Bought a car on march 20th 2009 when they wee ofering a deal that if you have a job ad $350 a week you will be approved. We drove off the lot in a new Kia Spectra ad was told everything was fin. 10 days later they called saying that they needed additional information and I brought it to them. 20 days late they said there was still a problem and they needed more information. We brought it to them on April 13. On April 17th, it became clear the deal would never come through and we returned the vehicle and got our trade in back infsted with ants! They did not give me our down payment back and said i had to wait for the owner to return on April 22. i called on april 22 and was informed that they would not give us any of the refund back. They stated they can keep it because of the mileage on the car. ther was 3400 miles and they can take 25 cents pr mile. That comes to $850 and we put down $1000.00 I deserve at least the $150.00 back if not the whole thing because the whole mess was startd wih the idio salesman. The comercials offer false advertising in that they state you can talk to the owner if there is a problem. When you speak to him he states that he has worked for 25 years and doesnt deal with customers any more and that is why he pays Larry six figures to handle it for him. STOP FALSE ADVERTISING! STOP OVERCHRGING FOR THE CARS AND STOP LYING TO FAMILIES THAT COME IN TO BUY FROM YOU!

I have purchased several vehicles from David Brady and I know him personally. Some of the complaints in this forum are absolutely false and the accusations as to his character are very disturbing to me. He is an extremely fair man and an honest man of character and integrity. When I buy my next Hyundai sonata it will be from him even though I live in Kentucky now. I have known him for around 20 years and have seen nothing but good from this man and how he treats customers. There was one customer who said he jumped her and said I'm not one of your grunts made me laugh in disbelief. If you know David you know this is a false statement.

Just an FYI for anyone looking for a new or used car, do NOT go to KIA under any circumstances. I went to have my door looked at, came out of there with a missing radiator hose. Nothing was done to help me and I wasn't informed of a "leak" in my hose until after I paid my diagnostic fee and was leaving. I checked my engine the next morning only to find out one of my hoses was completely missing, cut out of my engine, and some of the belongings of the mechanic were left behind in it's place. They are nothing but low-life scums that try to take advantage of people. Never work with them. For your own safety. I could've died as a result of their actions

Bought new Kia Soul in 2013. Financed through Kia at 2 percent special they had going on. The salesman asked did we want to do five year loan we said yes. Fast forward, July 2016 letter from Kia states that I signed a Balloon addendum and either have to pay my car off in full next month or trade it in on a new one. Wtf? I am now waiting on disability to start, barely scraping along. I called them, called dealership, none of them care they just want trade ins. So I highly recommend never financing through Kia, beware of them slipping in the BALLOON ADDENDUM at University Kia. I will never go there again.

I agree that the commercial with the turkey looks bad. I'm white, and I actually think it has a racist tone. I would never have volunteered as the head on that burnt turkey. If I, being white, think it looked bad...I can't imagine what kind of flack it is receiving from African-American viewers.

I also well never shop there for a car due to the attitude I received from a employee on the phone. He literally pissed me off the way he was talking to me in regards to my options for financing a car.

The new commercial showing the burnt turkey and someone pouring gravy over it is very gross.
I don't find it makes the Kia commercial appealing and usually turn the channel. Can't come up with something else? Hire a new advertising firm.

Could someone tell me if they have had problems with the LED lights on any of their KIA vehicles? I purchased a 2015 Forte Koup and had it for about 2 weeks. The tail lights were LED so when I took it to the SERVICE department they told me there was a short in the lights and they would have to keep it until it was fixed because it was a safety hazard. 3 days later they called and said that the replacement lights came in but had been CRUSHED during shipping. Make a long story short...I told them that I DID NOT want the vehicle because 6 months or so down the road there could be a SHORT somewhere else. I ended up purchasing a 2014 Soul which I LOVE however it has LED lights underneath so when you open the door at night you can see under the car. Well guess what... SOMETIMES they work SOMETIMES they don't! COME ON PEOPLE...WHAT IS UP WITH THE LED LIGHTS?

You can pay for your rating to the BBB. Do not be fooled. You have to pay dues.So as long they follow certain guidelines and pay they money they can get an A+ rating.

Why does University Kia have an A+ rating with the BBB if it is so bad?

Wow - I was just getting ready to go there. I am sorry for your experiences, but thankful that you all are sharing for those of us who are ready to purchase.

All I can say is that I wish I had read the reviews for this dealership before I went. My husband and I were treated with a great deal of disrespect. I am so thankful that we decided not to purchase a vehicle from this dealership. We kept saying no to their "deals", not trying to negotiate, but simply meaning we did not know what we wanted to do yet. They would not take no for an answer and when it finally became clear that we were not going to sign they tried to accuse us of 'wasting their time' and 'going back on our "word". Very bad experience. Please go somewhere else.

