

The exact same thing happened to me! In 2007, after completing 1 course in the M.B.A. Program and begining my 2nd, I was faced with some personal issues which forced me to have to un-enroll in classes. Before I began in the program, they hounded me and called and constantly followed-up with me to ensure enrollment in the school. When I contacted my advisor, she continously either gave me the run-around when I requested the paperwork to un-enroll, or she just blatenly ignored my calls/emails. This really irritated me-because I was only 2 weeks into the class when I requested to drop the class and withdrawl from school, so I didn't understand if my grants/loans were forwarded back to the lenders, how in the world could I incur any additional costs and fees from the school when I was well within the drop/add deadline? After weeks of this circus, I began to recieve calls from the school threatening collections calls. I was working full-time, raising a family, and running a household, so I finally gave up and the debt went into collections. I now have a debt from UOP on my credit report for a class that I never attended! I was so disappointed and pissed off with the way that they handled business, that I decided to leave the school all together and pursued my graduate degree from a wonderful, reputable, historical university! I am happy to say that in December of 2010, I finished my Masters Degree in Bus Mgmt. Unfortunately, I met several other people who experienced similar treatment by the staff and faculty at the University of Phoenix. I would love to pursue this issue against UOP in the form of a class action law suit, with the hopes of simply reversing or refunding the monies that I was unfairly and fraudulently charged from the school! I hope this helps someone else who has experienced the same unjust and predatory treatment!

The exact similiar thing happened to me! I was sick and had to drop out to get well and my advisor would not un-enroll me. It was a 'lets see how it goes' and so on. I called several times and only twice did I get someone, once to her, which that was the reason I got. Then voicemail, voicemail, voicemail, AND then another girl who told me she was no long employed and was supposed to transfer me to someone who could help with again, no answer. Just waiting and waiting and waiting. I CANNOT BELIEVE this school is getting away with this. Not only am I pissed about being charged a bunch of fees that my student loans would not cover for a class I didnt attend for more than a week, I know it wasn't real long, but I am alos stuck with ten grand in student loans for nothing!

I want to find a lawyer. Not only for the fact that I was told countless times they were "Nationally Accredited", which was a lie. Even if I could get to my credits they are non-transferrable, but the fact that I could not get the help I needed when I needed it. I NEEDED to be un-enrolled. My only idea is these advisors must get some kind of a bonus, cause she didnt care about my needs, she only cared about me staying there. .. I see something seriously wrong with that.

Please call the State Attoney General where you live and also inform the director of the U of P School that you will begin making those calls. I am sure that they do not want bad PR for their school and you might start seeing results right away. Stay on they like white on rice.

I am experiencing the same thing with the UOP. Look on For Profit colleges. Watch the Senate meeting from Aug. 4, 2010. This will assure you they are scammers. The Federal Government went undercover and 15 out of 15 Colleges, including University of Phoenix were all found guilty. The have committed fraud against the Federal Government for $26 billion. They enrolled 22, 600 students in April of 2010, and I am one of the 120 students still going to class. They are focusing on minorities, single mothers and those who are unemployed. Telling us it will cost us nothing and than with holding any or all credits we earn until our loans are paid for. When using these "so called" diplomas and degree we get laughed at. Enrollments counselors recieve around $800 for every student they enroll. They do not expect us to keep "moving forward". They want us to fail. Never talking to a Financial Advisor before completely all the paperwork, enrolling me without being able to read anything because they are on the phone and telling you you have to be in front of a computer to get to the next step. "A person from Finance will explain everything to you and you can ask them that question." Or what about "that is a great question, I am glad you asked that. We will get to that a little later. We have to follow the steps or the computer won't let us go further."

I cantacted Education Approval Board, In Wisconsin where I live and they are suposedly going after them for something. They expect me to walk away debt free. THAT'S WHAT I WAS GOING TO DO I THOUGHT! They owe me for my time and effort ( I have managed A's and on my fourth vlock of classes) My stress, dissappointment and my anxiety attacks. They have did this before in 2006 and settled with the government. UOP paid $93Million back to the Feds. And what that's it. The go. might be in on it. After all look at the stock market for Apollo now that they have been brought out into the open again. Good Luck to you and me too.

@JoannaM funny I think Ive seen this same statement about 18 times almost word for word on each compaint on multiple websites. How much is UoP paying you? And your quality education shows in your spelling and grammar. FU UoP. I hope those people sleep well at night.

I graduated from UOP last year. i now have my Bachelors in Science of Psychology and I am going to go back for my Masters and Doctoral Degree. UOP is so much better in so many ways than Heald. I attended Heald 2004, for almost one year. That place was a joke!
I guess you can say it depends of the location and people. All i have to say is that UOP has so many programs to help you with school, including Center for Writting, Free Workshops and Tutoring for all classes. Not mentioning thier helpful staff at the campus, free coffee and tea, learning team private classrooms, and a computer lab.

Heald- have to pay more than $100 for each class book (at UOP you had access to print out your books AT NO CHARGE), class schedual was rediculous! Monday to Thursday for five to six hours. Im sorry, but i had kids and a family to attend. Finally, they charged way too much for my classes.

I payed the same price for each class at UOP and Heald. Its STUPID! Same price for an low Associates degree, when i could be getting a BACHELOR, AND BETTER EDUCATION. And I never ever payed from my pocket. The only way and reason you would have to pay from your pocket would be becuase you had a D or lower in those classes.

There are so many lawsuits against the University of Phoenix right now, they need to be stopped.

I was recently harrassed and abused by a Facilitator, I complained and nobody did anything to stop him, I took the matters in to my hands and I told him via email that he failed me as an instructor that I had a 3.67 GPA before his class and that he ruined that by failing to guide me in what I was doing wrong... he reported me for harrassing him and 2 days later I got reprimanded and threatened with expulsion! They have robbed me of my money, they have frauded me several times and I am now suing them. I encourage anyone to go after them if they have been wronged! enough complaints from us out here should get that University shut down!

You seem incredibly informed about online education, and I am proud you are attempting to clean up the industry...I was wondering how it was you came to choose Walden U. over any others, and whether you think Walden is like UoP. I did fairly extensive research on them and they do not appear to be like the other for-profit con artists who care more about money than the student. So far my experience at Walden has been incredibly positive and supportive...something I did not experience at other online institutions such as Univerisity of Maryland (master's degree in Distance Ed.) and at Kaplan College now Univeristy (Bachelors). If it's not too much trouble I'd love to hear your opinion on Walden and to discuss the future of online learning as it moves through the current legal mess the industry now finds itself in thanks to the greedy. I am dealing with the same thing but don't want to take any actions because I am very close to graduating...but of course that keeps getting delayed because of, surprise, financial aid disbursements. Whats should I do?

I ahmve been taking classes at University fo Phoenix since January 2010. I have no complaints about their curriculum, but their handling of my pell grants and financial aid leaves alot to be desired. Last disbursement I had to call them and email them almost everyday to get my financial aid disbursement it took over a month to finally receive. This month it is the same thing. It was my financial aid last month, this month it is my pell grant that does not show up. They give me a different excuse and a differnet date everytime I call them. Now they are not even answering my phone calls or my emails.

Interesting, I would agree that the Teachers tend to do that. I had been docked scores on a report on "Diversity" BEing a manager and working overseas, I thoght I had the report in the bag.

However the teacher I had on the subject disagreed with my report stating that I was wrong. My retubution came in the discussion forums for the class, where she had posted things that were not only wrong, but illegal and if these students practiced, it would cause litigation in the USA and other places I have been (depending on your nationality). I corrected her and explained to the students. She boasted having many years of expereince. I said that may be so, but the law is clear on the subject despite your personal experience and that you may want to do some research before teaching a matter that you clearly have no understanding of. However I do know some attournies that a re friends who could help enlighten you if you would like to have thier emails to prove my statements. Intresting enough she gave me a passing grade. :)

People get tons of tacky pop-ups and spam e-mails from University of Phoenix advertising Masters and PHD programs "that can be completed in just six months".
Many employers base their opinions on that and are less likely to hire people with UoP degrees.

Perhaps the University of Phoenix doesn't deserve the terrible reputation, but its there just the same. In the job market perception is reality.
Also its nearly impossible to transfer credits to or from the University of Phoenix.
I'm not calling UoP a diploma mill; but for the considering the tuition rates, work load and reputation...you're probably better of at a community college or state university.