I'm retyping my complaint, since it turned out differently than I actually typed it with a lot of strange letters and symbols.
3rd of Sept., 2012
I sent letters of complaint against University Kia to the BBB, the corporate office in Irvine, CA and to the headquarters in Korea about two incidents involving manager Arthur Seaton and employee Jared. Never met these two before, but they treated me as though they absolutely hated me. My previous experience was fine when Page Pall was the manager, it all changed when Arthur Seaton replaced Page. Page had given me a very good deal I couldn't pass up. Page was gone when I returned to pick up my new car and that's when Seaton acted horribly toward me. I bought the car anyway. That was on Feb. 28, 2012. Six months later after writing complaint letters, I still had no apologies from them. On Aug. 28, 2012, I went in and had a meeting with Arthur Seaton and owner David Brady. They tried to intimidate, belittle and insult me.They told me I was a liar and the things I complained about had never happened. David Brady tried his "holier than thou" routine on me, too. Then he implied that I was a racist.( Seaton is black; Brady is white; I am white). Brady kept saying I must be a government employee, but I repeatedly said I was not. He made it clear that he hates government employees. When I told him that I was 64 years old and the widow of an army officer, he yelled at me that he was NOT one my "grunts". Because of my complaints and the fact that I stood up to him, he told me I was no longer welcome there and to never come back ! Brady has mental, moral and business etiquette problems. Trust me, you don't want a Kia bad enough to walk through those doors.

This man has mental, moral & business etiquette problems. Don't even THINK about buying a Kia. I wish I hadn't.

I don't know why anyone would by a Kia from this owner and keep in mind he owns all of them in north Alabama. So if you want a Kia you will be dealing with him. And he doesn't care about anything but the dollar. From someone that goes to church like this owner and acts the way he does make no since. Fair and right doens't matter.

I also had a negative and traumatic experience with a finance manager and other manager at University Kia here in Huntsville. Your complaint is in alignment with my experience but Kia could not find my trade in and threatened to call the police on me when I requested my car back. They were belligerent and spoke in a threatening tone and body language. I called the police and when the police arrived, it was confirmed that I had done nothing wrong. Of course this was a civil matter so HSV police could not help. I contacted the Attorney General's office and am yet pursuing legal venue. I have never seen anything like this and I am not happy to say that I purchased a car from University Kia. I am still traumatized and hurt by how these "proffessionals" behaved and spoke to me.

this is the same thing that happened to me and to add, 2 in particular were very threatening. I am a single woman and was treated with disrespect and totally belittled when I agreed not to sign after the 3rd attempt (through their error). Modern day vigilantes and I will not let this go. I am pursuing legal action. I ended going to the emergency room with chest pains and have suffered sleepless nights due to their treatment of me!

I purchased a new 2010 Forte Koupe This past Monday night September 21, 2009, I financed the car with the creit union. As I was leaving I ask the saleman what I needed to get the plates changed over from the trade-in. He said " take the packet that the finance person gave you and you do not need the car with you". Tuesday morning I go to the DMV stand in line for an hour and a fifteen minutes to be told I don't have the title application. She said " KIA DOES THIS ALL THE TIME". As I was leaving the DMV at 10:11 am I called the salesman and had to leave a message. That I had a problem with paper work. He did not return my call. At 11:42 am I called him again. This time he answered and when I told him I did not have the title application. he replyed" The girl that does that has just gone to lunch, I will get it straight for you when she gets back from lunch. At 3:52 pm I called him back since he failed to do what he said he would do. I had to leave a message again. asking to get this straight. I did not receive a call back so this morning I tried again and left another message. My wife was going in that direction and said she would stop and see what was going on. I thought maybe I should call the credit union and ask if I was approved for the loan. I was told that the credit union approved it yesterday, but she added KIA IS THE ONLY DEALER THAT DOES NOT GIVE YOU THE TITLE APPLICATION WHEN YOU FINISH THE PAPER WORK. So at this point I know we are not going to get it today. My wife called me from KIA and said she was speaking to a different sales person which told her it take 10 to 20 day to get it. But he takes her to the fiance person and the sales manager. The finance person tells her he "told" me it would take that long (which is untrue, I would not have went to the DMV if I had been told). The sales manager told my wife we should have it by this Friday and he will give us a call so we can pick it up. So my thought on this whole thig is they don't tell customers this because they know what a hassle it is to get on Redsone Arsenal without a decal and you can't get a decal with out a tag receipt. If KIA had just been upfront and put it in writting I did not have the title application until 10 to 20 days I would have still bought the car and save my time at the DMV and all the phone calls not to mention the frustration of being misled.