After reading these comments, it is obvious that ignorance is truly bliss. The University of Phoenix does not run a diploma mill. It give those who have no college experience a FREE three week workshop to introduce them to the style that the University uses to teach its students. Sales tactics are not used. Rather, information is exchanged with the potential student to help them make the best choice possible. If you are unable to make up your own mind when recieving this information and blame someone else for your ignorance, how can you be qualified to comment about anything? I read the comments here and see nothing but a bunch of whining, lazy dropouts who will be unsuccessful at everything in life because of their poor attitude. Blaming a company trying to make a difference in people's lives is the way they go about making themselves feel better. Pathetic.

How can the University of Phoenix be a diploma mill if only 6% of students graduate...if it were a diploma will wouldn't everyone graduate?

I spoke with a UoP relations specialist and she assured me that they constantly lay off their staff who may have caused stress to former students. That is somewhat relieving to hear, that they are continually trying to improve their educational methods.

Oh, I forgot to add why they want you signed up as fast as possible. They instantly hit you with extremely disproportionate tuition costs immediately and are quick to just send your account to a collection agency.

Very sleezy, unprofessional, and unethical. How is the US Government not involved with stopping a deceptive business like University of Phoenix?

Let the truth be known. University of Phoenix is not even a school. It is a business trying to scam students to enroll in their "school". All of their education is haphazardly done. Their enrollment advisors, academic advisors, and financial aid advisors are ALL SALES PEOPLE.

ALL UOP advisors are trained to get you signed up as fast as possible, before you realize University of Phoenix is not even a school.

Dear "UoP Victim, " I can't tell if this might be the issue, but I believe that if you do not complete the pre-requisite number of credits/classes, if you do not maintain a GPA average of "C" or better, if you drop, withdraw, fail or do not make attendance, it is my understanding (I have a Masters degree) that you have not earned the right to your Title IV funding as per the policies of the Dept. of Education and a school or is legally bound to return that entire amount of Title IV funds (loans and grants) to the government (or lender) -- even if they have already given you the excess funding to use for educational expenses. How a university or college deals with the "money owed" for class time used after that point -- including and grant money not earned but already given to the student -- and university "drop by this date and there's no charge" policies vary from school to school. I suggest visiting StudentLoans.gov and taking an "Entrance Counseling Interview." It reviews the policies and regulations a student must abide by and achieve in order to earn their Title IV funding. It sounds as though you did not earn your PELL grant (did not complete enough credits, dropped or failed classes, let your GPA drop below a "C" ) and your loans didn't cover your cost of courses. Hope this helps. i would also definitely recommend that you contact that Libby Bailey person; she sounds like she's willing to help.

If you guys are proud of yourselves for having such high grade point averages I wouldn't be. The only way that you fail a course at the University of Phoenix is by being a brain dead idiot, which much of their student base is due part that they will put anyone with a pulse, "GED" or high school diploma, and the ability to complete an application in school.

However in defense of UOP, they are "supposed" to return the financial aid award back to the lender for any incomplete courses in accordance with the guidelines imposed by the higher education act. However this isn't required and is completely unfair to the student due in part to the unfair repayment process that this imposes on the borrower. Even more worrisome is that I would hazard a guess that 99% of students entering into a financial aid agreement with UOP are unaware of this fact. Granted UOP puts this fact somewhere on their financial aid application, but you try and find it.

But don't believe they want to return these funds due to your withdrawing from there, as the number one recipient of federal financial aid dollars, they would much rather pass you if you can put a coherent sentence together in order to keep you in school and keep milking the billion dollar cash cow.

BINGO rogship, I too have had an amazing experience with University of Phoenix... I graduate this summer with a 3.5 GPA. I think all of these negative complainers need to except the fact that they are the type of people that blame everyone else for their lack of ambition. You have to earn a degree at University of Phoenix. In no way is it handed to you. Congrat's rogship!

You are probably an anvisor and work at the school, advisors get their cut, and that's why they are still sitting in back of does desk lying to students and making money off them, you can't talk for over 300 people complaints, I would understand failing, but most of the students wirth the complaints all over the website are not about grades, it is about the advisors lying to them, nobody knows your background just like you don't know theirs, so you can't say that people arent smart because you are incorrect, students actually have cases with attorneys and the school has been investigated, and is still being investigating. if you have a BSB/A like you mentioned then why do you talk out of your ###, without reading the statistics, you are a looser that probably lies, and is making up crap just to back up the school.

I attended the UOP and got great grades, but due to their new attendence policy I can't keep up. I opted to transfer back to Capella due to the flexibility. And UOP screwed me. I completed my courses before my withdraw. They sent my funds back to the lender and sent me a bill for 2999 dollars, and refuse to give me a copy of my transcripts untill I pay up! I contacted my lender and asked if those funds could be returned to UOP, they said all they had to do was request them. But when I contacted them to give them this information, they said they would and have not! So all my hard work was for nothing! My advisors at UOP did everything in there power to keep me there but I knew I had a better chance of completing my degree at Capella. They still keep giving me the runaround. When I originally left Capella they were supportive and very helpful...they didn't try to stop me or bully me into staying and do underhanded things like University of Phoenix. And just to make another point when I finalized my withdraw from University of Phoenix. I asked my advisor if there was anything I needed to know especially if my withdraw would effect my financial aid or anything and I was told NO! So I am happy that it has worked out for you, but you are one of few!

I am currently attending u of p and found out that the school does not provide the information needed to complete this course IT/242. I was instructed to find the information to complete the assignment on the internet. Three weeks from graduation, not looking forward to having my associates degree in Google searching. This school is a complete joke.

I must disagree with each and every post here! I am a graduate of UoP and there is no way that I could have ever completed my degree and gotten the position within my company that I now hold. I possess a Bachelor's degree in Psychology because of some wonderful academic, financial, and enrollment counselors...maybe this is one of those situations where something is only what you make of it!

I was also tricked into thinking University of Phoenix is a great school and enrolled. I was very disappointed with their online degree program after jut 1 short week so I withdrew from the school.

I was in shock when University of Phoenix "decided" that I owe them $750 for withdrawing after just 1 week. And the thing is, they don't tell you any of it and they keep insinuating each and every student to just try it.

The top people who are running Univ. Phoenix absolutely do not care about the student's well-being. They JUST WANT YOUR MONEY ANY WAY POSSIBLE.

I thought I was alone until I just read the last two posting. I am stuck in the same situation and regret that I ever considered furthering my education with U of P. I know I owe the money and that is why I was faithfully paying it, per the agreed payment arrangements in writing from U of P. Then I receive that same call basically strong arming me into trying to agree to me to make monthly payments in a 3 month period of time that was equivalent to some people's house note plus give them one of my legs. Once I complete paying the balance I owe I will not be completing my remaining credits with this school nor will I recommend them to anyone. I will be transferring my credit else where. Good luck to those who have yet to experience this unethical approach that U of P takes with no regards of assisting their students in completing the remaining credits to earn their degree.

I cannot believe the issues here. I had a similar issue. I made a payment, and immediately, my account was sent to a collection agency. I'm in 10, 000.00 debt in student loans For Nothing! Worst, they failed me in their bogus Gen/105 class which cost me $975.00, while I passed all the other classes at 90 or better. The government need to step in this one.

I too worked in the Midwest Division as a Financial Advisor for I am ashamed to say almost three years. I was terminated in early March after a very long battle to keep my job. Huge and high student counts made it impossible for me to be a "counselor". Phone c alls from students went unanswered because reports were more important than customer service for our students. If reports were not done per deadlines finance counselors could lose their jobs and their performance was and is still rated on this.

Everything this previous poster says is 100 percent correct. I was hated by my enrollment counselors because I chose to fight less than ethical enrollments and told the students in my care the "whole truth". At every turn I was blasted by the Enrollment and Finance Managers for delaying class start dates and demanding financial aid paperwork was complete and correct before a student started.

Almost every student I saw enrolled was enticed with promises of thousands of dollars of excess financial aid from grants and money they could receive that would not be needed to cover classes. Many students enrolled only for that reason and left class the minute they got that money never to be heard from again. Financial Aid does cover the full cost of tuition here BUT the school only keeps enough to cover each class in a disbursement period one time in their accounts. Students get every other penny in an excess funds check. 4 classes12 credits are in a disbursement period. Students are told if they have to retake a class for any reason they have to pay to retake the class themselves. By the time that happens they had usually always spent their excess money.

I saw hundreds of students come and go along the way. Less than 20 ever made it to graduation from even the Associates Degree Program. Less than 50 Axia College graduates even walked at the recent graduation ceremony I attended. I tried to make a difference for my students that is why I stayed so long.

I almost started class today. I have a loan that was in default, I paid on it but when I became unemployed at the end of February I missed a payment and they put me back in a status that would not allow me to receive funding.

I called UoP and told my enrollment counselor this news. He said he would talk to his manager and call me back. I recalled talking to my finance counselor the day before, who said that the certification process would take 3 weeks. I realized that I would be approximately 2/3 done with my first class before I even knew whether or not my financial aid would pay out. Well when my enrollment counselor came back with his manager's advice, he told me that the company handling my defaulted loan could only be handling private loans (not true, it's a federal stafford loan that defaulted) and that it wouldn't affect my current loans in process. ALSO he said that if I did have a defaulted loan on file it would have come up when they submitted my paperwork to financial aid and through FASFA (I also find this hard to believe).

I'm waiting for a call from my finance counselor to further discuss this, and I'm going to tell my enrollment counselor to cancel this class until I am GUARANTEED that my financial aid is approved.

BTW EdFund is the company holding my defaulted loan. When I called in February to tell them that I was unemployed and would need a week or so additional to get the money together for the payment, they detailed no negative recourse or ramifications if I failed to pay on time, but I found out when I called last night to make my most recent payment that because I missed the payment I was placed back in a probationary status that would keep me from qualifying for aid for an additional 9 payments. I think it is unfair that most other aspects of the education industry take into account unemployment and economic hardship (for which this loan was deferred (then defaulted without my knowledge) for).

Something needs to be done about the education industry. I'm so depressed reading these complaints about schools and lenders. When did helping people grow, helping people learn, become a business? Why are so many other countries doing internships instead of hours and hours of class time for hands-on degrees? I truly feel the reason that state/federal/school levels require so many credits to graduate is because they know you'll pay for them, because you can't get a good job without a degree. They've turned the degree into a necessity and force you to empty your pockets and stretch your limits in hopes of getting a good enough job to pay it all back once you are done. It's sad. I hate that I'm 25 with no children and I'm already scared to death that I won't be able to save up enough money to help any children I may have with school. I had no help which is why it's taking me so long to get back. When did everything get so convoluted by greed?

I am so sorry to here about your situation with this scandalous school. How rude of them not to give you your degree the one you have worked so hard for. there is only one word for this situation LAWSUIT.

I am absolutely amazed that someone else is having the same issue as I am. I completed my degree program in 2005; at which time I was told I needed to complete 2 gen ed classes. I called in 2009, as I was ready to not only finish my BS, but start on my MS. I was informed that I needed to complete only 1 gen ed class, I asked at least 7 times to clarify that it was indeed only 1 additional class, I was assured each time that it was. I immediately did enrolled in a class. Once I received my transcript from my local community college I called UOP...well, that's when things got really bad. I was informed that I needed to submit an appeal, as I could not get my degree due to the fact that I needed extra requirements...it is a new program apparently. I submitted an appeal immediately; however, it was turned down due to the fact that, and I am quoting here "I was not nice enough". My rep asked me to write another letter, much nicer, and send it to her for her approval...which I did. Well, now I am being told that I only had 1 year to complete the gen ed classes; they want me to take an additional 21 units! I am paying $30, 000.00 in student loans as it is. I have spoken to an attorney and will move forward with a lawsuit; I just don't see UOP caring though, I have tried to reason with them, to no avail. They only respond to the all mighty dollar, perhaps I can hit them where it hurts.

I'm very sorry. It seems they have done this to a lot of their students. I can't believe I have a degree from this school. No wonder I can't find a job.

So, in your opinion, a day late, a week late, what's the difference. Try that with Income Tax, see what happens. LOSER

I am familiar with all of the changes in advisors. I have had a couple different academic advisors since I started and have also had 5 different finance advisors in the last 2 months. What is up with that?

You might consider re-taking your writing class.
